It was it was I couldn't find a name [47.35] Curry: you know back on the internet way back when you might first got into it like years ago and [52.79] Curry: some [53.91] Curry: Something like hotmail but not hotmail and it said create a username and I was like, oh, I've got I've got my mom [59.43] Curry: Oh, well 33k and I saw oil or BT Connect [64.51] Curry: Something anyway, I put my name in as Wayne. It's like this name is not available. I was like what how many people are they here? [69.63] Curry: So I looked around the room looking for inspiration [73.31] Curry: Eventually, I saw my cats which were called Corbin Madras. I tried putting those names in and they were taken and [79.55] Curry: Eventually, I came up with curry kitten as a weird [83.55] Curry: Just literally looking around my room trying to put two words together [86.43] Curry: Which might not have been taken and that's it because as soon as you have a name and you've used it more than once [91.87] Curry: You have to stick with it [93.19] Curry: So that that is the slightly bizarre [95.55] Curry: reason for curry kitten [98.19] Jack: Okay on that note, you're listening to let's draw now and tonight we're joined by curry kitten who's a UK reviewer and [106.39] Jack: Also joined by the classic people and Jay [110.63] Jack: Tony [113.75] Tony: He says that a lot, I don't know why you hear me tonight everyone please comment [120.35] Jack: I will give the link of the chat in a sec [125.31] Jack: But yeah, I thought I'd invite you on because when I first got into the RC world [130.67] Jack: you were one of the people who first come up and [134.71] Jack: You've got like little insightful [137.19] Jack: bits of information and I just really [141.43] Jack: Channel and I'm still subscribed and you came up the other day [145.99] Jack: with [147.19] Jack: You know your flying wing pass pass by and stuff. Oh, yeah, just like [152.83] Jack: Must get you on. I think I think people will like you [158.55] Curry: That's very rare people that meet me generally don't like me so I can put on my phone for the videos [164.13] Curry: Oh, I'm really grumpy and I don't get on with people [170.19] Curry: Most of the time [172.19] Curry: Did you start watching them because because when I was started doing it, it was literally [176.83] Curry: My journey, which wasn't very insightful [179.11] Curry: It was just me crashing my tricopter over and over and over again and taking home bags of bits and going to bnq overnight [185.91] Curry: To get new legs and stuff [188.07] Jack: That's that's why I don't do because you were a fellow tricopter enthusiast and that's what it was [193.59] Jack: I remember your 450 days and that and you know the the KK to [199.59] Jack: Find you from the hobby king build as well. Oh [204.19] Curry: That was fine. Yeah, the original KK board was lots of fun [207.95] Curry: I tried to because when I meet up with new people now and they're like, you know, oh, I don't know [213.79] Curry: This board's a bit dodgy. It's only an f3 and I was like, you know, yeah [217.87] Curry: You've got it tough. And now I sound like a really old man. Don't I? So back in back in my day [223.07] Curry: We had to like use a screwdriver to change our pits [226.91] Curry: When we had a boards none of this self-leveling nonsense [231.29] Jack: All right, Tony [233.13] Jack: Tony only never used self-leveling because he couldn't get it to work. So he had to like fly normally from the get-go [241.21] Tony: Thanks, Jack [243.21] Jack: Well, I'm just saying I was letting everyone know I was like you fight what you fly after already and you fight [247.53] Jack: Yeah, I couldn't get the other thing to work [250.97] Curry: It was it was like oh [252.57] Curry: I remember when they brought out the KK to and they're like we've got self-level mode and it was like flying through treacle [257.37] Curry: You pushed a stick all the way forward. It's like [260.65] Curry: like this [262.49] Jack: Well, we've got the maker of clint flight in the chat, which was a guy who made his own [269.21] Jack: Own code and it was just the copter would maintain self-level [273.61] Jack: So in order to move he added a delay so it moved and then self-level and then move and then self-level [281.05] Jack: It was like one of those dodgy boats [283.05] Jack: So, uh, yeah, I reckon when we have clean flight on and then get him to like [289.13] Jack: Give his code to clean flight so he can laugh [291.93] Curry: I've used to work a tricopter. Has anybody got tricopter still because it [297.93] Curry: Because I flew mine the other day [300.09] Curry: On a kind of thing i'm doing will it still fly because I was interested to know because I always liked it [305.93] Curry: I like the way they were [307.53] Curry: They're not like a quad are they that the way they sort of turn is more sort of a little bit like a plane [312.65] Curry: It's sort of very graceful turns when it's right [315.29] Curry: But yeah and they're off [317.29] NJ: They can actually turn a lot a lot faster than a traditional coil obviously because you instead of having the uh, [322.33] NJ: The rpm difference for changing which is relatively quite slow or torque differential [327.93] NJ: the uh, just being able to angle that that [330.97] NJ: That uh, the rear part of the tricopter means that they can actually whip round incredibly fast [336.25] NJ: Um, but yeah, I agree. They have a completely different feel [339.05] Curry: They are lovely [339.69] Curry: But I had real rose tinted spectacles on about my one a piece of crap back there [343.93] Curry: mostly because it's all components I bought in 2011 2012 and I still got them and um, [351.29] Curry: I sort of you know, I cut it with a [353.93] Curry: A sort of a hand file on a piece of fiberglass and stuff, but that was that was horrible [359.29] Curry: It's flying like a dog. So i've still got I want to go back and visit it again and put put a proper flight control on [365.61] NJ: I say what happened to um [368.57] NJ: David what's his name whose surname's gonna windows. Yeah [372.89] NJ: Didn't didn't he he wrote some custom firmware for tricopters, right? [376.81] Curry: Or he was working with a group of people that were yeah, he's got a specific tricopter firmware [381.69] Curry: Yeah, which runs on the sort of you know, the normal nays style boards. Yeah standard targets. I've never used it [388.97] NJ: but [390.09] NJ: Be interesting to see how that performs [393.05] Jack: I have it's um [394.89] Jack: the other thing is well is they've got like a [398.33] Jack: a horn effect sensor in back of the um [402.01] Jack: uh, the servo so you've got essentially [406.17] Jack: wire [407.37] Jack: and um [409.77] Jack: It's very that that [412.57] Jack: He gave he gave way to things called things like tail tune and stuff like that and um, very very interesting [421.61] Jack: The custom script's called, um, uh, like luca [426.73] Jack: l a [427.61] Jack: u [428.49] Jack: k a [430.49] Jack: Or post the link in the chat [434.17] Tony: Apparently their tricopters really good for nice flowy filmography stuff [439.45] Jack: I don't know whether because my one was tuned [442.65] Jack: Not I didn't get around to tuning mine, but it flew like a wing it [447.53] Jack: the [448.41] Jack: Kind of squirrel a little bit. Yeah, they [451.53] Curry: Your thing if it sort of upsets itself, especially back on the old kk2 you get this your waggle [456.73] Curry: So you're sort of going around like this [459.45] Curry: Sort of flies along I call it squirrely [463.61] NJ: I think those um much like helicopter tail tail servos. They need to be a very very quick, uh servo [470.49] NJ: With a very quick response time will kind of help a little bit with the oscillations on the tail [475.37] NJ: Um, that's that's what i've tend to find messing around with them [479.77] NJ: But yeah, they do kind of have that they're very set. They've got a very small tuning envelope [484.97] NJ: um [485.77] NJ: In the in the yaw, um, and you can get that that kind of d term style flutter [491.45] NJ: Um, if you don't find that the sweet spot's quite tricky to to nail [495.37] Tony: Yeah, well I found is how quickly racing then [498.57] Curry: Sorry again [499.85] Tony: Not good for racing then [502.33] Curry: It'd be good fun. I don't know if I could fit mine for a racing date. It's like this big [506.97] Curry: It's got 11 inch props on it now. It makes this really good sound there. It's like [512.17] Jack: I've got a [514.41] Jack: Tricopter f1 david windowsill tricopter f1 board if you want it [521.53] Jack: Flip it on e-bike. No one's bought it if you want it [524.73] Jack: Email me your address and you can i'll send it to you [528.17] Curry: All right, that's cool [528.89] Curry: But it should mine should just work off one of my i've got like an original nays thing that should be fine [534.73] Curry: Because the the ear season it won't support like, you know one shot even or anything. So [540.89] Jack: Oh, man less of that talk pwm [545.53] Tony: One of our viewers is saying that their um cord is on your bed [550.01] Jack: Looks like it might be getting fixed. Is that right? Yeah. Yeah, so [556.41] Jack: Well, no the thing is what happens is diggy dam gives me [560.57] Jack: The quad but not the quad project [563.37] Jack: box [564.41] Jack: Um chris has called us the c word again. Um, thank you chris. Thanks chris. Someone [569.93] Jack: Should make it. Oh, no, he is already a moderator [573.29] Jack: That's how you become a moderator in this chat [577.37] Jack: Oh, man, yeah have I miss loads in the chat people saying hello. Yeah [584.25] Jack: I've i've [586.41] Jack: Clint I have messaged you a link in the chat so you can fill us in what happened with uh, did you like your tops pony? [595.21] Jack: Who do you love what I did there? [598.81] Tony: That's what I like to drink now [601.69] Jack: Yeah [602.49] Tony: Look i'm wearing a top [606.14] Jack: Yeah, the let's drone out tops have arrived [610.22] Jack: Um nj. We will get you ones done. I'm really sorry about it [615.58] Jack: marvelous [617.18] Jack: Look forward to like I've overlooked you what's I share to you? [621.34] Jack: And do you want it? Do you want it fitted like tony said? I think tony wants to look at your [627.02] Jack: Abs and your arm. You better start working out some [630.54] NJ: Um, yeah, I I don't even know yeah small medium or something like that [635.74] Jack: You can't have small mate. It's got to be yeah, if he wants to get the guns out boy [641.26] Jack: Do you want me to get it like a wife beater printed for you instead? [645.34] Jack: much pizza [646.62] NJ: Well, yeah, oh right. Yeah the actual uh cut out sleeves and [650.94] NJ: Can you get an lda string vest? Is that is that a thing? [655.34] Curry: Just get a regular t-shirt and rip the sleeves off [659.98] Tony: T-shirts with um holes in the back if you want some of them, you know what I mean? You get so one of them up [667.58] Jack: now [669.26] Jack: Um, anyway, yeah that brings me on to hang out with my [674.94] Tony: I think you can put put the I think they're gonna be like 20 quid each the ldo [680.38] Tony: Ldo t-shirts. So if you fancy them, um, let us know in the chat [685.74] Jack: Or email us, please. All