[14.58] Jack: Hello, and you're listening to let's drone out
[20.45] Jack: with him Jack
[23.29] Jack: Yeah, and Tony what's up and Jay maybe I don't know is Jay connected
[30.81] Jack: Let's say no. Oh, okay. No, no, Jay. Hopefully Jay will join us sooner or later
[37.65] Jack: How's it going guys?
[39.69] Adam Juniper: I'm very well. Thank you. I'm back in the lovely United Kingdom. Yep
[44.77] Adam Juniper: Engaged what a country and engaged. Yes and staring at a scary brain graphic
[53.17] Adam Juniper: And for those of us listening on the podcast later on on the live stream, we currently have a scary brain graphic
[58.99] Tony: Wow, see
[60.83] Jack: Yeah, it's on that. It's on the canvas. It's a bit. It's a little bit trippy. But yeah, we've been listening to hardy mills
[66.47] Jack: How are you guys adjusting to the new time schedule?
[70.23] Tony: Hey, it looks way better. Yes, I'm here. Well good. I like it. Oh, is that Jay?
[75.83] Jae: Yeah, hello everybody. Oh, hello
[79.91] Jae: Dark and cold out here, but hello. Oh, hello Adam
[83.91] Jae: Oh
[87.03] Jack: The jay is back. Yeah, we were a little bit lost without you. We haven't heard you for ages
[92.63] Jae: Yeah, there's a little bit
[94.95] Jae: Running around in mountains jumping in cold freezing cold literally freezing cold lakes and rivers and now i'm back stronger i'm better than ever
[103.75] Jack: voice of doom says
[105.75] Jack: satan music for jay
[108.39] Adam Juniper: Oh, yeah, he knows me too well
[110.79] Adam Juniper: What was the film that ruined ruined my my's career like literally the worst film ever that's got to be all
[117.43] Adam Juniper: The sex guru love I thought that was gold member
[122.15] Jack: Uh, no, he went he went worse than that. Yeah, tony i've seen you've been out car park flying with uh, dan
[129.43] Tony: Yeah, me and dan went out. Um
[132.05] Tony: Tuesday, I think it was first time in a car park pretty scary, but
[137.19] Tony: i'm i started flying the
[139.83] Tony: Diatome 150 on 3s
[142.55] Tony: um
[144.39] Tony: I got used to it and then
[146.87] Tony: took the took the 180, um
[150.23] Tony: 4s
[151.51] Tony: cobra motors
[153.51] Tony: Uh qav
[155.03] Jae: Which was a lot faster. Oh
[157.51] Jae: So it's 2016 and did anyone see the uh unveiling of the chinese quadcopter that's carrying a person?
[165.67] Adam Juniper: today
[167.67] Jae: Doesn't it look bad a couple years ago for youtube. What would the bit or even the uk one that has like a hundred?
[176.95] Jae: I mean today say it's it's apparently going to do like 63 kilometers an hour
[181.43] Jae: Up to 11 000 feet. Uh, i'd like to dodge some
[185.27] Jae: Last 11 000 feet
[187.27] Jae: I know I was thinking 23 minutes
[189.35] Jae: It's going to go up pretty quick to get that high and right only then you're going to get into the world of 747 then
[194.71] Jae: That thing versus the 747. No, thanks
[198.63] Adam Juniper: No, it's going to make a good mess of an engine as well something that's
[203.03] Jae: I think it'll be interesting to see how they're going to integrate that into the current manned aviation or uh, you know world
[209.27] Jae: But it's it's needed. I think we need to start looking at these things at some point soon
[214.79] Adam Juniper: I can see the caa simply banning aircraft of any kind because it would save a lot of trouble
[220.23] Adam Juniper: You wouldn't have to go to the you know, just take the train to paris
[223.67] Adam Juniper: And then and then hitch
[225.67] Jae: Interestingly enough though the caa you you take it on like a single piston engine thing or you know
[231.03] Jae: Like it's on the actual engine
[233.03] Jae: And the one thing that's yet to really take off pardon the pun is electric engines and even electric aircraft
[239.43] Jae: so
[240.47] Jae: I think it'll be an interesting decade ahead of manned aviation and unmanned aviation
[245.67] Adam Juniper: I suppose the first few 788 787s off the line didn't do the um
[250.07] Adam Juniper: The imagery of electric any good catching fire while they were sat around doing nothing
[254.63] Jae: Yeah, exactly and even the Tesla road didn't do too well on the cars really in the first few but
[261.75] Jae: It's it's it's progressed and i'm all for these things flying around just not over my house. Thank you
[269.11] Adam Juniper: Not in my backyard
[277.03] Jae: To be honest I I don't suffer from nimbyism I love everything that turns including wind turbines, but
[283.99] Jae: I think we do need to think about what how this is going to get
[287.27] Jae: Regulated and how we're going to actually have our own manned aviation because let's face it backyard inventors are doing it already
[292.87] Jae: It is the first one to do it where it looks a bit more
[295.91] Jae: Like it should stay in the air
[297.83] Adam Juniper: For 20 minutes does look cool
[300.15] Adam Juniper: I just I don't really understand the point of doing it as a quad. I think that if you're going to have a person
[305.03] Adam Juniper: Why not just have you know opposite rotating blades?
