[329.42] Miss Creature: and we were using sparklers and it was super fun. I was barefoot. Fun fact. I stepped on a piece like
[337.18] Miss Creature: this big and it burned almost all the way through my foot. It was terrible. Like it was the worst
[344.14] Miss Creature: burn ever and then I finished the photo shoot. I shot for an hour and 45 minutes. Finished like a
[351.02] Miss Creature: bus and then I died for a little while and got on my motorcycle on road to DC in the water and my
[357.74] Miss Creature: foot slowed up really bad and I almost like had to like amputate my foot because of the giant gap
[365.26] Miss Creature: from the skin being burned away like two inches deep into my foot. It was terrible.
[371.5] Miss Creature: Wow. Terrific. The moral of that story is always wear shoes when you're running around and dancing
[377.66] Miss Creature: with sparklers because stepping on them is terrible. That's good advice. I think that's

[431.5] Miss Creature: something that my foot was destroyed for like months. It was so bad. Plus shifting gears on a

[446.86] Miss Creature: shitty. You just drove quite far, didn't you? I did. I actually just went down to Sarasota to
[454.3] Miss Creature: go down and get FTV and see everybody and then I went to Atlanta for a little bit and lost my Nova

[533.9] Miss Creature: got off of work and I went and sat at the DMV for a couple of hours and then I drove 11 hours to
[538.86] Miss Creature: Sarasota. Wow. Yep and then I hung out in Sarasota for a couple of days and then when I went to go
[545.74] Miss Creature: leave I was going to drop off some stuff to John from Get FPV and we were like let's go burn a
[550.94] Miss Creature: couple packs and yeah we went and burned a couple packs and I lost the Nova and then I stayed the
[557.58] Miss Creature: night in Atlanta. We looked again all day yesterday and then I drove home yesterday and got home at
[563.1] Miss Creature: like 11 o'clock last night to get to work at 5am this morning. You all hardcore, that's proper FPV

[1001.42] Mako: anything I can get my hands on so this one's going to be for racing and this one's going to
[1007.02] Mako: do for freestyle because I love doing just both things among all quad pilots that's that's
[1012.7] NJ: basically the universal answer for everything I want all the things I just want to go fast
[1021.74] Curry: I haven't tried success because I can't afford the batteries they're too expensive
[1035.79] AndyRC: no excuse for that now there's about three quid difference between a 4s and a 6s battery because
[1042.43] AndyRC: it's become so popular just as everything else the price has come down so a 6s battery used to cost
[1048.51] AndyRC: your 45 quid now you know about 25 quid yeah I've seen about 25 from decent I think the AC1's

[1208.43] NJ: think it was a fun version I'm not sure if it's a rolling shutter thing maybe it might have been
[1213.63] Jack: no it was the the screen image rolling image rolling yeah to do with um is it v-sync is that
[1220.67] Jack: the right term or c-sync used to go that's weird you used to get that on the black and white tv
[1227.63] Jack: like a dial that you turn and no tv no tape decks tracking kind of that effect but yeah like
[1238.11] Jack: I think video like uh videos sync on luma or sync on uh push your eyes into your head and it will
[1249.23] NJ: help yeah it's it's interesting to see where that where that ends up the whole rapid fire
[1258.19] NJ: thing I mean I know lots of people that are very happy with the rapid fire um I've not really spent
[1264.43] NJ: any large amount of time with one yet I'm still to be honest with you really very happy with my
[1269.31] NJ: trudy 3.7 still performs like a champ but the areas I fly in lots of woodland and fields and stuff
[1276.59] NJ: I don't sort of really need to go to do anything well you know I'm not racing in a giant metal
[1282.75] NJ: warehouse so it's it's not imperative for rapid fire or clear view but hey if they want to send

