[0.69] Thomas: Let's drone out
[2.93] Jack: Hello, and welcome to let's run out tonight. We are joined by Frank
[13.28] Tony: iris
[15.28] Jack: Frank always yay, and he will be playing back a
[20.16] Jack: video from
[22.0] Tony: Mal from June crusaders because what I because yeah, they couldn't come on this evening unfortunately because they had
[30.56] Tony: Work that they had to do this evening
[32.88] Tony: Which that came up at the last minute so they were hoping to come on and talk about it themselves and be part of the chat
[38.2] Tony: Unfortunately, no could do the last minute
[41.12] Tony: So I had to record a phone conversation and edit that over the past hour to get it ready
[47.52] Andy: So I could play it. It's all gone crazy. Oh
[50.52] Jack: Yeah, I'd just like to point out that someone did something
[54.96] Jack: I don't think
[56.32] Jack: Midweek for the show like I just extra cook activities. So Andrew you get a gold star
[64.72] Tony: hooray
[66.0] Jack: God stuff
[67.2] Jack: Uh, we're joined by Andy. I'll see our Jay replacement
[71.12] Jack: Uh there later on we'll be a straw poll to see whether you prefer him or we can get Jay back
[76.16] Jack: Uh, we're also joined by Daniel, but you'll never see him
[80.24] Jack: Because he's running let's grown out. That's why there's two let's turn out
[83.84] Jack: Uh njo. Hello
[86.16] Jack: Uh, he was recently this week reviewing the TBS crossfire. So we can't wait to hear all about that
[94.08] Jack: And his lovely transmitter
[96.24] Jack: indeedy
[97.6] Jack: Uh the horse like person who's chewing like a horse
[101.92] Jack: and you know
[104.8] Jack: We were desperate for guests and uh
[107.6] Jack: Someone someone like left the gate open and and he wandered in
[112.64] Jack: Uh, just as he eats more so he can't actually say hello. Carlito
[123.28] NJ: Thanks, how are you I understand every word of that
[126.4] Jack: Who let him on and um, good news bad news, uh, tony's here
[132.72] Mel Pengelly: Tony
[133.68] Jack: The good news of the bad news the good news was tony was in hospital bad news not for him
[139.6] Jack: It was his dad
[141.44] Tony: Yep, hopefully he's gonna make a full recovery a broken fema
[145.92] Tony: Not really good waiting for an ambulance for two hours
[151.2] Jack: Yeah, not good i'm gonna start with a bone crusher from now on you know, like the guy from bottom
[158.56] Jack: Because you've broken your dog's legs and you're old man
[163.44] Jack: like so
[164.64] Jack: I don't know what's with you mate, but you
[167.2] Tony: Did it did I?
[169.44] Jack: Like i'm scared to be around you this is why i don't hang out with you anymore
[174.64] Tony: I drove from um
[177.04] Tony: Crawley to edenbridge in under 15 minutes
[180.8] Jack: Don't grow that
[182.56] Jack: It's recorded you're accountable. Tony i'm gonna have to sit you down
[186.4] Jack: Stop giving medical and private details and not incriminating evidence. Oh my god
[193.76] Jack: Oh, no, you didn't you may have you drank that. Isn't that right tony?
[199.2] Jack: I might have dreamt it or yeah, you may have yeah totally you're driving while you're driving
[205.92] Jack: No, i would possibly
[208.56] Jack: Drive to edenbridge in 15 minutes even safe and careful manner. What if they've got a really fast car though?
[216.48] Jack: Uh, tony doesn't tony only owns a van then yeah, he definitely doesn't like honders
[223.28] Jack: All unicorns, but probably the the drinking help
[227.36] Jack: You can't
[230.88] Jack: This is why I didn't want carly o on it just gets worse
[235.04] Tony: like anyway, um
[237.04] Tony: I want to say I love you dad to see you soon get well soon
[240.64] Jack: And um, I I still hate you for making tony
[246.4] Jack: I don't think wine would come out of his nose, but
[251.36] Tony: And we've got to say thank you to andy i'll see you um promoted our channel as well, you know
[256.8] Jack: Yeah, I know i was reading all the lovely comments
[260.4] Jack: Great. Yeah, well i'm promoting the channel to you bastards
[265.68] Tony: There's a fight in the chat
[268.88] Tony: Have you come from the andy rc channel or have you come from the carlita shade?
[273.6] Tony: Well at least at least two views
[275.92] Tony: Post in the chat, you know
[277.6] Tony: Well, thank you both. I didn't realize carlito that you promoted us to
[281.76] Tony: Thank you very much
[283.28] Jack: Yeah, you finished being casey nice that were your camera and your board. I just I just like share the post
[290.16] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: I don't know if that's promoting but yeah, uh, no casey nice that no, I still have my board. Actually. It's charging right now
[296.08] Andy: Because I usually post carlita's you can share a community post
[300.88] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: Yeah, yeah, yeah, I try to post I don't like that's promoting or whatever. Yeah, it is promoting
[305.2] Andy: I can't do that. I was trying to figure out how to do that, but I think yeah, i've got a certain account to do it
[310.8] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: Now there's a little button that says share
[314.08] Tony: Oh, I see. Let's give a shout out to our listeners. Shall we quickly there's zero as ever
[319.28] Tony: Adam
[320.96] Tony: mr
[322.24] Tony: mikey
[323.76] Tony: Uh homegrown drone davey boy
[327.2] Tony: Who else we got in the chat? John the hollers
[331.68] Tony: I'm just flicking fast through these
[335.68] Tony: Letting know thanks for joining us
[339.12] Tony: I like giving a shout out to our regular sort of davey boy and the guys
[343.36] Jack: Zero pv. I've got a hammer in case tony comes at me at all times. I like my legs
[350.64] Tony: um
[356.11] Tony: I can't imagine that
[358.51] Tony: Anyone if they've been on the uk fpv team, which assuming that they're watching this they probably are
[364.75] Tony: um
[366.11] Tony: But they don't know carlos
[368.51] Tony: Just because I can't think of it of a an event
[372.75] Jack: Where you haven't been there. Yeah, especially with this pervert army wagon for looking up girl skirts
[381.07] Jack: Oh, yeah
[385.39] Andy: Do we need a bit of context there because you might need some context that's it's exactly what it sounds like
[392.11] Jack: Yeah, I don't know what more you can do is exactly as it's written on there
[397.23] Jack: I'm moving on there. I dare you to put the number of waiters pervert wagon. I dare you because that was
[404.83] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: It's amazing basically, uh, uh candy it's like a little um
[410.19] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: One by ten, uh little truck that I have like a crawler
[414.43] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: and I set like a uh, not a gimbal like a 3d type of gimbal on top that um
[421.23] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: I can basically move all the way around so i'm driving
[424.67] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: And on top mounted on the uh, there's a little uh soldier guy
[429.07] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: On the driver's seat and his head is basically like a 3d gimbal
[434.51] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: in 3d
[435.95] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: but the actual the actual um
[438.43] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: fpv camera is in 3d so you get to go around and and explore stuff in 3ds, it's super amazing like a stalky google
[446.51] Andy: street view but live
[448.59] Andy: Yeah, yeah, but live the the people's faces aren't blurred out. You can see them. Yeah. Yeah, but it's it's amazing
[455.23] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: like I use this on um
[456.83] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: Was a summer spawn where uh jack tormented me have to have the time but uh, always and I got you
[464.03] Jack: Um, what do you call it as well? Uh
[467.23] Jack: Uh, where did we go andy? I'll see western park. Yeah that place western park. Yeah, don't get out
[473.95] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: Um
[475.31] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: Yeah, it's super nice though. Like you can see everything in 3d
[478.59] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: So when you have like a little dog coming at you
[481.31] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: You can you can see the definition of this is while you're driving. You can see it
[485.95] Andy: Yeah, while we're driving. So it's fpv
[488.03] Jack: But if you've got the pervert wagon, can you just go and grab it? Wait, no, it's uh, it's upstairs
[493.31] Andy: Oh, right. Okay. So i'm I was I was sat here thinking this is a
[498.43] Andy: a real wagon
[501.39] Andy: I
[505.15] Andy: Think this guy's driving his car with fpv
[514.03] Tony: Oh my god, yeah, so that was quite
[517.55] Tony: That's been quite hard to do that. Oh, yeah i've done it once. Um
[522.59] Tony: not like that, but I was
[525.23] Tony: Going down him path and I was in the seat with bradders and someone was driving a van and we were flying while he was driving
[533.31] Tony: And it was oh my god when I got out. I just wanted to chuck up. Yeah motion sickness. Yeah
[539.31] Jack: Have you ever seen um tony you won't appreciate this but like back in the 60s
[544.27] Jack: They did experiments with cats on lsd and I can only describe as you coming out of that van
[550.83] Jack: You look like that
[552.59] Tony: It was horrible. It was
[554.99] Jack: Hang on. I might I might load that video up. Hang on
[559.31] Jack: I know
[560.35] Jack: I don't agree with it. It's animal cruelty, but
[563.87] Tony: You load the video of me nearly throwing up out of the van
[569.79] Andy: Yeah, that'd have been better
[571.87] NJ: I didn't think of getting the camera out like really
[575.47] NJ: Was it I think I thought it was um, I thought it was spiders
[579.23] NJ: Wasn't there a spider test as well? The spiders all did really interesting like the one
[583.87] NJ: Yeah, and they did a really crazy web shape and the one on cannabis just got sat there and did nothing
[589.47] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: Of course not paste. There you go. That's that's like, uh, that's a spoof like, uh spiders on
[596.43] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: alcohol and cocaine
[600.83] Andy: I think you should lecture everyone now because of all this animal cruelty that's going on
[606.11] Jack: There in fpv it's it's that oh my god
[610.35] Jack: That's the room is tony, right?
[612.43] Jack: He doesn't know where the floor begins or ends or
[616.67] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: It's just a winter. That's that's a cat in a winter moment
[619.55] Tony: That's
[620.43] Tony: And so that's just that's just horrible. Yeah with more vomit
[624.67] Tony: I didn't do it. I didn't know
[627.79] Tony: The morning you'd take it off immediately
[629.95] Jack: This office is horrible
[632.91] Tony: Let me let me try to make you like horrible people
[636.83] Tony: so, uh to all the new listeners that
[648.91] Andy: We do talk about drones at some point don't we rather than
[652.83] Jack: Ask enjoy he's really good at that
[656.43] NJ: Well when you're ready we can we can talk a little bit about crossfire stuff definitely
[661.63] NJ: No, go for it now. You want to do that now? Okay. So well what I did I didn't
[668.03] NJ: I'm in i'm in the process of of doing a review on the crossfire because
[671.71] NJ: It's an interesting one
[672.67] NJ: I've had to pull information from several sources to get
[676.43] NJ: A kind of one place where all the information is is good and correct because there's some great information out there
[682.03] NJ: And there's some very misleading information out there and I actually had a kind of a bit of a chat today
[688.03] NJ: With trappy which was great to actually get a little bit of a conversation going about
[693.15] NJ: Dipole antennas, which sounds super boring, but stick with me. It is quite interesting. Uh more importantly about
[700.91] NJ: this guy so
[702.91] NJ: If you can see here
[704.67] NJ: This is the immortal antenna. You see that mounted there?
[709.63] NJ: This is a dipole antenna in a standard dipole configuration
[714.13] NJ: Now when this is in polarization with your transmitter
[718.45] NJ: so if your transmitter is flat across and you fly your drone out and
[723.57] NJ: This is also in the same polarization. So flat across the two of them both parallel to each other
[729.09] NJ: You get absolutely incredible range. I mean with with this system with the TBS system
[733.33] NJ: Anyway, this crossfire the range is just phenomenal anyway, so don't think of it in terms of
[738.85] NJ: uh, even comparable to
[740.93] NJ: FR sky range on standard 2.4. It's not we're down at you know
[745.65] NJ: eight
[746.61] NJ: six eight
[747.81] NJ: Hertz here, I think so we're much lower range our wave length
[752.61] NJ: And if those are in polarization
[755.01] NJ: The range is is is colossal the problem comes and this is kind of a well-known thing
[759.65] NJ: Anyway is when you go sideways like this and the antenna is pointing straight at the transmission source
[765.73] NJ: And at that point when it's pointing you've got that real kind of uh dropping gain
[772.29] NJ: Now what's interesting is for the bit that I found interesting anyway is that with a dipole antenna
[777.09] NJ: We're not talking about two monopoles in diversity. We're talking about a single dipole. You can actually
[784.05] NJ: Put this at 90 degrees. You can put one of the nodes at 90 degrees to the other
[789.65] NJ: Now what that will do will actually reduce the range compared to being in polarization
[795.49] NJ: So flat this way and transmit a flat that way
[799.49] NJ: um, what that will actually do is reduce the range from there, but it won't be as bad as
[804.53] NJ: The range with this pointing straight at it
[807.41] NJ: So despite everyone thinking these are fantastic, which they are if they're in polarization
[813.09] NJ: On a quadcopter. It's actually better to get a standard
[816.53] NJ: dipole antenna
[818.69] NJ: And bend it into a into a v shape
[821.57] NJ: And then maybe have one going up out the back and then one coming uh straight out the back flat
[826.45] NJ: So that was an interesting conversation because that changed my opinion or certainly my understanding of of how a dipole can work
[833.17] NJ: I didn't realize a dipole could actually work in v configuration
[837.89] NJ: So that was interesting. But yeah, if you're on a quadcopter with crossfire
[843.25] NJ: um, I would
[845.01] NJ: Not necessarily recommend using the immortal antenna and we actually had a bit of a joke about I said well, can you release?