[309.03] Jae: Oh, no, it's it's a natural state. It is a it's a octocopter essentially. It's an x8
[314.15] Adam Juniper: Yeah, sorry. Well, yeah x8 either way
[317.27] Adam Juniper: Why not just have two blades like there was a crazy japanese guy did it about 10 years ago?
[321.43] Adam Juniper: It sort of worked and then you take up much less sky
[325.99] Jae: I think redundancy i'd rather have eight propellers than I could lose one
[329.91] Jae: Maybe two there's that there's that
[333.19] Adam Juniper: Um, I suppose. Yeah, so you're saying the sanity of somebody in the x8 is slightly higher
[339.43] Jae: Yeah, rather than the fitness ball mounted landing gear of the german
[349.0] Jae: God that thing was scary
[352.6] Jae: He did and there's the other one I think wasn't it the uk where there's a guy in a park and his wife's filming him
[358.68] Jae: He survived
[360.12] Jae: Have you not seen the other version of the?
[363.32] Adam Juniper: I won't tax my connection at the moment, but uh link us in chat jay link us in chat
[368.76] Jae: See if I can find it. Yeah, let's see if I can find it because it is quite funny to see
[373.4] Jack: Yeah
[374.6] Jack: Yeah, the e hang
[376.68] Jack: It hang
[377.72] Adam Juniper: No, yeah, yeah, so yeah, it is essentially an x8
[380.36] Adam Juniper: Yeah, he had you know the people who brought you the ghost drone
[384.84] Jack: The what?
[386.52] Tony: I don't like them people
[389.24] Jae: Yeah, it makes the ghost of you real
[392.28] Jack: Tone i'm sure you posted a link earlier on in um, the
[396.44] Jack: Uh on google and you were like, I like this and I don't know what it is
[401.8] Tony: It is the new unique
[404.42] Tony: Typhoon h the new drone coming out
[408.84] Adam Juniper: The first one with collision avoidance detector. Well aside for the dji matrix the first one with collision avoidance technology
[416.2] Adam Juniper: Yeah, that's the one with it looks pretty good starting at 17 99 us
[422.04] Adam Juniper: So basically the same price as a phantom advanced
[426.36] Adam Juniper: Is that the top one the professional that the the most expensive phantom anyway, but this one will avoid a tree apparently
[434.12] Tony: Yep, and it'll fly around it
[438.23] Adam Juniper: Or just into a slightly smaller branch that it didn't see
[442.15] Adam Juniper: But I mean leaving leaving aside that it's you know
[444.63] Adam Juniper: The idea that collision avoidance technology has come to a point that people want to sell it is really exciting. Yes
[452.07] Adam Juniper: I flew a yonec uh the q500
[455.69] Adam Juniper: Recently for a review and that's not a particularly new drone
[460.25] Adam Juniper: But it's 900 pounds. It comes in this amazing flight case
[465.21] Adam Juniper: It comes with a hand controller so you can take the 4k camera off put it into your hand grip
[470.65] Adam Juniper: You know like the new thing from dji the osmo. Yeah, it's just free and in the box
[475.69] Adam Juniper: There's no question of charging you another 300 pounds for it. Awesome
[480.89] Adam Juniper: Yeah, and they've been selling that for a year
[482.89] Adam Juniper: And because it's not quite as elegant because they maybe didn't have the same press and pr as dji dji
[489.21] Adam Juniper: It doesn't get quite as much coverage and it looks a little less steady in the air
[493.93] Adam Juniper: But they had 4k first
[496.49] Adam Juniper: It was a great. It's a great thing
[499.37] Adam Juniper: And you know call me a sucker for the freebies, but a proper flight case included
[504.81] Adam Juniper: Yeah, that is good and and they got 60 million dollars of investment by intel not long after that
[512.01] Adam Juniper: So, you know hence the technology for
[515.53] Adam Juniper: processing
[516.57] Tony: Yeah, it's the intel what's um
[519.29] Tony: using they're using that for the
[521.85] Tony: Avoidance system, aren't they?
[523.85] Adam Juniper: Well, they're they're you know, since they've got that money line around
[527.53] Tony: Might as well
[530.17] Jack: Oh my god, i'm just watching the swarm
[533.29] Jack: Jay just linked me. I know
[535.61] Jae: Can you paste that into the saturday night?
[537.85] Jae: So because it's hard for me to do it for my phone, but apparently gets how much that costs to build
[543.03] Jae: 6 000 pounds. Oh, yeah
[545.13] Jae: Oh, yeah
[547.93] Jae: I mean the fact that it's got an umbrella for a canopy just wins
[552.73] Jack: That is really scary
[557.61] Jack: That is unreal
[559.69] Jae: Just enough he's he's with uh under the 150 kilo max limits for unmanned aircraft but manned aircraft anyway
[567.13] Jack: What even with him in it?
