[0.0] Jack: Now on the train we cover Let's drone out now
[5.25] Jack: Tonight on Let's Drone Out we are joined by Andy R.C
[11.17] Jack: Hello We're also joined by Pauls
[18.93] Jack: Oh that's me. Hello welcome to my last c-turn
[24.05] Jack: We're joined by Andrew Schnashrank Hello
[28.21] Jack: And Tony needs one of these
[35.81] Tony: Bonjour. I don't know why I do this. This is Curry Kittens fault
[41.65] Jack: And I'm Jack. Bright sci-fi. How are you doing?
[47.33] Jack: So today the Mini Air Show. Is that correct?
[53.25] Frank: Yes, so we were planning to have the kind of Mini Air Show
[57.25] Frank: pre-party next week, but then I realised that I would be
[61.89] Frank: kind of sitting in a corner somewhere, rocking back and forth.
[65.25] Frank: In the fatal position.
[68.45] Frank: Yeah, and decided that this week would be much better and then Jack can get it edited
[73.17] Frank: and up on the podcast for like before the event. So that'll be exciting.
[79.33] Frank: So if you're listening to this before the event, it is.
[83.33] Frank: Hold on, let me double check this before I stick my foot in my mouth.
[87.49] Frank: 12th and 13th of May. So yeah, you can come along and meet all these lovely people and more.
[94.93] Andy: You're trying to put them off.
[98.37] Frank: Well if they're listening to the podcast then I figure, you know, they're our target audience.
[104.77] Frank: So we're going to have all sorts of things. We're going to have all the drone racing.
[108.29] Frank: We're going to have racing wings. We're going to have open flight lines and bring them by.
[115.09] Frank: We're going to have two massive marquees full of things and people and stuff.
[120.21] Frank: And what else are we going to have? We're going to have the X-Class with
[126.61] Frank: Fossil as Tony is wonderfully muddling the hoodie.
[131.09] Tony: We've just got our chapter done on X-Class in the States of just put a post out saying
[140.45] Tony: first in the UK and in Europe. So pretty chuffed about that.
[145.17] Tony: You've got a pretty good chance in the UK races then.
[147.57] Tony: Yes, I might win.
[151.57] Frank: Is that your main reason for participating in this?
[154.13] Tony: Yeah, I've just got to beat Martin. And he's a little bit older than me so I'm
[158.93] Tony: might win.
[160.93] Jack: I don't think anything is possible to be older than you, Tony.
[164.37] Jack: Do you want some of this?
[165.41] Jack: Oh, the website's broken again.
[174.13] Jack: Does anyone want to log in again? I cannot get it to work, sorry.
[178.13] Jack: If you're wondering why I'm frustratedly bashing my keyboard, that is why.
[182.69] Tony: That's up, Brad, as bad as he's in the chat. Brad has got some info.
[187.97] Tony: Can you put it in the chat, Brad, so everyone can see and then I'll read it out if it's real.
[195.65] Tony: He knows what I mean.
[196.77] Jack: I'm scared. Tony, you were telling us about you've replaced a motor.
[204.21] Tony: Oh, yeah, sorry. I was chatting off it. I replaced a steel motor that
[211.49] Tony: the thread went on them. Apparently, it's quite a common thing on the V1s. The thread goes.
[219.17] Tony: So I went and a text put a Facebook post out saying, has anyone got one? And
[226.29] Tony: Oscar Lang's mate had some. So I went to Brighton last night, picked some up, put a new motor on
[233.49] Tony: from his lot, this new bunch. And I had come home and I thought, oh, yeah, I put some footage on,
[242.61] Tony: looked at the footage and it was terrible. It was just so jello. It was horrible.
[248.61] Tony: I was like, what's happened? I have changed my mount on my
[256.53] Tony: reverb because it was red and I wanted a purple. So I changed it to a purple, got a new mount.
[262.61] Tony: Thought it was that and it wasn't because I put the red one back on and it was still the same.
[268.21] Tony: So I come home and I haven't actually looked at the footage. I changed to another motor
[277.25] Tony: and I need to look at the footage to see if it's the same. I'm hoping it's not.
[282.77] Tony: If it is, then I'm going to have to change the belt of the original motor
[288.61] Tony: to one of the old motors, if you know what I mean, because I know that motor and bearing is fine.
[295.97] Jack: Doesn't mean the belt's balanced though.
[298.77] Tony: No, there is that. That's just the thing. It's just such a tiny little thing.
[309.41] Tony: It looked fine through the FPV cam, but when I played it back, it was awful.
[313.97] Curry: I can't help but mention the awful soldering attempt you did on the Zode Dart and whenever
[322.37] Curry: you say I replaced the motor in future conversations, I instantly think, well, how's he done it? Has he
[328.13] Curry: just put a bit of tape on or is he? I did tape it on. Just twisted wires together? Yep, that's what
[333.97] Tony: I normally do. Twist the wires and then put a bit of tape over the top. Tony, you might as well solder
[339.41] Jack: the blowtorch. I'll tell you, you'd do a better job. If this is pick on me time, I will go.
[346.29] Tony: I'm going to check boot cam while you talk amongst yourselves and I'll ignore you.
[351.73] Jack: Just stuck butter on beater again, not sure what to think of it. It's on an F3 board. I'm using it
[359.25] Jack: on though, says Davie Boy. Well, if no, Matty Stuntz is anyone to believe then apparently it
[368.93] Jack: will fix all your problems. If you're going through a divorce, just flash you a butterfly.
[376.69] Curry: Andy, you got one with butterfly already on it, didn't you?
[379.89] Andy: I flew it and I do think it's better. What is better is prop wash oscillations. When you say
[391.89] Andy: if you do a really quick freefall and then recover, so the cop is falling really fast and it
[399.81] Andy: recovers and usually you get an oscillation when it recovers with butterfly. It seems to be better
[406.13] Andy: at handling that, but it's very subtle. I think a lot of people won't notice a difference. I could
[414.45] Andy: see a very small difference. What I like about it is the interface is practically the same,
[420.45] Andy: just a couple of things that have been changed. I don't know. It'd be interesting to see
[427.57] Andy: more people are starting to switch to it. It's going to be an easy switch if that is the case.
[435.41] Andy: I have to see what everybody else thinks.
[438.37] Tony: Hi, Gail. Gail's in the chat. Apparently, we've got him on next week,
[443.65] Tony: Cailin. We'll be able to talk a bit more about it. I asked Brad to ask Cailin what he thought
[453.17] Tony: about having our X-Class drone on butterfly. He said we should try it on butterfly because
[458.85] Tony: you think it would do well on that. I think that's going to be our next take.
[465.09] Andy: They've got their own flight controller, haven't they? Is it called the Helix or something like
[469.33] Andy: that? I think they've developed their own flight controller, or it's one that they're just
[476.53] Andy: basing butterfly around. I think it's here to stay for now, just to see what happens.
[484.13] Curry: I have to say, maybe it's being a software developer guy, but I find that fascinating,
[490.53] Curry: looking at how projects evolve, and obviously base flight, to clean flight, to be to flight,
[495.57] Curry: it's like sometimes you just imagine all these forks are just going to end up fizzling out,
[501.25] Curry: but then something goes in it and they diversify off quite a lot, and then they create their own
[505.65] Curry: faults from that. It's interesting because obviously, beta flight at the start was just
[510.21] Curry: very experimental. I remember the amount of releases were just coming daily,
[514.37] Curry: and now that's the mainstay. It's almost like butterfly is the new beta flight.
[519.49] Tony: Could well be. I haven't tried it on anything yet.
[524.93] Jack: People get all excited and everything, and then as soon as something forks,
[532.93] Jack: that's the trail blaze, as I like to call it. I just punch my pop filter.
[542.45] Jack: I visited Curry Kitten this week.
[550.37] Tony: I've got money to go and visit Curry Kitten, but no money to go to Tony's.
[557.89] Jack: If I want to torture myself.
[561.09] Curry: You were at Jack's house several times. I remember watching the streams.
[566.45] Tony: I've been to Brighton three times this week.
[570.21] Jack: Yeah, but you only visited me once, and I got him a veggie burger as well.
[575.01] Jack: I thank you.
[576.53] Jack: But I'm just the dickhead. My argument with him touching my things,
[583.01] Jack: is he pulls things out on stream that I might not actually want people to see.
[587.65] Tony: Yes, there's a certain draw around Jack's house that you're not allowed to open.
[593.89] Jack: I can't even put that live, because I think I threatened to kill him several times.
[601.09] Jack: Anything happens to him, and I'm number one suspect.
[606.53] Tony: Exactly. I can't wait to meet everyone in two weeks time.
[613.33] Tony: I haven't even met Curry Kitten, and he's been on a billion times.
[617.41] Tony: It'd be nice to meet him, even though he's quite horrible to me like you are.