[851.97] NJ: a
[852.45] NJ: An immortal l antenna like this to which she replied do you mean an immortal?
[858.85] NJ: um, so
[860.21] NJ: I think there's every chance that you might release a new antenna more more focused on quadcopters
[866.21] NJ: But yeah, there's my tbs story. So um, so far the range has been incredible really really good system
[873.01] NJ: And even with it set up like that on the immortal antenna a long way out
[877.49] NJ: Reception was just phenomenal up in the 90s even when I was you know, two kilometers plus out
[883.33] NJ: So it's very consistent how loss you've been flying crossfire for quite a while, haven't you? Yep
[892.37] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: Yeah, so I changed to crossfire specifically for racing
[896.21] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: Uh, I noticed that with my fr sky when I was racing. I don't know
[900.85] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: So if I would race in
[905.73] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: Like a regular condition just for training with my mates in the out in the
[911.89] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: in our racing field
[914.05] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: Everything will be fine as soon as I would get to a race
[917.09] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: I would notice that the quad was like a you know shimming sometimes as it felt like the signal was going out
[923.89] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: And I think this might be because
[926.05] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: number one I use
[928.69] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: Uh, let me actually get a quads and i'll show you
[932.21] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: My antennas in all my quads so I don't smash them are all in the arms
[939.01] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: Yeah
[941.41] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: But that obviously causes the signal propagation to be less because it's like tied to the carbon frame
[949.09] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: It's separated. Obviously, it's not touching the carbon pipe, but it's separated
[953.89] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: But it's still it's too close for the signal propagation to be
[960.77] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: And I think that plus the saturation of fr sky
[966.53] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: On races causes some glitches on the races
[970.77] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: I don't know if I was the only one noticing this but as soon as I transited
[976.05] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: to crossfire
[978.13] NJ: Gone smooth smooth sailing. I was actually chatting to uh, uh, paul bitmata about this
[985.01] NJ: Um, sometimes he's on here. I don't know if you might make an appearance at some point tonight
[989.17] NJ: But um, he was saying that they uh him because obviously thomas was out
[993.33] NJ: Has been doing all these races out in australia and and just obviously doing phenomenally well
[998.77] NJ: um, but they've just switched to crossfire because they were having problems and uh, not only is he reported that
[1006.13] NJ: Immediately all the problems were gone and they've had a bulletproof signal, but also
[1010.13] NJ: That he's really noticed the latency improvement. Um, which i've got to say I have as well
[1016.45] NJ: Um that it does does feel feel that little bit sharper a little bit more responsive. So
[1021.73] NJ: It's all positives. I just I just wish the receivers were a little cheaper, but I hear they're coming down
[1028.21] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: There's one negative though. I don't know if you noticed if you've been with it long enough, but the crossfire depending on how many
[1034.53] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: milli millihertz
[1037.81] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: Milliwatts milliwatts. Yes, how many milliwatts is outputting will severely drain your
[1044.61] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: transmitter
[1045.73] Tony: What the battery you mean? Yeah
[1049.17] NJ: I'd honestly suggest people run at 25 milliwatts because I mean even at 25 milliwatts in clean line of sight you're still talking like
[1057.25] NJ: 15 kilometers of range. So
[1059.81] NJ: I I don't think even with obstacles 25 plenty for that reason. That's a great reason to stay on the lower
[1067.09] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: it depends on how you mount your antenna and how you um
[1070.29] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: And how and where you fly because if I had it at 25 milliwatts and I noticed like in my in my flying field
[1077.97] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: There's a lot of grounds that I can use for training. So I I sit
[1082.69] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: In in front of a forest basically that has like a huge path like
[1087.73] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: 50 meters behind trees
[1090.37] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: So I can I I try to use the crossfire
[1093.97] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: With the antennas in the arms as I use with all my quads and with 25 milliwatts
[1098.29] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: like if I was going behind the
[1102.29] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: um
[1103.65] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: All those trees the signal would cut out
[1107.09] NJ: Interesting. Well, I think I I mean personally, I think some of that is definitely going to be down to the reflection from the carbon
[1113.57] NJ: Um, so i'd definitely try and get the antennas out in clean air
[1117.33] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: Yeah, but I just up the milliwatts like to 100
[1121.33] NJ: And yeah muscle through the situation
[1124.85] Jack: Yeah
[1125.97] Jack: That's jeremy clarkson, isn't it power?
[1130.05] Tony: So, um, do you have to set the uh rssi
[1134.93] Tony: via the lewis grip
[1137.73] NJ: Um what you do if you want rssi in the osd is you set the uh, you set channel 12 to lq which is link quality
[1146.29] NJ: Um not actually to rssi and then that will will give you an input back on channel 12
[1151.97] NJ: Which you can configure in base flight and say it's coming down channel 12 and then you'll get that in euro
[1157.01] NJ: in
[1159.09] Tony: Can you do that with if you haven't got a um a flight controller because i've got crossfire on my wing
[1165.33] Tony: And I want it to shout out through my tyrannis
[1168.93] Tony: every 30 seconds the rssi or the link quality
[1174.37] NJ: Uh, I don't think why not i'm what I would do is set it to you know
[1178.13] NJ: The momentary switch on the tyrannis in the top right hand corner
[1182.29] NJ: I think that's what steel does actually. Yeah, just
[1186.45] NJ: It'll give you a readout yeah i'll um
[1189.49] NJ: Yeah, I can I can work out how to do that for you tony and i'll give you the logical switch. Um inputs for that
[1195.17] Jack: Isn't it just play value?
[1198.61] Tony: Because i've got one working play value rssi, but I think it
[1203.73] NJ: Wrong. I think I need to I think that the problem is now is because of this micro bundle with the module
[1209.73] NJ: Being kind of in this territory where it's now quite affordable and such a great system
[1214.53] NJ: And this is now going to I think this is starting to boom and more people are going to switch over to it
[1219.89] NJ: I think um
[1222.61] NJ: I think you're going to have this problem where people are just uh
[1227.01] NJ: They're now suddenly demanding from all the flight controlled software developers features that that are they're all kind of racing to get these features sorted out
[1235.09] NJ: I mean base flights right on top of it that accepts that
[1238.45] NJ: Accepts the crossfire protocol. No problem at all
[1240.93] NJ: Race from race flight or a little behind i've i've not put it on a race flight build yet because that in the latest beta
[1247.25] NJ: You can uh, not the one on the page, but there's actually a beta group called quote
[1252.05] NJ: You can it will now understand crossfire
[1255.49] NJ: Protocol, but what it won't do is work with the telemetry for crossfire
[1259.65] NJ: And at the minute the problem i see in base flight actually is that if you've got the telemetry working
[1264.53] NJ: That when you have lq so for the rss size of the osd
[1268.37] NJ: One of the issues that you have is that it's not
[1271.41] NJ: For me, it's not scaling correctly. Um, so it's scaling between like if you turn the transmitter offline quality goes down to 30%
[1279.09] NJ: And then I thought well that can't be the noise floor
[1281.01] NJ: It's got to be lower than that. Um, and then i've been told since apparently if you don't have telemetry running
[1286.77] NJ: That will then scale properly across the whole 100
[1290.13] NJ: So I think there's some bugs and bits to work out
[1291.97] NJ: But I think developers developers are getting more active in sorting this stuff out because people are moving over to we've got david in the chat
[1300.29] Andy: Rocket man
[1303.25] Andy: Sorry to interrupt
[1305.89] Andy: That's a news flash
[1308.93] Tony: Man he's actually jim jon king or whatever his bloody name from north korea
[1314.87] Tony: It's rocket. Yes. Yes
[1318.71] Tony: Rocket man David, uh rocket man
[1324.55] Andy: Golly to us colleagues can i ask this?
[1327.83] Andy: The tbs crossfire has everyone pretty much because you go to the races quite a lot. Yeah, has everyone
[1334.23] Andy: Moved over to it. No, no
[1336.23] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: No
[1337.59] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: Everyone's running. Yeah fr sky
[1341.19] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: and
[1343.19] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: Sorry, what's the regular?
[1345.51] Andy: Right. So they have a lot of problems with dropouts and stuff then I guess like I haven't seen people with dropouts
[1351.11] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: But I don't know they may maybe just carry through or maybe they put the I guess that I was having the dropouts
[1357.19] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: Just because how I put my antennas because I don't want first I just
[1361.27] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: Take all my quads shove it in the backpack
[1363.51] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: So I don't like things sticking out. All my antennas are like strategically
[1368.53] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: Position so I can smash it into the ground or just shove it into the backpack
[1373.19] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: And nothing's gonna happen and people most of the time have have stuff like this like the antenna on top
[1378.55] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: So that's that's not gonna fit. Yeah
[1381.43] Andy: In a bag. Did you go to the castle event at the weekend?
[1386.15] Andy: Yeah, I told you about it
[1388.63] Andy: Yeah, you said no one here
[1390.63] Andy: Keep talking
[1393.51] Andy: Yeah, I know I didn't hear I didn't hear that bit
[1395.99] Tony: I didn't need to tell us about it carlos because we're live now and when we were chatting before it wasn't live
[1401.91] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: Yeah
[1404.55] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: Tell us go jack doesn't want to jack once once no
[1409.67] Jack: I was pretending like i've never heard
[1413.11] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: Oh the castle what is that?
[1420.63] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: Please tell me more what is the castle? Yeah
[1426.47] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: Was that was built by people back in the day
[1431.03] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: Uh, and then they used it to store stuff. I don't really know
[1434.55] Jack: anyways
[1437.19] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: They have the what now currently
[1442.79] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: They store those probably they store those in the back and it didn't really, you know cover that in the briefing
[1447.91] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: but anyways
[1449.19] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: the castle, uh events
[1452.47] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: As you uh, so mildly put it it's actually called the crusader crusader, uh something something
[1459.67] Andy: Brazilian's event drone crusaders, I believe I wasn't there
[1465.11] Tony: Wasn't there and he knows what he'll know more about it
[1468.95] Tony: I mean
[1474.39] Jack: I don't know what's going on. Right, you know burn everything. That's it. I've had enough
[1480.39] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: right
[1483.35] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: The event
[1485.43] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: it was it was
[1487.19] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: Really well done. We had an absolute. Uh, we were we were very very lucky because the weather was absolutely
[1494.15] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: Perfect ish most of the times when I say perfect. I mean
[1498.55] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: There was sun during one day and then the other day it didn't rain
[1502.95] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: That much like rain for 15 minutes or something. No considering you're in wales
[1508.23] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: I think that that qualifies as perfect weather it does
[1511.83] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: That did you enjoy any shape?
[1514.23] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: No, uh, no sadly sadly the ship were all taken by the locals
[1522.31] Andy: You missed out there I thought it was in liverpool not wales
[1526.23] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: Maybe i'm wrong. It's not easy class. No, it was uh, it was it was like a stone's throw away from snow then
[1533.03] Andy: Oh really? Okay. Yeah
[1535.27] Andy: Yeah, well it looked great from the videos. I saw I saw a video of was it you with a wing dive in it
[1541.11] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: That looked pretty impressive. That's not a wing. Actually. It's a mini mini talon. All right
[1546.39] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: And that was the maiden of the mini talon
[1551.98] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: Yeah, um, I mean race wise so uh, they set a couple of gates in the um in in windows and the
[1561.02] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: Uh, you know the balustes of the of the castle
[1564.14] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: Um, and you had to fly through those gates
[1568.06] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: Yeah, it had to fly through those gates then avoid
[1571.26] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: Smashing into the concrete
[1573.98] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: Which proved hard for some people so a couple of people
[1579.03] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: Broke their quads to bits
[1581.03] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: Um, and there were even some uh, some
[1584.15] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: Parts of the course that if your drone would fall
[1587.35] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: Into um into a hole you wouldn't get it back
[1591.03] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: Uh, but luckily no one no one lost their uh, no one lost it
[1593.91] Jack: I thought richard wheeland and a couple of the other guys got stuck a bit now to call
[1599.35] Jack: someone out
[1600.87] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: Yeah, yeah, so, uh, we were lucky because we just like smashed into
[1607.03] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: I think a couple of windows. There was a closed off area, but it was
[1612.31] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: Easy ish to get the drone out. But yeah, it was amazing. It was um,
[1617.67] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: Everyone did did did great a lot of people didn't turn up
[1621.25] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: Unfortunately, but quite annoying I guess because of the weather
[1626.47] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: Uh, and and and it's also like four and a half hours away from london
[1632.31] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: Yeah, this is far didn't help
[1634.79] Andy: Were there any uh big name people there like races that we might know of and stuff? Yeah, carlito was there
[1644.71] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: No, actually no, uh, it was the same I had I have to admit I I was kind of like, uh
[1651.27] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: uh
[1652.63] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: Goating myself into oh, this is gonna be easy. I'm gonna take the win
[1656.47] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: and then I uh
[1657.91] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: f'd up
[1659.43] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: And I didn't go through the semifinals
[1662.15] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: It was gutted gutted. It was there was two guys. They were they were
[1666.39] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: Very very fast. Well a couple of guys like four
[1669.59] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: Ish guys that were they were quite fast and uh, I was in between those those four and the uh, the fastest guy
[1676.63] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: Which was a guy that came from germany
[1679.27] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: For the event. I don't know if it came on purpose or it was just on the on the immediate area
[1684.39] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: And he managed to make it to the event but him and myself
[1688.47] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: we
[1689.59] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: smashed our quads into uh into the castle on the
[1693.41] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: semifinals which was uh
[1695.35] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: Not good. Yeah, the castle
[1698.79] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: unlucky
[1699.99] Andy: Was there a prize for winning or anything or is it just like a friend?