[569.77] Jae: Probably um
[571.45] Jae: Wow, no, if you think about it, it's probably only going to be
[575.05] Jae: Yeah, right
[576.33] Jae: It probably is with him in it and it says maximum lift 164 kilos. They're not playing with much
[583.05] Jack: Oh my god, it works. It's actually working
[586.17] Jack: Wouldn't be able to listen to me
[587.85] Jack: Have you not seen that one before? Yeah, no never if you if you paste that in the saturday night show everyone needs to see
[593.85] Jack: Done done it. Yep. There's a link in there
[596.33] Jack: Sworn manned aerial video
[599.37] Jae: It says it's back to the pioneers of uh aviation but with bits that you can buy off the shelf
[604.41] Jae: You've got to give credit to these people and even credit to his wife to be that close to something that looks like deadly
[611.45] Jack: That's more blenders than they have in curries
[614.97] Jack: You know like strapped to like half a sled with an umbrella in the middle of it
[620.65] Jack: That is
[622.49] Jack: An alarm chair that flies and a little cooler lie with the batteries underneath it probably
[629.21] Jack: All right, he's even put little orientation lights on it. I ask you
[634.65] Tony: I think we should try it out. I think we should build one
[638.25] Jack: It'll definitely lift tony. Yeah, I'll go off in it
[644.25] Jae: We're controlling it
[646.89] Jae: Yeah
[648.25] Jae: I mean you don't want to have your receivers that close to your transmitter. It might like uh,
[652.49] Jae: Yeah, drop out of the sky in a brownout. So at least if we're flying from the ground
[657.45] Jack: Yeah, i'll line a sight your tone
[659.69] Tony: Oh, yeah, i'd like that
[661.77] Adam Juniper: Well, I think we'll put someone in it
[666.17] Adam Juniper: And they can just have an inflight movie or something
[669.45] Jack: Oh, that's even worse
[671.37] Jack: Like you don't know when you're gonna die
[673.93] Adam Juniper: Yeah, i'd rather look at my deck you can look round, you know, it's just like being in a real plane. Oh, no
[682.57] Tony: Can we have some shout outs for people on the chat
[685.69] Jack: Yeah, if you want to start reading some names do it
[688.97] Tony: Gavin ferry. Hello, mate
[691.19] Jack: Sx today
[694.01] Jack: We've got bradders in the chat. I think johnny bannon join the chat bradders. Why why isn't he on the on the on the skipes?
[702.57] Tony: I don't know. Have you seen the pictures of his uh, 210 today? I think he crashed in the mud. Um, if you guys had a clean
[710.89] Jack: Slate to start on the fpv league, what would you do? What would I do forward firing rockets?
[719.77] Jack: What the like idiots lead
[722.41] Jack: league
[723.45] Adam Juniper: Well, I think you can learn a lot from super mario cut
[726.25] Jack: I don't know because like I never like all I ever do is like one lap
[731.37] Adam Juniper: What's the rules now? Is it um timed or is it number of laps completed?
[735.77] Jack: We have no idea if you've got these transponders and you start off with 28 points
[742.57] Jack: If you manage to do one lap
[744.73] Jack: Uh, your points goes down to 27
[748.01] Jack: So if you successfully do a lap you get less points than if you don't do any laps
[753.53] Jack: And then I don't how does it work? Have you got any idea?
[758.09] Tony: No, I just fly and then say if I won or not and they normally say no
[763.45] UNKNOWN: Yeah
[764.33] Jack: And then you ask what channel you're on. I don't need a transponder for that
[768.09] Jack: They're on about selling transponders ordering a load in so you can have your own
[773.29] Tony: I think that'd be a good idea for the summer
[775.69] Tony: Yeah, yeah upcoming races so you can be set up before you go there and
[780.49] Tony: You haven't got to keep panicking about taking it on and off for the next bloody person
[784.73] Jack: Yeah, that will be good a lot less stress. I think that was
[789.45] Jack: Cost are they there's no massive cost implication. I think they're about 30 quid though. So I think it's a damn good idea
[796.65] Jae: Yeah, that's probably the top end
[798.89] Jae: There's not much to them
[800.65] Jae: And if you buy in bulk, they're going to be a much better value
[803.13] Jack: Yeah, I think I think that is the sort of bulk price
[806.49] Adam Juniper: Why not just have like electro, you know gates are electromagnetic, but just electronically watched gates
[812.65] Adam Juniper: So like like a traditional running race
[815.77] Adam Juniper: So your time starts as you fly through the first gate
[820.09] Adam Juniper: Stop when you fight through the last gate
[822.65] Jack: Um, because there's multiple pilots
[827.21] Jack: During one race
[829.29] Adam Juniper: Yeah, we'll stop doing that
[831.29] Jack: Okay, well just time trials on your own. Don't take even longer
[836.09] Adam Juniper: well, we did i'm just thinking back to last year at the um
[840.97] Adam Juniper: Um
[842.97] Adam Juniper: At the mansion
[844.97] Adam Juniper: in the woods
[847.37] Jack: Yeah, um
[848.49] Jack: Hardly any of us got through
[850.89] Tony: I did
[852.25] Jack: You managed it?
[853.69] Tony: Yeah
[854.49] Jack: Well, look at you time. I didn't know you did I?
[857.93] Tony: Who the hell is that and what is it? I blame money penny
[861.85] Tony: What are you doing in your car money penny?