right, so we have a [691.26] Jack: Uh a medium-sized shirt like the one that tony's wearing tony, please show us your nipples [700.41] Jack: In for a chance of winning this. Um, and all you've got to do is there's two different ways you can enter. Uh one [709.13] Jack: Over a team I would like a [712.81] Jack: A sort of photoshop if you've got good photoshop skills or you're a good drawer or you're very creative [717.93] Jack: I would like a picture that I can have on my desk of tony your envision of tony naked [726.25] Jack: Um, don't try and jazz him up. I want it honest raw so that i've been kind of [732.33] Tony: I have no idea what he's talking about [734.81] Jack: There's some sort of tony deterrent [736.89] Jack: so I can like lick it and like kiss it and put like [740.65] Jack: Put lipstick on and be like goodbye horses playing and stuff [744.17] Jack: So I can kind of use it as a tony repellent for my bench to get tony away from me [749.77] Jack: And if it makes me chuckle you're in for a chance of winning [753.45] Jack: um [754.33] Jack: so this time next week, uh [757.61] Jack: the winners will be announced and you post it onto the [762.17] Jack: Let's drone out facebook page, which is I guess type in let's drone out on facebook [768.97] Tony: So well done jack all of this [771.21] Tony: You really thought of this really well [774.09] Jack: Yeah, just post it on there. And if you make me laugh [777.21] Jack: Or you suddenly a good naked put photo of tony you're in for a chance of winning [781.37] Jack: First of all, the competition is actually being able to get it to you [784.81] Jack: Trying to find a way [786.89] Jack: Yeah, um [789.77] Tony: Or if you're stuck in tony's timeline [792.33] Tony: You just start talking and then [794.41] Tony: Jay just rolls his eyes and I was like, oh, I can only say something ridiculous. Should I buy should I have like? [801.45] Jack: Run it past you nj [803.85] NJ: I'm not getting involved in this competition [806.73] NJ: Actually, i'm happy to judge [809.29] NJ: i'm happy to judge the the artwork, um [812.25] NJ: But i'm not stating the rules. That's it sounds like if you put some thought into this jack. So i'll leave that one with you [818.01] Jack: Yeah, you do sound like a little bit of a robot [822.25] Jack: I do [823.29] Jack: Yeah, you've got some interference [825.93] Jack: on your uh mic [829.05] Jack: Can you ask him that? [830.73] Jack: Yep. Yeah, it's like a crackle [834.57] Jack: It sounds like something's shorting out [837.53] Jack: Okay, i'll try and fix it. Okay [840.73] Jack: Uh, yeah, tony. Do you not approve? [844.17] Tony: I I really don't mind you can do what you want. I you know what i'm like i'm i'm I don't care [851.61] Tony: They're great. They're great t-shirts. It hurts [868.33] Tony: They're 20 not 15 people to actually buy them [873.29] Jack: Look you can either we don't know how you can buy them but email me bright until I fly [879.53] Jack: If you really do want one and I will figure out a way for you to pay this [884.97] Jack: At the moment i'm taking orders. Don't just order one if you're not going to pay for it [892.09] NJ: How's my microphone now, does that sound better that sounds better [897.93] NJ: I plug my proper microphone in my proper condense. There we go. Oh my god, man [902.81] Jack: What the hell it sounds like you should be doing like, you know women's [906.89] Jack: Romance novels, you know for like audiobooks [911.21] Jack: Where did this come from? [918.49] Tony: Please someone take away having a drink [924.81] Jack: He was on about that the other day and then I told him why I don't drink and he's like, oh my god never drink [931.13] Jack: Uh, i'm trying to go off topic as much as possible to annoy someone [936.25] Jack: And it's with tony which is more like four minutes [940.97] Jack: Yeah, come on [942.33] Jack: So uh curry kitten as you're our guest tonight. I don't know how much you know about us or even care [950.73] Jack: And he believes in aliens ghosts [954.57] Jack: Uh, he reckons global warmings from the government spraying things with planes. Um [960.25] Jack: uh [963.13] Jack: Actually the aqua spraying now, okay, um, yeah, uh, he thinks the queen's a lizard [972.33] Jack: So like yeah it's your chance to like ask tony how he thinks the world [978.97] Jack: So, uh, feel free i'll set a timer for 10 minutes and let tony go [985.37] Tony: I think we should not do this anymore this [988.41] Jack: All right, two minutes just asking me a question, please [993.85] Curry: Is is tony david ike is what's the best friend [1001.04] Curry: So so i'm guessing oh jack's gone even [1007.84] Tony: Yeah, we've lost jack massively like you've won a t-shirt [1012.72] Tony: T-shirt's coming to you [1014.72] Jack: I never thought I like I knew it would be a bit of a train wreck getting curry kitten on [1020.48] Jack: He's just like [1022.16] Jack: What the hell have I signed up for? [1024.48] Jack: It's great. He's embracing it so much. This is everything I ever dreamed of [1029.68] Curry: It's so weird [1030.96] Curry: because my other half of watching [1033.12] Curry: Um, like i'll watch fpv videos on youtube. I also like the sort of skeptical community stuff [1037.76] Curry: So the sort of stuff that tony believes in is like, oh my god [1041.36] Curry: we're [1042.48] Curry: We're trapped and it's no good talking to him if [1046.0] Curry: Hi tony, don't be offended. If you're anything like any of the people i've watched you can show them all the evidence [1051.44] Curry: You can see and it's like this. This is clearly not true in your delusional. Do you see that? No [1056.88] Curry: But so there's no argument with him, is there? [1058.88] Curry: Not really he can just be in his happy little world and [1062.4] Jack: Oh, please just give us a kiss. Give us your best shot. Ask him anything [1066.4] Curry: please [1067.76] Curry: So, uh, how can you tell someone's a lizard? What the what are the warning signs? [1072.48] Tony: I believe in the sun and stuff [1076.56] Tony: They're like cats they're that they're that way and not that way. Yeah, i'd have noticed that surely [1082.48] Tony: You have to you have to video them and slow it down really slowly [1087.12] Tony: Okay, nj now he's like [1090.08] Tony: He found out that he is one look [1097.76] NJ: Elizabeth right so she [1099.52] NJ: Effectually gets referred to as liz. Is that where the lizard thing is? There's some connection there [1104.72] Tony: In fact, you can do you can join us any time [1108.48] Jack: How many of you are fair? [1111.04] Jack: Tony right, you know like lizards right and humans right humans don't have tails [1116.0] Jack: So what do the lizards do with tails? [1119.12] Jack: Because like is she like tucking like a reverse transvestite? [1124.64] Tony: I have no idea what transvestite [1126.8] Jack: Does she cut it off or how do you get the lizard or is it a mini normal lizard inside? [1133.12] Jack: You know, like the men in black little weird alien inside [1136.64] Jack: Is it like a little mini lizard robot then what's the deal with the eyes? [1140.72] Jack: Is it's got cow vision, you know, like they're on the side of the head. How do they move their eyes to the front? [1149.44] Tony: Let's ask people in a chat. I think this segment should be over now. We should go back to talking about fbv [1156.72] Jack: You've got one minute [1159.52] Jack: Seconds, come on tony. How do we get a lizardy type of person? [1164.72] Curry: Make it up [1166.0] Curry: See when they're threatened lizards can drop their tails. So maybe it's like [1170.24] Jack: That's what they do. How are they threatened? They're in places of power [1175.44] Curry: See I would have gone as well with like sure if you want to hide your eyes [1178.08] Curry: You just wear posh contact lenses. None of this like oh watch out. Don't be filmed by any slow motion cameras sort of thing [1185.28] Tony: That's a bit too much to think about [1193.84] Jack: Chris you can't put them together would blow our minds [1203.5] Jack: Oh, right, um [1208.7] Tony: I'm done. I'm done. Okay. I'm taking a piece out of everyone. Let's get back to busy [1213.66] NJ: Yeah, no, I I've got a really neat link off the back of that now we can go on to [1221.26] NJ: Something different, uh, so apparently um, uh and you actually link this link this, um before we came on [1228.38] NJ: So there is a drone flight that's been done underground [1232.14] NJ: Um in the london streets, uh, so i'll just pop a link to that actually in the chat [1238.3] NJ: So you can check that thing out [1240.3] NJ: um [1242.14] NJ: Uh, but it says sit back and watch the mesmerizing footage of a drone flying through the crossrail tunnels under london [1248.22] NJ: Um for footage courtesy of crossrail [1250.3] NJ: So they've actually put got something probably like an inspire or similar that they've uh flown down [1256.22] NJ: All the all the way down to the uh, the underground tunnels and in and around the network, which looks quite interesting [1262.62] NJ: Um, so yeah, no height restrictions on that when you're in negative numbers [1267.98] Tony: I know someone who's flown in the sewers. Yeah, that was traumatizing probably not the same [1275.66] Jack: But yeah, no, it wasn't there a car that was evading the police the other day and he drove into a [1282.46] Jack: underground train [1285.18] Jack: Railway tunnel and then got stuck [1288.46] Jack: Sounds a bit Italian job to me [1291.82] Jack: Yeah, I know it is true though [1294.78] Jack: But yeah, I don't [1296.62] Jack: um [1297.34] Tony: Has anyone yeah, if you've seen like [1300.22] Jack: Turtle mode, what's that? [1305.34] Tony: Oh, come on guys, you must have heard of turtle mode [1308.46] Jack: I've heard of turtle mode is when you crash your quad upside down [1312.06] Jack: And the accelerometer apparently only works on d-shot though [1317.42] Tony: Not multi-shot one shot or anything like that. You have to have d-shot enabled [1323.1] NJ: Yeah, i'll be i'll be interested to see how that how that works out because I could I can see that [1328.38] NJ: Potentially frying some some ESCs. They've got some very very [1332.78] Tony: Quite well i've seen a couple of videos on it and people crash [1336.78] Tony: And then flick a switch [1338.38] Tony: So you you reverse all your props [1341.02] Tony: Basically, you could fly upside down if you wanted to [1345.26] Tony: flick a switch crash flick a switch [1347.42] Tony: And then give it a flick on the throttle and it will flip your quad back over and then flick the switch back [1354.3] Tony: and then you can fly off and they're also using the [1358.54] Tony: motors as a [1361.98] Tony: Buzzer [1364.22] Tony: Yeah, that one buzzer on a switch as well [1368.54] Tony: Okay [1369.58] Tony: You can make the motors be [1372.3] NJ: On a switch. Yeah. Yeah. I mean you could obviously in b or heli settings [1375.82] NJ: You've been able to do that for a long time in terms of a set period but that's quite interesting to put it on a switch [1381.82] NJ: Yeah, yeah at certain strengths again with certain ESCs. That's actually potentially not a great idea [1389.02] NJ: um [1390.38] NJ: So yeah, I think uh, and it's the same [1393.34] NJ: You know [1393.58] NJ: It very much