Oh wait. Is that me? Yeah. Yeah [38.45] Jack: Come on tony introduce people [40.61] Frank: mgfbv [42.85] Frank: Which is next to zoe, but maybe not on your screens [47.09] Jack: No, she's next to you and i'm really sure [50.29] Jack: Oh wicked [53.41] Jack: Not this side [56.93] Jack: That's lexie [58.53] Frank: That's the one what [61.01] Frank: Hi lexie [62.53] Frank: Hi, lexie logs mayon. Hi [66.61] Jack: Let's go now [68.29] Frank: fbv princess monica [70.69] Frank: Hi [71.81] Frank: Hey [73.41] Frank: And then uh the usual substance, uh, well rap rap bags andy rc [79.89] Jack: I don't think he's a rap bag [82.69] Jack: Frank slash hello [85.89] Jack: andrew andrew slash frank [88.53] Jack: Yeah [91.33] Jack: Ten thousand [93.97] Jack: I love that man [96.13] Andy: Who made ten thousand? What was that? david winnestall? [100.93] Frank: Yeah, a hundred thousand. Yeah 10,000 hundred. I don't know [105.81] Frank: Just jack yeah bsm and bsm web are in a chat [112.11] Frank: Hello to bsm web [113.87] Frank: So anyway, thanks guys for the morning for them all coming on [117.95] Frank: And so we've got a really big group today as you can see [122.27] Frank: Anyone that's watching on youtube if you're listening to the podcast then you'll hear i'm sure over the course of this hour [128.59] Frank: That there's a lot of people in this chat. So, you know [131.79] Frank: We'll try and take it slow so that everyone [134.43] Frank: Gets to work out what's going on because I think is this the largest group we've ever had on here? [141.15] Frank: I think maybe we might have done one or two more one of the one of the largest groups [146.67] Frank: So this is one. This is quite a big rig though [149.55] Jack: Well, I'd just like to point out guys size doesn't matter. It's what you do with it [154.91] Jack: You know just wanted to [157.07] Zoe: I tend to I tend to disagree guys. I think size matters greatly [162.67] Zoe: That makes a big difference [166.75] Frank: Let's talk about that x size [168.75] Frank: Yeah [170.03] Frank: Yeah, there's a good. Yeah, that is a great lead. So can we talk about x well? [175.07] Zoe: So [177.07] Zoe: Yeah, this is a an x class quad up here. Um [181.31] Zoe: Ow, I just hit myself in the head with it [184.27] Zoe: One of the most amazing machines that i've had the actual privilege of flying and getting to work on [190.75] Zoe: over the last year i've had [192.99] Zoe: Escs developed the first in the world's first b-rotor. Um, the bl heli s 80 amps [199.55] Zoe: Um, so you have active braking d shot multi shot all the great features you come to know and expect on a miniquad [206.03] Zoe: Just in a much bigger size [208.67] Zoe: Same thing with custom motors. These are actually the x class on drone motors. Um, right now i'm holding what's kind of called our stock class setup [215.71] Zoe: Um, you can pound full throttle on this machine and you won't have to worry about components burning out on it [221.07] Zoe: Wow [222.19] Zoe: It's it's kind of rated for about 70 to 80 miles an hour to kind of fall within the ama's guidelines [228.35] Zoe: um [230.11] Zoe: The other machine I have is uh, this one [233.71] Zoe: What flight controller is not zoe? What flight controller is it? Uh, just an f3 b-rotor f3 nothing special [239.95] Zoe: Um, yeah, so it's running basically all the same kind of miniquad parts [244.59] Zoe: As you can see the pod of it is basically like a miniquad and you're just plopped it onto a much bigger frame [252.03] Zoe: um [253.07] Andy: And are they really difficult to tune because obviously it's not what a flight like controlling [260.03] Zoe: So ken lou and um colby like colby kurtola right now sftv. He's the best tuner of these machines. Um [268.19] Zoe: But as a group we've really had to kind of figure out how to tune them because the tuning is completely different on the scale [274.43] Zoe: Of machine than a miniquad [276.03] Zoe: So like you think like adding d would be helpful [278.99] Zoe: But if you add too much d it introduces a weird wobble. It actually causes the machine to like [284.27] Zoe: fly out of control [286.19] Zoe: um [286.75] Zoe: And so like for p's for example [288.67] Zoe: You have to raise the p by like twice is what you would have for miniquad [292.11] Zoe: You have to have your eyes by half. You have to have your d's by half [296.11] Zoe: you have to change like the filtering and the miniquad or filtering on the flight controller to kind of handle some of the [304.03] Zoe: Vibrations that are different on this machine versus the miniquad [306.99] Andy: So is that is is the idea of it being big so that it's more of a spectacle for spectators [314.19] Andy: Yeah, I mean well [316.67] Zoe: What well my biggest issue with uh drone racing in general put this down it's heavy. Um [322.75] Zoe: My biggest problem with drone racing has been one miniquads are not interesting to like look at [329.47] Zoe: Two the races are really short [331.39] Zoe: Like you have like a couple minutes and you're down and you have to reset everything [334.75] Zoe: So from a spectator point of view [336.99] Zoe: The action starts and then it ends [339.39] Zoe: Yeah, then you have to wait and start and end so it's not very entertaining and then the size of these things [344.11] Zoe: Like you can't visually track a miniquad very easily around the course [348.75] Zoe: So it's really hard for [350.75] Zoe: Yeah [351.71] Lexie: That's why they really hard for us to get lots of and lots of leds [355.63] Lexie: I've been in korea for the last race and they wanted us to have at least 24 [361.31] Lexie: 24 right [362.75] Zoe: Even when you have like 24 leds onto it. It still looks like a dot when it's flying through the course [368.11] Lexie: It looked like a christmas tree. Yeah [371.15] Zoe: Well, and so that's the biggest thing is I can't talk to what i'm doing next on the x-class projects [376.67] Zoe: But we're trying to move away from the christmas tree look because that's not the future of drone racing. That was crazy [384.67] Zoe: You can get good at it. Yeah, so [386.91] Zoe: Yeah, well that's the other thing is sponsors like to make drone racing a sponsorable sport [393.31] Zoe: It has to be something that spectators like it has to be something that the pilots enjoy flying [398.19] Zoe: And also has to be something that the sponsors can actually put their advertisements on [403.31] Zoe: And miniquad racing is just a little [408.75] Zoe: It's hard to do that and not saying you can't do that [410.91] Andy: It's just hard to do that. I think as well like if this was to become more mainstream [415.73] Andy: We need a way to [418.05] Andy: Have it so that cameras can follow a bit like if you watch formula one you see on board stuff, but you see [424.77] Zoe: You see it on the outside on the same note. Um [429.25] Zoe: Kind of a big announcement, I guess you'll be seeing footage coming out of it this weekend [432.85] Zoe: But uh x-class is taking these drones to a traditional automotive racing track [438.21] Zoe: Wow, so where cars and stuff have gone on we've done tests on tracks before and currently the x-class quads [444.85] Zoe: Are running faster times on car tracks and the fastest car on those tracks. Wow [451.25] Zoe: so [452.61] Zoe: And that's kind of where it really needs to go into the spectator realm is to put these machines on traditional tracks [458.45] Zoe: where they're open where spectators can visually see what's going on [462.85] Zoe: and [464.05] Zoe: That is really kind of the biggest thing when spectators can visually understand what's happening [469.33] Zoe: And you can incorporate it into a way where it's always visually entertaining. It's really good. It works really well [475.49] Andy: Well, we like to see these videos that are coming up will be on your channel specifically [480.69] Zoe: Uh x-class has its own youtube page [483.09] Zoe: I know colby will have his own videos out like if you go to x-class dot racing you'll see the pilots there listed [489.09] Zoe: If you follow any of those pilots, they come out their own videos of these races and events and this weekend [495.17] Zoe: We're gonna we're expecting to have the pro lineup of the local area. We're having colby cratola [501.09] Zoe: shane [502.61] Zoe: shane treweak like humbolt 710 [505.57] Zoe: myself john glacer [508.53] Zoe: Like some of these guys with the fastest rigs that go above 100 miles an hour on a track that allow them to go [514.93] Zoe: full speed [516.77] Zoe: so [518.45] Zoe: It's it's it's gonna definitely change things and it's definitely a new direction for drone racing [524.53] Andy: Are you tempted to try one with a 3d setup? [528.69] Zoe: I [530.13] Zoe: Yes [531.17] Zoe: Yes, uh technically it's totally feasible. Um and drew from the chat says what speeds do x-class hit? [539.25] Zoe: Uh right now we currently have our fastest machine clocked in at 130 miles an hour [544.45] Frank: That's why you don't want to get hit in the face by one of them [547.81] Zoe: No, that's crazy [549.33] Zoe: No, and that's actually honestly my biggest concern is safety with these machines like we're entering into a realm [555.73] Zoe: Where these machines are no longer small kind of toys. They are [560.19] Zoe: Legitimate machines that have to be taken seriously [563.97] Zoe: um, so that's [566.45] Zoe: That's a whole other thing [568.29] Lexie: The whole other thing is how will you transport transport it? [571.65] Lexie: I mean it's a pain in private places to transport many quads now on the airport [577.41] Lexie: how with the [582.77] Zoe: Backpack is a great question [592.45] Zoe: Like the arms on them right now most of the quads are not transportable [596.77] Zoe: Yeah, but this christmas I actually should say in a couple weeks [599.57] Zoe: There's gonna be a frame design coming out from team disonian that should allow you to more or less transport the quad [605.81] Zoe: And the battery technology that i've been pushing with tattoo for instance [610.21] Zoe: Uh, okay, this is a hundred plus hundred watt hour battery [613.33] Zoe: Like I have a problem taking this battery on a plane because it's yeah because some of the [622.53] Zoe: This is true it also does look nefarious but [627.17] Jack: Things that that looks like one of them I can't say because [631.57] Jack: Andrew will mute me the other thing [635.25] Jack: Is it looks like a beer bomb? [638.45] Zoe: It is it is yeah [640.85] Zoe: But it's actually worse when you go to an airport and you have like 20 batteries in your bag [646.13] Zoe: And if you have them all stacked neatly [648.69] Zoe: To the tsa it looks like you have a shielded section of your back because their scanners cannot see anywhere through the battery [657.17] Zoe: So nine times out of ten if you do not take your batteries out of your bag when you're going through tsa [663.09] Zoe: Or they're not scattered out enough [665.09] Zoe: They're going to pull you aside to go through your batteries to figure out what the hell they are [670.05] Zoe: Um, so just like a battery tip if you're going through tsa always dump your batteries out like in their own tray [676.69] Zoe: And it tends to go through a lot easier [679.81] Zoe: But with that battery technology taking these things to the airport is a big issue [683.65] Zoe: Like i've had a 200 battery confiscated from me by the tsa while trying to do that [689.41] Zoe: The solution is going to a hybrid battery solution instead of having giant single [696.53] Zoe: Packaged batteries will have hopefully [699.41] Zoe: Selled batteries so you have like four cell variants that are under 100 watt hours [704.21] Zoe: The idea is you put them together in series to have four cell eight cell or twelve cell [710.13] Zoe: And it'll allow you to essentially dissemble the battery take it through the airport on top of that if you damage part of your battery [718.13] Zoe: You can replace it [719.81] Zoe: So that's there's a lot of stuff [722.13] Zoe: That's trying to be done to make these giant machines portable and more usable and cheaper [728.85] Frank: And you're running is on them or 10s or uh, this is the eight cell prototype [734.45] Zoe: um [735.89] Zoe: This is the highest density battery cell that tap two makes right now [742.05] Zoe: And uh, it's the most dense battery that we could come up with under a current [747.33] Zoe: battery technology [749.57] Frank: How many minutes thought do you get? [752.13] Zoe: About the same as a mini quad [754.69] Zoe: Like we're trying to like the thing with it is like I me in particular [758.53] Zoe: I've been trying to scale everything correctly [760.69] Zoe: So like the the amount of juice is going to take the amount of flight time it's going to take [764.93] Zoe: Uh the battery weight to the ratio of the frame to the ratio of the motors and everything else like [771.01] Zoe: All that stuff i've been trying to scale out really well [774.21] Zoe: The cool thing is is on the giant class frames [777.33] Zoe: I've been able to reduce the amount that the frame weighs compared to the power system [782.51] Zoe: drastically [783.65] Zoe: So right now my machine is basically just a flying battery with [788.51] Zoe: electronics [789.73] Zoe: Like I have two pounds of motors to a half a pound frame [797.09] Jack: It's pretty ridiculous [799.65] Jack: So, you know, you said like you can I've got two questions, you know, you said you could swap ones out [805.81] Jack: You know if your battery did get damaged [808.29] Jack: You'd need to know the charge cycles because they would [812.13] Jack: It wouldn't be uh balance those batteries would work together [815.73] Zoe: Yeah, well x class right now a lot of pilots are marking their batteries for how many uses they've had [820.37] Zoe: because one of the biggest things is like [823.33] Zoe: Especially when these batteries a lot of them that we've been using in the past. Uh, the bigger ones [829.09] Zoe: They take like they're made for 18 with the [833.01] Jack: Sorry, i'm can't can't concentrate when you wave that in my face [837.09] Zoe: Okay, how about this i'll hold it like that [842.53] Jack: I'm really trying. Sorry, you're the only one that understands me [846.93] Lexie: Um, I don't get it. I mean i'm too lazy for that like who's marking it like hey one what's fine [853.89] Jack: look [855.49] Jack: Drone enthusiastic, you know what I mean? We understand what pid stands for [860.61] Jack: You know tony we're still trying to tony that [864.85] Jack: Um [866.13] Jack: also, if you're concerned about um [868.53] Jack: Safety of people watching the race have you thought about putting them in cages instead of putting drones in the cage? [874.69] Zoe: This has actually been my biggest contention. I'm kind of revealing a bit like hamster balls [880.05] Jack: You could just stick members of public in hamster balls [882.45] Frank: Well, this is this is literally where it's like [884.85] Lexie: I wish from nationals people were in the cage and yeah weren't [889.33] Lexie: And that was pretty creepy [891.73] Jack: Put some black electrical tape on tony's nipples. He'll be well into it [896.93] Zoe: But that is the biggest question because like all the other issues like what kind of cage do you need? [901.81] Zoe: That's going to be able to stand the hit from one of these machines going full throttle [905.89] Zoe: I mean you have like [907.49] Zoe: 10 pounds of weight that's traveling on a hundred miles an hour [911.41] Zoe: And it's spread out over three feet [914.61] Zoe: like that [915.81] Zoe: Like by the time it hits a traditional net that thing is going to make the net and everything around it travel like a good 10 feet [922.53] Zoe: right [923.65] Zoe: So the biggest thing is one design the courses to where if these drones fail [928.69] Zoe: They fail in a way that they will not fail towards the crowds [932.61] Zoe: It's like every x-class race has done it in a way to where the machines are never aimed towards people [939.01] Zoe: Much like a weapon you never aim these things towards people. It's just not not cool [945.25] Zoe: And uh [946.53] Zoe: The idea though is if you're running parallel with the crowd if the machine is failing and it's going in this direction [952.29] Zoe: It's not going to just randomly go out into the crowd [955.49] Zoe: And we're also flying above a strict 15-foot ceiling at some of these events [959.57] Zoe: We're really trying to implement a 15-foot ceiling because at these tracks. There's at least a 15-foot fence if not higher [966.93] Zoe: so [968.21] Zoe: Around these corners [969.41] Zoe: There's a bit of protection for the audience and the other big thing is that with traditional automotive racing people get hurt [976.85] Zoe: Like the crowd it's almost like an acceptable risk that eventually someone's going to get a tire in the face [982.85] Zoe: And that's a weird way to put it [985.33] Zoe: but it's still a lot safer than traditional racing and [989.41] Zoe: If it's done right that incident where someone would get hurt by one of these machines might be once every 10 years [996.13] Zoe: versus once every month, you know [998.61] Zoe: Like comparatively to regular racing and if it's done right and done safely [1003.73] Zoe: We can create a sport an automotive