[864.97] Jae: What what what are you talking about? Nothing. Oh my keys, baby
[869.69] Tony: No, it's like someone was using sellotape and wrapping me a present. Oh, sorry. No my bad. I was rolling it
[875.77] Jae: Yeah, I I was gonna say actually that didn't sound like me
[880.25] Jae: sellotape
[881.61] Jae: I kind of forgot where it was
[883.69] Jae: Yeah, naughty. Adam bad Adam
[886.17] Tony: So yeah, I didn't know you then britain. Um, but yeah, I managed to get through a couple
[890.97] Tony: Pardon me a couple of times
[892.97] Jack: I'm checking you out time
[895.21] Adam Juniper: That was a tricky circuit
[897.45] Adam Juniper: It wasn't easy had done her best to prevent drones from getting around that
[902.49] Jack: It went it got easier though as people attempted it because they were slowly pruning the trees away
[909.21] Jack: Yeah pruning the trees away
[910.73] Jack: So then you got like a larger area to fly through
[914.17] Adam Juniper: Plus bits of shattered drone made it easier to see where the ground was
[918.73] Tony: Drops everywhere
[920.73] Tony: That is when I flew
[923.05] Tony: I never used to fly acro then I that was probably horizon made through there. I
[928.89] Jack: Don't think you'd want anything else really? No
[932.73] Jack: It was like the uh last
[935.85] Jack: FPV league the one inside the paintballing arena where yep
[941.45] Jack: You had no choice but to fly horizon really at least
[946.73] Jack: Port a level
[948.89] Adam Juniper: Ah now that is an idea
[951.45] Adam Juniper: The combination of paintball and FPV
[955.37] Jack: What FPV weapons on drones or
[958.73] Adam Juniper: No, no, no, that's too much like hard work
[960.89] Adam Juniper: You just have like 20 angry teenagers with paintball things. You've got to fly through and hope no one gets you
[967.85] Jack: Oh no, I don't know
[969.85] Jae: Uh, well, it sounds like a fun fun game actually
[976.07] Jack: Yeah, that's it. But some of these guys are a real crack shot. You'll never make it
[981.43] Adam Juniper: Depends on the angle like if you put them to the side it's going to be a really tricky shot
[985.27] Jae: Yeah, if they're behind or in front a little while ago I in the us
[990.15] Jae: Yes, there's uh like a plane where people can buy shotgun shells to shoot at a plane and it gives off an explosive charge
[996.07] Jae: So essentially they fly this plane back. So it looks like a delta wing
[999.19] Jack: That's how drones got charted, you know the first maybe the wing racing we could do that
[1004.47] Jack: Speaking of wings um parrot released a new wing
[1008.23] Jack: It looks good
[1011.03] Adam Juniper: I yeah, I definitely want one of those well, except the parrot were tied to
[1015.99] Adam Juniper: What was it a sister company released a wing for farmers and stuff and it was about 10 000 pounds
[1022.07] Adam Juniper: So i'm hoping this one's going to be a bit less
[1025.03] Jack: It should be once you didn't you lose a parrot once?
[1028.71] Adam Juniper: Me? Yeah. Ah, yes
[1031.51] Adam Juniper: My first road well, it was kind of my bad
[1035.19] Adam Juniper: Um when they released the um, thanks whispers gps device
[1039.51] Adam Juniper: Um, and I programmed it to go around the pier in Brighton
[1043.43] Adam Juniper: Um, that was before, you know, we were terrified about using these things
[1047.59] Adam Juniper: in public
[1049.35] Adam Juniper: And uh, people just thought they were fun and interesting
[1052.39] Adam Juniper: but
[1053.75] Adam Juniper: Did a little testing to see if it was going all right
[1057.19] Adam Juniper: And then I left that battery on for the main event
[1060.87] Adam Juniper: So it had a half charge battery those batteries only last eight minutes
[1064.47] Adam Juniper: It got half it got halfway to the pier and he just saw it sink
[1068.23] Adam Juniper: And it was because it's wi-fi
[1070.47] Adam Juniper: So it's already out of range. So I can't call it back even once i've realized
[1074.55] Adam Juniper: What's going to happen so I could just see what's going to happen as it slowly happens
[1081.91] Adam Juniper: While I was in Greece, I flew the inspire out across two kilometer bit of water
[1086.63] Adam Juniper: Um
[1087.67] Adam Juniper: But all the time i'm doing it I get a complete projection
[1091.27] Adam Juniper: Of how long I've got with the battery
[1094.31] Adam Juniper: And how much battery i'll need to get back
[1096.79] Adam Juniper: Assuming the wind is not too strong
[1099.99] Adam Juniper: Whereas with and if it reached a point where the drone didn't think it could get back
[1104.31] Adam Juniper: Or thought I was being an idiot. It would just turn around and come back as quick as it could and land where it starts
[1110.55] Adam Juniper: Whereas the old parrot didn't have that thinking process
[1114.39] Adam Juniper: So, uh, no, it's in the it's still in the channel somewhere that appear I think
[1119.11] Tony: If you want it, it's probably washed up by now
[1123.19] Jack: Yeah, well they weren't they made out of polystyrene so surely it would flow
[1127.83] Adam Juniper: There wasn't much polystyrene, you know, you leave because you left the top of the hull off if you're using the gps bit
[1133.43] Adam Juniper: It was a very jerry rig kind of arrangement
[1136.79] Adam Juniper: You know because you had that really cool looking swappable hull
[1139.83] Adam Juniper: And you had the indoor bit with the big round bumpers
[1142.79] Adam Juniper: You could take that off put the top on at a sort of angular looking middle bits for the for the outdoors
[1149.27] Adam Juniper: But he took that off as well
[1151.83] Adam Juniper: When the gps unit was in because even a little bit of polystyrene was enough to stop gps working back then. Oh my word
[1159.03] Jack: I'm gonna have to give someone their first warning on chat for
[1163.03] Jack: posting something highly inappropriate
[1165.51] Jack: Go
[1166.71] Jack: Go fairy i'm watching you see i've got to click that now. Yeah, he he's uploaded
[1171.11] Jack: What could only be described as a dog poo with some props sticking out of it?