depends on the surface that you land on in terms of the turtle mode thing and being able to flip it back over [1397.98] NJ: And again on the wrong type of ESC you could actually do some damage there. So i'd imagine [1402.62] NJ: That's going to be [1404.14] NJ: More with the newer generation of ESCs, especially moving forward with things like the bl32 [1410.22] NJ: ESCs [1411.5] NJ: that have [1412.46] NJ: very very good and accurate kind of stuck prop detection and things that won't stop it trying to fire up and fry anything so [1419.98] NJ: Yeah, i've watched watch that with with great interest to see that see that become [1424.54] Tony: I thought all the ESCs could be reversed [1428.22] NJ: Yeah, you can you can reverse all ESCs, but um some of them [1433.1] NJ: It's not about reversing. It's about reversing it on the floor in grass or something where [1438.7] NJ: If you haven't got the other parameters of that [1441.58] NJ: Set up, right the ESC will just fry itself trying to start that motor up in you know [1445.74] NJ: It's trying to kick it in [1447.18] NJ: startup powers kicking in trying to turn the prop and [1450.06] NJ: um, if that's not handled sensitively [1452.7] NJ: Um, you could you could just fry the uh fry the ESC so [1456.94] Tony: Yeah, it sounds like what do you think is anything in DSHOT or not multi-shot or anything like that? [1463.42] NJ: Um, I don't think multi-shot would probably [1467.26] NJ: bother to write something like that now, I think everything's kind of [1471.5] NJ: Moving forward with with with DSHOT now is the the digital protocol especially because you don't need to calibrate them anymore and you know [1480.22] Curry: Once our guest was speaking [1483.02] Curry: Sorry and [1484.54] Curry: Please tell me. Oh, sorry. No, I was just about to say yeah [1486.86] Curry: It it sounds like a good thing apart from like as uh, and you said if you land in anything [1491.26] Curry: But the perfect you almost got to land upside down [1494.62] Curry: like just teetering [1496.06] Curry: perfectly balanced [1497.74] Curry: So you can take off again because anything other than like, you know flat stuff you're gonna get grass caught and stuff [1504.46] Curry: Also, I don't know about you guys, but whenever I crash and even if like flip and it's like, oh i'm the right way up [1508.86] Curry: I'll take off again [1509.74] Curry: Then I come into land. I was like, where's my HD camera gone? [1512.46] Curry: And then I spend the next two hours like where did I crash again and walking around trying to find all the bits that actually [1517.18] Curry: Came off and stuff. That's very good. I don't necessarily trust it like I can take off again [1521.74] Curry: I'm like i'm just gonna leave it there. I'm gonna walk over then i'm gonna pick up all the little bits that came off [1526.46] Jack: Yeah, I mean we mean [1530.38] Jack: Encourage it like I remember the days where you couldn't reverse proper action with soft [1535.42] Jack: where you had to [1536.94] Jack: Desolder two wires and swap them around [1540.22] Jack: Yeah, it wasn't that fun [1542.94] Jack: And then I know you'd unsold a two of them be like oh which order they were they in again [1548.22] Curry: you know [1549.82] Curry: you can do it as well because what you do you'd set your quad up and you do all your soldiering and rather than because [1556.38] Curry: If the motors have wires that are all like on a sort of flat thing and they all come out at one thing you can [1561.18] Curry: Kind of figure out. Okay, it's going to run this way [1563.34] Curry: But sometimes they just come in this bundle [1565.58] Curry: So you take the opportunity and you would just wind them up and you see how it goes [1569.26] Curry: And sometimes you can get every single motor the wrong direction perfectly in the wrong direction. You have to change every single one back again [1576.78] Curry: Massive pangs, but yeah [1578.86] Curry: The new generations of making quads are so easy [1581.74] Curry: I mean, do you guys even pit tune anymore or do you just like yeah, it works [1585.66] Curry: You just do some super rate tuning and that's that's it [1589.58] NJ: Yeah, I think that's very [1591.66] NJ: It's certainly closest to the way things are going now base flight needs a lot less. Uh, you know a lot less [1596.94] NJ: Tuning from stock pits race flight [1599.42] NJ: But arguably one of the first that came along and just you know straight out the box. It was excellent. So yeah, it's it's [1606.46] NJ: It's it's an absolutely valid point [1609.42] Curry: It's good as well because people stop writing on comments [1611.66] Curry: Can you share your pits? [1613.34] Curry: And then you don't have to give yourself think about you don't want my pits because my pits aren't going to work for you necessarily [1617.42] Tony: it's just like different motors and a different quad and a different ese and a different propeller and loads of solder blobs all over the [1623.82] Curry: Place which might make a difference [1626.54] Tony: So um beta flight are also doing different profiles [1630.78] Tony: So i've read on a chat. My mate told me about this whereas you can have one highly tuned [1638.94] Tony: So you it's really great for when you're flying and then if you [1643.42] Tony: Um crack got bent props you can put it onto another profile what sorts out [1651.68] Tony: Yellow that you would get and then if you crash even worse, you can put it on another profile all on a switch [1659.28] Tony: Well, that's interesting [1660.8] Curry: Has anyone done any of that yet? Well, I I used to what happens normal profile things are we talking about to do? [1667.12] Curry: I used to do it when I didn't [1669.52] Curry: When I couldn't tune [1671.52] Curry: uh in the field [1672.4] Curry: I used to go down and i'd like set profile one for this set of pits profile two for this set of pits [1677.12] Curry: See which one's better and come back again [1679.12] Curry: but i've never ever thought of um [1681.28] Curry: This is like oh the the props are all bent profile as opposed to or maybe I should just change the props [1686.56] Tony: But it's an interesting one. Yeah, I think it's about people using it for racing [1690.8] Tony: so if they've crashed they've got a really good tune and if they crash and then know they've taken back off and uh [1697.68] Tony: And props they can switch profile [1701.28] Tony: Where the I don't know the gyro does less or whatever or does more [1706.4] NJ: Yeah, I think you just turn the sensitivity down of everything so that it'll feel a little bit less [1711.2] NJ: Connected, but you'll be able to fly and without horrific oscillation [1715.44] Tony: Yeah, yeah, that's it [1718.56] Curry: That's not a bad idea i'm going to write that down on my sticky note as a to-do list [1723.12] Tony: Take this down jack. I've done something good [1727.2] Curry: All right, ignore ignore aliens and lizards right down [1731.52] Curry: profiles [1733.76] Curry: For crashing I like that [1736.64] Tony: Thank you [1737.92] Curry: I can go now. You can go now. Excuse [1740.8] Jack: No, i've written it down race light fly shit. No matter what position the switch is in. There you go [1749.04] NJ: So carry kim what got you into uh, what got you into the hobby [1753.52] Jack: Wasn't you a video gamer first? [1756.08] Curry: From what I remember [1757.6] Curry: Yes, I still am and then you got youtube channel was about that because um [1762.16] Curry: The youtube channel got started by accident. We had um, we had a website called game endings.co.uk [1768.48] Curry: Where we literally [1770.0] Curry: We'd record a game ending because we we were talking about on like gaming forums [1773.04] Curry: Like you spent like 40 hours playing some big rpg [1776.16] Curry: You'd watch the ending and then you'd carry on and like oh [1779.04] Curry: Nobody nobody remembers the ending. So we thought oh we'd try [1782.96] Curry: uh [1784.0] Curry: Capturing them and putting them on a website and this was like about one year before youtube came along [1789.04] Curry: So all all the endings look terrible because we compress them down to nothing so people could download them [1794.48] Curry: And then we noticed people start uploading onto youtube. So I shoved [1798.16] Curry: My my stuff onto youtube and it was youtube that got me into sort of [1802.64] Curry: Flying just you know [1803.68] Curry: When you're on youtube and you're like you click a link and a recommended one comes up and before you know it you're like you're watching [1809.36] Curry: You know dogs dancing and stuff and you like [1812.4] Tony: For all lizards queen [1814.64] Curry: You learn everything. So I caught um [1818.24] Curry: I caught one of david, uh winner stills video [1820.88] Curry: um [1821.76] Curry: on these tricopter stuff [1823.44] Curry: and i'd been kind of interested in rc when I was a kid and um, I mean you guys are a lot younger than me but [1830.64] Curry: Back back in the day back when I was a lad when you don't know tony is prehistoric [1836.16] Curry: Well, when you got your radio control car [1838.4] Curry: It like use six like a batteries those big ones and like your mom and dad would only get you one set for christmas [1844.4] Curry: And so your your entire I think i'm radio controlled cars would be like 10 minutes and that's it [1849.6] Curry: Well, you know, the birthday's coming up [1852.64] Curry: batteries for clay pots [1855.92] Tony: The iraqi battery one was [1858.72] Curry: Yeah, so it was only because david's website had such um [1863.2] Curry: Good information like this is how you build a tricopter literally start to start [1867.04] Curry: These are the pieces you need that's what you want to do and like literally me with [1871.2] Curry: No idea what i'm doing and no radio control stuff could uh, put it together [1874.8] Curry: It's just like you go to bnq you get these planks of wood [1877.52] Curry: There's some place called hobby king you buy some stuff from [1880.48] Curry: I borrowed a radio [1882.4] Curry: Um, but yeah, like the first the first flights I had were awful [1887.52] Curry: Um, I I was trying to reverse channels on the radio once and I reversed the throttle and I think jumped up in the air [1893.44] Curry: And hit me in the head [1895.84] Tony: That's never good [1897.28] Curry: No, i'd like to say i've never done that since but it's you know, two or three times [1901.76] Curry: In bed it just progressed from there really so [1904.3] Curry: Shirecopters led to like the 450s because everybody had like a naziquot at some point [1909.12] Curry: and then it was um [1911.2] Curry: Bruce on rc model reviews did that he had a really big video about this is how you build an axn [1916.08] Curry: I thought I don't know anything about flying planes, but i'll like he telling me how to build it [1920.56] Curry: So i'll do that [1922.4] Curry: And that ended up in a tree after a day and crashed a lot [1926.88] Curry: And it's just been going since [1929.04] Curry: Everything and anything I can get hold of and stick a camera on it. I will do so for some bizarre reason [1936.0] Jack: Mr. It's the video game headings. You're like, I don't want to miss this [1940.88] Jack: I spent all this time playing [1943.2] Jack: Like