[158.72] IBCrazy: top the problem is that the cable isn't soldered underneath it won't grab or you'll think it'll
[163.6] IBCrazy: grab and it won't so you actually solder the cable twice you solder it before you put the ufl in
[169.04] IBCrazy: put the ufl in crimp it then you re solder to be sure it doesn't come out um but even then they're
[175.12] Jack: weak can you get a hand crimping two separate hand crimping tools there's it got to be that

[233.92] Jack: i'd have stuck a five and they've all gone oh yeah yeah it's quite funny that's what that's
[240.32] IBCrazy: that's what happens if you get something that goes well this this antenna luckily that i'm
[244.72] IBCrazy: releasing here is uh we've got enough uh we've actually got a fairly decent stockpile of them now
[251.52] IBCrazy: so we can actually fill orders fairly fast i and i say fairly fast as in though we've got a
[258.08] IBCrazy: stockpile they're not all finished all the way um because i had to buy an ultrasonic welder to
[264.4] IBCrazy: weld the cap together um and so we have like 500 or so probably more than that that don't have the
[272.0] IBCrazy: cap welded on so we've got to put them through the welder and then finish them but yeah so but uh
[279.52] IBCrazy: one of the things that i've been doing uh and i've been making i've been fairly public about it i'm
[285.44] IBCrazy: actually going through my entire product line and redesigning everything yeah i wrote that on the
[291.12] IBCrazy: blog post yeah everything yeah um and so there's you know it all started basically with the ion
[299.04] IBCrazy: you know you needed a smaller um circularly polarized antenna so um i came up with the ion
[304.88] IBCrazy: which happens to be the highest gain circularly polarized uh omnidirectional single omnidirectional
[310.0] IBCrazy: antenna available um and so that was the idea i made a small high gain and then i went back to
[317.12] IBCrazy: the drawing board and said how can i make that even smaller and then of course with the following
[321.84] IBCrazy: which will come out and uh you'll probably be available in stores in about a week or two
[327.04] IBCrazy: is the minion which is mini ion one of the girls that uh works for me came up with that one
[332.64] IBCrazy: so that's um you know an even smaller version um the ion will eventually get a rev 2 um i got the
[341.04] IBCrazy: prototype covers in the second generation uh rev 2 covers because the first one didn't work um
[347.44] IBCrazy: and it seems it seems like everything is pretty good so i you know as soon as we finish testing
[353.44] IBCrazy: we'll hit the go button to produce them um similar specs to the ion but on a longer cable
[359.2] IBCrazy: um a little bit smaller antenna head not by much um but on a longer cable mainly uh geared towards
[366.88] IBCrazy: receivers you know a lot of people like to mount the antenna on their goggles and if that antenna
[370.88] Jack: can clear your head that's that's always better for so you made one for uh steel didn't you uh
[377.36] IBCrazy: yeah but that was that was a rev 1 that was a first generation this is just um this is this
[383.52] IBCrazy: the rev 2 is it's not really much higher performance maybe a little bit it's just
[387.84] IBCrazy: a lot easier to manufacture um and the cases are the covers are going to be welded together so
[392.48] IBCrazy: that's coming um so even the ion is getting uh is getting revamped already another one that's coming
[400.72] IBCrazy: out in i don't know probably three months or so it's called the switch blade and good luck
[408.4] IBCrazy: importing that to the uk well the switch blade is an antenna it's an omnidirectional antenna where
[414.24] Frank: you can reverse the rotation you might have to do a whole eel and musk thing of like not a switch
[419.28] IBCrazy: blade yeah well so i don't even i don't know if i have a i have like 3d printed parts um that aren't
[426.56] IBCrazy: going to fit but yeah you might call it a ninja star in the 80s well what happens with the switch
[432.16] IBCrazy: blade is you've got this everybody's got these cheap stock whips that come with their stevers
[438.64] IBCrazy: in that they're terrible but what we do is we take these and we tune them so they work properly
[445.52] IBCrazy: then i man we're going to manufacture this cover it'll slide over top of it turning it
[451.68] IBCrazy: circularly polarized and i've already demonstrated it working um you know that was oh gosh nice
[458.72] IBCrazy: witchcraft alex kill it with fire yeah so what makes all those people that have um you know
[466.48] IBCrazy: you know that want a cheap circularly polarized antenna um that they have the stock whip the
[471.44] IBCrazy: cap's going to be like five or six dollars drop it on your whip and it actually turns circular
[476.08] IBCrazy: but the cap is only going to be as good as the whip underneath it so um you know we get we get
[483.44] IBCrazy: whips the same whips that everybody else buys but we have the manufacturer make them a little
