[784.82] AndyRC: that's the problem. If the winds get too high, then they just push it back. And so drive another
[790.9] AndyRC: way to Cape Canaveral, you know, and then for it to be delayed till the next day. So usually,
[800.42] AndyRC: you'll find you can see it though all over Florida because I mean, it's such a, I mean,
[806.02] AndyRC: when the shuttle took off or used to take off, you could see it all over Florida, you would see it.
[814.42] Tony: You pretty much can, but I just want, we're going to a beach which is like two miles from
[821.62] Tony: four in the morning. Yeah, it's about an hour's drive. So we don't know whether or to even
[827.94] AndyRC: bother going to sleep or not. So what do you think, are you going to, as soon as you see it,
[835.7] AndyRC: tilt over and start to orbit the earth, are you going to change your opinion on the
[842.02] Tony: shape? No, it's, you know, like, you know, the glass thing above the world, it's just missing
[850.42] AndyRC: that, isn't it? Really? Well, what happens when it gets to the edge, it just turns around and

[988.1] Frank: all right. So Tony had a fly. Who else has flown recently? I flew on Monday. Was it Monday, no
[1001.54] AndyRC: Tuesday? You've been on holiday again in your caravan from what I've seen. In the caravan,
[1009.78] Curry: I was using my Mavic Air and I was glad to say that the auto avoidance stuff worked when I was
[1015.62] Curry: doing a lovely orbit around my wife who was doing a run. There was a tree there and it went,
[1019.78] Curry: hey, you're going to hit a tree and went up in the air for me, which was good. But on Tuesday,
[1024.34] Curry: I flew my rebuilt Beta 85 HD. Now I've got a new camera for it and that was very, very good.
[1031.7] Curry: Oh, you liked it, didn't you? I did like it a lot. I thought it was very good.
[1035.38] Curry: Did you fly it on 3S or 4S? I did not do 4S because I was following the recommended
[1040.9] Curry: manufacturer's instructions in this case. I flew it in the house and I flew it outside
[1047.62] AndyRC: on 2S and 3S and various batteries. Yeah, no, I really like that one.
[1055.7] AndyRC: If you start doing Acro with it towards the end of the battery, it does start doing some
[1061.14] AndyRC: pretty crazy stuff. But that actually brings us on to a subject that we were talking about in the
[1068.66] AndyRC: private Let's Drone Out chat that we have. Because I'm seeing a lot of videos pop up
[1076.82] AndyRC: for where they've used models like the Beta 85 and they're doing adverts with them.
[1084.02] AndyRC: I mean, Tony, you were sort of early on the mark with this because you had this idea, but
[1090.82] AndyRC: they're using it in conjunction with a bit of software that's quite controversial though,
[1096.66] Curry: aren't they? So we're talking about this, there was a video with the longboard guy where they
[1103.46] Curry: used the timing to film it, which looks fantastic. And they used the software called RealSteady,
[1108.74] Curry: and I know Benny's been using this as well. And it's kind of okay, I guess,
[1116.1] Curry: using it in a commercial sort of context where you're not trying to produce a real flight,
[1122.02] Curry: you're trying to produce a certain thing at the end of it, I think is fine. But I think it kind of
[1128.02] Curry: would be a cheat if everybody just put this make everything steady thing on. It's kind of like
[1134.26] Curry: putting a GoPro Hero 7 Black and putting the stabilization feature on it. It's like,
[1139.94] Curry: oh my god, your flight's so stable. How do you do that? It's like, well, it's not really. It's
[1143.86] Curry: just taking all the little bits out of it. So I'd kind of much rather see sort of true flying to
[1150.18] Curry: see what can be achieved. But I mean, by all means, put all the special effects in and what
[1155.7] Curry: you need to do your sort of commercial product at the end of it. But I think for regular videos,
[1160.02] Curry: I'd just like to see a more raw flight, personally, for you guys. Yeah, I've been seeing some hashtags
