[0.0] Jack: Hello, and you should be listening to another episode of Let's Drone Out.
[7.0] Jack: We've got quite a full house here, Andrew.
[10.0] Jae: Oh well, Andrew doesn't speak, but he's here.
[15.85] Jae: Hello, hello, hello.
[18.85] Jae: We've got a delay from Andrew there, but hello.
[20.85] Jae: Andrew, speaking again.
[25.09] Jae: I think he did say he had some internet images, so he might not be able to speak much.
[29.09] Jae: Yes, I'm still here.
[31.09] Jack: I think he only speaks when one of us speaks.
[33.09] Jack: Yeah, exactly.
[37.09] Jack: Jay Chipco.
[39.09] Jack: Well, hello again.
[41.09] Jack: Someone who really matters in the community.
[45.09] Jack: The King of Banggood.
[47.09] Jack: That's pretty rude.
[49.09] Bardwell: Joshua Bardwa.
[51.09] Bardwell: The King of Banggood?
[53.09] Bardwell: I do shop at Banggood a lot.
[55.09] Jack: What an honourable title.
[57.09] Bardwell: Yep, yep.
[59.09] Bardwell: Not to be confused with the King of Hobbyking.
[61.09] Bardwell: I'm not sure which of those I'd prefer.
[65.09] Bardwell: I shop at Banggood more than I shop at Hobbyking, I'll tell you that.
[69.09] Bardwell: We've got the Prince of Banggood, N.J. Tech.
[76.53] Jack: Good evening.
[78.53] Jack: And if there ever was a jester of Banggood, it would be the FPV hoovering guru, Tony.
[86.53] Tony: I've never ever shot at a Banggood.
[92.53] Jack: You can't wait.
[94.53] Jack: The lead time on it is bad.
[98.53] Jack: For the last time, unfortunately, some sad news.
[104.53] Jack: I will be your host until I fly.
[108.53] Jack: Unfortunately, I am leaving.
[110.53] Jack: I'm sorry, Tony.
[115.18] Jack: I'm going to quit, Tony.
[117.18] Jack: You're going as well.
[121.18] Jae: It's okay.
[123.18] Jack: I will relieve you of the burden that is Tony.
[127.18] Jack: Take him to whatever trash can I dwell in.
[131.18] Jack: Anyway, Josh, I'm glad I nagged you and got you back on.
[137.18] Jack: Me too.
[139.18] Jack: I remember chatting to you and how much I enjoyed it.
[143.18] Jack: I wanted to go out on a high note.
[149.18] Jack: Who better to talk to than my last chance of edumication from Dronos.
[159.18] Jack: Teach me.
[161.18] Jack: A few things I wanted to ask you.
[165.18] Jack: Have you enjoyed soft mounting your things yet?
[169.18] Bardwell: I soft mount my flight controllers now.
[173.18] Bardwell: I think you're referring to soft mounting motors, which is a running joke, I guess.
[179.18] Jack: No, the soft mounting ESCs is the joke.
[183.18] Bardwell: Soft mounting your props, soft mounting your ESCs.
[187.18] Bardwell: People joke about this because they think it's gone a little bit far.
[191.18] Bardwell: Soft mounting your gyro is, if you look at any other field, actual industrial fields, scientific fields,
[198.18] Bardwell: the idea that you would hard mount a gyro is just preposterous.
[201.18] Bardwell: I don't know that because I'm in those fields.
[204.18] Bardwell: I know that because people who say they're in those fields tell me that.
[207.18] Bardwell: Just repeating that.
[209.18] Bardwell: It makes sense.
[211.18] Bardwell: We only started hard mounting them because we could get away with it.
[214.18] Bardwell: If you go back far enough, people did soft mount their flight controllers
[218.18] Bardwell: back before the days of nays 32 with the KK boards and whatever.
[224.18] Bardwell: It was only with the mini quads that the prop fundamental got high enough, high enough frequency
[229.18] Bardwell: and the magnitude of the vibrations got small enough that we could get away with hard mounting.
[233.18] Bardwell: We did, but now the gyros have gotten more sensitive
[237.18] Bardwell: and we're starting to see problems like mid-throttle oscillation, like gyro twitches come out
[242.18] Bardwell: and people say, oh, what's wrong with gyros?
[244.18] Bardwell: Nothing's wrong with them.
[245.18] Bardwell: They've just finally caught up with the rest of the industry.
[249.18] Bardwell: You can't always soft mount your flight controller.
[252.18] Bardwell: In those cases, I think soft mounting motors is a legitimate approach,
[256.18] Bardwell: as ridiculous as some people seem to think it sounds.
[259.18] Bardwell: But no, there's no reason to soft mount your ESCs.
[261.18] Jack: They don't make vibration.
[267.18] Jack: The other thing was, I was wondering,
[270.18] Jack: did you touch the news about the Dominic dropping a bombshell about...
[278.18] Jack: Yes.
[279.18] Jack: Go ahead.
[281.46] Jack: Clean flight.
[282.46] Jack: Yeah, clean flight.
[283.46] Jack: Yeah.
[284.46] Jack: No, you explain it.
[285.46] Jack: Go on.
[286.46] Bardwell: Well, apparently, so here's how it went.
[289.46] Bardwell: There was clean flight.
[291.46] Bardwell: Then Boris came along and started coding like a madman.
[295.46] Bardwell: For a while, you could only get...
[296.46] Bardwell: There wasn't even beta flight this then.
[298.46] Bardwell: It was just clean flight, but Boris was working on it.
[301.46] Bardwell: He never even really, I think, forked or branched or whatever the term for it is.
[305.46] Bardwell: He was just doing this work on the side and you would download hexes.
[308.46] Bardwell: Sometimes you would even just have to get them from Dropbox or something.
[311.46] Bardwell: But his development, and he was pushing those changes back into clean flight.
[315.46] Bardwell: But Dominic is very protective of his code.
[318.46] Bardwell: Dominic's the hydro, the clean flight developer.
[320.46] Bardwell: He's very protective of his code and he wants it moving a little slower,
[324.46] Bardwell: a little more tested and cleaner, to be honest.
[327.46] Bardwell: That's why he called it clean flight,
[329.46] Bardwell: that the code was focused on being clean and maintainable and not just performance.
[335.46] Bardwell: Of course, Boris went a whole other direction and just was coding like a madman
[339.46] Bardwell: and eventually we got beta flight.
[341.46] Bardwell: It became an official thing.
[343.46] Bardwell: And beta flight got leaps and bounds ahead of clean flight in so many ways.
[347.46] Bardwell: The paid logic...
[349.46] Bardwell: I mean, go back to clean flight 1.11 or 1.10.
[352.46] Bardwell: You can do this today if you really feel motivated.
[355.46] Bardwell: You can just take your copter, save the config, flash it to clean flight 1.10.
[359.46] Bardwell: It's right there in the pull-down menu.
[361.46] Bardwell: Go fly it and see how it flies.
[363.46] Bardwell: It's a real eye-opener how far we've come in just a year or maybe two years.
[368.46] Bardwell: Well, anyway, Dominic finally bit the bullet and said,
[371.46] Bardwell: you're right, beta flight is too far ahead and we're never going to catch up.
