So these guys are the guys who donate [9.84] Jack: for the editing and they really do make a huge difference to keep the show alive. [17.12] Jack: We've been sponsored by Art Faulkner, Ferdy Evers, Mikey Dread and Under Fluke. [23.2] Jack: These guys are absolute legends. Thank you so much and see you next show. [30.0] Jack: And welcome to another fantastic episode of Stand Alone. We're still here, let's drone out. [68.24] Jack: Massive thank you to Don Robinson and our patreons and anyone who gives us money. [74.72] Jack: Tonight we are joined by my little Tony, Eric from MKME Make Me Labs. [84.64] Jack: Hello. He's a proper YouTuber, verified everything. He's totally legit. [93.68] AndyRC: Think you'll find Jack, I'm also verified but you never watch my videos so you wouldn't know. [99.52] Jack: I do, I do. He's, well I mean like he comes up with a spanner and everything. [107.92] Curry: Why don't we check? In terms of legitimacy we should ask how many [112.32] Curry: strikes they've got each and we'll see who's more legitimate. Is that a fair assessment? [117.92] AndyRC: Well how do strikes make you legit or not? [122.08] AndyRC: He's Canadian, he's never going to have any strikes. [129.12] Eric: What was that Jack? Maybe I haven't rocked the boat near enough. There you go. What was that? [134.96] AndyRC: Jack, you were telling me about the walkthroughs were broke or something like that and so [143.12] AndyRC: people were just putting money on top of it. Where's it to be? [145.84] Jack: Oh hang on, that's a segment for later. [148.24] Jack: Ah okay. [148.72] Jack: That's a segment for later. Stop it. I've done it. [151.84] Tony: Carry on introducing. [153.2] Tony: I've done my Knappestan research. [155.92] Tony: Keep going. [157.92] Jack: We're joined by Danny. [160.08] Jack: Oh is that me? [161.04] Jack: Hello. [162.0] Jack: Well apparently what me and Nandy are saying call him. [168.16] AndyRC: You shouldn't stop saying things like that. [171.76] Jack: You do. You're like is daddy back yet? I was like I think so. [177.44] Jack: Sophie if you're listening to this. [179.6] Curry: She's not listening to this. She's got more things to do on her phone. [182.96] Jack: No, no, in the future when Curry's dead and you're listening to it. [188.24] Jack: And like you're crying because you actually miss him. [192.56] Jack: Remember how much he embarrasses you and how much his friends embarrass you [196.96] Jack: and then just think you've got the inheritance and you're glad he's dead. [202.56] Jack: On that note, are we all joined by Andy RC? [210.08] Jack: Hello everybody. [211.52] Jack: Who's also verified. [214.32] AndyRC: Yeah, I think it was a mistake that they verified me though because [220.48] AndyRC: when I hit 10,000 subscribers I got verified. [223.28] AndyRC: I was like what's this? [224.72] AndyRC: I thought you had to be like there are people with millions of subscribers that aren't verified. [230.08] AndyRC: So I think mistake on Google especially as they gave me a copyright strike [235.12] AndyRC: and I still got the tick thing. [236.88] AndyRC: So I don't know what it actually does. [239.12] AndyRC: Just the tick. [240.16] AndyRC: Can anyone tell any privilege with a tick? [244.16] AndyRC: It doesn't do anything. [247.2] Eric: I only got mine because I pushed back when we had partner managers years ago [251.84] Eric: and he got it for me when I had just, I used to do a weekly live show. [256.72] Eric: If you go back on my channel, I did tech live for like five years and every Monday [261.12] Eric: and I had these same issues periodically and it was the ingest servers [266.48] Eric: and specifically it was the server in Chicago that was my problem. [271.04] Eric: If I'd VPN around that so that I'd trick it and come in anywhere but Chicago, [276.8] Eric: which is closest to me, I'd have no problems. [280.0] Eric: But it was definitely the YouTube side. [282.72] Eric: I don't think you guys should feel bad. [284.72] Eric: I imagine this is. [285.52] Curry: Oh, it's saying it's come back again. [288.32] Curry: Is it people saying this? [289.84] AndyRC: Yeah, it's. [290.72] AndyRC: Oh yeah, it's come back again. [292.24] AndyRC: How much of a delay? [294.0] AndyRC: Hang on. [294.64] AndyRC: Man, it seems to be up. [296.08] Tony: Is it YouTube doing this? [300.8] Tony: It's got to be. [301.6] Tony: No comment. [304.24] Eric: I just don't think they like the live stuff anymore. [307.12] Eric: They definitely don't favor it in bandwidth, at least not for smaller channels. [311.12] Eric: I did get that out of my partner manager too. [313.2] Eric: I got them to admit that they do throttle bandwidth according to subscriber base. [317.36] Eric: There you go. [321.92] Tony: You can tell you watch. [323.12] Tony: I'll watch mountain bike videos and people with lots of subscribers [327.76] Tony: have got brilliant picture going through the woods really fast. [330.96] Tony: You can see the trees and stuff like that. [333.28] Tony: When you watch mine back, pixelated mess. [337.04] AndyRC: Because I've got like two subscribers. [339.68] AndyRC: So does this new system take up more bandwidth and hangouts? [343.76] Tony: I don't know, but apparently we're all good. [345.84] Tony: Let's talk some drone stuff. [348.4] Tony: Okay. [348.8] Tony: Has anyone seen? [351.04] Tony: I'll see models review of his only being able to fly 25. [357.2] Tony: Well, what was it? [358.16] Tony: 250 meters using 25 milliwatts on the new DJI system. [365.44] Curry: Yes. [366.16] Curry: Yes, I have. [367.68] Tony: I just started. [369.84] Curry: Well, it didn't seem very good, did it? [371.76] Curry: Although one could argue, of course, that if you were the 25 milliwatt setting is supposed [376.96] Curry: to be for racing and a race course is just about going to fit in that, I suppose, isn't it? [383.44] Curry: Although it's lighting up. [386.48] Curry: Actually, I just started watching Tommy's follow up one. [389.76] Curry: It seems it seems to come. [391.2] AndyRC: I see that track also. [392.88] Curry: Yeah. [393.12] Curry: The current plan is to release your initial. [395.36] Curry: This is brilliant. [396.08] Curry: Here's my link. [397.04] Curry: And then a week later, review it and say, actually, it's a bit crap. [401.44] Curry: Here's how it goes badly wrong. [403.44] Curry: Where do you get your ones, Andy? [404.56] Curry: Did the DJI send you on them? [406.8] AndyRC: No. [407.76] Curry: You bought it. [409.2] AndyRC: I smuggled one into the country. [411.2] AndyRC: I smuggled one into the country. [414.0] AndyRC: Please explain. [415.12] Tony: You don't have to use 25 milliwatt, do you? [418.8] AndyRC: No one does. [420.08] AndyRC: No one does. [421.52] AndyRC: There is already a... [423.28] AndyRC: I'm not going to say it. [424.4] AndyRC: Carry on. [424.88] AndyRC: There's already an unlocker. [426.0] AndyRC: There's already an unlocker. [428.72] AndyRC: It's the same system in the end, it turns out. [430.88] AndyRC: Yeah. [431.76] Curry: Zero FPV is just saying, oh, my God, just released a new video. [435.12] Curry: I just started watching it whilst we were waiting to set up. [438.48] Curry: And they did the thing where he's just... [440.64] Curry: I only watched about 10 minutes of it, but he was just flying out. [443.12] Curry: He's about 50 meters away, and he gets somebody to turn on next to him. [449.04] Curry: And he has a complete lockup. [450.72] Curry: The screen just locks. [453.44] Curry: It's still image, so he crashes and stuff. [456.08] AndyRC: That's going to happen. [456.96] AndyRC: That's why everybody's digital TV locked up when I was using analog on... [462.56] Tony: I thought it would be the other way around. [464.56] Tony: I'm sure you said, Andy, if it would be DJI would take over the analog stuff. [474.08] AndyRC: I mean, knock out each other, I would have thought. [477.36] AndyRC: I'd have thought they would both. [480.48] AndyRC: I'm not sure. [482.0] AndyRC: Yeah, when I did it, yeah, analog. [487.44] AndyRC: It was the digital that got knocked out, and analog was fine. [492.88] Tony: Oh, okay. [494.4] Tony: I thought when I listened back that you said it was the other way around. [497.52] AndyRC: No, no. [497.92] AndyRC: So what did Tommy... [499.44] AndyRC: I haven't seen the video, Wayne. [501.52] AndyRC: What did Tommy find