[1165.14] AndyRC: on YouTube. And it's all about adding effects to these cine whoops. I can't remember what the
[1172.34] AndyRC: hashtag is. It's something like the hashtag WFX or something like that. And it's kind of like
[1181.06] AndyRC: doing that sort of thing messing around with the real steady and also adding like kind of like
[1187.54] AndyRC: Instagram filters over the top of it. And then, you know, making it really letterbox. So it's
[1193.54] AndyRC: really cinematic and stuff. But from what I would because I had a quick look into it because, yeah,
[1200.02] AndyRC: that's quite interesting. But apparently, first of all, this real steady software is for after
[1206.42] AndyRC: effects. So you have to be you have well, you have to have after effects. So that is part of that
[1213.46] Curry: Adobe Creative Cloud thing that you can pay a subscription for is that is that still like
[1217.3] AndyRC: hundreds of pounds just to buy? Yeah, yeah, yeah. So so you've got that expense straight away. And
[1223.38] AndyRC: then the real steady, I believe as a plugin that costs $400. And then after that, I believe as well
[1231.86] AndyRC: when you start like, it's it's kind of an art form in its own getting the real steady to work because
[1240.34] AndyRC: it's quite, I think you have to put a lot of work into getting the settings right. Otherwise,
[1248.1] AndyRC: you can tell that it's been tampered with. And second of all, once you have done that,
[1252.74] AndyRC: I think I think Josh did a video. Joshua Bartle did a video comparing real steady against the
[1261.7] AndyRC: built in hero seven steady. And he said that like just one three minute flight with real steady
[1269.54] AndyRC: with a top end computer took an hour to render the video. So, you know, that's, I think I would
[1278.58] AndyRC: just go for a hero seven and turn the stabilization on. And that's why I think it belongs in the
[1286.34] Curry: sort of professional context where you've got it's going to take us a long time to mess with these
[1290.82] Curry: settings. But you know, a professional editor or a fax guy with his bread and butter is messing
[1296.42] Curry: around in After Effects can can probably churn the stuff out quite quickly. I think if you say,
[1301.3] Curry: I'm gonna I'm gonna steady my flight, you'd be there for days.
[1304.26] AndyRC: Yeah, it makes me it makes me one. It makes me wonder, though, when you see, I know, like
[1310.98] AndyRC: something that I'm seeing a lot of now is people who were or are, you know, popular in the racing
[1318.82] AndyRC: scene, such as a bunny and Johnny Johnny FPV. They are now doing these sort of corporate style.
[1328.34] AndyRC: But I don't know whether adverts but sort of cinematic videos. And I just wonder, it's great,
[1335.86] AndyRC: it looks amazing. But I just wonder whether someone else does the After Effects real steady
[1342.82] AndyRC: bit because it seems really involved in which I mean, you know, even with even if you want to cut
[1348.74] AndyRC: a freestyle video together, for me, those can take hours and hours because, you know, you're
[1355.54] AndyRC: picking the best maneuvers and stuff. So add on top, I think to sort out this real steady business,
[1362.58] AndyRC: you're talking hours and hours, I just wonder whether whether they outsource it or something
[1370.26] Curry: like that. I don't know. I would I mean, I'm taking a wild guess here, but I would imagine
[1374.74] Curry: if they're being hired to shoot these corporate gigs, because there's more money in it than
[1381.86] Curry: traipsing about and going racing everywhere. B, it's kind of like there's probably a sort of
[1387.22] Curry: director and an idea of what they want. You get the footage, once we get that, we'll give it to
[1392.26] Curry: the editors, we'll give it to the effects people, they can put it together for the, you know,
[1396.42] Curry: because there's a customer at the end of the day. We should try and get some of these people on and
[1400.5] AndyRC: talk about the process. Well, we had Johnny on the show, so maybe we can get him back. But
[1406.5] AndyRC: did you see his latest video with the drift car? I mean, I think I think that's amazing that