[624.13] Jack: That's what makes me like him more.
[629.01] Tony: But people in the chat, like Mikey Dred, it'd be nice to meet Gail,
[632.77] Tony: and whoever else is going to come down.
[637.09] Tony: I'm really looking forward to mostly meeting people than anything else.
[643.65] Tony: That's what I'm excited for.
[645.09] Curry: That's what I'm looking forward for.
[646.21] Curry: Now, I told people if they meet me, do the hello.
[649.97] Curry: So maybe people meeting Andy should rip off their t-shirt
[653.97] Curry: and have just the vest on or something.
[657.25] Jack: Or just wear a vest.
[659.25] Jack: Andy R.C., why don't you get some wife beaters
[663.01] Jack: like printed with Andy R.C. artwork on them?
[669.17] Andy: It's just time and money.
[671.49] Andy: I don't have any of those things, although I seem to have enough time for this show somehow.
[676.53] Andy: Yeah, that poor thing.
[679.25] Andy: Perhaps I should do the t-shirts and stop doing this show.
[682.85] Andy: No, I wouldn't do that.
[684.69] Andy: No, it's a good idea.
[685.73] Andy: I think a lot of the big channels, that's how they progress.
[690.69] Andy: It's just having the manpower to do stuff like that.
[694.61] Curry: Your tagline could be too northern to need arms.
[701.97] Jack: They just stick their heads in and get right in there.
[706.93] Jack: No, I've seen the northern...
[709.33] Jack: How we didn't get in a fight.
[710.61] Jack: We must have seen a bunch of frilly tutu wearing, skipping along, holding each other's hands.
[716.69] Jack: Well, me and Tony were anyway.
[718.45] Tony: That was just you and Frank.
[723.25] Jack: Yeah, I was surprised I didn't cause...
[725.97] Jack: You were having anxiety attacks because you can't act like this in a northern pub.
[734.29] Jack: I know people here.
[735.33] Jack: I went to school with them.
[737.41] Andy: It was more about me wanting to go back for food at a later date.
[743.97] Andy: I can't go now because I've been in here with these idiots.
[747.33] Andy: And you're them making fun of northern people.
[751.33] Andy: Even though it was funny, not a single individual was actually from around here that you spoke to.
[758.93] Andy: So I think that confused you.
[761.41] Andy: I think the person you spoke to was from Manchester.
[764.85] Andy: All of the local sort of offensive things you were saying they didn't get anyways.
[773.09] Tony: Bill MRC asked in chat, who is going to fly at the Mini Air Show?
[779.81] Tony: Well, everyone you can see is going to be at the Mini Air Show.
[783.57] Tony: I think I'm flying at the Mini Air Show.
[786.05] Tony: Any of you guys going to have a fly?
[788.69] Andy: I'm buying a flying ticket, but I'm not sure what that's going to mean.
[794.05] Andy: There's going to be some free flight, Andy, when the races are done.
[798.77] Frank: So I go briefly through the schedule because I could go very deeply through the schedule.
[802.53] Frank: And that would be the whole hour.
[803.73] Frank: But I'll try and summarise it for people.
[807.41] Frank: Please, so we're going to have on the FPV side of things, we're going to have the racing, well,
[814.93] Frank: the start of the beginning.
[815.81] Frank: We're going to have the freestyle qualifiers in the morning,
[818.85] Frank: very first thing before a load of public turn up so that we can kind of get people
[823.97] Frank: out of the way who may have a bit of nerves.
[825.81] Frank: So if you're not massively confident, don't worry.
[828.69] Frank: Just go along to the freestyle qualifiers.
[830.85] Frank: It will be fine.
[832.13] Frank: We'll take you through it.
[834.61] Frank: So that is where's that gone on my list?
[839.57] Frank: So the boot opening at nine, closing that at 10 30,
[843.41] Frank: when we're going to have a bit of a briefing and then we're going to have the racing starting.
[849.57] Frank: And so that is going to be from 11 till four.
[855.41] Frank: There's basically going to be lots of racing and in between the racing
[859.57] Frank: every now and again, though, there's a couple of workshops to get people up in the air.
[865.89] Andy: Is that going to be the time that the public let in at 11 man as well?
[870.77] Frank: Yes.
[871.17] Frank: So I mean, there's probably 10 up earlier than we'll let them in.
[874.21] Frank: But that's what we've been advertising is 11.
[876.29] Andy: Okay.
[877.49] Frank: And so the racing will be yet from 11 to four.
[881.97] Frank: And similarly, there'll be displays on the main field from 11 to four.
[886.45] Frank: So we've got the Papa Mera modelers.
[889.33] Frank: We've got the fossils X class.
[891.25] Frank: We've got Rupert White.
[892.69] Frank: We've got the University of Southampton.
[895.65] Frank: We've got a variety of other things, including the FPV racing wings.
[904.37] Frank: There'll be those happening.
[906.93] Frank: And then so for it, yeah, it switches over.
[912.45] Frank: So the FPV is on the main field and that's when the racing wings and that stuff happens.
[918.69] Frank: And on the in the drone zone netted area, that's when there's going to be the tuning workshop.
[925.57] Frank: And then at six, it sort of all switches again.
[929.73] Frank: So then we're having the open track in the drone zone track.
[934.93] Frank: So if you wanted to just have a bit of a fun fly around the track, then that's the time to do it.
[940.29] Frank: There's also going to be the pub quiz starting then.
[942.37] Frank: So we've got Steve Bladings coming down with probably his bus by the sounds of it.
[948.45] Frank: What time does the bar open?
[952.13] Frank: Whenever they feel like turning up, but before six.
[956.21] Tony: Okay, because there's some people in the chat asking,
[958.69] Tony: what is the race format for the team racing?
[961.73] Tony: Can you explain that?
[963.97] Tony: Can I explain the team relay racing?
[966.37] Frank: Yes, maybe I can have a go.
[968.37] Tony: Couple of people I've heard in a scene in the chat want to know how it works.
[975.33] Frank: So there will be 12 minutes where there's four teams in every race.
[984.45] Frank: And there's four races to each round.
[989.01] Frank: This is going to get very messy.
[990.21] Tony: I'm lost already.
[991.25] Frank: Yeah, okay.
[992.53] Frank: So you have a 12 minute session.
[995.09] Frank: Yeah, where you've got your team is four pilots.
[999.17] Frank: You've got two VTX frequencies and you've got to get in as many laps as you can in that 12 minutes.
[1004.21] Frank: So you've got to decide, do you try and completely wipe out a battery trying to fly for 12 minutes,
[1011.65] Frank: which is stupid, or you're going to have to switch over essentially.
[1017.09] Frank: You're going to have to decide at some point, there'll be these netted boxes.
[1021.17] Frank: Someone's going to have to come in, someone else is going to have to go out
[1024.37] Frank: and you're going to have to work out between you.
[1026.05] Frank: And that's kind of that strategy is what makes the race, I think.
[1030.53] Curry: So hang on.
[1031.01] Curry: You've got two VTX frequencies, but only one person flies at once.
[1034.21] Curry: Is that so you can do the change over quickly?
[1036.29] Curry: Yes, so there's four teams going at the same time.
[1042.21] Frank: Yes, so that's that's the full eight frequencies of raceband being used, but only four at a time.
[1049.17] Frank: So but obviously there'll be change over a bit.
[1051.33] Frank: So we're trying to kind of keep the keep as many buying as we can without having a massive noise
[1058.69] Frank: floor is all FPV malarkey being messy again.
[1062.93] Frank: So yeah.
[1069.81] Frank: So everyone says there's 15 teams.
[1075.33] Frank: Everyone is going to race everyone else over the course of the weekend.
[1080.05] Frank: So that's all that being worked out.
[1083.33] Jack: Just like to explain for everyone, like Frank has been doing this solo for a very,
[1089.41] Jack: very long time and balancing many spinning plates.
[1094.21] Frank: So if you also like setting up this show and all this kind of stuff.
[1099.33] Frank: Yeah, having a day job shirts and like health and safety and legal and insurance
[1107.65] Frank: and all sorts of things.
[1109.09] Frank: So yeah, I'm a bit I'm a bit afraid of the edges at the moment.
[1112.61] Jack: Yeah.
[1113.17] Jack: So if you remember the early 90s, this is your brain on crack
[1118.29] Jack: where they crack open an egg and fry it in a really hot frying pan.
[1122.61] Jack: This is Frank's brain on mini air show for or mini drone show for for legal reasons.
[1130.53] Frank: It's ma for for legal reasons.
[1132.13] Frank: We are team mini air show.
[1133.17] Frank: The event is ma for all sorts of things I won't go into.
[1139.33] Curry: I find it quite interesting because Frank's always quite smiley and happy.