[1177.27] Adam Juniper: So phantom one
[1181.43] Jae: Uh, I'm glad I got jay will I why do I find that so amazing? I think that's quite funny
[1186.07] Jack: Yeah, oh no. No, no, actually I retract my statement. It is actually a quad. I think it is
[1191.75] Tony: It is a qav 210
[1194.95] Tony: What brad is piloted into the mud?
[1198.95] Jae: Yep
[1199.75] Jae: Ah, jack. Yep, are fully aware of uh, poo coptering aren't you? Yeah, none of that
[1206.55] Jae: Oh, no
[1208.31] Jae: Did it bring a bad moment for you? Are you gonna sleep tonight having seen that photo now i've got i'm already in a cold
[1213.91] Jack: shoot shoot
[1217.19] Jack: Yeah, what did you what did you film and fly?
[1220.55] Jack: jay in um
[1222.31] Jae: On your little adventures on my little adventures. Uh, well, she's been away pretty much a retreat actually
[1228.79] Jae: What it was was I was quite amazed at how many people I impressed at the retreat
[1233.11] Jae: for because it lights up and it's quite colorful and
[1237.11] Jae: Men and women wanted to hold it touch it
[1240.55] Jae: Oh, that's what I love
[1243.51] Jae: Stoked it a bit and they felt oh they said that's quite heavy, but it's small
[1247.75] Jack: Um, so what you do with it that counts
[1250.31] Jae: It's not the size. It's what you do with it
[1253.83] Jae: I mean, it was good to catch fire people
[1256.63] Jae: Uh with the 250 that lights up like christmas tree
[1260.63] Jae: And people you know people have seen things but it's always fun when people had to engage in conversation
[1265.75] Jae: There was a language barrier because I couldn't explain everything in english
[1268.95] Jae: Uh, sorry italian and they couldn't ask everything in english, but it was good fun
[1273.83] Jae: And in fact, it was good to uh show the potential for these things
[1277.91] Jae: And um, no, I was surprised at the men the women actually coming up and wanting to engaging with
[1283.03] Jae: Having you know with me seeing these things fly. It's good to see that it's not so gendered
[1289.03] Jae: Yeah
[1292.47] Jae: I had a quick flight in uh
[1294.55] Jae: Around pisa and uh, yeah, it's all good
[1297.99] Jae: I didn't have to get as much flying as I would like weather was not so great
[1301.59] Jae: And also it was in city centers that I was traveling around
[1304.39] Jae: I was more intrigued by taking some street art photos all good. What are you gonna say Adam?
[1310.87] Adam Juniper: I was gonna say that i've always found abroad where maybe the media is only historical about god related issues
[1317.59] Adam Juniper: That drones are fine. It's you know
[1320.39] Adam Juniper: It's here where you have trouble now
[1322.47] Jack: Because we've got over god and you know
[1325.59] Adam Juniper: A little more interested in various ways that you should fear the world. I don't know. I don't know
[1331.43] Adam Juniper: Maybe it's because I don't understand what's on the tv
[1333.35] Adam Juniper: But when you're abroad the most of the news seems to be related to various celebrity sex scandals
[1338.39] Jae: I guess they're a bit more common in this country
[1342.63] Jae: Than they are in some other countries. I think
[1345.51] Adam Juniper: Just to get the impression we get a bit more fear stuff like in the u.s
[1349.03] Adam Juniper: um
[1349.91] Adam Juniper: because
[1350.79] Adam Juniper: I when I mentioned last week that i'd seen a show, you know
[1353.35] Adam Juniper: I think of being very positive about drones in greece
[1355.75] Adam Juniper: There was another piece that was very positive about growing just someone showing beautiful photography of a
[1361.35] Adam Juniper: Definitely beautiful go to countryside and people very interested because it's you know
[1366.07] Adam Juniper: I think you know where we were a year ago. Maybe drone sex scandal
[1370.39] Adam Juniper: Sorry, it has just appeared in the chat. Does anyone want to tell us about the drone sex scandal? I'm clicking on it
[1375.91] Adam Juniper: Is that the drone?
[1377.51] Adam Juniper: Autographic thing or not
[1379.51] Adam Juniper: Maybe it's somebody tried to have sex with a drone
[1383.19] Adam Juniper: Let's hope not
[1385.27] Adam Juniper: Oh, look i'm just looking at the video
[1387.59] Jae: They can't have sex anymore because at least every room themselves in the gene pool in a less fated way
[1393.67] Jae: Yeah, it's got to be worse than a vacuum
[1395.91] Jack: speaking of conspiracy theories, um
[1399.99] Jae: Speaking of conspiracy theories
[1401.99] Jae: No, no
[1406.95] Jack: Yeah, shush
[1408.95] Jack: No, tony tony believes the world's flat, right? There's nothing wrong with that
[1413.83] Jack: Okay, but do you remember do you remember the time that the uh, uh phantom ended up in
[1421.27] Jack: The white house? Yeah, the white house. Yeah
[1424.07] Jack: That has got to be staged, isn't it?