[1414.02] AndyRC: these freestyle copters that we've got, along with that software can get that kind of footage. I mean,
[1421.78] AndyRC: you know, obviously, it takes a incredibly skilled pilot like Johnny as well. But that that's maybe
[1428.18] AndyRC: an avenue. It's an avenue that I never really thought of really, because when you think
[1433.62] AndyRC: stuff like that, you think DJI, but there's no way anything DJI could move around those cars like
[1440.42] Curry: a freestyle copter. What they're trying to do that they're getting really dynamic angles in there,
[1445.54] Curry: which people haven't thought of. And I think, generally speaking, what you'll find is there's
[1450.82] Curry: there's a lot of stuff mixed together. Even if you watch like, the most basic sort of documentary
[1456.34] Curry: on TV now, there's always a bit of like, scene setting bit where you might have a sort of drone
[1461.46] Curry: shot and a close up and and and that's just an extra bit. So you can just imagine these
[1466.1] Curry: looking down on these drift cars from a DJI and then going sort of way in there and sort of
[1471.14] Curry: swooping around with them from a race quad and putting that all together. It's sort of
[1475.78] Curry: yet another another interesting angle to work through. I think we're going to see a lot of it,
[1480.98] AndyRC: especially with car car videos, but I saw another one. I think it was kebab FPV showed someone with
[1489.14] AndyRC: a cine who'd done like an advert for I think it was like a like a Tesco's or like a Walmart or
[1496.1] AndyRC: something like that where they were going, going between the it's like it's all done in one shot
[1501.22] AndyRC: as well. I think as well. Nerk has done like a professional video shoot. So I think that seems
[1509.38] AndyRC: to be the direction people go in. But I was first. I've done Argos for it. I've done Argos video three
[1516.58] AndyRC: years ago. You did do Argos and that looked very good and it looked like CGI. It did, but it wasn't.
[1526.66] AndyRC: So, yeah, so maybe that's what we all need to do. I think skiing is another interesting one. Like
[1532.5] Curry: there's already we already see quite a lot of skiing stuff, but we haven't I don't think we've
[1537.3] Curry: seen, you know, there's these big freestyle things where these guys are just dropped on the top of
[1542.74] Curry: the mountain with heli skiing. Generally speaking, these are sort of these insane routes of vertical
[1548.74] Curry: drops and stuff. And generally speaking, the camera guy and the director is in a helicopter
[1554.34] Curry: and he's trying to get the shots. I can imagine we'll start seeing people following down mountains
[1559.14] Curry: to get a sort of more dynamic angles and having it mixed in like that. I've seen them because I'm
[1564.02] Tony: starting to follow mountain bike videos. I've got people I start to like now because I'm into
[1570.18] Tony: mountain biking and there you can see they're using drones for bikes. That's an interesting one,
[1575.86] Curry: isn't it Tony? Because of course one of the problems about mountain bike routes is you're
[1580.02] Curry: going downhill but going through some trees. So there seems to be a limitation potentially on how
[1585.14] Tony: far you can follow. Well there is, but then there's the jumping side of it, you know,
[1593.54] Tony: when they're doing big tricks and stuff where it's just massive, massive jumps and stuff and
[1598.9] Tony: they're doing double backflips and things down the side of cliffs like the Red Bull.
[1603.38] Tony: Some of the Red Bull runs are just set in the deserts and they're going and doing jumps off
[1608.34] Tony: massive cliffs and stuff. So I've been watching some of the race drone footage from there.
[1615.78] Tony: There's always going to be something to do with these race drones and things now, especially
[1619.94] Tony: these little cine works carrying the GoPro 7 on top. Some of that footage is amazing like
[1626.9] Tony: the advert or the longboard thing that you were talking about. He's one of our

