[191.28] Jae: event of the UK, has been the Western Park, heady-fest style, fly-fest-esque show in the

[428.84] Tony: I love it when there's just no wind to fly a wing and you get that really nice footage.
[434.08] Tony: It's just 20 minutes FPV and going exploring and having fun.

[442.76] Jae: I've had a wing for, I don't know how long, but I swapped four little BESCs for a wing.

[507.32] Clint: I think even with the mini quads and stuff, a few times I've just gone out and thought,
[512.2] Clint: you know, I can't be bothered to do rolls and loops and stuff and you just end up sort
[515.64] Clint: of cruising around a big field or hitting valleys.
[518.64] Clint: Hit valleys are a prime example, like sort of heading up the hill and having a look around
[522.76] Clint: and finding bushes and going and seeing if you can see anything and then coming back.
[526.16] Tony: That's exactly what I did last night on some longest night of the year.
[529.88] Tony: I went up there, met Bradder's up there and flew my wing out.
[533.64] Tony: Went out right...
[534.64] Tony: We went from a different point on top of the hill and flew right out to a different barn.
[539.84] Tony: You know, a broken down barn and we were looking around and it's just something different,
[545.0] Tony: you know, 20 minutes, beautiful sunsets and stuff.

[549.84] Tony: And you can go out and just chill.
[553.04] Tony: It's all about chill flying for that 20 minutes and not that two and a half minutes of pure
[559.16] Tony: upside down, flipping around, you know, all that schmellarkly.
[562.44] Jae: So just filming in on one part of the video, one of the videos I saw where you were...
[568.64] Jae: And he came along and picked up a wing and said, sorry, Tony, what actually happened?
[573.52] Tony: Oh, that was Dan.
[574.92] Tony: That was my last battery actually, so it wasn't too bad.
[579.92] Tony: We were flying out to the barn at Hidden Valley, you know, the famous barn we all fly out to.
[587.0] Tony: We were flying out to the barn and then along and then down a crop field and then back over
[591.08] Tony: to ourselves and we were just doing a circle and trying to film each other.
[595.72] Tony: He had a 4S really small bonsai, I think it was called a really small wing, so he had
[604.04] Tony: to go pretty fast all the time or have five ribs.
[607.24] Tony: And at this point he was tailing me and he just throttled up, forgot he was on 4S and
[614.48] Tony: just went straight into the back of my prop.
[617.52] Tony: It didn't break the prop, but it broke the motor mount, which is all wood, so it snapped
[622.96] Tony: that and as soon as it snapped I disarmed, but I could still glide it down, which I did
[631.72] Tony: without smashing it to bits.
[633.76] Tony: It had his GoPro in it as well, which he was lending me because both my GoPros are not
[638.56] Tony: working very well.

[640.84] Tony: Yes, the GoPro 3 and 4 are now not, I need to decommission them.
[648.4] Tony: I need to actually smash them up with a hammer so I don't keep taking them out and getting
[652.44] Tony: disappointed that they work for five minutes and then stop working.
[657.6] Tony: But yeah, he went into the back of me and cross landed, but we found it and stuff and

[664.28] Tony: It's actually really quite hard to follow each other with a wing because you're just
[668.88] Tony: constantly like that, but it was fun and it's really fun going down across the cornfields

[709.12] Jae: Stryker says that he's actually using 3S now on his quads and stuff and I can't remember
[714.32] Jae: the last time I tried a 3-tail on a quad, but actually it does change your flying style.

[724.12] Jae: that gentle exploring or Sunday flying mode.

[1070.04] Jae: No, technically beyond visual line of sight is once you fly your quad on goggles outside
[1074.04] Jae: of where you can't see it from a maintained thing.
[1077.04] Jae: News this week is a French mob have successfully tested flying a drone, or at least an autonomous
[1087.04] Jae: vehicle 30 miles beyond visual line of sight using a mobile phone network.
[1094.04] Clint: I wonder what the delay was like on that.
[1097.04] Jae: But if you think you probably don't need that much, you just feed it, go to that coordinate
[1101.04] Jae: and then as long as it gets there and it feeds back, it doesn't have to be real time.

[1106.04] Clint: It wasn't like FPV, all through.
[1108.04] Jae: Oh yeah, I don't think it would have been like fly away.
[1112.04] Clint: I mean technically if you put a big enough battery on a DJI, you can fly that 30 miles.

[1150.04] Jae: Yeah, I mean, under the CAA regulations in the UK, there isn't really anything beyond
[1156.04] Jae: visual line of sight, the BVL, because it's usually line of sight or visual line of sight,
[1163.04] Jae: the LOS, which is the determining factor, because there hasn't been many tests on it.
[1168.04] Jae: The technology is relatively new in the whole aviation space.
[1172.04] Jae: And so I think this is the start of further testing.
[1175.04] Jae: The French mob were just trying to map out the electricity line.
[1178.04] Jae: So they were following along electricity pilots to try and map out the power distribution grid in Europe.
[1184.04] Jae: So the actual technology, I mean, it's what Amazon need to get into legislation
[1191.04] Jae: and regulation to do their deliveries, because they're going to have to be on visual line of sight.
