[73.91] Niall: The the list of shows that I've done now is is a lot longer than I haven't okay at least so

[90.63] Niall: That's that that most people get bored after about a five-minute race
[95.91] Jack: They wouldn't invite you back. Otherwise, that's what I learned, you know unless
[100.39] Jack: Unless you upset a line tracks and then that kind of does it for you

[111.29] Frank: Yeah, so you've been sort of mainly as far as I know you've been hanging around a lot with rotor racing and
[118.61] Frank: Doing a lot of their events
[120.45] Frank: Yeah
[121.09] Frank: Is that kind of how you got into it or is that just being like they saw you and like that's amazing
[127.41] Niall: We'll have him. Yeah, so so how I really started just you know, I flew
[133.13] Niall: Rather than rather than shouting at people. I flew a lot and I sort of realized actually I'm not that good
[141.93] Niall: And so then so being you know wanting to take part in everything and and helping keep it all steering forward
[149.93] Niall: I am I
[151.53] Niall: helped organize one of the Calgary events with Richard and
[156.89] Niall: and
[157.97] Niall: while while we were doing that I'd already met Craig and Eric from going along to I think the first little Harlington fun fly and
[166.05] Niall: They sort of just went actually
[168.21] Niall: It's quite nice to have somebody on a mic talking or as a with a loudspeaker as it was
[173.61] Niall: just talking to people talking about the racing and
[176.85] Niall: Actually helping pilots get a move on and it sort of we collaborated they asked me to help them
[184.65] Niall: pretty much
[185.93] Niall: permanently
[187.41] Niall: and and it's just been a haze of weekend events and seeing the same pilots and
[194.61] Niall: Watching some great crashes since then
[198.89] Jack: Yeah, yeah, oh cool it sounds good man. What's been your favorite event so far? Oh, definitely fun for a hundred percent
[209.52] Jack: What set that in you know, it's your you know your favorite
[215.04] Niall: It was it was a spectacle it was
[218.56] Niall: We were we were right behind one of the grandstands
[222.04] Niall: There were permanent crowds like every time we had a race the barriers were three to four people deep
[229.0] Niall: We had demos from from vendors come up
[232.32] Niall: We had massive screens and we had some great pilots and a really cool course like the cage
[239.8] Niall: a surrounded cage with the tunnel over the top was really really good and I I really enjoyed the fact that as a
[248.88] Niall: The MC the commentator the compare or whatever is I do
[252.88] Niall: It was there were people interested in what we were doing and people coming up and watching and asking and every every little kid
[260.44] Niall: Left away going I want one of those and every every guy went away with where do I buy one of those?
[266.56] Niall: And it was it was really good and it was really good to put on a show and just show
[272.56] Niall: You know the the 50,000 hundred thousand people that went to far, but what we're doing
[277.6] Niall: why we're doing it how much fun it is and and I think ideally for us while we were there is showing that
[283.36] Niall: being safe is really important as well because we had the at the cage and the netting and
[289.6] Niall: Everybody, you know as soon as somebody crashed into a
[292.88] Niall: Big steel girder and went dong
[295.04] Niall: Nobody went that must have been going pretty quick and that must have been pretty hard
[299.16] Niall: I can see why you have the net in the cage. Yeah, and that was that was important for us
[304.68] Jack: So was there any really spectacular crashes that kind of you rode off?
[312.63] Niall: There was there was so I was doing the the commentating with Craig drone London if you know drone London. Yep
[320.39] Niall: Craig films really really cool guy
[323.23] Niall: Really nice guy, and I think we're gonna be working together soon
[326.59] Niall: and
[328.47] Niall: We'd sort of everybody was hitting the net and hitting the ceilings and stuff and we'd sort of come up with hashtags to go with
[334.47] Niall: It and it was a good way of getting everybody
[337.95] Niall: To to all the pilots to tweet on Instagram and tweet about what they were doing what their favorite crashes and stuff were
[343.79] Niall: But there was there was one pilot who?
[347.75] Niall: essentially disintegrated his quad and that was
[351.63] Niall: Good because everybody's watching all the pilots are watching we had a crowd of 200 people and he just disintegrated
[359.07] Jack: Yeah, people do do love the crashes. We I'm guessing you'll be this weekend a little bit of a shameless
[366.99] Jack: Shameless little plug, but this weekend as everyone knows is or should know
[373.91] Jack: Yeah, so you're gonna be there
[381.31] Niall: I have I have a really understanding girlfriend
[385.23] Niall: But occasionally if she has to put her foot down and say hang on we have to go to a family event now
[390.43] Niall: Because otherwise it's just a whole whole summer of yeah, I'm not available this weekend by
[396.91] Niall: So she's put her foot down and I've got to attend
[399.27] Niall: But this is this is where hopefully Andrew and Craig are gonna gonna rock the boat and show everybody