i'm building and you know, and then to finally get to the end of buying I want to kind of relive it [1950.64] Jack: Yeah, i'm with broken parts anyway [1955.84] Curry: Yeah, so the videos would come out a start from um [1960.0] Curry: Like I was I started doing like a tricopter thing [1963.28] Curry: I couldn't find some parts like where do you find a piece of carbon rod from? I literally had no idea [1968.96] Curry: And um, I found I found a forum and like a bunch of guys had built what uh, tricopter was like [1974.0] Curry: Yeah, I found it. So I was putting up a video every time I flew I was like, okay [1978.08] Curry: All this happened and went wrong today and I crashed because of this [1981.36] Curry: And that sort of give advice and half the time it's like give up. You're [1985.44] Curry: It's just doing awful. You're doing something fundamentally wrong. Go and see someone who knows how to fly [1991.04] Curry: Which kind of gets my back up because I like to just like screw that, you know, i'll work it out for myself [1997.2] Curry: uh, and so yeah, the videos then grew from [2000.96] Curry: Me doing that to weirdly people say how did you do that? I was like, I'm just [2006.0] Curry: Doing it [2007.28] Curry: Because I speak with absolutely no authority that I know anything about anything. I just like [2012.16] Curry: I'm bumbling my way through here's what I did [2015.2] Curry: See how it works for you sort of thing [2018.4] Tony: That's what jack does [2021.36] Curry: He's got it on a much better bumbling thing than me he's he's he's completely faking it that he doesn't know what he's doing [2027.76] Curry: brilliantly [2029.52] Jack: Yeah [2031.28] Jack: I know [2032.8] Jack: Well, I mean the day uh, tony did get enough on me [2037.12] Jack: Because I needed tony's help and there's nothing worse and more humbling than asking tony for help [2044.32] Jack: I got my uh quad stuck in a tree [2047.92] Jack: In order to get it down. I had a [2051.6] Jack: Like tripod still and i was throwing the tripods [2056.0] Jack: Still [2057.6] Jack: Out but we can get the stall out [2060.08] Jack: So then I had to ask tony to help me get my stall out of the tree in which tony filmed the whole thing and [2068.4] Jack: He wished that I never got into this hobby really [2073.28] Tony: I think more humbling because of that [2076.8] Tony: You know what? He calls me down and say can you bring your pole right? I i i i'm a glazing hygienist [2083.62] Tony: And I um window cleaner i've got some very big poles and I can rest i'm normally rescue cods out of trees [2090.82] Tony: And i've got some i've had some pretty um [2094.18] Tony: High cod rescues where i've taken poles and rescue [2098.26] Tony: Rescue cods out of trees and poked them out of trees with my big pole [2102.74] Tony: and um [2104.18] Tony: I got a call from jack. Can he rescue i've got my [2108.26] Tony: He got his quad down, but got his seat stuck in a blooming tree [2112.58] Tony: and um [2114.1] Tony: I went down and rescued his seat which I could have actually [2118.9] Tony: Paid I would have rather paypaled him three pounds [2123.06] Tony: Seat and drive down there and poke it out of a tree [2127.54] Tony: It was ridiculous [2130.18] Jack: You know them cheeks why did tom smith get famous from [2134.98] Jack: No, they're not they're like four whole pounds. It was a monumental screw up by me [2139.38] Jack: And [2141.06] Jack: I paid dearly i've never seen anything you hope to get that many comments about me. I was having a bad week [2147.62] Jack: You know, we got we got screwed over by someone [2151.14] Jack: a spotter [2152.98] Jack: and I [2155.14] Jack: Got my seat stuck in the tree. Yeah, but who throws their [2159.6] Tony: quad seat into a tree [2162.42] Curry: You throw anything I did the same when my plane got stuck in a tree. I found I found some short lengths of rope [2169.14] Curry: And I thought I can I can tie these together and I was looking around trying to find I found a spanner [2174.58] Curry: so I was like, you know [2176.58] Curry: That's doing up and all that happened is I had a plane stuck in the tree [2180.82] Curry: Two bits of rope with spanners hanging down like christmas decorations. It's just like [2185.94] Curry: So i've put a video out and people were commenting fly your tricop truck to get the plane down [2190.26] Curry: It's like there's going to just be this pile of models all stuck in the tree one trying to get the next one [2195.7] Curry: And we're just eventually the tree wife just suppose will fall over from the weight of it all and that would work [2199.78] Curry: But yeah, eventually I got helping with a guy with a very big pole and the rope [2206.5] Jack: Yeah [2207.94] Jack: Enjoy what you've been working on man [2210.5] Tony: You're getting stuck in trees [2213.46] Jack: I love I love [2217.25] Jack: Frank's got [2218.85] Jack: Frank put up a [2220.53] Jack: official [2221.57] Jack: official bootleg ldo t shirt sold by let's go now [2225.97] Jack: 15 pound was 20 [2231.81] Tony: Brilliant [2235.41] Tony: Where's the link put it in the chat [2239.55] Tony: Hold on [2240.75] Tony: Let him let him have his easy fit [2243.15] Jack: Oh mate, i'm sorry [2245.47] Jack: Frank that fucking hilarious. Can you link can you put that in the live? [2249.55] Tony: Can you put that in the live chat and yes curry kitten? [2252.43] Tony: What are you working on and then nj? Can you tell us what you're working on as well, please? [2257.55] Curry: I am so far behind on some [2260.43] Curry: Mainly some fixed wing builds. I had this um [2263.47] Curry: I've got this one called the mini race wing [2265.55] Curry: Which is interesting because it uses um, I don't know if you've seen it. This is the center section of the wing [2270.19] Curry: It's basically like um [2272.91] Curry: Your quad frame type thing [2275.79] Curry: It's the f40 with the teemo [2277.87] Curry: Yeah, that's uh an f. What was it? [2280.51] Curry: Yeah, it's an f80 [2282.19] Curry: and [2283.07] Curry: Oh, sorry. It's got these little things. So if you hit something the wings fly off is the idea. So it's like the [2290.03] Curry: The wing you're not scared of crashing that's nearly finished and I have this [2296.35] Curry: Mini race wing calm mini race wing [2299.39] Curry: Yeah, the two guys in germany [2300.91] Curry: I did a bunch of videos about it because they seem to be trying to do something a bit different and I thought it was quite [2305.71] Curry: Innovative. I think a few people have done this sort of center sections before [2310.43] Curry: But they they had it on a kickstarter and their kickstarter failed and they eventually managed to bring it out and I thought that's interesting [2316.03] Curry: I I like the idea of it and that's going to be like a speed build [2320.51] Curry: As in a fast wing because it should do like 100 and something on 4s [2324.99] Curry: Which I think would be fun [2327.23] Curry: And i've got this massive 2.6 meter glider that i've been [2331.31] Curry: working on for yonks [2333.15] Curry: Um because it's too big [2335.39] Jack: Out in the garden and it was just like massive and you've shown it before you're having trouble the servos at one point [2341.47] Tony: Can we see one wing? [2343.95] Curry: Uh [2345.39] Curry: It's in another room. I can I can get the bits of wing. I'd like to see it. All right, hang on [2351.55] Jack: Please hold it curry kittens an interesting guy, man. He just gets up to [2356.35] Jack: Stuff. I might actually have a little look [2359.63] Jack: I [2361.63] Jack: Want to see his big wing [2363.71] Jack: I should have you know what? [2366.19] Jack: Do you know what? I'm why i'm falling down tonight [2370.03] Jack: Haven't looked back through his old videos [2373.63] Jack: so I can't remember some of the questions that I have for him and that's what i'm [2378.59] Jack: What i'm struggling with because he's going [2381.47] Jack: Uh, you know, he's doing the yeah skyhook inav testing. So he's built like a little [2387.79] Jack: Little model out to see if everything's working for that. So he's working on inav as well, which I need to ask him about [2396.19] Jack: Um, what else has he been up to range testing the ear sheen tx. Oh three [2403.79] Jack: So fpv this dog that's a good one for you [2407.63] Jack: Tone if you want to have a little look at that when junior gets better if you could fpv him [2413.47] Curry: This is why don't keep it in this room [2415.71] Curry: This is one wing it's too big to get in shot [2419.07] Tony: That is quite big [2421.07] Curry: And the fuselage itself [2423.63] Curry: is [2424.83] Curry: huge [2427.07] Curry: Which is this thing [2429.71] Curry: Bloody hell gradually there flight controller their wings out here [2434.43] Curry: What is it called? [2436.03] Curry: Um, this is a skyhook. It's called skyhook discovery. I look forward to seeing that fly [2442.27] Curry: Yeah me and you both [2445.23] Tony: Been working on that [2447.23] Curry: Well, i've had it for like a month [2449.47] Curry: But it's it's kind of like, you know other stuff sort of comes in and you're like, oh, that's a quad [2453.87] Curry: And that's quite quick to do so [2456.75] Curry: So i've got as far as make it mount in the motor [2460.27] Curry: I've just got the servos going in because I had this whole thing about there's got these servo covers [2466.19] Curry: And the servos hold the servo covers hold the servos and then they screw on and I thought that's a really good system [2472.35] Curry: But there's nothing in the wing to actually get the self-tapping screws to bind [2476.67] Curry: So I talked to um the guy that designed it. He said oh, no. No [2480.03] Curry: We told the chinese manufacturers not to put the little [2483.23] Curry: Mounts in there, but they did it anyway. It's like oh, right. So you just rip those out do you and then stick them in? [2487.55] Curry: Yeah, so [2489.39] Curry: Yeah, it's getting there. But it's [2491.79] Curry: It's don't put the what in you don't there's there's these mounts in the in the servo covers [2497.07] Curry: Where the servos actually mount on but you don't do that. You just stick them down to the um [2501.71] Curry: So that basically there's holes in the wing stick them in that [2504.75] Tony: And that's it gonna be fbv, dear [2512.61] Jack: Jack just blew up. Oh the uh fpv stupidness mid air disarming [2520.13] Curry: To [2521.25] Curry: That was crazy. I didn't actually disarm it myself. That was a beta flight bug [2526.13] Curry: but [2527.17] Curry: admittedly [2528.61] Curry: It might be a bit silly to use stick arming if you're gonna fly upside down and put the throttle right down because you might say [2535.17] Curry: Well, I know i'm doing inverted your spin. It's like oh, no, that's the disarm command, isn't it? [2539.81] Curry: but that was [2541.17] Curry: You've never you've never seen 30 seconds stretched out for so long because i'm upside down [2545.81] Curry: I was like i'm just gonna hang here because that's quite cool [2548.37] Curry: And then you see the osd just says disarmed. It's like oh, that's not good. So you're like arm [2553.89] Curry: Arm, it's not arming. You're doing the stick movements. I was like, well, what can I do here? [2557.65] Curry: