[193.14] Andy: I've got some. Yeah I had it last week. I wasn't on last week. That's because I joined
[202.34] Andy: proper flying club. So I'm hoping that I'm going to be able to do

[213.06] Andy: proper runway and not just have to wait for the weather to play ball but yeah and there's like
[219.94] Andy: loads of space so you know not restricted to you know a tight space so lie a little bit further

[237.3] Andy: and then kind of drone related on the Friday. I went to visit NJ and watch him and Kim Wilde
[249.06] Andy: and we hung out at the hotel and he was showing me about his guitar kit frame and
[257.7] Andy: and I gave him the HD camera because he wants to see if they can make HD version of that work.
[265.54] Andy: Other than that, Christmas month, death threat on Christmas day the usual.
[274.34] Curry: A death threat what from the family or just random people on YouTube?
[279.54] Andy: Just the internet and that you know so yeah but not done. I've sort of like yeah decided to
[289.54] Andy: really take the week off. Oh no no I flew the Tiny Hawk V2 actually. I did a review of that
[298.9] Andy: pretty cool. Yeah that leads in nicely to Frank are we talking about January the 2nd on the show?
[306.58] Frank: Yes so next week will be even more of a Pallara because we'll be on location but at least we'll
[315.38] Frank: only have one setup to do because we'll all be in the same place but it means there's no redundancy.
[320.26] Frank: If we can't get that set up then it's not going to work. No we just stream directly via Google

[337.3] Frank: Yeah so we are going to be in the secret location near Bletchley Park
[343.38] Frank: on the 2nd of January from 4 30 p.m onwards and then we'll be streaming
[354.26] Frank: hopefully a bit closer to 8 p.m this week and we'll also be. I didn't like it with the 3rd day.
[363.86] Andy: What so we've got to be at what time we've got to be there Frank?
[366.9] Frank: Well so we're writing a burnout so long before 30 p.m and yeah so we've got the first floor of
[380.02] Frank: an industrial unit to go flying around with tiny whoops and anything kind of sub 100mm preferably
[390.42] Frank: 1s probably you want to limit it to or you're bringing your vapor I think. I was going to ask
[397.22] Andy: actually I wondered whether the 3-inch DJI thing would if there's enough space for that but
[406.18] Andy: probably not but if there's enough room for the vapor then there's enough room for that.
[410.9] Andy: What's the lighting light there is it is it going to be dark or is it quite fairly decent
[417.7] Frank: fairly well lit it's a workspace for doing fine electronics and stuff so I imagine it's
[423.62] Andy: it's reasonably well lit yeah bring that along somebody just mentioned actually I just saw in the
[430.9] Andy: that uh people marshall uh mobula 6 arrived as well that's why it's nice I had my order cancelled
[439.62] Andy: for the mobula six have you got one of those waiting I've got a dispatch notice for it so
[445.3] Andy: it should be on its way but I haven't got it yet they cancelled mine and then I said why have you
[449.38] Curry: cancelled it and then they have a reply uh well if it helps I didn't get the tiny hawk too
[455.7] Curry: but they did know I was away on holiday maybe that's that maybe that's why I can hope I get
[460.58] Curry: one package for me max and I say we don't like we don't like what you did you can go screw yourself

[513.7] Andy: just to kind of show people what it's doing yeah we can do that and look I can uh I wonder if it's
[520.5] Andy: worth uh setting up like a buddy system people have a go at it and stuff

[535.12] Andy: yeah mode one don't touch him people it's pretty simple to set up a um a trainer thing there me
[544.32] Andy: and Fraser did it like it's a bando but in the space of like 15 minutes or so

[557.44] Andy: they have released a new faceplate for that actually and that's not turned off either so
[561.68] Andy: I'm not doing very well I'm not really in sort of youtuber thrown mode at the moment
[570.88] Frank: yeah to answer your question we've got 13 people who have said that they're coming um next next
[577.36] Frank: week um on January the 2nd and uh seeing as I was expecting about 10 probably about 10 or so
[586.72] Andy: enough I reckon so basically we don't even need to do the show live because all other people who