[406.27] Niall: That they're putting on a show and having a good time is is what?
[410.55] Frank: Mostly for everybody else FPV is about yeah, cuz yeah, I'm not entirely sure Jack even knows about this
[416.55] Frank: But yeah, so I've you've been flying so because you're flying I've been put forward as commentator Jack
[422.63] Frank: So I'm gonna be helping out as Nile wasn't available
[427.05] Frank: I'm now like they went down the list tonight
[429.51] Frank: Oh, you know all these people are either flying or already commentating. So I'm I'm there now
[436.75] Niall: No, no, no, you were you were like at least top exactly
[442.47] Jack: To be proud to be in there. What about those drone over is
[449.43] Jack: That's good man
[451.07] Frank: So yeah, no, do you have any advice for me for the weekend?
[455.23] Niall: um, I think one of the things I always get from all of the pilots is that
[462.62] Niall: That the thing they like more than anything is is being bigged up. Yeah, right
[467.38] Niall: So we one of the things we did at Farnborough is for the for the final race is
[472.7] Niall: You know on wrestling where people make a walk out and they wave for everyone and then they walk out
[477.46] Niall: We did that for the pilots and we came up with like little mini
[481.22] Niall: Sound bites for all of the pilots and all of the pilots said actually that made this feel really special
[487.54] Niall: because usually
[488.98] Niall: You know you guys will know you turn up to the finals and event
[492.16] Niall: Somebody reads out a list and then they're like two minutes get ready. You've got a fly
[496.96] Niall: Whereas because it was a two-day event and it was a lot of work. We actually you know what let's
[501.88] Niall: Let's make them feel special. They've worked really hard to get here. And that was they really enjoyed that
[508.16] Niall: I think other than that just just a sense of humor. I'm always told by guys like jab and Dan wearing that
[516.72] Niall: my sense of sarcasm
[522.12] Niall: You know don't be afraid to
[526.04] Frank: Yeah, yeah good the other thing I saw from Matt his comment about it Matt Evans
[532.72] Frank: Was that as long as it's not silent?
[534.72] Frank: That's it's a lot better just doesn't like being sitting around waiting for the next race in silence
[540.68] Frank: So I'll keep that in mind and just keep rambling on as long as I can about anything and everything that I can
[546.84] Frank: Get in my head at the time
[550.54] Niall: Yeah, and this is so this is why I've been really good mates with with with Craig and
[558.98] Niall: Just sort of working with him
[560.74] Niall: is that actually having the pair of you being able to bounce ideas of each other and tell each other jokes and
[566.86] Niall: And sort of keep it going is is is really good
[570.02] Niall: And it keeps everybody really interested because it there's there's a conversation going and you you two will be fine
[576.66] Niall: You two have a great time. I'm a little guide, but I have to go to a wedding
[581.54] Niall: But you know
[583.22] Frank: Sometimes sacrifices have to be made because it's going to be quite a heavy production value event by the sounds of it from what?
[591.58] Frank: Dom and Jamal were talking about a couple of weeks ago on here and
[596.7] Frank: From what I've heard Timor and Dom are organizing for it. There's going to be a lot of things going on
[603.9] Frank: in terms of like
[606.46] Frank: pilot biographies and
[608.74] Frank: Not all chat things like booze where we're going to have hopefully cameras
[613.98] Frank: And it's all going to be streamed live and it's going to be quite entertaining. I think
[619.02] Niall: So there's a lot to look up to so yeah, so yeah a lot going on as so that I think there's been
[626.86] Niall: So this is this is the thing about the UK is we've had some flashy events in
[631.54] Niall: World right like you know that the big event that was in Korea
[634.86] Niall: The big Sam pit sort of gate and then there was Dubai and then there's all the the world drone
[641.5] Niall: Nationals, whatever that was in the GoPro Red Bull sponsored one. There's been a lot of flashy events
[648.14] Niall: but there's not been a lot of I
[650.94] Niall: think
[652.86] Niall: Effort put into to getting people interested
[656.14] Niall: You know like like a show like formula one people can watch formula one on the TV
[661.06] Niall: Even though they're not there and we've we've been putting a lot of effort into coming up with that
[667.34] Niall: And the format that means that if you're not there, you're still going to be interested in the event and and
[674.54] Niall: Since since last year we've made massive strides and moving forward
[678.98] Niall: We're making massive massive strides and I think the formula of PV is is going to kick it up a notch as well
[684.74] Niall: So I'm yeah, very gutted. I'm not
[688.38] Jack: We'll let your girlfriend know that you said that if I ever meet her
[693.06] Jack: She's deprived you
[697.14] Niall: She knows no, she knows yeah all the Skype calls where I've had to tell pair that people that I'm not coming and and and
[704.58] Niall: All the rote racing guys and tomorrow and Neil have told me that it's not
[711.06] Jack: Is anyone gonna be streaming the event? Is there any way you can like yeah, it's on the TV

