We are joined by Adam Geneva [7.6] Jack: hello [9.84] Jack: Jerry chip go from [11.84] Jack: Yeah, hello, everyone. Happy new year. I've noticed a few people think I say above you rather than above view [20.32] Jae: Yeah [21.6] Jae: Wow, I actually started off with above you as in I thought you know [26.04] Jae: It's above you and technically it is but I thought it might people might take offense [29.92] Jae: No, they might take events like it's above you. I'm sorry. You won't understand. So [36.44] Jack: And we're also joined by our favorite guinea pig Tony [43.16] Adam: He's against the eating of [46.68] Adam: Yes [50.6] Jae: Hello [52.6] Jae: The hell [54.6] Jae: Some parallels I mentioned at the moment is this real [60.72] Jae: No, well Frank may be coming joining us very shortly then it does look promising so stay tuned he might [66.2] Jack: He did speak just a moment ago. I did hear him. Yep [71.0] Frank: You still hear me. Yep. Oh, yeah [75.4] Jack: What the hell everyone's here welcome to the website [81.2] Jack: What's going on? I'm scared. Well, it just proves. We're not celebrities. We all survived 2016 [94.88] Jae: Yeah, he did he did maybe maybe it's to make room for some new talent, I don't know [100.68] Jae: maybe this [102.96] Adam: Or maybe some people have been given the opportunity to escape before though. Yeah, the real [110.64] Tony: Adam you look ten years younger [113.16] Adam: It don't I do look young. I was thinking that well while she was cutting it [116.8] Adam: I was like, oh I look younger and then oh my face looks different shape like I've now you can really see how fat I [129.48] Jae: Isn't that the fish eye webcam [131.52] Adam: Yeah, yes apples. Fuck. That's the second thing Apple have done to ruin things today [136.8] Adam: The other one [138.12] Adam: The slight lateness was because I couldn't find some headphones that would work with my Mac because the headphones that come with my iPhone [144.56] Adam: Don't fit into my computer. Thank you Apple [149.44] Jae: So anyway, this is a new year and [152.88] Jae: Jack basically referred to Tony as a guinea pig and so before the show we were thinking what we're gonna do for this year [158.2] Jae: there's many exciting things coming up isn't there in 2017 we made it 2017 and [162.52] Jae: We're thinking about doing some tests on Tony to see if we can make him a better more agile mentally agile pilot or a [170.12] Jae: Worst pilot through drugging him sort of abusing him either [173.28] Jae: I don't know basically is a guinea pig and we're gonna conduct some scientific experiments [176.44] Jae: So if anyone's listening tonight, we want to know sort of any example [181.12] Jae: Test that you'd like to see run on Tony the guinea pig [186.76] Adam: Well, no, you're bright and based I guess long [190.52] Jae: As long as they're a scientific validity, they will be considered [200.12] Jae: Yeah, it could be we might make you the best pilot you might get first patient might be flying around the world [205.64] Jae: So let's see, you know have some faith in us [209.28] Jae: Yeah, that would be nice [210.56] Adam: You do know that the people who run the drone racing league are ultimately responsible to or have to do the same drugs tests as the [218.24] Adam: Athletes the the same Federation as the IFA. They're really yeah, I was surprised as well. I found it out recently [226.2] Jae: But but if we use placebos and tell Tony he's taking performance enhance in drug [230.68] Jae: But he's only taking placebo then he gets the benefit maybe but he doesn't get he doesn't [235.28] Adam: So be honest, how often have you been asked to piss in a pot before competing? [240.12] Jae: but I think it's a valid thing actually because [243.24] Jae: You know, there's a lot of hand-eye coordination required for racing or even flying [248.88] Jae: Um, there's a lot of hand-eye coordination required yet [252.96] Jae: Perhaps people don't think about the mental agility that you can get from food, you know your food [263.24] Tony: Carrots carrots second World War carrot performance enhancing carrots [269.04] Adam: There's many a thing so that's why we're gonna have something you have to resist from doing in case you go blind [278.24] Tony: I [283.2] Jae: Eat more carrots then so you can see the duck [287.64] Jae: Eat more carrots and go yeah, but it's hard to believe we've actually made it through last year [294.2] Jae: So there's other I mean, there's gonna be a lot air shows. It's gonna be more race events [297.84] Tony: It's I'm looking forward to an exciting year ahead. I'm I'm hoping [302.52] Tony: That we don't have to use [304.84] Tony: Transponders anymore because I had yeah, there is that promising news [308.32] Tony: I had a go on the race box and it works fantastic and I and the fact that you don't have to put a transponder on [316.24] Tony: Your cord is so good [318.72] Tony: What side is he got me? What what what side left or right? It doesn't matter anymore [324.24] Tony: You just fly through the gate and it registers. So was it something to do with a black sheep [330.44] Tony: Thing. No, I use the race box one [333.56] Tony: Okay, like I think it's eight or seven add we knows [347.48] Tony: In a box [349.08] Tony: Programs and then you fly through the gate and the BTX bike picks up and it works it worked [356.16] Tony: We tried it Matthew Austin had one and we tried it a couple weekends ago and in Valley and it