that when he turned his analog on, it locked out the DJI stuff, [506.8] AndyRC: but analog was fine? [508.64] Curry: Well, I haven't got that far, but he was flying. [511.04] Curry: He got his friend to turn on next to him, because he's got his DVR recording, [515.68] Curry: and that just completely locked. [517.44] Curry: So he just fell out of the sky instantly. [520.0] Curry: So there was no interference. [521.36] Curry: There was no pixelation. [522.32] Curry: There was no warning. [523.12] Curry: It was just frame phrase or freeze frame. [526.64] Tony: It looks like we've flown too far away from you. [531.6] AndyRC: Yeah, yeah, you've turned into the blob that I was last week for some reason. [537.12] AndyRC: At least your turn to be the blob this week for some reason. [541.04] AndyRC: You were fine, and then it should just become a blob. [543.68] AndyRC: I wonder what happens if you turn your video off and on and stuff. [548.4] AndyRC: No, he's not blobby anymore, but he is not. [550.64] AndyRC: No, he's blobby when he talks, and I'm not talking about his weight either. [556.0] AndyRC: If you click on him, he's blobby. [558.32] AndyRC: Anyways, we should talk to our guests that we have. [562.64] AndyRC: Yeah. [563.12] AndyRC: I know. [564.0] Curry: Eric, can you tell me where DGI digital stuff is interesting to you? [571.28] Eric: Yeah, I've been following it, just because obviously it seems like where things are [576.24] Eric: headed eventually. [577.6] Eric: Definitely not there yet, and Bruce said it really good in his first video there, [582.88] Eric: and I think, yeah, it was in his first video when he kind of just did the unboxing, [586.96] Eric: but just stared at the box, and he said somebody asked him whether he was going to take it [591.2] Eric: apart, and his answer was no, because it would cost me a ridiculous amount of money if I did, [597.68] Eric: because it was on loan to him, and I said that right there is the answer to the questions. [603.04] Eric: If you can't take the unit apart because you will go bankrupt and go broke touching it, [609.84] Eric: it's not ready for prime time yet. [611.68] Eric: It's just for early adopters. [614.16] Eric: Just that alone. [615.44] Eric: Not to mention the performance problems. [617.44] AndyRC: That's interesting. [618.32] AndyRC: I didn't realize that he'd had one on loan, because I got offered one on loan, and I'm like, [626.56] AndyRC: no way. [628.08] AndyRC: No way. [630.48] AndyRC: What do you want me to do free advertising for you? [633.04] Tony: That's all it was, and if you break it, you've got to pay for it and stuff. [639.12] AndyRC: Oh, yeah, it's got to come back in the condition that you sent it, [642.64] Tony: which is why Bruce can't take it apart. [645.44] Tony: They've got so much money, man. [649.12] Tony: Why do they need to save stuff? [652.48] AndyRC: I'm having a middle token in the bathroom. [658.32] AndyRC: How come I can still hear Jack, but I can't see him? [661.52] SPEAKER_02: He's joined on another device in the bathroom. [667.2] AndyRC: Why? [669.28] AndyRC: Is he using that? [670.96] SPEAKER_02: Is he using the bathroom? [672.72] SPEAKER_02: I don't know. [673.36] SPEAKER_02: I might have just scared him off, because I'm a scary bloke. [676.16] AndyRC: Are we about to hear something really horrendous? [680.88] Tony: And he's in the bathroom. [682.48] Tony: Oh, my God. [685.04] AndyRC: Well, let me ask Eric this. [687.12] AndyRC: You're not a blub anymore, right? [688.72] AndyRC: Carry on. [689.6] Curry: Okay. [690.08] Curry: I was going to ask Eric if he can tell us a little bit about his channel, [693.04] Curry: because it's not just drones. [694.64] Curry: It's all sort of electronics and building stuff and fixing stuff, [698.4] Curry: which is quite interesting if you're into that sort of stuff. [701.6] Curry: What's your sales pitch there, Eric? [702.96] Curry: What are you up to? [705.2] Eric: I run a YouTube channel exactly how you should not run one. [709.68] Eric: I upload whatever I'm interested in and working on at the time. [714.24] AndyRC: That's how you should run it. [716.4] Eric: Not if you want to build a channel. [719.44] Eric: This summer, when I switched to... [721.6] Eric: I've gone back to some of my outdoors projects, [723.84] Eric: because it's beautiful outside in the northern hemisphere, [726.4] Eric: and you get massive exoduses of people unsubscribing. [730.88] Eric: But anyway, I do electronics a lot, mainly Arduino, [734.24] Eric: Raspberry Pi electronics, 3D printing, some quad stuff, [739.52] Eric: as you guys know. [741.6] Eric: Play with older equipment, X215 Pro, and old red bottom stuff, [747.04] Eric: and old one-shot speed controls, so I don't rock the new equipment. [752.0] Eric: I just play with what interests me at the time. [755.28] AndyRC: I think that's the best way to do it, though, [757.36] AndyRC: because all of these people that go... [762.08] AndyRC: We all know there's two routes to getting subscribers, [767.52] AndyRC: and that is vlogging and gaming, [771.04] AndyRC: and you tend to find that those people, [776.08] AndyRC: they start to absolutely despise what they do. [780.96] AndyRC: If you look at Casey Neistat, for example, [784.72] AndyRC: I don't think we've heard of him for a month. [788.56] AndyRC: I know he's moving to LA, [790.24] AndyRC: but he goes for long periods of time, [793.92] AndyRC: and you can clearly see that he's not enjoying it. [796.48] AndyRC: Fun for Louis, you might not be aware of him. [801.28] AndyRC: He's stopped daily vlogging, [803.6] AndyRC: and you can clearly tell throughout watching his videos [807.36] AndyRC: that he was not enjoying it anymore. [809.68] AndyRC: So, I would rather... [814.48] AndyRC: My channel doesn't grow as much as the others, [817.28] AndyRC: but I would rather do stuff that interests me [821.76] AndyRC: than do something just because it's popular. [827.76] AndyRC: It'll get you more subscribers or whatever. [830.8] Eric: Yeah, that's what I do it for, [832.0] Eric: is just strictly to share what I'm up to and what I find fun, [835.44] Eric: and that changes. [836.4] Eric: It waxes and wanes by season, [838.32] Eric: and what I have available, [839.76] Eric: and what I'm kind of excited about. [842.56] Eric: A lot of people follow along. [843.84] Eric: There's the diehards that have been with me [845.84] Eric: for nearly a decade or more, [848.48] Eric: and then some people come and go. [851.44] Eric: Some videos get lots of views. [853.04] Eric: Some videos don't. [854.96] Eric: I don't put it up there. [857.04] Eric: I have a daytime job, a good job that I like very much. [860.4] Eric: So, it's just fun. [862.96] Eric: It's a fun hobby. [863.76] Eric: It's a self-sustaining hobby. [865.36] Eric: What is it you do for your day job, then? [866.96] Jack: Hunt Bears. [867.68] Jack: He's Canadian. [870.48] Curry: Well, I'm visiting the west of Canada many times. [876.0] Curry: Everybody I talk to has at least one bear story [878.64] Curry: where they were in the woods and a bear came along [880.88] Curry: and they had to do something. [882.4] Curry: But I don't know where abouts you are, I reckon. [884.16] Curry: Are you in the east or the middle or the west? [886.0] Eric: I'm right in Southwestern Ontario, [888.08] Eric: which is mainly where the bulk of the population is. [892.4] Eric: So, it's highly populated, not far from Toronto. [895.6] Eric: So, you and I have a bear story, I guess. [897.68] Eric: There's not very many around here, the odd one here and there, [900.24] Eric: but it's not too far to go to run into them. [903.28] Eric: A lot of moose, not too far from here. [906.24] Eric: Moose are deadly, aren't they? [907.36] Eric: They're really angry. [908.32] Eric: Way worse than a bear. [910.16] Eric: I'd be much more concerned about moose [912.32] Eric: if I'm up in the north than I am about bears. [914.64] Eric: Bears take off. [915.52] Eric: They run away. [916.24] Eric: Moose don't. [917.92] Tony: Talking of subscribers, I'd like to thank all of us. [921.52] Tony: I'm just going to go through the chat quickly. [923.6] Tony: So, we've got Southwest Kitty in the chat. [926.08] Tony: We've got Rob Britton. [927.12] Tony: Thank you. [927.68] Tony: South Airy's in the chat. [929.84] Tony: Lurgy, what's up? [931.28] Tony: Owen