[170.03] AndyRC: Yeah. All that business just to fly. But there you go. I managed to do it. So yeah.

[188.03] Curry: I have flown around and around in my garden. It was tremendously exciting and I flew over the top
[193.79] AndyRC: of my head. Be that. Anyone in the chat been flying? Let us know. Do you want to show people
[199.71] Curry: what you were flying above your head? It's not that big. I was just telling you and Andy,
[205.07] Curry: this is the HDRC Sector 132. It is a two and a half inch props enclosed and I was using a
[212.35] Curry: 3S battery. So I got a hover point of about 50 percent. And although it's pretty small,
[216.91] Curry: it's not like one of those three inch cine whoops. When it flew off my head, it was very
[222.99] Curry: frightening because you can feel the amount of draft coming down and that's quite scary.
[229.07] Curry: But it did, it did fly. I set up to be really gentle. I just ran around the garden. I expect
[234.75] Curry: this is what a BMFA field is like or be a small one, just go around and around in circles.
[239.79] Curry: It was quite dull. I couldn't dive any trees. I couldn't go into my neighbor's garden because
[244.03] Curry: it might crash and I have to get it back again. So yeah, ran around and around in the house,
[248.27] Curry: back out. It's going to be an interesting fun packed review. I can show you clockwise circles.
[254.03] Curry: I can go anti-clockwise. We can go up and we can go down and we can look in the window upstairs.
[258.75] AndyRC: That was about it really. Exciting. Do you do it in acro or in stability mode in the house?
[266.03] Curry: I was using angle. I was actually using angle outside, which I never do. I did fly in
[272.75] Curry: acro for a bit outside because I had it set up gentle, just to see if it was a bit smoother.
[277.23] Curry: But because it's such a, when you're in such a restricted space, I don't know about you,
[282.99] Curry: I tend to over correct a lot when I'm in acro. It's one of the few times I'm prepared to use
[288.35] Curry: angle, especially in the house because I'm using my normal rates on acro. I was like back forth,
[294.11] Curry: back forth, and over correcting everywhere because you just haven't got the space you want.
[298.51] AndyRC: Yeah, I think unless you've got a huge amount of space,
[303.95] AndyRC: the way that the field of view is on the camera means that in acro mode, you can drift just
[309.31] AndyRC: slightly and hit the wall and not realize it. Whereas angle mode, it stays a lot more steady.
[316.67] Curry: Although you think you're very tightly controlled, even when you're in a big field,
[321.15] Curry: as when you're in acro as normal, in reality, as soon as you put yourself in that tight space,
[327.63] Curry: you can see the amount of drift you've got there. Although like only six feet,
[331.39] Curry: either side, there's nothing in the field, but in a house, it's the difference between
[334.99] Curry: hitting a wall or a cat. How is your pussy?
[341.95] Curry: I'm resisting the urge to make a rude comment and I will say she's fine. She's fat and lazy as ever.

[419.47] Curry: The way we've gone out slightly is the dog is called Roshi and Roshi is the name of a Maldivian
[425.87] Curry: flatbed that you might dip in curry. It's all food related and it's kind of curry related
[432.43] Curry: but it doesn't strictly meet the curry criteria.

[441.15] Curry: Tony is disappointed by that, aren't you? I know, I know. I constantly pick myself up about it.

[450.11] Tony: I flew a city road in the other day which was quite nice. Blue bells were out and I
[457.39] Tony: rode there and I flew my whoop.
[461.47] Frank: I saw you in the Instagram of the eggs amongst the spot of where they're all buried.
[467.71] Jack: Yes, that made me laugh so much. I was flicking through his thing, being like,
[472.19] Jack: I wonder what he's up to today. Is it washing up or the photos of the dog? Check, check.
[479.55] Jack: Miss my girlfriend. Check. Then all of a sudden, you just see a photo of this shallow grave with
[487.71] Jack: logs in it being like just the tag hookers. I nearly dropped my phone down the toilet.