worked perfect [362.96] Tony: And you ain't got to worry about putting a transponder in your cord every time [367.32] Jae: and wiring it in and [374.56] Jae: Don't think they're always reliable because I mean if you have a crash that the contacts and stuff and transponders [379.68] Jae: You know, they don't always work. Mm-hmm. So hopefully with the BTX if you're not flying with the BTX and generally not racing [386.0] Tony: No [387.04] Jae: Not unless you're doing the yeah [389.04] Jae: I think [392.72] Frank: Sorry the the easy race lap time [398.32] Frank: Infrared version one as well. So there's like the combination of the two [404.0] Frank: It's like the pocket edition. It's the one that's the works with the VTX's. Yeah [409.72] Tony: That's the same one as we use but we had the race edition where you can do I eat of us [417.48] Frank: I mean, okay [419.6] Frank: Yeah, I think from what I can tell [423.4] Frank: the [426.72] Frank: The [428.76] Frank: PBR a ones are probably not gonna go over to VTX timing [435.04] Frank: Waiting for [437.56] Frank: All that it is like as millisecond accurate as the infrared ones [443.4] Jae: Well, the trouble is with a radiation pattern from a VTX you might get bleed forward when you haven't actually got there [450.36] Jae: Yeah, I don't think that there's other system that may work better [454.76] Jae: But it's probably you know, I think often all too often [458.16] Jae: It's not easy for people to get a rough timing guide set up between small [462.72] Jae: events and I think steps like this are good for the [467.4] Adam: Yeah, just start [469.48] Adam: Serious event couldn't you very sneakily put something that slightly increases the pulse of power from your VTX as you're approaching the game [479.32] Adam: So you get registered just a moment earlier than you would have been [485.12] Jae: Because after your first one you'd be trying to start where you next on the next one [489.12] Jae: So in theory, you'd only gain a little bit of time out of the whole three five lap thing [494.0] Jae: But well, but the cost was always a factor and that's why a lot of people haven't bought into it [499.28] Jae: So I just hope there's a minute. I see I feel [503.6] Adam: Don't entirely know what we're talking about [505.4] Adam: What we're saying is that the gate will just measure this for a frequency of your drone of the video signal [512.0] Adam: Transmits as it goes through you won't have to stick on an extra piece [515.72] Jae: That's just well if you had a highly directional receiving antenna, so in other words, it's only receiving once it passes one point [521.56] Jae: I eat the gate [523.08] Jae: You can make it pretty much act quite accurate to what you're doing [526.48] Jae: So, you know, I think it'd be within a fraction of a second [532.24] Frank: It's just how much for a fraction of a second does it make a difference between [535.72] Frank: You know the wavelength of infrared versus the wavelength of yeah, but how many times have I [542.32] Tony: Flamed through a gate and because you're not flying through a gate level the transponds are as an registered [549.0] Tony: You can fly through a gate upside down with the race box and it works [554.56] Frank: Exactly. It's like you can either have something that will pick up every every one every time [559.88] Frank: Yeah, maybe it'll pick up people when it shouldn't [563.48] Frank: Thing which is never gonna pick up a wrong one, but it might sometimes miss a few [568.72] Jae: Well, there's no any costs of the VTX lap timing system then has anyone got any ballpark figures. It was about [577.04] Frank: 70 [579.04] Frank: Euros something like that [581.84] Tony: If I've quit if you buy the one timer for yourself if you buy the one what does eight pilots or more I think it's like [591.68] Tony: 600 quid but don't quote me on that [596.28] Jae: Should we just buy [599.2] Tony: Yeah, you can plug it into a laptop or run it off a [603.08] Tony: Tablet or something like that. So it's when I used it when we used it the other weekend. It was really good [609.8] Tony: That's all I can say. It was really good and you can set out if you wanted to you could like GPS mark all your gates [617.36] Tony: around a track [618.72] Tony: Like one one week we all race around that one track that we've laid out GPS mark everything and then come back the next night [625.8] Tony: Right time to add the fastest lap [628.32] Tony: Let's set up the same track and do it again and see who can beat them [632.88] Adam: You know [639.44] Adam: Oh, no, not for the whole lap. I mean, I thought it would calculate, you know individual little bits of information [643.76] Frank: No, don't worry. The I know the TBS one does [650.04] Frank: Lit lap timing and all that sort of thing [653.16] Frank: and it can even generate like maps like a sort of [656.76] Frank: Guesstimated map of how far different people are around laps because you know [661.36] Frank: so enormous, so [664.48] Tony: Kind of need a map Jack. Why don't you come on and ask this question? [669.92] Jack: Because we haven't heard from you for about [683.72] Jack: One I didn't want to interrupt and for some reason I've got like quite bad [691.44] Jack: Internet in a way you're skipping out ever so slightly, but I am following the chat [696.76] Jack: So I'm not really saying much [699.36] Jack: my video off [702.24] Jae: Jack is gonna he's already working on the sort of