[644.24] Frank: the tiny whoops um and that's that's about as organized as it's going to get and that's
[650.88] Andy: might be pushing it anyway we'll see yeah it's just basically us hanging out doing a casual show
[658.56] Andy: so you know have your expectations very low and expect to sit and wait around a lot
[666.16] Curry: I'm sure anybody that's watched the show will have very low expectations already but because
[672.0] Curry: I can't make it on January 2nd because I've got family stuff but I hope when you say we're going
[677.12] Curry: to do the show now you're just going to sit there for 15 minutes and just keep everyone waiting

[737.92] Andy: confirmed on Friday that he's uh history to make that and another mess say yeah see almost nothing

[754.16] Frank: last week but he's busy as well I'm afraid yeah lots of people visit his family that for us isn't

[773.84] Curry: stocking from Santa the closest thing I got was what Frank made me that was absolutely amazing
[779.76] Curry: I watched that and I was very jealous that I wasn't getting some amazingly customized
[784.88] Curry: carry kitten logo with goggles and a radio somehow burned into it that that was really
[791.2] Curry: good Frank it's like you almost should be a designer for a living at this rate almost like
[795.6] SPEAKER_01: I should do it for a living yeah yeah do you want to are you are you in safe territory where you can
[804.08] SPEAKER_01: show us what you got and we're very angry about or should we not go there that's that's that's
[809.92] Frank: downstairs I'm afraid I'm gonna go get that can you can you briefly talk about it but what's it
[816.16] Frank: yeah I mean the the idea of it is amazing execution execution and I was worried I was
[827.92] Frank: just being too much of a 3d printing snob um because a bit of it is well a lot of it is
[836.4] SPEAKER_01: until he found out the price of it as he choked his parents one minute on he was like how much
[843.36] SPEAKER_01: do you pay for this then they told him and then he pissed on it and then set it on fire and then was
[850.4] SPEAKER_01: annoyed he didn't do it the other way around none of this is true just make that clear about it
[858.32] Curry: several hours but yeah you haven't told us what it was you just told us how you abused
[862.32] Frank: it and got angry about it so what what it is is um a an adapter for the uh the controllers for the
[871.76] Frank: august quest um to make it into a yeah to make it into a hotel system which is hands-on throttle
[879.28] Frank: and stick so you got your joystick like uh and your throttle like on a like in an aircraft
[885.04] Frank: brilliant idea very well done great um but it's like a lot of it is 3d printed and in particular
[892.16] Frank: the bit that kind of flexes to allow you to move it like a joystick is is 3d printed like in the
[898.4] Frank: tpu or something like that and and it's it's just it's it's not very well printed it's
[907.12] Frank: it's just terrible they've obviously realized that it's not very good and and tried to like
[911.92] Frank: use like a lighter and a hot life or a scalpel or something to try and like smush it back together
[920.24] SPEAKER_01: yeah don't make him any more angry i had two hours of this
[932.72] Andy: i just saw a picture and i thought i thought that uh yeah there was no context uh but yeah i think
[940.08] Frank: yeah i was just like like physically repulsed by it i was like oh that that's horrible but so if
[948.08] SPEAKER_01: you imagine for anyone who doesn't care about 3d printing imagine someone got you a dog shit