[506.67] Tony: I took my daily allowance and went down to the nice bluebell woods and flew the
[512.51] Tony: city whoop through the bluebells and up the stream which was quite scary. It's pretty
[516.59] Tony: flying horribly and it was quite windy so it was a bit hard to fly. I probably took a
[526.11] Tony: couple of clips to find to get a good bit of footage on there. It was not very good but
[534.27] AndyRC: it come out all right so I was happy. Was it a ready to fly turn or did you build it yourself?
[540.35] Tony: I'd buy them. I'll build it off a mate. Have you seen my soldering?
[547.79] AndyRC: Yes, it's just I've received a lot of those city whoops over the last couple of years.
[552.75] AndyRC: Why is there turkeys in the background?

[563.47] AndyRC: and they're still there. All of the dogs are out. All of the dogs are boxes.

[577.07] AndyRC: They're two meters apart but then it's become a social thing here so 15 minutes and then go out
[583.15] AndyRC: for a try. That's why I had my mic muted because the dogs barking and everyone's
[590.67] AndyRC: deaf from banging all the pots and pans so they resorted to shouting.
[595.55] AndyRC: Well you've got to go out there with your pots and pans.

[659.87] AndyRC: I did yeah. It's very tricky to find a space where there's not somebody exercising.
[667.23] AndyRC: Like I say luckily the house backs onto the field that I fly on so I can sort of sit in the lounge
[675.31] AndyRC: and look for a field's worth of space of non-exercises. The problem is with people
[681.31] AndyRC: who are doing exercising is they tend to appear quite quickly because they're running and stuff.
[689.95] AndyRC: Dog walkers I'm used to but now there are families of people without dogs and that's new to me.
[697.23] AndyRC: So it's just finding the space and making sure it's safe.
[701.55] AndyRC: I've got a spotter who lives in this house and they have an A-cert.
[708.91] AndyRC: But it's really frustrating to do aqua. You need quite a bit of space
[715.79] AndyRC: and if there's a group of people in the corner and you can't fly near them it can be quite
[721.47] AndyRC: frustrating. You don't want to cause any problems or anything. But I have managed to get out and
[727.31] AndyRC: fly. I tell you what as well it was such a relief. I never realized how much I actually love this
[735.55] AndyRC: is when you have you know I think I went three weeks without doing any flying and then I was like
[742.11] AndyRC: part of it was to make a video but part of it was for my sanity and I got out there and it was like
[747.63] AndyRC: this huge weight lifted off me when I was flying. So yeah they're still out there doing the clapping.
[754.75] AndyRC: So sorry about the noise coming through. But yeah I think you could definitely
[761.55] AndyRC: count it as one for the health going out and having a quick fly even if it's just my recommendation
[766.83] AndyRC: would be to fly a toothpick because no one can see them. They're really light and you don't need to
[772.27] AndyRC: worry about getting in people's way and stuff. So that'd be my recommendation if you want to
[778.91] AndyRC: but get your fix because it's healthy for you for sure.

[850.11] Curry: on the floor just to see if their cats are ninjas and if you put like hundreds of dominoes