scientific tests to be working on Tony. I think [708.2] Tony: Jack tell us what Ian Payne asks. Oh, yeah, Ian Payne asks [712.72] Jack: Has anyone ever tried the free sky Taranis RSS I? [717.28] Jack: based lap timer, I [719.72] Jack: Think this is the quick one, right? I [722.92] Jack: don't know I [724.4] Jae: Think this is the one isn't just when you [727.88] Jae: Yeah [729.44] Jae: Isn't it just when you signal the strongest it counts a lap timer as you pass yourself? [733.84] Jae: But that's what I believe it does in it because I know some people are tested basic versions of it [738.4] Jae: But how reliable can that be if you're talking about a receiving antenna for your? [742.76] Jae: Transmitter as opposed to perhaps the VTX on a on a gate, you know where it's weak properly [749.52] Jack: One is he talking about with a switch, you know like you can switch [754.4] UNKNOWN: I [755.56] Tony: Think so. I think GFP V has got everything to do that [760.6] Tony: Taranis one [762.72] Tony: He just hasn't had time to say out and now this race box has come out the race box that I tried was really really good [770.4] Jack: Is that the one that Dom had at the? [774.4] Tony: It was the one Matt Austin had a couple of weekends ago at in many [778.88] Jae: You you know something you can actually get a spectrum receiver now for those that still fly spectrum [784.4] Jae: It does lap timing. I believe it's on [787.4] Jae: signal strength [789.32] Jack: Does it take into account for dropouts? [793.48] Jack: Exactly [801.4] Jae: I mean is it is it's what level of [804.8] Jae: Resolution do you want like it's for having a set course around your local cheese or something [809.72] Jae: It can be quite nice to have a rough time of it. Maybe a TX based or whatever whatever method [815.28] Jae: but I I know especially [818.28] Jae: thing a [820.44] Jae: VTX at 70 quid, but if that only does one pilot is it is a quiet and she will [824.64] Tony: Amount I think it's 40. I think the race box [829.04] Tony: Is like 40 45 quid and it does your own count. It does one person. I'm sure the one what does [837.12] Tony: Eight pilots is like 600 quid, but I'm not and so I'm not you have to [843.76] Jae: Do you modify your start finish gate for that with something for that to work? [848.68] Tony: No, yeah, I think it's just a box next to your gate [851.8] Tony: Yeah, it's just a box pretty much near the gate, and it you you type in whatever [858.08] Tony: frequency or on times is on [860.6] Tony: 58 22 whatever [862.6] Tony: So he's on that keeping you up Adam again. Sorry about that all right. Well if it makes this thing again. I forgot the name, so [870.56] Jae: Did you try I don't know that easy race. Sorry easy race. Yeah, let's get them on the show [876.84] Jae: Let's let's give them the hard questions. How accurate come on [879.92] Jae: Can we have one to touch? [883.28] Tony: Let me see if I can ask Matt to come on because he was yeah, he was he helped [890.28] Tony: Write the code for it, so let me find out if he's amount [894.52] Jae: We may have [897.0] Tony: Myself and see if I can get in contact with him for a sec [901.88] Adam: Before you do Tony [903.88] Adam: Oh, I lost him already [906.76] Adam: When when people when you when you race, and I don't know who from the rest of his races [912.56] Adam: How what's the sort of difference between the winner and the person who comes second person who comes third like in? [918.4] Adam: Fractions of seconds in a competition typically depends who designed the track [924.68] Adam: Alright just depends on the size of the track yeah, I appreciate that [934.12] Tony: I've overtaken like on the on on the gate a few times like [940.24] Tony: People have coming in to the gate, you know just beat him at the gate, so it's a pretty narrow [944.84] Tony: I mean you can tell [947.96] Tony: But it's not only that it's like if you set out a GPS base track that you can do and [953.52] Tony: Set up a couple of times in a year [957.16] Tony: You could go around and go right Tony done this in 27 seconds [962.36] Adam: That's become a legend [964.68] Tony: That's the one you got to beat and then someone could beat it and then their time to go up and then you [970.6] Tony: Do a few more tracks another few weeks and then set that track back up [975.76] Tony: And then you've got to beat whoever's up next you know [981.08] Jack: I've been doing you know Thomas and all that that's you know [984.6] Jack: I've been setting up the similar size track laying out exactly the same and then handing their videos on [991.32] Jack: YouTube with a set time yes, and [998.16] Jae: Whoa, we got over check very much. I can't back [1001.24] Jae: I [1002.84] Jack: See what I mean my internet's crap. Yeah, that's cool. Jack. What's good to hear from you, man? [1006.84] Jae: I mean you part of the show [1011.56] Adam: Here's the show man [1016.6] Adam: Yeah, I get the impression that his vision might have gone red [1019.88] Adam: And he might have like little words over it like human casualties naught point naught [1025.52] Adam: kill [1027.52] Jae: You know I've just paused the live chat just to join the chat, and it's paused on Jack's head look. I'm very excited I [1034.28] Jae: Mean it looks across between like he's just got his best Christmas present ever and he's come face [1048.8] Jae: No cuz it says live, but I will take a screenshot of it. She's a good Z [1055.84] Jack: Put it put it