sport [1006.93] Zoe: That has all the excitement and fun of traditional automotive racing [1011.89] Zoe: Without a lot of the risk a lot of the risk to the crowd a lot of the personal risks to the riders and pilots and drivers [1017.97] Zoe: the the just inherent risk of the machines themselves like [1021.81] Zoe: There there's a lot that drone racing in general makes super appealing [1026.85] Zoe: That still appeals when you scale it up [1030.21] Zoe: And that's that's why I think it's the future. It's definitely going to be an interesting [1035.41] Zoe: Pathway, like the x-class group they they're you know, an ama sanction chapter. We work with the ama [1041.09] Zoe: We also work with the uas safety team [1043.81] Zoe: From the faa [1045.49] Zoe: We take in a lot of feedback from a lot of different places try to figure out how we can navigate safely and make it [1052.13] Zoe: You know a welcoming sport not something that you know is going to freak people out [1056.93] Zoe: And not something that's going to you know [1059.25] Zoe: Cost a lot of issues and like they're saying insurance is one of the biggest thing [1064.93] Zoe: The ama just released commercial insurance, which would be something that could very well cover these kind of machines at tracks [1072.21] Zoe: Um, and the other big thing is that drone racing do we really need to have these things netted? [1077.89] Zoe: If you're doing it at like a pro level and at a level that is, you know taking safety seriously [1084.13] Zoe: Do these machines seriously have to be netted like having and this is a whole different cultural thing because [1091.33] Zoe: Netting the quads gives the public a perception that these things should not be flying with them and around them [1098.05] Windestål: Angelou [1105.97] Zoe: Angelou come here [1110.37] Zoe: It's angela from ftv racing mexico everybody [1117.73] Zoe: So she she's just around town for a couple days while she's traveling around to the united states [1123.81] Zoe: and [1125.65] Zoe: Yeah, so she made a pit stop here anyways [1128.45] Zoe: Getting back to the cultural thing. I really think drone racing has to be something that's accepted into the wider like [1135.25] Zoe: Allowed to have public not have a net between it [1138.37] Zoe: And giant drone racing is kind of that weird shield where if we can get this done, right? [1144.77] Zoe: It'll allow all the mini quad racing to start doing events without nets [1148.61] Zoe: It'll help open up the air space for people to be more comfortable with drones delivering packages [1155.25] Zoe: It'll kind of help push the culture of drones [1158.77] Zoe: forward [1159.89] Zoe: um, at least in my opinion [1161.97] Jack: Yeah [1162.93] Jack: Agreed. Lexi. What were you gonna say? [1168.13] Lexie: Net saved my life two times already. So i'm all about the nets [1177.49] Lexie: We can do all this stuff [1178.61] Lexie: But sometimes esc is burning or someone hit us or we hit the gate or there was a wind or something else happened [1185.17] Lexie: And then everything is going towards the crowd. So when we were just in the crowd of pilots sitting there [1191.89] Lexie: uh [1193.17] Lexie: It actually saved us because the quad was just going straight to us to the group. So without a net I wouldn't freaking go there [1200.21] Lexie: I mean, um, I saw what what the quad can do and how it's almost padded all the nets [1206.13] Zoe: Well, that's the thing with the tracks is that spectators have like a nice area where they can be protected completely from the machines [1213.81] Zoe: like [1214.69] Zoe: There the the vents were talking about the 15 foot like, um fence [1220.05] Zoe: There's seating below that fence that will protect them as it goes if it's even a problem [1226.93] Zoe: Um, but yeah, I know you're totally right [1228.45] Zoe: They're the safety of these things is definitely be considered and one of the things that I want to see [1232.77] Zoe: Is the reverse net thing happening? [1234.85] Zoe: I want to put the audience in the middle of the stadium [1237.73] Zoe: And have these drones flying around the outside where the seating is, you know, the coliseum style [1243.57] Zoe: like [1244.85] Zoe: That that's that's my that's personally my personal thing because I think it it could be a lot safer [1250.05] Zoe: One because if you have the machines flying on the outer rim of the circle if they fail [1255.17] Zoe: Inherently they're going to go towards the outer end of the circle not towards the crowd [1259.81] Zoe: Um, and that's another thing where if you can net the crowd [1262.29] Zoe: It makes it easier to net the crowd because they're in the circle. You don't have to net the entire outside of the stadium [1267.57] Zoe: and [1268.61] Zoe: Yeah, I I think it's I think it's really doable especially is this kind of funny the rodeo stadiums around america [1275.89] Zoe: They're wood and concrete [1277.17] Zoe: So they have really good rf [1279.25] Zoe: And they have the perfect environment to race these machines around if you have the drone or the people in the center [1285.33] Zoe: And the drones on the outside of it [1288.29] Zoe: Good idea [1289.49] Frank: What what are you girls running at the moment? [1292.61] Frank: Can I can I ask you each individually? [1295.17] Frank: um [1296.21] Frank: What fc you're running what? [1298.69] Frank: um [1299.97] Frank: If you'll you guys are spotted as well. We've just been talking about the x-class. Um, I believe [1306.83] Frank: Monika you've been flying like a three inch recently [1310.69] Frank: So yeah, like your go-to [1313.57] Frank: frame and quad at the moment [1315.65] Lexie: um [1316.69] Lexie: Well on my tree inch. I basically just set my um gaprc the mx3 version sparrow version [1324.21] Lexie: and um [1325.81] Lexie: I [1327.25] Lexie: I have the uh, how do you call it? Um, my fc is still the same one i've been using [1333.65] Lexie: Um the stack from fly tower. I still love it because it's very very small and [1339.97] Lexie: because the sparrow is [1342.21] Lexie: Also very tight it's actually [1345.23] Lexie: Perfect thing to put in it because the perfect fc in my eyes [1352.37] Andy: The fly tower stuff is really good. I like it. I run it in my [1357.01] Andy: Micros as well. It's really good. Well, i'd be interested to know what like [1362.45] Andy: Your opinion is like the dip. Have you tried race flight and kiss? [1366.93] Andy: and and that that goes for everyone I guess as well because I think [1371.41] Andy: You know, there's um, there's definitely a lot of big opinions on which is the best and uh, so i'd be interested to [1377.73] Andy: To hear your guy's opinion on it [1380.21] Andy: No, I haven't tried it. Yeah, haven't tried it. Yeah, it's more of an it's more of an american thing. I think right. Yeah [1386.45] Andy: Yeah [1387.41] Lexie: Yeah, it's yeah. I mean in europe. It's indeed a little bit less. I don't know why maybe [1394.77] Frank: But I love it. I love it for my freestyle quad. It's not great [1399.09] Frank: That's just me i'm i'm a bit weird like that [1403.01] Frank: What are you uh, what are you running it uh mg fpv [1407.17] MG: Um right now i've got like new frame if i've either [1413.25] MG: And i'm running on [1415.81] MG: furious company [1418.13] MG: with 20, um [1420.11] MG: speedics [1421.81] MG: Yeah, they're quite good. Some old motors my boyfriend gave me them because [1426.45] MG: I've got different ones x nova, but I decided to put them so emacs [1431.17] MG: 2205 200 [1433.57] MG: no, sorry, 2600 kv [1436.69] MG: and actually I like it but I was flying maybe like two or three days and I [1443.41] MG: It wasn't really hard crash. So I broke the arm. So I don't know what to say about frame actually [1450.69] MG: I was thinking could be good but [1453.09] MG: This is deep prototype. So maybe they will change something. I don't know. So yeah, so this is my main quad [1459.89] MG: Another one. It's my franken club [1463.89] MG: Let's say it's like second one. It's like old frame. This is [1470.77] MG: Zmr, I think [1472.77] Andy: If I am not right. No can't be I like I like how she said zedema and not zm. Oh [1480.29] Andy: Stop it. I like the way she talks. No, no, I do. That's what i'm saying zedema. She said zedema. That's the correct [1489.09] MG: Yeah, so it's I don't know what camera I have remember that is the woman that me and tony mutually love [1496.21] Andy: So be nice to her right. I am being nice [1498.85] Andy: I'm saying zedema is the right thing to say. I like it me and tony argue over her all the time [1505.97] Frank: Out [1510.61] Frank: Rudely interrupted magnum. What were you saying? [1515.49] MG: What do you have on it on this quad I have also in my motors [1521.33] MG: And this is [1523.49] MG: I can't remember I think [1526.69] MG: 2500 kv, but i'm not sure [1529.41] MG: And i've got i'm running as well on the gap rc props. I don't know guys [1536.37] MG: Have you tried them or something monica? We haven't tried them. No monica. I haven't tried them either [1542.93] MG: All right, I can say [1545.33] MG: For me, they are good and they have really good price as well. So [1549.33] Frank: What what price are they? [1551.57] MG: 50 by 40 [1554.29] Frank: Yeah, what price are they? [1556.45] MG: What practice yeah, I think [1560.69] MG: Oh my god, 10 pairs. It will be like 10 pound or something like that. Oh, that's really good [1566.85] Andy: Yeah, they are good. Actually they are very similar to the rotor geeks props [1572.37] MG: From the from the pitch. Yeah, the hq props. Sorry. Yeah. Yeah, and some of the people was thinking this is like so props [1580.69] Andy: I have to say I have to say to be far all of these setups are better than anything that i've got [1589.65] Andy: I'm feeling embarrassed because yeah, those are really nice components [1593.81] MG: Yeah, and i've got also this small [1596.85] MG: quad look at that gap rca frame human bird and [1603.31] MG: 1103 motors [1605.63] MG: Six amps escs run cam which I really love it. This is really cute camera [1612.91] MG: I think this is a emacs photo. Yeah [1616.59] Andy: Yeah, I think that's it. What prop size is that? Sorry. Is it two inch? Oh my god two inch two inch. Yeah [1623.87] MG: But I think I can run on the bigger ones [1626.99] Frank: Yeah [1628.27] MG: This is enough space. So yeah, are you running beta flight on them? Yeah [1633.15] Frank: Okay, do you are you the kind of person who finds a nice tune finds a nice [1641.15] Frank: Set up and just leaves it or do if they release another this is better [1645.31] Frank: This is better. Do you change straight away and then retune all your quads or do you just leave it? [1652.91] Frank: What you like [1655.55] MG: I think I would just leave it like that. Yeah, I think that's the best way [1660.03] Andy: It's interesting, isn't it because we've gone from like the axe class quad there like which is huge [1665.63] Andy: So then we've got like a little two inch quad. I think they're all relevant though. I think on the hobby side [1671.79] Andy: Um, the the smaller ones are better because they are more safe [1676.03] Andy: But then for a spectator point of view the bigger ones are better. So there's uh, [1681.31] Frank: Zoe leaves and it's always hot there. So it's nice [1686.03] Frank: Here we have to fly indoors with our tiny little [1690.19] Zoe: I don't know what's raining right now [1696.19] Jack: Would you like a i've got a spare quad here if you've broken arm, would you like it wait that's mine [1703.63] Jack: No, you're not [1706.75] Jack: Really I found it [1708.75] Frank: Um [1711.79] Frank: That's my five s fun quad [1715.63] Frank: magda, uh [1717.31] Frank: Super flip in the chat was asking. Uh, if you've [1720.99] Frank: Got a a whoop since your one-way loop [1724.35] MG: Yeah [1728.19] MG: What's a one-way loop [1731.07] MG: The song when you fly it and it doesn't come back over over the water [1739.47] MG: Actually [1741.47] MG: Yeah [1743.95] MG: But you've been flying have you got another one since you've been flying it yeah, i've got actually i've got one from [1750.91] MG: Nick rusen. He sent me one for free from state [1754.99] MG: So I was so so happy when I received the message from him [1758.19] MG: He said like he he is not flying with this loop and he don't need it. So he decided to give it to me because [1764.67] MG: He was thinking I needed so I was like, oh my god, that was [1768.75] MG: Oh my god, I really when I received this message [1772.11] MG: I completely don't know what to say to him. I was like really [1776.43] Frank: This is this is how good the fpv [1779.15] Frank: I think this is not just a girl thing. I think it's like a an fpv thing [1784.27] Frank: Yeah, I mean when I have not just serena you're just like yes jess [1787.71] Lexie: Well, it's not [1792.19] Frank: Yeah, I mean i've put out posts saying i've broke something and uh my [1796.83] Frank: Correct. Yeah, you're appreciating it. Yeah, I appreciate it [1804.35] Frank: What about what about you lexie, I mean you're on your secret mission in italy at the moment [1808.43] Frank: But you're allowed to talk about what you're flying there [1811.23] Lexie: Um what i'm flying here all the cars are in the car. I'm sorry [1818.03] Lexie: Sorry, but i'm [1820.91] Lexie: I'm on a secret mission. Uh, no, i'm [1829.31] Lexie: Find a demoner c4e, uh, I have twins demoner c4e, uh, this is the frame [1834.67] Lexie: I'm also flying on demoner cfc demoner c pdb [1838.67] Lexie: uh, i'm having gun plant to 205 [1842.27] Lexie: Motors, uh, the new ones the [1845.85] Lexie: 2650 the one with a violet bottom [1848.99] Lexie: Uh with the maverick's esc's, uh swift two camera because i'm in love with swift two camera [1855.95] Lexie: uh also using the unify and [1858.99] Lexie: Our xsr since they've made an update that and I can use my lua script again [1866.67] Lexie: About the lua script guys [1871.47] Lexie: Which one [1872.83] Lexie: No, but uh finishing about the quads [1874.91] Lexie: I also have a freestyle quad with me, uh, which is the egotrift black pearl where of kiss fc [1880.19] Lexie: the pdb from [1881.71] Lexie: Matak I think and tattoo [1884.83] Lexie: Uh motors and egotrift dsc's [1889.07] Jack: Kissed girl. Yes [1893.63] Frank: What you can't kiss her jack, but no [1899.39] Jack: Look [1900.43] Jack: Yes [1901.55] Jack: Kiss sway for words when i'm this race shite bollocks [1905.95] Jack: Have you got that shirt yet jack? No, I will no I spoke to [1911.55] Jack: I've been i've been a bit ill lately, but soon he like found the font for me. So i'm doing it. So happy [1918.59] Lexie: Yeah, and guys don't worry the secret mission will be on the youtube. So [1924.83] Lexie: I want answers [1927.39] Frank: Yeah [1930.03] Frank: I just watched your um fpv freestyling. Um [1933.55] Frank: While you were flying and walking at the same time. I I can't even stand up. So I was very impressed [1940.35] Lexie: I think that's my trick. I'm also orbiting them around myself and [1944.99] Frank: I know it was great [1947.15] MG: Thank you [1949.15] Frank: And i'm sorry and i'm really jealous that um, because you guys have dived the chimney [1955.55] Lexie: Where is that chimney in Slovenia? Uh, if you'll type on google, um [1960.91] Lexie: Tallest chimney in europe. It will just pop up with google maps. I just want to go there before we get banned [1967.87] Lexie: Also it there's a map on roto riot. Uh, I may share it later. Uh, it's called the legacy bando map [1974.99] Lexie: I don't know why they called it with my name [1977.71] Lexie: But that was my idea to make a map with all these spots around the world. That's a good idea with the bandos [1984.19] Lexie: Place for diving and all that kind of stuff. It has 2 000 views already [1988.11] Lexie: And i'm posting it constantly somewhat [1991.31] Lexie: Just for people to add spots around the world, which is really cool [1995.23] Lexie: So there is this chimney actually mapped and it's called Lexi's chimney [2002.03] Lexie: I just added like two spots there and all of the rest is just fpv people because we help each other and this is cool [2008.67] Frank: Yeah, it is amazingly big chimney and oh [2013.23] Frank: But I I would love to take a trip and just dive that one battery. It's really awesome [2020.83] Frank: I love to watch a new video, but I was like I want to go there [2025.95] Lexie: Yeah, just type highest chimney in europe on google. It's it's really popping up with google maps. So [2032.03] Frank: It's fine. Right. That's where we're going ldo die out [2035.55] Jack: We need to link to the map [2038.59] Jack: Maybe [2039.95] Lexie: Oh, i'll shoot i'll find the link for the map [2043.79] Jack: And so he's having conversations in the chat about [2047.95] Jack: People are like, I don't know how your head copes with flying 3d [2051.63] Jack: The voodoo magic people aren't about burning her because she's a witch [2058.03] Jack: I didn't I didn't say that no one said that in the chat, but I wanted to say that to you [2063.15] Jack: Because I've done nothing more [2066.11] Zoe: I'm sure some people in the community right now that would love to see me burn [2075.33] Frank: Yes, so um, let's let's let's go on to that now [2080.53] Jack: Now