[180.94] Frank: it in the audio discord as well. So this is a Latvian sort of research I guess kind of level
[192.78] Frank: thing. Big fixed wing. It's got internal combustion engine, batteries, solar panels.
[201.02] Frank: It's a motor glider more than kind of it's got really long wings and it can fly for four days
[210.14] Frank: and they they took it up and then it disappeared and they lost control of it and yeah yeah and
[221.58] Frank: with four days worth of fuel on board they just kind of went oh well we don't know where it is
[229.02] Frank: and so they have to shut down a lot of airspace to manned air traffic because they didn't know
[233.98] Frank: whether they were just gonna you know have this unmanned aircraft just hurtling at someone.
[240.3] Frank: How big is it? I can't remember. I'll take it out. Probably a few meters of the wingspan but
[248.62] Paweł: finding that stuff in the air oh come on we are watching too many US Hollywood movies when they
[256.06] Paweł: know everything that's fly. No this is absolutely not true. A funny story. I don't think they'll
[263.82] Curry: find that. I was just gonna say is it running INEV? Is it Power's fault that it disappeared?

[276.7] Paweł: be because I know that some companies are trying to run INEV on very very specialistic let's say
[285.66] Paweł: pieces of hardware. I have no idea but a funny story. I know someone who won a bet with the
[296.14] Paweł: commanding officer of the military base that he can fly over this military base without the
[304.3] Paweł: people in the military base sitting behind the riders will know about his presence. He got this
[310.22] Paweł: legal. He got the permission from the authorities and he flew over the base and he won.
[315.74] Jack: They had no idea the airplane was there. Wow. Wow. That's the last we ever saw of you because
[325.18] Jack: letting that information out on this show has probably just killed you. You have no idea which
[330.78] Paweł: country. Yeah true. And which base. Or I might be lying. This is also possible. Yeah we don't know.
[340.54] Jack: But it's a full story right? It is. We lose Tony all the time. He's quite small.
[349.34] Curry: Shut up. They ignore radar hits on small things because they just figure it was birds and stuff
[356.62] Curry: or something. That's not a very technical explanation but that's what I heard about

[368.54] Paweł: background noise of anything. So it's there or it's not there. Maybe it's a shredding drone.
[373.74] Jack: Maybe it crashed two weeks ago and nobody knows about it. Well if that is the case then there's
[381.02] Jack: always a drone there. Yes of course. And there's a possibility that the drone isn't also not there.
[386.54] Jack: Of course. We've got an INF traitor in our hands amidst being like he's giving up. He said he's