in the chat did you ever write in a chat? [1060.4] Jae: Now yeah, well now. I've got a quite a keyboard. I don't get called miss money penny, so it's easier [1065.24] Jae: I like that. That's cool. It's even those links [1069.92] Jae: Yeah, I it's a bad it. Can I place them into straight to the chat? [1074.52] Jae: Yeah, because you're a model well, so I was listening actually because it's not always on on paring on [1080.96] Jae: Be sure to head over to the bright until I fly [1084.12] Jae: YouTube page was a live video where you can join in the chat or [1087.12] Jae: Is somebody looking after the pairing on chat by the way hello to the people there I went in there [1091.16] Adam: It's absolutely dead. Yeah, let's let's stick with one. It's confusing other way [1095.08] Jae: Yeah, well I can if you want to join the chat if you want to let you know some questions [1099.2] Jae: I'll say we're doing a rubbish job. That's more than welcome do it on the YouTube live chat [1103.48] Jae: Maybe this year we'll get it on the proper. Let's join out so you can just say the let's join out chat [1107.2] Jae: And people will find it easier. This is probably one of our to do [1110.96] Jae: It's a [1114.24] Jack: Binary throttle asks Tony. How does GPS work if the earth is flat and gravity's made up? [1128.44] Adam: From radio masks all right there geostationary satellites that above they don't they just stay there. Let's stop to the ceiling [1136.44] Tony: realization from aerial masks [1141.88] Tony: Like your position the space lizards hold them in place. I [1147.68] Tony: Was saying GPS for you mere mortals [1153.16] Frank: Testle farts [1157.8] Tony: The glistened people tell you how fast you can go get cool from whoever that was I didn't hear his name [1165.08] Tony: And binary throttle, I believe I think I know that [1177.24] Tony: Didn't win [1181.6] Jack: Out of the system before the show started Tony [1185.48] Jack: Clearly does anyone want to buy Tony's car? [1189.56] Jack: There's a hundred pound off every time he swears in this episode [1194.68] Tony: It has no mo tea and no tax at the moment [1198.28] Adam: So yeah, we buy any car are the only people you can imagine [1202.6] Jack: What car is it gonna get towed away soon? [1205.64] Tony: Well, hopefully not I'm trying to get through his mo tea tomorrow or Saturday [1210.76] Tony: But it's got no tax or anything [1212.96] Tony: So obviously you can't get tax about mo tea my mo tea run out the day [1217.52] Tony: I was trying to get tax and it said you have no mo tea. I was like oh my god [1222.8] Jae: Tony you are aware that you're allowed to drive your car on tax without an MIT on the road as long as it's to a [1228.6] Jae: Garage. Yeah, I know that [1231.96] Tony: Yeah, no, no, it's cool. I've booked in for [1236.08] Tony: Saturday, so it's fine. I'll do your MIT driving up here and we'll go flying it will pass [1243.56] Tony: He's been asked if it's a BMW it's a Bentley, isn't it? I would never drive a BMW. It's a Japanese import [1253.32] Jack: Like [1255.92] Jack: With a really nice number plate [1258.4] Jack: What is it? You got to keep it for the number plate time? No, I know. I've already thought about that [1264.76] Tony: I can't have T1 FPV on my van [1274.16] Jack: So earlier on this couple days ago I said [1279.8] Jack: Frank you I sent a little [1286.24] Jack: Well, I think regards Chelmsford the birthplace of radio [1292.6] Jack: Has banned all drones apparently is that right? [1300.5] Frank: What I don't know it's awkward trains his who banned say that again [1305.46] Adam: Essex County town Chelmsford, which is possibly one of the most unpleasant places I've ever been [1315.86] Frank: In there anyway, no so screw them [1320.9] Jack: Why do you [1323.18] Jack: What is it? [1324.66] Jack: Charles Dickens said that if I had to name the most boring is spot on the face of earth [1331.14] Adam: I would say Chelmsford Chelmsford's moved on a bit since then though. The whole Essex [1343.06] Jack: Why do you hate it I [1345.14] Adam: Used to have a friend who worked for mark only who are still or were still quite a big employer in the area [1351.26] Adam: You know, they started their radio transmissions and then they didn't feel like moving [1355.38] Adam: But [1358.3] Adam: It just wasn't didn't seem his bit of town didn't seem very nice [1367.51] Jae: Blame the town [1380.59] Jack: What was that even I sent you [1383.11] Frank: Yeah, so Jack earlier today sent me a document so it's the [1390.51] Frank: IPCC [1392.95] Frank: Least under I believe by looking for from the link is a [1398.19] Frank: request and it's the police's [1402.19] Frank: general advice I [1406.98] Frank: Did its two offices on drones legislation and dealing with misuse? [1411.06] Frank: it's the advice to police for what to do when you see someone being naughty with a drone and [1416.42] Frank: What does? [1418.26] Frank: Mean and [1424.98] Frank: There's a few issues with it the thing is I don't know I'm trying to work out at the moment [1432.18] Frank: Latest one or whether it has been updated since this has been published because there are a few wishes with it [1438.26] Frank: Which is why it was posted on Facebook, which is how Jack got out of it [1440.98] Frank: Which is why he sent it to me because one thing it says [1445.1] Frank: Whether the pilot is wearing FPV goals if they are this is an offense [1457.14] Frank: Unless he's got a