let's take the opportunity someone make hbi admin [2085.17] Frank: so [2086.93] MG: Do you want? [2089.09] MG: Again, I will be back [2096.29] Frank: Okay, well mike is going off and getting a second drink [2102.45] Frank: That uh gave a bit of background because andy andy is [2106.75] Frank: Innocently sitting in the corner not knowing anything about what's going on. I want to know what's going on. Yeah, what's that? What's the drama? [2113.41] Frank: Yeah [2114.69] Zoe: Okay, I feel I feel like it has to start with a bit of a bit of background to leading up to my posts. Um [2123.25] Zoe: Sally french had asked drl for comment about them holding, uh, their championship league at in saudi arabia [2132.69] Zoe: And asked them, you know a few questions about safety of female competitors how female competitors would be, you know added into the whole [2141.39] Zoe: competition [2143.09] Zoe: And essentially they kind of gave her what I [2146.69] Zoe: Gave her I I saw what I saw was a very bs response [2150.93] Zoe: Depending that she posted a post on the drone girl calm [2155.09] Zoe: outlining the issues [2157.57] Zoe: and [2158.69] Zoe: It really didn't get much attention or acknowledgement. It kind of got attention in the female pilot community [2164.77] Zoe: because there's a lot of female pilots that were kind of aware of it going on and [2169.65] Zoe: And [2172.05] Zoe: But beyond that in the facebook post that sally made on her own page [2175.57] Zoe: It really didn't get any kind of traction. It really didn't go anywhere [2179.01] Zoe: And I I was sitting there. Basically. It was basically monday and tuesday before the post. I was I couldn't sleep [2186.77] Zoe: I was thinking about [2189.09] Zoe: How like it was kind of it was not kind of it was kind of it was messed up that drl [2194.21] Zoe: Was hosting the race where they're hosting it and specifically for [2198.29] Zoe: You know contractual reasons of having a lot of money to be there. I [2203.17] Zoe: can only assume seems and [2206.37] Zoe: and and and [2210.05] Zoe: Just outright me as a queer woman a lot of people don't know this but i'm gay [2215.01] Zoe: and well, not even gay that's a hard way to even describe it, but [2219.01] Zoe: That being said if I was to go to Saudi Arabia, they have laws on the book that would outright kill me [2224.85] Zoe: Now if they even didn't even know that there's still laws on the book meaning i'd have to have a male guardian [2229.57] Zoe: I'd have to cover myself. I'd have to subject myself to their local laws and stuff within that [2235.49] Zoe: And it's very different than the uae. It's very different than dubai and a lot of other middle eastern countries [2241.33] Zoe: Heck even pakistan which a lot of people in the u.s. Consider more backwards than saudi arabia [2247.17] Zoe: It's actually way more progressive [2249.25] Zoe: And forward facing than saudi arabia where they allow women to drive vehicles. They allow women to uncover themselves [2255.49] Zoe: they allow uh [2257.09] Zoe: anybody into their country and [2260.37] Zoe: In an instance one of my best friends uh liza miller [2263.25] Zoe: She took a group of female motorcyclists into pakistan and rode around pakistan with a bunch of badass ladies [2270.05] Zoe: Teaching women there how to ride motorcycles [2273.75] Zoe: But that could happen because the local laws within pakistan allowed that to happen. There wasn't any contradictory information [2280.79] Zoe: And so the issue was and the issue is is that drl's public statement of like we are including female competitors [2287.35] Zoe: We're including female staff. We're going to create this environment [2290.63] Zoe: Is a lot different than the local laws that currently exist within saudi arabia [2296.07] Zoe: Where they don't allow uh female competitors to play against male competitors [2300.55] Zoe: They segregate women in stadiums, which is new before they didn't even allow women into sporting stadiums [2306.63] Zoe: So now women can go into stadiums [2309.03] Zoe: But they cannot be with their family. They cannot they have to be in their own segregated spot [2314.23] Zoe: It is it's progress and I I see that as progress crazy, huh? [2319.35] Zoe: And I would really love to see drl have female competitors in their league competing at this event [2326.55] Zoe: I just don't know how the local laws coming from what I know [2332.39] Zoe: The local laws for that country compared to what drl stating and their contract are two very different things [2339.51] Zoe: And so they say it's not a political problem. It's not about not keeping women out of it [2344.87] Zoe: But when they're hosting it there and they're inherently putting it in a country that is basically a politically charged area [2351.99] Zoe: It becomes a political issue [2354.55] Zoe: And that was what kept me up on tuesday night. I I could not sleep. So I wrote out everything that I [2361.83] Zoe: posted [2363.03] Zoe: I slept on it. I slept really good that night [2366.31] Zoe: because I I'd gotten out that like [2369.67] Zoe: Shitty feeling of like this is wrong and this is bad [2372.55] Zoe: And I waited until the morning to decide whether or not I was going to post it [2376.95] Zoe: And I was like if I don't say something now and if I don't at least bring broach the subject [2383.51] Zoe: Then this is going to continue on like this is going to just concrete itself as being an okay practice within the industry [2391.67] Zoe: We're going to continually allow like, you know [2394.55] Zoe: Some of these countries to basically influence the culture of drone racing in a way [2399.91] Zoe: That could keep women out of it [2402.23] Andy: And specifically what was the response from drl? [2408.39] Zoe: I've talked with nick on the phone recently [2411.19] Zoe: and Nick's response was that you [2414.39] Zoe: Don't get to know how we're going to make it work because you're not a drl pilot [2419.11] Zoe: If you are drl pilot, we can tell you how we're going to make it safe for you [2422.79] Zoe: But because you're not a drl pilot, we will not reveal that information [2426.71] Lexie: Which is but has drl actually talked to you? I mean talking to nick or somewhere someone else [2432.63] Lexie: It's not the same as talking to the organizers. I mean they most probably don't know [2437.43] Zoe: Well, that's the point is that this is what I think happened is that drl signed a contract? [2443.03] Zoe: With saudi that it was kind of open-ended [2446.39] Zoe: Saudi Arabia wanted the race there at least somebody within that country wanted it there. They petitioned to have it there [2453.43] Zoe: and [2454.79] Zoe: They signed the contract that was probably like all competitors or something something that [2459.27] Zoe: Was very loosely worded to allow all their competitors to come in and compete [2463.35] Zoe: But the actual metal to the like the where the metal meets the road of like how that's going to happen [2470.07] Zoe: I don't think they have any [2471.43] Zoe: Fucking clue [2472.71] Zoe: If they did if they really had an idea of how it was going to work and how it was supposed to work [2477.67] Zoe: They would have already told people [2479.67] Zoe: They already would have announced that because that's what it came back to nick [2483.11] Zoe: and this is where the conversation with nick and I ended after [2487.11] Zoe: Going around circles. He cannot answer whether or not I would be subjected to male guardianship system [2492.39] Zoe: He cannot answer whether or not i'd have to cover myself and he cannot answer whether or not i'd be safe [2497.51] Zoe: In a country that has laws on the book to kill jail and discriminate against lgbt people [2504.55] Zoe: Like those are three major questions that he would not answer [2508.39] Jack: They probably didn't think about it. They were like holy shit women are gay [2514.31] Zoe: Well, I mean i've been here since the beginning so it's not like it's a new thing [2519.03] Jack: I mean, you don't you know, you don't run it down people's throats [2523.27] Zoe: No, because it's not something that really should be rammed down people. So it's just a part of who I am, right? [2530.87] Zoe: Actively but in this instance [2533.43] Zoe: DRL did something that kind of really upset me like it really sat really horribly with [2540.47] Jack: the way I saw [2543.19] Jack: That's it they were just like they probably like well [2545.19] Jack: We were surprised a a girl would even want to go will be you know, I mean, it's that sort of complete overlooking [2551.91] Jack: Yeah, I mean if it if I can make it up to you in any way, I will if you need a chaperone a male chaperone [2559.43] Jack: I will lend you tony because [2563.51] Jack: There's no hierarchies very pet like [2567.51] Jack: It's like it's like you own him you're more looking after him [2571.59] Zoe: Yeah, a little stellar fox in the chat says dear [2575.27] Zoe: I don't think dRL has any intention of having female competitors and that's why they aren't showing or sharing how they plan [2581.27] Zoe: On working around this giant issue [2584.87] Jack: Maybe they're you know [2587.51] Zoe: It's just one of the gear the dRL pilots the dRL pilots is gay [2594.47] Zoe: Hashtag [2597.35] Zoe: I I mean, I well, I don't know. There's a bunch of guys. They like to hang out with each other. What are we supposed to think? [2606.07] Zoe: That was a bad joke on a serious topic but realistically that is that that is the the crux of it [2611.91] Zoe: There could be you know [2612.79] Zoe: Someone within the lgbt community within dRL's rings [2616.31] Zoe: And one of the bigger issues is that when you become a dRL pilot? [2620.39] Zoe: And I know this because i've gone through events where dRL pilots have not been allowed to compete at [2625.03] Zoe: So this is the thing dRL pilots held it against me that I was not at events that they were at this year [2630.79] Zoe: Because I was at other pro-level events that they were not allowed to compete in due to their contracts [2636.55] Zoe: on top of that, they're not able to [2640.07] Zoe: Like the biggest issue I have with nyx this is the the conundrum nyx gave me nyx said [2647.03] Zoe: Compete in the simulator [2648.95] Zoe: Get that spot and then when you get that spot and get a contract with us [2653.59] Zoe: Then we can have this discussion [2657.03] Frank: That's a terrible terrible argument, I mean [2661.27] Frank: What's to continue? I mean [2663.27] Frank: Getting to that spot takes a lot of effort and a lot of time [2667.11] Frank: And you can't expect anyone to feel like oh [2671.99] Frank: That seems like a good thing to fight to get into a group of people that don't respect me or want me there [2678.15] Frank: And put the time in to make sure i'm safe from dying [2683.67] Zoe: Like that was my counter argument and he just did not [2687.35] Zoe: It was a stalemate [2688.31] Zoe: And so basically essentially I I had to end the conversation because it started tearing up a little bit [2693.11] Zoe: And there was nothing productive coming from the conversation besides us running in circles [2698.07] Zoe: and that's where we last left it and [2700.95] Zoe: I I I more than anything want to see female pilots competing in saudi arabia [2706.87] Zoe: I think that would create the most social change not for just the drone industry, but for their local like country [2714.87] Zoe: Like that would be such an amazing thing for women in that country to see a female competitor in a brand new sport of the future [2722.71] Zoe: racing against [2724.71] Zoe: other male competitors like that that would just [2727.43] Zoe: It would set a precedent for that country. That would be so [2731.73] Zoe: socially progressive [2733.81] Zoe: That I have to get behind that like that is like the ultimate outcome [2738.05] Zoe: The secondary outcome would be if they can't make that happen dRL [2743.01] Zoe: Make that happen in a way where female competitors are included [2746.29] Zoe: And don't have the same restrictions as their male competitors. I covering themselves or you know a male guardianship [2753.33] Zoe: um [2754.93] Zoe: You know don't host in that country if you can't if you can't have the event in a country where it's going to be inclusive [2760.29] Zoe: To your competitors. Just don't do it there [2763.09] Zoe: It's like, you know, I mean there's there's a million other places they could have had it at [2770.45] Frank: Indeed, but only one of them was paying them that much money [2775.41] Frank: Uh cknd in the chat said how many marriage proposals do you fpv girls receive weekly? [2784.05] Andy: Can I first of all say how many I get zero [2787.65] Lexie: No [2791.65] Lexie: It's a good month one monthly [2797.65] Lexie: That's quite good, I think I'll agree with that one [2802.85] Frank: There seems to be a growing number of people in the chat who are [2807.97] Frank: Fighting to make zoe some sort of political figure including saudi president apparently [2817.49] Zoe: Governments a monarchy and there's no physical way possible for me to be able to help out in that fashion [2825.73] Frank: But yeah, um just to kind of [2828.69] Frank: Get my reading and what i've seen of the dRL posts. Um [2833.81] Frank: Like their responses to it that they've published. Um [2837.57] Frank: It looks like they were making an argument for [2841.89] Frank: when the women are [2844.61] Frank: Visible in other areas of the hobby then we will [2849.81] Frank: Change it [2852.45] Frank: We will make it a level playing field [2854.85] Andy: Um and make those [2864.69] Zoe: Yeah, so one of the things I really wanted to do and i'm still trying to figure out how to do is [2869.57] Zoe: I want to put together a training camp for women [2872.69] Zoe: I want to be able to have a place where a female pilot can come down for a month [2877.17] Zoe: And I can try to take her through [2879.73] Zoe: The challenges of growing her skill [2882.53] Zoe: You know from where she's at even if she doesn't know how to fly to trying to take her to that pro level pilot level [2889.01] Zoe: And over the last year i've had the great experience of teaching people hands-on how to fly and i've gotten [2897.15] Zoe: ridiculously good about pinpointing people's like [2899.81] Zoe: Blocks and how to move them past where they're stuck at [2903.01] Zoe: Figuring out how to get someone flying within the first day [2906.05] Zoe: My current uptick on student rate is 90 percent, you know, 90 of my students are flying within the first day [2913.09] Zoe: I know that if we gave women the opportunity [2917.73] Zoe: To go to a location if they wanted to to just train for a month to get up to that dRL status level [2924.21] Frank: other guys [2930.13] Jack: Pissed off the it's like it's like flying walk at the same time [2938.13] Zoe: Snowboarding like snowboarding at first. There's like no women in it [2941.81] Zoe: Then women started getting into it and it was kind of like their skill level wasn't at the same level as the guys quote unquote [2949.41] Zoe: And then we have this explosion of women entering the scene that are badass snowboarders [2954.53] Zoe: That really kind of took it to more of a pro level [2957.97] Zoe: And I feel like we're really at that stage hopefully at that stage with drone racing [2962.85] Zoe: Where we can go from having? [2965.25] Zoe: You know the few women that are really holding it out there like lexi me julie and others and erin [2972.45] Zoe: Like oh my god erin megalina. Oh my god, you guys are [2975.39] Zoe: awesome [2977.49] Zoe: And and and just it's it's it's to the point of [2981.09] Zoe: Where that kind of shield will help other women feel more comfortable and confident in getting into the hobby and like [2987.25] Zoe: have someone not necessarily to identify with but not have a guy that's saying ripping balls and this is [2993.57] Zoe: You know like the machismo ism [2996.29] Zoe: That can't keep some people out of the sport isn't within that so you're not like that the sort of the ripping balls [3002.99] Andy: masculinity [3004.85] Zoe: I think it's okay. It's just I think that's been heavily promoted more than a lot of the other stuff [3010.13] Jack: I mean, yeah, it must be worked for you, especially being [3013.89] Jack: like [3014.93] Jack: Um a homosexual woman as well. You must look at men just be like, oh my god. There's like children [3021.49] Jack: You know [3023.09] Zoe: I I I've routinely said this this hobby is industry is filled a bunch of grown men playing with little toys [3029.09] Andy: Well, that's what it is. I mean that that sort of leads up [3031.97] Andy: To something that one thing like one thing i'm interested in is sort of is the path that different [3038.13] Andy: for girls when it comes to getting into fpv and quad copters and is guys because [3043.73] Andy: my experience my experience is [3046.21] Andy: Sitting in a sort of my sort of dark man cave in the in the darkest corners of rc groups [3051.89] Andy: And that's kind of like how it starts but like for [3055.89] Andy: For females is it is it different? What is the sort of i'm interested to know from like? [3061.81] Andy: It's sort of like an open open question [3064.93] Frank: Let's ask these individuals [3068.21] Frank: I think if i'm right [3070.21] Frank: Hold on. Hold on frank. We want Monica to answer. Um andy's question [3076.29] Frank: How did you start? [3078.77] Frank: Why did you start and [3081.81] Lexie: Yeah, I [3083.81] Lexie: Actually got into because I always had to go fly with my boyfriend. I mean when he went flying [3090.37] Lexie: So I just got so sick of sitting there that I was like one day just give it to me [3095.89] Lexie: and he was like [3097.49] Lexie: Um, no, you'll break it. I'm like what about not? [3101.89] Lexie: Well, I didn't I didn't break it but that's not saying much. I didn't really fly much [3110.45] Lexie: Yeah [3111.89] Lexie: I don't know and that just bonded us together, I guess because I wasn't [3118.05] Lexie: Anymore just frustrated to sit next to him and do nothing [3121.97] Lexie: So I could actually share [3124.77] Lexie: Experience with him. So I started to finally get into the problem of the guys that want to get their girlfriends to the hobby [3132.13] Lexie: I mean if you sit there for a couple of hours, you're like, oh god [3135.73] Lexie: I mean i'm flying by myself and [3138.93] Lexie: But if i'm about sit there for couple of hours and when nothing i'm like, oh god, no [3144.13] Lexie: So that's that's the mostly the big problem [3146.61] Lexie: I mean if you once get a girl into fpb buy her a freaking tiny whoop or get her goggles [3152.13] Lexie: Because watching it from the outside. This is [3155.81] Lexie: Oh [3158.61] Lexie: They also have to that's the main problem [3161.25] Lexie: Yeah [3161.49] Lexie: But the thing is they also at least have to be a little bit interested [3165.01] Lexie: Because I think even if you wouldn't buy a tiny whoop for her [3169.25] Lexie: And if she doesn't care she still wouldn't fly with it [3172.37] Lexie: But that's the same with guys because it's not just girls the same as with the same thing as with guys [3178.37] Lexie: If they're really not interested in it [3180.69] Lexie: You can't talk them into it because you might say it's difficult to get girls into it. But I've [3186.85] Lexie: encountered the same problems with getting guys into it. I mean sometimes i'm talking [3192.13] Lexie: To guys and because i'm in university and they're not [3196.13] Lexie: interested at all [3198.13] Lexie: In I mean, I mean i'm talking about and they're like, oh, yeah sure go fly. How can I use that in football? [3204.93] Jack: No, don't worry [3207.01] Andy: I i'd love to see that i'd love to see a girl flying and like she brings her boyfriend along and and he's just like nah [3213.41] Andy: I don't get it [3217.17] Andy: Be like nah, you can't get me into this and she's there, you know [3220.85] Andy: She's into it. That's [3224.21] Frank: So if i'm right from looking at other or having seen other videos on your channel magda [3230.21] Frank: um [3231.17] Frank: I'm fairly certain that I see plenty of other rc [3235.49] Frank: Streams like I mean loads of us have gotten into the fpv through like flying rc planes or driving rc cars [3241.97] Frank: And i've seen both of those on your channel. Is that how you got into fpv or was there a different route for you? [3247.89] UNKNOWN: Okay [3249.25] MG: It was because my boyfriend started to fly first and he started to fly with planes [3254.69] MG: And after a few months he saw some video [3258.61] MG: I can't remember what was that. I think that was that video in the forest when the guys was [3264.05] MG: Chased each other. Oh, yeah [3266.05] MG: That was that video [3267.41] MG: And after that video he decided yeah [3270.13] MG: He decided to buy his first drone. So I was going with him all the time everywhere [3275.33] MG: Yeah, and I was like, okay, maybe I will try as well. So he [3280.61] MG: A toy drone actually I still have it [3283.73] MG: that was [3285.17] Andy: Yes, jack. I told you people start with toy drones jack. Yeah, seriously, but [3292.05] MG: You know, I was flying like line of sight so it wasn't that nice for me [3297.01] MG: So I was flying maybe a few times with this and then he would give me his racing drone. That was I think ishin [3304.13] MG: Yeah ishin it wasn't that good but for me was for first time was good [3309.33] MG: so I [3311.01] MG: think I tried maybe one or twice [3315.49] MG: And then I remember I watched with phillip some skits of video. I can't remember [3320.85] MG: Which one exactly but [3322.93] MG: When I saw it, I was like, oh my god, that was like for me not that looks like you know [3329.01] MG: Like it's everything looks so easy [3331.65] MG: But after that when I started to do something [3335.89] MG: That was like, oh my god, how to do, you know stuff like that. So yeah [3340.45] MG: I was trying to practice as well on the simulator, but I [3345.01] MG: I decided to not do it [3346.45] MG: I don't know why because it wasn't that good like when I was flying in rail [3350.45] MG: so yeah, so I started just like that and [3353.57] MG: I am person as well. Like when when I'm trying something, you know [3358.13] MG: and something is not like [3360.93] MG: Going in good way. I I always like give up too quickly. Yeah [3366.21] MG: And with drones I was like, oh no, I don't want to fly with this with this toy [3370.45] MG: So I give up and then when I was watching through the goggles that was much much better for me. So [3377.65] MG: Then it's easier decide to try one more time and that was [3382.21] Andy: I think you must have really had the passion for it though to you know [3385.25] Andy: Go on the simulator and try all of this stuff [3387.73] Andy: So I think I think you you really must have been into it despite, you know, you thinking that [3393.41] Andy: Oh, you know this isn't working kind of thing [3395.49] Andy: But you know you were really trying all the different avenues avenues there and it seems like you [3400.93] Andy: Ended up with the fvv is your favorite thing [3403.81] MG: Yeah, I have to because you know [3405.81] MG: The weather in uk is not that good. Oh, we know [3410.69] MG: Sometimes I remember when I started [3413.81] MG: Sometimes it was like maybe I was flying one time per month [3418.45] MG: It was just one day [3420.45] MG: and then maybe through the [3422.77] MG: We've got summer. It was like, you know more often, but not that often because I'm more like full time as well [3429.57] MG: So it's not that easy to to do it [3433.17] MG: But I was trying to fly as much as I can to practice [3437.49] MG: as well, and I think [3440.13] MG: This is it seriously, this is the first hobby which I have [3443.65] MG: Which I am so so excited when i'm going for every flight and this is [3449.09] MG: Something what I really love is seriously even [3452.53] MG: At work i'm talking with my friend [3455.73] MG: It's female, of course, and I'm talking to her and I know she already don't understand what i'm talking about [3462.61] MG: But anyway, I'm always so excited. So I have to share with someone not just like with my boyfriend [3468.45] MG: Yeah, I need to share with more people [3471.01] Jack: I've secretly hired you [3473.65] Jack: To train train vicki because she's shown [3477.41] MG: slight interest don't worry [3479.97] Jack: Yeah [3480.93] Jack: and uh [3481.89] MG: So yeah, you're in you guys not living you guys not living so far away. So we we should met up [3488.77] Jack: Yeah, that would be cool. Yeah [3491.33] Jack: I know the thing is I feel bad like years ago before ftb. I shouted at her [3496.61] Jack: being so terrible at video games [3500.29] Jack: I didn't know that like she weren't allowed them when she was little [3505.17] Jack: And I was just like how bad because I just watched I was like you're really intelligent [3511.01] Jack: You of all people will know like, you know praying to [3515.41] Jack: Thumb, you know should be fine. Jack. Have you seen me play video games? [3520.45] Jack: No, i've seen how you build quads you are bad. Well, it's worse than how I build quads [3528.53] Jack: I can't it's like my mom. She like asked me stuff on how to do stuff on computer [3533.33] Jack: I'm like you are smarter than me at some point you were teaching me how to like wipe my butthole [3541.97] Jack: Any coaching off me last week jack or [3545.41] Jack: Yeah [3550.21] Jack: I honestly I I you know, like the thing is my mom like, you know, I can say whatever to her like once I jokingly [3557.73] Jack: Like, you know shouted like shut your whole mouth mother [3562.61] Jack: And like everyone around me thought I was serious and I just [3566.45] Jack: I've never wanted the ground to open up and eat [3570.77] Jack: So much [3573.65] Jack: You know, she was being mean to me first that's the worst part [3578.05] Frank: That's all right. Then jack you can all everyone can always call their mother that if they would be [3583.49] Frank: I know [3589.25] Frank: Is it in your girl's blood now is it like fpv for life [3594.69] Frank: Does everyone love it? [3600.82] MG: No [3610.9] Zoe: But my response to it is very complex because i've had some experiences over the last week that have made me feel very [3618.1] Zoe: Unwelcomed in the community [3620.26] Zoe: And also some experiences that have made me really realize that my presence in the community has done a lot of good [3626.02] Zoe: Uh, that being said, I I don't know [3628.26] Zoe: I mean I have a passion and I love flying and I can't imagine not ever having it a part of my life [3635.22] Andy: I think I think the question is legally is it fpv for life, you know, or something gonna come along fpv life sentence [3644.26] Zoe: I think the only thing that could come along is like me becoming an astronaut or like an actual pilot and making giant [3651.22] Lexie: Physical drones that I write in I mean, that would be cool. You should do that. That would like be awesome [3657.54] Zoe: the next step [3659.7] Zoe: And that's how Zoe dies in a drone that she makes [3663.62] Jack: I'm sure you're making good enough to get up [3667.78] Jack: She's still alive [3670.1] Jack: um [3671.7] Andy: For now, yeah, Peter Schipholt by the way is the guy that was on flight test. He's uh [3677.54] Andy: Building his own plane out of foam board just for some context [3681.22] Frank: Actually flown it isn't he he flown it [3685.14] Andy: Absolutely crazy. Yeah, I haven't seen that yet. You just [3693.38] Andy: We're not ruining anything though because it's still worth watching so [3699.14] Frank: Andy uh, you've got your first proposal in the chat, by the way. Have I who is it? It's carlos. I accept [3708.18] Lexie: That was easy [3711.22] Lexie: Guys so I have to leave you and I have to [3715.78] Frank: Go for it. Thanks. So, uh, thanks for coming on very much [3722.58] Frank: Bye, bye. Bye. Bye. Well, i'm glad we got through an hour [3727.22] Jack: Perfectly. That was great. It was great. I really was managed to try and offend someone [3736.82] Jack: Like [3739.06] Jack: You're an idiot, um, there you go [3742.5] Jack: Look, you don't realize how important and how like a pillar of strength. Yeah, you don't realize the whole that you feel [3751.06] Jack: a [3751.94] Jack: You're the pioneer of 3d [3754.66] Jack: be your girl and [3762.5] Andy: Because there's not there's not a guy doing 3d really yeah, and that's something that's always interested in me [3768.02] Andy: I've been secretly trying to fly 3d because the lift-off simulator. I don't know if you know zoe [3773.86] Andy: They added the 3d feature to lift up [3777.38] Zoe: It's so pretty easy to enable. I just push the button like three times and bam three modes enables [3782.5] Andy: I've been playing about with that. So if I ever get good enough to not crash while doing it [3787.7] Zoe: I'll do some videos on it. But yeah, well, I mean so 3d pilots as far as that goes. Uh, there's [3794.82] Zoe: A few good ones out there. I mean lately. I don't think there's been as active posting videos [3799.86] Zoe: But like liberimo over in japan. He is an amazing pilot. He pulled off the first like [3807.78] Zoe: building plant so he flew up like a [3810.82] Zoe: 50 story abandoned building and he planted the 3d quad on the wall of the building using a thrust [3818.42] Zoe: he basically let go of the building and like flew down it and [3822.5] Zoe: He he did the first like real building dives with 3d [3826.26] Zoe: And he did some really cool stuff and he was also the only other 3d pilot that was at worlds in 2016 [3833.54] Zoe: Uh, he had competed in I think south korea's competitions ended up [3838.74] Zoe: Going forward and he got a spot at drone worlds [3842.74] Zoe: And it was basically me and him competing for [3846.58] Zoe: You know 3d dominance [3849.22] Zoe: It was kind of funny he actually hit the mountain before I hit the mountain [3853.22] Zoe: And then I hit the mountain after him because it was like well if he's hitting the mountain [3857.46] Zoe: I have to hit the mountain like I can't be up marked by another 3d pilot. I've got to do it, too [3863.06] Zoe: So that that's what started the whole mountain thing [3865.22] Zoe: So I did the mountain and shane started doing the mountain like everyone during that competition start hitting the mountain [3870.02] Zoe: But that's no they're there. So why am I an idiot again? [3874.1] Zoe: I [3876.1] Frank: Only just realizing how [3879.78] Frank: You are in the community that's supporting [3883.62] Jack: That's what jack you yeah you like that [3887.94] Jack: it's [3889.14] Jack: I'm a big fan of like kevin smith and if you listen to his like [3893.46] Jack: long talks and stuff [3895.54] Jack: his brother was um gay and [3898.98] Jack: started writing [3900.74] Jack: Yeah, he started writing scripts and like he would then hand it to his brother and he would properly laugh and that was his first [3907.94] Jack: um [3909.78] Jack: Like, you know first, you know realization that holy shit like what I do [3914.02] Jack: Sort of makes a difference and I can affect people [3917.54] Zoe: And it's later movies since that have been really good because of it. Like heaven smith has put out a lot of good work. That's [3923.86] Zoe: Like even the last movie I think is red state [3926.26] Zoe: It was like the last horror movie like some of the jokes and that that were like lgbt related were fucking hysterical [3932.9] Jack: Yeah, you've got a corner like, you know, like that's the thing it's like [3939.14] Jack: with this community if you think back no matter who you are sex or age or whatever is a [3946.5] Jack: You're not as alone. Do you know what I mean? Like you have you make friends, you know, like i've [3952.58] Jack: I wouldn't have tony if I didn't have this hobby. Do you know what I mean? It's like [3956.9] Jack: Do you know what it's like to like be [3959.62] Jack: like [3960.74] Jack: 28 and you know that late in life and make a best friend [3966.82] Frank: You know it's life-changing [3974.98] Zoe: I haven't had like the chance of like flying with another female pilot at competitions and this year [3980.82] Zoe: I tried putting together like the first female team [3983.86] Zoe: And that part of that was inviting. Angela jacks from fv racing mexico who she's in the room hearing this right now [3992.02] Zoe: Inviting her out to do a team race and trying to put together first girls team. Uh, it didn't go [3998.82] Zoe: Great. We couldn't find like the other female pilots. I contacted at the time [4002.9] Zoe: Like most of them were doing other stuff [4005.14] Zoe: So it's hard for us to get them all in one place for one event [4008.26] Zoe: But we had the first actual co-ed completely co-ed [4012.34] Zoe: Evenly matched up a racing team. We went to dover. We beat a bunch of pro pilots [4018.58] Zoe: And it was amazing [4019.86] Zoe: Yeah, but the thing that I pulled from that was just me being able to travel and compete with another female pilot [4026.34] Zoe: Like she's one of my best friends now because of that. Yeah, I [4030.1] Zoe: Connected with her on a level. I was never able to connect with with the other male pilots [4034.9] Zoe: And that's something that a lot of the male pilots just take for granted [4037.94] Jack: Yeah, that that's what I mean [4039.3] Jack: That is the big the big deal and then you you've got to look even bigger and wider and look about [4046.58] Jack: Someone who isn't you do you know what I mean? You're carving a path [4050.82] Jack: If you didn't do it, no one else has done it this year. No one might do it for years and years and years [4057.22] Jack: and then [4058.42] Jack: The other side of it is that? [4060.34] Jack: Like one day like drones will be a big thing. They'll be taught in school [4062.98] Jack: There'll be history and because you've done that they'll look back at history and they'll talk about you in [4069.06] Jack: like high schools and [4071.22] Jack: You know someone will probably write an essay about it. You know me you are a suffragette of the fbv [4077.38] Andy: I think like now as well. Like yeah female female pilots are just far too rare and [4084.26] Andy: I think [4086.5] Jack: Do you know what I mean? [4087.46] Jack: So when Zoe talks about [4089.54] Andy: Zoe talks about flying with other female pilots is difficult because they're all dotted around the world and the more [4095.86] Andy: Female pilots that we get the better and and I was really like disappointed to see like if a female [4102.1] Andy: Pilot gets sponsored then there's all this controversy [4104.82] Andy: but but I think that's really I think that's really daft because [4109.06] Andy: I think it's great when when someone gets sponsored and it only highlights that both [4113.78] Andy: genders can achieve great things and [4116.9] Andy: I think that's a great thing. I'd love to see more. Yeah, you're building bridges on the hobby [4121.7] Jack: But most importantly you're building bridges to each other as other women. Do you know what I mean? You're able to [4127.86] Jack: Meet halfway. Do you know do you know what it's like? Like [4130.9] Jack: Think about you, right? You could travel to england [4134.5] Jack: And you've got a friend there. Do you know what I mean? You can travel to paris and there'll be [4138.9] Jack: There will at least be one girl pilot [4141.54] Jack: You're never alone because you [4145.3] Jack: stood there you've been alone when you first came in and people [4148.98] Jack: Have gravitated you're someone to look up to [4152.18] Jack: You're the the little girl [4154.18] Jack: Like little girl's hero when there's like a 10 year old girl and she's like playing with boys toys [4159.62] Jack: and it's like [4161.14] Jack: You know, it's not it's not that thing. Do you know what I mean? It's not [4165.06] Jack: You know, you're you're that sort of she can do it, you know, technically you're a wonder woman [4170.9] Jack: Who likes flying upside down? [4176.18] Zoe: Well, thank you for the ego boost I guess [4178.82] Jack: Like you know, like what you're doing matters like it may feel like you're up on a uphill battle but like [4187.46] Jack: Different well [4188.98] Zoe: Right now it feels like it's a bit of an uphill battle, but I i'm hoping that this is the downhill portion [4195.78] Zoe: like [4197.14] Zoe: I've seen stuff just in like since posting that message like I knew things weren't gonna like change or happen overnight like nobody [4205.38] Zoe: Changes overnight. Nobody's able to like take all that information in and really digest it [4210.9] Zoe: But i've seen attitudes of some of the pilots that even posted negatively in that comment thread changing like there's the [4218.66] Zoe: They slept on it and they kind of are realizing what I said and that I wasn't trying to attack anybody in the community [4224.18] Zoe: I wasn't trying to like say guys in the community or sexist blah, blah, blah [4228.42] Zoe: I was really just trying to point out like a real problem and the social implications of that problem and how it could affect [4234.98] Zoe: The industry going forward and that's something that a lot of people just kind of had to think about for a bit [4241.14] Zoe: And I i'm hoping they'll continue to think about it [4243.94] Zoe: I'm hoping this will be something that at least instead of not being in their minds [4248.66] Zoe: It'll be at least a little nodule that in the back of their mind [4252.34] Zoe: They'll think about before they host like an event in saudi arabia or something else like that [4258.66] Frank: Actually being kind of helpful that it's something where it's so clear cut [4263.7] Frank: That there's you know some way that it's negatively affecting women [4268.18] Frank: That it then opens up that conversation a bit more to like [4271.94] Frank: How other ways because I mean if you think about it, there's lots of ways people can be kept out of fpv [4277.78] Jack: Like for like financially and geographically and all that kind of disability. I sometimes I go to places and throw toilets [4285.62] Jack: You know [4287.62] Jack: You know i'm like i'm done [4290.02] Frank: But gender is something that is like almost by definition [4294.74] Frank: evenly split [4296.34] Frank: Throughout all those sorts of things. Um, so the fact that we don't see so many women in [4303.38] Frank: The you know in the competitions then that's actually quite clearly saying that even if they're not actively being discriminated against [4313.14] Frank: The the the conditions aren't being made [4317.54] Frank: Comfortable for everyone like there's some there's an issue there needs to be looked at there's there's certain organizers and certain [4324.48] Zoe: competitions that i've personally avoided because of the culture that is surrounding them and um [4330.98] Zoe: I won't speak to who or what but you know, there's there's certain, you know, I noticed in the united states that [4337.14] Zoe: There was a bit of a divide happening this year between hosting certain bigger like [4345.46] Zoe: Like multi-gp events versus non-multi-gp events and you know [4349.62] Zoe: The there's a lot of organizers that did not want to host those multi-gp events for various reasons [4355.3] Zoe: And I made a decision this year to go to mostly non-gp multi-gp events, especially the bigger ones [4361.22] Zoe: So like this is historic doesn't even happen with multi-gp events [4364.18] Zoe: But almost any giant drone race as where you have like a hundred plus competitors [4369.54] Zoe: It's almost [4371.14] Zoe: Just like it's like hard cluster fuck very rarely [4375.22] Zoe: Do they are they able to get any of these larger competitions to actually scale properly and are fun for the pilots? [4382.66] Zoe: Most of the time it's just like a dick measuring contest for a lot of guys [4386.02] Zoe: They show up with a lot of other guys that they know and compete with on a regular basis [4391.06] Zoe: And they try to put down a time on a track to beat the other guys on the track [4396.1] Zoe: Whereas it's still even to this day like ken lou says it's still 50 luck and 50 skill [4402.66] Zoe: and that's that's not enough of a [4405.38] Zoe: Proper gap to where you can really see who's the properly skilled pilots in my mind [4411.62] Zoe: Like I I see and I see some pilots for example on drl [4415.62] Zoe: The I feel may not be to the same level as a few of the female pilots that i've seen [4421.46] Zoe: But that doesn't mean they're also to the same level as like jet or nirk or some of the other top level pilots on their show [4427.62] Zoe: right [4428.58] Zoe: so there has to be this like [4431.46] Zoe: weird middle ground where [4433.7] Zoe: Women themselves have to like kind of push themselves up to do better [4437.78] Zoe: But also the community kind of has to become more welcoming, you know, like the the brocentric culture [4443.86] Zoe: The ripping balls quote unquote kind of thing like that's cool [4448.1] Zoe: but if we have just that that's going to really kind of be unappealing to women to compete against and be a part of [4453.94] Zoe: Because that doesn't speak to a lot of the women that love to fly [4457.78] Zoe: I mean I compete differently like I help my competitors. I don't have the traditional like i'm at the track [4464.66] Zoe: You [4465.78] Zoe: I'm here for me kind of thing like there's been multiple instances where i've helped my competitor beat me [4472.42] Zoe: Which has been bad. There's been mini quad races x-class races freestyle competitions [4478.58] Zoe: All of the above where i've been helpful to my competitors in a way where they've gone [4485.7] Frank: It's what [4486.98] Zoe: That's passion though, isn't it? That's the passion. It's passion. It's that's that's me being passionate about it and me trying to [4493.3] Zoe: compete in a way that I see as helpful inclusive and trying to push everyone forward because [4499.6] Zoe: Competitors like I want I want people to compete at the highest level like [4505.38] Zoe: I don't want to see someone competing at like half throttle so to speak. I want them to have every [4511.12] Zoe: Opportunity they have to do the best that they can do because that's when the real competitive spirit is able to come out [4517.94] Zoe: um [4519.22] Zoe: And so that's why I get very helpful during events like to like a detrimental point where i've helped other pilots [4524.98] Zoe: To where I need to be working on my own stuff and i'm helping them work on their own stuff [4529.62] Zoe: Um, and I I like to see more of that. I like to see a lot of the competitors like drop the whole like [4535.78] Zoe: Ego, there's a lot of big egos around these really tiny machines. I think that's just the human thing [4542.26] Andy: That's not yeah [4544.26] Andy: I think it's uh, like the the sort of road to riot mentality. Is that what it is? [4550.1] Frank: There's a lot of no [4552.18] Zoe: Well, remember riot was a culture [4553.86] Zoe: I mean in the brand right like they had money behind them and backing to kind of try to build a brand [4560.34] Zoe: And they they tried to like launch as a tv show initially. They tried to launch as like a web brand and then they launched their store [4567.14] Zoe: And initially they're trying to build it as this kind of like bad boy brand that was going to kind of sell for tv [4572.66] Zoe: And then they started realizing that they were more of an integral part of the community [4576.1] Zoe: So like a lot of the like I think so at least a lot of the instigating that happened quote unquote doing like the the bad boy [4581.86] Zoe: stuff started kind of causing [4583.94] Zoe: ripples and waves in the community and there's a bit of you know, [4588.74] Zoe: A little a little bit of pushback from that a little bit. Um [4592.02] Andy: It's a tricky one, isn't it? Because it's that that also makes entertaining the egos the personality is it's uh [4598.82] Zoe: Yeah, and it's a it's a hard balance because i've always seen rotor riot like a band, you know [4603.78] Zoe: Like you can't just add in a band member that doesn't jive or doesn't know how to jam with the band, right? [4610.5] Zoe: Yeah, so for rotor riot, especially like when they try to add someone onto their main cast [4615.38] Zoe: They have to basically find someone that jives really well [4618.66] Zoe: with everybody else in their main cast [4621.86] Zoe: and I don't know all the specifics about what happened behind the scenes of like late but [4628.5] Zoe: They've definitely seemed to be trying to move the brand in a direction. That's more open to everybody. That's less of the [4635.54] Zoe: ripping balls and ah [4638.1] Zoe: and more of the like [4642.82] Zoe: Yeah, that it was a really cool episode like I loved like what we did with that and how fun it was [4648.5] Zoe: And that was one of those last episodes [4651.62] Zoe: Yeah, well that was the the bloom popping but then they did a 3d episode. Yeah [4656.34] Zoe: and uh [4657.78] Zoe: You know, I I think they should focus more on the pushing the boundaries of fpv in a positive way versus pushing the boundaries in a [4666.16] Zoe: controversial way [4667.78] Zoe: so to speak like [4669.54] Andy: I think I think they need a female member and that was going to be one of my questions of any of you girls being [4675.62] Andy: approached by rotor riot and asked if they if you want to [4679.76] Andy: participate as being a [4682.58] Andy: member of rotor riot [4685.62] Zoe: um [4688.58] Zoe: This is I guess the rotor right frame i'm helping them worse [4692.02] Zoe: So i'm not an official member. Um, I i'm just uh [4696.26] Zoe: Trying to help them with the frame design. They've been following me for a while and they saw the raggy wbx frame [4703.46] Zoe: And uh, they wanted to kind of [4706.9] Frank: It was just I was waiting for tony to make a comment [4709.94] Zoe: uh about about that [4712.02] Zoe: I've heard I heard about it. I still do the full story between fossils and [4717.3] Frank: I'm not even i'm not even gonna go there tonight [4720.82] Zoe: Okay, feel free to go there later because i'm super curious [4725.46] Jack: Two two two things, right [4727.7] Jack: so [4728.9] Jack: Yeah, yodel [4731.06] Jack: aden's asks [4733.46] Jack: Ladies, what are your plans for the cold season? [4737.3] MG: Um, see me later and tiny with home and maybe [4742.9] MG: Yeah [4746.42] MG: Actually, we've got some truck at home with some gates with lads so it's good idea and [4754.1] MG: also, we've got [4756.42] MG: like one minute from home, so it's perfect for whoops and for races as well, but I [4762.58] MG: Didn't try with my five inch. So [4765.22] MG: Maybe I will try but I have little bit worry [4768.58] MG: Like I will crash it and then I will regret. Oh, maybe I will fly with my [4773.38] MG: Smaller quads. Yes [4775.38] MG: Run for winter and practice. Yeah, I definitely hope [4779.38] Lexie: Yeah, I definitely hope it will stop raining because it's really so bad. I mean [4785.62] Lexie: So I can handle but the rain is just [4789.7] Lexie: Makes everything just not feel great [4792.58] Lexie: yeah, so [4794.74] Lexie: I hope within if the in december it starts [4799.14] Lexie: To be a little bit better [4801.06] Lexie: we can go out with the [4803.38] Lexie: bit more [4804.98] Lexie: Training for a three inch and a five inch because honestly, I haven't even been able to fly with it much [4811.22] Lexie: I built it last month and I've [4813.38] Lexie: Flew and I think we're flowing it for three days maximum in the weekend. So [4820.02] Frank: It's really bad only good then again, are you gonna start racing at all competitively any of you guys? [4828.9] Jack: Sorry, come up with your repression [4833.54] Jack: I always say man [4836.42] Andy: I'm like, oh god. I'm not guys in a gender gender neutral worthy. I I agree. I actually agree with that in santa cruz caliph. I know [4842.74] Zoe: I'm just [4844.58] Jack: Getting with him. I'm just [4847.78] Jack: Sorry, anything yeah, I think Tony suffered enough honestly, sorry [4853.46] Jack: Sorry [4855.46] MG: That's all right, don't worry. Yeah, so I I think that the princess both of us want to try yeah [4861.86] MG: rta but [4863.54] MG: If we have like, you know full-time job and after that some work [4869.46] MG: You know at home or something like that and you don't have enough money how you can do it [4874.02] MG: You know what? I mean if if it will be like in the uk of okay, maybe I can try but [4879.54] MG: As well is the situation like i'm not from the uk [4882.74] MG: So I have to go for a day to visit, you know, my family [4886.34] MG: And stuff like that. So i've got like maybe 20 days [4890.5] MG: to to go somewhere so [4893.14] MG: well [4896.66] Frank: What about the uh, the the british fpv racing association, um [4908.82] Frank: In january, they're going to be announcing the details but yeah, they're going to be putting together a team for the [4915.84] Frank: international [4917.22] Frank: Uh race so by organized by the fa so they're sort of official world air sports [4924.18] Frank: and [4925.38] Frank: Association and so through the british championships [4928.8] Frank: qualifications events next year [4930.82] Frank: Um, they're going to be picking their team. So if you go to [4935.06] Frank: I think at the moment, I mean all the details are still being worked out. If you go to at least one qualifying event [4941.86] Frank: um [4942.66] Frank: then you're in with a chance of [4945.86] Frank: Going on the national team and then they would pay for you to go over to wherever it is in the world [4951.86] Frank: So, um, that sounds cool. Seriously. That might be something to be [4957.86] Frank: Keeping an eye on [4959.14] Lexie: I'm pretty sure that's not in belgium though [4962.42] Lexie: I mean [4964.02] Lexie: I we have like the fie. Um [4967.86] Lexie: I don't know. Do you say it the same? Yeah, right. Yeah fie [4971.06] Lexie: um [4972.98] Lexie: Racist in belgium and personally I don't go because if you miss one [4979.22] Lexie: You can't participate anymore. So I feel like I come. Oh my god [4984.34] Jack: Really? Yeah. Is that how it works? Yeah, I think [4987.78] Jack: Right because if you miss one, you're not head forbid you have a light for commitments or [4994.18] Lexie: Yeah, I mean if you [4996.26] Lexie: If you miss one and i'm not a good enough racer to get any points at all [5000.9] Lexie: So yeah, me neither. I'd be so low anyway that I wouldn't make the qualifications anyway [5006.26] Lexie: So I feel like it's a battle. I can't even compete but we have a few [5012.34] Lexie: races that are just [5014.66] Lexie: um made by other organizations and I [5017.78] Lexie: I'm usually trying to make all of those in belgium at least [5021.86] Jack: Well brexit hasn't happened yet, so we'll still let you in [5027.62] Jack: Right, hang on i've got a little yeah, we've got a little announcement, right? So little stella fox says [5036.02] Jack: Um, i've never met another female pilot in person and i've tried [5040.66] Jack: Still not once [5042.42] Jack: So i'm putting out a shout out [5044.98] Jack: For little stella fox. She is in surf city, north carolina [5050.18] Jack: and [5051.54] Jack: um, I will warn you little stella [5054.58] Jack: Fox that [5056.02] Jack: This is let's drone out. So there's probably going to be about five guys willing to dress up [5062.26] Jack: As women and pretend to meet you. So whatever you do be careful meeting a public place [5068.82] Jack: Or verify that they're not catfishing you because even tony will have a go for a laugh [5074.34] Jack: He still got a few crop tops kicking