Kelligan. [932.48] Tony: We've got AudioGeek, MrFruitCakes. [939.04] Tony: I'm just trying to find some more. [942.14] Tony: FXNode, Spider, DroneRacer101, DoubleA. [952.45] Tony: Hey, by the way, it's so terrific. [955.97] Tony: So, I just want to say thank you [957.57] Tony: for all you guys for hanging in here with us [960.05] Tony: while we go through this transition [961.97] Tony: from Google Hangouts that are taking it away. [964.61] Jack: Mate, I'm just a female. [966.53] Tony: And we're trying to do this and make it better for you guys. [970.77] Tony: Can I just say it? [971.65] Tony: Sorry, it's got a bit of pants. [972.93] Tony: Zero, hello. [974.29] AndyRC: It's good to... [976.05] AndyRC: It's my audio coming through. [977.57] AndyRC: Can you hear me okay? [978.53] AndyRC: Hey, what? [980.69] AndyRC: All good, Andy. [982.05] Jack: Please do the talking stats. [985.33] AndyRC: Oh, no. [987.01] AndyRC: We've got that. [989.49] AndyRC: I just want to say this one thing [990.93] AndyRC: and then I'm going to say nothing. [992.13] AndyRC: It's great to see DroneRacer101 back [997.01] AndyRC: for whatever reason you haven't been posting [999.41] AndyRC: and how you've been busy, work and everything like that. [1002.29] AndyRC: I miss NJ. [1005.25] AndyRC: We all miss NJ also. [1008.21] AndyRC: When he's not guitar-ing, he's rocket-leaking. [1011.73] AndyRC: Come back, NJ. [1012.93] Curry: All collecting watches [1014.29] Curry: from what I can tell for an Instagram post. [1016.37] Tony: Yeah, man. [1018.21] Tony: I just wanted to thank everyone for bearing with us [1020.69] Tony: while we go through this transition. [1022.77] Jack: Bear, mooting. [1024.21] Jack: Mooting with us. [1025.65] Curry: Yes, Tony is at an exciting stage for all of us [1028.77] Curry: and we're keen to see it going to come. [1031.17] Curry: It will be Tony with an eye and a little apostrophe. [1033.73] Tony: I was actually going to be... [1036.05] Andy: If I was a girl, I was going to be called Tony. [1039.41] Andy: I posted a picture today of Tony's, part of Tony's transition. [1045.17] Tony: That was so funny. [1047.81] Tony: When I woke up this morning, I looked and you just look at Jack's face. [1052.45] Tony: It's like... [1055.01] Tony: I don't know why. [1057.41] Curry: Were you actually holding hands in that or were you skipping along? [1061.57] AndyRC: Skipped and everything. [1062.85] AndyRC: I had to do a lot of work to that picture [1065.33] AndyRC: because it was really out of focus, which is why it's grainy. [1068.37] AndyRC: So I had to sharpen it. [1071.41] AndyRC: Otherwise, it was completely blurred. [1074.21] AndyRC: I just got it to a point where you could just see Jack's expression [1077.73] AndyRC: and I was like... [1080.61] Jack: Tony's doing something that means he's comfortable in his sexuality. [1086.85] AndyRC: He was doing it just to annoy you, you see. [1090.13] AndyRC: That's why I loved it. [1093.33] Jack: I'm very happy for you two. [1098.29] Curry: That's the excuse. [1099.33] Curry: When Tony says things like, [1100.61] Curry: yeah, I had sex with Andy R.C. but just to annoy Jack, it's like, really? [1108.29] Jack: It's not going if it's an annoying show. [1110.21] Tony: Right, hold on, hold on, hold on, stop. [1112.61] Tony: The sky will please. [1116.05] Curry: Any views expressed by any guests, or including me, [1119.41] Curry: on this show are personal and may not reflect the views of hosts [1122.21] Curry: or any participant of the show. [1124.61] Tony: Thank you very much. [1126.21] Curry: Eric, I have another question for you. [1128.29] Curry: What is the situation in Canada as far as drone laws go? [1132.29] Curry: Because we're having all sorts of draconian rules brought in over here [1135.97] Curry: that we don't like much. [1136.93] Curry: What's it like over there for you? [1139.81] Eric: Yeah, Bruce went on a bit of a tirade about it. [1142.21] Eric: It's not what people say it is. [1145.17] Eric: Yes, the rules are pretty standard that thou shalt not fly over things [1150.21] Eric: and do bad things and whatever. [1152.93] Eric: But if you spend the money and become a Mac member, [1155.89] Eric: which is just basically an insurance company, it's a model. [1160.21] Eric: It's like AMA, but easier. [1162.61] Eric: That's about a hundred Canadian dollars a year, [1164.93] Eric: and they cover you with full insurance [1166.53] Eric: when you're flying on Mac sanctioned events or whatever. [1169.81] Eric: If you're a member, you're exempt from the drone rules completely. [1173.33] AndyRC: Oh, man, we so need that. [1175.57] Eric: It's a complete blanket example. [1177.17] Eric: You have to remember and fly on their sites to get that exemption. [1181.57] Eric: It doesn't have to be a written permission site. [1184.29] Eric: You just have to have permission. [1186.05] Eric: And it's kind of a little bit gray there and yet. [1189.41] Tony: And English and live in England and do it. [1194.85] Eric: Yeah, Mac won't cover you overseas, [1196.61] Eric: but it does cover us when we go to the US. [1199.09] Eric: But basically, if you're a Mac member, [1203.01] Eric: you're going to do things a little smart. [1205.73] Eric: And ultimately, I can speak for my province, [1208.85] Eric: which is the most populated province in Canada, Ontario. [1212.05] Eric: The OPP, which is our Ontario Provincial Police, [1215.33] Eric: do not have one care about enforcing one drone lot ever. [1220.77] Eric: They have way better things to do. [1223.09] Eric: They are going to come in stupid lying at a park or whatever. [1228.45] Eric: If you do have something stupid and people are pissy about it, okay, they might. [1232.29] Eric: But just don't do anything dumb. [1235.33] Curry: I mean, the public perception, because over here, [1238.29] Curry: it feels like the media is kind of trying to poison people against drones. [1242.13] Curry: They're like, drones shut down Gatwick, [1244.13] Curry: although we can see one and that sort of thing. [1246.05] Curry: Is the public like, whatever, it's just doing his own thing. [1248.77] Eric: We don't know. [1249.81] Eric: It's the same here. [1250.93] Eric: Your Gatwick stuff, it's built here just the same. [1253.81] Eric: And everybody's just as fired up as they are overseas. [1258.13] Eric: It's not all that different. [1259.89] Eric: But ultimately, when it comes to enforcement, that's what matters. [1263.41] Eric: Is somebody going to come there and give you a $1,000 ticket? [1267.33] Eric: No, it'll never happen. [1268.61] Eric: Not unless you're doing flying at an airport or something really dumb. [1272.53] Eric: Nothing has really changed. [1273.89] Eric: I pay my Mac membership. [1275.57] Eric: I'm a member of the local club. [1277.17] Eric: They're great guys, but it's pretty boring to fly on their field. [1281.17] Eric: My videos show it. [1282.77] Eric: It's all right. [1284.37] Eric: But I still fly at the local park where there's nobody. [1286.93] Eric: If there's people there, I don't fly. [1289.41] Eric: Someone just come out of your toilet, Jack. [1292.37] Tony: I know it's serious. [1294.37] AndyRC: So there were two people in the toilet when Jack went in there. [1298.37] AndyRC: That's why you weren't in there. [1299.73] Tony: That's interesting, isn't it? [1301.09] Jack: Well, the cheetah is no longer being cheated on. [1306.29] AndyRC: Looks like there's a triangle going on there. [1310.21] Jack: Square, love square. [1312.77] AndyRC: Can I, for a second, this is off topic, talk about my favorite people from Ontario. [1321.65] AndyRC: Did I say that right? [1322.53] AndyRC: Ontario. [1323.17] AndyRC: Ontario. [1325.81] AndyRC: Tom Green. [1327.09] Eric: Yeah. [1327.57] AndyRC: Oh, geez. [1329.25] AndyRC: Norm Macdonald. [1331.73] AndyRC: You don't know. [1332.37] AndyRC: Do you know Norm Macdonald? [1333.57] AndyRC: Do you know who I'm talking to? [1334.85] AndyRC: Oh, man. [1335.97] AndyRC: Norm Macdonald is my favorite comedian ever. [1339.09] AndyRC: He's from Ontario. [1341.25] AndyRC: Same. [1341.49] Eric: You do know there's tens of millions of people in Ontario, right? [1345.49] Eric: Yeah, but there's not. [1346.69] AndyRC: Okay. [1347.97] AndyRC: London, Ontario. [1349.97] AndyRC: You've got like four celebrities, though. [1351.89] AndyRC: Jim Kerry. [1352.85] AndyRC: Another