[487.12] IBCrazy: bit differently so and then we get them in um dismantle them tune them because they're
[494.32] IBCrazy: never tuned right tune them in and then we're going to be manufacturing these caps which will
[499.28] IBCrazy: have a a set of parasitic elements inside it so the what happens the dipole will emit
[505.52] IBCrazy: and then there'll be a cage inside here of free floating wires that twist and direct the signal
[511.44] IBCrazy: to turn it rotation so sick that's coming out um even even started coming out with some control
[519.28] IBCrazy: stuff too uh the the good old pepper box and crosshair yep those are getting redesigned too
[525.68] IBCrazy: i should say getting redesigned they've been um i love that i love it i wish you
[532.24] Frank: looked at asked if you were gonna make a new uh bluebeam ultra 2.4 uh the bluebeam ultra is
[540.24] IBCrazy: getting replaced by the bluebeam pro and the parts are on their way to prototype them so the
[547.12] IBCrazy: bluebeam pro is a different style of antenna um it's not going to be the folded wires anymore
[552.8] IBCrazy: it's going to be um so you're probably familiar with the tbs triumph so i took the tbs triumph
[561.28] IBCrazy: um and used a different type of element um and so if you've seen uh posts from tbs you've seen
[570.48] IBCrazy: that that diamond antenna i designed okay so right well so take a tbs triumph give it five elements
[581.2] IBCrazy: and make the elements this or this if you want this is the 433 version that's a 2.4 version
[589.84] IBCrazy: these are coming out probably in three to four probably two to three weeks this is the microwave
[595.12] IBCrazy: diamond for 2.4 for 2.4 control and that's the 433 megahertz version so this is so for the since
[605.04] IBCrazy: long range is getting to be popular again i've got an upgraded antenna for the uhf systems um
[610.88] IBCrazy: obviously trappy has a 900 megahertz for his crossfire so this is for 433 um simple upgrade
[617.68] IBCrazy: for your 2.4 antenna and then the bluebeam pro will use elements just like these and a five
[624.8] IBCrazy: point configuration uh similar to the tbs triumph so it's a similar style you've been very busy
[632.8] IBCrazy: yeah that's and by the way i haven't even mentioned all the stuff i'm doing this is just
[636.48] IBCrazy: this is this is just like half of it so yeah it's and the thing is is what what initially
[644.32] IBCrazy: prompted this was you know the need for a smaller uh five point eight gigahertz on the um and a
[650.56] IBCrazy: higher performance one that so that you know it started with the ion and then to make it smaller
[655.36] IBCrazy: we did the minion but the truth is um a certain vendor it really kick started this a certain
[664.48] IBCrazy: vendor made me very angry um and so what happened and they'll remain nameless but i'm
[671.44] IBCrazy: sure some it won't take very long before you figure out who i'm talking about
[677.52] IBCrazy: then you decided that they would copy my work or go to somebody to copy my work and then become a
[684.64] IBCrazy: competitor so which you know if you want to be a if you want to be a manufacturer of antennas fine
[692.16] IBCrazy: but don't use my work to do it um and it was my second biggest vendor at the time and so i said
[700.96] IBCrazy: you know look you've got to make it obvious that it's not a copy at least i said i change the cover
[707.2] IBCrazy: change the cover so it's not an obvious copy and i will you know i'll pay for it i'll actually
[713.76] IBCrazy: pay for a new mold before this comes out so nobody ever has to know just change the mold
[720.24] IBCrazy: at the very least i'd rather you change the internals because it's pretty obvious
[726.56] IBCrazy: and i had a couple of discussions and uh they basically said no we're not going to do that
[731.84] IBCrazy: and i said look it's going to be the worst decision you'll ever make business-wise i
[735.2] IBCrazy: promise you that i am not going to tell you what my plan is i expect you to change it
[740.72] IBCrazy: they didn't so in light of that when their uh copy came out um you know the deal is is every
[749.36] IBCrazy: antenna that i design after the release of that copy they are not allowed to have
[754.72] IBCrazy: which means every single product i am manufacturing in the near future i'm basically
[760.96] IBCrazy: reviewing my entire product line um one of them is one you know one of them is the product that
[769.28] IBCrazy: they copied upgraded an upgraded version of what they copied it's like look if you were gone to
[774.56] IBCrazy: somebody who knew what they were doing they could have done this had they knew what they were doing
[778.16] IBCrazy: but instead you decided to copy that's not right so my intent is like look you could sell everything
[785.12] IBCrazy: that you've sold mine currently and that's not a problem but uh anything that's new which is
[791.2] IBCrazy: everything i'm doing in just about now no and yeah i don't care how big of a vendor you are