[1704.07] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: No, no, no, there was a there was a couple of prizes like a little trophy
[1708.07] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: in the shape of a castle
[1711.99] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: For the first the second and the third oh and more uh, I forgot a couple of things as well
[1716.31] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: Like during the race during some segments of the race. They actually put remote controls
[1721.99] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: um
[1723.11] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: detonating smoke bombs
[1727.11] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: All of a sudden like smoke blue smoke bombs would burst out and then on the finals what they did
[1732.79] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: Is that on the final gates? Uh, I think it was the final gate. They put a couple of like, um, you know
[1738.29] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: sprinklers
[1739.59] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: fire sprinklers
[1741.59] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: Uh, so as you're completing the laps it was like
[1744.95] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: Wow, it was it was cool. It didn't really matter the the sun was the the thing that was taking out most pilots
[1751.83] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: Because at some points during the course the sun was low on top of the trees
[1755.51] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: Yeah
[1755.83] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: And you were going through a segment of the course
[1757.99] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: And you literally couldn't see and you had to go through like a tiny little window
[1762.15] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: About the size of my screen and you literally couldn't see
[1765.75] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: where you were going so it was like
[1767.99] Tony: Shut your eyes time. Yeah
[1771.11] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: I think
[1773.11] Andy: I think I saw I saw a video of a quad with a smoke thing on it. I think yeah
[1779.11] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: I have I have tons of video to release. I just don't have time to edit but
[1783.67] Tony: We did like uh anyone who who's a bit confused. Yes. Carlos is in the shirt because usually it's like
[1791.75] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: Is
[1797.03] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: I took my cape as well. Yeah, I took my crusader cape to the event because obviously I wanted to you know
[1803.83] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: match the
[1805.59] Andy: Make an impression. Yeah
[1811.51] Jack: The nationals because it's october
[1815.51] Jack: Yeah, like crazy jumpsuit nationals hot over halloween
[1821.43] Jack: I'll I'll think about it
[1824.79] Tony: Are you going to the british championships because I think you're you're an invite aren't you?
[1830.15] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: Me to the web. Yeah
[1832.71] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: You you you to the british championships. Oh, yeah, I think so. Yes. I'm not on on
[1839.83] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: Borderline six or something, but it was uh, it was I was a bit upset with this
[1846.15] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: Results because they're people that
[1850.15] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: Uh may not race as fast as me, but they're more consistent in the values that they have during the races
[1858.87] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: And they get pumped off. I I just did one race
[1862.63] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: And I ended up in 12th place on the qualifiers
[1865.99] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: And I get to race at the british
[1869.43] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: Nationals and and these people don't I don't know what how kind of
[1874.45] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: Algorithms they use to qualify people but uh, it's a bit of a fun
[1879.59] Tony: Before we get too far off of the drone crusaders event
[1883.51] Tony: I'm just going to take a couple of minutes to play because we were hoping to have uh, someone from the drone crusaders on
[1889.43] Tony: And talk all about it. They couldn't make it. So we've got pre-recorded little
[1894.63] Tony: Little bit and i'll try and get that play in just a second
[1902.39] Mel Pengelly: My name is mela pengelly. I'm the owner of drone crusaders. Um, and the weekend just passed
[1908.07] Mel Pengelly: Uh, we launched drone crusaders at grudge castle in north wales
[1911.91] Mel Pengelly: Uh, which was an amazing success on my team. I've got temmes pep thomas paren, uh of 1080 aerial
[1918.31] Mel Pengelly: Um, i've got john hall
[1920.87] Mel Pengelly: currently at dsk
[1922.55] Mel Pengelly: Um, and then we've got simon parker, uh currently, um a corporal in the army
[1928.31] Mel Pengelly: Who's coming out to head our uh public safety and experience?
[1932.55] Mel Pengelly: Um, and then we've got tommy donley from rssr who's our technical director
[1937.83] Mel Pengelly: And without those guys constantly testing and getting together over the last nine weeks
[1942.71] Mel Pengelly: Um the event wouldn't have been the success that it was we had a massive turnout by the public
[1948.71] Mel Pengelly: And one thing that was picked up very quickly was we weren't sort of catering for them
[1953.83] Mel Pengelly: So what we've done and literally today, um, I have purchased the 20 meter by 16 meter marquee
[1960.63] Mel Pengelly: And what we're going to be doing is we're going to be having screens on the inside and the outside of the marquee
[1966.31] Mel Pengelly: We're back at gridditch on april the 14th and 15th
[1970.69] Mel Pengelly: 2018 we have got a few surprises for the course. It's going to be a little bit different drop as a message
[1975.51] Mel Pengelly: It's first come first serve guys. So yeah next year initially we'll start off
[1980.15] Mel Pengelly: Um with six castles being within the drone crusaders league. We're now looking at
[1985.11] Mel Pengelly: Um a castle around the car this area without giving too much away
[1989.91] Mel Pengelly: Uh, we're looking at new castle one in the midlands and one in suspect at every venue we go to
[1995.75] Mel Pengelly: Um, we are going to be launching a drone crusaders club
[1999.27] Mel Pengelly: Um, which ties in velocir drones. So we're going to be teaching people how to fly
[2004.39] Mel Pengelly: So it's not just the people who can already race
[2007.43] Mel Pengelly: Um, there'll be pilots teaching
[2010.31] Mel Pengelly: Um, there'll be pilots teaching beginners how to build drones
[2014.23] Mel Pengelly: Um up and to people up and coming like our sponsored pilot kelsey fpv
[2019.59] Mel Pengelly: Um where you know, hopefully then we can see them on the circuit in the future
[2023.75] Mel Pengelly: True wherever a drone crusaders group
[2026.63] Mel Pengelly: Uh pops up 10 of our profits will always go to the venues with regards to restoration
[2031.99] Mel Pengelly: We've actually got some sponsors in italy
[2034.63] Mel Pengelly: We were looking at launching drone crusaders over there and literally this evening had a phone call from the us
[2041.19] Mel Pengelly: Um with a bunch of guys over there looking to take drone crusaders into the us
[2046.23] Mel Pengelly: The information is on the website at uh, www.drone crusaders.co.uk
[2051.69] Mel Pengelly: Well, you got you you you guys must join us in april. Cheers. Bye. Bye
[2057.1] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: Awesome. Cool. That was one of the things I forgot to say the
[2061.5] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: It was amazing. I think more people turned up for this event from the public
[2067.26] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: than
[2068.22] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: any of the races that
[2069.82] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: i've seen
[2071.5] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: Throughout the year
[2072.78] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: Uh, yeah, it was it was crazy because people went there like oh this i'm not talking about teenagers
[2078.3] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: I'm talking like old people a little uh, um
[2081.9] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: Walking sticks and stuff and they were sitting around in a courtyard where they could see
[2087.34] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: A small fraction of the course and they were loving it
[2091.42] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: So whenever I I had the chance to go out, I would just take my goggles and like show the people that were like
[2096.62] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: Oh my god, you're looking through the goggles. Oh, this is amazing. It's like flying
[2100.62] Tony: So people really enjoy this. That's good. That's really good
[2104.7] Tony: Good
[2106.62] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: And another thing yeah, I have to refer this I was really surprised so, uh as mel mentioned
[2113.98] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: Uh, there was a 14 year old girl
[2116.94] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: called
[2117.98] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: Kelsey Kelsey, yeah, uh racing and I mean from the videos that I did a segment on women and fpv
[2125.74] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: Uh hot topic not too long ago. Yeah, exactly hot topic. I'm not doing
[2133.1] Andy: Where I shot
[2136.46] Jack: Don't you have like, um, you know like a manager that does that or something
[2144.54] Jack: Where's your glasses
[2146.38] Andy: Oh, they I they brought I broke them. I brought I need to order some oh, right. Sorry. Hang on. Let's go
[2152.7] Jack: I ignore me for the next 20 minutes. I'm going to start
[2155.66] Jack: a uh, a go fund thing
[2158.06] Jack: Go fund me
[2160.3] Jack: Fund me news news new glasses
[2163.1] NJ: Anyways, I should point out just quickly that um
[2166.06] NJ: Because obviously when people watch this video back, they won't pick up what's been going on in the chat
[2170.06] NJ: but david windowsill has expressed his excitement over uh, the start of rocket punch
[2176.14] NJ: And uh, he's open to the chat what people would like what suggestions people have for what to punch
[2182.86] Tony: David can I do the rocket punch?
[2187.1] Tony: Bit please think you just did
[2189.5] Jack: Take that
[2192.06] Tony: Give a timestamp coconut timestamp is I don't know. What is the time stamp? Where can I do it? See? I can't see any time
[2200.7] NJ: Little more information about the fist what what what where is he going to acquire a fist and how big is the fist going to be?
[2208.54] NJ: These are all important questions for rocket punch
[2213.82] Tony: David david get a microphone
[2217.02] NJ: Turn yeah, it's difficult to get the center of gravity right on the fist
[2222.94] Jack: I'm gonna have him on next week if you want
[2225.58] Tony: Let's have david on next week to talk about rocket punch
[2230.06] Jack: So is the rocket knife thing over david?
[2233.98] Jack: to fist
[2238.22] Jack: When did you ever think you were going to write that down never that's the thing with being friends with david like I just
[2245.58] Jack: um
[2247.34] Jack: Yeah, I just andrew needs to jump in
[2252.7] Tony: Or enough I kind of made the fist so
[2258.14] Tony: It's slightly bigger than
[2260.7] Tony: than actual size by it's about
[2264.78] Tony: 15 percent bigger than real life something like that
[2268.22] Tony: It's and it's very solid nylon. We got are they listening in from?
[2275.82] Andy: Australia Australia was that oh just us. Yeah
[2282.92] Jack: Less the top things that people want watermelon. What was the other things?
[2291.32] Jack: No idea. I don't know. Uh, anyway, i've got a topic
[2295.08] Jack: Back to the crossfire. Sorry
[2297.24] Jack: Um tony, I'd just like to point out tony
[2301.56] Jack: Is doing something right because um, did is any of you guys still subscribe to steel?
[2308.28] Jack: Because on his latest video he was like flying around a bit freestyle when you come into land you catch. Um
[2315.4] Jack: Thing a swarm reading from his phone about the guidelines for the crossfire
[2321.16] Jack: um
[2321.96] Jack: about you know, uh
[2324.2] Jack: using a long-range system
[2326.28] Jack: uh on a
[2328.66] Jack: Unreliable model doesn't make it
[2332.04] Jack: You know more reliable or any less chance of fail safe and stuff make sure you
[2337.72] Jack: Had had it to a reliable model that has been flown and and and tested improved itself
[2343.8] Jack: and I just like to say that, you know, tony's doing the right thing with his um
[2348.84] Jack: Setting setting stuff up or tony can switch his camera off and ignore me. Was that a compliment to tony?
[2354.6] Jack: I just I think that's the first thing
[2357.24] Jack: He hung up
[2359.88] Andy: You can't can't handle it. He's fainted. So I can't be hearing what i'm hearing is not coming out of jack
[2365.4] Jack: Yeah, like there you go
[2367.4] Jack: um, yeah, if david doesn't come on i'll do uh tony's mind blowers and uh, it'll be like a clip episode of uh
[2375.96] Jack: tony doing stuff wrong
[2377.72] Andy: Mind blowers. Yeah a rick and morty reference. Yeah
[2382.44] Jack: Hello tony
[2386.08] Andy: He's no. Oh, there. There we go
[2389.36] Jack: What happened?
[2391.12] Tony: Crashed but at least it wasn't it wasn't my whole laptop. What crashed this time?