one. [1354.05] AndyRC: Done dance. [1354.69] Eric: Yeah, yeah. [1356.53] AndyRC: Wow. [1357.25] Eric: A lot of actors and comedians out of Ontario, actually. [1360.05] Eric: A lot. [1360.45] Eric: Yeah. [1360.85] Jack: Stop talking. [1361.57] Jack: Frank's talking. [1363.01] Tony: Double A says in the chat, MKMELab, good to see you live. [1368.77] Tony: That is one of your subscribers. [1371.57] Tony: Andy R.C. says, Frank C. says, what are you drinking tonight? [1375.73] Tony: Andy R.C. [1376.85] Tony: Don't say it's coke, because you're... [1379.17] AndyRC: Well, I'm afraid it's Aldi's finest vibe, cola. [1385.49] Curry: Jesus. [1385.89] Curry: You can't even watch. [1386.85] AndyRC: There must be something else in there. [1389.49] AndyRC: I tell you what, when you drink a couple of these... [1394.13] AndyRC: Shut up! [1395.41] AndyRC: Shut up, shut up. [1396.53] AndyRC: Frank's trying to talk. [1398.05] SPEAKER_02: I was just... [1399.89] SPEAKER_02: I was interested to know about the, you know, with the Raspberry [1403.17] SPEAKER_02: Pi's and Arduinos and everything, whether you've worked any of that [1405.97] SPEAKER_02: into any of the stuff you've done with drones. [1409.65] Eric: Well, since you ask, even my channel hasn't seen this yet. [1414.69] Eric: I've been playing with... [1416.45] Eric: This is a small microcontroller called an ESP8266. [1420.05] Eric: It's a Wi-Fi enabled microcontroller. [1422.93] Eric: This is just on a breadboard for prototyping, but with a small antenna, [1428.37] Eric: I've been testing this to sniff the packets coming from your phone. [1434.77] Eric: All cell phones, every 500 milliseconds, emit a pulse looking for an access point. [1439.81] Eric: You can use that to triangulate position with either a big antenna or one of these small guys. [1447.09] Eric: And if you put one of those small guys into something like the Nano Talon, [1452.61] Eric: you now have a fantastic search and rescue device, particularly in rural Canada. [1459.49] Eric: You send this up and then you can send it back home with one of these [1463.49] Eric: NRF modules they use for telemetry on all the iNav and ArduPilot and stuff. [1468.69] Eric: So I've been playing around with that and I'm going to put iNav in this. [1473.01] Eric: And my initial testing works perfectly. [1475.89] Eric: You can send it up. [1477.09] Eric: You can do it by hand with a Yagi and tell whether a person is in a big swath of bush [1483.01] Eric: as long as their phone is still charged, which is pretty handy in Canada or like [1488.85] Eric: East Coast or West Coast USA, where people get lost every day. [1492.61] Eric: It's very hard to find them. [1494.53] Eric: So that's something I've been playing with. [1496.61] Eric: And so far the code's working. [1498.69] Eric: It actually works really well. [1500.77] Eric: Debated on releasing it, but I'm not sure. [1503.57] SPEAKER_02: There's quite a few search and rescue volunteer groups in the UK at least, [1509.09] SPEAKER_02: using drones for that sort of thing. [1512.53] SPEAKER_02: I mean, have you got in touch with any out in Canada that might be interested in that? [1519.57] Eric: Yeah, there's a local here. [1520.85] Eric: I'll be honest. [1521.57] Eric: This is the first project that I haven't published while I'm working on it [1525.57] Eric: because I debated on actually doing the hardware as a commercial device [1530.37] Eric: because no one is doing it. [1533.89] Eric: I've done Hackaday Prize projects every year for the last several years, [1538.61] Eric: even one third place a few years ago. [1540.69] Eric: Nice. [1541.01] Eric: Trip to Switchbend and stuff. [1542.37] Eric: Yeah, I release everything open source on my channel. [1545.65] Eric: This is the one thing I've held back just a little bit, [1549.09] Eric: just because no one is doing it except one company, [1552.21] Eric: and they're charging tens of thousands of dollars for crap hardware. [1558.37] Eric: This costs nothing, and I could sell it. [1560.29] Eric: They're cheap to the SAR units and make a product they can afford. [1563.57] SPEAKER_02: Absolutely. [1564.53] Eric: Not just tens of thousands that no local search and rescue can afford. [1569.73] Eric: I'm thinking about that, but I'll probably just release it open source. [1573.09] AndyRC: No, no, don't. [1575.09] AndyRC: I mean, you should... [1576.13] AndyRC: Oh, Peter over here. [1580.21] AndyRC: I'm just saying it's quite a lot of work. [1582.05] Jack: If you want to find your loved ones, you've got to pay me. [1585.17] AndyRC: Yeah, I think you should. [1586.85] Eric: I see it from both sides, and I totally agree with you, Andy. [1590.21] Eric: The trick is, though, I always come back to, could I have done this by myself? [1594.77] Eric: And the answer is always no, because I'm borrowing code [1597.81] Eric: and ideas that other people have published free, [1600.53] Eric: so that I never feel right about trying to commercialize it, [1603.65] Eric: even though I probably should. [1606.05] Curry: It depends on the life of that, doesn't it? [1607.89] Curry: It's like if GPL code is ever involved, it's like this viral thing. [1611.33] Curry: It's like any GPL free code in there equals every single bit on top of it [1615.57] Curry: must be open sourced as well. [1617.89] SPEAKER_02: And they're not mutually exclusive either. [1620.05] SPEAKER_02: I mean, look at the Arduino or the Raspberry Pi... [1623.57] SPEAKER_02: I mean, the Arduino more than the Raspberry Pi, [1625.17] SPEAKER_02: but Arduino stuff itself, it's technically open source hardware, [1630.29] SPEAKER_02: but they're still selling it. [1631.49] SPEAKER_02: And you could buy other people using the same designs, [1635.89] SPEAKER_02: the Orange Pies or whatever else that are sort of Arduino type clones. [1640.05] SPEAKER_02: But the Arduino are still making a load of money, [1644.05] SPEAKER_02: because they're the trusted people that have got all the software [1646.85] SPEAKER_02: and everything else that goes with it. [1649.33] Eric: Yeah, it's tough. [1651.49] Eric: I'll probably end up giving it away like I usually do, [1654.13] Eric: but it's actually usually hackaday prize that puts me over the edge, [1659.25] Eric: because at least there's an incentive. [1660.77] Eric: At least you can win something and they get it out to the right audience. [1664.45] Eric: So usually I use them, except this year they failed miserably [1667.49] Eric: and did a really crappy commercial prize. [1670.13] Eric: They're trying to get people to make commercial products [1672.85] Eric: and close source everything this year. [1675.01] Eric: It's quite bad. [1675.65] Eric: So that's why I didn't submit it. [1677.25] Eric: But yeah, that's what I'm working on. [1679.09] Curry: Does it just work on knowing someone's phone number [1681.89] Curry: and you can just look for that broadcast or something in the air? [1685.65] Eric: This only works by MAC address. [1687.81] Eric: So it can see that it only publishes the MAC address [1690.69] Eric: that when it does the ping for the AP. [1693.25] Eric: So I can see the MAC addresses. [1695.65] Eric: Technically, you can use it to track someone pretty easy [1697.97] Eric: once you know the MAC address or their phone. [1699.57] Eric: That's not hard to do, which is the more nefarious use of it. [1705.09] Curry: If someone goes missing, is it a case of you'd be hunting for a signal [1709.89] Curry: like in the woods or something? [1711.09] Curry: Or would you have some way of finding out their MAC address [1713.57] Curry: from the phone supplier or the network supplier or something like that? [1717.09] Eric: You could probably get it. [1718.69] Eric: Law enforcement could probably get it from the phone company. [1722.77] Eric: But that takes too long. [1723.97] Eric: It's time is of the essence when somebody's lost in the bush [1727.09] Eric: and their phone's only alive for, what, 12 to 24 hours anyway. [1732.13] Eric: So if you can get something like this into the field and in use, [1735.89] Eric: long before police even get an idea of what's up and down. [1740.93] Eric: Or the phone. [1741.97] Jack: They'd have to warrant a MAC address as well, wouldn't they? [1745.73] Eric: For search and rescue, it's a little funny. [1747.73] Eric: You could probably do it easier. [1748.77] Eric: But this