around somewhere and you know, what's to see that no [5080.5] Frank: I've actually just subscribed to her [5083.06] Jack: Yeah [5084.9] Jack: There's little bastards in that chat little [5090.42] Frank: I'm mad in that chat [5092.1] Frank: So monica, are you sponsored by anyone? Do you get any freebies sent to you at all or anything like that? [5099.14] Frank: Well doll prop m fox here is my sponsor. Yeah. Nice down prop m fox. Yeah, that's really good [5104.42] Lexie: Well, it's basically the same. So [5107.86] Frank: About you, um mg fpv [5110.42] MG: Yeah, actually, I am sponsored by fpv direct and [5116.02] MG: I've got some free stuff as well from gaprc, but this is not like sponsorship [5120.98] MG: They're just sending to me this to test something like that [5124.66] Andy: So is that because they've seen your youtube channels or your instagram and they contact you [5130.58] MG: Yeah, I think they seen first my instagram like I was I think adding some videos and photos with [5137.54] MG: The props from them. Yeah, and they didn't contact to me and they asked if I need some spare props [5145.22] MG: of course [5147.46] MG: Sometimes they sending to me some props and antennas as well [5151.38] MG: So yeah, and I really like them they are [5154.66] MG: With cheap. Yeah, but they are for me. They're [5158.18] Andy: Good [5159.06] Andy: So do you have to like um make an instagram post regarding that or like a youtube video? [5164.66] Andy: Is it just that you know, you're just associated with them and you get to use them [5168.9] MG: For the first time I think yeah, they asked me for some, you know short video or [5175.14] MG: Life story or something like that and maybe some photos. So yes, that's it. I think fairly easy [5182.18] Andy: Yeah [5183.54] Andy: Do they send like? [5186.58] Andy: Sorry, oh, sorry, it's my fault. I was no no, it's my fault. I was just interested because like i'll stop at you too [5194.26] Andy: No, you hang on [5197.22] Andy: Sorry [5198.58] Andy: I was just interested because I I like do review videos. So I think there's a difference between [5205.46] Andy: reviewing a product and being sponsored and I think when [5208.82] Andy: When you are sponsored you sort of get sent like a monthly care package. Is that the is that the kind of thing? [5215.94] Andy: That you get from being sponsored like every month you get props or something [5221.3] MG: um [5222.34] MG: Actually, you know from dev pv direct i've got like [5226.82] MG: For the beginning they give me almost like whole quad. They give me like a million [5232.82] MG: ex nova motors cbs [5236.5] MG: Furious company and run comes with student. So yeah, so i've got like, you know, like whole quad and then [5245.54] MG: Actually nothing and that was uh, yeah because it was it was quite funny situation [5250.5] MG: maybe not funny because I was after that when I read something on facebook, I was like, oh my god because [5256.9] MG: when they [5258.42] MG: write on the facebook like I am [5260.74] MG: They they you know, they choose me to to be sponsored by them [5264.5] MG: some people from from the uk write samples like [5268.58] MG: Uh, they choose me and because of me they just you know, just [5273.54] MG: Uh [5274.9] MG: The gill, yeah because yeah sponsored by them [5278.26] MG: And they said like i'm not flying like i'm just flying like freestyle. I'm not racing and that was like, you know like [5286.34] MG: for me that was like [5288.5] MG: I supposed to race on the time to to to do something like this or you know to [5295.54] MG: I don't know how to say but you know, yeah, yeah, it's like what's wrong with me because you know [5302.1] MG: This is not like I want to you know, do everything. Yeah, if i'm like freestyle, I will do freestyle [5308.5] MG: I want to try as well racing but you know [5310.98] MG: I don't have this opportunity like, you know to go for some races because of the money or stuff like that [5317.46] MG: And that was another thing like some people write like i'm flying on the clone frame or something like that [5323.78] MG: And I was like, okay [5324.66] MG: so if I don't have enough money to fly on I don't know or on [5329.14] MG: alien and on key stuff I supposed to not flying or something like that because [5334.02] Andy: It's a tricky one, isn't it? [5336.02] MG: This is really sometimes this is bullshit. I don't get it those people week [5340.42] MG: if they're writing something like this and sometimes it's sad as well, but [5345.3] MG: From some time I just try to you know that don't listen to them and just you know [5351.7] Frank: Just do your thing [5354.5] Lexie: There's a right attitude because otherwise you'll just keep worrying about everything. Yeah. Yeah, david windows still everybody [5365.46] MG: Go hey david [5372.5] Jack: Engi i'm sorry. That is my first love david windows still [5377.3] Jack: Was he bastard? [5381.3] Jack: Who's that new girl with the beard [5383.94] Andy: Oh [5388.58] Andy: I would marry that one in a heartbeat. If you're if you're a fan of mg fpv [5393.38] MG: She made a really cute video of her cleaning her quad with a toothbrush. Oh, really? If you ever see her [5406.5] Jack: That's how me and tony were like we love this girl [5410.5] Jack: Have you seen this? I was like, you know, she's so adorable [5413.94] Jack: And like it's literally playlist of kittens and then you [5419.54] Jack: It's exactly the same to us [5422.66] Jack: Thank you [5424.66] Jack: Where's this race you were talking about in the uk? [5428.18] Frank: Oh that was so i'm talking about all the qualifying events for the [5433.22] Frank: bfpvra british championships [5437.3] Frank: So go on bfpvra.org. I'm sure there'll be stuff on there [5441.46] Frank: in january [5443.78] Frank: Um, so yeah, so that's asking [5446.98] Frank: Asking answering our wishes, uh question [5450.34] Jack: um [5451.62] Jack: Yeah, so it's kind of like is it placebo where everyone brings little ducks? [5457.46] Jack: plastic ducks and they throw [5460.1] Jack: Yeah [5465.62] Jack: There's a band there's a popular band and like when we come to the uk [5470.02] Jack: We don't set up a if you bring a little rubber ducky and you throw ducks at them [5475.3] Jack: There's also you need king charl cinema in the uk [5479.3] Jack: They have a greased night where you go there and they throw plastic cutlery at each other jack. Have you had much sleep lately? [5488.1] Andy: How did you where does this come from it's just weird yeah, it's just weird david david [5495.6] Andy: Congratulations on a hundred a hundred thousand [5500.02] MG: Congrats [5504.1] Andy: Absolutely fantastic. He's up to this pile of shit [5511.22] Andy: David did you get the um the the super play button yet? No, they take like forever to send it. I hear that [5518.18] Jack: You know, he hasn't got one because he hasn't [5524.18] Jack: Give him anything [5526.66] Frank: I don't know. That's why I can't have nice things. Are you going to rocket punch it? [5534.66] Jack: I don't know [5547.78] Andy: The word fest is gender neutral jack i'll show you one [5552.66] Jack: Yeah [5556.9] Windestål: Yeah [5562.74] Jack: Nj tech because we didn't want the girls getting too excited [5571.14] Jack: I said that to uh [5573.46] Jack: I said that to painless 360 he laughed and he was just like he's not that [5581.54] Jack: I know that's half more hour than I could take [5585.46] Frank: And it's about an hour and a half longer than I thought [5589.14] Frank: It's pretty fair jack's been actually quite [5591.7] Jack: Yeah, I think my nail was into my hands or just being like oh, I just want to scream like, you know [5599.22] Jack: Oh, he's battery square wide and stuff [5604.34] Andy: They did that one definitely did look like a six jack. This is a very reserved jack. I think I think it's been good for him [5611.38] Andy: I really do [5613.38] Zoe: Sorry, what are you like? Okay. Okay one one. I did not [5618.42] Zoe: Make this battery. This is uh [5623.54] Zoe: Why he made a battery look like a dick [5625.54] Zoe: Why did he come behind on the end of it? [5628.5] Jack: It's an aerodynamic [5636.26] Frank: As we all know on here quads are meant to be aerodynamically irresponsible [5642.18] Jack: Yeah, thank you andrew [5646.66] Frank: Oh my gosh [5649.86] Frank: Love the stream so far david [5652.34] Frank: Wait, what? What have you thought of the streams over? [5655.54] Windestål: Oh, it's fantastic. It's the best episode so far. I agree. I think it's the best episode. It's been I never [5661.46] Windestål: Ever watched anything this on topic [5664.18] Andy: Yeah, I know [5665.94] Andy: It's really put jack in his place. Like it's sort of like [5669.62] Jack: I've got a lot of respect for women like for a start bickie hoover today [5678.18] Jack: So much and I feel so grumpy when I woke up [5683.86] Andy: Why weren't you hoovering jack because I was in hospital and I feel like i'm dying [5689.78] Frank: Oh [5692.82] Jack: Oh god, I was there all day. They gave me a um, do we really want to go in on this? [5699.3] Frank: I know this is going and we should end this conversation [5705.3] Frank: We don't care where it went or anything jack we don't care [5708.9] Jack: They gave me an urgent blood form and then they went upstairs and gave it to them an hour later [5713.86] Jack: So yeah, i'm in love in life [5718.34] Jack: Literally [5720.34] Frank: I'm glad you made it on this evening. You'd have been very grumpy. Otherwise [5724.9] Jack: I can't miss a show because tony won't talk to me for a month afterwards [5732.34] Frank: You'll probably like that though you little shit [5738.66] Jack: Uh, well jack, what if he put the other type of end on it? [5743.14] Frank: Oh [5744.26] Jack: anyway [5747.06] Frank: Quick something else someone say something [5750.2] Frank: Um [5753.08] Windestål: David what are you smashing up next? Um, I have bought a coconut for you tony. It's sitting in the fridge [5762.84] Windestål: Who's what's gonna win the coconut or the face frank I don't I don't know [5767.56] Frank: Um, there has to be something strong enough. Are you gonna make what a vegan rocket fuel? [5775.0] Windestål: It actually it is [5777.0] Frank: It's jiggering [5780.04] Jack: No, shut up tony [5785.48] Jack: Oh literally like every other week [5789.48] Jack: Terms of agreement and infringements the emails I have to go through look. Can we know about me frank? [5798.6] Jack: Are we not allowed to say bomb wildlife [5801.64] Frank: You're not allowed to give out the recipe on air. No tony [5804.6] Jack: Okay, no wonder i've got stomach ulcers or [5810.44] Frank: Before we scare everyone off, uh, thank you the three of you that are still here with us [5815.72] Frank: Um, so thank you zoe for coming on again. I mean you were here a year and a half ago and you've come back. So [5826.12] Zoe: It was a really good discussion tonight we covered a lot of stuff and yes, yeah, that's great [5831.4] Jack: Thank you. I'll be honest with you. We're slightly mad at you because you've got a podcast and you haven't invited any of us on [5838.84] Zoe: Well, unfortunately my podcast hasn't had a new episode in like three months so we can help with that [5846.12] Andy: Yeah [5848.12] Andy: I think an all-girl podcast like with the girls that have been on tonight on zoe's [5854.44] Zoe: So on that note, um, there's no man involved whatsoever [5858.94] Zoe: Obviously she didn't learn from her [5861.5] Zoe: Something on that. No, uh, so this is way before the post but uh, geez [5866.94] Zoe: I don't even want to say the name of it, but there's a group of girls getting together headed by um [5871.42] Zoe: aunty girl fpv noelle and uh, she invited julie fpv myself and uh drone doll to start a podcast [5880.94] Zoe: And so we're going to be starting up a project together here over the the winter to start having basically an all-female [5888.08] Zoe: You know podcast [5890.32] Zoe: Talk about it and it's it's probably gonna evolve into other stuff [5893.12] Zoe: I mean the biggest thing right now is we're kind of growing the the women that are interested in doing it [5898.56] Zoe: So we know for example because we're an international like [5903.28] Zoe: group, we're not going to be able to have all the women on all the time. So the podcast is going to basically be like a [5910.0] Zoe: a rotating amount of [5912.4] Zoe: Five girls talking about drones. Yeah, this is a bit like that. We don't always have to [5917.52] Andy: The same people on no [5923.92] Windestål: David is this a comment about me having tits again [5931.36] Windestål: What [5934.56] Andy: That was one of my favorite jokes that tony ever said about jack not being sponsored and he's got a care [5940.08] Windestål: Yeah [5945.12] Windestål: I had a quiver for that podcast to get back on track here [5948.56] Frank: quickly [5949.76] Frank: people leave [5951.2] Frank: Because we're in danger of scaring people off. Thank you [5955.04] Frank: Monica for coming along and and and joining us and joining in and not running away [5962.0] Lexie: I don't run away that easily [5964.48] Frank: well, apparently I mean [5967.04] Frank: These guys, um, and thanks at all and uh magda for coming along [5972.4] MG: Thank you. It's awesome to be here. Seriously. I am still a little bit nervous. So I hope next time I will be much better [5979.28] MG: everything [5984.0] Frank: Thank you, we want to see you racing in england soon [5987.28] MG: Yeah, I hope I hope next year. I just keep out the freestyle because it's november. So [5992.8] Frank: Racing and freestyle. Yeah [5995.12] MG: Yeah [5997.12] Jack: Girls, who's your favorite pilot? [6000.88] MG: We haven't asked that we haven't [6010.88] Zoe: I was gonna see myself, but that would be me [6015.36] Zoe: But not like [6017.76] Zoe: I think like it's that's a hard question like I [6020.88] Zoe: I look up to so many pilots like guys and girls especially like [6027.12] Zoe: every pilot has a specialty whether it be racing or freestyle and [6031.44] Zoe: Within that each pilot has something they do remarkably well, whether it be their lines on the track [6037.92] Zoe: Uh the the way they take a of their flow and freestyle the maneuvers [6042.24] Zoe: They do the style of their flying like there's something really special about so many of the pilots that I admire and [6050.0] Zoe: that's something that i've always taken on is like [6053.36] Zoe: I I personally see something about a pilot's flying style and I see that as an opportunity to learn from it [6059.2] Zoe: So when you're looking up to pilots, you know look up to [6063.12] Zoe: A group of pilots don't you know, I mean [6066.88] Zoe: Yeah, there's especially now there's some really badass ladies out there [6070.08] Zoe: Like I said like feb fly girl the the feb princess then we have like jessica dronhardt noelle [6077.84] Zoe: Uh [6080.64] Lexie: Put me up with those because I mean [6083.2] Lexie: Noelle is like seriously [6085.28] Zoe: But this is the thing though is like i've had this this discussion with myself internally [6089.28] Zoe: We have to promote all women in the industry because [6093.04] Zoe: We can't just promote like what we think is good enough [6096.48] Zoe: Yeah, because then it will start promoting like [6101.2] Zoe: very elite amount of pilot [6104.08] Zoe: Let me let me do this [6106.08] Zoe: Back in the bones for grade back in the day when skateboarding was just starting out power and paratha. Sorry. Yeah [6112.88] Zoe: Yeah, no, we're going we're going right back to that. Right? Oh my god [6117.92] Zoe: There's a guy named lance [6120.24] Andy: Where's the guy? I'm like getting trouble for this zoe. So don't worry because i've been flying for 26 years [6125.76] Andy: Jack doesn't like when I go back to the past [6128.48] MG: Oh [6132.0] Zoe: The bone for gade had like the top level [6136.56] Zoe: And then they had [6138.16] Zoe: You know like lance, you know, he wasn't the best skateboarder [6143.04] Zoe: But he had so much fun with it [6145.52] Zoe: And he really showed off having fun with it [6148.48] Zoe: That helped promote the brand helped get people into skateboarding. It showed that the every person could do this [6156.56] Zoe: And that's the same kind of thing that has to happen within the female [6159.36] Zoe: Community is we have to be able to promote not just the top level pilots [6162.56] Zoe: But even the ones that are like super eager to get into it and to learn and to be excited about it [6168.24] Zoe: We have to promote [6170.0] Zoe: Exciting women women being excited about it. Like we have that's like the end of the day [6174.8] Zoe: That's really what it's about. So it's not necessarily skill skill helps [6178.0] Zoe: It's definitely a big thing that women pilots out there over the next year and so [6181.92] Zoe: I think have to step up a bit more just a little bit in their own ways [6186.48] Andy: The kind of I think like especially if you look at the guy's youtube channels [6190.96] Andy: The most popular ones out there aren't actually the ones that aren't exactly [6198.32] Andy: You've got like bruce simpson who's a huge channel [6201.44] Andy: You've got uab futures and then I think probably the only sort of like the biggest [6207.12] Andy: Pro