[1142.45] Curry: And I got a feeling that there's no there's no downward spiral.
[1144.93] Curry: There's just a snap and he just breaks and there's no rebooting or anything.
[1149.41] Curry: He's gone at that point.
[1150.69] Tony: Apparently, that's what happens.
[1152.53] Jack: Pretty much pretty much pain sore out and start smiling.
[1156.77] Jack: Acting like that guy or Resident Evil 4 with a bag on his head.
[1161.09] Tony: What what what I'd like to say is it's it's a weekend of fun.
[1166.77] Tony: So that's what we want to make it fun.
[1171.17] Tony: It's not like I mean, it's going to be competitive,
[1174.21] Tony: but the whole weekend is going to be fun meeting people and just having FPV fun.
[1181.33] Jack: You guys should make an endurance race.
[1184.21] Jack: The last to stop flying wins the battery that lives the longest.
[1187.81] Tony: That's I can do 10 minutes on my 1600.
[1191.89] Jack: Yeah. Miss creation said also someone said, what is it?
[1198.45] Jack: One of the Richards Richard Warwick said would love to see a let's drone out race.
[1202.53] Jack: Who would win?
[1204.21] Tony: I know that already.
[1207.49] Jack: No, not necessarily.
[1208.85] Jack: Not your tune at the minute.
[1211.65] Tony: Shut up.
[1212.13] Tony: I'll kick your ass.
[1213.49] Jack: Oh, great.
[1213.97] Jack: He said us at 2023.
[1217.01] Andy: You can say us.
[1219.73] Andy: It's a type of animal, isn't it?
[1222.53] Jack: Donkey.
[1224.85] Tony: Carried Mary.
[1226.13] Jack: You quite always the one swearing at the moment.
[1229.09] Jack: It's very interesting.
[1230.45] Curry: How about if everyone had to stand up whilst flying?
[1241.25] Tony: I have done it, but not very.
[1243.97] Jack: Maybe we should do a stand on one leg race.
[1246.69] Jack: That'd be good.
[1248.13] Jack: That would be quite fun.
[1249.09] Andy: Are there any prizes for the teams who are entering?
[1253.65] Jack: Badges.
[1255.25] Jack: We have lots of badges.
[1257.73] Frank: You get a slack on the back and a well done mic.
[1260.85] Frank: There's actually, we are actually having proper trophies this year.
[1267.49] Frank: Like actual trophy, trophy things that look like trophies.
[1271.65] Frank: Lots of badges.
[1275.57] Frank: But yeah, it's cool.
[1277.97] Frank: There's the prizes that Dom was organised for the video competition.
[1283.41] Frank: If anyone fancies really quickly editing a video in order to...
[1287.65] Frank: So you've got to...
[1288.85] Frank: That's not fair.
[1291.65] Jack: What?
[1294.13] Jack: Just bring our rigs down and PC edit in the bar.
[1298.29] Frank: Gone.
[1299.41] Frank: No.
[1301.01] Frank: So you've got until, I think it was midday on Sunday, to edit a video and get it published
[1308.53] Frank: and send us a link.
[1309.65] Frank: And then we're going to send all those links off to Dom
[1313.33] Frank: and he's going to pick one by four o'clock.
[1316.45] Tony: Why Dom though?
[1318.21] Tony: Because he will see mine there and he wants to see what's going on.
[1323.25] Tony: He'll see mine again.
[1324.37] Tony: Well, that's just Tony.
[1325.33] Tony: I'm not letting him win.
[1327.73] Jack: Well, you never know.
[1330.21] Jack: Make a new channel.
[1331.09] Tony: Yeah, that's it.
[1331.81] Tony: I'll call myself Cock FPV or something.
[1335.81] Jack: He said, are we allowed to get away with...
[1337.65] Jack: Yeah, I suppose.
[1338.37] Jack: That's some chicken.
[1338.93] Andy: Yeah, that's some chicken or something.
[1340.29] Tony: Exactly.
[1342.05] Jack: Oh, he's pushing the limits.
[1344.29] Tony: I'm trying to...
[1345.65] Tony: Go on, I know you're the editor now, so...
[1348.69] Jack: We can always talk about those German aircrafts, but they're called fuckers, aren't they?
[1353.25] Jack: Or wankle engines.
[1355.73] Jack: I thought that was my favourite.
[1359.01] Jack: What was I going to say?
[1360.93] Jack: So stop teasing me, Curry Kitten.
[1364.29] Jack: What's going on with my gimbal?
[1366.29] Jack: Is it screwed?
[1367.89] Curry: I think the motor's buggered.
[1369.81] Curry: What I did after swapping the motors...
[1373.01] Curry: Jack has, for the benefit of everybody else, the Storm32 gimbal,
[1377.49] Curry: which is sort of old and didn't work.
[1380.85] Curry: And when he was here, magically, it seemed to configure for a while
[1385.81] Curry: and kind of work a bit, except on the roll axis.
[1389.73] Curry: So we posted a video of this in the...
[1393.65] Jack: You said where you did it,
[1395.17] Curry: because I would make not comprehensive sense.
[1398.85] Curry: You were there for some of it.
[1400.61] Curry: So we posted that, and nobody recognised it,
[1404.29] Curry: and I said probably a motor.
[1405.41] Curry: So I tried swapping the motors around, and it would not initialise.
[1408.29] Curry: And I ended up plugging it into this gimbal.
[1412.37] Curry: This is a fakie Alex Mosfein.
[1414.29] Curry: So I basically plugged your motors into this.
[1417.81] Curry: And when I did that, the roll worked...
[1422.29] Curry: When I had it plugged in the roll perfectly,
[1425.57] Curry: on the good motor, but on the bad motor, it still did that little flicky thing.
[1430.85] Curry: So I think it's a bad motor.
[1435.17] Curry: Essentially, but I can't be 100% on it, but it feels like it's naked.
[1439.09] Jack: Fine. We'll order another motor.
[1441.09] Jack: I can deal with that.
[1442.69] Jack: Anything to get this fixed, working.
[1445.49] Jack: I can wave it at Tony.
[1447.17] Jack: He can stop moaning at me.
[1449.01] Curry: But I do not like that Storm32, I have to say,
[1451.97] Curry: because when the motors were swapped, it wouldn't go through and reinitialise.
[1456.69] Curry: Because it's like, I don't like the way that's moving.
[1458.53] Curry: It's like, I can't...
[1459.89] Curry: It basically says, I can't initialise it, I give up.
[1462.13] Curry: And so you see the gimbal sort of do this, and it sort of goes...
[1465.57] Curry: It just plops down, pointlessly.
[1469.73] Tony: Sounds like Chang.
[1472.61] Curry: So if it doesn't work, I've got to spare one of these boards somewhere.
[1476.45] Curry: I'll put that in instead.
[1477.65] Curry: Maybe that will work a bit better.
[1479.49] Curry: Oh.
[1480.61] Andy: I found the Storm32's worked better than the, what are they called?
[1486.37] Andy: Alex Moss?
[1487.33] Jack: Yeah, anything works better than that.
[1489.81] Andy: Yeah.
[1490.93] Jack: You're off to two glasses of wine and seven pints can do a better job of stabilising.
[1497.17] Andy: The thing with Storm32 is, you have to really work at it to get it good for your setup.
[1505.17] Andy: Yeah.
[1506.37] Andy: Like, there's no two boards that have the same setup.
[1510.45] Andy: You can have completely different gimbals.
[1512.85] Andy: I got one of those to work really well.
[1516.69] Andy: But it took a lot of reading and a lot of effort.
[1519.65] Andy: And then a company called Zion brought out their own gimbal that just works flawlessly.
[1525.49] Andy: So I gave up with it.
[1527.97] Andy: So, and then DJI came out and just floored everything.
[1531.25] Andy: It was such a weird hour there.
[1533.57] Jack: What's that thing called?
[1535.41] Jack: Sorry, Kerry Kitten.
[1537.57] Andy: What thing?
[1538.85] Jack: What did you say?
[1539.73] Jack: The thing come out before A?
[1542.29] Jack: What's the brand?
[1543.65] Andy: Oh, Zion.
[1544.77] Jack: Zion.
[1545.81] Andy: Yeah.
[1546.29] Jack: What, Z-I-O-N?
[1548.45] Andy: No, hang on.
[1550.13] Jack: I've never heard of that before.
[1551.57] Jack: That's all.
[1551.97] Jack: Oh no, I'm doing the Kerry Kitten thing.
[1553.41] Jack: Hello.
[1553.97] Jack: I've done that earlier.
[1555.97] Jack: It is Z-H-I.
[1558.61] Tony: Hang on.
[1559.41] Tony: No.
[1560.21] Tony: He went into the fish and chip shop the other day.
[1562.37] Tony: I went, oh, I'd like a veggie burger.