[375.46] Bardwell: This is my interpretation.
[376.46] Bardwell: And he just rebased clean flight.
[378.46] Bardwell: Basically, clean flight is beta flight.
[381.46] Bardwell: It's a copy-paste.
[382.46] Bardwell: But it's not just that clean flight became beta flight.
[385.46] Bardwell: Clean flight did have a few really exciting features that beta flight didn't have.
[389.46] Bardwell: One of them is an abstraction layer between the configuration options and I don't know.
[395.46] Bardwell: What it means is that you may be able to upgrade between different versions without losing your config.
[401.46] Bardwell: And that things like saving and restoring config are going to work better.
[405.46] Bardwell: But essentially, that's the big thing.
[407.46] Bardwell: Clean flight is basically, as of today, clean flight is just a copy-paste of beta flight more or less.
[412.46] Jack: Yeah.
[413.46] Jack: Because like clean flight, it had such a nice clean code that if you implemented something new
[423.46] Jack: that you wanted to test to see if it worked, you're then left questioning, is it my code or is it beta flight?
[434.46] Jack: Because there is just patches upon patches and that's kind of how base flight started falling down.
[444.46] Jack: It's just a mess.
[446.46] Bardwell: Yeah.
[449.46] Bardwell: Yep.
[450.46] Bardwell: So I think Dominic's position, he posted about this.
[453.46] Bardwell: His position is that both clean flight and beta flight benefit from this.
[457.46] Bardwell: For example, beta flight has F4 and F7 processor support.
[461.46] Bardwell: It's been well tested and that's something that clean flight, frankly, I would be really surprised if clean flight had as much development resources as beta flight does.
[470.46] Bardwell: A lot of people are working on beta flight.
[472.46] Bardwell: And so he was able to take advantage of that.
[475.46] Bardwell: While he, on the other hand, was able to help clean up a lot of beta flight code and add in things like the configuration abstraction layer and a few other things.
[484.46] Bardwell: I do wonder, though, where there's people out there who are flying clean flight because for a reason.
[491.46] Bardwell: And I wonder if those people are mad that all of a sudden they've been hoodwinked into flying beta flight.
[498.46] Jack: Yeah, I'm sad to see it go because the good thing about clean flight was that it was so simple for people just starting the hobby and there was less concern or head scratching.
[515.46] Jack: Do you know what I mean?
[517.46] Jack: A while ago, there was problems with the motor output as soon as you armed and stuff like that on beta flight.
[533.46] Jack: And people just don't realize that beta flight could potentially ruin your day.
[542.46] Bardwell: Yeah, I mean, the thing, beta flight, it's still called beta flight, right?
[546.46] Bardwell: But I have to say that the amount of testing by the time that you get to an official release, not just a release candidate, but an actual release, beta flight is really stable in every case that I've seen.
[560.46] Bardwell: I can't think of a case.
[561.46] Bardwell: There have been some bugs that have required hot fixes, but I can't think of a bug.
[566.46] Bardwell: And if someone corrects me, I'll acknowledge it.
[568.46] Bardwell: But I can't think of a bug that would have been like a safety issue, like your motor spin when they're not supposed to, that made it into a final release.
[575.46] Bardwell: So I do see that the pace at which beta flight updates can be overwhelming for people, especially noobs.
[583.46] Bardwell: And to that, I say, well, you don't have to update to every single latest one.
[587.46] Bardwell: You could just skip one if you want.
[589.46] Bardwell: But I think that we'll see that clean flight probably does not develop as fast as beta flight does.
[596.46] Bardwell: It sort of did a big jump to catch up, but I'll bet that it will slow down again because, I mean, Dominic still is who he is.
[603.46] Bardwell: And I don't know.
[604.46] Bardwell: We'll see.
[605.46] Jack: Oh, man.
[609.0] NJ: The other thing I was going to say, just to add to that, is that I think beta flight has made some pretty decent steps to be nonthreatening to the new person as well.
[621.0] NJ: And sometimes it's hard, I guess, for any of us that have been doing it for a decent amount of time to be objective from that point of view.
[628.0] NJ: But I mean, if you look at the tool tips now, most people will just kind of rush over that.
[632.0] NJ: But if you actually hover the mouse over and look at the tool tips, all this stuff is getting updated and codes that we had to go into the CLI to mess around with are no longer in the CLI.
[640.0] NJ: They're simplified.
[641.0] NJ: They're one figure and a tool tip now.
[644.0] NJ: And, you know, that progression has also happened.
[647.0] NJ: Maybe some of us have been doing it for a while, haven't stopped to notice it.
[651.0] NJ: So I think it is getting better on that front, too.
[654.0] Jack: Yeah, you have got stuff like expert mode, you know, like if you tick that, then you don't get bombarded with loads of extra stuff.
[663.0] Jack: And I'll agree.
[665.0] Jack: You know, the flight has I mean, for a while, it was like the flight of stock pits were absolutely amazing.
[674.0] Jack: I can't think of what what release it was.
[679.0] Jack: But, you know, it was nice to just flash and go for a while.
[685.0] Jack: And it's just gotten better.
[687.0] Jack: Yeah, you know, so I don't know.
[691.0] Jack: I guess I guess I'm just like, you know, romanticizing about, you know, clean flight, I guess.
[700.0] Jack: I mean, you never did fix the GPS.
[703.0] Bardwell: Right. These days, I think if you want to apply a clean flight type board, then your choice for for acro performance and racing is clearly beta flight and your choice for for GPS assisted flight is INAV.
[716.0] Bardwell: Right. And I'm not sure who's flying clean flight, honestly.
[722.0] Bardwell: And I don't mean any districts.
[723.0] Bardwell: I feel bad saying that because I have a lot of respect for for Dominic and and but for a long time, I've wondered who's flying clean flight because beta flight.
[732.0] Bardwell: Well, up until recently, when they did the rebase, beta flight flies better in acro mode period.
[737.0] Bardwell: And INAV flies better. And I mean, clean flight was never very good at GPS assisted modes and really didn't have any at all.
[743.0] Bardwell: So I'm not sure who wanted clean flight.
[746.0] Bardwell: Maybe people who were just scared of flight and all the knobs and dials put off by it.
[753.0] Bardwell: The other thing Dominic said in his comments about, you know, with a choice to rebase was that there's a lot more.
[761.0] Bardwell: Much more active beta flight community right now.
[764.0] Bardwell: So people who want support, if you look at the beta flight thread, you're going to get a lot quicker answers on there than on the clean flight thread, although it can be kind of like drinking from a fire hose.
[776.98] Jack: Brothers has kicked off with this race flight one by far the easiest set up for the new user.
[782.98] Bardwell: Yeah, I want base flight or a base flight.
[787.98] Bardwell: I want beta flight so bad to do wizards.
[790.98] Bardwell: Like if you look even at something like Libre pilot, right, which I haven't used Libre pilot, but I understand they have wizards.
[796.98] Bardwell: And I've set up race flight one some time ago.
[800.98] Bardwell: I haven't actually got the copter in the air.