[719.94] Jae: Yeah, I might get I'm hoping to get down on the Sunday if you're gonna be down there Jack

[729.54] Jack: I'm not too sure like I'm just I'm kind of like relying on on Brad is to get me there really

[749.62] Jack: You know, if he is going down the Sunday, I will will go with him, you know, I've got nothing on this weekend. So

[803.5] Jack: It's coming to the do you reckon it's coming to the end of flying season? No, you know
[807.18] Jack: Well, there's no getting there. No, definitely not. I think we still go. No, we've got another month
[812.26] Jae: I think all the way up to December them. Yeah good weather and let's face it. You've still got the colorful months of autumn to enjoy
[819.46] Jack: Yeah, true where everything does look really lovely exactly and rich and gallatin camera
[828.78] Niall: I'm a little disappointed right now guys. Did you guys not turn up to all of the the rotor racing indoor event? I went to the triangle. I
[837.22] Niall: Yeah, the triangle that like we held a race at the triangle like every two months pretty pretty solid. That's
[843.78] Niall: Yeah, it's good going that well
[847.5] Jack: I'd like the triangle events. They were are you guys not banned from like destroying their floor?
[852.02] Niall: No, no, no, or even nearly setting it on fire. No, no, they're trying to punish me
[860.46] Niall: Was that a battery incident?
[863.26] Niall: It was yeah, I'm not gonna name names, but I think I have heard this story
[871.02] Niall: Even better sort of that so
[874.46] Frank: Toasted toasted it. Yeah, so in the in the BFP VRA we can just make sure that he's not, you know burning money

[888.5] Frank: We'll just have to make sure there's no fire there guy Brett
[891.74] Niall: Yeah, he's apparently Brett is one of the best drone racers in the world. Hang on. No, he is
[900.78] Niall: Alongside Luke the best drone racer in the world. Did you guys know that is this the thing that appeared in the telegraph recently?
[908.74] Niall: Is that what you're referencing? No, this is the the drone car. No
[913.78] Niall: Yeah
[917.18] Frank: The only way I found out about that was from a link someone had posted up on Facebook that was to a
[923.18] Frank: Telegraph article about the drone car in a video
[926.62] Frank: But other than that, I other than watching it and laughing a little it was
[931.78] Frank: You know, it was really good. It's really good. Well done all the slow-mo footage and and
[938.3] Frank: Matrix time whatever it's called and they all look really good and really nice
[942.5] Frank: But it was still quite amusing. Yeah, how they kind of talk about it, particularly in the Telegraph article was really amusing
[949.7] Frank: But yeah, so what was it was the story behind that because it sounds like you know a bit more than I do
[954.54] Niall: The drone corner. Yeah, no, no, not really. No, no, no
[958.7] Niall: It's I I knew that Brett and Luke had gone and done something
[962.82] Niall: But I think I think we're going to find that a lot of our pilots going around and doing all these cool things all the
[969.1] Niall: time at the moment and a Scott race course was one and and then the Argos stuff and
[976.1] Jae: Everybody's what even the Nissan ad wasn't it? You know, there's this
[981.5] Niall: That was yeah, that was jab. Yeah jab did the Nissan event as well
[985.14] Jae: I suppose it's because it is getting more mainstream to the masses and more exciting for technology and
[992.38] Jae: Speed of these things primarily it's the only thing that lets it down for being a TV sport is not being able to film it
[998.9] Jae: so