[805.36] Tony: can you ask him what he thinks about clones but you'll just say and everything
[809.2] IBCrazy: now so well look the truth is there's there there there are different levels of clones
[816.24] IBCrazy: um there are ones that are directly if you would clone my work and take it to another industry
[822.48] IBCrazy: that's not right but i'm not going to exactly jump down your throat about it's like well you're
[826.72] IBCrazy: you're not really competing with me you just took my work which is published
[831.28] IBCrazy: some of it is at least especially if you took my published work then go for it you know whatever
[836.0] IBCrazy: but when you when you take somebody's work and then use it to attempt to put them out of business
[841.6] IBCrazy: with their own work that's wrong it's wrong on many levels it's not that oh it's a cheap copy it's
[847.6] IBCrazy: like well they did a lot of work whether it's an antenna a video transmitter a frame a motor it
[853.84] IBCrazy: doesn't matter they put a lot of work in and they've had a lot of trial and error to that i
[858.4] IBCrazy: mean my prototyping costs so far this year of all this new product is fourteen thousand dollars
[863.68] IBCrazy: and i haven't even sold the first one yet so yeah that's my prototyping cost 14 grand and i haven't
[870.8] IBCrazy: sold one yet now granted hopefully tomorrow i'll start selling um and recover some of that
[876.72] IBCrazy: investment but yeah so so when you take that it's like you're skipping all of that cost
[882.72] IBCrazy: fourteen thousand dollars worth of cost you're skipping all that because you can just copy it
[887.44] IBCrazy: and then release it at a lower price because you're now manufacturing it in china versus
[892.0] IBCrazy: a developed country and that kind of stuff and you don't ever and guess what they they did the
[896.16] IBCrazy: marketing for you because they amped up this product whatever it was and look i have a copy
[901.12] IBCrazy: that's cheaper because i don't have to pay for the advertising nor do i have to pay for the rnd
[905.44] IBCrazy: and that's one of the biggest problems i have of clones is they don't just seek to take the
[910.16] IBCrazy: product they seek to take everything away from the innovator but then you look at the the worst
[916.24] IBCrazy: type of clone that's a fake and i see these all the time on ebay and amazon in fact most things
[924.4] IBCrazy: you're going to buy fpv related on ebay and amazon are fakes uh i had a guy and this happens about
[930.72] IBCrazy: every week or so i somebody breaks a tbs triumph and they go hey this shouldn't have broken or
[938.24] IBCrazy: what the heck is this in here this isn't right and it's like it's a fake and i and i i have them
[945.04] IBCrazy: take pictures of it i look at it go oh they didn't quite copy me right right there it's a fake you
[950.32] IBCrazy: know and i can point out a fake once it's broken open because they didn't do it right uh there was
[954.88] IBCrazy: a tbs triumph that had five of the five elements in it instead of eight you know um the guy was
[961.36] IBCrazy: like no they're not in there look and he's showing me the coverage like huh i wonder if that got
[967.28] IBCrazy: messed up and i zoom in on the board real quick and he didn't like ah the s curve is reversed
[972.96] IBCrazy: it's a fake you know i there's a microstrip right in an s curve that's like it's a fake so uh
[980.72] IBCrazy: that's that's a really big problem because now there are these seemingly authentic ones out there
[986.72] IBCrazy: that aren't even even they're they're claiming to be authentic that are absolute fakes you know um
[992.72] IBCrazy: so if you see something out there that's going for an really low price on amazon or ebay it's a
[998.88] IBCrazy: fake if it's cheaper on ebay or amazon then you can get it from an fpv vendor i promise you it's
[1004.64] IBCrazy: a fake i promise you that because amazon charges so much for warehousing probably 40 30 to 40 percent
[1012.24] IBCrazy: of the cost of the product is amazon's warehousing charge so compared to you know most dealers are
[1019.36] IBCrazy: being offered anywhere between 20 and 30 percent um markup um so if amazon could sell it cheaper
[1028.48] IBCrazy: if it's sell cheaper on amazon that means the vendor whoever the dealer got or the the salesperson
[1033.6] IBCrazy: got it yeah which means which means it's a fake so um that's that's one of the more than clones
[1042.32] IBCrazy: fakes are are really really upset me um but there's very very little you can do about it
[1050.16] IBCrazy: i mean amazon doesn't really do much to check that neither is ebay they're just they just
[1055.36] IBCrazy: kind of say well you have to prove to us that that's that's a fake um and they don't know
[1062.24] IBCrazy: anything about it well it doesn't and that doesn't matter then because if you say there's a fake and
[1066.72] IBCrazy: you can't sell it they're losing money they don't they don't want you to prove to them it's a fake
[1071.44] IBCrazy: so you're already um fighting against a lot of inertia by with that so you you have to go through
[1077.76] IBCrazy: a lot of work to shut down these fakes so uh what i decided to do with all the product i'm releasing
[1083.92] IBCrazy: now i'm patenting all of it now i'm writing the patents myself because the ion patent cost me
[1088.96] IBCrazy: like 75 000 dollars oh yeah and by the way uh i just got hit with a bill on um uh yesterday
[1096.88] IBCrazy: for eighteen thousand dollars for this it's not it's not cheap yeah but the good thing is is when
[1103.12] IBCrazy: i see a fake or a clone on amazon i could say that's a fake take it down they say how on what
[1107.6] IBCrazy: grounds have an attorney send him a letter you're going to be billed for every day that's still on
[1113.92] IBCrazy: your site thank you gone that's how you get rid of it it's not so much to sue somebody it's to
[1121.36] IBCrazy: threaten businesses like ebay and amazon when they want to because they're a fake and clone
[1126.08] IBCrazy: marketplace it's more of a way to get it taken down quickly you know before any damage is done
[1131.12] IBCrazy: because you know if a lot of what i'm making is very very very hard to copy accurately in fact
[1138.0] IBCrazy: you know i banged my head against the desk making the minion for like oh probably three weeks why
[1143.76] IBCrazy: does it keep failing i couldn't figure it out um and this is the inventor that's having a hard time
[1148.24] IBCrazy: doing it was it you can imagine overheating yeah so that's the thing is the instant the fakes start