[2395.76] Tony: It was just hangouts. You missed jack giving you the only compliment that is ever done
[2405.12] Jack: Now I might as well just lick this five s
[2413.76] Tony: What was the compliment I totally didn't hear anything I was watching the
[2418.4] Tony: Uh chat we got some a lot of people in thanks. Um, andy
[2424.48] Andy: Yeah, well you guys you need more exposure because you get great people on here like, you know flight desk guys david, you know
[2432.24] Jack: Carlito yourself
[2438.08] Andy: Can I ask carlito because i'm i'm never sure your youtube name is it seek
[2443.84] Andy: An and fpv or seek nd fpv
[2447.6] Andy: Seek nd seek nd. I wasn't sure if you're trying to say seek and fpv sort of thing. So because the
[2455.2] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: That name has been with me for
[2459.12] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: Years and it's part of the uh, well, it was like a acronym for seek and destroy because when I played quake that was
[2466.4] Andy: Yeah, well, that's what I thought
[2468.24] Andy: Yes, but you say nd. I just wasn't sure because I was trying to
[2472.32] Andy: Promote your channel and I didn't know how to say it properly
[2475.36] Andy: But I got it right luckily. Can I get it was either that or
[2481.76] Jack: Can I get whatever jack said nice about me, please
[2490.88] Jack: If I catch you masturbating to it
[2496.8] Tony: Again
[2501.36] Jack: I
[2503.92] NJ: Might be carlito isn't so bad
[2506.32] NJ: Um, but yes, it was it was related to redundancy
[2509.6] NJ: Uh tony and the fact that well redundancy and you you making an effort to make sure everything's set up correctly
[2515.76] Jack: Um, and then his motor mount fell off
[2518.8] NJ: Yes
[2519.84] NJ: At least you have an option you have opportunities still to fly the thing with the with the motor mount
[2524.16] NJ: Falling off, but yeah, it was a really good point jack
[2526.72] NJ: And i've seen it in a couple of these recent rtf's i've been sent to review the the diatone
[2532.48] NJ: GT2 was was another one big big yellow warning card with lots of good really good points well written about
[2540.56] NJ: Flying responsibly and you know if this is because it's ready to fly you're not entirely sure who's buying this
[2546.4] NJ: You can't always assume it's someone that's been doing this for a while and you know
[2549.28] NJ: This could be the first drone for someone
[2550.88] NJ: so I think manufacturers need to do a bit bit more to just keep that kind of thing coming and
[2556.32] NJ: Yeah, because we don't have redundancy on quadcopters
[2559.12] NJ: You just don't one motor fails at the minute until they I mean there is a way around it
[2563.36] NJ: But they won't program any of that in but if you lose a motor, it's a single point of failure
[2567.76] Tony: You you haven't got the redundancy really. I know and it's amazing that dji
[2573.44] Tony: Use a lot of quadcopters
[2576.32] NJ: There is a way to actually go into a colossal yaw spin and actually sustain the quad
[2581.68] NJ: um and keep it in the air with a motor down but it's then still powered and
[2586.48] NJ: Now spinning very fast towards the ground, but yeah, i've had a hexa cop to fail
[2592.0] Tony: Uh one motor failed on me not only you see it was actually a motor. See that's fine
[2599.92] Tony: Yeah, don't spin around as well I managed to land it safely and it was fine
[2605.2] Tony: yeah, um
[2606.4] Tony: Obviously you've got a bit more than four keeping you in the air, but yeah
[2611.44] Tony: Uh, can I just shout out mikey dread has just been um promoted. Uh, he is now a um
[2619.2] Tony: pilot for um
[2621.18] Tony: Manis. I'll see so well done mikey dread
[2624.96] Tony: Good on you, mate
[2627.84] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: Sorry
[2633.28] Tony: Yeah, we love their antennas so good on you mikey got your sticker on the back of my phone
[2639.2] Jack: Look at that
[2641.2] Jack: And i've got a clean fight one as well
[2644.0] Jack: so only
[2645.44] Jack: Stuff that I like gets on there
[2649.15] Jack: Fair play though. A lot of people get in
[2652.03] Jack: sponsored
[2653.63] Jack: I I I do like yeah, uh people were talking about steel and stuff and whether they like them
[2658.99] Jack: They like him in the chat. He is actually a good guy deep down
[2662.35] Jack: I think the whole him being a dick's a bit of a defense facade
[2666.43] Jack: and I when I spoke to him at the
[2671.31] Jack: UK meetup I did ask him if I could chat to him again
[2676.99] Jack: and uh
[2678.83] Jack: David
[2680.11] Jack: You're a mod now. So it means you can post links and
[2683.15] Jack: Add a straw poll like add a list of people so they can write things to punch
[2688.75] Jack: but yeah, uh, so we will we can talk to still at one point and I have a little bit of
[2694.91] Jack: I'm just waiting for all the uh stills left rote a riot and you know people hate each other and
[2702.19] Jack: I don't know. How are you guys finding rote riot nowadays? Like the I found it really weird about um
[2709.07] Jack: Uh tommy like literally his his he released an episode. That's exactly the same as rote riot
[2714.99] Jack: The drifting like days before so it was almost pointless watching rote riot
[2719.47] NJ: Yeah, I agree. But I thought that that chad chad kind of
[2725.07] NJ: Said that tommy was kind of sort of heading up rote riot a little bit now
[2729.39] NJ: Um, well that was that was the plan. Is that not
[2732.43] Andy: Yeah, he's in charge, isn't he?
[2736.19] Andy: I think they've all got their own successful channels, haven't they? So it's kind of
[2740.59] Andy: When you watch rote riot, it just becomes like a a mix of all their channels put together and sometimes
[2747.23] Andy: um, it can it's like when when you have like
[2751.15] Andy: When you like two bands and they've got the same singer and everyone says oh, it sounds like the other band kind of thing
[2756.83] Andy: It's kind of like that sort of thing with with rote riot, I think
[2760.83] Andy: but I agree
[2763.47] Tony: I agree, but I did like the uh
[2766.83] NJ: Putting the news on in it, you know what I mean? Yeah, there's something that um, sorry something that latino said in the chat
[2772.27] NJ: It's about mathematical algorithms is what keeps you in the air. Nothing to do with spinning. Um
[2778.67] NJ: Yes, it is a mathematical algorithm you're right, but I was pretty sure
[2782.19] NJ: Um with a quadcopter if you lost
[2785.07] NJ: one arm
[2786.51] NJ: Uh to be able to stay in there that would require some spinning to stop the non-trusty. Yeah, you are right
[2793.23] NJ: So it's it's both but yes, I get what that I know what the scene is saying
[2798.03] Jack: The thing is all all flight is a mathematical algorithm because they're like, you know, PIDs and trigonometry and stuff
[2803.47] Jack: but what you're saying is
[2805.79] Jack: Because the reason why our motors are spin different directions on
[2810.43] Jack: That's to a poke differential. Yeah
[2814.03] Jack: Counteract gyroscopic procession. Is that right?
[2817.55] Jack: and then you
[2819.23] Jack: Once you lose that motor then the two motors that spin and then that'll make the body spin the other way
[2826.03] Jack: From those motors spinning and that's what keeps you in the air. So then you become a is it what are they called honey sickle?
[2832.99] Jack: Leave sickle more. Yeah sickle more seeds. That's it. Yeah
[2838.11] Tony: or a tricopter
[2840.83] Jack: No, yeah, I don't know we should get david on because he actually knows what he's talking about
[2846.11] Tony: We'll just be a tricopter bit instead of being able to tilt the tail rotor. It'd be stuck vertically and then yeah, that's gonna spin
[2854.43] Jack: David write something in the chat. So we don't sound like dickheads
[2858.43] Jack: I was saying
[2863.07] Jack: I've got something called here. Why do you keep from scratch?
[2866.99] Jack: Don't you mean beat the fly nj?
[2869.23] Jack: Ah, when did I say race light?
[2871.87] Tony: I've never heard nj ever say base flight
[2875.31] NJ: Earlier on he said base flight. I said race flight
[2879.95] NJ: Way back now. Yeah, have you seen this little guy so i've got to review this at some point but um
[2885.47] NJ: So that is it's it's it looks like a tricopter. It's not it's a quadcopter flirting
[2890.83] NJ: Wait for it. Yeah, I know somebody there you go. Carlos got it in one
[2894.27] NJ: This is a y4 and it is essentially like having the the two motors one motor inverted and then stuck along one axis
[2901.31] NJ: But it's essentially it's quadcopter
[2903.31] Tony: Interesting though. It's not one is it the leg of this one and it's quite fast. There you go
[2908.35] Jack: Just like one of those shit off this channel
[2912.83] NJ: It's cody
[2914.43] NJ: The only way I like things are a little different like that
[2918.67] NJ: What is it like for tuning
[2920.99] NJ: Uh, i'll tell you when i'm messing around with it. What do you think?
[2924.59] NJ: Carlito because you've got one that flies on the lips. Yeah
[2928.11] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: You have to put a different prop
[2933.55] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: In the in the uh bottom, so if you take a look you have three, um, what are these?
[2940.43] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: Actually, these are the wrong pros, but doesn't matter
[2942.51] Tony: Uh, 45 that's not even underneath sorry to interrupt but can you show that that's like
[2948.59] Tony: How does that work? That's not even
[2951.95] NJ: Is this because of a loss in efficiency on the on the motor underneath?
[2955.79] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: yeah, otherwise
[2958.27] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: Otherwise when you punch out it goes like that
[2961.71] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: Slightly, but if it's like a bigger prop
[2965.15] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: If you put the bigger prop on the uh on the bottom
[2967.71] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: Then it works much better. I mean you still feel a little bit of drift, but it's it's
[2972.43] Tony: Much much less. Wow. That's the first time i've ever seen
[2976.11] Tony: Uh formation like that with the motor forward
[2981.23] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: See all the coolest stuff on this show
[2984.99] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: A bit of flight takes care of one of that. It doesn't really matter
[2987.63] Jack: This is why this is why i'm mod people because they're great
[2990.99] Jack: Matthew carla says for once I agree with jack
[2993.95] Jack: It sure sounded like you said bass flight for both times
[2996.99] Jack: But second time my brain automatically translated it to race flight
[3001.63] Jack: I just like positive dig at jack
[3005.71] Jack: mother
[3006.91] Jack: Andy, what is andy rc army?
[3010.75] Jack: About have you like made your own cult?
[3013.71] Andy: No
[3014.91] Jack: I'm not sure whether I want to drink your call
[3017.87] Jack: There's somebody else that I love it
[3021.71] Jack: I bet you've got a fan club. Oh andy rc. I really like it
[3025.55] Jack: I bet that person who sent you that really storky message has made you a little fan club
[3030.59] Andy: And it's really it's the first I've heard of it. I can't
[3034.35] Andy: Join it. I want to join army. I think maybe they're just saying
[3038.19] Andy: I think maybe they're just saying that they're here from the video that I made yesterday because there's no army that i'm aware of
[3043.71] Andy: Are you just bending your army then? No, that's fine. Join the army. Can I join?
[3050.43] Andy: You're the commander
[3055.39] Andy: I am not a leader of anything
[3057.55] Jack: So now every time that address andy rc you got a salute
[3061.79] Andy: Yeah
[3070.22] Jack: All right, we love andy rc
[3072.7] Tony: Oh, he's not happy he's talking
[3076.3] Andy: And you always have to say andy rc you just can't say andy without saying oh, that's because we've got two two andrews, aren't we?
[3085.42] Andy: So frank, that's what the hell are we all about. It's two andrews
[3090.54] Andy: Donut by now, yeah, yeah, this is gonna completely confuse everyone
[3098.46] Tony: It will
[3100.54] Jack: Andy rc's great. I built my first quad using
[3104.06] Jack: You how to build cheap quad copter series. Yeah. Thanks. Yeah
[3108.38] Andy: That's that series. Yeah, I have well kind of I did a build of the the floss
[3114.62] Andy: Which is like I sort of did like every every time I was talking to mj about this sort of every time
[3120.86] Andy: There's a new stepping component. So we had the 32-bit eses come out
[3126.54] Andy: So I did a build on that and how to do it, but we haven't really had many big changes yet
[3133.58] Andy: so
[3134.46] Andy: Yeah, the floss was the last one that I did a few months ago
[3138.06] Andy: And uh, i've got a micro build coming up as well that i'm going to be doing but yeah
[3143.18] Andy: I try and update it every time
[3146.06] Andy: We get new components and stuff
[3148.78] Jack: I don't i'd also like to point out that there is a beautiful friendship blooming if you think me and tony are made for each other
[3157.58] Jack: nj
[3158.78] Jack: and
[3163.26] Jack: Really like bonded in the ldo chat and like, you know
[3167.34] Jack: they kind of they kind of do their little reviewer thing that none of us are a part of because
[3173.42] Jack: They end each other's sentences
[3175.66] Jack: Yeah
[3176.62] Jack: Yeah, because like me and tony would never be trusted with a reviewing anything because like we didn't expect you to test it
[3183.98] Jack: By putting it in your mouth
[3185.98] Tony: You know and send us something to review. Um, I will go
[3193.82] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: I will not only be the best the worst
[3196.94] Tony: In the planet it would be like has anyone seen rick and morty that's me and jack
[3205.5] Jack: Yeah about that, uh, we're gonna do a special, uh, halloween special. Uh, I think you should all tune in
[3214.14] Tony: Definitely gonna do a rick and halloween special. Yeah
[3218.38] Tony: If you can guess who's who
[3221.02] NJ: Seen an interesting question
[3223.34] NJ: In skinny arms, is that it? Yeah. Yeah. What do you all think of the new frames with skinny arms and vertical arms?