mic standing next to him actually, but it doesn't make any mention of that and it's definitely [1466.78] Frank: the [1469.38] Frank: At least two of the FPV exemptions [1475.02] Frank: Exemption one one six eight, I believe [1479.82] Frank: Yeah, that's been around [1483.74] Frank: Definitely it has to be renewed as we published been renewed every year has been yeah, I [1490.98] Frank: Don't see why that would be an issue [1492.7] Frank: but yeah, obviously that hasn't got through to these people and they've said a few other things like [1497.98] Frank: an aggravating factor for [1500.74] Frank: offenses against the [1502.26] Frank: A&O the air navigation order one of them is one of the aggravating [1507.1] Frank: Factors would be flying in a public building [1512.75] Frank: What I would have thought [1516.95] Jae: It only covers a space [1519.83] Jae: Yeah, it's not given by a CIA or anything like that [1522.63] Adam: Although the CIA do think of themselves as covering inside buildings [1527.23] Frank: I don't know. I mean what I've spoken to [1529.59] Frank: They don't want anything to do it. They're happy not have anything to do with [1534.91] Adam: Yeah, yeah, not not the not the nice people who you ever speak to when you have those things [1540.31] Adam: People who run the people who run the courses [1543.27] Adam: Describe themselves as actually which I thought was interesting. So different people that have different views on the subject is probably the best [1551.15] Adam: You see ultimately [1553.79] Frank: Did it [1556.67] Frank: Legislation that they should be aware of when dealing with [1561.59] Frank: drone users and and the first one on the list is the sexual offenses Act 2003 [1568.87] Frank: section 67 67 voyeurism [1572.27] Frank: the first thing the [1574.55] Frank: First bit of legislation that the police should be aware when dealing with a drone user before anything to do with aviation [1581.99] Jae: That's mentioned how I know that [1584.71] Jae: What what it is they put you on the back foot, isn't it? [1587.51] Jae: Because they as soon as you've got a camera on it recording and even if it's a surveillance camera like FPV camera [1592.43] Jae: You can potentially see an image and that's where they're they're using that to their advantage because it does a [1599.55] Jae: Mean it's a different sort of aircraft. It's a surveillance aircraft and be [1604.79] Jae: It's not as easy to then say actually it's not like that at all blah blah blah. They've already got you on the back foot [1611.71] Jae: But [1614.39] Adam: Any policeman is with you saying anything about sexual offenses [1618.43] Adam: You're suddenly going to agree with anything else [1620.67] Adam: He says and get the hell out of there before he charges you and you can't go near schools [1627.39] Jae: Well, I think you could stand up in court and say look it was FPV here's some footage blah blah blah [1632.35] Jae: I wasn't fine with people, you know that you could easily show that even with recorded GoPro footage [1637.59] Jae: It's not looking at people the closest they'd get is if you're yawing around someone, but let's face it [1643.15] Jae: We all just you're around each other which we kind of give that unwritten consent anyway, because we fly together [1648.79] Jae: So I don't think you would ever get to the levels in court of that standing up [1654.11] Jae: But it just means that please have that power to put you on the back foot to move you on [1658.63] Adam: You know, it isn't just drones in fairness. The police can always take advantage of whatever rules like, you know [1665.39] Adam: And at least we're not say driving near Leeds [1668.99] Frank: On the other interesting thing was that with the with having the cameras on it and so the footage and images are probably recorded somewhere [1676.31] Frank: It makes very clear [1679.11] Frank: To the police like you do not have any [1683.19] Frank: stand-on to require [1686.23] Frank: images [1687.71] Frank: Unless they're a terrorist if you have reasonable suspicion that they might be a terrorist [1692.39] Frank: then you can make sure that they [1696.07] Tony: Aren't you record in a public but surely you have [1700.59] Adam: Anyone that you fancy is a terrorist or not fancy, you know what I mean? [1705.75] Adam: This person is flying something around in the sky. I think they're probably a terrorist better check [1715.63] Jae: There's somebody posted in one of the groups saying I don't want to buy a quad [1718.39] Jae: I think it was one of the junk junk card groups. I want to buy a quad for 80 pounds [1722.19] Jae: It doesn't need to carry a camera anything, but it needs to go high as high as it can and [1728.07] Jae: Well, no, but they're saying you need to carry a small weight now [1731.07] Jae: it could be everything anything from scientific stuff to anything and the trouble is the [1736.03] Jae: Things like that just only provoke public perception of these things [1740.27] Adam: Well, and in not just public perception. I think he's a [1743.91] Jae: Yeah [1747.35] Jae: Well, you just don't know do you I mean I just want to go really high [1753.31] Jae: Yeah, I don't want to carry camera. No, thanks. I don't want to see how I go. I just want to carry [1758.27] Jae: I don't know my poor pet hamster up there [1761.83] Jae: My house will tell me [1773.31] Jae: In fact in fact to fly over a ski lodge if you think the only things you're allowed