seems to work pretty good. [1750.69] Eric: With this big, yaggy antenna, I can see a phone pretty far away [1756.37] Eric: as I found out. [1757.33] Eric: In fact, you see way too many. [1758.77] Eric: So I have to go to very remote places to test it. [1761.17] Curry: Well, I suppose the first four bytes of a MAC address [1765.65] Curry: is the manufacturer and the model, isn't it? [1768.21] Curry: So you can probably work out, this is an iPhone [1770.69] Curry: or this is a type of Android phone and something like that [1772.93] Curry: and pin it down that way. [1774.69] Eric: Yeah, you could do it. [1776.21] Eric: But when you're doing search and rescue, [1777.89] Eric: it's generally nobody else around. [1779.41] Eric: So it's not going to be a problem. [1781.57] Curry: Is it 100 people down a cliff face or something? [1783.97] Curry: It's like, that's strange. [1786.77] Curry: One fallen person. [1789.17] Eric: It's just one of the silly projects. [1790.61] Eric: That's not a final project. [1791.73] Eric: It was just an idea and I just whipped it together [1793.81] Eric: and it's working. [1795.01] Jack: How about the denial of service plane? [1798.29] Jack: Stick a pineapple on there. [1803.01] Eric: Just flying it around. [1805.01] Eric: We have enough bad publicity in our hobby. [1807.65] Eric: It's not even a couch. [1809.89] Jack: We'll leave that for DEFCON. [1811.17] Jack: Oh, well, DEFCON was last week, weren't it? [1813.65] Jack: Oh, this week, I think. [1817.09] Curry: If you sold it to the military, Eric, [1818.61] Curry: just say I can hunt somebody down on their phone [1821.25] Curry: and shoot them remotely. [1822.69] Curry: Just attach a gun. [1824.61] Curry: I'm trying to make publicity, yeah. [1827.89] Eric: Demonetized. [1829.73] Jack: Yeah, you've listened to this podcast, right? [1832.77] Jack: Yes. [1833.97] Jack: If it weren't for the donations, [1835.49] Jack: Frank would have strangled me a long time ago. [1839.73] Tony: How long has Frank been wearing glasses? [1844.93] AndyRC: Well, he's always worn glasses. [1847.65] Tony: Is he? [1848.13] Tony: Yeah. [1848.69] Tony: I've just noticed them. [1850.21] AndyRC: I've only ever seen him wear glasses in person. [1854.21] Tony: I've never seen him wear glasses. [1855.97] Tony: I've just seen... [1856.61] Jack: You've been in the car with him whilst wearing glasses. [1861.33] Jack: Was I drunk? [1862.85] Jack: No, because you drive as well. [1864.85] AndyRC: When Tony's in the car, [1866.29] AndyRC: his full concentration is on Jack [1868.77] AndyRC: putting things on his head for the entire show. [1871.25] AndyRC: Yeah, like little cars. [1873.01] AndyRC: Maybe I'm short, though, [1874.45] Tony: because I couldn't see that he had glasses on. [1877.01] AndyRC: I want to ask Eric, what are you drinking? [1878.61] AndyRC: It looks like you've got a little bit of beer there. [1881.41] AndyRC: Beer? [1882.37] AndyRC: Just a diet beer. [1884.37] AndyRC: Thank you, Jerry. [1885.65] SPEAKER_02: Thank you, Jerry Squire. [1886.37] AndyRC: It's a really good idea, right? [1888.13] AndyRC: Yeah, we should explain to Eric when we get a donation, [1892.45] AndyRC: or safe drone users set things on fire. [1896.13] AndyRC: I'm familiar. [1897.49] AndyRC: Oh, you're familiar with Eric. [1899.25] Eric: Yeah, I've worked here for quite a bit. [1902.05] Eric: You guys actually had me on one other time, [1904.13] Eric: caught me lurking, and dragged me in. [1906.45] Eric: We did. [1906.93] Eric: Do I remember that? [1908.21] Eric: I was shocked by you watching this ****. [1909.73] Eric: We didn't, did we? [1910.93] Jack: I was like, bloody hell. [1913.09] Eric: You guys had quality entertainment. [1914.85] Eric: Come on, who lights things on fire in small rooms [1917.57] Jack: when people give them the money? [1921.41] Jack: Well, we aim to play. [1923.17] Jack: It was my ploy to try and kill Tony. [1925.25] Jack: I burned his thumb badly. [1927.73] Tony: He did burn my thumb, but it grew back. [1930.29] AndyRC: It's funny, that. [1931.97] AndyRC: Also, who calls something a drone show, [1934.53] AndyRC: and then about three minutes of the content is about drones. [1938.13] Tony: And the rest is lawnmowers and beer. [1941.09] Curry: Well, we do try. [1942.69] Curry: I felt when N.J. was here, [1944.85] Curry: he was quite good at steering a conversation [1946.69] Curry: occasionally back to drones. [1948.05] Curry: Yeah, he always does. [1949.65] Eric: He's done with us. [1950.61] Eric: He finally got a low-pro backpack. [1954.93] Eric: It showed up five minutes ago. [1957.33] Jack: Careful saying that brand, [1959.41] Jack: because Andy R.C. comes out in hives [1962.85] Jack: when he says the word super-view. [1966.45] AndyRC: What's wrong with the low-pro? [1970.69] AndyRC: The first letter's different. [1972.45] Jack: Wow, you know. [1973.65] AndyRC: So, just to, you know, go further with that. [1978.29] AndyRC: So, you've got an FPV backpack. [1980.21] AndyRC: Do you quite often go flying with bodies and stuff, [1983.65] AndyRC: like recreationally? [1985.25] Eric: Yeah, just the local model club, [1986.93] Eric: and there's not much for FPV pliers. [1989.81] Eric: I've been rocking this old laptop backpack for too long, [1993.01] Eric: so it's just a pain in the butt. [1994.69] Eric: So, I figured I'd become a cool drone guy [1997.33] Eric: and get a real one. [1997.81] Eric: Yeah, you're not cool until you've got my stuff. [2000.37] Tony: Talking of backpacks, [2002.21] Tony: I'm doing a live Friday night show [2004.61] Tony: on how I pack my backpack. [2007.41] Curry: Are you keeping Danny hostage again during this show? [2010.05] Tony: He will be here. [2011.25] Tony: He is free to leave whenever he wants. [2013.89] Tony: Are you going to be locked up in another place? [2015.49] SPEAKER_02: Yeah, exactly. [2016.21] SPEAKER_02: As long as the bag is packed. [2017.25] AndyRC: He's down there under the stairs. [2019.33] AndyRC: Are you going to be showing the condom bag [2021.49] AndyRC: that you put in, too? [2022.61] AndyRC: The condoms, the lube. [2024.45] AndyRC: I tried to get that on camera, [2030.85] AndyRC: but it was standard definition, [2033.09] AndyRC: so it didn't kick it up. [2034.45] SPEAKER_02: Far more exciting news. [2035.81] SPEAKER_02: New doggo. [2037.57] Tony: Yes, it's your dog. [2039.41] Tony: She's asleep over there. [2040.77] Tony: I ran her six miles today. [2042.93] Tony: I don't know if you'll be able to see her. [2044.13] Tony: She's still growing. [2045.81] Jack: What's wrong with you? [2047.33] Tony: Can you see her? [2048.05] AndyRC: Just there. [2050.29] AndyRC: What's the story then? [2052.13] AndyRC: How did you end up with a new pup? [2054.93] AndyRC: She's coming, hold on. [2056.13] Tony: There she is. [2061.09] Tony: I'm struggling like she's heavy, [2062.85] Tony: but she's like a lightweight. [2064.93] Tony: Look at her. [2066.05] Curry: It's just because you're old. [2068.53] Tony: Look at that little thing. [2069.97] Tony: What's the story then? [2071.01] Jack: He's got a puppy to make Junior last longer. [2075.49] Tony: She's not a puppy. [2076.45] Tony: She's actually two in Christmas. [2080.21] Tony: Is she a rescue then? [2082.21] Tony: Well, she needed a home. [2084.45] Tony: One of my customers split up with her husband [2088.05] Tony: and she couldn't take him to a rent accommodation. [2090.77] Tony: So I said, I'll take her on. [2092.61] Tony: Well, that counts as rescue in my room. [2094.69] Tony: Yeah, so she's a Jack Russell cross. [2098.53] Tony: I keep saying chinchilla. [2107.41] Tony: She's tiny. [2108.13] Tony: She's light as a Themmar. [2109.49] AndyRC: I bet you can find a video of that somewhere. [2111.97] AndyRC: What a lovely bitch. [2114.93] Tony: She's a lovely little girl. [2117.65] Tony: Well, I've only had her a day. [2121.25] AndyRC: I should get on with Junior though, [2122.85] AndyRC: because Junior doesn't get on with me [2124.53] AndyRC: every time I go for stroking. [2125.97] AndyRC: He bites me under. [2127.25] AndyRC: Well, he's tolerating her. [2130.05] Tony: Let's put it that way. [2131.41] AndyRC: Has he had like a bit of a go? [2133.57] Tony: No, no, he's fine. [2135.49] Jack: You've got your nuggets, has he? [2137.89] Tony: Junior has got no nuggets [2139.33] Tony: and she's fully woman at the