[1426.55] Jae: false flag false flag
[1430.39] Tony: Yeah false flag, wait it's all set up it's all set up
[1434.31] Jae: It could well be
[1436.39] Jae: You know
[1437.99] Jae: Who knows that i'm not gonna speculate on that
[1440.39] Jack: I
[1441.99] Jack: Reckon it's
[1442.95] Adam Juniper: I'm not really happy to believe it was just you know, a boring accident
[1446.63] Adam Juniper: The the 30 mile thing is crazy
[1449.27] Jack: Yeah, you have to put in a bit of effort for that around washington
[1452.47] Adam Juniper: Because they extend it they originally created a 10 mile radius around, uh washington after that incident with the with the drone
[1459.51] Adam Juniper: Uh, well the phantom, um, and and then they extended it to 30 miles quietly over christmas
[1465.99] Adam Juniper: Effectively closed down a huge number of flying clothes
[1470.23] Adam Juniper: It's been there for years
[1471.83] Adam Juniper: I thought was uh
[1473.51] Tony: Not very nice
[1475.51] Tony: Yeah, I mean
[1477.59] Jae: That only really affects
[1480.31] Jae: Anything that you're flying with gps and it doesn't stop people flying 250 races that much
[1485.67] Jae: Okay, the regulation the law does
[1488.55] Jae: Yes
[1489.59] Jack: but there was um
[1491.43] Jack: any of you like
[1493.11] Jack: subscribed to stone blue airlines
[1495.83] Jack: on youtube
[1498.47] Jack: Yeah
[1500.15] Jack: Yeah, they recently uploaded a video
[1502.79] Jack: Um where they sat down. It was like i'd be crazy and all those guys
[1506.39] Jack: They sat around having a chat and stuff and they were saying how they they had like a little theory that I thought maybe
[1512.47] Jack: where
[1513.27] Jack: dji
[1515.19] Jack: Might be trying to like buy their way into like their legislation. So their their theory was that
[1523.03] Jack: um, you know, if we're gonna
[1525.59] Jack: If we're gonna start shutting down and like clamping down and restricting these
[1529.91] Jack: um
[1530.79] Jack: Dji could be like hey look we've got the solution here, you know, we
[1535.19] Jack: We've got like the gps and we limit and we could be the way forward that
[1540.55] Jack: So that if if people do want to fly they've got to use
[1543.91] Jack: the the gps restricted
[1546.71] Jack: um
[1547.59] Jack: Software and like hardware and stuff and that means that for anyone who wants to fly they've got to then go to them
[1554.23] Jack: Or start having licensing
[1556.55] Jack: And subscriptions to buy into that to use on other quads and they've kind of like monopolized the market
[1562.79] Adam Juniper: I um, I don't think it's just I would say that dji have to be showing
[1567.83] Adam Juniper: That they're doing a lot to restrict, you know doing absolutely everything they can to
[1572.85] Adam Juniper: Accommodate the needs. Yeah, I don't know if you've seen the the beta for the new version of dji's software
[1579.91] Adam Juniper: Because the the drones can not take off within airports already or within certain designated airports
[1587.43] Adam Juniper: But the the phantoms don't have enough space on board to carry all of the regulations for ever changing airspace
[1594.23] Adam Juniper: Who do you think it is?
[1596.23] Adam Juniper: So now their software beta
[1598.47] Adam Juniper: Will make the pilot
[1600.55] Adam Juniper: In the where they where they take off
[1602.95] Adam Juniper: Will use the phone's gps to detect where it is check against a live database
[1609.59] Adam Juniper: And then depending on the traffic light system if you're if you're next to an airport
[1613.43] Adam Juniper: You'll be in a sort of red zone where it'll still not take off
[1617.19] Adam Juniper: If you're in a sort of a questionable area
[1620.55] Adam Juniper: The thing will ask you whether you want to or not bearing in mind the warning it gives you
[1626.07] Adam Juniper: Um, or if you're somewhere where it should be fine, it'll just let you take off that seems quite reasonable
[1633.19] Tony: But well, are they charging you you have to give them a credit card details or a phone number, don't you?
[1639.43] Adam Juniper: To it's really it's just anyone who's registered either. Do you mean the faa or do you mean dji?
[1645.27] Tony: I thought uh, they needed some kind of credit card or phone number
[1651.99] Jae: It's just it's just registered owners. This is sorry I dropped out but is that to disable the uh,
[1658.63] Jae: Restrictive yeah, yeah credit card debit card mobile phone or a registered email address
[1665.51] Jack: Yep pilot sex offender list
[1668.71] Jae: I'm all for that actually and I think these have done a good thing. I think that's a really sensible way of approaching it
[1674.55] Jae: Yeah
[1675.27] Jae: Same look if you're gonna do it you can do it
[1677.75] Jae: But you're gonna get at least you we're gonna make sure it's you and we'll know it was you because we look at the flight logs
[1683.59] Jae: That's a sensible way of doing it. I I fully support that
[1687.59] Adam Juniper: And it also it allows for people with a certain qualification to say yeah, well i'm allowed so, you know
[1693.43] Jae: Yeah, but I understand I've done everything in place for the planning exactly
[1698.79] Jae: So well done dji
[1700.47] Jack: Seen as we're on this topic
[1702.71] Jack: I'm gonna pull a pin out of a hand grenade and then go
[1706.15] Jack: And then see whether you guys will right i've i've got one saved post right it's on faceballs
[1712.71] Jack: Aladdin near us has just posted this
[1715.43] Jack: And some woman just replied power's gone out locally for the village indicating his runner 250 has killed part of
[1723.43] Jack: North wales national grid
[1725.81] Jack: Infrastructure, so he's had a fly away the walkie a runner people think that it might have hit the power station
[1733.27] Tony: Oh, is this another scary story?