pilot would be sort of mr [6209.44] Andy: Steel [6209.76] Andy: But all the other channels are kind of and I think people like that they connect with that because they're just they they can say [6216.0] Andy: They can relate and say oh [6218.08] Andy: I'm i'm at this skill level and I can relate to it. So I think that's fine [6222.88] Jack: I think I definitely relate to you more now andy that you speak [6227.76] Jack: Don't I see more [6230.96] Jack: Yeah [6232.64] Jack: You know [6234.32] Jack: Do you reckon do do you think skits those rodney mullin? [6239.44] Zoe: Say oh rodney mullin [6241.12] Zoe: So that that's my personal idol is like because he did stuff with freestyle and skating that like I wish [6249.84] Jack: I never wanted to kiss a man so hard [6253.76] Zoe: I would agree with you on that [6256.96] Jack: You know like what no way zoe would go straight for rodney mullin [6262.1] Jack: I mean [6264.9] Jack: Into your soundy thing be like give me rodney mullin i'm straight all day [6275.06] Zoe: He did stuff with like uh [6276.66] Zoe: Was skating that like I see myself and a few other pilots doing with fpb [6281.7] Zoe: Doing the three doing stuff that's out of the traditional norm within freestyle and it pushes everything horror [6288.26] Zoe: you know and that's that's [6291.46] Zoe: one of the things that we have those like the different pilot like the the skater that has the vision that other skaters just don't [6299.94] Zoe: Like that's you know, the rodney mullin then we have like the lance wolf who's amazing, you know skater [6305.14] Zoe: But when you compare him to like rodney or tony hawke [6308.82] Zoe: You know, it's harder for him to hold the candle to them quote unquote, but when you compare him to like the general skating population [6316.34] Zoe: He is really great [6318.02] Zoe: Like you know, he deserves definitely to be competing [6320.9] Zoe: But i'm just my point about him was that he is the kind of person more so than tony [6325.78] Zoe: It's like a lot of people would love to be [6327.46] Jack: You can't say tony. You got a [6329.46] Jack: Address in boys [6331.54] Zoe: Because we tony hawk. Yeah, we've got mr. Hawk. Can I call him mr. Hawk now? [6335.94] Jack: you can't [6337.46] Jack: You you can't just say tony because [6340.42] Jack: i'm thinking of a different tony here will think you're talking about him and picking him up and I can't allow that to happen [6347.54] Zoe: Yeah, so the hawk i'll just call him the hawk [6350.98] Zoe: um, you know a lot of people realize that they can't like get to that level of competition like [6357.3] Zoe: No matter how hard they do it. She takes a special x factor to be that person, right? [6362.82] Zoe: and [6364.18] Zoe: That's yeah, I was definitely getting vec mixed up. That was definitely my problem davey boy in chat. I was thinking of vec versus uh [6372.98] Zoe: Lance mountain i'm bad with names [6376.1] Zoe: um [6377.22] Zoe: So that that's that's kind of the thing like you have to have an environment that supports everybody [6382.98] Zoe: That kind of includes them in the hobby kind of supports and promotes them in the hobby and not just the high level competitors because [6391.04] Zoe: Realistically flying an fpv and this is probably one of my biggest problems is that [6396.32] Zoe: Fpv inherently is not about racing [6399.3] Zoe: drone racing is one of those things that's been made a popular thing because it gets [6405.94] Zoe: like attention in the media [6407.94] Zoe: It sounds cool and sexy [6410.42] Zoe: And there's a lot of money being poured into it from different areas in the industry [6415.7] Zoe: and realistically though drone racing is such a small segment of um, [6421.7] Zoe: I just had a machine fall over [6423.54] Zoe: a small segment of the whole industry and [6428.26] Zoe: I think we kind of gotten so hyper focused as a community as an industry that we're forgetting about [6434.18] Zoe: The wider fpv community that exists beyond it. I mean [6438.98] Zoe: That's that's the thing like when I got into it drone racing was not a thing [6442.58] Zoe: Like it was about flying in the field the freedom that fpv gave you [6447.3] Jack: I don't think territory that's the same for me [6450.42] Jack: didn't exist [6452.26] Andy: Yeah, I think I think it's really I think it's really interesting the connection that it has with skating because I only found this out [6459.38] Andy: recently because I [6460.98] Andy: Could never do skateboarding, but all the terminology and sort of you look like you should be singing songs about speed [6470.58] Jack: You went out with avril Lavigne [6472.9] Jack: Maybe for lunch. I wish no, but like do you think she's been replaced? Sorry? [6479.06] Jack: I think she's been replaced by a little like or i've been hanging around tony for too long [6486.82] Andy: Who's been replaced have you never heard this? No, I haven't frank. Do you know what i'm going on about? [6492.82] Frank: I know what you're going on what i'm trying to get at though [6495.54] Andy: And some people some viewers might not know this but the all of the terms that were here ripping [6501.84] Andy: Shredding and when someone says the word spotlight, this is a great spot [6507.06] Andy: Those are all skateboarding terms and I know I didn't realize that it's really and if you look at professional skateboarders [6515.14] Andy: Such as tony hawke ban marcher or whatever. They all had their own. No. No, we don't class him [6522.5] Andy: Yes, of course you do [6525.06] Andy: Millionaire skateboarder you have to class [6529.06] Andy: Well anyways what i'm trying to get at is [6531.22] Andy: Fvv is following that model because they would release their own boards and we have people having their own [6538.42] Andy: Uh frames for example tony recently released history. Oh, no [6547.06] Andy: It was a segue jack because that's what I was trying to do [6550.26] Frank: It's the frame to myself [6552.58] Andy: I saw [6554.5] Andy: I saw on facebook. There was a picture of a frame [6557.38] Andy: It looked like a stretched axe and it said tony's name on it. What's going on there? [6562.58] Frank: It's just a frame that me and my friend my friend helped me design [6567.06] Frank: I just wanted a simple frame which was easy to build easy to maintain [6572.66] Andy: So in tony if you want the review of this frame i'll give you my email address [6578.1] Andy: I'll send you an email. I swear to god. I will unsubscribe to you. It's great. It's got a v on it [6583.54] Andy: What's the v for tony? Oh [6585.54] Jack: What a vegan? [6588.1] Jack: Oh my god [6589.38] Andy: You know, why is it why there's a v? [6591.54] Andy: We may have I want to ask the girls actually do we have any other fellow vegans? [6597.3] Andy: in the uh [6598.82] Frank: It's not just a girl thing. Uh man thing girl thing, you know, of course, it's not but i'm interested i'm interested [6604.9] Jack: Yeah vegans gender neutral andy [6609.46] Andy: I'm not saying it's not I I really respect people who are vegan [6613.94] Zoe: Uh, there's a joke here. Um, I was gonna say I like meat [6620.1] Andy: But um, so does tony boy's vegan well, it's funny because like [6625.06] Zoe: The san actors especially where i'm from like it's it's vegan central. It's very a lot of vegans out here [6630.9] Zoe: It's like a lot of the restaurants. There's vegan only restaurants where i'm from and [6636.18] Frank: i'm coming [6638.1] Zoe: Yeah, no, but as far as vegan go, I don't know. I mean, I think angela is vegan [6642.1] Zoe: but i'm [6644.26] Zoe: cool [6646.02] Lexie: I'm not [6647.38] Lexie: I'm, sorry. I have to yay. We can hang out [6653.54] Frank: Oh look I don't discriminate about hanging out with you guys right i'm going now [6663.78] Jack: Um [6666.66] Jack: Avril Lavigne, yeah, I think she's been replaced with a [6670.58] Andy: Oh, dear. I love Avril Lavigne. What's i've not heard anything about you never heard [6675.62] Andy: I shall not have a bad word said about it [6678.98] Zoe: Special point where the show goes completely downhill. Yeah [6684.02] Andy: Usually after about five minutes, but you've done well [6689.22] Frank: We have been far too interested in the subject matter and having important things to talk about which is very rare [6696.26] Jack: Yeah [6697.46] Jack: I like talking about something that matters. Yeah [6703.62] Zoe: That's the back end and like one last thing like there's been so much drama and bullshit in the community about such [6709.7] Zoe: Bullshit things like people blowing up about random things that don't matter that [6715.38] Zoe: And I try to keep out of that drama [6716.9] Zoe: This is the first time and i'm not trying to start drama [6719.62] Zoe: But this is the first time where I felt like I need to say something and I I feel like this is something that makes [6725.22] Zoe: A real difference. So it's not me just being rah rah rah flip the table. You're right [6730.58] Lexie: But but most people know that I mean if you've been in the fpv community for a while, you know, you're not [6735.94] Lexie: I mean, you know, you won't just post something to post something you're absolutely [6740.9] Lexie: Very far off just bullshitting and saying something that's not actually really important. So I feel like the real people [6749.3] Lexie: well, I mean the people not real people but [6752.82] Lexie: Everyone who knows what you actually really meant with your post [6758.02] Lexie: Also knows what you that what you're saying is very true [6762.82] Lexie: so I shouldn't really I mean you shouldn't look at all the other ones because [6768.42] Lexie: Everyone's gonna say things that they might maybe not even mean that way but you'll get that [6775.86] Lexie: You just have to get over it and not look at those anymore [6779.7] Lexie: Yeah [6781.7] Lexie: Because I know you do and [6784.26] Zoe: Well, thank you for that. That means a lot coming from you and and it's yeah [6788.74] Andy: Oh my god white spies back and just make sure that you don't dive any bridges either because that's not cool [6796.74] Frank: Don't do that. That's an old thing [6799.46] Jack: Oh man, mikey dread real people are here supporting you ladies [6806.34] Jack: We're real people [6809.54] MG: Real people i'm so sorry [6812.18] Frank: I'm sure jack has been cloned though [6815.7] Jack: Yeah, like i'm so sorry out of all the people to support you. It's the idiot from the straight out. I think i'm so sorry [6824.26] Jack: I'm so sorry [6825.86] Jack: The most offensive show in the world [6829.22] Andy: One thing that's interesting is when you when you sort of I like what chad kappa said when he sort of said [6835.06] Andy: talking about bad comments is [6837.38] Andy: like [6838.82] Andy: Comments on youtube or facebook or whatever. It's kind of like people's road rage side in that when you're sat in a car [6845.7] Andy: And you're yelling at someone like they can't you know that this you can hide behind something [6851.38] Andy: I think the minute that you sort of go on video and he sort of said if [6855.54] Andy: If he was getting like a bad comment, he would actually video call them and that would stop them in their tracks [6861.46] Andy: and [6862.66] Zoe: And I think there's a lot. I actually did that to a couple people. I a few of the people in that chat [6867.94] Zoe: They're leaving horrible messages. So I was like, hey, what's let's have a chat sideline [6871.86] Zoe: And then I called them up through facebook, you know, like let's have a let's have a legit chat about this [6876.98] MG: Because that's the only way we're gonna move forward this whole [6891.22] Frank: I just imagine it being like a kind of you start the call, you know [6894.66] Zoe: Hi, can you read out just what you said just say those words [6909.22] Jack: That's what I enjoyed though, like I used to like rip on race flight loads and it was nothing better than getting [6917.46] Jack: My idol get so on and Preston and was like so [6922.34] Jack: What's this about this code you've stolen, you know, and it was it was just awesome watching the chat just blow up [6928.34] Jack: Do you know me? [6929.62] Jack: It's so much pussyfooting in this this hobby and hiding behind [6933.94] Frank: There's not a lot of pussyfooting about certain things I have [6936.9] Jack: Yeah on certain things but no like, you know [6938.66] Jack: Like being that person or being like face to face and like, you know [6941.94] Jack: Just enjoying the hobby and like having a laugh at people like there's some things that you watch on like the rote riot [6949.22] Jack: Like forum and you're just like, what are you guys arguing about? [6952.98] Jack: Do you know what I mean? Like like what are you and there's people there just like [6957.7] Jack: Do you know what I mean? There's people like wasting their lives like arguing on that. What is the point to do it? Seriously? [6964.98] MG: If you don't like something just don't comment yeah, and that's it or I don't know [6970.02] MG: We have so much negativity. I don't get it seriously [6973.54] Zoe: Yep, I've seen more negativity in this community the last year than I've seen combined beforehand [6980.74] Zoe: That's one thing I really hope that changes going forward is that the community realizes that's a community [6986.34] Zoe: That it's still a small community [6988.18] Zoe: It's not like fpv racing or fpv in general and flying is you know, this big wide thing that [6994.02] Zoe: Everyone's doing I mean the fact is I I had to find a friend and someone who lives in mexico [7000.04] Zoe: Like to be able to really you know relate and connect with somebody, you know [7004.04] Zoe: I had to go far reaching and that's it still speaks to this day. That's still a really small community [7010.6] Zoe: it is [7012.04] Zoe: And you know to grow that we have to be mindful of you know [7015.96] Zoe: how we go about ourselves and how we [7019.24] Zoe: You know try to support each other versus tear each other down less of the raw raw burn it down post more [7025.08] Zoe: Hey, this is a problem. I have an idea to fix it kind of thing, you know, like [7029.8] Zoe: It's and in general it's [7032.42] Zoe: Compassion. Yeah, like and and sadly, I think it's not just this community [7036.04] Zoe: But a lot of communities last year kind of lost their shit quote unquote [7040.12] Zoe: I mean with a lot of the weird stuff going on the world and I know in social media groups like reddit [7046.2] Zoe: Uh facebook basically any social media, you know outlet it's gone crazy over last year [7052.76] Zoe: It's gone to a point where it's really hard for people to feel welcomed in when there's like giant discussions that are really bad about [7059.08] Zoe: them, so [7060.68] Frank: Carlos is just putting in the chat [7062.76] Frank: I hate negativity and I hate all the negative people and I want to kill them and I hate them [7070.2] Frank: But in a positive way [7073.24] Andy: Carlos did a did a video like um called hot topic for a while which highlighted drama so [7080.68] Andy: I know he stopped it now though [7083.32] Andy: I call us and I still accept your proposal [7086.52] Jack: I uh, I I see I rag on carla [7090.36] Jack: But he was such a champion on the show that he's like carla's is funny. Did you see my heart? [7095.88] Andy: Like he dressed up his alley. He dressed up his leg and he looped you would not have known that wasn't yeah [7101.72] Andy: No way. Yeah [7105.16] Andy: Look it up look up carla's and alley he turned up at a race dressed as leg and [7111.88] Zoe: No way, that'd be amazing. Oh my god [7115.56] Zoe: Wait, was that one that was that was from the post where they because I remember back in the day like alley g [7120.28] Zoe: Showed up to a race and people were making like a thing of it. Was that anything related to that? [7124.68] Zoe: Yeah, it was [7127.64] Zoe: I thought that was [7129.72] Andy: Oh my god, yeah, no, that's Carlos. He looks just like him and he does a cracking borat impression [7137.56] Jack: The media 10 of the mini air show [7141.16] Jack: and was like shaking the hands of the [7145.16] Jack: What was it the mayor? [7147.48] Jack: Yeah [7149.72] Jack: I'm got a clue probably thought she met the real leg [7153.72] Jack: and like [7154.76] Jack: Just so weird [7157.24] Zoe: He did like the fist bump and she just shook his fist [7170.12] Windestål: I was out playing something yesterday [7172.28] Windestål: I'll be flying David something that has four spinny things [7178.84] Windestål: Traitor [7183.96] Windestål: It's a rocket car [7190.2] Windestål: It didn't fly too good [7193.64] Windestål: Where's the wheel gone the front yeah in the back and the whole [7198.04] Zoe: It [7203.0] Windestål: That's a [7204.68] Windestål: let's see, it's a [7206.36] Windestål: g class rocket [7209.08] Windestål: I think or an f class [7211.64] Windestål: Yes, an f class. So it has a 150 pounds of thrust [7216.76] Windestål: and it burns for about [7220.52] Windestål: Let's point it straight down I balanced it vertically and horizontally [7227.64] Frank: Well, I don't know if you say that but anyway g class is god damn that's fast an f class is freaking out [7237.32] Windestål: Yep, uh, it worked pretty good it flew, um, maybe 50 meters in the