moment, [2141.25] Tony: but I'm letting her settle in before I get her chopped, [2145.97] Tony: because I don't want it to be too traumatic for her. [2149.01] Tony: But she just went out on a six mile bike ride. [2153.41] Tony: It was just like a test. [2156.13] Curry: Jesus, the dog can ride a bike? [2157.65] Tony: I'm impressed. [2158.77] Tony: She's brilliant. [2161.01] Tony: She just ran beside me for six miles [2164.13] Tony: and didn't stop and she's tiny. [2166.93] Curry: Will she fit in the ex-class, [2168.53] Curry: I suppose is the name question. [2169.81] Tony: She could fit on the ex-class easily, yes. [2173.89] Tony: She needed a home and I was looking for a dog. [2176.29] Tony: I wanted a staffy. [2180.77] Tony: You don't want a staffy, do you? [2182.37] Tony: I really wanted a staffy and I kept looking. [2183.97] Tony: Why? They're devil dogs. [2187.33] Tony: If you look them up, they're called the nanny dog. [2189.33] Tony: They're really good with kids, really good with everyone. [2191.89] Jack: Pipes on the dog. [2193.17] Tony: It's just that, no, it is. [2195.33] Tony: That's just media. [2197.49] AndyRC: That's not the problem. [2198.53] AndyRC: It's the fact that they can, they're like bodybuilders. [2202.61] AndyRC: They'll knock you over. [2203.89] AndyRC: No, they won't. [2204.69] AndyRC: It's just they're huge. [2206.13] AndyRC: Because I've been knocked over. [2208.13] AndyRC: I couldn't count. [2208.93] Tony: Yeah, probably because it's tails wagging and it's happy. [2213.17] Tony: They're called the nanny dog. [2214.53] Tony: Like, the media has given them a bad name. [2220.05] Tony: Don't listen to the media. [2221.81] Tony: Staffies are called the nanny dog. [2223.33] Tony: They're beautiful, lovely nanny dog. [2225.49] Curry: They can knock you over. [2228.13] AndyRC: Any dog that can knock you over by wagging its tail should not, it is. [2233.09] Tony: Look, they're the beautiful dogs. [2235.33] Tony: They're great. [2235.97] Tony: Anyway, I gave up looking for them and I said to myself, [2239.25] Tony: I'm going to let the universe find me a dog. [2241.97] Tony: And then I found this. [2242.93] Jack: The love of God. [2244.13] Jack: How's the old ultrasonic cleaner doing? [2246.45] Jack: Have you fixed your tools? [2249.65] Tony: Look. [2250.13] Jack: Have you cranked your pipe cutter? [2253.65] Tony: Right, I'm muting myself. [2256.93] Jack: Eric, talk about you as like, you know, the guest and everything. [2261.01] Eric: Where's the mute? [2262.13] Eric: I just watched you guys print exactly this. [2267.81] Tony: If you get, you're actually here and enjoying the arguments. [2272.21] Tony: He doesn't, he doesn't care. [2275.09] Tony: I'm opening up a beer. [2280.21] Eric: Yeah, I have an old English sheet. [2283.33] Eric: He's wonderful. [2284.29] Eric: Oh, no, they're beautiful dogs. [2286.69] Curry: A dog related story. [2288.13] Curry: When I was lying on Tuesday, I was just coming into land. [2291.97] Curry: And then I heard this sort of noise of an approaching animal. [2295.65] Curry: And suddenly, my cord was on the ground as a dog had jumped up, [2299.33] Curry: taken out of the air. [2300.93] Curry: And then he ran off wagging his tail. [2303.09] Curry: He was really happy about it. [2304.37] Curry: I wasn't too happy. [2305.49] Eric: But there was no, my big concerns. [2308.21] Eric: Anytime I'm flying at like where I go down by the river [2312.29] Eric: is people run their dogs down there a lot. [2314.85] Eric: And I'm always scared that a dog's going to jump up [2317.25] Eric: and grab the quad out of the air. [2318.93] Eric: Not because I care about the quad. [2320.69] Eric: I don't want to hurt the dog. [2322.21] Curry: Yeah, that's what I was worried about. [2323.81] Curry: I was, I was relieved to see him jumping around wagging his tail [2327.41] Curry: because he was pleased with himself. [2329.01] Curry: Normally, when I used to fly at the site, [2331.41] Curry: which is a lot less popular because it's a building site, [2334.21] Curry: they're always dog walkers. [2335.57] Curry: And I had a bit of warning. [2337.01] Curry: So what I could do is I take my quad up the other end, [2339.73] Curry: quickly fly back and land and the dog would just sort of run [2341.97] Curry: behind and sort of lose interest because it's landed. [2344.61] Curry: But this thing just came out of nowhere. [2346.69] Curry: It's just like just coming in. [2348.13] Curry: I heard the noise. [2348.85] Curry: I was like, what's that? [2349.97] Curry: I'm about to get taken out. [2351.09] Curry: And it's like, no, jump down. [2354.29] Eric: I'll just point out, Tony does have control of the broadcast [2357.57] Eric: because it's been on his camera the whole time he walked away [2362.05] Eric: on the YouTube stream. [2363.25] Eric: I know. [2363.73] Jack: Yeah, just no. [2365.33] AndyRC: Just out of spite. [2367.17] AndyRC: Why is it doing that? [2368.21] AndyRC: Have we all got that control? [2369.73] AndyRC: Because if I do that, it's just the thing. [2371.89] Jack: Talking about it. [2373.49] Jack: What satellite? [2375.01] Jack: Your satellite, Eric. [2376.29] Jack: Tell us about that, man. [2378.69] Eric: The satellite. [2379.65] Jack: Yeah, are you going to do any more of that stuff? [2383.01] Eric: Now, after the DIY space mission thing, [2388.05] Eric: I want to do another high altitude balloon launch one of these days. [2391.65] Eric: But I've got all the equipment set up. [2393.49] Eric: I just need to actually do it. [2396.21] Eric: And maybe actually hit the target altitude this time. [2399.73] Eric: Last time we only hit about, [2401.09] Eric: I think it was right around 70,000 feet. [2403.57] Jack: Didn't you lose some helium or something? [2407.01] Eric: Yeah, it was actually multiple causes. [2409.73] Eric: It took me about two months to figure out where I went wrong. [2413.17] Eric: Yeah, I screwed up anyway. [2414.45] Eric: It was my fault. [2416.77] AndyRC: I've upset Mundo FPV about staffy dogs. [2419.57] AndyRC: Can I just confirm? [2421.25] AndyRC: I love all dogs. [2422.53] AndyRC: It's just that I'm a weakling. [2424.05] AndyRC: And any dog that can pin me down, [2427.73] AndyRC: I have no problem with staffy dogs. [2433.01] AndyRC: It's just that when I got a funny few stories the way out, [2437.81] AndyRC: I had a staffy dog and was flying around. [2443.73] AndyRC: And I was with my buddy. [2445.09] AndyRC: And I said, dog land straight away. [2447.89] AndyRC: And it lands locally disarmed. [2449.81] AndyRC: This staffy went straight for that. [2452.21] AndyRC: It was running a session five. [2454.61] AndyRC: Of course, they're just blocks. [2456.61] AndyRC: So perfect for a dog to just grab hold of. [2460.37] AndyRC: And this dog ran around the field with its owner. [2464.29] AndyRC: Their owner couldn't stop it. [2466.37] AndyRC: For 20 minutes, we were trying to get this quad back off this dog [2472.05] AndyRC: that was just like, oh, this is a toy. [2474.61] AndyRC: This is a kind of thing. [2476.85] AndyRC: Nothing against staffies. [2478.77] AndyRC: Just that they can knock me over while I'm flying. [2482.13] AndyRC: That's it. [2483.25] Curry: I'm going to add staffies to the Andy RC enemy list. [2487.97] Curry: They're growing. [2488.53] Jack: I will hang on this over here. [2491.25] Jack: It's over here. [2497.73] AndyRC: Do you want number seven or do you want it higher? [2503.57] AndyRC: Put it the lowest. [2504.61] AndyRC: Because I love it. [2505.33] AndyRC: That is seven. [2506.21] Jack: Okay. [2506.77] Jack: There's seven things I want to talk about so far. [2508.85] AndyRC: I don't think it's it. [2513.33] AndyRC: Is it the staffy where the when they're a pup, [2516.93] AndyRC: that the fuck their heads or is it their skull breaks apart? [2521.65] AndyRC: Is that the staffy? [2522.93] AndyRC: Have I got that wrong? [2524.61] AndyRC: You think that's alien? [2526.61] AndyRC: Nah, there's definitely a breed that does that. [2530.45] AndyRC: Maybe someone in that area would be a bit. [2533.65] Jack: Is your pie media lab still running? [2537.41] Jack: Is it still running? [2539.65] Jack: Your multimedia lab? [2541.97] Jack: Media center? [2543.25] Jack: Is that what you called it? [2544.21] Jack: Hang on. [2544.85] Eric: Yeah, I've got a couple. [2545.73] Eric: I've got Raspberry Pis all