[978.45] Curry: I shall mention I've got this interesting product for you to test which I know
[982.13] Curry: NJ's got. I don't know if you did Andy. This thing the tune RC. It is a, thank you, USB dongle
[989.97] Curry: and you plug it in and when you press that button it binds on a D8 and then you can use
[996.37] Curry: it as like a wireless sim thing. It goes. No I didn't. I didn't. How did they contact you
[1005.49] Curry: via email or something? Yeah they just emailed. Tune RC they're called. Never heard of them before.
[1010.69] Curry: This is a beta version. I did pick up one weird thing with it because I tried it on my sim and
[1017.81] Curry: I noticed the sorry technical boredom coming up here. Normally a joystick works on like axis
[1024.21] Curry: zero to four or zero to three. This was axis zero, axis one, ten, eleven, eighteen, nineteen,
[1031.49] Curry: twenty, twenty one which was a little bit peculiar. Because it's a receiver though
[1038.13] AndyRC: when it could pick up the mapping differently I think. It's not that. This is from the USB end.
[1047.01] Curry: So you've got the receiver thing. That's just like it's a D8. There's eight channels.
[1052.29] Curry: So in the HID setup for USB which is a human interface device which is this horrendous piece
[1059.65] Curry: of code if you've ever looked through the documents. It basically finds the properties
[1064.77] Curry: of your joystick and for whatever reason there are basically 32 axis properties and instead of
[1073.73] Curry: going zero to three it's all over the shot. Oh so it's not working is what you're saying?
[1080.29] Curry: No, it works. It was weird. On my sim I have this debug screen which says here's axis one to eight.
[1088.29] Curry: Here's what your joystick's doing. I never thought about like oh what if you're on axis 22 because
[1094.05] Curry: that would be weird but it works and it works on Velocidrone and Freerider and Liftoff. No problem.
[1102.29] Curry: It just struck me as weird but I thought that was quite good. I think if you've got
[1105.97] Curry: FreeSky stuff you'd probably plug in via USB anyway but apparently they're doing a
[1109.89] Curry: FlySky version which is yeah because everybody on FlySky is the normal like PPM cable in the back
[1117.41] AndyRC: and not just that. The FlySky i6 is probably the cheapest hobby transmitter you can get
[1124.45] AndyRC: but they're really good at the same time so that's good. What's the
[1130.93] AndyRC: origin of sorry the country of origin for the product? Is it US or Europe? Oh it's China of
[1137.73] AndyRC: course. Oh it's China. Interesting then. They might have sent me an email. Probably not though
[1143.49] AndyRC: because I've not been putting that much out. I don't know. After check. In terms of new products
[1151.17] Curry: that was something that actually a little bit different which I thought was quite interesting.

[1222.85] Curry: tunerc.com but it hasn't been released yet. This is the beta version. They seem to be suggesting
[1227.81] Curry: they were going to. I spoke to them today after I was just reporting that I felt it kind of weird
[1233.41] Curry: where they had the axis mapping. What are they called? Tunerc. Let me see if I can find them
[1239.73] Curry: on the internet. I think you talked tune. Tune helps you breathe more easily.