[1640.1] AndyRC: Yeah, it'd be interesting to see how much work goes into it but I imagine it's all
[1645.54] AndyRC: quite top secret as well if it's quite lucrative. I might be able to actually ask him. I think he's

[1793.78] AndyRC: it doesn't matter what camera you've got whereas if you want to use the Hero 7's stability which

[1810.26] Tony: So, you know, that was it. You're sticking one of them on your quad and flying out above water like

[1994.02] Curry: original session and super view only works on 30 frames a second. So I just fly wide on 60 and
[2001.06] Curry: that still looks okay. So if you've got decent camera that can do 1080p 60 and doesn't sort of
[2007.86] AndyRC: shake about and stuff, I think it still looks all right. I don't understand why the G company
[2014.82] AndyRC: is still using square sensors when everybody else has started using 16 by 9 sensors that
[2024.1] AndyRC: then there wouldn't be the need for SV. I think the speaking code here. But the whole dynamic
[2032.58] AndyRC: stretching thing is so that you can utilize the full sensor, right? But companies like
[2040.34] AndyRC: Cadex with their turtle and RunCam with their split. If you take a look at the sensor,
[2045.78] AndyRC: it's a 16 by 9 sensor, not a 4 by 3 sensor. The G company uses 4 by 3 sensors, which is why
[2054.34] AndyRC: they need to use the SV to stretch it to 16 by 9. People aren't going to understand why I'm not.
[2063.38] Curry: Maybe they'll introduce 16 by 9 sensors in version 9 of their particular camera.

[2073.94] AndyRC: So maybe there isn't the need for, you know, if they start or maybe there is a reason why

[2095.06] AndyRC: they're always a, you know, they're not a 4 by 3 aspect sensor size.

[2109.7] Frank: I'm going to say it, because GoPro have got the 4 by 3 sensor and developed the super view.
[2119.46] Frank: And because that's kind of now a feature, like that's a way of seeing things because GoPro are,
[2125.22] Frank: you know, the big king in action cameras at the moment.

[2133.14] Frank: And because that is a way people expect to see the action cam footage,
[2138.66] Frank: then that's almost like a feature that is a selling point to make it look like that.
[2144.02] Frank: So your GoPro aren't going to change, like a different go to a different sensor,
[2149.62] Frank: just to make, you know, less of a software development that they own anyway.
[2157.14] AndyRC: It could also be to do something with the lens in that it sees in that, you know, you can,
[2166.82] AndyRC: you get you get lens distortion with these things. So I guess if the if the sensor is wider,
[2173.22] AndyRC: then you have to have a bigger aperture lens, perhaps, and maybe there are some
[2180.42] AndyRC: downsides. I'm just trying, you know, I'm just this is speculation,
[2184.42] AndyRC: GP company, just for your, just just for your information.

[2318.5] AndyRC: CMOS cameras, they've got bigger sensors than these HD cameras, you know, so I don't I'm not sure
[2326.98] AndyRC: that's a good enough reason to keep the sensor. I'm sure there is a reason. But if you look at
[2333.46] AndyRC: FPV cameras now, they're mostly 16 by nine CMOS. And if you look at the split, the turtle,
[2341.46] AndyRC: you know, the the mix, they are all 69 sensors, not 43. So I think it is to do with the as you
[2353.38] AndyRC: were saying, and this is just my opinion, it's not fact that the look the look of it. So but
[2362.66] AndyRC: considering that other companies can't copy that, why don't they just stick in a 69 sensor and do
[2370.02] AndyRC: things differently rather than try and emulate because emulating it. It doesn't work. If you're
[2378.66] Frank: trying to crop down. So say you've got the full 43 sensor, just get a bit of paper and then cut a
[2388.9] Jack: rectangle bit of paper and move it around with the visual display. Because as you say, podcasts,
[2398.42] Jack: so doing things with hands is a terrible idea. But this is and the RC you can still explain it,
[2404.5] Frank: but and the RC pictures, if you've got a four by three. Well, actually, let's make it even more
[2411.94] Frank: extreme. Let's say you've got a square purely square sensor, a one one, and you're trying to

[2433.94] Frank: you had like a tiny little slit long slit letterbox sensor. And you're trying to if you try and crop