over the place. [2547.33] Eric: Yeah, so the smart TV. [2549.49] Eric: Yeah, one smart TV and putting another one in the garage [2552.77] Eric: right now as soon as I fix the free plasma TV. [2555.57] Eric: And then another one runs in my studio where I have my 3D printers as just [2560.77] Eric: it runs YouTube videos and a weather app, [2563.33] Eric: but it also runs a pie hole, which is a DNS server for my house. [2568.61] Eric: So no ads can come through on any of my devices in my house [2572.69] Eric: because the DNS is resolved by that Raspberry Pi. [2576.61] Eric: And it blacklets all the stupid ad sites, which is great. [2580.29] Jack: Oh, man. [2580.93] Eric: Teach me. [2582.69] Eric: It's easy. [2583.57] Eric: I haven't done a video. [2584.61] Eric: Just search for pie hole. [2586.61] Eric: It's kind of scary sound and do it on YouTube. [2590.53] Curry: And you should try and teach that. [2593.49] Curry: We tried to go over very basic Linux commands for about three weeks. [2596.93] Curry: I know. [2597.41] Jack: Tilda pipes. [2600.29] Jack: Greg man for the list. [2603.89] Jack: Shell SSH. [2606.13] Jack: Is it SSH? [2609.01] Jack: I've seen in the background. [2609.89] SPEAKER_02: I think you've had a stroke. [2610.85] Jack: No, I know. [2612.13] Jack: I know things. [2613.65] Jack: Have you seen? [2615.33] Jack: Is it the Canadian guy with the wooden gears? [2618.77] Jack: He's doing a lot of pie stuff for the shooting of the lid things. [2623.73] Jack: You have had a straight. [2624.77] Jack: No, I haven't. [2625.73] Jack: Let me let me look it up. [2626.93] Jack: Hang on. [2627.73] Jack: Have you seen him? [2628.61] Jack: I love him. [2631.01] Eric: I know that Canadian YouTubers are. [2633.73] Eric: I've been down to see the the Hacksmith. [2636.13] Eric: I talked to him quite frequently. [2638.53] Eric: I've been down to the stuff. [2639.41] Jack: Wandle. [2640.53] Jack: Is that his name? [2641.49] Jack: Matthias. [2642.77] Jack: Matthias. [2643.89] Jack: What have I been up to lately? [2646.37] Jack: That guy. [2647.73] Jack: Check him out. [2648.69] Jack: He's from Kanata Stan as well. [2650.53] Eric: I think so. [2652.21] Eric: The pie hole. [2653.09] Eric: You don't need any specific knowledge of Linux or anything to set it up. [2658.13] Eric: It's super easy and it's the best use for a $30 computer ever. [2661.65] Eric: No more ads on any device in your house ever. [2665.49] Eric: It just works and it doesn't stop anything. [2668.69] Eric: It just stops any site from serving you any ads. [2672.21] Eric: It's great. [2673.81] Eric: Best ad locker ever. [2675.25] SPEAKER_02: Mr Fruity Cakes does say saying pie hole in Brighton means a totally different thing. [2679.65] SPEAKER_02: And that is exactly why we're taking every opportunity to say pie hole. [2684.45] Eric: That's like street meat here means hot dogs and sausages from a street vendor. [2690.13] Eric: And in the US it means an entirely different thing. [2693.01] SPEAKER_02: Tony wants to say something but he's muted. [2695.49] SPEAKER_02: Unmute yourself. [2697.49] SPEAKER_02: You have to unmute yourself. [2698.69] SPEAKER_02: It's down at the bottom next to the leave call. [2701.57] AndyRC: Do sign language, Tom. [2703.41] AndyRC: Do it and see if we can guess what it was. [2705.33] SPEAKER_02: Tony, it's about... [2708.61] AndyRC: Hi. [2709.97] SPEAKER_02: Hi. [2711.09] SPEAKER_02: Or maybe there. [2713.25] AndyRC: I'm gay. [2715.65] SPEAKER_02: Tony is gay. [2717.57] SPEAKER_02: You heard it here first, people. [2718.69] SPEAKER_02: I knew that. [2720.37] SPEAKER_02: Hi. [2721.49] AndyRC: Let's just say hi. [2723.65] AndyRC: I don't know. [2725.01] AndyRC: Don't know. [2727.17] AndyRC: I don't know. [2727.89] Jack: The whole world is flat. [2730.37] Jack: Eric, you've launched a satellite. [2733.57] Jack: Is the world flat? [2736.45] Curry: Or is Tony a... [2739.33] Curry: You can't talk about flat Earth anymore on YouTube. [2741.33] AndyRC: Have you really launched a satellite? [2743.81] Eric: No. [2745.65] Eric: I made some CubeSat proof of concept stuff but that's as far as it goes. [2749.57] Jack: Unmute yourself, you idiot. [2752.61] Jack: Oh my god. [2753.65] Jack: It's like working with... [2755.73] AndyRC: Can I do it? [2756.69] AndyRC: Because I'm host. [2758.37] Curry: Eric, a question for you. [2759.89] Curry: How are you managing to manage your time so well? [2763.25] Curry: That you can put out a bunch of YouTube videos on all sorts of subjects [2767.73] Curry: and you're getting time to sit down and either write some code or put things together. [2773.25] Curry: Because when I try and mix up my time, [2775.97] Curry: especially if there's a project I have to write stuff for, [2778.29] Curry: it's like unless I concentrate all my time on it, [2781.09] Curry: I just flip between stuff and I'm terrible. [2783.49] Curry: What is your time management secret? [2785.65] Eric: I flip between stuff like a crazy person. [2788.85] Eric: I don't see much. [2790.53] Eric: I don't ever finish anything completely to like a polished finish. [2795.89] Eric: It's always as soon as I get something halfway to where it needs to be [2799.89] Eric: and it's semi-functional. [2801.09] Eric: Moving on. [2802.53] Curry: Oh, good man. [2803.57] Curry: That released me a lot. [2804.69] AndyRC: He also doesn't spend two nights a week on Twitch playing games, I imagine, with Jack. [2811.81] AndyRC: That's my happy place. [2814.13] AndyRC: And it's just the same, you know, time management. [2817.49] Eric: Invite last night, I'm sorry. [2819.17] Eric: And it was for exactly those reasons I had stuff to do. [2822.77] AndyRC: Did they really invite you? [2825.01] AndyRC: Oh, they didn't invite me. [2826.85] Jack: No, you can't. [2827.89] Jack: After the knock, you can't. [2831.17] Jack: That's true. [2832.61] Jack: That's true. [2835.09] Jack: I asked Frank and he wouldn't do the French voice. [2839.41] AndyRC: By the way, you do a really good French voice. [2843.17] AndyRC: Yeah, you can come off racist if you do an accent wrong, that's all. [2847.65] SPEAKER_02: Down here, Tony. [2849.97] SPEAKER_02: Where is it? [2851.33] SPEAKER_02: The about there. [2852.37] SPEAKER_02: Is the button about there? [2853.89] SPEAKER_02: No, here you go. [2855.65] SPEAKER_02: No, do it, do it. [2856.77] SPEAKER_02: Click that one. [2857.89] SPEAKER_02: That'll do unmute. [2859.33] SPEAKER_02: That's what you need to do, Tony. [2860.29] Jack: No, it's at the bottom, isn't it? [2861.81] SPEAKER_02: If you move mouse. [2863.01] SPEAKER_02: Exactly. [2863.57] SPEAKER_02: The bottom, down there. [2864.37] Curry: It's the same button to unmute yourself as it is to mute yourself. [2867.97] SPEAKER_02: It's just as to get it in. [2871.01] SPEAKER_02: That's because I muted him because he was [2874.05] SPEAKER_02: shouting at his dogs in the kitchen. [2877.41] SPEAKER_02: So you can mute him but you can't unmute him. [2879.41] SPEAKER_02: No, only he can unmute himself. [2881.81] SPEAKER_02: Move your mouse. [2883.41] Curry: I think he's just sulking now. [2885.01] SPEAKER_02: I think so too. [2885.97] Jack: Anyway, I thought your mistress was Danny now [2889.89] Jack: and you were going to do a quad surgery where you try and fix quads, get it wrong, [2894.77] Jack: then phone and annoy me and then when I do tell you how to fix them, [2899.73] Jack: then Joker goes, he doesn't know what he's on about [2903.49] Jack: and then you come round my house with a present [2906.61] Jack: and then I sit there and explain it with like [2909.97] Jack: sock puppets and a whiteboard. [2912.53] Curry: I can't pause the livestream. [2914.93] Jack: Hello, Sophie. [2915.97] Jack: We're all going to die down here and then I have to draw diagrams [2920.37] Jack: and then you go back, do what I say and then it works. [2923.49] Curry: I'm just going to turn my camera off so Sophie can show me her hair. [2927.73] Jack: How was her diving? [2928.85] Jack: How was her diving? [2930.37] AndyRC: Just mute it, that's all. [2931.73] AndyRC: You don't need to turn the camera off or whatever. [2935.17] AndyRC: He's done better, that's all. [2936.53] Tony: Andy, there's definitely Volker in there. [2940.21] AndyRC: I wish there was. [2941.01] AndyRC: I thought he was whiskey. [2943.01] AndyRC: I'm trying to, I'm trying to, I'm