[3229.42] NJ: So i'll just say this before we start that subject in terms of uh
[3234.86] NJ: What people talk about aerodynamics of course, there's nothing zero
[3239.34] NJ: Absolutely. Nothing is not to office aerodynamically. It doesn't do anything. No power. It falls out the sky
[3246.06] NJ: all you're maintaining is uh induced drag or
[3250.22] NJ: Managing induced drag. So having vertical arms
[3254.22] NJ: there's
[3255.74] NJ: It's a really big and complicated topic
[3258.86] NJ: Um, and i'm not entirely convinced by some of the wind tunnel tests that i've seen
[3264.3] NJ: Uh, hello kitty. Um, but but yeah, it's it's vertical. I'm sorry
[3270.62] NJ: I think it's um
[3272.3] NJ: As I said you're brute forcing your way around the sky vertical arms will have their pluses and minuses
[3277.42] NJ: They do reduce the drag or the induced drag on the quadcopter
[3281.42] NJ: But the whole quad is no matter which way you look at it a giant draggy mess
[3286.54] NJ: Um pretty much in in almost every regard. There's nothing beautiful about the way air flows around the quadcopter
[3292.62] NJ: I'm, sorry. That's just not sorry to destroy the romance in that
[3302.06] Jack: I'd just like to point out a battery whilst
[3305.02] Jack: Uh carlito was stroking his pussy
[3309.34] Jack: I just like to sorry. Sorry andy after please carry on that's fine
[3313.98] Andy: All I was gonna say on that was i've got i've got a few of these
[3317.5] Andy: Frames not with their vertical arms
[3319.1] Andy: But with the thinner arms and I find them a lot more floaty and I don't know if that that's because there's sort of
[3325.26] Andy: Less resistance of of the airflow coming from the props
[3329.42] Andy: Like like there's less deflection coming off because they're they're skinnier
[3334.22] Andy: So I find that you get way more air time, but i'm talking to nj about this as well
[3339.74] Andy: It's different characteristics
[3341.1] Andy: People might not like the fact that when you come down on the throttle it sort of floats down rather than the weight of the thing
[3348.54] Andy: Could sort of makes it drop really quickly. So
[3354.54] Tony: Fossils was the first one to do the vertical arm on the revo
[3358.14] Tony: and smoky is our top pilot and he's winning quite a lot using the revo and
[3363.9] Tony: he you and it really it comes down to take off like his his takeoff speeds that first like
[3373.18] Tony: That that instant of clean air seems to be getting in
[3378.46] Tony: In front and it works and if you you listen to um any
[3384.06] NJ: Nothing left behind a quadcopter is clean air, but I I I see what you're saying
[3388.14] NJ: But I do think there's a big element of skill
[3390.14] Tony: What i'm talking about the first lot of clean are over the arms in that first punch out
[3394.86] Tony: If anyone watches the guy from australia, I've forgotten his name
[3399.42] Tony: He's been reviewing
[3401.18] Tony: Vertical arms. Yeah. Good day
[3404.14] NJ: Let me say this as well. Let me say this as well
[3406.38] NJ: There's something I just want to leave in this place for you to go away and if you so desire to research
[3412.3] NJ: one of the biggest problems
[3414.38] NJ: Uh-oh the hammer's out one of the biggest problems. I mean the revos are fantastic frame
[3419.34] NJ: But the actual string on the revo the dyneema should I say?
[3423.82] NJ: Have you ever seen what happens to a cord?
[3427.18] NJ: With smoke passing it in a wind tunnel
[3429.5] NJ: And you know this is like you've mentioned to me before that they make a whistle
[3433.58] NJ: Okay, when you get to a certain speed that the revos whistle now, do you know what whistling is?
[3438.2] Jack: oscillation
[3439.34] NJ: Correct
[3440.54] Jack: It's an oscillation take that huffle path
[3443.74] NJ: And if you actually yeah, if you ever there's you can actually see like um
[3450.38] NJ: some of the wind tunnel tests on things like
[3452.38] NJ: By the old biplanes and if you remember you had the old biplanes the amount of cross sections with uh,
[3457.66] NJ: all
[3458.46] NJ: Strain with wires and cords if you actually see a section of uh
[3462.7] NJ: Air, uh as it seemed through a smoke tunnel passing through that the mess that that leaves behind again is
[3469.66] NJ: Absolutely, you know, this is again one of the reasons also contributing factor to white by by planes and uh planes with that kind of
[3477.66] NJ: Wires all over it they're exposed to the airflow were so slow
[3481.58] NJ: Um, but as I said, it's hugely hugely complicated. But as I said, don't associate aerodynamics with helicopters
[3488.38] NJ: It's not the way to think of it. It's about drag management
[3491.74] Jack: Do you know what i've always really wanted to do with tony's?
[3494.86] Jack: Revo is like cut out little clothes in like a four bits of paper and then stick it like a little washing line on his
[3502.14] Jack: revo
[3507.18] Jack: Little socks, you know, it's like little fairy pegs you get on christmas cards. Yeah, man
[3513.58] Tony: At the moment motors way outperform aerodynamics like you just shove yourself through the air at the moment
[3521.5] Jack: When you go that revo three though with no washing line is three inches sick
[3527.82] Jack: That thing does rip dicks off even though it's only three inches
[3531.82] NJ: Yeah, that that sounds
[3533.98] NJ: Definitely like something i'd like to check out. It's fast man. The little fringe
[3538.86] Andy: How's um, have any of you guys ever watched kabab fpv? He does a lot of stuff. He's it's actually
[3545.98] Tony: I hate his name, but i've watched it
[3548.94] Jack: He does a lot of you get vegetarian kebabs tony vegan, yeah, I know just don't like the name
[3555.5] Andy: Oh fair enough. Sorry andi. I see he does a lot of stuff on because he's the I think he's the designer of the floss
[3562.38] Andy: And he's got a lot of opinions on
[3565.1] Andy: All it could be disk loading theory and stuff like that if you want to go and check that out, but
[3571.98] Tony: Sorry, there's only a certain amount of speed you can get up to on a racetrack. Anyway, that's true
[3577.98] Tony: So
[3579.82] Jack: Yeah, so and you got a question for once someone actually wants to like ask you something and hang on
[3586.78] Jack: My name so that can't be me. I I prove that really that's the girl spelling, isn't it?
[3594.46] Tony: What is the question of the girl spelling name I may answer it or I may totally ignore it i'll put it in the chat
[3602.62] Tony: Tony watched steve flying with a kid
[3607.26] Tony: Track he knows really well kiddo was killing him watched a bit about him complain how fast he was taking off disappearing
[3615.5] Tony: What is that that must be to do with vertical arms that first bit of punch?
[3620.86] Tony: From the vertical arms like the clean air around the vertical arms. There's got to be clean air. We've done tests on it
[3627.98] Tony: No
[3629.82] Tony: Taking off with vertical arms than not vertical arms
[3634.14] Jack: I'm gonna
[3637.1] Jack: It doesn't work it does i've done tests you want me to tell you a secret the earth's not flat. Yeah
[3650.06] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: That's not the secret i'm gonna i'm gonna exemplify
[3653.26] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: I have a video to do about this, but I haven't had time yet
[3656.54] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: most most quads
[3658.86] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: Use so if this is the front of the quad, right?
[3661.82] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: Most quads have the battery facing front like this, right?
[3666.54] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: that means that
[3668.06] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: When you place the quad on the floor, it's either going to tip left or right and the the lift off capabilities are going to go up
[3676.22] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: Not front right unless you start tilting but then you're probably going to hit the the
[3680.78] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: the props on the floor
[3683.26] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: if you turn the battery sideways
[3687.42] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: You have yourself an in-built quad filter or whatever you want to call it
[3691.98] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: you know the little things that people put their quads in to go faster and that's
[3697.58] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: What makes you go faster in the beginning of a race because you're not going up and forward. You're just going forward by the way
[3705.5] Tony: I have no idea what you're talking about
[3707.5] Tony: Can't wait for the please do that
[3711.42] NJ: No, no look we've got pull uh
[3715.42] NJ: Betamata
[3716.78] NJ: In the uh in the comment section of the first thing I was going to ask paul if he's if he's still there listening was
[3723.9] NJ: Was about the the fr sky thing of why they switched to crossfire
[3728.62] NJ: Um for racing because uh, we discussed that earlier. So yeah pulls there
[3734.22] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: Do you want to take more big martha mate?
[3736.54] NJ: Yeah
[3739.5] Tony: I think I don't like it. It's a reasonable
[3744.7] Tony: actual drone related conversation. I know this is great
[3749.1] NJ: This is my speed. I like this
[3751.82] Tony: But I think unfortunately we're gonna have to wrap up the podcast there. So
[3759.18] NJ: Next week's episode
[3761.82] Tony: We can carry on
[3764.14] Tony: We'll have to we'll have to end there
[3765.82] Tony: But the conversation can carry on but it'll just stay on youtube and never ever reach ichunes
[3771.82] Tony: So why does it have to stop?
[3774.14] Tony: I'm up for another 20 minutes if you want to pay the editor for another hour of editing then feel free
[3780.54] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: editing
[3784.62] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: It's live what editing
[3787.34] Tony: To get it onto itunes to take out the swearing so that it doesn't get taken down from my
[3795.9] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: We are
[3798.6] Jack: Talking about you
[3802.81] Tony: Well andy i'll see i've heard i've seen this twice in a chat. Please answer sparrow or swift micro
[3811.05] Tony: Oh, that's a tricky one
[3813.77] Jack: Well, I will email you the link pool. Sorry
[3816.81] Andy: the um the sparrow
[3819.45] Andy: It well, it's 16 by 9 for a start and it's cmas
[3824.25] Andy: so
[3825.77] Andy: I mean i'm using both of them. So if I want to go and fly 16 by 9
[3831.13] Andy: Then uh, then I use the sparrow micro
[3835.69] Andy: Come on carly tuss. He's dying to throw
[3840.09] Andy: Conversation
[3841.53] Tony: Have you tried the sparrow you need to be wearing? Um v3 goggles for that then
[3846.89] Andy: Well, and it or or the onway goggles or the visor goggles anything 16 by nine. Yeah
[3853.37] Tony: Yeah, yeah, so if I was wearing my don v2 side it would not be good for me
[3859.77] Andy: it'd be all
[3860.89] Andy: it'd be all stretched and
[3862.89] Andy: so it depends on your goggles and how
[3865.69] Andy: You know a lot of people are fine flying four by three through 16 by nine visor goggles like because like sky zones
[3872.41] Andy: Yeah, that was the only choice that you had because there's no 16 by nine
[3876.33] Andy: cameras, so
[3878.41] Andy: I like them both. I I thought it was a great camera the the sparrow the micro
[3884.01] NJ: Yeah, i'm waiting to mine as well to turn up because i've spent
[3887.77] NJ: I know we sort of covered this last week, but I spent so much time messing around with the monster
[3892.25] NJ: Um, and I like flying in 16 by 9, but I could even the months and months of v2
[3896.65] NJ: I couldn't quite get that picture to work in the dynamic range the way
[3901.61] NJ: You need us. Yeah with with good exposure in the hot lighting contrast conditions
[3907.13] NJ: um, because the latency and the latency test on the monster 2 that the monster 2 is actually quicker than the hs 1177 which is
[3913.93] NJ: Amazing. So if the sparrow does that which I know from your footage looks like it does
[3918.97] NJ: The sparrows could be a real winner for me personally
[3923.85] Andy: My problem my problem mj is that I fly a lot of the the micros that come with the little tiny all-in-one
[3930.89] Andy: cameras that are CMOS and
[3933.21] Andy: When you go from that to a sparrow, it's it's light and day, you know, so
[3938.41] NJ: Absolutely. Yeah
[3940.49] NJ: Pull the water. Hang on
[3942.49] NJ: Is he there? Yeah
[3944.33] Jack: Yes, I am. Uh, mate
[3947.93] Jack: Um, hang on i'll just i'll just message uh dave as well. Uh, can I just throw a spanner in the works just before?
[3955.21] Jack: like the sensible stuff
[3957.21] Jack: Sorry, what do you guys think of this? Hang on. Um, get
[3962.17] Jack: Share screen naked naked wrestling between no
[3967.45] Jack: Everyone there you go. I'm just gonna play this but you guys can carry on talking
[3976.52] NJ: Why are we watching? What? Uh, look, what's she gonna do with the baby?