[802.98] Bardwell: But the wizards, if you just go to a simulator, right, and they have the transmitter set up wizard where they say, you know, raise your throttle, lower your throttle, left, right, etc.
[810.98] Bardwell: Why does beta flight not do this?
[812.98] Bardwell: And I've said this to them on the on the slack and I'm going to keep harping on it until they do it.
[817.98] Bardwell: They need it. That would make such a big difference.
[819.98] NJ: Yeah, it goes back to actually goes back before Libre pilots open pilot.
[823.98] NJ: That was one of the things open pilot really got got right.
[826.98] NJ: It was a very, very useful and easy to follow wizard that just took a lot of the headache out and race race flight, you know, that the latest.
[835.98] NJ: Well, the first release candidate came out.
[837.98] NJ: I think it was yesterday.
[838.98] NJ: So I've been following RF one and the wizard.
[842.98] NJ: Yeah, it's really solid.
[844.98] NJ: Everything's worked.
[845.98] NJ: Nothing.
[846.98] NJ: Nothing that I can see or hear or heard of so far that requires any hot fixing.
[850.98] NJ: So, yeah, it's I think it's looking good.
[853.98] NJ: Have you flown it yet, Josh?
[854.98] Bardwell: I haven't.
[855.98] Bardwell: This was several months ago.
[857.98] Bardwell: I think it was even months ago.
[859.98] Bardwell: Yeah, it was a very early release of race flight one.
[862.98] Bardwell: And there was a little bit of a.
[863.98] Bardwell: There were two little glitches in it that hit me.
[866.98] Bardwell: They didn't hit everybody, but they happened to hit me.
[869.98] Bardwell: And I'm so busy that I said, OK, well, I'm going to put it down for now and I'll pick it up later.
[874.98] Bardwell: And because I just didn't want to spend a lot of time fiddling with it.
[877.98] Bardwell: And it's not fair to criticize it if it's not released yet.
[879.98] Bardwell: Right. So I just.
[880.98] Bardwell: So I haven't come back to it yet.
[881.98] Bardwell: The build is it's that one right behind me on the wall.
[886.98] Bardwell: That's the.
[887.98] Bardwell: No, not that.
[888.98] Bardwell: That's my ready.
[890.98] Bardwell: RC hat wearing.
[892.98] Bardwell: Yeah, no, I'm going to try.
[894.98] Bardwell: I've started posting the build series for that quad, which is going to be my final motivation to actually get race flight one on it and fly it.
[902.98] Bardwell: I'm always five weeks behind on seven different projects.
[905.98] Bardwell: And so what I'm working on at any given moment is whatever thing is most pressingly obvious that I need to get it done.
[912.98] Bardwell: And since I've started posting the build series for that copter, people are going to start asking, well, how does it fly?
[917.98] Bardwell: So I really need to get it.
[919.98] Bardwell: I can't ignore it.
[921.98] Bardwell: So how does it have any of you guys flown race flight?
[923.98] Bardwell: Is it amazing?
[925.98] NJ: I've flown.
[927.98] NJ: I've flown the latest one as of yesterday or the day before.
[931.98] NJ: And not long ago, maybe a week ago, put up a video of flying race flight one.
[938.98] NJ: And I was actually stunned that I was always fly stop pits and then and then start shooting once I see where I'm at.
[944.98] NJ: And it was just pretty incredible, actually, for straight out of the box pits.
[951.98] NJ: They're definitely doing something something right.
[954.98] NJ: It needs a little tweak, but I'm very impressed so far.
[957.98] Bardwell: Now, let me ask you this, because I've heard and I've heard too many people say this for it not to be true.
[961.98] Bardwell: Too many people have said I flew race flight one and I was stunned, amazed, blown away, whatever.
[968.98] Bardwell: So there's got to be something there and I'm looking forward to it.
[970.98] Bardwell: But when you say stunned, how well it flew was stock pits.
[974.98] Bardwell: Did it if you take like the best tune, say Betaflight Quad, you could tune versus the stock pits or even the tune pits.
[983.98] Bardwell: Is race flight one like on another level entirely or is it it's it it starts out at the same level?
[992.98] NJ: I wouldn't say it starts out the same level.
[994.98] NJ: I think if that was the case, I would I would personally consider that lucky.
[998.98] NJ: I don't think I'd I'd say, wow, it's just completely nailed it out of the box.
[1002.98] NJ: I mean, there's no kind of auto tuning here, but there's there's something in there that is there's a high level.
[1007.98] NJ: It's well above what I would expect it to be.
[1010.98] NJ: You know, I'd expect to go out there and and start to have to move whole numbers around to where I want it.
[1017.98] NJ: I mean, this particular quad, the CIG is quite good.
[1020.98] NJ: It's a pure X frame.
[1021.98] NJ: So I expect maybe to bring pitch down a little bit than where it would normally come.
[1026.98] NJ: And I was yeah, I was fairly stunned to see all I had to do is put the rates up where I wanted them.
[1031.98] NJ: And I was able to I was it felt familiar very quickly.
[1035.98] NJ: And I was able to just get on and fly without thinking about the tune too much.
[1039.98] Bardwell: So let me let me let me reframe.
[1041.98] Bardwell: Let me try to reframe the question.
[1043.98] Bardwell: I remember the first time I flew way back when going from do you remember gyro LPF equals forty two.
[1050.98] Bardwell: And then came up with the soft filters.
[1052.98] Bardwell: And the first time I flew with the soft filters instead of gyro LPF, it felt like taking like fuzzy glasses off your face.
[1060.98] Bardwell: It was a revelation.
[1061.98] Bardwell: The copter felt so much more connected, precise.
[1064.98] Bardwell: And then it just kept getting better from there.
[1066.98] Bardwell: But I'm wondering if race flight is like that, if it's like you've ascended or if it's it's the best of the current level.
[1075.98] Bardwell: But you get there easier.
[1077.98] Bardwell: You see what I'm asking?
[1078.98] Bardwell: Yeah, I see where you're going.
[1080.98] Bardwell: And I could just I could just I could just fly it for myself.
[1083.98] Bardwell: Right. But that would be to talk about it.
[1086.98] NJ: Yeah, no, I think it's somewhere between those two points without saying it's it's it's not I don't think it's quite as much as a revelation of that.
[1095.98] NJ: But it was enough for me to go.
[1097.98] NJ: Well, that's you know, that's that's really quite locked.
[1100.98] NJ: There's there's very little to hear.
[1102.98] NJ: It felt the best way to put it for me.
[1104.98] NJ: It felt like perhaps the tuning envelopes are larger.
[1108.98] NJ: Yeah, that made more sense.
[1109.98] NJ: Absolutely.
[1111.98] NJ: I think that's that's probably a better way to to describe it.
[1115.98] NJ: But I haven't really got my hands fully dirty in terms of the tuning yet.
[1119.98] NJ: So because I've been able to be lazy.
[1121.98] NJ: But yeah, I guess we'll find that out.
[1124.98] Bardwell: And so will you, I guess.
[1125.98] Bardwell: I felt that way about Betaflight that the latest improvements in the last, you know, whatever months or so have have not just made the copter fly better.