[964.8] Frank: where did they get it from then so it's the internet but you know it's like and then i
[972.24] Frank: found out how much it was like okay this you've got to do something about this because there's
[977.28] Frank: no way someone should be profiting that much off of that monstrosity have you contacted um
[986.32] Frank: trading standards watch dog no i mean it's it doesn't say on it anywhere that it's going to be
[995.68] Frank: you know injection molders or anything so it's it's just like i don't want my parents to be
[1002.16] Frank: ripped off that much by somebody who obviously doesn't know what they're doing
[1008.48] Andy: i can't i thought i was looking at um because i even though i've got a 3d print so i'm useless
[1013.76] Andy: with it i was looking at that right around christmas time having some 3d print done like
[1022.0] Andy: through uh 3d hubs and the prices were absolutely ridiculous it was like i think just perhaps
[1029.12] Andy: because of the the lack of people that are just maybe have shut down for christmas or whatever
[1034.96] Andy: but it was like i just needed this little um like this little clip for something and it was like
[1042.16] Andy: 49 quid you know not included and it was it's like based in the uk as well like and that was
[1051.6] Andy: like pla which is uh prototype and then yeah so probably use this that service to get it done
[1061.98] Curry: maybe weird there's an interesting question in the chat here which is why is frank's camera
[1069.62] Curry: behind his laptop and not on top of the monitor which i was just replying to that uh but it's
[1075.86] Frank: because this laptop's camera is crap and i'm not in the usual place and that's where there's
[1082.9] Frank: somewhere i can plonk my camera that is currently doing the webcam he looks frank looks like he's
[1089.3] Jack: about to tell some sort of christmas story if i cut the tree next to it right now boys and girls
[1109.3] Curry: the other thing coming up in in january is of course the uh the registration
[1114.26] Curry: palava yet again when is that is that it's like the end of january january the 20th in my head
[1119.46] Frank: what what am i thinking now uh yeah something's happening then isn't there uh no i know you took
[1127.3] Curry: a straw poll last week about who was going to do it and who wasn't and all that sort of gubbins
[1132.82] Curry: but uh are we are we confident it's going to happen or is there going to be some sort of
[1137.22] Curry: last minute reprieve people are going to realize oh hang on we have to change it again in june
[1140.98] Frank: what's the point that sort of thing i think it's very unlikely that's going to change um i mean
[1147.06] Frank: there's there's been um there has been stuff going on but in all honesty i've forgotten most of it
[1155.3] Frank: um but the um i mean yeah i think it what the end of january when i think if i remember correctly
[1166.59] Frank: is where the exemptions run out for not having not displaying something on your craft
[1174.35] Frank: if you're a fpdk or bmfa i think it's that one so because that's because we're doing the uh
[1183.71] Frank: renewal of the bmfa memberships um so at this point this is where they're going to be issuing
[1191.39] Frank: numbers to us so that you put them on your craft i think if i'm remembering correctly but
[1197.15] Andy: don't quote me on that um that's about right so that we haven't you haven't got to do anything
[1202.99] Andy: other than renew your bmfa and then they'll they'll probably let registers and operate
[1211.71] Andy: on behalf of members and each and offenders number given so i think it's that they're registering us
[1222.75] Frank: for them but they've been continuing talks so i don't know if something might come out of that
[1228.11] Frank: where it gets it'd be nice if they extended it out to july as carrie said well it's just like
[1234.51] Curry: we pay for the year but really we're only going to get six months aren't we they should reduce
[1240.19] Curry: the price further what do you mean by that well the the law changes if the the new stuff comes in
[1248.48] Curry: in june and so this whole registration scheme is going to go out the window because all the new
[1254.4] Frank: stuff comes in it's not replacing it though it's just extending it so that if it's sub 250 grams
[1261.12] Frank: and it has a camera on it then it also needs to be have a feel flown by a registered pilot and all
[1267.76] Andy: that so we we'd still so we'd still be like exempt from that if you're a bmfa member
[1276.48] Andy: oh i did find out something though um when when i went to the uh the hm you know how
[1284.32] Andy: jack did the online test thing uh for which is sort of equal to an asa
[1291.04] Andy: uh found out found out that only uh lasts of three years and then you have to do it again
[1298.72] Curry: yeah jeez jack's having to get through that again that's that's for everything though that's for
[1305.52] Frank: all of the um uh pilot registrations so the operator registrations of every year but the
[1312.56] Andy: pilot registrations of every three years yeah but if you've got a b-cert or an actual nayster
[1318.88] Andy: then you then you're exempt from that i believe but we shall see if they update that within the
[1325.04] Frank: next three years yeah i mean there's the the really latest news about um a lot more uh beef loss um
[1337.04] Frank: and eve loss stuff being organized um but i haven't really read too much into it hang on so
[1345.68] Curry: beef loss is obviously beyond visual line of sight what's eve loss extended visual line of
[1350.72] Frank: sight so if you use binoculars essentially yeah it's if if if your sputter isn't actually doing