[3981.56] NJ: Uh, baby left baby, right is she gonna breastfeed?
[3985.4] Jack: A drone that carries your child is terrifying. Oh the title, right? Yeah
[3990.6] Jack: Sorry, carry on poles nj
[3993.48] Paul: Hey
[3996.68] Paul: Sorry, how are you guys? I'm good, man
[4003.08] Paul: I just caught on the conversation about the um, what was it the vertical arms and stuff like that?
[4007.56] Paul: So, uh, I thought was pretty cool
[4009.56] NJ: Oh, it was you know, we give us your input
[4013.48] Paul: Um, screw you guys my my input I think is i'm probably very biased because i've been very heavily influenced with
[4021.16] Paul: thomas always proving me wrong, but um
[4024.84] Paul: I think you obviously get more thrust because obviously the props um
[4030.28] Paul: It's lost a lot less surface area for them to sort of uh, uh combat with
[4034.68] Paul: Um, that's I think where you get the most gains, but having said that
[4038.68] Paul: Um, i'm not sure if there's any pilots at the moment capable of flying those quads at their limit
[4046.7] Tony: Okay. So what do you think about?
[4049.34] Tony: um vertical arm
[4051.18] Tony: Start, you know, like the the you know, beep beep beep
[4060.62] Paul: Are you talking about vertical arms on the quad are you talking about vertically tilted make the quad up so it
[4067.1] Tony: the quad and the and and and and and the fact that
[4071.18] Tony: You get the clean air as soon as you start the motor and can get in
[4076.06] Tony: Oh
[4078.14] Paul: I think I don't think it's so much
[4081.1] Andy: Is laughing yeah, this is this is the most bizarre conversation i've ever seen happen over a drone carrying a baby
[4095.18] Paul: Should try vertical arms on it
[4098.3] NJ: I think that going along and short of what tony was asking was do you think the vertical arm quadcopters?
[4104.46] NJ: Stop
[4107.34] Tony: Yeah
[4109.82] Paul: Okay, it depends on the track what usually we will see happen in a lot of races is people will take off
[4116.7] Paul: Faster with the vertical arms. Yeah, but then coming into the first turn
[4121.5] Paul: They've got so much speed that they completely overshoot the turn
[4125.74] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: Okay
[4127.1] Paul: So I I think if you're capable at flying one of those quads and you think you're capable of flying this to its limit
[4134.46] Paul: um
[4136.62] Paul: It's doable, but I don't know how many pilots are at that level at the moment
[4140.86] Paul: I certainly know I don't think thomas is anywhere near that level where he can actually fly
[4144.78] Paul: something where um, I mean even if we went to um
[4148.3] Paul: Muncie indiana a lot of the guys there
[4151.5] Paul: weren't flying these super duper aerodynamic quads, which is the kind of thing that I was expecting, um
[4158.14] Paul: None of the quads had super slick. I mean some did but for the most part i'm talking about the people that were in the top 10
[4163.74] Paul: Um, none of them had super sleek arms or anything like that. You know what I mean? So, um
[4169.1] Paul: And I don't think there's anything wrong with that. I just think the flying skill level at the moment isn't there
[4177.58] Paul: We've got david here
[4186.22] Jack: I know that's what happens right now. But again, all right, let's try now just your eye dave
[4193.9] Windestål: Hey david talk talk
[4198.46] Windestål: Hey, I want to say how you can pop
[4201.34] Paul: Hello david thomas is going to thomas is going to be getting up in about five minutes. He's going to freak out when he sees you on
[4208.06] Jack: Oh, that's good. Oh, I think you should put your camera on him whilst he's sleeping and then wake him up
[4215.26] Windestål: For being like
[4217.9] Jack: You can whisper it's been watching you sleep
[4222.38] Paul: No, he's going to be happy to be with me. That's for sure
[4225.42] Jack: Yeah, he'll then spend some of his like drone winning money on serious counseling
[4233.34] Jack: That's the whole point of being a father though to mess up your kids, isn't it?
[4236.78] Jack: That's why tony's not allowed to breathe anymore. David said
[4241.98] Windestål: We do have this it is literal part of all right
[4246.22] Tony: David are you going to use my
[4248.78] Tony: um
[4249.74] Tony: my uh rocket no
[4252.22] Windestål: Your rocket. Oh your yes, I will cut a coconut for you. Tony. Thank you
[4258.14] Jack: I thought it was not about we use my rocket in my pants. I thought it was like a secret coach
[4267.9] Tony: Do rocket knife can I can I be the can I send you a pm of
[4273.88] Tony: rocket fist
[4276.78] Jack: I need to like properly get my mic set up for him and just like, you know, have his like little christmas jingle like
[4285.98] Windestål: Anyone that wants to record one and send me just do it i'll use it send it to rc explorer
[4294.62] Windestål: No, take that rc explorer.se. Yeah. Yeah. Oh man, right i'm sending mine in a minute
[4301.98] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: Is it is it cold there?
[4303.98] Windestål: It looks slightly cold. Yeah
[4307.26] Windestål: Cold in the house too and I haven't
[4309.26] Windestål: Um had to throw stuff in the uh, what do you call that fireplace? Yes
[4316.7] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: Yeah, talk and is there is there a one thing you
[4321.18] Windestål: Actually, no, but
[4324.06] Windestål: I mean, i'm in the sofa. It's very very cozy. I have a dog here, too
[4330.3] Jack: Um, oh god, what was I gonna say? David, give me two things for uh, two more things for you to fist
[4345.82] Andy: How's it gonna work i'm interested how it's gonna work because I love rocket knife
[4349.42] Jack: Say i've got i've got watermelon. Give me something else that you want want to fist. You gotta be coconut
[4355.5] Jack: You don't fist the coconut you knife the coconut surely yeah, we're gonna you got a knife for coconut
[4362.54] Windestål: Yeah, I was I what I wanted to do was uh do a mold of a face
[4368.46] Windestål: and then fill that with yellow and
[4373.02] Windestål: Oh jack's face, yeah, I need to scratch flies like that would be so good
[4380.38] Jack: How you got through airport security I never know
[4385.1] Windestål: I would never I was so nervous. I was just because in my bag is a bulletproof vest
[4395.74] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: All normal things I don't see any problem and two computers
[4401.66] Jack: No problem and cables and stuff
[4405.5] Jack: Lipo battery in a giant fist
[4409.58] Jack: I'm not making your sex robot. I swear
[4411.98] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: I
[4413.98] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: Dude dude, I have I have an idea for you for rocket knife. Yep, you rocket knife a knife
[4419.98] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: Into another knife, but here's the twist
[4423.1] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: Wait, wait, wait you connect one knife
[4426.3] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: with a positive and the other knife with a negative
[4429.58] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: of some high voltage so when they actually meet each other and like rocket knife each other some
[4435.02] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: Big spark is gonna happen
[4437.18] Tony: Say rocket knife without saying
[4439.98] Windestål: You just can't it's just illegal. Oh, I absolutely love that idea that we weld together
[4447.24] Windestål: friction and yeah
[4451.5] Jack: And you could do flint as well two bits of flint that would make loads of sparks, oh, yeah
[4458.22] Jack: You know or or the old, you know the magnesium fire starters
[4464.54] Jack: Yeah, a hot whale of that would be pretty sick
[4468.22] Windestål: I don't know if I can get those in Sweden
[4470.86] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: Why?
[4471.66] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: Well, it's our legal things just come and buy it here and take it on the plane
[4478.78] Jack: Something else to carry on
[4481.66] Jack: Please honestly, they're going to be like so you've come to england like four times now. Are you a drug fuel?
[4490.46] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: What's that officer I can't carry five kilos of magnesium in my carry-on
[4496.14] Tony: Is tom awake
[4498.86] Tony: No, no, he's gonna be awake shortly
[4506.46] NJ: I have to ask paul a question quickly. Um, just because we we chat a lot tonight about crossfire
[4511.18] NJ: But can you tell us the reason why you switched over because we talked about problems at races with everyone in front
[4516.78] NJ: fr sky
[4517.74] NJ: Can you just let me highlight your experience with that?
[4520.94] Paul: okay, well the story with us was um
[4524.22] Paul: How we weren't planning on jumping on the crossfire bandwagon only because we haven't been doing long-range flying for ages
[4530.7] Paul: So hence that's what I sort of associate
[4534.14] Paul: Crossfire with when we were in Muncie, Indiana
[4537.82] Paul: Trappie was asking whether thomas would be interested in trying to crossfire out for latency
[4542.22] Paul: Because he was running through where it was going to be quicker and he wanted to know how much
[4546.54] Paul: Would someone like thomas actually feel would he feel it like would it be significant enough for him to actually want to change over?
[4552.3] Paul: Um was it was was the latency actually noticeable? So hence we agreed to actually um try it out
[4558.7] Paul: He sent us a unit
[4560.78] Paul: um, I probably had it for about two weeks and I hadn't installed it yet and we had a
[4565.72] Paul: Competition coming up in uh adlaid and it's it at a at the royal show
[4570.94] Paul: So hence i've got a lot of rf noise. I've got tv cameras there
[4574.22] Paul: Um, they have about 10 000 spectators. There's lots of mobile phones, um
[4578.78] Paul: Wi-Fi and all that sort of stuff
[4581.02] Paul: And last year when we raced at that race
[4584.14] Paul: Uh thomas's fr sky was fail-saving
[4587.58] Paul: And this year the same sort of thing was actually happening
[4589.98] Paul: They try to improve things but people were still experiencing fail-safes with um
[4594.86] Paul: with uh
[4596.3] Paul: I think futaba it was spectrum. The already was actually worked. I've got no idea why spectrum worked, but it did
[4601.98] Paul: Wow, um, and also so it was fr sky and futaba that were having dramas and we were running fr sky
[4608.38] Paul: Cut a long story short the day before the race I got word that a whole lot of um
[4612.78] Paul: Guys were having dramas with fr sky. So we had the one crossfire. We installed it
[4618.7] Paul: Got it going and hence. Um
[4621.58] Paul: The latency was definitely better and obviously on the track it actually worked well, but we essentially put on for
[4627.9] Paul: Uh better control link because we knew we're in a in an environment where there was just a massive amount of rf noise
[4634.78] Paul: That was our main reason but now i've actually got a second one now for myself
[4638.14] Paul: So i'm switching over to the two
[4640.22] NJ: And and you say that thomas really noticed that he did notice the latency, uh improvement
[4646.94] Paul: Yeah, look without a doubt. Um
[4648.94] Paul: The way trappy described it he described it
[4652.62] Paul: In such a way that he's almost implied that it has to be a really
[4656.22] Paul: Like a like a really high-end pilot and you would notice it. Well, that's what he was sort of alluding to
[4661.66] Paul: Um thomas flew with it and said to me straight away even at my level. I would notice it for sure
[4666.7] Paul: He said there's no way none. You won't notice it
[4668.3] Paul: so I think if you're anywhere from intermediate and
[4671.9] Paul: On you would actually notice if you're a beginner you're probably not going to notice it because your coordination is your bigger issue than actually uh
[4679.34] Paul: Um, uh the latency so hence, um, I haven't flown with it yet. I will probably fly with it this weekend
[4685.58] Paul: So i'm interested to know so we might do a video with myself and see whether someone at my school level
[4691.82] Paul: Would actually notice if not, but thomas is really confident that I will and I sort of trust his judgment
[4697.42] Paul: I mean you flew with it. What did you think of it?