to put on a [1780.63] Jae: Like aircraft because I think it came down to rockets and all that is insects. I think they let you fire insects on these things [1786.95] Adam: But yeah, I think there's specific [1790.43] Jae: Yeah, you can't necessarily put animals on these things anyway [1798.67] Adam: Who [1800.67] Adam: Oh, I give him shit about insects who wouldn't even eat you wouldn't eat a spider [1808.59] Tony: No, no, I take pictures he eats them every year about seven [1823.43] Tony: Right, anyway, let's change the subject I have bought today a fox ear [1829.75] Tony: Arrow has any one [1832.83] Jae: New one. They're a new one [1834.43] Jae: Is that the because I have and the only fault I have is a lot of people break them [1839.91] Jae: And sometimes the screws push the chip off the inside board of the first one [1843.27] Jae: I got and the voltage doesn't work unless you run a wire into the back so unless they've changed [1846.99] Jae: I could think of them is that shit and and the white balance needs to be just where and [1852.75] Jae: That's about it. That's my thoughts, but I might fix a few of that. I might take it back [1858.79] Jae: I [1863.43] Tony: Did you take your voltage from for a stop can it come from the board like that if you run a year [1870.59] Jae: A lead [1872.59] Jae: You've got to know you got it. Well you [1874.83] Jae: You can measure whatever you want [1876.27] Jae: But it's got to come through you've got to solder a direct lead onto the board only the the positive [1881.51] Tony: What's so just at anywhere on the PDB or just or to a he can't just pick a spot and solder to it [1887.91] Tony: You have to see where I think [1891.63] Jae: There is I think it's clearly didn't marked on the board [1894.11] Jae: But there's plenty of guides if you Google it you will find the exact spot [1898.85] Jae: But check your version because I might have actually changed it from the version I had [1904.83] Adam: One was terrible [1906.35] Jae: you can't use long screws at the really small metric size because often they'll push through the side of the case and push the chip off the [1913.07] Jae: tracks and you [1914.67] Jae: Basically, you might get your SD, but you'll just get a blank thing. I don't know if it's this is the [1921.23] Tony: V2 or V1. I don't know if there's a V2. I think they [1925.99] Jack: Thought you said it was a V2 at the beginning. It's a CC the Sony super had [1944.63] Adam: it [1955.39] Jae: No, we don't want to know what that is stop it children children [1963.91] Jack: You know the [1966.35] Jack: the OSD [1968.55] Jack: changing [1970.43] Jack: Yes, or a circuit board thing you've got like a little white clip halfway along the wire [1977.79] Jack: like a little [1979.55] Jack: socket [1980.87] Jack: Is that how you determine V1 or V2? Yeah, V? [1984.71] Jack: V [1986.83] Jack: V1 there was no other way to like disconnect it then other other than like pulling the the actual [1993.95] Jack: Molex little pinned it out, but that's about it [2000.91] Tony: I've got this thing [2004.27] Jack: Yeah, look in the in the chat keep talking Tony [2007.63] Tony: I've got this thing. What do you want me to look at? [2010.27] Jack: Have a look at the wire has he got like a little connector in the middle of the wire. Yeah, that's a V2 [2016.79] Tony: So look this is right [2019.79] Adam: So it's not a doodle bug. It's the other one [2023.39] Tony: Yeah, so I've got that. Yep [2027.23] Tony: If it's got that little connector take that apart there, yeah [2031.67] Jack: Yeah, there was no connector on the V1 [2034.63] Jae: so I do believe the [2038.11] Jae: Local fly to you all down there a test crash test dummy flyer as in Clinton has tried one of the V2s [2044.51] Jae: And they've managed to smash the case open Oh [2048.11] Tony: Clinton can smash [2051.11] Jae: But what I'm gonna say is what I'm gonna say is I don't know if the classics age very tough and [2057.47] Jae: be [2058.51] Jae: He had some white balance issues, and I think that's the reason he had a crash [2062.39] Jae: Because you do need to adjust it from the standard. I don't think it the white balance is set very well [2069.79] Tony: So you can change everything yeah, so make sure you do before you test it that's always put [2077.15] Tony: You mean [2080.11] Tony: Before I fly anyway cuz [2082.27] Jae: Benny settings are really good. Do you want to share them with everyone? I mean everyone deserves good camera settings. I [2089.07] Tony: Think he should I [2092.03] Tony: Can't put it back in the box if I want to take it back anyway [2096.07] Tony: But damn it [2099.11] Jae: So there's the monsters a monster [2102.67] Tony: Like two cases, so if you ruin one case you can put on the other case [2109.19] Tony: Well done Tony [2113.55] Tony: What I'm worried about is [2116.39] Tony: I [2117.19] Tony: Land when my timer goes off. Yeah [2121.23] Tony: My timer does like two minutes 15 [2125.39] Tony: When I know I need to land, but I'm worried about having this on [2130.87] Tony: My camera where it's gonna pay me off having Foxy written across it and having a timer going off and [2138.19] Tony: Having the voltage just going up and down because it's all very well good [2145.95] Tony: Because as soon as you punch the air it goes down and then you slow down and let you know come down off your punch [2152.87] Tony: And it goes back up again [2154.31] Jae: So okay my view is my view is