[1410.22] AndyRC: least 12 degrees but no it's been 20 degrees today which is i think it's crazy warm for october

[1424.94] AndyRC: and actually flying no i have yeah i've been testing out all of these um there's there's a
[1432.3] AndyRC: buzzword at the moment which is the $99 quadcopter they're absolutely everywhere and um they're a bit
[1441.42] AndyRC: of a they're a bit of a trick really aren't they uh i think they i mean people have always been
[1447.34] AndyRC: interested in in flying cheap which i understand and um so companies like have capitalized on it
[1454.22] AndyRC: so we've got these three models at the moment that are like nine i think with a coupon one of them
[1460.3] AndyRC: was $89 which is what's is that 60 quid or something like that for like a five inch
[1466.86] AndyRC: and so i've been testing those out and um getting cheaper and cheaper now it's been it's been yeah
[1473.58] AndyRC: it's been really interesting i mean you get what you pay for with them um but they are they are
[1481.02] AndyRC: flyable so that's what i've been up to i mean i've only just got around to start editing my
[1486.54] Curry: tyro thing from like a month ago it's been so long that i think i've lost some of the screen
[1490.94] AndyRC: capture footage i did for like beta flight and stuff yeah i wasn't out of all of them i wasn't
[1498.38] AndyRC: much of a fan of the tyro i mean i was when it came out but then gearbest have come out with
[1503.58] AndyRC: these other two and they are slightly better yeah gearbest i mean you could see from the
[1509.9] Curry: tyro looking at the spec of it it's like that camera's gonna suck and it did yeah to the point
[1515.02] Curry: that my ending of the video is going to be like well that's how it flew there's no point in me
[1520.06] Curry: tuning it because that camera angle is so narrow it just exacerbates every little movement into
[1526.46] AndyRC: weird stuff so unless you replace the lens or the camera and the biggest issue i take with them is
[1532.14] AndyRC: that you know there's 99 quad but hang on you don't have you need to buy a receiver you need
[1539.74] AndyRC: to buy a transmitter fpd goggles a charger and a battery and so that 99 very quickly becomes
[1548.3] AndyRC: 250 and it all becomes a bit you know i'm not people seem to grab onto the fact that you know
[1557.02] AndyRC: oh it's it's it's 99 but it's not there really is it it's 250 and if you spend in 250 you might
[1564.94] AndyRC: as well spend 300 and get just slightly better components and that was kind of my conclusion
[1571.34] Jack: someone needs to do a thing of like the real 99 that like dollars challenge where like they
[1580.86] Jack: bring their tv outside with an extension
[1585.58] AndyRC: that's next challenge i've already done that but it's highly illegal yeah i know but sorry

[1599.1] AndyRC: before it can be done if yeah but then then you've got the issue of new new tv's now don't do analog
[1606.86] AndyRC: so it's useless anyway about five years ago you could have done it but now all analog signals
[1613.02] AndyRC: have gone so um yeah if you could find you could probably find an old analog tv for about a five
[1619.18] AndyRC: or in a cash exchange shop and do it that way or something the only way i can think of doing it
[1625.58] Jack: under 99 is going with your laptop and your phone that you already own outside streaming it to
[1635.42] Jack: yourself so you've got a massive delay and that's one way to fpv i think the cheapest i think to
[1644.78] AndyRC: tethered to truly do it for under a hundred dollars what you do is you go into like b and q
[1650.62] AndyRC: and buy like a sledgehammer and you go to a drone store and when when they're shot you smash the
[1657.66] AndyRC: window open that is definitely northern that and that will be my 99 look at this 99 it's a fan
[1665.66] AndyRC: it's a it's an inspire for 99 for 12 quid maybe you could do it remotely that that got me thinking
[1673.18] Curry: about this really silly project we had once and we we did it with a car my friend i mean italy he
[1678.38] Curry: had his car his little crawler he put an fpv camera on it there's a car called the crawler
[1684.46] Curry: the crawler oh not cruelly and that wouldn't tell well basically he so he had an fpv then he got it
[1693.34] Curry: into his capture card and skyped it to me i wrote some code so i could use like a uh what was i using
[1700.14] Curry: just a playstation joystick on my computer with the skype call coming over with the live footage
[1705.1] Curry: and i could drive it around using this uh little bit of code we wrote that would be fun to do on
[1710.3] AndyRC: the quad very crashy very delight that was uh that was one of the first things that i did with
[1717.58] AndyRC: my rc channel actually was uh to sort of try and because fpv used to be a lot of hacking
[1724.46] AndyRC: at the start you know we didn't have uh even dedicated dedicated goggles cost a fortune and
[1730.62] AndyRC: they were rubbish and i thought how can i fpv on on my phone and my computer so the first like
[1738.38] AndyRC: you know few months of my channel were about doing that and using those cheap easy cap devices
[1745.74] AndyRC: people buy so many of those even now to do fpv and stuff and you can plug them into your phone