[1363.36] Frank: sight either by some means or by you know driving off after it and it's got you on the phone um

[1604.91] Curry: somebody somebody had a water drone uh i noticed that was that was going around because they were
[1612.11] Curry: too lazy to snorkel in the 30 degree water so they were essentially driving a sub around looking at
[1618.03] Frank: fish that would be my approach i think that sounds perfectly sensible it was i want i wanted to have
[1624.67] Curry: a chat with them and ask him if i could quickly review it as part of my channel but they they left
[1629.39] Curry: before i got a chance to because it's literally like you see this submarine going down you're
[1633.23] Curry: trying to follow the tether back to see where it's coming from so you can knock on their door and say
[1637.31] Curry: can i play with your underwater thing please but we didn't get a chance to do it that was my drone
[1644.83] Andy: related news i've i found it on youtube that leads nicely onto a question in the chat actually
[1651.95] Andy: so we've got ara ara drew it says okay any projections for where the hobby will go in 2020
[1659.87] Andy: down the toilet by the sound of it i'm fine with under water drones well yes exactly well no no
[1667.31] Andy: because uh they'll obviously get caught up in uh ships uh propellers and sink average murder
[1677.07] Andy: everyone or for you know they'll kill all the whales or something like that you have to it'd
[1682.91] Curry: be interesting to see the same level of hysteria like there's like 130 million ton tanker
[1689.07] Curry: saying i almost sank when a drone this big hit my hull yeah exactly funny enough it's kind of the
[1697.31] SPEAKER_01: same sort of thing really isn't it yeah it got sucked into my propeller damaged my propeller
[1703.95] SPEAKER_01: my propeller flung off and i was stranded because of a drone everybody died and it's all the drones
[1711.87] SPEAKER_01: felt and the tanker then tilted because there was no load on the propeller and we were a hundred
[1719.63] Curry: million gallons of crude oil yeah even though they're on a hundred meter tether it still managed to
[1724.75] Curry: fly underwater for miles yeah hours at a time and kill us all yeah that that'll be the thing
[1731.79] Frank: just any time a ship sinks it was a an underwater drone was spotted nearby yes yeah a thousand miles
[1739.55] Andy: from land i i can see um ground-based fpv vehicles becoming popular i think you're entirely
[1748.03] Andy: responsible andy so you're not at all i just think uh you and your motorbike and your f1 car
[1755.79] Andy: yeah you're a bloody traitor now i just think everybody all at the same time that came to
[1761.71] Andy: this point where in november it was like right what else can we fpv and it all just happened
[1768.03] Andy: it like you know um uh who is it uh but but carl us um has a lot to do with they're doing a lot of
[1775.87] Andy: like uh drift crawlers and stuff and all sorts of stuff like that they would they were doing
[1783.31] Andy: that when we were at weston park they were ahead of the game there you know see i've always loved
[1789.07] Curry: have you ever seen the videos using the tracks to summit with a tonka body uh which it makes a
[1796.27] Curry: brilliant car and people like fit them out with uh you know 1.2 gigahertz video systems and long
[1803.71] Curry: range stuff and they drive for like a quarter of a mile around the neighborhood which looks
[1807.47] Andy: amazing that would still be illegal though wouldn't it only only as far as the frequency
[1814.19] Curry: stuff goes in this country yeah but the the only thing that worries me about ground fpv because
[1820.03] Curry: it's something you could like have fun pushing the distance because you know you you kind of know
[1825.87] Curry: where you're going but i always think that it's more likely that some kid sees it and says oh my
[1831.15] Curry: god a magic car picks it up and takes it home and you're like where's my car gone it's like
[1835.95] Andy: 500 quid worth there's kids have run off with it you didn't need to have a spotter you see and
[1842.27] Andy: at least at least the car cars have got a place where you could put a registration number that's
[1848.59] Curry: true number but yeah i've seen people on those videos uh you'll have to check them out i think
[1854.19] Curry: they even call them tonka summits because they literally get the old big metal tonka bodies
[1859.71] Curry: shove them on at the tracks of summit which is in itself like a 500 quid car and drive those but