[1155.12] IBCrazy: showing up they aren't going to work it's going to be blatantly obvious so the thing is it's going
[1161.12] IBCrazy: to give my product a bad name because they're claiming to be mine and they're not um so i
[1165.36] IBCrazy: need to shut that down quickly and that stinks because that's extra money that i've got to spend
[1169.84] IBCrazy: to defend my own reputation um you know against somebody who's stealing they're trying to they're
[1175.84] IBCrazy: stealing my work to use it against me just like most of them do we have a lot of these clone
[1180.56] IBCrazy: and then i've got to spend money to go after them so i save my reputation and you know save a lot
[1186.64] IBCrazy: of people that are buying the fakes a headache because they're deceiving everybody you know
[1190.72] IBCrazy: when you buy a fake it's just deceiving everyone there's no um you know nobody wins except the
[1197.12] Frank: the manufacturer of a fake so for our listeners um how can they make sure that they're not buying
[1204.72] IBCrazy: don't buy from amazon or ebay no seriously that's because a vendor a vendor's typically
[1210.32] IBCrazy: trying not to to steal fakes or clones some do but for the most part vendors try fvd vendors
[1215.92] IBCrazy: try to be honest um and you know the ones that aren't they they they're pretty it's pretty
[1221.68] IBCrazy: obvious which ones aren't um but if you're going to buy something from amazon or ebay make sure
[1226.48] IBCrazy: it comes from a reputable dealer like for example you're gonna buy a tbs trap from amazon make sure
[1231.04] IBCrazy: it comes from tbs avionics you know and not oh shung wen or you know whatever you know or crazy
[1239.44] IBCrazy: pony or you know okay these are these are fakes crazy pony yeah crazy pony maker fire those are
[1247.52] IBCrazy: the big ones um there are a bunch of them and the thing is you're trying to buy an authentic you're
[1253.92] IBCrazy: trying to buy something that works a fake doesn't care they they just have to make it look right
[1258.96] IBCrazy: and that's the end of it like i said they did a tbs triumph of five elements instead of eight it
[1263.2] IBCrazy: didn't work i'm surprised the guy didn't blow up his transmitter um but he was very disappointed
[1267.84] IBCrazy: in the performance so he broke it up he was like hey you guys forgot to put the other elements in
[1271.2] IBCrazy: it's like no they were never soldered to the board and so um and then when i realized that
[1278.4] IBCrazy: like i said the micro strip was done backwards like oh that's a fake he's like yeah i got it off
[1283.28] IBCrazy: of ebay maybe there's something to that so yeah that's the annoying man all your work you do
[1290.56] IBCrazy: yeah well it's i was talking to a very good friend of mine um at lunch on monday and i said you know
[1298.88] IBCrazy: nothing takes my heart out of it like the rampant dishonesty in this industry so it's uh i said
[1305.52] IBCrazy: it's it's it's not so much the it's it's the fact that it's accepted and and to the level that
[1316.0] IBCrazy: you know clones are okay no they're not you're you're trying to put an innovator out of business
[1324.08] IBCrazy: with their own product i mean it's kind of like me going going to your job and saying hey
[1329.84] IBCrazy: oh you don't need him i can work for half that price you know and just just don't worry he trained
[1336.4] IBCrazy: me you know it's like when somebody when you can imagine somebody you're you're you're supposed to
[1341.92] IBCrazy: train somebody at your job and then they end up replacing you you're you trained your replacement
[1347.36] IBCrazy: that's what this is that's what a clone is a fake is a totally different level and that's
[1352.8] Frank: that's what bugs me even more yeah that happened to me with the work experience boy at least if
[1358.64] Frank: you're training someone you're being paid to train them right you're like you're paying to
[1365.12] Frank: like develop the job and then they're just taking it right well that's but that's effectively what
[1370.56] IBCrazy: a clone does without any payment um and that that's quite honestly what's happening um and and you
[1377.2] IBCrazy: know a lot of people will say well i can't afford it well if you can't afford it why okay i can't
[1383.12] IBCrazy: afford a lamborghini but i'm not gonna go find a thief to steal one for me so i can afford it
[1388.8] IBCrazy: that's wrong okay and that's and that's where the clones come from you know that that's why
[1393.28] IBCrazy: the cloning is wrong it just imagine you can't pay for it because you don't whatever imagine
[1398.16] IBCrazy: if somebody came in to your job you trained them and then they replaced you you got fired
[1403.6] IBCrazy: that's what a clone does that's why it's wrong um you know what you're i guess you're probably
[1409.76] Frank: not saying like just don't get into fbv more what you're saying is buy just a generic you know
[1417.36] IBCrazy: well one of the things one of the things that you look out there is there's plenty of stuff out
[1421.04] IBCrazy: there that's that's for a reasonable price it's not a fake it's not a clone this this ion there
[1426.08] IBCrazy: the minion that's coming out it's 15 okay when that's less than the tbs triumph that's less than
[1432.48] IBCrazy: the spire net that's less than the axi okay and guess what all three of those that i named are
[1438.0] IBCrazy: made in china this is made in this is made 10 minutes down the street from my house at my shop
[1444.96] IBCrazy: okay and it's 15 it's gonna be 15 retail it's not too terribly expensive to buy an authentic
[1451.12] IBCrazy: you know it's but then when you look at multi rotor frames well you know they're they're multi
[1456.4] IBCrazy: there's a frame ready-made rc cells it's authentic it's 17 dollars you bought a clone because you
[1464.24] IBCrazy: like the look of it but you didn't want to pay the price of the innovator and that's a problem
[1469.6] IBCrazy: um that's that's a serious problem that that's basically i'll tell you straight out what it is
[1474.4] IBCrazy: it's greed it's straight up greed it's i want but i don't want to pay for it i want what the
[1482.16] IBCrazy: innovator came up with but i don't want i don't want to pay him for it i'd rather pay some a thief
[1489.2] IBCrazy: less that's just humans well and that's that's why my heart isn't really in this industry the
[1496.64] IBCrazy: way it was uh you know i you know the development i'm doing it for me really i'm not doing it for
[1503.84] IBCrazy: anybody else i used to do it for everybody else but now i'm just doing it for me just to do it