[4699.82] NJ: Yeah, it was the same experience for me and it was it was
[4703.26] NJ: Something I'd kind of forgotten about because I had some issues with binding initially and when I got got the whole thing working
[4709.66] NJ: I ran out
[4711.1] NJ: Just to go and try it and fly it and it was actually out of my head the whole latency thing completely
[4716.38] NJ: Didn't think about it and as soon as I flew it almost caught me off guard like
[4720.62] NJ: Wow, just totally immediately noticed the response difference. So
[4725.82] NJ: Which i'm kind of relieved about because I thought if I don't notice this and thomas does then i'll god i'm getting old and slow
[4732.22] NJ: but
[4734.78] NJ: Yeah, i'm super glad I did uh didn't notice it and I yeah, I agree it did feel
[4740.86] NJ: Fairly apparent
[4742.7] Paul: Yeah
[4744.22] Paul: Across the board. I think that's been the consensus. I mean i'm
[4747.26] Paul: Just about everyone's feeling it. I mean if you're in tune with your quad, you will feel it for sure
[4750.7] Paul: There's no two ways about it at all. Um
[4753.42] Paul: Uh, and the way thomas also described it was uh coming into a gate that last minute correction you've got to put in
[4759.9] Paul: Um, he just felt he was more in tune with the quad. It was a lot easier to get through gates, etc
[4766.22] Paul: Um, especially at high speeds when you're offline just that last minute correction
[4769.66] Paul: So, um, he felt it straight away straight away. Um, and even with the motors he chose to run
[4774.86] Paul: For that right race. He went with 27 50
[4778.54] Paul: Kv
[4779.9] Paul: And um, what he noticed was even down low
[4783.9] Paul: Because those motors don't have as much control because they're a higher kv motor
[4788.86] Paul: But because the latency was reduced it felt as though down low
[4792.78] Paul: It was actually more in control than it was before if that makes sense. Yeah, that's super interesting
[4798.06] NJ: Well, it's great to have some some validation from the champ. Anyway
[4801.98] Jack: you think you think um
[4803.74] Jack: Trappy wouldn't care about latency because like he's really stoned all the time
[4811.1] Jack: Yeah, man
[4812.78] Jack: It all moves. I I like to imagine him as neo like everything moves really slowly for him. Yeah, that's what happens. Yeah
[4819.98] Paul: He's pretty chill. That's for sure. Especially if there's a race
[4824.54] Jack: You piss him off he wants to kill your ass
[4827.18] Paul: Yeah
[4828.14] Paul: we've seen both sides of you seen my nasty side too, so uh
[4831.98] Paul: We've we've clashed a few times but for the most part what no way really
[4837.26] Paul: No, we actually have we actually have seriously
[4840.3] Paul: Um, but having said that what I do actually like about trappy is
[4844.62] Paul: Unlike some people you could have a disagreement with him and you could turn around and say look you're a douchebag
[4849.58] Paul: You know what I mean or whatever just walk away thinking you're both idiots
[4852.54] Paul: You know what I mean, but he doesn't actually seem to hold the grudge
[4854.46] Paul: Well, he hasn't held a grudge against me. You know what I mean? You can still have a civil conversation
[4858.54] Paul: You can have a disagreement and leave it at that
[4860.62] Paul: Whereas I know some people if you have a disagreement with it's like the end of the world
[4864.62] Paul: Uh, they've decided they're completely like gonna write you off and they don't want everything to do with you
[4868.06] Paul: You know what I mean? There's and realistic. There's nothing wrong with having a disagreement and not seeing eye to eye. So, um
[4873.42] Paul: That's one thing. Um, we'll see how it goes up the next few years whether you still
[4877.74] Paul: Nice towards me or not whether he hates me or not. I'm not sure we'll probably have a few more clashes
[4881.02] Paul: But for the most part look he's been really good
[4883.58] Jack: Yeah
[4885.02] Jack: I reckon you just have one or two. I'll get some in and then he kind of gets over it really
[4889.98] Paul: Yeah, that's what I mean
[4890.86] Paul: I mean some people you can have one little tiny argument about the smallest of things
[4894.54] Paul: I had one guy
[4895.82] Paul: That got upset with me because on facebook I posted I was thinking about getting solar panels
[4900.46] Paul: And he decided solar panels on a house roof
[4903.74] Paul: were terrible
[4905.18] Paul: And um, most people wouldn't give a crap whether I got solar panels on it
[4908.78] Paul: But for this guy because we agreed to disagree it really it really got under his skin and realistically
[4913.42] Paul: It was about solar panels for god's sakes, you know what I mean? Like and yeah
[4916.38] Jack: I bought only a chicken once he went nature
[4927.26] NJ: So, um david i've got to ask what's what's happening in the world of tricopters with you
[4934.86] Windestål: That's it because I thought I was listening to the show
[4940.14] Windestål: I'm getting away with it. Okay tricopters. Um
[4944.46] Windestål: I'm working on some stuff some fun stuff. It's so tricotters are so difficult with the servo
[4951.34] Windestål: like it's uh
[4953.42] Windestål: It's getting better the uh developer of uh, tri-fly
[4958.92] Windestål: Laocca he's making amazing progress on it, but it's still its tail servo is slow
[4966.14] Windestål: And the tg is above the rotation axis
[4970.22] Windestål: So you always get that throw in the opposite direction which gets to the flight controller and you get
[4979.42] Windestål: Like oh, it's a mess David was watching you sleep, son
[4987.18] Tony: How's it going there's the champ
[4992.22] NJ: He's like
[4995.82] NJ: Hey, what's up?
[4996.7] Jack: He's like the swedish elf on a shelf. Is that right? Is that swiss?
[5001.1] Jack: Can't you get those fire liners on the swedish army knife? Oh, no, that is swiss
[5010.22] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: David i've got something to show you
[5014.46] Jack: Oh, so cute you always scares the living shit out of him when you say that
[5021.98] Windestål: That is so cute there you go
[5025.26] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: And the servo just moves the uh little that's like one on the back
[5034.06] Windestål: Oh sweet
[5038.94] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: It's the only triac apply like
[5043.5] Jack: Have you ever uh reviewed a uh a swedish
[5047.98] Andy: Tricopter no, no, i'd love to though. I'd love to i've never even flown a tricopter in fact
[5055.1] Andy: I know
[5056.54] Andy: I haven't either. Yeah, i'd love to it's the it's the number one request that I get but I
[5062.54] Andy: I don't know how to go about it. So I it's something I it's something on the list to do definitely and
[5068.86] Andy: Carlitos did what's the story behind this uh this micro i've never seen that either
[5075.26] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: I think this yeah
[5080.86] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: Well, it's not a hobby king one
[5087.18] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: Blue arrow
[5090.06] Andy: It's like an ultra micro servo. Is it a kit or have you built it yourself?
[5095.1] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: No, this is from uh matt marciniac
[5098.22] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: So you have uh, can I plug a side for him?
[5101.34] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: Micron yeah, it's let's throw now no one cares
[5104.94] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: Oh, uh, yeah, I can micro micro props and he has like a little kit. Yeah. Yeah, it can send you one if you want to review it
[5114.3] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: That looks awesome. I love that and it has like a little picot board on the bottom
[5119.26] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: So it's only that the thing is that it only works with this type of board
[5123.66] Jack: Uh, but yeah, it flies flies amazingly. I won't take david long to put the feedback
[5128.86] Andy: Can I ask David does david still prefer to fly tricopters over quadcopters? Are you coming around to?
[5137.42] Windestål: Both have their merits, but yes, they do fly
[5141.74] Windestål: Quads, they're amazing. Yeah and the sizes like compared to
[5148.62] Jack: traitor
[5151.5] Windestål: It's tricopters were superior back when we got those huge quads and that because they didn't get off fast enough. Yeah
[5159.98] Windestål: but
[5161.02] Windestål: Quads today and all the
[5163.64] Windestål: Development time that have been put into quads. There's like
[5167.96] Windestål: Millions of hours put into getting them to fly good
[5171.98] Windestål: Yeah, compared to tricopters where we probably have a hundred
[5177.58] Windestål: Yeah, it's uh, but still I love how
[5180.94] Windestål: You get that flowiness the swooshiness
[5184.7] Andy: Yeah, yeah. Well, you have your own kits date. I need to buy one and and do a
[5190.62] Andy: I watched your uh, I watched your build video of it as well. And that was great. I love that. Yeah
[5196.38] Jack: You're the only one
[5198.94] Jack: even though you speak in swinglish
[5201.74] Jack: who explains
[5204.7] Jack: End points and
[5207.08] Jack: Subtrim properly david that is that's what I love about you. Not because you're swedish and you're mental
[5214.62] Jack: because
[5215.58] Jack: You can teach an animal like me you're one step away from tony
[5220.78] Jack: If you teach tony you like that do do smack some sense into hell and keller
[5226.3] Tony: uh, can someone put um in the live chat someone put the link to um,
[5231.98] Tony: david's
[5233.58] Tony: Um website because I think some people want to look at the tricop. Yeah zeros put it in there
[5239.42] Jack: I think zeros like doing it all the time. Uh, zero may have put it in there
[5244.22] Tony: Um, I see a squirrel look matti carla's just put it in so if you guys want to check it out
[5249.9] Andy: It's called. It's not giving us a live flight of this tricopter. I'm trying
[5260.12] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: I don't remember how to anymore
[5262.44] Andy: I haven't flown this in ages. Yeah, it's really cool. I never seen that before. I don't know. I have not seen ever
[5272.73] Jack: I can't believe you never flown a tricopter
[5275.13] Andy: I know I sort of
[5276.65] Andy: I started off with like the the 450 size and then when it became sort of like the blackout then I moved
[5282.01] Andy: I always wanted to build one of those wooden ones that david used to build years ago with the
[5287.69] Andy: you know with flight tests, um
[5290.09] Andy: Yeah, I never got I was always worried about the servo breaking because
[5295.05] Andy: I flew planes a lot and the servos they they always go eventually have you tried not crashing?
[5301.21] Jack: I find that is the best thing for servos. Yes. Yeah
[5305.45] Tony: It's a tricky one andy i've just talked to um the guy
[5311.53] Tony: Carlos got that from and he's gonna send you a built one
[5315.61] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: Here we go
[5317.69] Tony: That's amazing. If you talk to me later after the show i'll give you
[5322.25] Tony: details i'll swap details and
[5324.33] Andy: I think that would be so popular. Honestly, yeah, it's coming. So
[5329.61] Tony: That's gonna happen. Yeah
[5331.61] Andy: Great. Oh, here we go
[5334.49] Tony: So i'm gonna find a cat
[5336.81] Jack: Yeah
[5337.93] Jack: The cats the cats off
[5339.93] Andy: Point your camera down a bit more. This is not a good advert for tricot. Where's paul off to like
[5349.37] Tony: Make it very good. I think paul's making very yes
[5362.72] Andy: It's like a ghost just covering up of the car
[5365.04] Andy: It is
[5370.24] Andy: We're doing our tv then on your on your tx you've got one of it is that a tbs tx you've got there
[5375.68] Andy: Yeah
[5376.96] Jack: I've never tried one of those even. I just like to point out that the uh, pussies are rc groups man. There's gonna be
[5384.32] Jack: Don't be a thread about me
[5386.96] Jack: That guy, um only did half an hour tonight
[5390.4] Jack: There we go
[5392.4] Andy: That's why you fly a kicopters. Is that is that the first live flight on that shown out as well?
[5400.8] Tony: Yeah, sting is warm as well
[5402.88] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: Look at this. It's incredible. Like I can hover it better than than a quad like in front of the camera. It's crazy
[5409.92] Andy: I wonder if you could I wonder if you could hook it up so that you could see the fpv feed like through the
[5415.92] Jack: Yeah, yeah
[5418.24] Jack: I do live stream. Yeah
[5422.4] Jack: Buy an analog thing because uh, am I gaming and stuff man?
[5426.8] Jack: Like he's on my case. Don't don't remind him
[5431.04] Jack: That's neat
[5433.52] Jack: Can the guy send one to david?
[5436.0] Jack: So david got one
[5438.0] Andy: David will just put a knife through it there
[5442.24] Jack: He's probably done it for
[5444.8] Andy: Those uh, those tiny motors just flying up one thing I love about the uh, the rocket knife thing
[5450.16] Andy: The the thing that i'm looking at the entire time is usually the little slides getting cut up and pinging off
[5457.92] Windestål: It's amazing that they react before the knife is there
[5461.84] Andy: Well, it's just the most the one with the goat bone. It looked like one got sliced in half like
[5468.64] Andy: It was so close. Yeah. Yeah, what's your favorite one that you've done so far?
[5474.08] Andy: Yeah
[5476.4] Jack: Good question
[5477.6] Jack: That is amazing. Have you seen that link zero put up?
[5483.2] Windestål: Sorry, just ignore me. No, I just got said yeah you you half a puff freaking
[5492.24] Jack: I hate that. That's all I get now. I get phone calls
[5495.92] Jack: like
[5496.64] Jack: I get phone calls at like 12 o'clock at night from gaff being like you're right half a puff and i'm like god damn you david
[5504.4] Tony: I'm not kidding
[5507.04] Andy: What the hell is that a dual cop?
[5511.2] Jack: Zero just posts the sickest stuff
[5515.12] Jack: Wow
[5518.8] Jack: My god damn zero, can you please learn english so we can have you on here like for crying out loud?
[5526.08] Andy: Sake david did it. I bet that's not easy to tune. That's all i'm thinking
[5533.92] Windestål: If you fly that line of sight which way is forward
[5539.04] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: There's a guy as well in india that randomly added me on facebook and it was like like my channel
[5544.64] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: and he builds this
[5546.48] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: dual and
[5548.24] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: Uni, um
[5549.34] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: Unicopters out of stuff that you find in the house now
[5553.44] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: When I say that most people think oh, yeah, like a balsa and stuff. No, I mean like
[5558.08] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: of of tupperwares and duct tape
[5561.52] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: And whatever you have in the kitchen kind of stuff like what before crazy stuck man, but dual dual copters
[5569.84] Andy: Did anybody see that video of that that lady?