[1566.29] Andy: Z-H-I-O-N.
[1568.29] Andy: No, no, no, Y-U-N.
[1570.77] Andy: Y-U-N, Zion.
[1572.77] Andy: Yawn.
[1574.21] Jack: U-N gimbal.
[1576.21] Jack: Yeah.
[1576.69] Andy: They're not cheap.
[1579.57] Andy: What was it called, the one for it?
[1581.17] Andy: Because they do like really expensive ones for DSLRs, but they do one for a GoPro.
[1589.33] Jack: I'm buying a GoPro tomorrow morning.
[1591.33] Jack: Oh my word.
[1592.53] Jack: You're kidding me.
[1593.73] Jack: They're like 232 quid.
[1597.17] Andy: Yeah.
[1597.49] Andy: I'm buying a session tomorrow.
[1599.25] Andy: Yeah, they're not cheap, but they work.
[1602.45] Andy: It's actually the gimbal that's on the Hobson X4 Pro, the gimbal one.
[1608.69] Andy: Out of every gimbal I've tried, it's the only one that I could say just works.
[1614.69] Jack: I am watching your video right about now.
[1618.29] Tony: Jack, if you bought my hex, which I'm selling again.
[1622.77] Jack: It's a Tarot.
[1624.45] Tony: No, it's not.
[1625.33] Tony: It's a DJI.
[1628.29] Andy: Xamuz.
[1629.33] Tony: Yeah, it's a Xamuz 3, so you could buy that off me if you want.
[1633.89] Tony: If you buy the whole copter, you can have that.
[1637.81] Andy: Those were crazy expensive as well.
[1639.73] Andy: I know.
[1640.37] Tony: It cost me 300 pound just for the bloody gimbal.
[1643.89] Tony: I'm selling the whole hexacopter at the Mini Air Show for 300, so.
[1649.65] Andy: Pretty nice for whoever gets it.
[1653.25] Jack: $253.
[1656.13] Jack: For $300, you can buy the same microscope as Stranger Things on YouTube, by the way.
[1667.81] Jack: Gearbase, 217 quid.
[1670.13] Jack: Neither have you been looking.
[1671.81] Andy: Why are you after a gimbal?
[1674.29] Andy: Anyways, what for?
[1677.33] Jack: Curry Kitten, would you like to answer that before I have some sort of nervous breakdown?
[1681.65] Jack: I think this is the gimbal that's been with him since the dawn of time.
[1686.93] Jack: I've had one.
[1688.05] Jack: I've had one Alex Moss.
[1690.05] Jack: I've had one Storm32 original board, and then that's the...
[1695.25] Jack: I've had three gimbals.
[1697.65] Jack: None of them worked.
[1700.69] Andy: Yeah, it takes it.
[1702.45] Andy: But what are you needing to stabilize footage for now?
[1707.57] Andy: No one really uses them anymore.
[1709.57] Tony: Jack's made and designed a big drone that he's flying.
[1714.13] Jack: I know why he designed it.
[1717.01] Jack: I drew loosely on a bit of paper, and Dan Upton finished it.
[1724.37] Andy: Yeah, I tried a lot of gimbals, and the Zion was the only...
[1728.05] Andy: I think the Tarot ones are supposed to be pretty good as well.
[1731.17] Andy: I never got to try the Tarot one, but...
[1734.29] Jack: The only person I saw with the Tarot one was Adam Juniper.
[1742.45] Jack: And I never really got to see any footage.
[1746.37] Curry: Tarot ones has been quite popular.
[1747.97] Curry: I've seen a couple of people put them upside down on the top of big wings,
[1753.01] Curry: and they get some really impressive footage, although it looks a bit weird,
[1755.97] Curry: because you see the wings sort of dancing around in front of it as it's bouncing around on the wind.
[1762.21] Jack: Yep, I nabbed it.
[1763.97] Tony: Richard Harwood said,
[1765.09] Tony: is there a sail stand at the show to get shot off gear?
[1768.05] Tony: Yes, there is a bring and buy.
[1770.05] Frank: Yep, David and I is running a bring and buy,
[1772.85] Frank: so there's going to be a few tables set aside.
[1777.49] Frank: And there's going to be...
[1778.69] Frank: So if you've been to Weston Park or any of the other model shows like that,
[1782.77] Frank: you've probably seen a similar format where there's the raffle tickets.
[1786.53] Frank: So you bring along your thing you want to sell.
[1790.69] Frank: You let them know the price.
[1793.81] Frank: You swap it for a raffle ticket.
[1796.85] Frank: They'll then try and sell it during the day,
[1799.33] Frank: and at the end of the day, you come back with your raffle ticket
[1801.41] Frank: and swap it back for either the cash that you've asked for
[1804.61] Frank: or your stuff that hasn't sold, depending on whether it's sold or not.
[1809.57] Jack: I'm having a super slight sail.
[1814.77] Frank: So that is...
[1817.17] Frank: Do you guys take a cut to help raise for Mini Air Show?
[1821.09] Frank: Not for Mini Air Show, but for the Hampshire Air Ambulance.
[1828.53] Frank: Pretty good. Pretty good. Cool. Support them.
[1833.49] Frank: Always nice to be supporting the local air ambulances.
[1837.17] Curry: Frank, Mini Air Show related,
[1839.01] Curry: can you explain to me what is the oddball and the posh French phrase?
[1845.89] Frank: Concourse is quite common at general meetups of full-scale stuff.
[1857.17] Frank: So you bring along your things nicely polished and show it off,
[1861.25] Frank: and someone goes around and says,
[1862.37] Frank: that looks very nicely polished.
[1864.37] Frank: Here you go, have a medal.
[1866.05] Jack: No, it's not like the Porsche executives today,
[1868.53] Jack: where they start unscrewing hubcaps
[1873.81] Jack: and making sure you've got my dirt under there.
[1876.61] Frank: Well, I don't think we're going to go into that level of detail.
[1879.57] Frank: We're just going to grab a few judges and see which one they're most bowled over by.
[1887.57] Curry: Is this quads or planes or anything that flies?
[1890.85] Frank: Anything that flies.
[1892.69] Frank: I mean, if someone's got a really fancy ground station,
[1895.57] Frank: maybe someone will take a liking to it.
[1899.17] Tony: That doesn't fly unless you throw it at Jack's head.
[1901.73] Frank: That's what I mean.
[1902.45] Frank: It doesn't have to necessarily fly.
[1906.53] Frank: I might bring comments and shit.
[1908.05] Frank: If you've built something very nice.
[1911.89] Tony: Well, I could bring something nice that I've bought anything.
[1916.53] Tony: That you've built.
[1918.37] Tony: I've built anything in my whole life.
[1921.65] Frank: Well, maybe that's not the competition for you.
[1923.73] Tony: No, I think I'll duck on that one.
[1926.29] Jack: I'm going to show something on camera that's very titilizing.
[1930.69] Jack: Look at this.
[1933.33] Tony: Oh, I have no idea what that is.
[1937.57] Jack: Very fine 23 AWG silicone modding wire.
[1944.61] Jack: Like, Frank, what?
[1951.49] Tony: Jack's just going to bring some wire to the mini air.
[1956.61] Frank: This doesn't do it for you.
[1958.53] Frank: Why do you want 23 AWG or whatever it was?
[1962.05] Jack: Well, SWG probably.
[1964.13] Jack: It's for modding things.
[1966.69] Jack: It's the nice...
[1967.89] Jack: This is what you wish the Freesky smart cables are made out of.
[1976.85] Jack: It's just really nice for your receivers,
[1980.05] Jack: making jumper wires, modding things.
[1984.77] Jack: Okay.
[1986.23] Frank: You've still been called a noob in the chat.
[1991.67] Frank: Warren Sunday asked earlier about the track for the relay race.
[1999.43] Frank: So, yes, it is in the Netadaria at the drone zone.
[2003.11] Frank: But don't worry, we have addressed the issues that they were at the Queen's Cup.
[2006.71] Frank: So there's a little mound and some trees and things that gave you some terrible signals
[2013.99] Frank: before we've taken matters into our own hands.
[2017.03] Frank: And we've modified the track so that there's some...
[2020.47] Frank: Instead of all being gates on the ground,
[2023.91] Frank: there's some raised gates around the back there
[2026.23] Frank: so that you're not trying to fly behind a bit of ground
[2029.43] Frank: and bushes and trees and things that stop you from getting any signal.
[2033.19] Frank: So we now have decent signal all the way around,
[2037.75] Frank: which makes it better.
[2039.19] Frank: So that will be a lot better.
[2044.63] Frank: See?
[2047.75] Frank: Green Patches has asked if it's all electric or it has nitrile gases.
[2055.51] Frank: So the University of Southampton is bringing along massive 3D printed long range endurance,
[2067.35] Frank: whatever it is.