[1134.98] Bardwell: They've not just made the copter able to fly better at the top of the envelope, but they've extended the envelope where you could get a pretty decent tune.
[1142.98] Bardwell: You know, and that gives you more freedom to tune the PIDS to your feel.
[1148.98] Bardwell: So you could say, I like a sharper feeling copter or like a softer feeling copter, but you're not going to get any objectively bad effects anywhere in that range.
[1156.98] Bardwell: Whereas before you had to tune to fix the bad things.
[1160.98] Bardwell: And then the feel that you got was what you were stuck with.
[1163.98] Bardwell: But on the flip side, it makes my job harder as a sort of a tuning guru, because nowadays people are like, well, how do I tune?
[1169.98] Bardwell: And I'm just like, I put the default PIDS on and go fly.
[1172.98] Bardwell: And I don't know if you want it to feel different.
[1174.98] Bardwell: Go ahead.
[1175.98] Bardwell: But it's kind of no guideline for tuning anymore because nothing bad happens.
[1180.98] NJ: It's like the biggest envelope before was always, well, I guess it is always your.
[1185.98] NJ: But yeah, it does feel like the other the other axes are getting that kind of width to them almost like a sort of, as you say, is that that larger area now almost becomes like tuning set point weight
[1198.98] NJ: or something where you're actually kind of fine tuning within that envelope.
[1202.98] NJ: Interesting.
[1203.98] Jack: Has anyone like flown a quad recently that didn't have, you know, one shot active braking, you know, the old protocol, yes.
[1216.98] Jack: Where it kind of just drifts around and you kind of like guide it like a granny who's not too sure whether she's at the supermarket.
[1226.98] Jack: You know, that's the only way I can describe it.
[1229.98] Jack: Not done that.
[1232.98] Jack: I flew one the other day.
[1235.98] Jack: And I just I remember that.
[1237.98] Jack: What is it?
[1238.98] Jack: L.P. whatever filter.
[1241.98] Jack: Yeah.
[1244.98] Jack: Low pass filter.
[1245.98] Jack: Oh, my words.
[1247.98] Jack: Yeah.
[1248.98] Jack: He just changed everything.
[1249.98] Jack: It was just like Andrew came up with a good point.
[1254.98] Jack: Is it is it a revolution or evolution?
[1257.98] Jack: Right.
[1259.98] Bardwell: I like that.
[1260.98] Bardwell: Yeah.
[1261.98] Bardwell: So the race flight guys, of course, would say and by the race like guys, I mean Preston, he would say, oh, my God, it's a revolution.
[1268.98] Bardwell: It's the best thing ever.
[1269.98] Bardwell: It cooks your breakfast.
[1270.98] Bardwell: And I'm just never sure how much of that is Blarney, you know, and how much is legit.
[1276.98] Bardwell: But so many pilots are also saying it's amazing.
[1279.98] Bardwell: And if you look at the racers who a lot of the racers and they just they fly what works, they're not screwing around and they're flying.
[1286.98] Bardwell: They're flying race flight.
[1287.98] Bardwell: So there's something to it, I guess.
[1290.98] Jack: OK.
[1291.98] Jack: Yeah.
[1292.98] Jack: Loads of people in the chat are asking tone.
[1294.98] Jack: What are you eating?
[1297.98] Tony: I'm eating a patty Jamaican patty vegetables.
[1305.98] Jack: OK, Josh, one question I did want to ask you about was there was a guy who posted up about the furious day and someone broke their goggles.
[1321.98] Jack: The Trudy Trudy.
[1322.98] Jack: That's it.
[1323.98] Jack: Yeah.
[1324.98] Jack: Yeah.
[1325.98] Jack: Due to ripping too much current and riveting cable, apparently.
[1329.98] Jack: Yep.
[1330.98] Jack: Yep.
[1332.98] Bardwell: You had any problems?
[1333.98] Bardwell: What's your thoughts?
[1334.98] Bardwell: Blah, blah, blah.
[1335.98] Bardwell: So here's here's the issue in case people are not up on it.
[1338.98] Bardwell: All of this is true for all of the fat shark modules that have a screen.
[1342.98] Bardwell: The two pineapples is probably omitted.
[1346.98] Bardwell: But all the fat shark modules that have a screen, they basically pulled more current.
[1352.98] Bardwell: This is fat sharks position is they pull more current than the goggles are designed for at startup.
[1357.98] Bardwell: There's a startup rush of current.
[1359.98] Bardwell: After the goggles are running, then they're pulling about my measurements, they're pulling about 50 percent more amps.
[1366.98] Bardwell: So it goes from about 450 milliamps to about 600 milliamps, 650 milliamps, which is fine.
[1373.98] Bardwell: But there's a big rush at the beginning.
[1375.98] Bardwell: And the issue that I believe that they're talking about is that there's a ribbon cable that carries the current.
[1380.98] Bardwell: And the ribbon cable has two positive wires in it, but only one negative wire, which is enough for the for the for the goggle electronics, but not enough for the modules.
[1391.98] Bardwell: And in a very, very small percent of cases, the ribbon cable burns out because it overheats and eventually it wears out.
[1398.98] Bardwell: I spoke with a person in the industry who I'm not free to name who said it is like less than one percent of cases in his opinion or her opinion.
[1410.98] Bardwell: But but it does happen to some people.
[1412.98] Bardwell: And if that happens, well, number one, don't call fat sharks support because they will tell you to go screw yourself.
[1419.98] Bardwell: They will they will they will charge you, I think, 70 or 80 bucks to fix it was what people have told me.
[1424.98] Bardwell: And you can just order the new ribbon cable and replace it is the other thing you can do if you know the specs for the cable.
[1429.98] Bardwell: But it does. It doesn't affect very many people at all.
[1432.98] Bardwell: The other thing. Oh, go ahead.
[1434.98] Tony: Sorry, sorry, I got an email I was emailing the guys today and they told me the three point one update has lowered the voltage on the start.
[1447.98] Tony: I don't know if you heard that.
[1448.98] Bardwell: Yeah, what they'll do is, for example, they will not power on the screen immediately.
[1454.98] Bardwell: So they'll power up one radio, then they'll wait a second.
[1457.98] Bardwell: They'll power up the other radio.
[1458.98] Bardwell: Then they'll wait a second.
[1459.98] Bardwell: They'll power up the screen and they try.
[1461.98] Bardwell: They can manipulate that to reduce the inrush current.
[1466.98] Bardwell: So that's nice.
[1467.98] Bardwell: The other thing that just got announced today is that with the Furious FV TrueD V3, there is a defect in the manufacturing.
[1478.94] Bardwell: That means that if you press on the module, I guess you'd have to have the cover off.
[1483.94] Bardwell: You can cause the two boards to touch each other in such a way that a regulator shorts out and burns out and they've releasing.
[1490.94] Bardwell: And they're apparently they're sending this to all basically everybody who has the TrueD V3.
[1495.94] Bardwell: I think it's a little 3D printed plastic separator that goes in between spacer.
[1501.94] Bardwell: Thank you that you can install in between the boards.
[1504.94] Bardwell: So I guess the moral of that story is if you have a TrueD V3, don't squish it with your fingers while it's powered on.