[1654.48] IBCrazy: work and feel like oh no i don't want to do this anymore um at that point you know it's just not
[1663.12] IBCrazy: worth it you know i've uh you know the truth is is i'm personal debt free i own my own home i
[1670.48] IBCrazy: i mean my grand my car's 12 years old my home is only two bedroom but on the other hand i don't
[1676.96] IBCrazy: have any debt that i have to pay off so i can live on a menial salary not comfortably so it my
[1684.8] IBCrazy: happiness is worth more it's it's it's worth it's worth more than going in and fighting this kind
[1690.0] IBCrazy: of stuff and and that's what one of the problems with with uh fpv originally fpv when i first
[1695.92] IBCrazy: started was all do-it-yourselfers um there weren't products really made for fpv you couldn't just go
[1702.08] IBCrazy: buy it uh you had to build it and so it was a community of people that really wanted to help
[1706.56] IBCrazy: each other and it was awesome because my business started because people were drinking through a
[1711.68] IBCrazy: fire hose and they went i don't want to build the antenna i just don't have time or and i feel i do
[1718.0] IBCrazy: it wrong i have so many other things i have to build will you build that for me well sure i would
[1724.08] IBCrazy: you know and so for those who didn't want to build their own they would buy from me
[1728.72] IBCrazy: uh and that's kind of was the start of the business and then as things grew um you know
[1733.76] IBCrazy: we got you got fpv specific products because people like me who were developing stuff and
[1738.64] IBCrazy: i'm not the only one there are plenty of them went said you know i can make a business out of this
[1742.64] IBCrazy: so several people did and thus the fpv revolution took off because these innovators figured out a
[1749.12] IBCrazy: way to manufacture these things um and it and went from do-it-yourself to you can buy it and install
[1755.84] IBCrazy: it and the unfortunate side is is the do-it-yourselfer is largely gone um and that's one of the biggest
[1763.92] IBCrazy: problems i have is that the boom in fpv um and mini quads and all that kind of stuff has pushed
[1771.28] IBCrazy: the do-it-yourselfer um away uh we as a community do not embrace the do-it-yourselfers like we used
[1778.0] IBCrazy: to and that's very unfortunate um i'm still a do-it-yourselfer at heart uh i guess it's kind of
[1783.04] IBCrazy: obvious but um you know i'd rather somebody build an antenna from my tutorials than buy
[1790.48] IBCrazy: one for me because the satisfaction you get from doing it right and and seeing it in your goggles
[1796.56] IBCrazy: when you go and fly it there's a pride yes i built this um and i wouldn't want to deny that to anybody
[1802.8] IBCrazy: i would i would i'd want everybody to experience that um so you know that's what the tutorials are