And then you're twigging halfway down. It's like oh, yeah, it won't arm [2561.73] Curry: Because it's 180 degrees up and it needs to be 20 degrees at which point it hits the floor and you're like, uh [2568.45] Tony: You know, there's lots of think about it. You you are sitting quite high [2573.57] Curry: I feel it's about 100 meters ish, which is quite high in a quad, isn't it? [2577.01] Curry: You've got loads of time to do stuff upside down [2579.81] Curry: Yeah, but I was very lucky in the fact that the quad was quite balanced [2583.09] Curry: So it didn't tumble it just sort of came down just like that [2586.37] Curry: But it smashed up the little oled screen in my um, I had a firefly q6 on it [2592.61] Curry: Which had a little cool screen on it and that smashed it up [2596.37] Curry: Which was a pain, but that's the only thing that broke it literally came came down [2599.81] Curry: It kind of acted like its own wind break [2601.49] Curry: It was coming down like that and it sort of it hit long grass and that was the only thing [2605.17] Curry: I couldn't believe that was the only thing that broke on it [2608.45] Curry: From that distance because meanwhile, of course you just like [2611.97] Curry: You flip you flip down and it crashed somewhere else and they aren't breaks. It's like what's going on [2617.81] Tony: What's your favorite quad at the moment? [2620.69] Curry: Oh easy. It's it's this one. It was just something to have here. It's the aurora 100 [2625.57] Curry: Have you guys been flying these little [2627.57] Curry: micros [2628.69] Tony: nj takeover [2630.61] NJ: Yeah, i've been i've got the one i've been i just put a video up today on it. Actually, uh, it's the the little ishin lizard [2637.89] NJ: Oh, yeah. Yeah, I thought which i've been really [2641.25] NJ: Just blown away with how um, you know [2644.29] NJ: I've been throwing everything I can think of at it in terms of freestyle acro [2648.77] NJ: And uh, yeah, it just seems quite happy to do it and [2652.05] NJ: It's just it's that I mentioned it before it's just the power to weight ratio on these is so great [2657.33] NJ: That you can be and and there's no because there's no weight and there's no inertia to it [2662.21] NJ: You can be just diving at the ground [2664.37] NJ: Flatten out and in a five-inch quad if you haven't got an absolute ton of thrust and very talky motors to recover [2670.61] NJ: you're gonna you're gonna you're gonna go straight into the ground whereas these guys just kind of level out and you can [2676.29] NJ: You know, they just means you can corner them like house flies. So yeah, i've been super impressed with this thing [2681.73] Curry: It's so good. Totally agree [2682.93] Curry: It's the power to weight thing, isn't it because you can I literally fly this around myself and it's like because i'm watching myself [2688.45] Curry: Um, i'm in the goggles and i was like i'll do a turn around myself [2691.33] Curry: And it's literally I can just wrap it [2693.41] Curry: Down my head without thinking about it and it's made me think like [2697.97] Curry: You know the 200 size quads, why are they so slow i've been trying to trying to now [2703.57] Curry: Where I was quite happy with the way they flew before since flying this i've been trying to tune the other quads [2708.53] Curry: To try and get that level of performance because they've got extra inertia. You flip them into a turn [2713.97] Curry: You've got all that extra stuff. So you need crazy power [2717.09] Curry: Or crazy camera angle so you can have it over that much to just do it [2721.01] Curry: So i've been experimenting with that that's quite interesting as well just to see sort of the way the different setups work [2726.05] Curry: Yeah, I think that's a very good reason [2729.01] Tony: Yeah, totally two inch quads or three [2732.45] NJ: This is two this guy. I think the well, yeah, the two inch [2735.81] Curry: I think that's the the same for curry kit and so on. I think these are 1900s. It's essentially about two inch. Yeah [2745.09] Tony: Yeah, i've just got a build for jack to do i've got a revo three [2750.53] Tony: With um, i've got all the kit for him to do so i'm looking forward to that because [2755.41] Tony: The three inch are looking [2757.41] Tony: Quite competitive i've seen quite a few [2760.21] Tony: videos of [2761.41] Tony: Three inch flying racetracks and pretty much keeping up if not some sometimes [2768.45] NJ: Beating the five inch quads. Yeah, i've got a new one that's um arrived yesterday actually [2773.25] NJ: So, you know, I fly the ready eddy frames, which is the beast x that's my main [2778.53] NJ: Five inch frame there that guy that's what i did all my acro stuff with [2782.37] NJ: Um, i've just been sent the new baby beast which is you can see the [2787.25] NJ: the frame size [2789.25] NJ: Difference. Yeah, so that's that's a little three inch and i've got the uh, the new cobra [2795.15] NJ: 1407 [2797.09] NJ: 4100 kv motors for that [2799.09] NJ: So that should be and it's a stretch deck so you can see there's a slightly different, uh layout [2803.17] NJ: But yeah, really excited to build that because the last three inch i built which is here [2808.61] NJ: Just happened to have it in the hand which was that little guy [2811.73] NJ: um [2813.01] NJ: That was great. Really really impressed with that. And again, you know, i've raced this alongside five inch quads and [2819.33] NJ: Did pretty well led for a couple of laps, you know, they're they really are great. So yeah, super high power setup like this [2826.21] NJ: I think they're uh [2827.89] Tony: They're awesome [2833.09] NJ: Yeah, i've got a set of those here too actually i've still got an atto build to do [2837.17] NJ: um [2839.17] NJ: Which has got those brother hobby motors. So i'll be that'll be a good one to compare against this with the cobras [2845.49] NJ: But yeah, the I think the small the micros and the three inch everything sub three inch at the minute is [2851.49] NJ: Getting a lot of attention. Um [2853.81] NJ: Which is great. Um, which is you know, something i said before if they ever do enforce this sub 250 gram rule [2859.97] NJ: Which I hope they don't um, I feel less upset about it knowing that these micros can fly so damn well [2866.53] Tony: They do fly really well. I've got a two inch upton frame [2870.13] Tony: Daniel upton and it and it flies it's probably at my best flying quad [2875.49] Tony: It flies amazing and they're these are just push on two inch props. You know, you just [2881.49] Tony: push them on the motor they're they're um brushless but [2886.13] Tony: It's it flies fantastic. It's pretty pretty quick [2890.29] Tony: I wouldn't race it. Um [2892.93] Tony: just get you just get pushed out of the way, but [2897.09] Tony: Out on the street and flying around my house and stuff. It's great. Great fun [2903.17] Curry: This uh yesterday. I got this thing through as a review thing, which is a monster 76 mil [2909.41] Curry: which is [2910.69] Curry: So far has been a bit of a dog [2912.69] Curry: actually [2913.81] Curry: What it is really bad what they shipped it with somehow this came out of the factory [2919.17] Curry: And um, I had a look in beta flight what it was set to and it was set to ppm [2923.33] Curry: And on the receiver I noticed that [2926.37] Curry: Was set to ppm. It was all [2928.53] Curry: Sold it in already and it just it would bind but then I wouldn't get anything on the radio and I had to open it up [2934.37] Curry: And they'd sold it over the s bus [2937.01] Curry: Um jumpers, so they set up the ppm everywhere and then s bus on the receiver [2942.53] Curry: So that didn't work. So I had to [2944.83] Curry: Re-sold one of the wires and then trying to take off for the first time to test it out [2949.49] Curry: I then found out they put three props of the same rotation on instead of just two [2954.77] Curry: so that right chicken dance and uh, then I then lastly I found out the battery went into um [2961.97] Curry: From from fully charged it went to 6.4 on takeoff. So [2966.45] Curry: There are a few problems with that one. So not all micro things are good. This one's not that good so far [2971.73] NJ: Yeah, I remember probably I think panty rc did a review on that one as well [2975.41] NJ: And he came the king came to the same conclusion as you did. Um, and I think some of the um, [2981.17] NJ: The other problem with that one was those those are not particularly great props. Are they um, those kind of [2987.57] NJ: They don't look like they've been designed for the size rather rather. They're uh, [2991.73] Curry: Large they are they are a cutest shape. I found this video because I wanted to double check [2996.29] Curry: I was like, this is crazy. They've soldered this up wrong and then I was like, oh no, this is this part for the course [3000.93] Curry: but yeah, I saw he mentioned about the other props and I did um [3004.93] Curry: I didn't fpv. I just hovered it in the garden. I did a quick dvr recording [3009.41] Curry: Just to see just to double check that battery was sagging which it was [3013.41] Curry: And uh, yeah, there was there was some jello on it and it didn't look particularly good from the [3019.33] Curry: Probably the props point of view but I haven't got any other props enough. I start hacking down some of these ones [3024.53] Curry: I would try out and see how this [3027.57] Curry: Different yeah, absolutely [3030.05] Tony: I've been flying 150s for years, man [3033.17] Tony: He he what did I have? [3035.57] Tony: What jack are you still there? What did you build me when I come second second place in a couple years ago at the indoor? [3042.37] Jack: He she's 210 or something. No, uh, he she [3047.25] Tony: Something 180, you know, I cut the props with scissors [3051.65] Tony: And come second place. Yeah, that was [3055.17] Jack: That was hilarious, but yeah, that was such a good quote. I was so well behaved [3059.89] Jack: It really was it was a cool little thing still worked that quad. I think we sorted it but we [3070.37] Tony: It probably needs another yeah, I think we should upgrade that [3073.65] Tony: I think I think you might be right [3076.53] Tony: Yeah, see a new flight controller [3078.93] Jack: That was two years ago. We were flying that indoor. Yeah [3082.53] Jack: flight controller with a receiver on it [3086.29] Jack: to go [3088.21] Jack: That was a red five that was [3091.97] Jack: Yeah, they they stopped supporting it now red fives [3098.85] Jack: So yeah f1 boards no longer no longer a thing, um [3104.69] Jack: I'm sure I know going [3108.37] Curry: How are you going to put it on or something? Well, that's supposed to be going on a skyhook that that's yeah, that's like going um [3115.81] Curry: Sort of back to basics because it's like oh, it looks like beta flight, but nothing feels like beta flight. It's um [3122.85] Curry: because the the build I was doing it for is is complicated by the fact that [3128.13] Curry: there's it needs um [3130.53] Curry: This crow breaking thing where the the flaps go down and the ailerons go up at the same time to slow it down [3136.61] Curry: Because the guy that gave me it says if you don't have this [3139.09] Curry: You'll come down to land and it'll go on for like a kilometer