[2067.91] Frank: I can't remember the back.
[2069.19] Frank: Very fancy bit of kit.
[2070.55] Frank: And that's got two petrol engines on it.
[2072.63] Frank: So that will be making a lot of noise.
[2077.59] Tony: Knap that and charge off it later.
[2080.15] Frank: Also, the other thing that...
[2082.31] Frank: Because I can see Warren's still talking about the track.
[2085.27] Frank: So the pits, we've actually got some staging that's going to be set further back.
[2091.67] Frank: So we'll actually have everyone raised up a bit as well.
[2096.79] Frank: And there's going to be...
[2098.95] Frank: So there'll be this base.
[2101.67] Frank: It's all going to be fenced off.
[2103.35] Frank: So there's more space than there was previously.
[2105.99] Frank: Going to be further back from the track.
[2107.75] Frank: So good signal.
[2109.59] Frank: No problems.
[2114.85] Jack: Yay.
[2116.61] Jack: So Frank's mind is slowly not melting away.
[2123.33] Jack: Surely, Curry Kitten, you've got some oddball things there to fly.
[2127.33] Jack: I've got your quad.
[2128.77] Jack: Does that count?
[2129.89] Jack: Yeah, good.
[2131.65] Jack: With the dodgy gimbal.
[2134.77] Jack: If only we could get that done.
[2138.05] Curry: Yeah, not without a new motor, I think.
[2141.41] Curry: I'd like to be 100% on it.
[2143.09] Curry: But because it won't initialize, it's a bit tricky.
[2145.49] Curry: But I believe that's it.
[2146.37] Curry: Because just explain the problem to everybody.
[2149.49] Curry: So the tilt axis was fine.
[2152.21] Curry: On the roll axis, it would go about this far.
[2155.17] Curry: But if you went past it, there was this point,
[2157.01] Curry: even outside of the motors where it would just give this shake.
[2159.81] Curry: Like it was this really weird, weak portion.
[2162.77] Curry: And we couldn't fathom it.
[2164.13] Curry: We went through pit tuning forever, putting various strength into it.
[2168.85] Curry: And it was all fine, except when it got to this bit.
[2171.25] Curry: But I suggested we could just fly it,
[2172.69] Curry: but do really slow circles like this much.
[2176.05] Tony: But only go left.
[2181.09] Curry: All right.
[2181.57] Curry: Just not very fast.
[2183.41] Curry: No big turns, small turns.
[2186.61] Jack: Should we post up the RC groups thread or just the video?
[2193.81] Curry: I think they can look at the video if they want to.
[2195.97] Curry: All the thread.
[2196.85] Curry: They can welcome to a...
[2198.85] Jack: Post, enter, there you go.
[2201.25] Jack: I don't know whether it'll work, because we're not.
[2204.69] Jack: Maybe I should give it to you, Frank, to post.
[2207.25] Tony: Andy, have you got more stickers to give out?
[2209.73] Tony: Because I know you were running low.
[2211.73] Andy: Yeah, I haven't got many.
[2213.73] Andy: I had a chap that made a small run for me at, I think, only about 30.
[2220.21] Andy: And I've given a lot of them away.
[2221.57] Andy: So I'm not going to have many to give out.
[2225.01] Andy: But I know a couple of people have specifically asked if they can have one.
[2229.73] Andy: So I'll take all I've got and then have to have some more made
[2236.77] Andy: or find a way to have some more made.
[2239.65] Tony: Just a handshake with the Andy RC will suffice.
[2244.61] Frank: Yes, we'll have the sticker swap as well.
[2246.29] Frank: We've got a special box made up,
[2248.13] Frank: especially for stickers to be swapped from into.
[2254.69] Jack: Your older quad, if you feel the need to upgrade, what the...
[2258.85] Andy: Yeah, the problem with the Storm32 stuff is it's so old now
[2263.17] Andy: and everyone's probably moved on to DJI and stuff.
[2267.81] Andy: And so it'd be probably difficult to get support for it.
[2273.25] Andy: I mean, I've forgotten everything I know.
[2275.73] Andy: Like a couple of years ago, when I was doing it on the channel.
[2279.89] Jack: Yeah, I'm sure eventually, that's what happened.
[2282.85] Jack: If you want an aerial platform, you just get told to go to DJI.
[2291.65] Jack: You know, because you get so much bang for your buck and...
[2297.41] Andy: It is true.
[2298.13] Andy: That's what people have done.
[2299.33] Andy: And that kind of technology has sort of stopped.
[2302.77] Andy: Actually, it's moved to like the mobile phone industry.
[2306.37] Andy: Like people wanting to stabilize their mobile.
[2310.29] Andy: You get a lot of those, but not so much gimbles the cop
[2314.29] Andy: just because people realize that by the time you spend all of the money
[2319.57] Andy: to get a nice set up, you could have bought a Phantom.
[2323.81] Andy: And that's the conclusion I came to.
[2325.73] Andy: When I looked at the 450 that I built and the Pixhawk
[2330.05] Andy: and all the video gear and a transmitter,
[2333.57] Andy: and then the fact that the legs had to retract
[2337.89] Andy: to get out of the way of the camera.
[2340.05] Andy: All of that costs way more than you can get like a Mavic for.
[2343.81] Tony: Can you shut up?
[2344.69] Tony: I'm trying to sell a bloody...
[2348.37] Curry: Don't buy Tony's crappy hats. Rubbish.
[2351.09] Tony: My hat's got to sell for 300 pounds.
[2353.97] Curry: And that's why Tony has a Phantom instead.
[2357.09] Andy: The other thing...
[2357.73] Andy: That's well.
[2361.09] Andy: Are you selling the Phantom then, Tony?
[2363.25] Jack: He can't.
[2365.09] Jack: He can't because there was an incident that...
[2368.61] Tony: It's fine now, Jack. Let's move on.
[2370.69] Jack: That I will bring up in the LDO bonus live pod there.
[2377.09] Tony: I actually forgot we're doing a show live, aren't we?
[2380.85] Jack: Yeah, guys, we might want to hang out one evening and write material.
[2386.61] Tony: Write material? What are you talking about?
[2388.53] Tony: We never write material.
[2389.97] Tony: We just go live and just go off the top of our heads.
[2393.09] Jack: I hope.
[2394.37] Jack: Matt, it's so different.
[2395.49] Jack: I'm warning you guys.
[2396.53] Jack: If you don't do it, it's going to be painful.
[2400.45] Jack: I find it so hard to speak in front of people.
[2402.29] Andy: Go ahead, Jack.
[2403.41] Andy: Don't do it, then.
[2404.61] Andy: I mean, the whole day is going to be hanging out with people anyways.
[2409.65] Andy: By the end of the day, you're going to be struggling for...
[2413.41] Tony: I'm going to be drunk.
[2414.53] Tony: I'm going to go.
[2417.17] Jack: Tony.
[2417.65] Jack: He is.
[2418.29] Jack: Tony's going to be there with the projector, playing videos of me in the shower.
[2423.73] Jack: I think he's having a great whole time.
[2426.69] Frank: Someone asked earlier about whether there's going to be screens for the spectators.
[2430.05] Frank: Yes, we're not going to have the massive video wall we had a couple of years ago
[2433.49] Frank: because I don't know how Don managed to wangle that one.
[2436.61] Frank: But we are going to have a wealth of screens around the place thanks to binary throttle.
[2444.53] Andy: When you say screens, you mean showing the FPV feed, right?
[2448.53] Frank: Yes.
[2450.21] Frank: We have invested in a couple of these fancy bits of kit.
[2454.37] Jack: This is what keeps Andrew slash Frank awake at night.
[2458.53] Frank: Oh, yeah.
[2459.17] Frank: Talk about the cables.
[2460.93] Frank: The cables?
[2462.93] Frank: Oh, yeah.
[2464.37] Frank: I've made an order today of 400 meters of cable.
[2469.73] Frank: So, yeah.
[2470.61] Frank: There's lots of cabling going on, lots of fancy things going on
[2473.65] Frank: that you probably won't even notice.
[2475.57] Frank: But it'll be there making things look extra shiny.
[2481.01] Jack: Fingers crossed.
[2483.25] Jack: Guess who's we've got a visitor.
[2488.21] Jack: Hang on.
[2489.49] Jack: We've got a guest on.
[2491.33] Jack: I've managed to wangle a guest at the very last 15 minutes.
[2497.49] Jack: So I'm going to watch this and the RC.
[2500.53] Tony: Brad has got loads of screens.
[2506.21] Jack: No, he's meant to be bringing me some screens.
[2508.45] Tony: Yeah, I want some screens as well, Brad.
[2511.49] Tony: And G-Dog wants some screens.
[2513.25] Tony: He's got a like 40 of them.
[2514.53] Jack: G-Dog's rich.