[1510.94] Bardwell: I don't know and try to get that spacer and install it.
[1512.94] Bardwell: But again, I think this is an issue that affected a very small number of people and that most people are not going to be affected by it.
[1519.94] Bardwell: Of course, the people who have the problems shout the loudest and rightly so.
[1524.94] Jack: Bradder says about the back to race fly, says the defaults are always high filters.
[1533.94] Jack: So the covers a bigger range of quads.
[1536.94] Jack: And Erin asks, why your often has so much jitter?
[1544.94] Jack: Officer says it's because the plane the motors are in, it gets more vibration.
[1550.94] Bardwell: Is that true? Yeah, that's a very interesting question on the bit about yaw.
[1555.94] Bardwell: I think that makes sense that you're going to get more vibration on the yaw plane than the because in order to get vibration on the pitch roll plane,
[1563.94] Bardwell: you need the motor to be moving or vibrating up and down or you need a variance in the thrust.
[1569.94] Bardwell: If the prop is on, you need a sort of a regular variance in the thrust.
[1572.94] Bardwell: And if your bearings are tight, right, and you see clips are tight, your motor bell is pressed on to the right tension,
[1578.94] Bardwell: then you shouldn't really have very much up and down vibration.
[1581.94] Bardwell: You're going to get some up and down vibration because of resonance.
[1584.94] Bardwell: So the frame will essentially, you know, oscillate like a string on a very, very small magnitude.
[1590.94] Bardwell: And that'll create a little bit.
[1591.94] Bardwell: But most of it is going to be in the yaw axis that that makes a lot of sense.
[1594.94] Bardwell: Anytime there's a difference in the torque of the motors between the two diagonally opposing motors,
[1599.94] Bardwell: you'll get a yaw moment and then you'll get some vibration there.
[1602.94] Bardwell: The twitching is very interesting.
[1606.94] Bardwell: You know, why do we see the twitching on the yaw gyro the most and not the other gyros?
[1610.94] Bardwell: And I really don't know the answer to that.
[1612.94] Bardwell: I don't know.
[1616.25] NJ: There's another thing that was interesting is on top of what you're saying about the C clip.
[1622.25] NJ: And this was, I guess, one advantage from the C clips compared to what, you know,
[1627.25] NJ: we now have the screws that go in the bottom of the hollow shafts.
[1630.25] NJ: If you get that tension wrong, because some of them aren't necessarily going to go up.
[1636.25] NJ: And as the screw goes into the bottom of the shaft, have the perfect amount of tension.
[1640.25] NJ: Some of those shafts are actually ever so slightly shorter so that you set that tension yourself.
[1646.25] NJ: And if you do, if you put too much tension in, you're pressing on those inner races of the bearings
[1652.25] NJ: and you are going to have problems as well as if it's too loose.
[1655.25] NJ: And as Josh said, you'll have that sort of vertical vibration.
[1659.25] NJ: So if you clean or service your motors when you put them back together,
[1662.25] NJ: and they've got that hollow shaft with the screw in the end,
[1664.25] NJ: you have to be kind of aware of that because you can end up with more problems than when you started.
[1669.25] Bardwell: And what I've done, if I have a press fit shaft or a shaft that's got a grub screw,
[1675.25] Bardwell: what I'll do is I'll install the C clip on the shaft.
[1678.25] Bardwell: I'll insert the shaft in the bell, right?
[1681.25] Bardwell: The shaft will come up from the bottom.
[1683.25] Bardwell: The bell will come on to the top.
[1684.25] Bardwell: And I'll take a C clamp, and I will screw down the C clamp.
[1688.25] Bardwell: It presses in the shaft to the bell.
[1690.25] Bardwell: And that allows you to set the tension very, very precisely
[1693.25] Bardwell: because you can give just another eighth of a turn on the screw on the C clamp, you see,
[1697.25] Bardwell: and it'll press it in just that half a millimeter more until the tension is exactly where you want it.
[1702.25] Bardwell: Great idea.
[1704.25] Bardwell: But honestly, I can't remember the last time I actually serviced a motor
[1708.25] Bardwell: because I just had so much hassle for so little.
[1712.25] NJ: We've got so much bad weather at the minute.
[1714.25] NJ: I mean, just the other day, we went into the muddiest field.
[1717.25] NJ: And yeah, I mean, there was no option at that point.
[1720.25] Bardwell: Yeah.
[1721.25] Bardwell: If you can get away with it, why bother?
[1723.25] Bardwell: I agree.
[1724.25] Bardwell: Fly them till they're junk and then replace them.
[1726.25] Bardwell: Maybe that's the attitude of a big shot YouTube star
[1729.25] Bardwell: who doesn't have to buy his own motors anymore.
[1731.25] Bardwell: That's right.
[1733.25] Jack: So, yeah.
[1736.25] Jack: Josh is just bawling on a budge yet.
[1739.25] Jack: You know what I mean?
[1740.25] Jack: He breaks a prop.
[1741.25] Jack: He changes the motor.
[1743.25] Bardwell: I try to remember that I'm still, at heart,
[1746.25] Bardwell: a cheap bastard.
[1747.25] Bardwell: I feel like being a cheap bastard is his own reward.
[1750.25] Bardwell: And if people were pouring money on me and pouring,
[1754.25] Bardwell: you can get expensive stuff.
[1756.25] Bardwell: And I'm like, I still want cheap stuff, you know,
[1758.25] Bardwell: because I just feel bad about that.
[1761.25] Bardwell: He's keeping it real.
[1763.25] Jack: I try.
[1765.25] Jack: I do my best.
[1767.25] Jack: Kiss, unfortunately, had a weird sort of update.
[1771.25] Jack: I don't know whether any of you guys noticed,
[1773.25] Jack: but one of few people were saying that they were having fires
[1777.25] Jack: and that, and they released a new update.
[1779.25] Jack: I haven't heard anything else, but I wondered if any of you guys.
[1783.25] Jack: I know Josh doesn't care because it's Kiss.
[1786.25] NJ: I haven't been back to Kiss for ages.
[1788.25] NJ: You know, I did fly it for a good six months.
[1790.25] NJ: I can't be accused of not being objective
[1793.25] NJ: about all the different flight controllers.
[1795.25] NJ: I try and fly them all, but I haven't been back.
[1798.25] NJ: My biggest problem with Kiss, as I mentioned before,
[1800.25] NJ: was just the issue with lifting solder pads
[1803.25] NJ: and just the level of the hardware.
[1807.25] NJ: Not on the ESC side.
[1808.25] NJ: I think ESCs are great, but the actual flight board,
[1811.25] NJ: there's been too many issues with that.
[1814.25] NJ: And, yeah, I haven't been back to it.
[1816.25] NJ: I will go back to it, and I will have a look at the latest stuff.
[1818.25] NJ: But as of now, I'm out.
[1820.25] NJ: It's just a race fight and bait flight at the minute.
[1823.25] NJ: Traitor.
[1824.25] NJ: Well, not the...
[1827.25] Jack: Fly is great.
[1828.25] NJ: Don't get me wrong. Kiss flies great.
[1830.25] NJ: There's no question it's a fantastic flight controller.