[455.1] SPEAKER_02: Yeah good news is Currie kitten did fly a drone in his garden and I've seen the footage.
[460.54] Paweł: Yeah I've seen the footage as well but I'm not sure it's really positive right?
[464.78] Curry: Was it flying though? Would anybody else like to see the footage?
[469.66] Curry: Yeah me again. Let me just quickly explain the setup here. This was my initial line of sight
[479.74] Curry: with the iFlight Green Falcon which is one of these, they call them silly whoops don't they?
[486.3] Curry: But they're not really whoops they just happen to have ducted fans. So it in fact sounds like a jet
[492.46] Curry: airplane when it takes off. It's the loudest thing I've ever flown but what it didn't do was beep
[497.82] Curry: when I armed it. So just check if it was armed. I just moved the throttle up a bit
[503.02] Curry: but it was a bit sensitive so when I moved the throttle up a bit to check it was armed
[507.42] Paweł: is what happened. Yeah two seconds of flight. That was my main flight. Is it flying if it's
[518.7] Curry: under control? No. Yeah I did some more flights on it and it was fine. It's really loud
[527.74] Curry: and really quite scary to have around your garden or anything but you know it was all right once
[538.06] Curry: I got it like happy. I don't like, I was flying that on angle which I wouldn't normally do. It
[544.3] Curry: was just because I was so compressed and of course angle will get your motors moving up more than you
[549.26] Curry: want them to anyway but yeah I could fly around some little gaps. I didn't take it in the house
[553.74] Curry: because other people are in the house and if I ruined the house I'd have no plausible deniability.
[559.66] Curry: I have to do it when people aren't there and then I could just say I don't know Robbers came and
[563.02] SPEAKER_02: smashed the house up or something. I now know why everyone was scared when I flew mine around the
[568.78] Curry: office. It's terrifying. No those things are extremely loud. It reverbs so all the air pushing
[578.14] Curry: downwards onto the deck it was just and I noticed one of the motors was really really hot and the
[583.98] Curry: battery lasted barely three minutes just going around the garden so it's a very specific purpose
[591.66] Curry: but I can imagine there's interesting places to try out when we're allowed to go. I have something
[597.98] Paweł: like that and mine is flying around six minutes on the regular 1.5 amp hour sleepo so maybe there's
[604.78] SPEAKER_02: just something wrong with yours. Mine 1600 milliamp 4s flies two and a half minutes.
[613.34] Curry: So me and Tony were saying what are you carrying on yours?
[617.58] Paweł: GoPro still? Yeah with the GoPro. The GoPro I still have like six minutes of flight.
[623.66] Paweł: And three-inch props? Three-inch props? Yeah three-inch props. That's the iFlight
[629.02] Paweł: Megabee or something like that. In general almost the same format.
[633.1] Paweł: Only mine is full black. I just put regular leapo 1.5 amp hours 4s and regular props and the regular
[641.26] Paweł: GoPro. I broke them by the way a few days ago finally and I can send it on the warranty.
[648.46] Paweł: And this thing still pulls around six minutes of flight. Without the GoPro closer to seven
[653.74] Paweł: of course it all depends on the total management but yeah this is this is how it flies.
[660.86] Curry: I can't get six minutes. Three minutes. I mean
[667.34] Curry: 1.3 amp 4s not great batteries but it wouldn't be double the difference.
[673.26] Curry: And yours is... It's bloody heavy but it flies. Yeah 620 grams that. They don't fly nice either
[681.18] Curry: do they? No. Yeah they're for a purpose but that's my god. I did a job. No but
[693.66] Paweł: there is a purpose of like being able to fit in those all the tight places. My colleague has
[701.26] Paweł: it's not even three inch because it's four inch it's super heavy almost like a five-inch eraser.
[706.38] Paweł: It has a GoPro on the on the tilt. So the GoPro gun and it has cameras on both sides so he can
[717.74] Paweł: fly forward backward and when he flies backward just the GoPro flips from this tilt to this tilt.
[724.3] Paweł: So yeah you can you can and you actually can fly relatively close to people without the people
[730.38] Paweł: being scared of being cut by the propellers. Yes still bloody loud still controls altitude like
[738.38] Frank: piece of whatever but flies. Fraser had a question for Power. Does iNav do biocopters and does it
[747.82] Paweł: do VTOL transitions? Yes it should do biocopters. It even should do single copters and it even should
[756.3] Paweł: dual copters whatever copters there are because this is only about setting the mixer.
[761.42] Paweł: However it's not doing the VTOL transition. It can almost do VTOL transition. It can swap the
[770.94] Paweł: yaw no roll and yaw. One of the two of the axes has swapped but it cannot attenuate pizza
[777.58] Paweł: between first and the second so not yet not yet maybe in a few years it will learn to do that.
[783.82] Jack: And also i saw that you've done your crawler you uploaded it like a couple of days ago.

[1180.46] Paweł: return by your own tracks uh code uh but it's highly outdated i was just afraid to merge it
[1188.7] Paweł: it was highly experimental nobody's brave enough to really test it but uh maybe one day someone
[1197.58] Paweł: will find some time try to update the code and run it because yeah it's possible it's possible
[1203.82] Paweł: just to recreate your own tracks and also if for example the waypoints mission mission waypoints