[1289.84] Curry: about changing. This is more boring hit stuff. At the moment it's defined as a joystick.
[1296.48] Curry: They were talking about doing it as a gamepad which is slightly different properties. I don't
[1303.12] Curry: know if it's going to make a difference. I tried because I wanted to get to. This is based on
[1309.92] Curry: an open source project called PPM2USB. So they copied something and made it as a product.
[1317.6] Curry: They've copied it from Thomas Pfeiffer. Anybody heard of him? I thought I'll show you a website.
[1324.24] AndyRC: Hang on. I'm not shocked that it's a copy though to be honest. It's probably
[1329.84] AndyRC: the open source won't it and then they've just stuck a name on it. Yeah basically they've chucked.
[1335.04] Curry: Well they've done a little bit more. They've basically chucked a receiver. Apparently FRS
[1344.48] AndyRC: is that Steve Carr's FRS guy has got their own dongle have they? I didn't know that. I've had
[1351.2] Frank: an FRS guy, a USB dongle for ages. It was like an orange one so I guess hobby king.
[1358.96] AndyRC: Oh so it's not it's not our FRS guy. So they already exist then. It's nothing new.
[1364.64] Curry: Oh yeah this is this isn't a brand new new thing but this comes from, hang on a sec,
[1371.12] AndyRC: I will find it. Because I know something that people have been doing is using their own model
[1378.4] AndyRC: as a receiver and plugging that into the computer. You can do that. The only problem with doing that
[1385.52] AndyRC: is I noticed flight controllers especially the small all-in-one flight controllers get
[1392.96] AndyRC: really hot these days if they're left plugged in which so I've been advising against doing that
[1398.48] AndyRC: really. Otherwise you get like a warning through your on-screen display.
[1406.32] Frank: The other thing that I've seen before is using, in fact, Andy you're probably well acquainted
[1412.56] Frank: with it now, the ATtiny85 which is a little little chip that can be used as a hit controller.
[1422.48] Jack: Look at that. Oh I'd kiss him. I'd kiss his little face. Look at the little feet fluff.
[1431.76] Frank: I thought this was Curry bringing up the tune RC.
[1436.88] Frank: I was just bringing up some random cat fetters. Random cat stuff here we go.
[1443.04] Jack: Not a random cat. You know what cat that is. That's allergy cat.
[1449.52] Curry: So this is where it comes from and if you plug it in. Is that an FTDI adapter?
[1455.36] Curry: That's an FTDI adapter made into a PPM to USB adapter. So what they've done they've taken this
[1466.0] Curry: open source thing and they haven't changed any code because when you plug it in it identifies
[1472.24] Curry: itself as a Thomas Pfeiffer.net device and basically they've added a D8 receiver in there
[1480.48] Curry: or some sort of compatible thing and that's what's made it work. So I was actually looking at the
[1486.56] Curry: source code trying to work out the hit thing but it is a nightmare. It's a horrible code.
[1491.44] AndyRC: They have added something to it then.
[1494.0] Curry: Yes they've added the receiver in. So previously it was just you could plug it into the back of
[1499.36] Curry: your radio and work on the PPM to USB that way but they've done one more thing.
[1506.72] Curry: All right got you. But yeah that was my exciting new product.
[1513.17] AndyRC: Well I look forward to your video on that because it doesn't look like I'm going to be getting one.
[1517.89] Curry: That's what happens when you ignore people. I know the trouble is it's buried amongst all
[1525.01] Curry: the Wi-Fi light bulb offers and stuff like that probably.
[1527.97] AndyRC: Yeah I have some stuff even going to spam. The thing I'm always wary about beta testing products
[1535.65] AndyRC: as well because essentially and you become the advertisement but you're also if you find a
[1542.77] AndyRC: problem you could spend hours and hours on something and then oh it's got a fundamental
[1547.57] AndyRC: flaw it's no good and it's like you've wasted a lot of your time and they've all they've done
[1554.05] AndyRC: really has used you as a beta tester you know because you're experienced in it and I've wasted
[1561.41] AndyRC: so much time being a beta tester and you don't get like you'll find problems and they don't even
[1568.37] AndyRC: listen to it and just release it anyways and so yeah I've been I've been stung with stuff like
[1575.33] AndyRC: that in the past so I probably did look at it but yeah that'd be interesting to see though.
[1581.97] AndyRC: I think especially at this time as well when people are on simulators and stuff a lot would
[1587.09] Curry: be good for that. Yeah I was gonna say talking of that not talking about my one for a change I
[1594.29] Curry: noticed that Orca have been developing their own one. Yeah so their one's called uh it's it's coming
[1603.65] Tony: out on steam I forgot what's called now first my steam window. Stella Fox playing it the other day
[1610.93] Tony: I think she's got something to do with it I think she's been helping them do stuff I thought it was
[1615.49] Tony: built into the goggles but I don't think it is. It's definitely not because it's on steam and it says
[1622.21] AndyRC: for mac windows and Linux. I was imagining that that'd be great a sim built into goggles they might
[1628.77] AndyRC: actually be worth a grand then you know yeah it sounds like something you should be able to put
[1638.05] AndyRC: on the Oculus Quest right? Oh absolutely yeah that's a good point you should be able to stick
[1643.01] AndyRC: them on goggle especially at that point I mean you know we're looking at FPV goggles cost
[1647.57] AndyRC: three times as much as VR goggles you know because they're that specific
[1654.61] AndyRC: so they should have a simulator should have a built-in simulator all of them should.
[1658.93] Frank: Yeah but there's also the differences that the VR stuff they can make their profit on the sales
[1665.49] Frank: of the software rather than necessarily having to do it on the hardware as obviously
[1670.53] Frank: fatshot can't then sell you software to go on your goggles. Yeah unless they team up with someone
[1677.89] Jack: well no they can give you update software that bricks your