[1737.67] Jack: Yeah, I know I know and he says like I don't know man
[1741.27] Jack: There's loads of it since i've seen this this morning
[1744.55] Jack: Basically, it's kind of blown up a bit pun intended. Did you see what happened to phil scofield?
[1749.83] Adam Juniper: He went into the pond to get his drone out that he got for christmas and he hurt his leg on the way out
[1756.55] Adam Juniper: That's gotta be this being reported being reported as a drug related injury
[1760.87] Adam Juniper: Whereas I blame gordon the gopher, right? All right
[1763.35] Jack: Let's try that i've i've put the i've put the link in the in the chat
[1768.47] Jack: You guys can have a look but yep christmas fly away
[1772.79] Jack: Whoopsie. Oh dear not good, but of all the things to hit though. Yeah, not ideal
[1778.31] Adam Juniper: Well, I did years ago
[1780.15] Adam Juniper: There was a lot of discussion about what would happen if the ira to give you an idea of how long ago it was
[1786.61] Adam Juniper: targeted just a few power hubs in london
[1789.83] Adam Juniper: And what an effect that could have
[1792.15] Jae: And then it was worrying. Sorry. Sorry, Adam. I didn't mean to try to
[1797.51] Jae: It's stuck net targeting our power stations forget the drones
[1801.83] Jae: Cyber warfare is here and actually that's probably like
[1805.83] Jae: It made me think when they're talking about that chinese thing flying it's controlled with a microsoft surface tablet security
[1812.15] Jae: Firmware blah blah blah blah blah blah
[1815.11] Jae: The danger is more to do with the actual software security rather than the actual flyaway mechanical aspect of these things running into stuff
[1823.03] Jae: And they're only going to get more complex in their technology and they're only going to get more
[1828.39] Jae: You know, you know at some point the encryption is going to be required to actually
[1833.35] Jae: For the control signal as people are going to be pulling these things out of the sky
[1837.43] Jae: And that's more of a worry, especially when we move toward the manned aviation thing
[1842.15] Jae: The fact that stuck net can get through under the radar of many things is proven to the iranian centrifuges
[1849.75] Jae: Just think of the possibilities of a similar thing or even more advanced software
[1855.43] Jae: Payload against drones and other things
[1858.47] Adam Juniper: and power stations
[1860.55] Adam Juniper: I mean if you had evil terrorist goals, why go to all the effort of um
[1865.19] Adam Juniper: Hacking a thousand dollar drone when you can go and buy a thousand dollar drone
[1870.55] Jae: Oh, I know what i'm saying is there's going to be a transition from a thousand pounds or you know
[1875.83] Jae: To inspire to then your manned aviation multi-roader aircraft and that's the danger
[1881.75] Jae: You know what? It's a shame even if it did hit the power station
[1885.03] Jae: But I think we'll have bigger things to worry about like fillets
[1888.63] Adam Juniper: In his drone has anyone seen um the eunuch one unique one unique
[1893.91] Adam Juniper: Never know how to say that. I have no idea what you're about
[1897.43] Adam Juniper: It's unique. They want to be unique don't they but they can't write it. No
[1902.55] Jae: How do you spell unique uh eun
[1907.19] Adam Juniper: That's exactly how I would spell it though
[1912.55] Adam Juniper: The one which is like an extra for the q500 no, I haven't seen it
[1917.19] Adam Juniper: So what it's like looks like a tv remote. It's got a sort of d-pad on it
[1921.27] Adam Juniper: I think like a wee remote but black and when the remote is you're holding it level in your hand
[1927.75] Adam Juniper: the d-pad is
[1930.31] Adam Juniper: pitch and roll
[1932.31] Adam Juniper: So, you know just moves around the sky
[1935.83] Adam Juniper: Then if you lift it in your hand and so the thing's pointing up and down vertical
[1941.67] Adam Juniper: then the up and down
[1943.51] Adam Juniper: Now turn into throttle so, you know go up go down. So it's you know, it's designed for a um
[1949.91] Adam Juniper: GPS loiter mode
[1951.35] Adam Juniper: But and then it's got a different mode where you can just point it a bit of the sky and press the button once
[1957.11] Adam Juniper: And it will go there. Yeah, that's right
[1959.59] Jae: That's like the did you ever see that I think it was university of pennsylvania. They did the acrobatic
[1964.95] Jae: juggling
[1965.99] Jae: Quads, and they fly through windows
[1967.99] Jae: They did it
[1969.03] Jae: I think it was a ted talk where they had a wand that they could just point and it would go to that point
[1974.39] Jae: I remember which is
[1976.39] Jae: quite an interesting
[1978.63] Jae: I love the
[1981.03] Adam Juniper: Raphael someone yeah. Yeah him. He was a genius. Yeah, it seems like
[1986.39] Adam Juniper: It seems like they're doing all the running when it comes to clever ideas at the moment. I like the one
[1992.55] Tony: I've seen the ones with a pole and they can
[1995.51] Tony: Throw the pole to each other and the drone catches it on its
[1999.51] Adam Juniper: Head as it was so that's the same guy
[2003.11] Adam Juniper: the ted talk
[2005.11] Adam Juniper: Yeah, yeah, the same incredible or scientistian
[2009.99] Tony: Absolutely incredible. Yeah
[2011.59] Jae: Did you see the one where the guy was chopping two blades off of uh,
[2014.79] Jae: His props and stuff or two props off and it was flying with just two props
[2017.83] Jae: I mean some of the stuff that they've done with these things is amazing
[2021.83] Jack: Yeah, I mean we are knuckle draggers really
[2024.63] Jack: We are in the bloody stone age of the current possibilities, which is worrying really
[2032.23] Jack: It is it's just mental isn't it like it's just going too far
[2036.55] Jack: Five years from now right guys
[2039.99] Jack: Like tony's gonna be flying with his mind
[2044.31] Adam Juniper: He's already flying in his mind they put all these devices on people's brains to scan them
[2049.11] Adam Juniper: Yeah, you know, so and tell the person to think left and think right and the technology is, you know
[2055.57] Adam Juniper: Incredibly high tech and then they demonstrate it with palm. Yeah
[2060.63] Jae: I think that was a long time ago. There's a fair way now. It is consumer detector stuff now
[2065.67] Adam Juniper: Oh, yeah, and they oh, yeah
[2066.79] Adam Juniper: That's true because you can get them from mind body and spirit people, you know
[2070.47] Adam Juniper: To calm you and it detect i've definitely seen them sold as a sort of technology
[2074.71] Adam Juniper: Yeah, and they deliver the right most soothing and calming tone. Yeah, and then you've got the balance
[2081.19] Jack: balanced bracelets and
[2083.19] Jack: the the magical um
[2085.35] Jack: What is it? Scientology?