or something ridiculous because it's so efficient [3144.93] Curry: so i've i've got it working but [3147.17] Curry: I know it's really [3148.77] Curry: Weird. I don't know if it's it's about the boards because I hadn't i've got an omnibus f3 for this because I thought [3155.17] Curry: it'll do the [3157.01] Curry: Power distribution for me. Uh, I don't have to think around five volts [3160.61] Curry: It'll have an osd for me so I can see you know [3163.49] Curry: How far i'm away and the direction home and the voltage and stuff and it's got the normal pwm pins [3170.29] Curry: But then you look at inav and it says, okay, the first two pwm pins are always reserved for motors [3176.45] Curry: but you know [3177.97] Curry: A few planes have more than one motor [3180.85] Curry: And then you can use you should be able to use the next six for everything. I was like no problem [3184.77] Curry: I've got well i'm gonna have seven seven servos in there, but I can use the first six, but no I could only use two [3191.09] Curry: because of some [3192.45] Curry: Bizarreness about if you use the s bus connector, then you can't get access to [3197.25] Curry: Pins three and four unless you change that from that specific s bus connectors over to those other ur [3202.61] Curry: So it's all really weird [3203.89] Curry: I've never quite spent so much time in the cli doing stuff [3207.57] Curry: as I have with um [3211.01] Curry: It's it's certainly days for it. I guess at some point it's going to be like [3215.09] Curry: Maybe beat a flight where you just like plug it in you flash the latest version you go off and fly [3218.69] Curry: Maybe it'll be like that. I'll have some models. You just drag down say I have this plane [3223.01] Curry: Whatever, but I don't I don't know many people has anybody tried it on quads for um doing stuff and [3229.25] Curry: I guess it works better on like a bigger quads doesn't it for doing now stuff. Oh god. Tell us about them [3234.45] Curry: so I bought [3237.81] Jack: A [3239.81] Jack: A test electro hub [3243.49] Jack: You know wooden arms that it had like a [3246.29] Jack: You know power distribution board center you've able to screw it on it's made a word. We called it the poocopter [3252.77] Jack: Because it was [3253.97] Jack: Like it was just horrendously put together [3256.77] Jack: I need a test platform to things. I should have never sold it [3262.05] Jack: And the efc's were taped up rather than the heat shrunk like no [3267.89] Jack: During the whole assembly of that pod and it flew lovely [3274.37] Jack: by out for ages [3278.45] Tony: Than a dji phantom [3281.25] Tony: I [3283.25] Tony: If it crashes you can set fire to it and keep warm [3287.33] Jack: Yeah [3289.33] Jack: Um, we what was it a 5000 milliamp hour battery or something? Yeah, what was the size of that battery? [3296.85] Tony: 5000 milliamp and we've done what? Uh over 28 minutes, I think [3302.69] Tony: They've done it half an hour flight. Yeah, it was great. Just kept going and get going [3308.53] Jack: Yeah, it got so dark. We flipped it [3311.41] Jack: saw all the gyros [3314.05] Jack: flew it far away [3316.45] Jack: like [3317.73] Jack: Lost that like connection by sticking under trees are too long [3322.37] Jack: And it just it oh man anything you could do to it [3328.29] Tony: It was really bad with the day very very slow at rolling though, wasn't it? [3333.49] Jack: Yeah, it was fine and then i've kind of built this carbon fiber monster [3339.97] Jack: Yeah, have you got it to show you got it there? Yeah, and uh, i've had problems [3346.29] Tony: Show the frame though because you designed the frame and everything didn't you? [3350.93] Jack: All right. Well, I mean I did a crew drawing and then down up to like totally refined it [3355.97] Tony: Yeah, draw it up in the air so people can see have you got it there? [3361.01] Jack: I'm not getting it [3363.57] Jack: Don't make me [3365.17] Jack: Is it yeah, it's all the way over there [3368.93] Curry: It's too far away [3370.93] Curry: It's humongous. I wonder it stayed up in the air so long. What size props did it have? [3376.61] Jack: Like 15 inch or something? Uh, seriously, it's um 69 centimeters [3381.99] Jack: You know [3384.55] Jack: What size props [3387.27] Jack: Uh 10 [3390.79] Jack: 9 really but it can go to [3394.63] Jack: It it's meant to be on tens. But yeah, like fair plays, you know [3400.31] Jack: The only I was chatting to julie like wrote a write me, um, or should I say the afterthought me? Um, I [3409.19] Jack: uh [3410.15] Jack: I was chatting to dominic clifton and um, look at me name dropping [3416.95] Jack: He was just like I asked about the omnibus and he just goes [3422.63] Jack: Different [3424.15] Jack: ports all over the place [3426.55] Jack: And then just try and connect them up [3429.27] Jack: Uh, you know, like there's very little thought they try and like rush everything out. So if you have got some of the [3436.79] Jack: You know, like some of their like earlier revisions and that like the [3442.07] Jack: The first omnibus boards are really good. The seconds are the worst and third [3447.43] Jack: You know, they're kind of they're not kind of sort sort of shooting things out. But like it's [3455.43] Jack: Man like for instance like the second one the led [3462.55] Jack: Shorts onto another pad because he's so close [3466.55] Jack: So awful that you know the omnibus f4 with the the um [3471.67] Jack: the power, uh, you know the [3474.71] Jack: Monitoring system on it. So yeah that one it's horrendous [3479.51] Curry: Yeah, my one broke [3481.83] Curry: so [3483.27] Curry: I I had one to review from banggood and um, it's like it doesn't work literally didn't work because the um [3491.51] Curry: The the whole power distribution on the bottom of the board fell off [3496.15] Curry: And didn't work any any longer. So it wouldn't actually get any power. So I managed to um, I was like, oh i'll put five volts in from my [3503.83] Curry: Normal pad distribution. I couldn't be bothered to wire up the sensor because it was going on to an existing quad [3508.79] Curry: And then I found that one of the the um pwm ports wasn't working [3513.27] Curry: But it was quite good because I got to use that. Um, what was the command called resource command? [3517.75] Curry: To find out how to map a pin to another pin, which is something I didn't know about so, you know silver linings [3523.43] Jack: Hang on. Let me just add time. Keep talking [3526.15] Jack: I mean for instance, did you ever um [3529.03] Jack: Did you have a multimeter test the um? [3532.95] Jack: Well, you know like because you provide it with power [3536.47] Jack: then [3537.75] Jack: You know put multimeter on the five volt that's generated on the board [3542.63] Jack: You know if it's slightly lower because there's a shit ton of uh diodes just doing nothing [3547.27] Jack: They've just kind of added them for fun [3550.47] Jack: You know like [3552.31] Curry: I don't know if the omnibus is bad or do you think the way it's going because they're cramming so much on the boards now [3556.95] Curry: It's like everybody wants like oh, I want built in escs and I want an osd [3561.59] Curry: And oh, yeah, let's have let's have the vtx on the board as well and also the receiver [3567.27] Curry: And it's like this poor thing is like trying to pull down so much power [3571.59] Curry: Something gives to it [3574.15] NJ: Yeah, I I agreed. You know, I did a build series on on a quad using the beta flight f3 and [3582.07] NJ: Although it just looks like it's going to be such a great idea with everything on one place [3587.11] NJ: It was actually just a enormous mess of wires once you've actually got everything onto it [3594.07] NJ: Uh, and you sit there and you look at it and you think oh actually this god [3597.67] NJ: How are they going to keep this clean? There's going to be wires crossing all next to each other as [3602.07] NJ: I I found it a miracle that there wasn't just a ton of uh noise [3606.95] NJ: In the in the video signal i'm really surprised they managed to keep the video clean [3612.07] NJ: Um and reasonably well filtered with with so much going on especially a damn great big current sensor on the board as well [3618.95] NJ: um [3619.99] NJ: So yeah, it's uh, i've got to say even though the the all-in-ones are great. I still prefer that traditional stack [3627.67] NJ: approach [3629.27] NJ: um [3630.79] NJ: Yeah, it's an it's interesting [3633.43] Curry: Yeah, although I think goes wrong [3635.75] Curry: Sorry, I said do like the osd on the board [3637.75] Curry: I I used to use that the little microminim osd with the mwsd firmware, which is really good [3643.75] Curry: But it's just it's such an odd shape [3645.67] Curry: So at the end of like you've got your nice stack [3647.91] Curry: Yeah [3648.39] Curry: And then you have to wire that thing up and it's not [3650.87] Curry: Ever pointing the right way and you've got a time of you've got this sort of hanging off the board [3654.47] Curry: Which is sort of stick down there and heat shrink it over [3657.67] Jack: And nothing's quite that hot as well burn so hot. Yeah [3661.83] Jack: like my passion for tony [3663.99] Jack: um [3666.31] Tony: I'd like to get connected again and again now google, please [3670.07] Jack: It seems tiny. Okay, tony's getting me news. Just in um [3676.93] Jack: do me [3678.93] Jack: Uh, yeah, the only thing is is like the separate hardware if anything goes wrong you can just switch bits out [3685.89] Jack: Yeah [3687.01] Jack: Don't get me that [3688.61] Jack: You know, I agree with that [3691.81] NJ: I do I do agree with that the only thing I would say is like [3694.77] NJ: Andy rc pointed out and i've got to be in the same boat here with all the stuff that i've been sent to review [3701.41] NJ: None of it's gone wrong and I really want something to go wrong one [3705.33] NJ: Quarter of the ese's on that single board to go wrong so I can just say yep [3709.89] NJ: That's why i'm going to stick single ese's but so far everything's been fine [3713.73] NJ: Do you want me to send you some of my stuff? Because I had [3717.09] Curry: I had the fly tower 390 [3719.49] Curry: That get that destroyed my relationship with gearbest it would say because they like would you like to review this? I was like sure [3725.41] Curry: and [3726.37] Curry: Like it's brilliant because again, you just connect your motors up and it's like we're ready to go [3731.09] Curry: Do the motor calibration. Okay, let's go move on and then suddenly the board broke [3735.33] Curry: And then so I emailed the guy from gearbest forever and sort of stalked him on facebook [3740.93] Curry: But he managed to avoid me. I tried emailing fly tower. It's like can you help me try and work out what's going on here? [3747.09] Curry: Didn't get anything. So I had to [3749.09] Curry: Like to come out with video say this doesn't work. Maybe yours does but mine doesn't it's crap [3753.89] Curry: And then the omnibus has gone wrong [3756.21] Curry: this [3757.33] Curry: Thing has got three props wrong and [3761.25] Curry: Had to be resoldered. It's it's not going brilliantly in some ways but other stuff works [3767.49] Jack: If you have ever after hours chat with [3770.75] Jack: Andy i'll see and i'll ask him about some of the awful stuff [3774.69] Jack: That's been said to him who he doesn't know [3777.57] Jack: from [3778.85] Jack: That is hilarious [3782.93] Jack: Yeah, honestly, he's like I can't review this this is awful and ends up giving it to the charity shop and the charity shops refuse to sell [3791.33] Jack: It's that bad [3793.65] Jack: It's [3795.65] Jack: so bad [3797.09] Jack: it makes a child's life [3799.57] Jack: worse whatever charity or [3802.05] Jack: uh [3804.05] Jack: trying to [3805.25] Jack: Yeah, trying to give it to [3807.33] Jack: um [3808.85] Jack: God, what did I put in my so? Oh, yeah, I was chatting to don clifton. So he's got an f7 board [3815.09] Jack: I don't know where i'm supposed to be talking about it, but he showed us [3819.81] Jack: And uh, yeah very interesting so f7 is the best that we're [3824.77] Jack: ever gonna get and [3826.61] Jack: He's crammed supports on it and an little interesting thing that he for in one [3833.01] Jack: uh, you know, um, esd or [3836.13] Jack: A power a separate power distribution board. So, you know, like with the beat flight board [3841.25] Jack: You can't run all that current through just one of the little pads [3844.69] Jack: he now put a really big pad and smaller pads for all the [3849.97] Jack: Run straight for the board and everything's on top instead of on the bottom and on top and so forth [3857.17] Jack: I don't know [3859.41] Jack: Laid out quite nicely sounds interesting [3862.69] Tony: Yeah, that's that [3864.13] NJ: Is a bit of a weakness with with the bait flight board. Um is that the the worst offender for me? [3870.37] NJ: Is just the fact that you've got the esc [3873.09] NJ: connections [3874.45] NJ: power power wise on the underside [3877.49] NJ: um [3878.45] NJ: And it just makes it a real nightmare to why I had to kind of when I actually put it together [3883.49] NJ: I made the back to esc power wires [3886.45] NJ: long enough [3887.73] NJ: So that I could actually kind of hinge the board up [3891.01] NJ: If I needed to service the underside of it [3892.93] NJ: There's all these things that you think you have to think about before you put one of those together [3897.17] NJ: um, whereas I think there's got to be a fair few people that have just kind of maybe [3902.21] NJ: Wired the holes that maybe flipped it over wired it flipped it back over and then built everything but then have [3908.45] NJ: absolute nightmare task disassembling to [3911.73] NJ: to service anything on the board [3914.45] NJ: So there's all these little things you have to take into account [3916.93] NJ: I guess whereas obviously with the traditional one [3918.85] NJ: it's just pop the top one off and work on the power stack if you want and [3922.77] NJ: Yeah, it's um, that's really interesting that he's thought about that because yeah, the build side of it is [3927.89] NJ: It's really really uh, really important, but it's it's such a small space. You know, there's only physically so much you can [3934.29] NJ: You can you can cram onto the top side [3936.77] Tony: So we're talking about [3938.93] Tony: No, let me interrupt we're talking about f7 boards and f3 and f4 [3944.37] Tony: Race flight are running f4 boards [3947.57] Tony: beta flight [3948.77] Tony: decided to go [3950.45] Tony: f3 [3951.81] Tony: um [3952.77] Tony: Why is f7 gonna be the best board or the end board? [3958.61] Tony: Well, that's all we've got and why did boris go f3 and not f4 or f7 [3964.77] Jack: so [3965.81] Jack: If four is the port is that right in joe [3969.49] Jack: So yeah, but basically invert issue [3972.45] NJ: Yeah, there's there's there's no there's no [3974.85] NJ: Um, if you look at what the f3s are doing in terms of look at how efficient the code is now [3979.41] NJ: Uh, I mean if we go back to some of the earlier versions of the code you can see where the cpu [3985.09] NJ: Level was sitting and now, you know, it's right on the floor. The code's been so well optimized [3989.89] NJ: Um on an f3 the f4 there's just so much head room for for the math that's going on [3994.85] NJ: It's just not needed. You just you don't need [3997.65] NJ: Um, the f3s aren't [4000.29] NJ: You know, they aren't a bottleneck in the system if you like so there's there's really at the minute [4005.33] NJ: There's no need [4006.69] NJ: To uh to go any higher certainly not higher than f4 right now [4010.85] NJ: And that was the main reason I think why why boris? [4013.97] NJ: Went f3 in the in the first place with the bait flight board. He didn't see there was a need [4020.45] NJ: To go any higher [4022.21] NJ: But um in terms of speed and reaction speed, of course the other the other limiting factor in there is [4028.77] NJ: Is air is you know the? [4031.09] NJ: The aerodynamics of the whole thing. Um [4034.45] NJ: There's only there's only a there's a finite speed that we need everything to respond to. Um, [4040.37] NJ: and I [4041.41] NJ: Yeah, I I just don't think we're gonna actually need to go [4045.09] NJ: Into the into the realms of of crazy high processing [4048.93] Tony: We don't need [4051.49] Jack: No, but the future proofing [4055.17] Jack: it also we [4057.25] Jack: Someone like boris could use it for development testing and if you don't release it to everyone or you don't push the boundaries [4065.25] Jack: It's room for [4066.93] Jack: Ideas. I I learned something the other day, you know the um [4073.48] Jack: Dominic [4075.08] Jack: Started looking the led code a new led code for like programming all your leds [4081.0] Jack: And then they used that code and modified it to make d shot [4085.88] Jack: There's like loads of little things where they're starting to use [4089.64] Jack: and then [4090.92] Jack: longer used and using it for like seeing other ideas from it and [4095.16] Jack: Things which I found quite interesting. I need to get dominique on one of these days, but I worry that tony's head will explode [4103.08] Jack: for [4105.4] Tony: People [4107.08] Jack: Like i'm science here in lizard people thrown out stop, you know spreading ice of coconut everywhere burning the place [4116.92] Tony: It would be interesting to have dom on and I might give him a message later and ask him to come on [4121.32] Tony: Maybe we can get more next week [4123.88] Jack: I give you his phone number [4127.24] Tony: Annoying people I annoy people until they come on [4131.96] Jack: What is pro shot 1000 no idea [4137.16] NJ: any idea guys [4138.84] NJ: Not looked into the uh into pro shot 1000 i've heard of it. But um, that's probably a question [4146.04] NJ: Uh zero might might know i'm waiting to see if he responds to that [4149.64] NJ: He seems to be one of these people that stays right on top of the uh [4153.24] Tony: Right on the bleeding edge [4156.92] Tony: You're on the spot now in the chat [4159.88] Curry: Where's my point of view is it's like oh this quad flies all right and then something else comes out and it's like well [4165.56] Curry: I'm not gonna update it because it's all right [4168.12] Curry: it's kind of like there's um [4170.44] Curry: Back back when like the one shot stuff came out. There was this great big leap from like the pwm stuff to one shot [4177.0] Curry: and then the sort of [4178.76] Curry: The loop time went to like two kilohertz and that was good [4181.88] Curry: But it seems like everything since then's been [4184.44] Curry: Improvement but little increments which like you can take or leave it kind of depends. It's kind of like I suppose [4190.2] Curry: F3 versus f4 versus f7 [4192.76] Curry: My f3 board I can turn everything on [4195.16] Curry: And run it fast and it's like it's up to like, you know, 19 utilization [4199.24] Curry: It's like come on. I need more stuff to run so I can [4202.2] Curry: Make the cpu do stuff. There's not that much. Yeah [4204.84] NJ: It's it's the it's the thing of diminishing returns, isn't it? [4207.0] NJ: There's there's a point at which you know that as you say it's so incremental now those those steps [4212.28] NJ: You know prop wash is getting smaller and smaller [4215.24] NJ: And you know, the tunes are getting better straight out the box. Everything's you know [4219.08] NJ: those those every time you double the speed of the esc and [4223.96] NJ: It's doing exactly as you say those little changes are getting smaller and smaller smaller to the point where we don't then [4230.44] NJ: Need exponentially more cpu, you know, it's it's we're getting to the point where it's just fine [4235.4] NJ: Where where it is, I mean how much how much better can the flight characteristics get? [4240.6] NJ: I think we're uh, we're going to approach that that point fairly soon [4244.92] Tony: We're in the chat. They're talking pro shot has already been superseded by disco 2000 [4252.84] Tony: There you go [4254.2] NJ: I remember when the disco the disco was an affectionate term for the tbs frame, wasn't it? [4260.28] Tony: It was or a middle school dance [4264.68] NJ: It's pro shot must be one of the the the 32 bit esc protocols perhaps [4271.88] NJ: um [4273.24] Jack: I have got no idea. I am so out of the loop [4278.52] Jack: Man, i'm just going through some of your old videos like we need to get our we need to get our subscribers on [4286.12] Tony: Huh, I need to get some of our subscribers live chat [4290.68] Curry: I know you need the esc protocol experts just to explain them and say why is this better? [4297.08] Tony: Why does it make me a better pilot [4300.68] Jack: What um, what what rpgs did you used to apply? Oh look paper mario [4306.76] Jack: Well, you know i'll be sorry [4313.48] Curry: Yeah, i've only i've only ever finished one final fantasy game, would you believe after starting loads of them [4318.36] Curry: I haven't even finished one fantasy seven. I've i've finished fun. I haven't either [4329.17] NJ: That's a life commitment final fantasy games, isn't it? [4332.77] Curry: Yeah, if you don't and I I have this [4335.49] Curry: Especially with games where I used to like collect so many [4338.29] Curry: It's like i'll start playing something I get 20 hours and i was like, oh this has come along now [4341.97] Curry: And then you try and go back into some rpg and you can't remember [4345.81] Curry: If like, you know, especially with these japanese ones [4348.21] Curry: It's like oh this hero has now betrayed me and his dad is now someone else in my past and I have the time travel [4354.53] Curry: Back to here to find out some other stuff [4358.13] Curry: But um, I don't know [4359.49] Curry: The favorite I played lately was on the snares because I still like my electro stuff, which was chrono trigger [4364.61] Curry: I put like 40 hours into playing that on like uh [4367.97] Curry: An android tablet with proper joystick and stuff and that was really cool [4371.97] Jack: The release in the new mini snares. Yes, it might be out on that [4375.89] Jack: It might be I don't know you'd have to check it out [4378.61] Jack: But i've just put a link in the chat [4381.65] Jack: Because um, someone looked at do you remember like ps1? So you used to be able to chip them? [4386.13] Jack: So now you're going to flash in aduino [4388.77] Jack: Tip your own in the playstation. So i've gotten a japanese version of um, five