[1832.25] NJ: As I said, my issue is with the hardware.
[1834.25] NJ: But, yeah, I don't know.
[1836.25] Jae: Jay flies Kiss, don't you, Jay?
[1838.25] Jae: Yeah, mine was, I think, 103 version of the hardware board.
[1841.25] Jae: And I've not had any problems.
[1842.25] Jae: It's crashed well.
[1843.25] Jae: It's flown well.
[1844.25] Jae: It still flies well.
[1845.25] Jae: And, actually, I really liked the newest update.
[1848.25] Jae: But I don't have Kiss ESCs, though.
[1851.25] Jae: No.
[1852.25] Jack: Yeah, I don't know.
[1854.25] Jack: I was skeptical, like, you know, how can an update...
[1857.25] Jack: I said, no...
[1859.25] Jack: Oh, yeah, hang on.
[1861.25] Jack: I've got...
[1862.25] Jack: Yeah, Erwin asked,
[1863.25] Jack: Josh Duart is into HD, like, Con-X,
[1868.25] Jack: with the new fat-shirt goggles.
[1870.25] Jack: Yeah, he wants to know what you think of the new HD stuff.
[1874.25] Bardwell: Yeah.
[1875.25] Bardwell: Well, I can...
[1876.25] Bardwell: Up until this weekend, I would have said I haven't flown it yet.
[1878.25] Bardwell: But I can actually...
[1879.25] Bardwell: I went this weekend to Louisville.
[1881.25] Bardwell: And I met Bulbafet and some of his friends,
[1885.25] Bardwell: and we hung out and flew for a little bit.
[1887.25] Bardwell: And I asked him to bring his Con-X set.
[1889.25] Bardwell: And here's one thing that you need to know about Con-X.
[1892.25] Bardwell: I said to him, hey, will you bring your Con-X?
[1894.25] Bardwell: Will you bring your ProSight so I can try it?
[1896.25] Bardwell: I said, hey, have you tried Clearview?
[1898.25] Bardwell: Do you want to try my Clearview?
[1899.25] Bardwell: He said, oh, yeah, I have tried Clearview.
[1901.25] Bardwell: I don't have one.
[1902.25] Bardwell: Do you want to trade me for my ProSight?
[1903.25] Bardwell: I'll trade you the goggles and the ProSight for your Clearview.
[1906.25] Bardwell: Wow.
[1907.25] Bardwell: Sounds suspicious.
[1908.25] Bardwell: For people who ask, you know, well, ProSight versus Clearview,
[1912.25] Bardwell: I kind of feel like that story tells you something.
[1915.25] Bardwell: I tried the ProSight.
[1917.25] Bardwell: I can say this.
[1918.25] Bardwell: I say this positive about it.
[1919.25] Bardwell: It looks amazing.
[1920.25] Bardwell: The resolution is unreal.
[1923.25] Bardwell: The latency, for me, is acceptable.
[1926.25] Bardwell: But I also fly the RunCam Eagle and find its latency acceptable.
[1930.25] Bardwell: And I'll tell a little sub-story about that,
[1932.25] Bardwell: and then I'll come back to the Con-X.
[1934.25] Bardwell: So Bulbafet, again, he said, man, I can't fly the Eagle.
[1937.25] Bardwell: The latency is no good.
[1938.25] Bardwell: And I said, well, that's interesting.
[1940.25] Bardwell: And then I watched his FPV feed while he flew.
[1942.25] Bardwell: And holy crap.
[1945.25] Bardwell: I was in my mind, I was cringing
[1948.25] Bardwell: because I would have crashed into seven trees
[1950.25] Bardwell: while he was just going doo-doo-doo-doo-doo-doo-doo-doo-doo.
[1952.25] Bardwell: His response time, his reaction time is so much faster than mine.
[1956.25] Bardwell: I literally was a half a second behind him
[1959.25] Bardwell: seeing the crash and cringing while he dodged the tree
[1962.25] Bardwell: and went around it and kept going.
[1963.25] Bardwell: So I wonder if people who say that latency is an issue,
[1966.25] Bardwell: either on the Eagle or on the Con-X,
[1968.25] Bardwell: have much faster reaction times than me,
[1970.25] Bardwell: and that's why I don't notice a difference.
[1972.25] Bardwell: Anyway, I thought the ProSight, the way it broke up was no good.
[1977.25] Bardwell: When we flew behind an obstacle, it breaks up in this kind of smeary way.
[1981.25] Bardwell: Have you ever had your video miss a key frame
[1984.25] Bardwell: and all video kind of smears like you're on acid or something?
[1987.25] Bardwell: Not that any of you have ever done that, of course.
[1989.25] Bardwell: The ProSight does that, and I found it really hard to fly through,
[1992.25] Bardwell: and I flew the exact same pattern with my goggles afterwards,
[1995.25] Bardwell: and it was staticky but completely flyable.
[1998.25] Bardwell: So I say you combine that with the fact that the receiver and the camera
[2002.25] Bardwell: are like $150, so that's for every quad you want to outfit.
[2006.25] Bardwell: That's another $150, and if you break one, you're boned,
[2009.25] Bardwell: and the camera's exposure is not that great, the color's not that great.
[2013.25] Bardwell: So I don't think ProSight is going to be really exciting,
[2017.25] Bardwell: like one or two generations from now,
[2019.25] Bardwell: but right now, it's too expensive and it doesn't perform well.
[2022.25] Bardwell: Maybe if you were on like a camera drone,
[2025.25] Bardwell: where you needed a high-def FPV feed
[2027.25] Bardwell: and you weren't concerned about latency and penetration,
[2030.25] Bardwell: but not for racing, for sure, not for Acro. That's my opinion.
[2033.25] Jack: I fly on one of my quads, you know the higher resolution HS117,
[2041.25] Jack: my MT1200, that when it goes to Tony's been out,
[2048.25] Jack: and Tony was nice enough to go fetch my quads from the other field,
[2053.25] Jack: when it gets to a certain darkness, the frame rate goes really weird and smeary,
[2058.25] Jack: and then I crash, and then poor Tony has to go get it.
[2061.25] Tony: Well, it's pretty dark, Jay.
[2063.25] Bardwell: I know, but...
[2064.25] Bardwell: I've found that the Eagle, at least, has really excellent light handling.
[2068.25] Bardwell: I'm not sure if it's better than 1177 with the IR filter removed.
[2072.25] Bardwell: I'm not sure about that, but the dynamic range
[2075.25] Bardwell: and the light handling on the Eagle is, I think, spectacular,
[2078.25] Bardwell: and one of the reasons I stick with it.
[2080.25] Bardwell: Ben, Josh...
[2081.25] Tony: Is it something like Metal Danny's Clearview videos?
[2086.59] Tony: In his underground racing, it's amazing how much difference it makes.
[2091.59] Bardwell: Yeah. Clearview is the real deal.
[2094.59] Bardwell: When I first got a Clearview to review,
[2097.59] Bardwell: the basic question I wanted to answer was,
[2100.59] Bardwell: is it marketing BS and hype, or is it the real deal?
[2103.59] Bardwell: And I can say, without hesitation, that it's the real deal.