[2516.13] Jack: G-Dog can buy as many screens as he wants.
[2520.21] Tony: Yeah, but there's nothing like free stuff.
[2522.45] Tony: Yeah, I know.
[2523.81] Jack: But I don't know.
[2525.17] Jack: Yeah, or free stuff from Bradder's that flickers.
[2528.29] Jack: There's nothing.
[2530.21] Curry: This is quite a good excuse for people to bring along their family,
[2533.65] Curry: even if they don't want to come on the pretense that they can watch it as well
[2536.93] Curry: and they don't need fat sharks or whatever.
[2538.85] Frank: And yeah, there'll be loads for spectators.
[2542.37] Frank: There's going to be the screens.
[2543.49] Frank: There'll be the displays that's on the main field.
[2545.65] Frank: There'll be the pub quiz and all the food and drink
[2549.09] Frank: and other stuff to wander around and have a look at.
[2552.77] Frank: Yeah, it's what it's there for at the end of the day is to try and celebrate.
[2558.61] Frank: All the good size of drones and try and present something presentable to people.
[2563.01] Frank: So that's why you bought off so long.
[2566.13] Tony: And meeting people and having fun.
[2568.37] Tony: Yes.
[2570.61] Tony: I'm just looking forward to meeting everyone.
[2572.77] Jack: We've got a visitor introducing our new guest, Mr. Don Robinson.
[2577.17] Jack: What are you doing? Let me on here.
[2578.37] Jack: I know.
[2580.21] Tony: You nutty nutty nutty.
[2581.73] Tony: Don't talk to me. You're moving to USIC.
[2584.77] Dom: No, that's not happening.
[2586.29] Dom: Brexit has messed that up for me.
[2589.01] Jack: Swiss stock within.
[2594.37] Dom: Call me a Ramona. I'll call you a quitter.
[2599.89] Dom: How are you doing, Jabs?
[2600.85] Dom: How are you doing, Andrew? More to the point.
[2602.13] Dom: I know how you feel.
[2603.01] Dom: Yeah, I've been here a couple of times before.
[2607.01] Dom: I bet you're cursing the fact that I'm not moving to America.
[2612.21] Frank: Well, you know, maybe that means you'll have time to help out again next year.
[2619.25] Dom: Maybe I'll have time to fly one day.
[2621.09] Dom: I haven't flown since I last saw you, I think.
[2624.53] Frank: That was a while ago.
[2625.65] Frank: That was before we were when we were still looking for a place to put the mini air show this year.
[2631.33] Dom: Yeah, indeed. I need to black somebody to recondition my cut.
[2634.13] Dom: Oh, Jack.
[2636.61] Jack: Fine. Just come and visit me.
[2638.69] Jack: You've got a hoodie as well.
[2639.97] Jack: And I've got a little speed.
[2643.65] Dom: My speedos, I knew I was left them somewhere.
[2646.53] Dom: I know.
[2647.97] Tony: Jack in speedos.
[2649.65] Tony: That's my pay-per-view, that is.
[2653.41] Tony: It's pay-per-not-view.
[2657.25] Jack: Please don't show me that.
[2659.25] Jack: I'll give you money.
[2662.77] Tony: Yeti in speedos.
[2664.29] Tony: Have you seen the new Yeti motors?
[2667.57] Tony: Sponsored by Jack.
[2669.65] Jack: Sponsored by Jack.
[2670.61] Jack: No, don't say stuff like that.
[2673.73] Dom: I think I've got them on my fossil.
[2675.89] Dom: I've got a 1996 fossil here.
[2679.33] Jack: I know.
[2679.97] Jack: I've just finished building one for Adam.
[2684.21] Dom: What do they do like these days?
[2685.33] Dom: Have they changed the frames again?
[2686.53] Dom: I haven't seen a fossil since, well, mine.
[2691.57] Tony: We've got the S1 now.
[2694.29] Tony: Smokey S1.
[2695.65] Dom: Is that an enormous thing?
[2697.25] Tony: No, no, that's the X-Class.
[2699.49] Dom: You've got a Smokey S1.
[2700.77] Dom: How big is that then?
[2702.45] Tony: Five inch frame.
[2704.45] Tony: Carbon fiber.
[2706.37] Dom: Fantastic.
[2707.01] Dom: I need to fly.
[2708.53] Dom: Someone needs to come and just take me out and make me fly at some point.
[2714.21] Tony: I was thinking about trying to get down Monday
[2716.61] Tony: because it's bank holiday this Monday, and he tried to maybe go to HV.
[2721.73] Dom: For the same reason I'm not there on Saturday,
[2724.13] Dom: I will be the wrong side of the Atlantic for Monday, I'm afraid.
[2727.73] Jack: Oh, man.
[2728.45] Jack: I thought you said you weren't emigrating.
[2730.37] Dom: No, I'm only getting out on lots of short trips now instead.
[2733.65] Dom: I've got to just get out there a lot, but thank God for Norwegian.
[2737.17] Dom: Proper flying.
[2738.53] Dom: Really cheap flights.
[2739.49] Dom: I should be sponsored by them.
[2740.53] Frank: And Wi-Fi on board if I remember.
[2742.53] Dom: I've got more to the point.
[2743.57] Dom: You can unpay for everything you don't want.
[2745.49] Dom: Get a cheap flight and nobody wakes you up in the middle of the flight.
[2747.89] Dom: It's brilliant.
[2748.69] Dom: Just have to stuff yourself with minstrels in the airport.
[2752.61] Dom: How are you feeling then, Andrew?
[2753.73] Dom: You must be knackered, mate.
[2755.01] Dom: You must be full of spreadsheets and data and questions and answers.
[2760.29] Frank: I have two spreadsheets open at the moment.
[2764.45] Frank: Yeah, there's a lot going on.
[2766.53] Frank: I have taken next week off to deal with it.
[2769.17] Frank: Oh, bless.
[2770.21] Frank: Really?
[2771.01] Tony: Yeah.
[2771.49] Tony: What?
[2772.77] Tony: Bless you.
[2774.53] Tony: I think there's quite a few people coming down to help out on Friday.
[2779.41] Tony: I know I've spoken to Rich.
[2781.81] Tony: He's took the day off.
[2783.25] Tony: I've took the day off, so I'm going to be there.
[2785.49] Tony: Rich is going to be there.
[2786.53] Tony: I think there's quite a few people going to be there on the Friday to help you out.
[2791.41] Dom: That's when all the volunteers end up for the first two mini air shows
[2795.41] Dom: on the day before after everything was done.
[2801.41] Frank: On this note, if I am going to put out recruitment for the next mini air show
[2807.57] Frank: at this mini air show.
[2808.61] Frank: So if anyone does feel like they would be up for knowing all what's going on
[2814.53] Frank: and seeing all behind the scenes and helping out for the next one
[2819.01] Frank: in all the kind of messaging people, PR organizing schedules and budgets
[2826.05] Frank: and all this kind of thing, whatever skills you've got,
[2829.81] Frank: I'm sure they can be used somewhere.
[2831.25] Frank: So if you do want to help out with team mini air show,
[2834.69] Frank: then do drop me a line either through the Facebook page,
[2839.09] Frank: so facebook.com forward slash miniature air show,
[2842.77] Frank: or you can obviously search for team mini air show
[2846.85] Frank: or through the website.
[2848.53] Frank: So mini air show dot code UK and there's a contact page
[2851.17] Frank: and you can email us through there.
[2854.21] Frank: Just drop me a message, drop us a message.
[2857.41] Tony: How does a mini air show make money for the mini air show?
[2860.61] Tony: So making money for this mini air show, make money for next mini air show.
[2865.25] Frank: Is that how it works?
[2866.85] Frank: So yeah, we hope to end up with a bit of a pot of money
[2870.77] Frank: at the end of each one to sort of start the next one going.
[2874.61] Frank: So we managed to do that last year.
[2876.61] Frank: Fingers crossed we managed to do that again this year.
[2879.17] Tony: So it doesn't make any money for anyone,
[2881.49] Tony: it just makes money for itself for the next time.
[2884.13] Frank: Yes, it's purely voluntary, purely non-profit.
[2887.65] Frank: There's a whole constitution if you really want to go through it.
[2892.53] Frank: This blows Tony's mind.
[2895.33] Frank: There's like legal documents and everything if you really want to go there.
[2898.69] Tony: No, I just want...
[2900.37] Tony: I just think it's a good thing that the money made
[2903.17] Tony: will be make sure that next year happens.
[2906.05] Frank: Yeah, absolutely.
[2909.41] Frank: We're being heavily, heavily helped out this year
[2912.69] Frank: by the people that pop in the Spitfire Club.
[2915.73] Frank: So what they really want to see at the event
[2919.73] Frank: is lots of people hanging around and enjoying themselves.