air and then landed pretty hard [7245.4] Jack: road control car and flow [7248.36] Andy: Shouldn't be in the same sentence. It looks like it's in one piece to me though [7252.52] Windestål: Yeah, it's actually not too bad. Like I can still I have spare parts [7257.56] Windestål: Uh, i'll go again. This is actually a second attempt [7261.72] Jack: Fox body plate. Yeah, or is that still? [7266.36] Windestål: No, it's still in the box because I am broken the other one. I don't know if you can see it [7270.44] Windestål: No, I probably can't I mill the scene. Um, I mill the four millimeter carbon plate to replace it [7277.48] Windestål: So I can fold the rocket in [7280.68] Andy: What's the idea then David with it pointing is it to fly upwards? [7285.8] Windestål: Yes, so you jump over an obstacle like the bathmobile or something [7294.04] Windestål: It worked so good my wife was there filming [7297.96] Andy: Is this the next episode? [7301.22] Windestål: Probably hopefully maybe how many times a day do you get held you're not [7309.88] Windestål: I don't know. It's it. I have a filter for it now [7313.24] Andy: Something definitely wrong with that sweet. How are you coping with it going dark at like 2 p.m. David? [7320.6] Windestål: It's not it's not so good. No, it's [7325.56] Windestål: Yeah, it literally is like 2 p.m [7327.4] Andy: nuts [7328.28] Andy: We're on about four o'clock here and that's that's I think the worst it gets is about three o'clock [7333.96] Andy: But yeah, it must be crazy for you there [7337.16] Windestål: Yeah last year during the month of december. We had 20 minutes of sun hitting the ground [7345.32] Andy: That's like [7348.36] Windestål: Rainy or snowing. Yeah, it was horrible. That's what we get all year. No wonder you've gone a bit weird [7359.96] Frank: Have you found that [7362.6] Windestål: Barn yet [7366.04] Windestål: No one wanted to give me a barn you probably saw your videos went no [7374.84] Windestål: No, it's good i'm gonna throw the [7377.64] Windestål: We'll see if I have time tomorrow. I'll probably mount the the rocket on a plane and maybe a [7383.56] Windestål: tricopter we'll see [7385.56] Jack: I'll play it like boom copter and my sewing machine foot pedal [7392.84] Andy: That's right, I love how nonchalant david is he's like, oh yeah tomorrow. I'll probably just put a rocket on a plane and yeah [7401.24] Andy: That's my day done nice. Yeah [7403.8] Windestål: I love having tools man. Oh, it's fantastic [7408.2] Jack: I i've got i've got one of these [7411.16] Jack: Uh mini pyro flash, you know the fountain [7415.32] Jack: Yeah things on the tv show long duration. So this is for andrew [7420.76] Jack: I don't know. We're gonna find out [7424.28] Andy: From digby dan. Is this uh, is this hashtag ruining the harpy jack? [7434.6] Jack: Hashtag probably gonna kill each other [7442.92] Jack: I'm constantly like telling david that he's gonna cut his knob off [7447.64] Jack: really like [7449.56] Windestål: Please don't it's it's fine. I did some sketches yesterday. No, it's not [7454.12] Jack: Right next to it with a helicopter. It's like, you know choppy that way [7459.32] Jack: Spitty choppy that way [7461.32] Andy: I just I I just wonder how much they [7465.0] Andy: I wonder how much david shoots and it can't go online because it's so sketchy [7475.4] Windestål: Like uh, it was a long long time ago [7479.0] Windestål: tricopter version two [7481.96] Windestål: Me and chad went out and flew over an oil [7486.82] Windestål: Refinery. Wow [7490.6] Windestål: Guards with guns and things and we [7494.36] Frank: Adore when it was done [7496.36] Windestål: Yeah, it was dark and it's all lit up with these [7499.24] Windestål: Huge lights everywhere. Oh, it's absolutely gorgeous really good footage, but then they're like [7505.56] Windestål: Maybe we shouldn't post that [7508.28] Jack: We'll talk about it for the podcast instead [7513.24] Andy: Equally legally viable a flying spark flying over oil [7521.56] Jack: What is wrong with you [7524.44] Jack: Oh, um curry everyone [7528.6] Jack: Hello everyone, he's got a daughter and he's let her fbv [7533.26] Andy: They [7535.58] Andy: Let's hear about that [7538.38] Curry: I remember when it first come out. Yeah, she [7541.18] Curry: She's not that into it. You can't force these things. That's the only things we had a good fly around. I was on [7547.58] Curry: We did some indoor stuff on like, you know, the little toy quads and then I built her a little 250 just on three-cell [7554.7] Curry: And I was on sort of a trainer radio and she was on her one so I could just take the control back [7560.3] Curry: But she did sort of one flight of that and she was all a bit sort of jittery with it [7564.3] Curry: But I took her out not long ago with one of those little [7568.54] Curry: The bugs too. I think andy reviewed that as well. It's a little gps [7572.06] Andy: Oh, yeah [7572.78] Curry: It kind of crosses the line between sort of toy drone and a hobby drone doesn't it because it's got a decent gps [7577.26] Curry: Hold and returned home and she had some fun flying that but [7580.86] Curry: She's not I can't force her into it. Unfortunately. I think it's it's now becoming uncool because I do it rather than cool [7587.66] Curry: because it's on youtube [7588.94] Frank: So yeah, this is like whatever that doesn't do never gonna be it's never gonna be cool, is it? [7595.02] Frank: No [7596.06] Curry: But i've gone the other way now it it's fun to be very uncool [7599.66] Curry: Especially when connecting it from school if you just do some dad dancing [7605.34] Jack: Oh god, we lost about 20 viewers then [7608.94] Jack: I can't stop getting you on it [7610.94] Zoe: We're talking about like the point like this over the next year. This is something that I didn't get a chance to talk about [7616.3] Zoe: I think this is a big point is that [7618.68] Zoe: ftv [7619.58] Zoe: In general had a massive surge of interest from a lot of places from media [7624.76] Zoe: Interest from some sponsor interest from like people trying to turn it into drone racing tv shows [7631.26] Zoe: But the inflection point for price for people to get into the hobby [7635.66] Zoe: Didn't hadn't really been there yet [7638.38] Jack: And I see we like that keep the riffraff out [7641.1] Jack: Yeah, but this is the biggest [7643.82] Jack: David at uni lads [7647.18] Jack: Oh [7649.18] Andy: Sorry, though [7651.42] Andy: I agree, Zoe. It's it's an expensive thing to get into, isn't it? [7655.74] Zoe: But the thing is though is that's changing. So let's say i'm just going for example back when I got into it [7661.02] Zoe: You couldn't get a micro fpv setup [7663.5] Zoe: Just really didn't exist [7665.34] Zoe: and then [7666.3] Zoe: When you got the first through the first like real micro fpv rtf kit was like the nano qx [7672.78] Zoe: like fpv kit came with a screen and a transmitter and it cost [7678.04] Zoe: 400 right a little micro machine 400 bucks [7683.42] Zoe: The following year the same kind of setup cost about 200 [7687.42] Zoe: And this year you can get goggles transmitter a tiny loop clone [7692.54] Zoe: Plus battery and charger for 65 on banggood. Yeah, it's true [7697.74] Zoe: The cost of this has gone down to the same price as a traditional video game [7703.42] Zoe: You know it's gone to the price point where you can gift the gift of fpv [7708.38] Zoe: Where you can buy a complete kit that offers a very decent experience not a watered down version of you know [7716.46] Zoe: a toy kit but a hobby level experience [7720.3] Zoe: To the general consumer and because of that [7724.22] Zoe: We're finally at the point in time where we can finally see whether or not the market will really grab on to it properly [7731.9] Zoe: Because it's at that price point inflection point where we can give fpv as a stocking stuffer gift to basically anybody [7739.26] Zoe: I mean i've bought in video games for my friends in the past. That was a routine gift this year [7744.78] Zoe: I'm actually going to be able to buy my friends [7747.5] Zoe: Full fpv setups to gift out to people that I think might find it enjoyable [7753.02] Zoe: Yeah, and that's something that would have been a really big cost sink to do [7757.74] Windestål: Like just a year ago. That would be so awesome. Imagine if you're a kid and you got that man [7765.18] Jack: Yes [7767.26] Jack: Best army in the world [7773.34] Zoe: It's like that's over the next year we're finally at that point where fpv has a chance to go mainstream [7780.22] Zoe: As far as the general public goes. I mean drones toy drones have gone mainstream [7785.26] Zoe: But a proper fpv experience still has been a little bit out of reach of the average consumer [7791.26] Andy: So I think that I think that kit that you're talking about is the ishi and e013 which is basically a tiny woop [7798.86] Andy: It costs 65 you get fpv goggles transmitter tiny woop style aircraft [7806.06] Andy: I I reviewed it. I really liked it. If anyone's wondering what is that package? I've personally found them [7814.78] Frank: So so jack, uh, when are you doing your review on the your review? [7819.98] Jack: I'm not talking about that. Yeah, it might be some weirdo [7823.98] Frank: No, definitely some weirdo, but I don't go on jack [7827.66] Jack: No, I don't want to talk about it [7830.86] Frank: We want you to talk about it because I like it when you're awkward and [7836.78] Jack: Some weirdo probably knows where I live now [7843.1] Jack: No, oh god i'm on a list because of you somewhere [7847.74] Frank: Um, so [7849.82] Frank: Going back to what zu was saying about the cards getting really cheap. Um, I mean we've got a listener phil parslow who's been [7857.66] Frank: Uh on our facebook page and messaging us there and talking about his his kind of what he's going through at the moment catching up [7863.66] Frank: on all the old podcast episodes [7865.98] Frank: And um, he's talking about how he's on a really really tight budget putting together [7871.66] Frank: A proper proper setup and he's he's got away with it. But I think it was under a [7876.78] Frank: What under a hundred dollars? Yep, it's a it's totally possible. I i've seen [7883.34] Jack: Really [7887.26] Zoe: No, that's the funny thing is like it's it's the experience that you can get for the price has actually gotten really cheap [7894.22] Zoe: um [7895.5] Zoe: That's the point. It's like you can't buy a video game system right now for a hundred bucks [7901.34] Zoe: Like ftv is not that plain [7903.58] Jack: I could buy mega drive for 30 [7907.5] Andy: A bit modern modern system, but yeah, you know what i'm talking about [7911.26] Andy: The problem is jack won't uh accept anything that doesn't run kiss you see [7916.38] Andy: So that's where that's where he's confused. But there are systems out there [7922.46] Andy: There are systems out there that are much cheaper and open open source that you can uh, yeah [7928.46] Jack: right for the stealing of race flight, yeah [7931.74] Jack: I [7933.1] Zoe: On that note, uh race flight like i'm a big uh believer in open source [7938.94] Zoe: And seeing that happen within the community was kind of hurtful [7943.18] Andy: It's a good job. Preston's not on here then because he has different [7954.14] Jack: Literally he tolerates me [7956.14] Andy: I can I can understand where Preston I can understand where Preston comes from because uh a lot of money [7963.18] Andy: Sorry a lot of money a lot of money gets lost with the open source thing [7967.1] Andy: That's why if you buy something from banggood, it's flash would beat a flight because it's open source and [7973.34] Andy: And they they can just put it on there [7975.66] Andy: But you know, I think when people like Preston trying to make uh money [7981.18] Andy: Out of the system. It's very difficult with with how cheap stuff is from china and things like that [7986.46] Zoe: So I see the difference between trying to make money and close sourcing stuff, you know [7991.5] Zoe: I mean what race flight did was a little different than [7995.1] Zoe: Just like driving an open source product like beta flight. They had their own board. It was open source based board [8001.42] Zoe: Nays nays like time cop back in the day [8003.82] Zoe: Like that was the whole thing with the time cop is he wanted a better board [8007.18] Zoe: So he made a better board and he open sourced the software [8009.9] Andy: So so what's your what's your particular sort of beef with race flights? [8014.78] Zoe: Just the potential close sourcing and using open source code within a closed source project and making money for it [8020.46] Zoe: And not contributing back to the larger scene in general [8023.74] Zoe: um [8024.7] Frank: Because I think the idea was that the the the code had been written by the open source community [8031.18] Frank: um [8032.54] Frank: They'd put that effort in [8034.54] Frank: um to that code [8036.38] Frank: On the basis that everyone's going to benefit from it and people are going to feed back into that [8040.94] Frank: So it's kind of everyone's doing some work, but everything everyone gets something out of it. And then [8046.06] Frank: the question I mean, I think [8048.52] Frank: Preston isn't [8050.14] Frank: Is is he's arguing that he didn't take this code, but you know, that's kind of something that's contentious [8057.1] Frank: um [8058.22] Frank: and then whether you know if you did take that code and [8062.54] Frank: then started making a [8064.78] Frank: closed source [8066.78] Frank: Project from that open source code that people have put time into then that's kind of a dick move [8072.54] Frank: right [8073.9] Frank: so that was the [8075.5] Frank: That's the debate [8078.06] Zoe: And i've been a and i've been a part of the open source community long before I was a part of the drone community [8083.1] Zoe: so that to me I saw that kind of movement and [8086.78] Zoe: I don't know. I I think they're learned from it [8088.46] Zoe: I think it's it's definitely something i'm glad the community had a conversation about because it was something that we need to have a [8094.14] Zoe: conversation about [8095.98] Zoe: And it's the biggest thing though right now and one of the biggest issues. I think the industry has that innovation is cloned [8103.02] Zoe: Innovators have a hard time making any kind of their money back off of creating the innovations because as soon as it's on the market [8110.94] Zoe: Five other people are able to copy the idea and essentially saturate the market faster than your product can get out onto the market [8119.02] Zoe: so [8120.38] Zoe: unless you [8122.54] Zoe: Unless you have a truly new patentable design that has no like it doesn't [8127.66] Zoe: Completely different you have to do something basically completely different than industry standards in order to have it not copied outright [8134.14] Jack: Yeah, and then you have to start [8136.54] Jack: From the beginning again. There's no standing your shoulders of joints [8140.54] Zoe: Right. So that's that's kind of kiss kiss still hasn't really been copied. That's a closed source project and [8147.02] Zoe: It's still that's another thing with kiss hardware [8149.5] Zoe: There's a whole open source kissing debate. I use open source hardware and I use closed source hardware [8155.9] Zoe: Uh kiss is interesting in the fact that they a lot of their closed source developments [8161.42] Zoe: They still give back to the community like deshot. That was one of the features originally. I believe developed in-house with them [8168.06] Zoe: They saw deshot [8170.14] Jack: Sorry, no, I found out I talked to dominic clifton and it was [8175.74] Jack: get this it was [8178.36] Jack: Originally, you know the led addressable led. Yeah that it was originally that code and they took part [8187.5] Jack: So it was because it was open sourced right [8191.02] Jack: Kiss worked took that open source play a bit like oh we can turn this into deshot like they looked at it [8197.26] Jack: It was like this is what we're trying to do. We'll use some of that and then they kept it open [8202.46] Zoe: That's what i'm saying is that they kept that part of it. Yes, Preston won't ever leave [8206.62] Jack: Multishot because yeah, it works only on his he doesn't even give you the option to use [8213.26] Jack: Tony does it give you the option to use deshot or anything? [8217.74] Frank: Or have you got to use multi? I think when uh, [8221.18] Frank: Preston was on that he was talking about the future developments and [8225.72] Frank: Changing like the whole protocol completely and I think when we asked him about it [8229.42] Frank: Then he said he was just gonna leave it as it is until [8233.02] Frank: He's got these all these other bits of hardware going running on a completely different bus system [8239.98] Windestål: Sorry [8250.14] Windestål: Everyone's just waiting for someone to bring it up [8255.26] MG: No, it's not like that, you know, like I want to go I need to go [8262.7] Jack: Yeah, yeah, we can keep the stream running but it will just turn into curry kit in [8268.06] Jack: breaking [8275.34] Jack: No, if you comment earlier i'll let you in [8281.9] Frank: That's why you're not in earlier though, isn't it?