[1001.7] Niall: It's well that we're making strides on that all the time. So
[1006.3] Niall: It's it's definitely the next year next year
[1010.06] Niall: What is gonna be big for us and this year was was big for us with nine times as visible as we were last year
[1016.54] Niall: You know if you do like Google Trends on search for like drone racing
[1020.72] Niall: It's like this year has has been a good year and it's only gonna get well
[1026.24] Jack: I mean, we're making leaps with the Connex
[1032.32] Jack: HD stuff that's you know coming out now as well. It's finally getting into the hands of people and
[1039.8] Jack: You know, there's a few rumors about Canbus
[1043.28] Jack: ESEs and that so things are definitely stepping along
[1047.4] Jack: At an alarming rate, you know, so it is going to be literally watch this space and
[1054.96] Jack: you know like, you know, Red Bull's getting more and more involved and
[1060.32] Jack: You know obviously that Ford advert and stuff
[1063.4] Jack: So we are getting quite mainstream. Don't don't forget can't forget to mention that, you know, Tony in the Argos advert
[1071.87] Niall: Yeah, no, yeah, that was
[1074.15] Niall: Great as well. I mean this is
[1076.95] Niall: Soon been one awesome year for
[1080.71] Niall: publicity for
[1082.47] Niall: Visibility and and it's only only only going to get better
[1087.59] Jae: Jack, I think you also have to add that don't forget Tony's line of sight at the Star Wars. I

[1123.31] Jack: I'm not lying of sight. I just don't know how I'm gonna get him to do that without the use of money

[1316.03] Frank: Go pro boy, I don't want to know like all your no GoPro what they called

[1324.99] Frank: Faux pro. There we go. That's the one the faux pro. I want to know all about the best for a pro

[1338.35] Jae: Well, I was stung a long time ago when I got a cheaper one
[1342.19] Jae: 45 years ago was a cheaper version of a GoPro, but it wasn't there's nothing like it in a break

[1352.19] Jae: Eventually, so when I replaced it
[1354.11] Jae: I was quite surprised what you can get some of these smaller cameras to do with some of the scripts and stuff
[1360.03] Jae: And I'll wait to the next GoPro because they're still overpriced now two years out
[1365.35] Jack: So it's it's ridiculous, isn't it? Yeah, I
[1369.43] Jack: Haven't actually flown with my GoPro here. Oh for I let it to Tony. Why?
[1375.39] Jack: But yeah, I just I can't bring myself. Well for a laugh really

[1382.03] Jack: No, I haven't. No, not really. I don't know. I just I just yeah, I can't bring myself to do you have a ye

[1410.05] Frank: Devil's dyke. Yeah, well getting down is easy. It's getting back up again. That's the problem

[1469.77] Jack: Disrespecting anything I'd like to you know, like the 3d printer that PLA or ABS has become the tumor of the mini quad really
[1479.33] Frank: Well, that's why I work exclusively in nylon and none of this filament stuff no
[1486.05] Niall: I've not got any well, actually I do thinking about it. I do have 3d printed stuff. Oh my god. I

[1498.06] Jae: Consolation Jack I did actually have to superglue to Costa
[1501.86] Jae: Stirry things to my mount which is 3d printed so
[1506.64] Jae: For it to be useful again, so it's kind of a
[1510.04] Jae: Relation of organic. Yeah, it was nice at the time
[1515.16] Jack: Is it is it ABS or PLA cuz like if it's all if it's PLA then and you've had a coffee stirrer