[1814.88] IBCrazy: the switchblade antenna i intend to open source it so the cap that goes on your rubber ducky

[1861.12] IBCrazy: literally made from hot glue paper clips a piece of electrical tape and pink styrene foam
[1867.12] IBCrazy: that was drilled out with a hole saw it's it's pretty funny when you look at it i i honestly
[1872.64] IBCrazy: and in the two the tutorial was shot over a month ago um i'm just waiting for the um finalized
[1878.96] IBCrazy: patent um to release it um but what's what happens is you take a hole saw you drill through a piece
[1886.16] IBCrazy: of styrene foam and it's a perfect plug for it's the right diameter that fits over the the dipole
[1892.56] IBCrazy: and the uh it's the right spacing for the element so you take hot you cut up a paper clip into the
[1897.84] IBCrazy: right lengths and you glue it on this piece of styrene foam then you wrap an electrical tape to
[1902.64] IBCrazy: protect it and it turns circular now mind you have to take apart the dipole to know where the actual
[1908.08] IBCrazy: that the whip antenna know where the element actually is inside that yeah so but they they
[1913.52] IBCrazy: all come apart they just pull right apart so you pull it apart and you slide your sleeve down so
[1917.6] IBCrazy: it's lined up and then you just put the cap right back on the antenna now you have a circular
[1920.72] IBCrazy: antenna and that's going to be open opened up to the public here shortly um so um which i don't
[1929.36] IBCrazy: know what people are going to make of it they might go wow that's ridiculous or wow that's really cool