[5572.96] Andy: She was like in a bikini or something and she was it was like a a manned quadcopter and just on a lake
[5579.36] Andy: just hovering around like
[5582.0] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: Mine only had a lady though
[5584.24] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: Oh
[5587.52] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: She was taking like of like parts of the clothes slowly and oh, yeah, no that's a different video color
[5595.52] Tony: Yeah, that's late night video
[5599.76] Andy: No, but it goes back to when we were talking about all it takes is a prop
[5603.52] Andy: Or a motor to stop and the thing flips over imagine that happening
[5607.68] Andy: Because it you know like on a quadcopter that you stand on there's no chance you get me on something like that
[5615.98] Jack: I see
[5617.66] Jack: space shuttle yeah with
[5620.3] Jack: weird motor
[5622.7] Jack: elevons
[5624.62] Jack: Is that right? What are they called? David? You're sensible
[5632.62] Windestål: What I'm just gonna throw out thruster ons
[5637.9] Jack: What
[5643.18] NJ: Is great that's what we're going with
[5645.34] Jack: Oh, mate
[5647.1] Jack: That sounds like captain scarlet
[5651.02] NJ: Trust runs and threaders
[5653.98] Windestål: Oh, I love it
[5659.5] Jack: Oh my god, what the hell is wrong with this show how does like
[5664.78] Jack: Too many can you show this show to your youtube lady? She'll be like i'm destroying that immediately
[5671.42] Jack: This needs to end
[5675.66] Jack: Oh my gosh, I know like should be like you you guys are worse than hitler
[5692.46] Jack: Oh man right i've had enough of that
[5695.66] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: Simone yet, this is so hot though. So we have we have the the champion of the world in fpv
[5701.42] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: And we're not asking you many questions
[5703.42] Jack: Yeah, we're having breakfast
[5706.38] Jack: I know like man like let him like he's probably brushing his teeth. He's like, what do you want to know?
[5711.9] Jack: That's the tempting of the world brush his teeth
[5717.26] Jack: Hello what's the breakfast I need ideas for tomorrow, um, kokopops
[5722.64] Jack: Oh
[5730.0] Thomas: Best news only here on let's run out
[5746.56] NJ: Sorry, I was just saying what's on the schedule now
[5748.88] NJ: When's the next race and you know, you're just chilling for a bit or
[5753.12] NJ: Practicing furiously. What's the schedule like?
[5756.24] Thomas: so for me right now
[5758.96] Thomas: mainly focusing on practice
[5761.28] Thomas: Hopefully soon. Um, this is like last month at school. So like today i've got a practice like a trial run of an exam
[5767.28] Thomas: so
[5768.32] Thomas: I think these next few weeks get me school oriented. Um
[5772.24] Thomas: Um
[5773.6] Thomas: As far as be racist go nothing planned yet
[5777.6] Thomas: Uh, there was one we're going to go to but it falls right at the beginning of my exam
[5781.36] Thomas: So i'm not sure if i'll be able to do it. Yeah, that's the career one
[5784.64] Thomas: Um, so after that everyone thinks you're going yeah, everyone thinks i'm going because they're posted that i'm going
[5789.52] Jack: You can't you can't take him to career. That's why they stick him in a boy band
[5794.08] Jack: I know
[5795.76] Jack: Hold it near that. Damn it. Tell your dad
[5799.28] Jack: I got that. I have to text him. No, you've got his phone
[5810.0] NJ: You know
[5811.2] NJ: Of practice for you thomas
[5812.96] NJ: What do you just literally burn pack off to pack around the track or is there something specific you can give to?
[5818.96] NJ: as tips for anyone who's interested
[5821.52] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: And becoming their world champion
[5824.08] UNKNOWN: Um
[5826.08] Thomas: I guess for me, it was pretty much just doing whatever I felt like I needed to whether it was just a racetrack or
[5832.32] Thomas: Maybe there was something I wasn't happy with like maybe how I was doing a slalom or something and I you know
[5836.72] Thomas: Focus more on that for like a day or something
[5839.28] Thomas: um
[5840.16] Thomas: other than that though, um
[5842.4] Thomas: I guess we're kind of lucky in mobile. We've got two clubs
[5845.28] Thomas: Um that do racing monthly, which means that the very least I was getting two races a month
[5849.36] Thomas: Which is kind of good because it gave me lots of race experience
[5852.4] Thomas: Um, it's not the same as like skill building and stuff like that. But still um, it's a different kind of uh
[5858.72] Thomas: training
[5860.88] NJ: Amazing that's really good to know. Yeah, I will say the one thing that always
[5864.48] NJ: uh blows my mind when I when i'm watching you race is always how fast you take the slalom and that's something that I
[5870.96] NJ: I've thought whenever i've tried anything like that on a track i've always been
[5874.88] NJ: quite nosed down
[5876.32] NJ: Going around uh anything that's sort of moderately like a slalom, but I notice you you actually bank quite heavily
[5883.04] NJ: Um into your slalom. Is that right?
[5885.92] Thomas: Um, yeah, um, I mean there's a few different ways you can go around. Um
[5891.36] Thomas: This is what I do
[5893.12] NJ: But it definitely seems to work
[5895.36] Tony: And he's always so cool about it as well. He's like, yeah
[5898.8] Tony: I've won but yeah, I could have done far. I could have done better
[5902.64] Tony: He always says that always
[5905.12] Tony: Yeah, yeah, I love that
[5908.56] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: I think we need to have some type of like
[5911.42] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: challenger
[5912.72] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: series
[5914.4] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: Where the fastest balance just yeah. Yeah. No not toning
[5919.68] Tony: But budget's got a second suffered. Thank you very much
[5925.28] Jack: For how long oh my god, it was one hour and 36 minutes it seemed to mention that
[5934.64] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: I kind of want to see
[5936.24] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: I kind of want to see tom versus like bani for example
[5939.92] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: in a in a pre
[5941.76] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: I don't know like an organized match like if it was boxing or something but for yeah. Yeah
[5946.8] Jack: What there is something wrong with you pitting school kids against each other
[5955.28] Jack: From bullying but here we have mr. Seacrest destroy, um coming in today. So, uh, he's
[5963.2] Jack: He's dug a big pit out in the uh school yard and uh, he's filled it full of gasoline and we'll be entering
[5972.72] Jack: Winner gets dinner
[5976.64] Tony: Not sanding the circle shouting flight flight flight
[5983.52] Jack: So he's such a dad
[5985.92] Jack: Paul would be proud
[5988.56] Jack: um
[5990.0] Jack: Only if you have the password for the port and uh pick up unit
[5997.68] Jack: Sorry, i'm talking to frank
[6000.88] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: Uh, what is what do you think though paul? Can you beat bani?
[6006.4] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: Um
[6010.56] Thomas: I have no clue. Um
[6016.24] Thomas: Cheeky it's got foul mouth
[6020.4] Thomas: I mean, um
[6022.4] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: Oh, would you like to would you like to challenge bani in the race?
[6026.32] Thomas: Of course, I love racing. Um, I'd love to challenge anyone
[6031.04] Thomas: Um, but yeah, it'd be um, definitely an interesting race. Um
[6036.64] Thomas: Yeah, it'd be maybe we could do a pay-per-view, you know like
[6042.08] NJ: Will you all stop trying to monetize thomas
[6044.8] Jack: I know
[6045.92] Jack: Only like one step away from oiling him up and throwing him into a ring
[6051.04] Jack: Just like to point that out
[6056.24] Thomas: I think we'll be very interested watch the bruise together. Are we talking about a race or are we talking about the fuck?
[6068.64] Tony: I would love to do a race. Yeah, that's what we're talking about
[6072.4] Thomas: But not a bike
[6074.4] Tony: No, a race would be called pay-per-view race that I think that are drawing some money, you know
[6080.64] Andy: Oh, definitely. I i'd watch it
[6083.84] Jack: I'd love i'd love danny to be listening to this and him be like
[6089.44] Jack: You what you know
[6092.16] Jack: Jobs his ipad
[6095.36] Jack: I think he's in bed by now because
[6098.72] Tony: Can anyone hit him up and see who he's about
[6102.4] Jack: I ain't got his phone number
[6104.4] Tony: Someone i've got lessons. Yeah, i've been with him
[6107.92] Jack: Someone's better get him on too. Like which dickheads have let's drone out like dissing you again
[6114.8] Jack: Because you refuse to come on the show
[6117.84] Tony: He's been on a couple of times. He has it. Yeah, he comes on he's just like
[6122.72] Tony: And they're like what?
[6124.4] Tony: All I can say is to these young lads is like when they stay in school
[6130.0] Jack: Talk to bad. Well, that was the our age
[6133.84] Jack: Yeah, don't listen to tony. It's a miracle. We still got all his teeth
[6139.28] Tony: I'm the like the youngest looking here. Look at all you lot. Let's go through them and
[6150.48] Andy: I started flying at seven right and it was
[6154.4] Andy: A year ago
[6157.68] Andy: No, it was like 25 years ago 26 years ago
[6160.96] Andy: And it was really easy to pick up and as i've got older it I found it just really
[6166.88] Andy: Your reactions change. So I would say to anyone that was young doing this. Enjoy it. Well you can because
[6174.8] Jack: Oh my god, man, he's literally cashing his pension
[6178.02] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: You
[6189.78] Tony: I'm saying enjoy it because I wish I could fly like that
[6201.14] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: Because everything gary gary can fly
[6204.1] Carlos 'Carlito' Costa: Yeah, and he's he's our age
[6206.42] Andy: So, I don't think it's like uh, it's just it's just my core excuse isn't it for being rubbish at flying that's because
[6214.9] NJ: It's life in the old boys yet do you
[6219.22] Jack: You know how to like set the time on the microwave
[6223.3] Jack: Set the time on the microwave. Yeah, that's that's a like a sort of
[6227.62] Jack: like yeah criteria for like
[6230.5] Andy: Okay
[6232.5] Andy: I do struggle if i'm honest. Sometimes I it goes for too long
[6238.5] Jack: Do you ever try and get bbc3 or the microwave?
[6243.38] Jack: Like that is a proper old do you get the remote controls mixed? Well, you know what? I don't even have I don't get
[6250.66] Tony: I don't even have a tv. This is this is like the best tree
[6255.38] Tony: Oh
[6260.82] Andy: Anyone passes me a tv remote. I don't know how to work. Honestly
[6267.22] Andy: Modern though, I just watch youtube and online. I don't watch tv. So it's not too modern if that you're modern. Yes
[6275.22] Jack: Yeah, you're still with the kids like youtube's still cool
[6278.74] Andy: Yeah, absolutely. That's all I watch and let's throw it out. Of course. Yeah
[6284.5] Jack: Oh, no, only because we forced you on here
[6289.7] Jack: I was going I was going to fvv because my eyes got too bad for line of sight
[6296.34] Jack: Age is a beast. Yeah, it is. It's a thing. My hearing's going i can't hear the um, I can't hear the like echo noise
[6304.26] Jack: stuff like that mosquito noises
[6307.06] Jack: i'm devastated
[6309.3] Jack: I feel oh
[6311.54] Jack: Is my hearing screwed how how's your hearing sophie alice bexta from like all the monitors
[6319.54] NJ: No one
[6336.5] NJ: I'll give you a serious answer if you want
[6341.54] NJ: A very quick serious answer about musicians hearing if you're a professional musician
[6347.3] NJ: Chances are and I actually have my my hearing
[6351.22] NJ: I've tested quite, you know, I tested quite recently to check and my hearing's actually
[6356.34] NJ: Actually, I would say it's actually slightly above average
[6358.82] NJ: And the reason is i'm very very careful about protecting my hearing and we use molded monitors on stage when we play so
[6366.02] NJ: We're actually probably the only people
[6368.82] NJ: In an arena or in a in a theater or wherever we're performing that have probably got the most ear protection in
[6376.42] NJ: the audience are the ones who's usually
[6379.14] NJ: getting the biggest battering but
[6382.02] Jack: My hearing's pretty good. I still got tinnitus from tony sticking the volume up
[6388.02] Jack: Because he couldn't hear himself on the mix
[6391.3] Jack: So he turned the master up and then realized he wasn't plugged in
[6397.38] Jack: And just plugged in
[6399.86] Jack: Is why i've got tinnitus
[6402.26] Jack: He might write in
[6405.46] Jack: Decade there's one episode where immediately i'm like
[6412.42] Jack: And like I didn't speak to him for a whole 20 minutes man. It's lovely it was
[6419.3] Jack: Absolute cock face
[6422.82] Jack: There goes the editing
[6425.62] NJ: You can swear
[6428.18] NJ: So i'm gonna i'm gonna attempt i'm gonna attempt to wrap up because I think we're approaching the two-hour mark
[6434.02] NJ: Can I just
[6437.86] Jack: He's got a live he used to date ellis. No, I didn't
[6441.94] NJ: Silence but I used to uh
[6444.74] NJ: I used to I used to play a guitar for that's that's context for people who didn't know
[6449.54] Jack: Go off furiously googling about about me and so
[6455.78] Jack: She comes up to you and she says like you never took me out on a date one
[6463.46] Tony: Are you ever gonna come back anyone ever gonna come back
[6468.74] NJ: Let me just finish with a quick question for each of each of the guests david what's the eta on rocket fist?
[6476.26] Windestål: probably
[6478.1] Windestål: two weeks three weeks away for
[6480.82] Windestål: a