cuz let's face it [2156.79] Jae: Yeah, you can punch up and they can come down [2158.31] Jae: But if you just do 10 seconds of level flying not exerting it and you know what voltage is at that [2163.19] Jae: you've got a good idea as to what it might be at and [2166.47] Jae: The I'm a fan of timer and only planning fly into my time limit [2172.23] Jae: Because I've killed so many batteries not doing that [2175.79] Jae: But now I've moved from some drone lamps and some achy batteries and they give them a much longer fly time or at least [2181.87] Jae: You can't tell the power side because sometimes you can tell when a battery is at towards the end of his life [2186.67] Jae: but [2187.87] Jae: Also, some of the other batteries seem to have that more more staying power [2191.19] Jae: So having a voltage reference is always a great thing [2194.03] Jae: I find just even to just have that few seconds level flight. Oh, it's at 13 volts [2199.27] Jae: Maybe I'll land, you know, I always say voltage is a good thing. Even if you've got time [2203.55] Tony: I agree if you're freestyling, but if you're racing and you've like got [2210.59] Tony: Too much stuff going on why you're trying to concentrate [2214.71] Tony: overtake people [2216.35] Tony: Remember the track is it gonna be a hindrance having so much [2220.99] Jae: Information on this well, what we'll do is we'll cooperate that into our into our sort of tests on new Tony [2226.03] Jae: We'll see if you can handle it without with him and out whether you drugged [2229.23] Jae: Drunk or anything, you know throwing water over here while you're flying see if we can refresh you and get you excited [2233.79] Frank: We'll test all these things. Don't worry. Okay, let me touch a nipple. Let's worried about [2239.83] Jae: Jack don't you do that. Anyway, I know you didn't get married, but surely you're still [2244.23] Adam: Yeah, but they haven't done it scientifically yet [2250.87] Tony: Jay Jay is on the slow gin and liking it. No, you know what? No, no, it's actually quite fun [2256.87] Jae: I'm actually feeling good about this year. I actually signed up for the BFP VRA FPV VV RA [2263.99] Jae: Racing Association for the first time so yeah mine run [2267.51] Tony: Yeah, cuz it's a days ago. I need to do redo it again [2271.39] Jae: So, you know [2273.47] Jae: Yeah, it's good for you to [2276.19] Tony: Enjoy I'm looking forward to this year [2278.95] Tony: It's let's up the Sun's on its way and not on its way out. It's coming back [2284.47] Jae: By the way, if we're lucky enough lucky enough to have anyone who flies FPV in Barcelona [2289.79] Jae: I'm gonna be there in June and I'd love to fly somewhere around there. So [2294.47] Adam: You're not gonna miss some response [2300.91] Adam: May or may not happen [2302.95] Frank: What it's June [2308.55] Jae: Festival for about 13 years and I figured this year of any I'm gonna do it. So is that the what's it called? [2317.59] Jae: It's kind of like a music and creative tech Jack you'd love it [2321.11] Jae: They have like all sorts of creative technologies and stuff Frank. Please tell me some this pawns on [2327.35] Jae: Yeah, I think it is [2339.31] Tony: It's so relaxing it's on this bomb [2344.59] Adam: Being the opposite of relaxing no [2348.35] Jae: Brilliant. Okay. Okay Adam camping plus booze [2352.31] Jae: Equals yeah apart from in the middle of the night when you need to get up and go for a pee [2361.79] Tony: I'm over the hill Tony. I'll be mates 10 in it [2370.79] Jae: No [2371.79] Jae: I'm never camping whilst your pin value ever again [2375.47] Jae: No, I thought you were like peace loving in and vegan [2380.67] Jae: Still allowed to mark his territory [2388.47] Jack: That's horrid at least, you know, it'll be vegan pee it will be [2394.35] Jack: What are the benefits of the [2397.03] Jack: BFPV are I [2400.11] Jae: Exactly tiny tellers because I was gonna ask that question. Was that from the chat? He asked that [2405.31] Tony: Frank should answer that I [2408.19] Frank: Should [2410.03] Frank: So you get to piss [2414.61] Frank: Okay, just yeah good question in pain call yourself Jack you'll be fine [2420.73] Frank: And the BFPV RA British FPV racing Association [2425.65] Frank: It's a non non-profit. It's a the kind of specialist body of the [2432.61] Frank: BMFA [2435.05] Frank: Completely separate membership [2437.97] Frank: The [2439.81] Frank: BFPV RA will give you is a [2444.93] Frank: number that will allow you to [2449.69] Frank: Qualifying events and British Championship and stuff like that [2455.01] Frank: There is a members area and forum on the website that you'll get access to [2461.33] Frank: You get variety entry to [2464.21] Frank: To vents. What was that? [2467.13] Frank: Does anyone use that chat? [2469.97] Frank: It gets used basically for organizing events. It's the main give you a number mainly [2476.09] Frank: That's the main thing really a number and a membership card in the lanyard and an overwhelming sense of gratification [2484.41] Frank: for supporting when should I feel that [2489.01] Frank: Throughout the year when I get [2491.33] Jae: At least [2494.57] Jack: When you receive your lanyard put it around your neck nothing else [2511.69] Jae: Just tell you one thing for signing up you don't get much back up and thanks for the money [2515.61] Jae: so obviously the season hasn't even started and [2519.61] Jae: But there's regular contact [2525.89] Frank: Many the events the cost of [2529.57] Frank: Is basically the cost of running the database and website because what the whole point of the number is is that your name and details? [2539.49] Frank: Connected to that number in the database and so when the events organizer wants to organize an event [2545.37] Frank: Rather than getting every person to put in all their details and trying to chase everyone up and everyone knows [2552.69] Frank: That's an issue like you don't want to start off your weekend with [2557.69] Frank: people running around trying to work out who is who and what channels everyone on and [2562.89] Frank: You know, where are they how do we get harder than weren't they here? Yeah, so it's [2569.65] Frank: Basically, it's making it a lot easier for events organizers to organize events [2575.25] Frank: And it's but you know as part of that [2578.81] Frank: The dealing with the BMFA off-com [2583.37] Frank: CAA and the FAI to make sure that [2587.81] Frank: Flying FPV and that races can [2592.09] Frank: more [2593.65] Frank: You know sort of mainstream sport in the the FAI [2598.69] Frank: so last year that was how the [2602.69] Frank: Queens Cup [2605.29] Frank: World so if you remember [2607.89] Frank: We covered it at the time. We had some field recording as well, but the the Queens Cup is a [2614.73] Frank: UK trophy is one of the oldest [2618.33] Frank: Competitive trophies in the world, but for the past [2622.21] Frank: Few decades it's been for aviation sports [2626.97] Frank: Everything from cross cross-air cross-country gliding to [2631.89] Frank: aerobatics [2633.09] Frank: like full-scale [2635.37] Frank: But then last year it was given to FPV racing. So the BMFA [2642.53] Frank: PVRA ran the Queens Cup event [2648.32] Frank: to run that as a you know, is a that where you want or [2656.47] Frank: The trophy that's you know proper aviation full-scale trophy [2661.75] Frank: So [2663.11] Jae: The trouble with racing though of these league events and stuff it's great for the people that have been flying me [2668.19] Jae: You know year two years and stuff that have been racing like Tony and gone to events a bar [2673.35] Jae: I guess we don't have many events for new people even wanting to try it out and stuff like that [2679.07] Jae: But I think there might be something in May [2681.87] Jae: This year for even those pilots [2683.55] Jae: They would like to at least have a go but not feeling like they want to go up against the fast pilots [2688.07] Jae: They're just instantly gonna set up lap times and stuff. Yeah, I think [2692.63] Tony: I think we should have a let us drown out type thing. Does that next year? Yeah [2698.03] Frank: Yeah, that drone games was quite fun last year. So I definitely want to do that [2703.43] Frank: obviously [2705.43] Frank: The team in the air show event [2707.99] Jae: Yeah [2710.51] Jae: International drone day [2712.55] Jae: Which is until it's dirty, you know, so yeah. Yeah, it'll be cool [2717.43] Frank: Move too far away from BFP array for anyone who does want to organize an event or a club or anything [2724.31] Frank: BFP VRA has a whole stock of [2727.39] Frank: I mean besides the fact that there's all the people that organize all the other events [2731.43] Frank: So you've got all that kind of knowledge to feed off of [2735.47] Frank: there is a [2737.75] Frank: affiliate program for the [2740.15] Frank: that if you want [2743.11] Frank: Equipment and stuff for running events. So if you're saying like the the race tracking [2749.95] Frank: quite expensive [2751.71] Frank: Yeah, yeah, PFP VRA will [2755.15] Frank: Organize it's generally works on the basis if you can organize guessing it from [2761.71] Frank: basically Greer to [2763.99] Frank: your events then you can get access to all the track timing and the [2770.43] Frank: Is [2772.31] Frank: for doing the [2774.67] Frank: The the race wall and things like that and [2779.19] Adam: stickers [2780.87] Adam: I'm just reading the chat [2783.11] Frank: There are stickers as well. Yep. Well, I think that's very important to a lot of people [2788.55] Jae: Yeah, HPI guy, I think number one [2792.47] Tony: He needs [2794.47] Tony: I can next week I can get on I've just been speaking speaking to my buddy Matthew [2801.15] Tony: He can come on with [2803.27] Tony: the [2804.31] Tony: the main designer of race box next week and have a like 20 minute chat so [2811.31] Tony: We'll try to arrange that for next week so we can talk get the guys [2815.35] Tony: We can talk about race box next week. Yeah, and we get our difficult questions are ready for then. Yes [2822.67] Tony: Tune in next week to hear about the race box [2838.11] Jae: Thank you [2840.59] Tony: Thanks, thanks for listening to us for a whole year, please do it again for this year [2846.07] Jack: Forget what is in many ways, but main one is giving Jack a big hug [2851.15] Jack: So you've been listening to let strong out you've been joined by Adam Juniper DJI [2862.47] Jack: Frank or Adam [2865.43] Jack: Adam what Frank or Adam what Adam? [2875.67] Jack: I didn't know whether anything was working rank. It's all right. I'm sorry. I don't know [2883.03] Jack: Why I didn't see the salute sorry [2888.15] Jack: Yeah, right Jay's drink yeah, thanks everyone. Thanks chin in and thanks Jack. Mm-hmm much love Tony [2895.87] Jack: above [2897.07] UNKNOWN: Or tone still one and brighten to our flight. Thank you and