[2088.55] Jack: Holding things
[2090.07] Adam Juniper: It's all a lot a lot more high tech than a good old fashioned lobotomy
[2093.51] Jack: Can you guys suggest the cheapest easiest to buy quad for beginners?
[2098.31] Jack: cheap near 250 or 180
[2101.83] Jack: Cheap enough for a child to crash and doesn't that he doesn't need to get upset. I'd go hubs and every time
[2109.03] Jae: I always say that absent all the time just to get started all the time or even one of the cheaper ones
[2114.31] Jae: But don't get one with the really small remote and hubs don't get
[2118.63] Adam Juniper: Don't don't get you know
[2120.63] Adam Juniper: If you think in racing in the future don't get anything you have to control with a phone
[2124.47] Jae: The other one is the sama. I think they're a bit too
[2127.91] Jae: Troublesome with the gear things you can't find them indoors and getting an indoor one is always the best bet
[2133.03] Jack: And you can't find many indoors. So definitely help that or cheap version of yeah, or if you want to spend a little bit more money
[2140.31] Jack: What is it the blade nano qx? They're amazing apparently. Yeah, they're really good
[2147.19] Jae: That's the first one i'd say a hub send for the first one and then maybe
[2152.15] Jae: Get one of the others seriously if you're going to spend any money
[2155.91] Jae: Get the hubs and if you can't spend that much, you know, spend 20 quid get one of the cheap chinese ones
[2160.71] Jae: It's like the ia shin but not the really micro ones and nano ones go for a mini one micro
[2167.19] Tony: Not not too small and fiddly aren't they to learn on? Yeah, especially the controls to learn on
[2173.43] Jae: Okay, they give you the orientation but and mode two mode two all the way always go mode two
[2178.71] Adam Juniper: Yeah, we're not now australians here mike. Oh, but what is what are they mode one? No, that's it. Yeah, they're
[2185.43] Adam Juniper: Almost everyone's mode two now
[2189.75] Tony: Bsm where'd they all fly? Uh mode one witchcraft
[2194.63] Jae: Try and say they don't fly mode one. They fly mode two you'll find like some of the heli guys
[2199.67] Jae: Uh, sorry, the plane guys started off mode one and in the uk a lot of people were mode one for the helis
[2204.87] Jae: I'm sorry for the plane and they had to swap mode two
[2208.47] Adam Juniper: It's weirdly. Yeah, it's british people. I don't know
[2211.75] Adam Juniper: Old ones with their really established white beards
[2215.91] Jack: But they don't like wads anyway magic crystals
[2219.35] Tony: They normally have wires on their um
[2223.59] Tony: On their planes
[2225.59] Tony: Wires on their planes and then sandals, uh shorts and socks and they go around in circles
[2231.35] Tony: That's them that that is mode zero
[2235.11] Jack: Ground zero
[2236.23] Jae: Yeah, and then we won't even talk about three or four mode two everybody right guys any last thoughts
[2241.43] Jack: Or should we sign out?
[2243.67] Jae: Tend to live by now
[2246.31] Jae: Love you all and uh, make sure you're going out flying at least once this week
[2250.15] Jae: Can you hear them? Got something borrow somebody else's
[2252.87] Tony: I'm gonna go tonight and broadcast uh live on youtube if you want to watch me flying in about 20 minutes
[2260.47] Jae: Listen to the link man. Yeah
[2265.75] Jack: Thank you you've been listening to let's drone out you have been joined by the
[2270.31] Jack: ex-australian
[2273.91] Jack: My arch enemy tony
[2276.39] Jack: Hello boy. Thank you tame sky productions
[2281.19] Jack: The lord of master
[2284.07] Jack: Okay, thank you and you've been listening to let's throw now and i've been jack bright until I fly
[2290.07] Jack: I hope so either that or you guys i'll give you guys permission to put me down
[2294.79] UNKNOWN: party on guard telemetry last