[2922.77] Frank: So even if you don't buy a ticket and you just want to come along
[2926.29] Frank: and have a look around and see what's going on
[2929.09] Frank: and just like I think Kerry Kitten said earlier,
[2932.77] Frank: grab your family, grab your friends,
[2934.29] Frank: grab anyone you can, bring them along
[2936.85] Frank: and just kind of fill the place up,
[2940.69] Frank: give it a good atmosphere.
[2941.97] Frank: We'll all be having fun anyway.
[2943.97] Dom: Support your flying sites.
[2945.81] Jack: Yeah, I'm going to invent a late night evening game
[2951.65] Jack: where I have a transmitter of undisclosed wattage
[2959.33] Jack: and it has find the sausage.
[2964.21] Jack: I don't like this game.
[2965.65] Jack: Then you plug this screen, you can tune into it on channel one
[2972.37] Jack: and the game is to find the sausage.
[2975.33] Andy: Jack sounds like he's used this game for different reasons.
[2978.85] Andy: Yeah.
[2981.65] Frank: Richard Warwick in the chat asked if there's plenty of car parking.
[2984.61] Frank: Yes, there is.
[2986.05] Frank: I mean, the weekend.
[2987.17] Frank: So this weekend coming up the weekend before the mini air show,
[2990.93] Frank: they're holding the British Microlight Association meetup
[2994.85] Frank: where 3000 people are turning up.
[2996.85] Tony: I thought you were going to say the British car parking meetup.
[2999.81] Tony: Yeah.
[3000.77] Tony: We've got 3000 people in here.
[3003.57] Jack: Did anyone after this story?
[3006.61] Jack: Sorry, Frank.
[3007.57] Frank: Yeah, so there's loads of room.
[3010.61] Frank: Well, yes, there's no worry about filling a place up with too many cars.
[3015.49] Frank: And the other thing is we have roads and tracks and car parks
[3021.81] Frank: that won't destroy cars.
[3023.33] Frank: So that's there's no need for you to drive your gym all the way out there.
[3030.77] Dom: Oh, that's boring.
[3031.81] Dom: How are you going to get sponsorship out of the RAC?
[3033.81] Jack: Oh, wasn't there one flatbed recovery for a golf?
[3044.29] Dom: Did you miss the one for the what year was it?
[3046.37] Dom: We had the caravan, the motor home.
[3050.21] Dom: Was that two or three of the entire bloody motor home that fell off the flatbed
[3054.45] Dom: and then the flatbed had to be recovered by a bigger flatbed.
[3057.33] Dom: It was insane.
[3059.57] Tony: No way.
[3060.69] Tony: I drove my Type R down that road very, very slowly.
[3067.49] Dom: You should have got a lift in Brad's van.
[3069.09] Dom: He's got no idea of driving slowly down there.
[3071.89] Tony: No, I know.
[3073.01] Tony: He's just a cloud of dust.
[3076.13] Jack: Several thousand pounds worth of damage.
[3079.81] Jack: Can anyone confirm this?
[3081.41] Jack: But it might be just like some sort of urban legend.
[3084.93] Jack: But has anyone ever heard about the Bristol Zoo parking attendant?
[3090.61] Jack: Who apparently installed his own parking meter and policed it every day.
[3097.25] Jack: And then one day he didn't show up and they were like, where's the parking guy?
[3102.85] Jack: So they phoned the council and they were like, what parking?
[3108.93] Jack: And it turned out that this guy had like made his own job,
[3112.53] Jack: installed a parking meter by himself.
[3115.09] Jack: I don't know how true this is, but yeah, they phoned up
[3118.93] Jack: and it turned out that this guy just took off with all the money.
[3123.81] Dom: Isn't that what NCP do?
[3125.41] Dom: Yeah, pretty much.
[3127.57] Jack: Yeah, bless.
[3128.61] Jack: That's true, Jack.
[3130.13] Jack: No way someone else has heard of that as well.
[3133.33] Jack: I heard that.
[3133.97] Jack: It's the genius.
[3136.45] Tony: Someone's asked, is there a shower block?
[3138.93] Curry: And unfortunately, the toilet situation there.
[3142.13] Frank: Toilet situation.
[3145.41] Frank: There will be portaloos very visible,
[3147.97] Frank: but if you speak to the right people very nicely,
[3150.13] Frank: we might point you to the way to the actual toilet block.
[3154.13] Frank: That's part of the cafe that's there.
[3157.65] Frank: So if you help out and volunteer,
[3160.37] Frank: we might show you where things are that make things even more comfortable.
[3165.57] Tony: Richard, are you from Brazil?
[3167.49] Tony: No, he's like, no, he's not from Brazil, Mikey Dredd.
[3174.61] Tony: Far from it.
[3176.37] Tony: He is the fire marshal on the day.
[3183.01] Tony: I've forgotten about that.
[3184.45] Andy: Do we know if David's coming?
[3187.73] Jack: I don't know.
[3188.29] Jack: I tried to talk to him today,
[3189.89] Jack: but he's in the midst of death throes with a kickstarter knife project,
[3197.97] Jack: and he's in Italy at the moment for the last few days.
[3202.29] Jack: So he'll get back, see how he feels,
[3204.45] Jack: and then go from there, I believe.
[3208.45] Jack: Yeah, Rich is definitely up for being fire marshal.
[3210.77] Jack: He says, I'm on it.
[3213.01] Jack: Is it going to be a musical fire marshal?
[3217.01] Tony: Probably.
[3217.73] Tony: I hope we do have some sit around sing songs.
[3221.89] Tony: I know we've got music and all that lot supplied all night,
[3225.97] Tony: but I hope we have a little campfire sing along with maybe NJ and Andy and Rich,
[3233.09] Tony: because Rich has wrote the song about this.
[3240.53] Curry: We'll be able to throw lipos into the fire to get it going better.
[3243.25] Tony: Yes.
[3244.29] Curry: After the race, just like this just now.
[3246.37] Tony: Bring your dodgy lipos.
[3249.65] Andy: I've got loads of lipos that are about to explode.
[3252.45] Andy: Can I bring them?
[3253.41] Tony: Yeah.
[3253.97] Curry: Make that a new Facebook post.
[3255.89] Curry: Bring your lipo to the bonfire event.
[3258.37] Jack: Oh, no.
[3259.65] Jack: We need to be recycling them, you savages.
[3263.33] Tony: We allowed fire pits or anything like that, actually.
[3265.81] Tony: We might as well ask them.
[3267.25] Frank: They are allowed.
[3269.33] Frank: I mean, they obviously don't want you setting the whole place alight,
[3272.61] Frank: but in the camping area, they're happy with it.
[3279.49] Dom: I'll see if Martin can bring you a tree, you can burn.
[3281.81] Tony: No, no.
[3282.77] Tony: Last year, he dragged a tree with a tractor and that fire was absolutely massive.
[3293.97] Frank: On one of the site surveys, I did spot a little pile of what looked like firewood
[3299.49] Frank: in the corner of one of the airfields.
[3301.41] Frank: And I was like, could we maybe...
[3303.73] Frank: Borrow that?
[3304.53] Frank: No.
[3306.69] Frank: I think fire pits will be good, twice.
[3310.37] Frank: And all kind of dissolve into the field, I'm sure.
[3313.73] Dom: You can burn all the paperwork from the Leagles with HV.
[3316.13] Dom: That'll be a big enough fire.
[3320.61] Tony: The bastards.
[3322.05] Jack: You can barbecue, I believe.
[3324.05] Jack: Yes.
[3324.29] Tony: I just said bastards.
[3325.97] Frank: Oh, well, I said it again.
[3328.61] Frank: We have got first aiders.
[3331.09] Frank: We have got a whole ambulance on site.
[3335.09] Tony: Is there any women first aiders?
[3336.85] Tony: Because I feel a heart attack coming on right now.
[3340.53] Jack: Tony's life literally throws himself at that.
[3343.41] Jack: I need medical attention.
[3346.69] Jack: I'm having a medical crisis.
[3351.57] Jack: Oh, dear.
[3353.09] Jack: We always need first aiders because Jack finds new and ingenious ways to get ill at any occasion.
[3360.37] Tony: I know.
[3360.85] Tony: You go away on holiday to Wales and it's like, oh, hold on, guys.
[3366.61] Tony: Take a stop at the local hospital, of course.
[3368.93] Tony: Just got a stop in here.
[3370.21] Jack: I might as well not book an Airbnb.
[3372.21] Jack: I might as well just stay at the hospitals.
[3379.25] Jack: What else do we need to cover?
[3381.41] Jack: How's Poocam looking, Tony?
[3383.41] Tony: I'm just checking it now.
[3384.93] Tony: Hold on.
[3385.97] Jack: Sorry.
[3386.37] Jack: This is a thing now.