[2247.6] IBCrazy: 17 000 into it to date it's a non-profit organization to race airplanes fpv airplanes
[2254.32] IBCrazy: um and so to try to recover some of that i will sell airplanes and stuff uh direct but the other
[2260.96] IBCrazy: reason to sell direct through that is to stop cheating because i open sourced an airplane called
[2265.92] IBCrazy: the the speck wing and i open sourced it published a plan to even my cnc machine code is out there
[2271.2] IBCrazy: and uh right wing rc decided to cheat the speck to make theirs better which is not the spirit
[2277.12] IBCrazy: of speck the spirit of speck is everybody has the same aircraft and it's all pilot skill and it's
[2282.72] IBCrazy: cheap it's supposed to be all inexpensive stuff well he cheated the speck and inflated his price
[2287.76] IBCrazy: so now whenever we get the site up and running which should be here in a little bit uh maybe a
[2292.64] IBCrazy: month or two you can't buy a speck wing from anybody but the fpv wra because that comes in
[2298.88] IBCrazy: and then we're going to unbox them measure them and verify that it's not cheating you know because
[2305.04] IBCrazy: cheaters do not make a sport fund for anybody so we have to get rid of the cheaters so that's

[2317.44] IBCrazy: will have a sticker in it that says it's a speck class approved so if you're at a race
[2323.76] IBCrazy: uh an fpv wra race and yours doesn't have that sticker on it then we know you didn't get it from

[2518.8] IBCrazy: six years ago um but you can see that it was there um but i was never able to get a system because
[2529.36] IBCrazy: they were threatened with an eternity of you're gonna get sued if you do this so my intent so i
[2533.44] IBCrazy: went through the patent database went through the entire thing after i developed by the way i did i
[2538.08] IBCrazy: never knew that reason i just they just disappeared and i really wanted to do combat so i'm like well

[2835.44] IBCrazy: during a day it's between 100 150 feet at night if you leave the day night switch in daylight

[2870.56] IBCrazy: know you you're you're laying in your hits so at night you get that instant feedback that yes
[2875.76] IBCrazy: i'm making a hit i can find my targets easily and then the day night switch if you don't set
[2880.8] IBCrazy: to night um it goes to 250 feet range which is still really long shot and yeah it's pretty easy
[2886.8] IBCrazy: to make it make a hit so um the way it works is there are two modes there's battle and race
[2892.96] IBCrazy: battle mode you have six seconds of damage after being hit when you're hit the entire airplane will
[2899.2] IBCrazy: shake your motor will pulse at a really high speed you're out of your motor and there there
[2905.28] IBCrazy: would be a buzzer on the airplane that will alarm and then there are lights on the airplane that'll
[2909.68] IBCrazy: go out so there's indication to both the shooter and the person being shot that yes you are being
[2915.76] IBCrazy: hit um and by the way the amount that it damages the airplane shakes the airplane is adjustable
[2920.32] IBCrazy: there's a little adjustment on it so if you have a a slow or more docile airplane you can turn that
[2925.36] IBCrazy: up and you can so you can feel when you're getting hit um or if you have a really reactive
[2930.24] IBCrazy: airplane you can turn it down um and then after um two and a half seconds of getting hit i take
[2936.64] IBCrazy: the plane out of trim i take a servo and take it out of trim so you'll roll or dive or climb
[2941.36] IBCrazy: or something like that so you know you're flying a wounded bird everybody who's flown knows when
[2946.48] IBCrazy: their bird's wounded they're like oh it starts it's still perfectly controllable but it's like
[2952.16] IBCrazy: oh boy i'm hit so it's simulating world war two dog fighting combat you know when those airplanes
[2960.48] IBCrazy: got shot up they didn't fly right you know you knew you were being hit so that's what it's
[2965.76] IBCrazy: simulating and then after another three and a half seconds of being hit uh i pulse the motor slowly
[2971.12] IBCrazy: i pulse the lights um i take your gun away and after 10 seconds of that power comes back on

[3013.2] IBCrazy: pulses okay their gun goes away and there's for six seconds that's all six seconds that gives you
[3020.64] IBCrazy: enough time to because their motor is is being pulsed basically giving 50 power so they have
[3025.44] IBCrazy: plenty of power to fly but you have full power so you can get in front of them but you gotta get
[3030.48] IBCrazy: far enough ahead of them then because as soon as that motor starts pulsing their gun is coming
[3035.04] IBCrazy: right on and guess who they're going to be shooting you so that's so we're making but it
[3042.4] IBCrazy: doesn't take control in race mode we don't take control the airplane the only thing we do is pulse