trying to put it out. [2947.41] AndyRC: I think it's the alarm. [2948.13] Tony: Jack, if you put that sock puppet you've got in your house on your end, [2952.45] Eric: it probably wouldn't come off. [2960.56] Eric: Quick shout out to the chat. [2963.12] Eric: Hey, MCCreations. [2965.36] Eric: Thanks for, that's one guy I got from this show last time I was on it. [2969.52] Eric: I think that's how he found my channel and always pleasant comments. [2974.24] Eric: Every video, every live show I'm on, Joshua Bardwell here anywhere. [2978.0] Eric: He's always got nice things to say. [2980.0] Eric: Always say hi to everyone. [2981.12] Eric: Why don't you just say hi to everyone? [2982.8] Tony: MCCreations is the dawn of YouTube comments. [2987.36] SPEAKER_02: I think MCCreations must be hated by YouTube. [2989.36] AndyRC: He is just a little commenter. [2990.56] AndyRC: He always comments on stuff. [2993.68] AndyRC: Pretty much every guest that comes on and sees MCCreations in the chat [2998.4] AndyRC: says exactly the same thing and they're not wrong. [3002.08] Jack: All I write is I've watched this. [3006.16] SPEAKER_02: Thank you MCCreations for supporting everyone. [3010.56] Curry: Absolutely. [3011.84] Curry: As far as I can tell, it's like some of us are full-time YouTubers. [3015.12] Curry: MC is a full-time YouTube commenter because he must be. [3018.4] Curry: The amount of stuff he does. [3020.16] Jack: I've watched random things and I looked down at the comments. [3023.52] Jack: I'm like, what are you doing here? [3028.08] Jack: I'm looking at things that you shouldn't be looking at. [3033.68] Jack: What the Nazi surgeon doctors got to and the inner earth things and he's there. [3042.96] Jack: And I'm like, why are you watching this? [3044.8] Curry: Well done preventing Nazis. [3046.56] Curry: That's another. [3048.08] Jack: You know, I don't like... [3050.96] Jack: Well, I wanted to learn how sausage dogs were made. [3056.64] Eric: YouTube is a lot smaller place than what you'd think. [3059.6] Eric: When you start looking in comments, you start seeing all the same people. [3063.92] Eric: That's quite funny. [3065.6] AndyRC: How were sausage dogs made? [3067.6] AndyRC: Jack, just while we're on the subject, can you put Nazis as number six? [3072.8] Jack: Okay, no worries. [3074.32] Tony: Right. [3075.12] Tony: I'm going to give you a stat readout. [3077.36] Tony: Tungster has spoken for 13 minutes. [3080.32] Tony: Curry kitten for 10. [3081.84] Tony: Brighten to the five. [3083.28] Tony: Three seconds. [3084.96] Tony: Andy R.C. 20. [3087.84] Tony: Eric 16. [3090.08] Tony: And brighten to the fly again, 12. [3093.92] Jack: You've got to cut that one in half because it's me and Frank. [3097.84] Tony: Okay, well, Andy R.C. has spoken the most with 20 minutes, 15 seconds. [3103.44] Tony: Let's have a round of applause for Andy R.C. [3107.28] AndyRC: Well, I thought you were telling me to shut up. [3110.08] Jack: On days where I don't feel like doing the show, [3113.2] Jack: Andy R.C. carries the load. [3115.36] Jack: He really does. [3116.96] AndyRC: Why don't you feel like doing the show, Jack? [3119.28] Jack: Because I've got chronic depression and a really bad butthole. [3127.84] Jack: And sometimes, you know, I have to run to the toilet. [3130.4] Jack: I know that when I come back, there wasn't a moment silence [3134.08] Jack: because Andy R.C. is talking about what kind of dogs he likes or doesn't like. [3140.64] Jack: What about Sausage Dogs? [3141.92] Tony: So they sit in a staffy community. [3145.68] Curry: I like that a single comment about dogs has made more enemies with staffy owners. [3154.0] SPEAKER_02: I think it's about time in the stream that we sign off [3158.64] SPEAKER_02: because we've got about five timers going. [3161.04] SPEAKER_02: So I don't know how long the stream has actually been going on for. [3164.0] SPEAKER_02: But I think... [3164.72] Curry: Did we mention the competition? [3166.4] Curry: I don't want to fire a fish now, isn't it? [3169.12] SPEAKER_02: Yes, the competition is closed. [3171.36] SPEAKER_02: So the competition is being judged this very evening. [3176.48] SPEAKER_02: After this. [3177.68] SPEAKER_02: And the winner of the competition of the Drone is Life giveaway [3184.64] SPEAKER_02: will be announced next week. [3187.36] SPEAKER_02: So the next episode. [3189.28] SPEAKER_02: So don't send us any more timestamps. [3191.28] SPEAKER_02: You're too late. [3192.72] SPEAKER_02: Thank you. [3193.2] Curry: That'll earn you. [3196.72] Tony: I need to get some new headphones. [3199.52] Tony: Look at these things falling apart. [3201.68] Jack: You look like a nerd at school who'd take their glasses in the middle. [3205.92] Tony: Taped on. [3207.28] Tony: MC's got some taped on there. [3209.28] Tony: Just pop a bit of Velcro on. [3211.36] Jack: MK, not MC. [3214.88] Tony: MK, sorry. [3216.88] Tony: Because we're all talking about MC creations. [3219.28] Tony: Eric. [3220.56] Tony: Eric. [3221.52] Tony: Eric's taped on. [3222.64] Eric: Nothing a little super glue and some tape won't fix. [3225.04] Eric: Frank, grip's too big up here. [3226.8] Eric: I keep snapping the stupid things. [3229.12] Tony: These are just crap. [3231.12] Tony: I'm going to buy some new ones for next... [3233.28] Tony: For our birthday, which is next week, isn't it? [3236.08] Tony: Correct. [3237.12] Jack: Yep, and Andy RC's birthday as well. [3240.4] Jack: Whose birthday is it next week? [3242.0] Jack: Yours. [3242.56] Jack: LDO's and yours? [3245.2] Jack: Andy RC's birthday, is that right? [3247.52] Tony: We're going to be four years of talking completely to other ******* people on YouTube. [3252.24] Jack: Yeah, why do you listen to this show? [3255.04] Jack: Make me laugh. [3255.76] Jack: Because you've got a proper job. [3257.76] Jack: You're good on YouTube. [3259.12] Jack: Everyone likes you. [3260.8] Jack: I mean... [3261.04] Tony: Is he normal? [3262.32] Jack: Yeah, man. [3263.12] Jack: Is it him normal? [3265.92] Jack: Yeah, look at him. [3266.96] Jack: He's like Canadian at night. [3268.8] Jack: I mean, he's trying to make planes to save and find people. [3273.52] Jack: I mean, what is this? [3274.4] Jack: I'm some sort of torture. [3275.92] Jack: I've been really good this week. [3277.44] Jack: I'm going to listen to LDO and vomit in my mouth. [3281.76] AndyRC: That's just like his guilty pleasure. [3283.68] AndyRC: He spends all week being like this super nice guy. [3287.68] AndyRC: And then he's like, right, let's watch some film for an hour a week. [3293.36] Eric: I actually said, you guys called me out on this before. [3298.72] Eric: I was subscribed to Curry and Andy for a long time. [3302.72] Eric: And one of you shared the link to this thing. [3305.12] Eric: And I was hooked right away. [3308.0] Eric: He's literally higher beating each other up verbally. [3313.28] Tony: Welcome. [3317.28] Tony: Mr. Creek says, oh, Frank's got a fancy new hairdo. [3321.76] Tony: Yes, he has. [3322.8] Tony: He's had his hair chopped. [3325.04] Tony: And Andy's wearing an LDO top. [3329.04] Tony: An LDO t-shirt. [3330.48] Tony: That is no one can buy them one. [3332.88] Tony: No, I'm not. [3334.48] SPEAKER_02: Super limited edition. [3336.4] Tony: Not you, Frank. [3339.36] SPEAKER_02: This here one. [3341.36] AndyRC: This is super, super. [3345.12] AndyRC: Isn't any LDO merch limited edition? [3352.0] SPEAKER_02: Limited edition supplies. [3355.28] Tony: We've actually been asked by a few people. [3361.44] Tony: We're going to do hoodies. [3362.56] Tony: I think we're going to do some more. [3364.72] Tony: Another hoodie run, I think. [3366.72] Tony: My hoodie's my favorite. [3368.4] Tony: I wear it all the time wearing it yesterday. [3370.8] Tony: We're going to do another one. [3372.0] Tony: But we're going to do one with all our logos on the back. [3376.4] Jack: No, because that will be a printing nightmare. [3379.36] Tony: We're doing it, Jack. [3380.32] Tony: Whether you like it or not. [3382.0] AndyRC: I'd love one of my style hats with an LDO logo on it. [3390.8] AndyRC: But it's kind of like a bit niche. [3393.12] Jack: I might. [3393.84] Jack: I'm going to do a run of the drone user, clueless, careless, criminal. [3399.44] Jack: That sounds like a good plan. [3400.96] Jack: And I might make some dog shit dive ones as well.