[1356.03] NJ: it was a calibration issue but it's worth updating and recalibrating that's a good point you're
[1362.11] AndyRC: supposed to do the RSSI thing aren't you every update yeah I always do it every update with the
[1368.19] NJ: antennas off um yeah just do that calibration I think when you do the firmware update it forces
[1375.07] NJ: you to the calibration anyway and it bugs you until you've done it once and then the firmware
[1379.47] NJ: sort of operates correctly um so it should force you into doing it anyway but yeah worth doing
[1386.03] AndyRC: I'll do that I've been too busy battling with fat shark at the moment so you still fight with them
[1393.55] AndyRC: well they they say they've seen my video and they say they don't see a problem uh so I've said I'm

[1614.75] Curry: at do you just start to get out and fly or do you some people really into the racing but everybody
[1619.63] Curry: everyone I know seems to be more into the freestyle than the racing for some reason
[1623.87] Mako: I'm actually more into racing yeah I've kind of picked up freestyle a little bit later
[1630.27] Mako: um but I I love both I think they're both beneficial because I think with racing you
[1634.67] Mako: get the control and the lines down and with freestyle you're doing like the more acrobatic
[1639.39] Mako: moves like corkscrews and different things like that so because we're about as in the world are
[1644.59] Mako: you I'm in Maine so I'm in the northeast of the United States it's cold there paleo

[2728.91] NJ: candidate yet and I think it's been delayed a little bit too is an absolute paradigm shift

[2740.03] NJ: around and you want to try out the dev build of beta flight four I strongly suggest you do it is

[2769.95] NJ: filters comment on the channel left a really good uh explanation about some of the stuff they're
[2775.31] NJ: doing under the hood but there's everything from how they've reduced the latency to where they've
[2780.03] NJ: tweaked the filters and I mean the most hilarious thing for me was they virtually eliminated prop
[2786.19] NJ: wash um to the point where I was sort of trying to get it to come out by just flying as badly as
[2792.27] NJ: possible if it still existed um I mean all all my quads are running BL Heli32 now and I think that
[2798.91] NJ: does help quite a long way to have a nice fast ESC but they have done something pretty awesome
[2804.99] NJ: this is now as for me and it's it's a big thing to say this because I've always said that the best
[2810.83] NJ: thing is kiss I'm gonna say this is now kiss level of of control and flight feel the flight
[2818.27] NJ: feel is where the magic was in kiss and for me it's just it's that good so uh if you haven't
[2824.19] AndyRC: it's important to point out that kiss has been that good for two years and beta flight has just
[2829.95] Curry: got the ash so how would you just if you've already got a quad that's flying good what is
[2837.31] Curry: the difference is it a bit like because the only thing I I felt like oh maybe it's like that is
[2842.75] Curry: when you go from a regular quad that's flying great and you put crossfire on it and you notice
[2846.91] Curry: that latency decrease is it a little bit like that sort of difference the latency is part of
[2851.95] NJ: the connection for sure um there's definitely something in that but it's it's really there's
[2856.91] NJ: a direct feel that connects at the end of the day the flight controller is just you're not
[2863.15] NJ: directly connected to the quad which is obvious it is essentially a fly-by-wire system you put
[2867.95] NJ: an input in the quad translates it and makes the quad do something and to actually get that quad
[2875.07] NJ: to feel like the flight controller's not there and and you're just so incredibly connected to
[2881.31] NJ: every maneuver you do I feel like the only kind of that magical connection was only ever truly
[2887.31] NJ: achieved uh by the kiss flight controller um and beta flight's always been amazing but it's never
[2893.63] NJ: quite lived up to that in many other ways beta flight is is way better than kiss in terms of
[2898.99] NJ: functionality and all the other stuff but for me it's that magical kind of connection between you
[2903.95] NJ: and the quad and it just feels like all of a sudden and this is the other thing I should mention is
[2909.23] NJ: the tuning envelope has just gone from this to this I've put stock pits for beta flight four
[2915.23] NJ: on a five inch quad and a six inch quad and they both flew with my rates flew with almost exactly
[2921.71] NJ: the same feel and tune and that is a sign of a pretty enormous tuning envelope yeah the problem
[2928.67] AndyRC: is though nj is like I I I watch all your videos and I watch the beta flight for video and it look
[2936.91] AndyRC: because your flying is so good they all look the same to me you know but but I get what you're
[2943.87] AndyRC: saying about the whole tuning thing because yeah if that if that's less of a um you know
[2952.11] AndyRC: if you can just use stock uh tune every single time then that surely has to be a good thing I
[2958.27] Curry: think it helps a lot it will help a lot of people I mean because I use stock now because I'm the most
[2962.91] Curry: rubbish stroke lazy tuner in the world it's like well it seems to fly that's good enough yeah but
[2967.79] Curry: there used to be the micods for nj and then you can obsessively get them perfect and send them back
[2972.19] Curry: to me they're all perfectly as well when they come back oh there you go there was a time though
[2977.55] AndyRC: especially on lightweight cactus if you put stock pits on you would just hear that d-term oscillation