[3389.01] Tony: I'm going live on Poocam.
[3391.81] Jack: Dom, how you been, man?
[3393.57] Tony: I've been all right.
[3393.97] Tony: Like, what's going on?
[3394.93] Tony: Poocam is clear.
[3396.77] Dom: Juggling two webcasts at home.
[3398.29] Dom: I'm just chatting in the Thursday night.
[3401.65] Dom: Your mate Danger's been playing, Andrew.
[3403.89] Dom: Yeah, yeah.
[3405.97] Dom: Filled the chat room up over there.
[3407.33] Dom: So do come over there a bit later on if you fancy some old school.
[3410.61] Tony: What's on tonight, Dom?
[3412.61] Dom: Danger is playing at the moment.
[3413.81] Dom: You've got the weird and wonderful David Devine,
[3415.73] Dom: who is almost as strange and leather underwear as Jack.
[3420.85] Dom: He's on at, oh, God, I'm reading the wrong country's time zone now.
[3425.81] Dom: He's on at 11 o'clock.
[3427.25] Dom: No, he's on now.
[3428.53] Dom: He's just going live.
[3429.57] Dom: There he is.
[3429.97] Dom: He's just gone live.
[3430.85] Dom: Then you've got Digit 3.
[3432.13] Dom: We'll be playing, I don't know, house and millennial music
[3436.53] Dom: that I don't understand.
[3437.41] Dom: And then I'm going to play old school jungle and hardcore.
[3440.13] Tony: And then you'll lose it.
[3441.81] Tony: What time are you playing old school?
[3443.33] Dom: I'm playing at 11.
[3444.21] Dom: You will love it.
[3444.93] Dom: I have got an absolutely fantastic orientated set.
[3448.77] Tony: I want to start like tripping out and stuff.
[3451.17] Jack: Are you a boomer or a Generation X?
[3454.93] Dom: I'm halfway between the two.
[3456.93] Dom: I think you'd be awkward.
[3458.37] Dom: What's boomer?
[3459.17] Dom: Boomers?
[3460.21] Dom: No, yeah, no, boomer's up to 71 or something, isn't it?
[3463.65] Jack: Yeah.
[3464.21] Dom: I'm 73.
[3465.81] Tony: I'm 74, Dom.
[3467.41] Dom: There you go.
[3468.37] Dom: So you were at Stearns, Tony.
[3470.61] Dom: You were at Stearns, right?
[3471.57] Tony: I was at Hasting Spear.
[3473.01] Tony: Oh, yeah, you know.
[3475.01] Dom: Fusion, of course.
[3476.77] Tony: Fusion, Hasting Spear, yeah.
[3478.45] Dom: Do you remember the fire breathers at Fusion?
[3480.61] Dom: Yes.
[3481.09] Dom: That was me.
[3482.13] Jack: So, yeah, they're talking about a time.
[3484.05] Jack: You know, like, we live in BC.
[3487.57] Jack: They're talking about AD.
[3491.65] Jack: I know, Dom and I.
[3492.93] Tony: Mike, why isn't someone else talking about this?
[3499.41] Dom: It's because we're old, Tony.
[3500.85] Tony: Yeah, but there's someone else who I think might be the same age as us.
[3504.69] Dom: They don't understand the connection between a burrow and a cassette.
[3507.73] Tony: I know.
[3508.21] Dom: I have no idea about that.
[3509.73] Dom: It's always savage.
[3512.37] Dom: I know about that.
[3513.57] Tony: Come on, Curry, come on, Curry Kitten.
[3517.17] Tony: Come on, you must know what we're talking about.
[3519.33] Curry: No, he's got a life.
[3521.73] Curry: I forgot all that.
[3523.09] Curry: I certainly do go back to the old little winding the tape round.
[3528.13] Curry: With a pencil.
[3530.69] Curry: Funny thing, if you look at the generation now, they're even worse.
[3533.65] Curry: I showed my daughter the movie The Sixth Sense, which, of course, everybody knows.
[3538.05] Curry: But there's a scene in that where they discover this clue, and it's a videotape,
[3542.85] Curry: and they open up the box like it was a big surprise.
[3544.77] Curry: And you go, oh, and my daughter just said, what's that?
[3547.17] Dom: So tell her that you need to put them out under a roller and flatten them,
[3555.33] Dom: and then they become DVDs.
[3557.89] Curry: Yeah, the idea of not being able to skip to the next track,
[3560.77] Curry: or in fact, having like 2000 tracks on the little thing that's big, it's just, what?
[3567.17] Dom: I listened to the same nine tracks for a year and a half.
[3571.09] Dom: Yeah, it's similar to taking an LP, wasn't it?
[3573.73] Dom: Or fast forward it on a cassette tape.
[3575.49] Dom: Untangling it with a long thread from the cassette recorder in the front of the dashboard.
[3581.09] Tony: What do you miss, Jack?
[3583.33] Jack: I do. I remember it.
[3584.05] Jack: I even know about tape splicing as well with the special tape and everything.
[3592.13] Jack: Shush you, Tony.
[3593.97] Jack: I've got a valve amplifier sat next to me.
[3596.69] Tony: And I know.
[3598.45] Jack: I'm not very musically popular after playing Nightcore the other night.
[3603.41] Jack: I'm really sorry.
[3605.25] Dom: Your first chord was clockwork, wasn't it, Jack?
[3607.65] Jack: Yeah, that's it.
[3611.17] Jack: I'm not that naive, Tony.
[3613.73] Jack: I just didn't attack dinosaurs like you did.
[3617.01] Jack: That's why you're vegan.
[3618.13] Jack: You've seen the horrors of...
[3620.61] Dom: Couldn't catch it.
[3621.49] Dom: You couldn't run fast enough.
[3626.05] Tony: I'm just going to ignore you idiots.
[3629.09] Tony: Is it time to call it?
[3630.85] Tony: Probably, because we've gone on the subject for about
[3633.97] Tony: 10 minutes.
[3636.37] Dom: Andrew, Tony, all power to you and good luck next weekend, mate.
[3641.49] Dom: Thank you.
[3642.05] Tony: More Andrew than me.
[3643.33] Tony: I haven't done much organizing.
[3646.85] Tony: I'm going to help out on the Friday a lot.
[3649.49] Dom: Guys, I...
[3650.13] Dom: I didn't say all power to you, Tony.
[3654.13] Tony: I'm going now.
[3655.49] Dom: Just do what Andrew says, yeah?
[3658.21] Tony: I will.
[3659.09] Frank: That's rule number two.
[3661.41] Frank: Don't piss Frank off.
[3663.97] Frank: If anyone wants a lot of kudos from me,
[3670.77] Frank: please hang around on the Sunday and help with the tidy up.
[3673.41] Frank: That's probably the most terrifying part of the entire event for me at the moment.
[3679.41] Frank: So, yeah.
[3680.85] Frank: Friday, set up, brilliant.
[3683.57] Frank: Fly around and hang around on the Sunday and help clean up would be ace.
[3690.61] Frank: Thank you.
[3691.89] Jack: Don't forget about crash test FPV.
[3694.61] Jack: He's going to be bringing you guys alcohol on request.
[3699.89] Jack: That is excellent news.
[3702.77] Jack: Lovely, man.
[3704.37] Jack: Thank you.
[3704.85] Jack: You've been tuned into Let's Drone Out.

[3785.73] Jack: Goodbye.
[3786.61] Jack: And we hope he feels better, Andy RC.
[3789.25] Jack: Good night, everyone.
[3791.25] Jack: We enjoyed by the original inventor of the Mini Air Show, Don Robinson.
[3799.72] Dom: To do that, I saw an aura.
[3801.32] Dom: Yeah, there we go.
[3802.92] Jack: Helps if you turn your microphone on.
[3805.32] Jack: Basic technology.
[3806.52] Jack: Pro-sessional.
[3808.36] Jack: Him having to go at me just because I didn't plug the right cable into the right thing.
[3813.16] Jack: Yeah, but it wasn't XLR into the wall, so that's not a good idea.
[3818.12] Jack: He had three pins.
[3819.96] Jack: It should count.
[3822.44] Jack: And Curry Kitten.
[3824.36] Jack: Goodbye.
[3825.56] Jack: And my little kitten.
[3827.56] Tony: Up wall.
[3829.72] Jack: And I'd be bright until I fly, Jack.

[3838.28] Andy: No, it didn't me.
[3839.32] Jack: I always make sure he's just quiet.
[3842.28] Jack: He's not feeling very well.
[3843.56] Jack: Eat properly, Andy RC.
[3845.56] Jack: If anyone does know Andy's address, please feel free to deliver food to him.
[3849.16] Jack: Thank you and good night.
[3851.96] Andy: Peace.
[3853.16] UNKNOWN: Telemetry lost.