fantasy seven [4394.77] Jack: So I want to be able to play that [4398.13] Jack: Have a clue what's going on [4400.13] Jack: I've got the original version, but yeah, I was just still finding little project to do [4405.41] Jack: So I might record me doing that being like what? [4408.93] Jack: Oh and wishing I had an assistant [4411.65] Jack: What pit loop would that be running it? I don't know. I think it's I think it's only uh, I you know, uh [4418.85] Jack: Is it 16-bit like um playstation? [4423.89] Jack: The first station was 32-bit wasn't it? It was way ahead of the time [4428.29] Jack: Yeah, sorry [4430.69] Jack: Well the n64 wasn't that 64-bit [4433.97] Tony: No [4437.97] Curry: It was supposedly maybe had a 32-bit bus but could do two instructions at a time or something bizarro [4444.21] Jack: Yeah, 32-bit. Yeah [4446.93] Jack: Yes, nes, I can solder your you games jack [4452.29] NJ: No, so kept carrying it. I've got to ask. Um, what's what's exciting? What's around the corner? What's what's next to the channel? [4460.13] Curry: Um, I turn out i've got a bunch of [4463.41] Curry: regular reviews i've always got um, I started making a document about when I found [4468.61] Curry: Ideas, I was like, I must try this. I I try and write it down. So my most exciting [4474.13] Curry: things for me are [4475.57] Curry: perhaps the the things that bore other people which is like, oh, I wonder if I can [4481.57] Curry: do this like bizarre little thing and [4484.85] Curry: Uh, which I don't want to talk about because it's kind of like oh, then someone else must steal my idea [4490.05] Jack: But i've got um, no, but if you say it here first, then it's a reference for I did it first [4495.65] Curry: Is it? [4496.69] Curry: uh [4497.73] Jack: Well, you know [4498.61] Jack: The sooner you get it out there and you can record that you've come out with the idea [4503.17] Jack: Because no doubt you'll just get to the editing stage and you've done it and then someone will release it first [4508.69] Curry: Or someone will say oh the people have already done that [4511.01] Curry: So yeah, pardon me. So some something for example that i've got the bits to do and i'm trying to get around to it [4516.29] Curry: Which other people have already done is I bought I went to the entertainer toy store [4520.93] Curry: When I was out with my daughter and we found one of these little polystyrene gliders for like three quid [4526.37] Jack: and the chalk one [4528.21] Curry: yeah, and uh, we tested it and you know, one of the tails fell off the the um, [4534.53] Curry: The rudders and stuff, but we're going to convert that to rc and fpv if we can and it's like I spent [4541.33] Curry: A year thinking about how to do I did a bottle rocket wing [4545.09] Curry: Where we we um, we had my old [4548.13] Curry: Wing wings at 84 which is about 800 mil and we [4552.13] Curry: 3d printed some bits to put a bottle on it and then we pressurized it up with a bicycle pump and started launching that [4557.65] Curry: And I managed to do like a sort of 10 second fpv flight through that that sort of thing's good fun [4562.77] Curry: so I had some some other ideas about [4566.05] Curry: Could you use like a quad? [4568.69] Curry: To put someone in and I will say this is being done safely when we get to do it [4573.49] Curry: Can I put someone in a vehicle? [4575.49] Curry: Have them drive using fpv goggles of me flying along first person watching them with a quad [4582.05] Curry: Will they crash or will they be able to drive because it's a bit like playing grand fifth auto you you're used to that overhead sort of [4589.01] Curry: Viewpoint so surely it'd be easy [4591.01] NJ: You know what? There's a great video if you haven't already seen it or someone there was a football game [4596.77] Curry: And everyone yeah, everyone was a top down thing and they were just like that's so funny [4602.21] NJ: Going around like this and able to pick the ball [4604.29] NJ: I think it was the goalkeeper that was just hanging onto the ground for dear life. Just just [4609.09] NJ: Crawling couldn't handle it at all. It's brilliant [4611.97] NJ: Yeah, that sounds like a good test. So you could [4614.85] NJ: So part of the direction of the channel sounds like a bit um, sort of like the Colin Firth of RC [4620.69] Curry: Well, you know, there's always like sort of reviews and [4626.45] Curry: Flights and stuff like that, but i've i've always got these little [4630.53] Curry: Projects sort of bubbling under about let's let's try that and I love um [4634.53] Curry: Whenever I try and meet up with friends, uh, especially one of my mates crikey. He always comes up with these interesting ideas like we're on [4642.29] Curry: We're on the south coast and his his thing is like should we fly to the Isle of Wight and back one day? [4646.69] Curry: And see if we could do that which brings the old like would you want to put that on youtube or not? [4650.77] Curry: But it's an interesting [4652.45] Curry: It's always an interesting technical test for it, isn't it? [4655.65] Curry: Because i'm like, oh yeah, man. I'm slightly i'm slightly afraid about crashing into the water and he makes the point about [4661.49] Curry: When we fly because we can we can find a bit it's in about like three four kilometers [4665.65] Curry: It's like when we've been out of three four kilometers, we've not crashed before [4669.97] Curry: therefore [4671.09] Curry: Just having water in the way won't make it bad [4674.05] Curry: So yeah, those those ideas kind of excite me because it's something a little bit [4680.21] Curry: I like doing the reviews and flying the quads and just getting out with with friends and doing and stuff [4684.21] Curry: But um my own little things that I think about and think oh, I wonder if we can [4688.69] Curry: Do this sort of thing and a bit a little bit different and it will involve me trying to you know [4693.65] Curry: Design something or printing something out on the printer to try and make stuff happen is always, uh, different and exciting [4700.45] Jack: Good [4702.45] Jack: You could so do I think the only illegal thing that you could [4706.69] Jack: Do from the isle of white is that you wouldn't be in? [4710.13] Jack: line of sight [4712.21] Jack: On a boat chasing it [4715.41] Curry: Yeah, we could we could go with that. Yeah, we were on the boat all the way no problem [4720.45] Jack: Yeah, you know, I think I think that is possible because there's a who was that guy who who used to work on [4727.41] Jack: a [4728.37] Jack: light cruise ship [4729.97] Jack: Right, and you'd like fly around the cruise ship [4733.73] Jack: And the does that that australia the plane [4736.85] Curry: Yeah, he's supposed to need ages is he because he he he would only post a video for [4742.77] Curry: Invariable lose his quad into the sea at some point [4746.21] Curry: Yeah, all the footage about that point was brilliant. And then it was like returned home [4751.89] Tony: Yeah, I used to watch him he used to do some really good videos [4755.81] Tony: Yeah, he was a lot of fun. What was his name? [4758.93] Jack: No way tina storm caller says there's an airport on the [4764.61] Jack: Crew so you need to be careful about flying in their space. I landed [4771.28] Jack: so I [4774.84] Jack: You know, maybe if you had someone with the caa license and got permission to do it. I think it'll be fine [4781.32] Curry: Yeah, it's it's it'd be nice to do it sort of under the radar. It's it's kind of there's there's a whole bunch of [4787.96] Curry: You know videos I also keep unlisted and just hey look what we did [4792.84] Jack: All right, mate now like please like send me the links, please [4798.12] Jack: You're going to be another mad dog [4801.32] Curry: Not an official one there are still meets at that field [4805.16] Curry: But the guy that was organizing it rich is is having real life situations that he's still sorting out for the last couple of years [4812.52] Curry: So there there are great hazelie meets and there was one [4816.12] Curry: Um [4817.4] Curry: That was one a couple of weeks ago and for that there's one in august [4820.28] Curry: But it's it's now [4822.12] Curry: only fixed wing [4824.04] Curry: Because there was an incident with a phantom in someone's garden who came across and threatened someone with a shotgun [4831.56] Curry: What he didn't actually have it with him, but he said he was going to go and get it [4835.16] Curry: So there was there was an agreement with the village that there would be no, um, no quads there anymore. It's just fixed wing [4841.16] Curry: But yeah, that's that's great fun to um, just get together everybody [4847.56] Tony: If anyone gets a shotgun out it's always fun [4851.72] Curry: It's it's fair to me [4854.28] Jack: Yeah, that might be worth a challenge [4857.32] Jack: The the [4858.76] Jack: Caught out the sky then will be here [4863.16] Tony: 250 versus shotgun. Yeah, that'd be a good video. I think yeah 100 [4872.28] Jack: And has anyone heard from down about fright night this weekend's tone did he post back in the chat? [4879.16] Tony: It's happening tomorrow [4881.72] Tony: Right flight night fright night [4885.67] Tony: I don't know if we're gonna [4892.31] Tony: There's an uploaded thing but it's gonna happen tomorrow [4897.51] Tony: So you want to see me cry? [4900.87] Tony: Like a girl [4902.79] Jack: Yeah, it's like camera type [4905.27] Jack: Out of that quad because you're gonna need that to be able to wander around because you're not allowed at all [4912.31] Jack: Mate i'm gonna call i'm gonna call it there. Yeah [4915.75] NJ: Also, i'm just gonna put a link in the description [4918.31] NJ: Um for any of you that aren't already subbed to curry kitten versus channel go on go along and give him a sub [4926.07] NJ: And look forward to seeing some uh, some exciting projects and and bits and pieces soon [4932.71] NJ: Yeah, and i may even finish that glider event. Sorry, don't forget [4935.51] Jack: Thank you curry kitten. Thank you so much. I hope being on let drone out wasn't too traumatizing and that you had fun [4942.71] Curry: I did indeed i'll get over it, you know [4944.71] Tony: It was about fun. It's always about fun [4947.43] Tony: We we do have to have some comic in there as well because it's not just trains. We have other people listening in so [4954.71] Tony: We try to make it a bit different [4957.11] NJ: That's cool. Cheers guys [4959.11] Jack: Pleasure. Great. That'd be on [4963.08] Jack: tony [4964.12] Jack: What was the dot it turned out to be a [4967.32] Jack: tony [4968.84] Tony: tony you lost [4971.0] Jack: Tony saw a dot out the window [4973.96] Tony: It's okay. Just get it. It was a balloon [4978.12] Tony: I think someone was 60 [4981.24] Jack: Curry kitten, please send help [4984.2] Tony: I can't believe when people are interested though. Keeps coming back [4989.4] Tony: It was real. It was a real thing [4991.8] Jack: It was a 60th birthday, right? So yeah, so look forward to tony crying like a bitch [4999.0] Jack: And don't forget this [5000.6] Jack: See cards [5002.36] Jack: cool [5003.72] Jack: I'll catch you later guys. Thank you and good night. Thank you for tuning in to let drone out [5010.04] Tony: Please telemetry last [5022.58] UNKNOWN: You