[2993.47] AndyRC: they're all heavy copped as you tried on weren't they nj well no this one this is pretty close to
[2998.67] AndyRC: the magic 600 grams I'm talking about the the 250 size you know it needs to be correct do you
[3007.39] NJ: know what's interesting yeah the six inch quad I have is actually slightly lighter than the five

[3018.91] NJ: like none of the 2.5 inch quads I'm going to load it on everything and see just how wide that

[3029.47] AndyRC: like I would I can sort of build any freestyle copter um that that weighs like uh above 600
[3038.83] AndyRC: grams you know all at weight and use the stock pits and it's pretty good but you went on a race
[3045.63] AndyRC: copter and you you you've got the lighter ones that you know without a battery or you know 270
[3052.11] AndyRC: grams that's when you start to struggle with the tuning so it'd be interesting to see how bit of
[3057.79] NJ: light for acts on those types of models absolutely um what ladies what about you with your tunes how
[3066.35] NJ: how much are you like me do you obsess over tuning or are you kind of plug it in it works

[3202.43] AndyRC: they don't do RTF um if you if if you use a two inch prop the two inch prop gets too close to the

[3220.19] AndyRC: to two inch they don't catch they just get very close so you have to just re uh re solder sorry

[3387.36] Miss Creature: down it makes you do those slower maneuvers as opposed to doing a whole bunch of flippy dippies
[3392.32] Miss Creature: going wild because it's much harder to do with that slower uh those slower settings and stuff
[3397.92] Miss Creature: that he uses whereas if you were to take like Bardwell set up where he has all these crazy fast

[3484.24] Jack: so that if i if i bash my sticks right out to the end it will spin like a boss drill well i
[3491.84] NJ: think to be honest with you your rates are more important certainly now with with uh stock pits
[3498.96] NJ: getting so good and the envelope getting so big i think now that your rates is probably the most
[3504.08] NJ: important journey that you should take getting connected to your quad um because that center
[3510.16] NJ: stick mid-stick and end point sensitivity that connects you when you're flipping and rolling
[3515.6] NJ: or whatever you do that's what's going to bring you out in your flying so um that's what i that's
[3522.48] NJ: always my advice because really get get like find out what your rates are before anything else

[3845.44] NJ: the pit shooting on bait fly whilst been there since 3.5 but four onwards certainly take the

[3856.24] NJ: feed is i was going to ask you about it so it's like it's it's very similar to what they did with
[3861.28] NJ: the throttle it's kind of a predictive acceleration so in a sense is a fast movement it essentially
[3866.96] NJ: is trying to guess where you're going to be and accelerate your response on it um so if you
[3872.08] NJ: actually do fast your inputs and you can work with a high forward feed you can end up with
[3878.16] NJ: something that isn't actually that dissimilar to a tripod it really is mega responsive now
[3883.6] NJ: in fact i know some people who are running actually quite low pits on yaw and then very
[3889.52] NJ: high forward feed and really enjoying it so um you should experiment with that rich