[2106.59] Bardwell: It is the best ground station you can get today for analog, for sure.
[2111.59] Bardwell: And the only question is whether it's worth the money to you.
[2114.59] Bardwell: That's the only question.
[2115.59] Tony: How much is it?
[2116.59] Tony: It is a lot of money.
[2117.59] Bardwell: 400 for the racing version and 700 for the pro version.
[2120.59] Bardwell: The racing version is the same RF performance and magic algorithms,
[2125.59] Bardwell: but there are some convenience features locked out, basically,
[2128.59] Bardwell: is what it boils down to.
[2129.59] Jack: What's his footprint like?
[2132.59] Jack: Is it anything like the Connex system?
[2134.59] Jack: I'll show you. Hold on.
[2135.59] Jack: Massive. I've never seen it all.
[2138.59] Jack: All right. That's it.
[2140.59] Tony: Metal Danny's videos, he's got some Clearview stuff.
[2143.59] Tony: Yeah. How even is...
[2145.59] Tony: And it's like underground carve-out racing.
[2148.59] Tony: There's no break-up.
[2151.59] Bardwell: That's the...
[2153.59] Bardwell: Yeah.
[2154.59] Bardwell: That's it.
[2155.59] Bardwell: Sorry for talking over your tone.
[2157.59] Bardwell: I didn't mean to...
[2158.59] Bardwell: Andrew asks, or somebody asks,
[2160.59] Bardwell: how even is Clearview different?
[2162.59] Bardwell: All I can say is if you want to see how Clearview is different,
[2167.59] Bardwell: then you need to go to YouTube,
[2169.59] Bardwell: you look at Metal Danny's channel, or you look at my channel,
[2171.59] Bardwell: you search for Clearview,
[2172.59] Bardwell: and you'll find some videos with side-by-side comparisons,
[2175.59] Bardwell: and you can see there's no glitching or break-up.
[2182.59] Bardwell: There's no full-screen rolling.
[2184.59] Bardwell: There's no white slashes when you get the multipathing.
[2187.59] Bardwell: When it breaks up...
[2188.59] Bardwell: Number one, it doesn't break up as much.
[2190.59] Bardwell: It simply has better range.
[2191.59] Bardwell: And number two, when it does break up,
[2193.59] Bardwell: it's a very analog-style fuzz
[2196.59] Bardwell: that's very able to fly through and very predictable,
[2199.59] Bardwell: as opposed to your picture is kind of good and then it's gone.
[2202.59] Bardwell: It doesn't do that.
[2204.59] Bardwell: I don't mean to turn this into a Clearview commercial,
[2206.59] Bardwell: but if you want to know how it does it,
[2209.59] Bardwell: no one knows. It's a secret.
[2212.59] Bardwell: It's a patented secret, and people speculate,
[2215.59] Bardwell: but the bottom line is, it's magic.
[2221.59] Jack: When I said about the footprint of it,
[2223.59] Jack: I meant inside the quad.
[2229.59] Jack: I don't know, is it as big as an Imagine transmitter?
[2232.59] Jack: No, it's a standard.
[2233.59] Bardwell: It works with any standard analog transmitter.
[2235.59] Bardwell: You don't have to have a special transmitter.
[2237.59] Bardwell: It's all in the receiver.
[2240.59] Bardwell: It works.
[2241.59] Bardwell: It's all in here, yeah.
[2243.59] Bardwell: What?
[2244.59] Bardwell: Yeah.
[2245.59] Bardwell: Witchcraft, special magic filter.
[2247.59] Jae: And that's why...
[2248.59] Jae: Sorry, go ahead.
[2249.59] Jae: No, we're just amazed at the witchcraft
[2251.59] Jae: and the magic that's going inside.
[2253.59] Jack: Kill it with fire.
[2255.59] Jack: Is that what you said, Tony?
[2256.59] Jack: Is that what you said?
[2258.59] Tony: I said pink smoke comes out if you open it.
[2263.59] Bardwell: That's why I think this is, I think, better than ProSight.
[2266.59] Bardwell: One of the reasons is that you can have a $30 camera
[2269.59] Bardwell: and a $20 transmitter,
[2272.59] Bardwell: and you can get shockingly good performance.
[2275.59] Bardwell: And that translates to every single quadcopter you have.
[2278.59] Bardwell: You put the money into the ground station,
[2281.59] Bardwell: and you have normal equipment and the copter,
[2283.59] Bardwell: and I think that's much more cost-effective.
[2285.59] Bardwell: If you only had one copter to outfit,
[2288.59] Bardwell: then a ClearView with an analog camera
[2290.59] Bardwell: and a ProSight are about the same price,
[2292.59] Bardwell: the ClearView Racing.
[2293.59] Bardwell: You're going to come in around $500 or so,
[2296.59] Bardwell: and that's close to parity.
[2298.59] Bardwell: But if you have two copters,
[2299.59] Bardwell: you spend $50 for a camera and a video transmitter
[2302.59] Bardwell: for the analog copter,
[2304.59] Bardwell: and you spend $150 for the ProSight,
[2306.59] Bardwell: as the numbers that I looked up left,
[2308.59] Bardwell: I think those numbers are approximately right.
[2310.59] Bardwell: And so if you have a standard race stable of three copters,
[2313.59] Bardwell: you can take three copters,
[2314.59] Bardwell: three of the same copter to the race,
[2315.59] Bardwell: which is what I've heard that some racers do.
[2317.59] Bardwell: I'm not much of a racer.
[2318.59] Bardwell: Well, now you're $450 more expensive,
[2321.59] Bardwell: $300 more expensive for the ProSight
[2325.59] Bardwell: compared to, you know, $50, $60 more expensive, something.
[2329.59] Bardwell: $100.
[2330.59] Bardwell: I've lost track of the math.
[2331.59] Bardwell: You see what I'm getting at.
[2333.59] Jack: Okay.
[2334.59] Jack: Chad's asking about Thunder Powers
[2337.59] Jack: and Adrenaline versus Tattoo line
[2341.59] Jack: on the Reeve Electric's Graphene versus Drone bits.
[2346.59] Bardwell: Yeah.
[2348.9] Bardwell: You know, I can say that I've tested Tattoo R line.
[2353.9] Bardwell: I have tested Adrenaline,
[2358.9] Bardwell: and I have not tested Drone bits.
[2361.9] Bardwell: R line and Adrenaline are both very good batteries.
[2364.9] Bardwell: You know, I run a test.
[2366.9] Bardwell: I like to say about my battery testing is,
[2368.9] Bardwell: I run basically one test.
[2370.9] Bardwell: It's a 60 amp discharge,
[2372.9] Bardwell: and I feel like that test is a very good indicator
[2374.9] Bardwell: of how a battery is going to perform in the air.
[2376.9] Bardwell: The amount of sag,
[2377.9] Bardwell: a battery that sags less and stays cool
[2380.9] Bardwell: is, I think, going to perform better in the air
[2382.9] Bardwell: and last longer.
[2383.9] Bardwell: But at the end of the day,
[2384.9] Bardwell: I'm not running 100 cycles through these batteries
[2387.9] Bardwell: because I have other things to do with my time, right?