[3093.76] IBCrazy: working i realized something range video put nothing into it they just let me develop it
[3099.6] IBCrazy: and i'm like hey guys you know why don't you work on the osd i'm going to give you my somewhat
[3105.2] IBCrazy: working code it wasn't fully working but it was i got the game to play and it just it had it was
[3110.88] IBCrazy: really really buggy and i sent a range video and nothing happened i'm like guys what's going on
[3117.2] IBCrazy: you've got the basic code coded in get it into it because their osd their rvosd is all coded on one
[3123.52] IBCrazy: chip so they're going to put my code on top of it and they never did it and i'm like what's going
[3128.48] IBCrazy: on well we're trying to make it work well i heard back from him you know a while ago and i'm like
[3133.68] IBCrazy: okay yeah we've got we got the lsd working okay so so i said what's the cost they say it costs
[3138.8] IBCrazy: about a hundred bucks like what it's like oh yeah it's about a hundred dollars like no that's too
[3144.16] IBCrazy: expensive because if it's a hundred dollars for you that means it's 200 retail nobody's gonna buy

[3186.16] IBCrazy: that's a higher development cost and i have i need a bigger processor to process process information

[3196.56] IBCrazy: so i'm going to release this as cheaply as possible and then i'll work on the osd integration

[3258.24] IBCrazy: glide slope as a wing yeah right well you pulse it it'll start shaking you get a different feedback
[3263.84] IBCrazy: but if you want to put on a quad you can you just have to use pwm i know everybody's on the s bus
[3270.08] IBCrazy: kick right now so guess what it protects me because anybody who wants to steal this
[3276.88] IBCrazy: would then have to program it for s bus and figure out how to do it and i'm not publishing

[3294.08] IBCrazy: long range like long range quad those controls aren't going to be laggy you know it doesn't need

[3304.56] IBCrazy: a longer flight time anyway so um i'm going to do uh ppm and s bus later but right now i'm using

[3352.24] IBCrazy: pwm and s bus but um i don't know some claim they can i i personally can't um me my latency
[3360.24] IBCrazy: detection is about 28 to 29 milliseconds so i don't see where seven's gonna be an issue

[3640.56] IBCrazy: sent me a message to say hey we've been developing a very similar system ourselves
[3644.56] IBCrazy: and i said i don't want you to take this wrong way because we had no knowledge of yours i'm like oh
[3648.4] IBCrazy: that's awesome hey let's let's why don't here i'll send you my board you send me yours and let's
[3654.16] IBCrazy: make sure they're compatible so that we have one universal standard that we can we can fly combat
[3659.12] IBCrazy: with and he said well i'll have to ask the developer and the developer was not willing to
[3663.36] IBCrazy: do that he wasn't willing to give that up even though he knew that i was ahead of him and i
[3667.76] IBCrazy: actually had had gone further along in development he just didn't want to release what he had and um
[3675.6] IBCrazy: inevitably i found out that yet by looking at their episode that their system is compatible
[3681.68] IBCrazy: with ours by default it there's plays a little bit differently of course because they they're
[3686.8] IBCrazy: doing a little bit differently with it but you can buy the flight test system when it comes out and
[3690.8] IBCrazy: it will absolutely work with ours so it doesn't matter which one you buy it just how it plays
[3695.68] IBCrazy: however we haven't seen flight tests come out i think that's because of the patent issue
[3700.8] IBCrazy: because when i learned about it i told them i was like guys you need to know about this
[3705.84] IBCrazy: because i don't want you to get sued i don't want this to happen to you so i told them i'm
[3710.96] IBCrazy: going to write a patent and when i submit it you know i told them like i will give them an open
[3717.2] IBCrazy: license for it in other words i'll license theirs under my patent and i'm not i don't i don't want
[3722.32] IBCrazy: anything for it because i like flight tests i like what they're doing they're not trying to
[3726.96] IBCrazy: copy they came up with something authentic and i have the ability to protect them so i'm
[3731.44] IBCrazy: going to do that so i think i think what they're doing is waiting for that before they release
[3737.44] IBCrazy: theirs um they probably are going to do a little bit more development behind it but um my intent
[3743.92] IBCrazy: is to anybody who's developed this laser tag um independently it's got to be similar enough to
[3752.56] IBCrazy: mine that i can bet my patent will hold up to defend theirs so once i get this out i'll have