[2390.9] Bardwell: So, for example, Tattoo, they advertise that
[2394.9] Bardwell: one of their selling points is that their batteries don't puff,
[2396.9] Bardwell: and they last a long time.
[2398.9] Bardwell: If that's true, maybe I don't know it, you know?
[2401.9] Bardwell: So don't pick these batteries just solely based
[2404.9] Bardwell: on the results of my testing.
[2405.9] Bardwell: If there's a battery that performed well in my testing,
[2408.9] Bardwell: but it has a better price or you think it lasts longer,
[2410.9] Bardwell: then take that one.
[2411.9] Bardwell: Don't just take the one that did the best in my testing.
[2413.9] Bardwell: So tattoo, R-line, thunder power, all very good.
[2416.9] Bardwell: Revollectrics, I will say this about Revollectrics.
[2418.9] Bardwell: The Revollectrics high volts that I tested were terrible.
[2422.9] Bardwell: And what I mean by that is they performed very well
[2425.9] Bardwell: for the first, like, five or 10 cycles.
[2427.9] Bardwell: They got super hot, and they puffed literally,
[2429.9] Bardwell: in some cases, within, like, 10 cycles.
[2432.9] Bardwell: They were puffed, they were sagging, they were useless.
[2435.9] Bardwell: I tested recently some Revollectrics graphene,
[2438.9] Bardwell: not high volt, just graphene.
[2440.9] Bardwell: They performed okay, but not spectacular.
[2443.9] Bardwell: I have a little bit of suspicion, I guess,
[2448.9] Bardwell: a little bit of hesitance around the Revollectrics name
[2450.9] Bardwell: because some of their batteries have been so short-lived.
[2454.9] Bardwell: Maybe other ones are fine,
[2456.9] Bardwell: but I would pick a different brand personally.
[2459.9] Tony: Isn't there only, like, four factories
[2462.9] Tony: that make batteries anyway?
[2464.9] Bardwell: I've heard that said.
[2466.9] Bardwell: Yeah, they just make them to spec.
[2468.9] Tony: Yeah.
[2469.9] Jack: Right.
[2470.9] Jack: Yeah, I'm going to call time, guys.
[2473.9] Jack: Josh, you are.
[2475.9] Jack: Thank you all.
[2478.9] Jack: Thank you for coming on and chatting to me.
[2482.9] Jack: And, you know, you've been great, as always.
[2485.9] Jack: I've learned stuff, you know,
[2489.9] Jack: and it's always a pleasure to tune in
[2493.9] Jack: and, you know, go on your channel
[2495.9] Jack: and see what you're up to.
[2497.9] Jack: And, you know, I hope that one day
[2500.9] Jack: you'll get those Tyrannus switch screw bits.
[2504.9] Bardwell: Yeah, I'm going to get that wrench.
[2506.9] Bardwell: Thank you for telling me where that is.
[2508.9] Jack: Yeah, not a problem.
[2509.9] Jack: Banggood plug, banggood plug.
[2511.9] Jack: Yeah, king of banggood.
[2514.9] Jack: The only thing is you've unwillingly
[2518.9] Jack: entered into a contract where I insist
[2520.9] Jack: you do a review on them.
[2522.9] Jack: The wrenches?
[2523.9] Jack: Yeah, please.
[2525.9] Jack: It'll be this massive hype train video.
[2528.9] Jack: Oh, no, just go to town.
[2530.9] Jack: You need this wrench.
[2532.9] Jack: Yeah.
[2534.9] Jack: Well, it's always better than, like,
[2536.9] Jack: stabbing yourself in the finger
[2537.9] Jack: or worse than the scratch with the screwdriver
[2540.9] Jack: trying to undo the little nuts on the screws
[2542.9] Jack: on the Tyrannus.
[2543.9] Jack: You don't want that.
[2544.9] Bardwell: You should see my Tyrannus is so grungy.
[2547.9] Bardwell: You don't even want to know.
[2548.9] Bardwell: People are like, ooh, I hydro-dipped my Tyrannus.
[2550.9] Bardwell: And I'm like, would that cover up the dirt?
[2552.9] Bardwell: Because that would be OK.
[2555.9] Jack: You know when your Tyrannus is grungy
[2558.9] Jack: as if it smells of teen spirit.
[2561.9] Jack: There it is.
[2562.9] Jack: There it is.
[2565.9] Jack: Right, guys, thank you very much.
[2567.9] Jack: I've, you know, unfortunately,
[2569.9] Jack: it is my last hosting on Let's Drone Out.
[2573.9] Jack: So will Jay and Andrew will be taking over?
[2579.9] Jack: Hopefully, N.J. will fill my place.
[2584.9] NJ: Can you hear something like that?
[2585.9] NJ: Sure.
[2586.9] Jack: Yeah.
[2587.9] Jack: I think he's more than capable.
[2589.9] Jack: The show will move over.
[2591.9] Jack: We've got a dedicated Let's Drone Out channel,
[2595.9] Jack: which I am going to put into the chat
[2598.9] Jack: and on the bottom of this video.
[2600.9] Jack: The guys will also plan on moving the time.
[2609.9] Jack: So we're not taking on and competing with the RC groups.
[2615.9] Jae: Yeah, I mean, we may change draft there slightly.
[2618.9] Jae: But we'll be sure to let you know
[2620.9] Jae: before we actually start doing that.
[2622.9] Jack: Yeah.
[2623.9] Jae: As soon as next week, it'll be the same time.
[2625.9] Jae: 8 p.m. GMT on a Thursday.
[2628.9] Jack: Yeah.
[2629.9] Jack: So apart from that, yeah.
[2631.9] Jack: So none of my hooliganism.
[2634.9] Jack: But it's been good.
[2636.9] Jack: You know, Let's Drone Out will always be my baby
[2639.9] Jack: and I'll be around
[2640.9] Jack: and hopefully I'll help the guys get interested people
[2644.9] Jack: and I will just be a producer.
[2646.9] Jack: So it's all good, man.
[2648.9] Jack: But yeah, thank you for like tuning in
[2652.9] Jack: and you know, it's been a blast, guys.
[2658.9] Jack: Thank you very much.
[2660.9] Jae: You know, it's been fun with you over this last year and a half, Jack.
[2663.9] Jae: Yeah, man.
[2665.9] Jae: And thanks to everyone that's listened into that year and a half to this day.
[2668.9] Jack: Yeah.
[2669.9] Jack: Thank you, guys.
[2670.9] Jack: I really appreciate it, man.
[2672.9] Jack: I've met some good people along the way
[2674.9] Jack: and had some really good times.
[2676.9] Jack: I don't know.
[2677.9] Jack: I might start off a project when I'm feeling a bit better.
[2679.9] Jack: But yeah, that's all from me, man.
[2682.9] Jack: Over to Jay, N.J., Tony.
[2686.9] Jack: If I let him out of my dungeon.
[2690.9] Jack: That's it.
[2692.9] Jack: Signal for help, Tony.
[2694.9] Jack: Signal for help.
[2696.9] Tony: Safe word.
[2699.9] Jack: Thank you, Josh.
[2701.9] Jack: Take care and good night.