[1400.3] Frank: believe we did an interesting interview on painless's channel uh i think they were talking
[1407.02] Frank: about it um and about kind of the amount of work that went into making it work with the h7
[1414.86] Frank: and vice versa um that's right unlikely speaking of painless the problem with h7s is completely
[1424.78] Paweł: different the h7s as a as a series are the most powerful microcontrollers from the stm that's
[1434.62] Paweł: correct if for example you can get whatever running on the h7 for blah blah blah blah blah
[1442.54] Paweł: you have really like more computational power that you will ever need you can play video games on
[1448.94] Paweł: this you can decode mpeg you can do my my notes you can do almost everything however there are
[1456.06] Paweł: two problems problem number one we do not need all that computational power honestly the f7 is
[1463.5] Frank: completely enough in terms of the of the process about the f3 and the f5 as well until it wasn't
[1469.9] Paweł: the problem with the f3 is not even the computational power the problem with the f3
[1474.78] Paweł: is the limited memory in flash this is this is what's running out on the f3s not not not the
[1480.86] Paweł: cpu itself there's just not enough space to put new code into it uh so and in theory everything
[1486.94] Paweł: is should should great however it's too fast you're not really neat right now at least all that power
[1492.3] Paweł: the real problem with the boards that dominique cliffton is putting on the market is that they
[1498.62] Paweł: are based on the 8750 which is the cheapest 87 still fast but the cheapest and has even less flash
[1509.98] Paweł: than f3s so the trick is that for the 8750 you have to put the code either on the sd card and
[1518.38] Paweł: load the code from the sd card during boot and move it to the ram memory or have separate chip
[1526.38] Paweł: like for the black box dedicated only to store externally the the code of beta flight or in the
[1534.94] Paweł: future also also the ina so in theory it's faster but because it's the cheapest the less
[1540.94] Paweł: less flash equipped you have to put extra hardware to make distinct running
[1546.3] Paweł: you honestly you can also put the same stuff on the f7 to 2 and you will have
[1552.62] Paweł: almost the same benefits because the main limitation of the boards currently is the
[1557.1] Paweł: format of the boards the area of the boards look at the flight controllers by mattack for the for
[1564.22] Paweł: the wings for the for the airplanes they are not 36 by 36 why because you need space to put everything
[1574.22] Paweł: you even the most powerful f7 45 from mattack it's even two layers connected by wires because
[1582.78] Paweł: there is not enough space on the main board to put all the voltage stabilization so it's on the top
[1588.7] Paweł: board connected by the separate wires f7 45 this was the first series of the f7s that we were using
[1596.94] Paweł: uh on the on the boards great fantastic enough power enough flash enough memory enough inputs
[1605.18] Paweł: and outputs too big to really put on the 36 by 36 millimeter board and still have place to connect
[1613.42] Paweł: everything you want so this is a real limitation and now we have a question from zero fpv and the
[1620.38] Paweł: question is so why don't we just add additional flash on the board yes they are doing that but
[1626.62] Paweł: additional flash means that you have to have space on the board for this flash this is extra cheap
[1633.18] Paweł: you have to pay for it you have to manufacture solder this into place it takes space and
[1640.3] Paweł: honestly it increases costs if there were really rights now for the software we are using
[1647.34] Paweł: and need to have a cpu on the flight controller then yes h7 then yes we would go that way but
[1655.74] Paweł: this is not really a limitation the limitation is the size the limitation is the price the
[1659.98] Paweł: limitation is for example the RAM memory the limitation is what else i don't know the spi
[1668.62] Paweł: the gyros are the limitation everything connected via the i2c bus this is the limitation not more
[1674.46] Paweł: megahertz to run the the cores of the of the processor it's a hype it's a slightly a hype
[1679.98] Paweł: at least in my understanding but it sells well because command h7s are the fastest right so
[1685.42] Paweł: we need your quad will fly better if you will put the faster controller on it not exactly true
[1692.3] Paweł: but yeah i can i can see how people that are not really deeply into understanding of this topic
[1698.86] Paweł: can can go that route because kind of kind of makes sense after all it's better to have the
[1703.5] SPEAKER_02: faster pc than the slower pc right yes generally but if you're playing curry kittens it will be
[1712.38] SPEAKER_02: all right on anything what are you doing with your sim at the moment curry kitten up your chase
[1716.94] Curry: you're trying to set up a chase we have been well i've been working on the online multiplayer which
[1724.94] Curry: up until this evening was causing me problems uh trying to get that smooth because the the network
[1733.34] Curry: code to get the position data through was was making these jerky updates and i just tested it
[1738.54] Curry: before we came on with frank and i've had a breakthrough and we've got some smooth play on
[1743.5] Curry: there finally so i can i can move forward on that one because the rest of it's just about done
[1749.74] Curry: there's lobbies and rooms and you can join and games and stuff but it might add some more stuff

[1934.94] Frank: isn't kind of a thing anymore um but yeah we were down at uh hidden valley which is uh kind of
[1941.26] Frank: filled in the middle of nowhere um in this picturesque part of the south of england um
[1947.9] Frank: unfortunately local counselor slash dog walker didn't take a liking to drones being in that area
[1954.14] Frank: so we got moved on um then we uh for the past two years we've been at uh popum airfield um which is
[1963.9] Frank: a light aircraft airfield general aviation airfield um in the kind of still south of england but
[1972.22] Frank: it's at least kind of roughly level with london rather than being on the south coast
[1977.26] Frank: um and we've been there for the past couple of years and we've had more people getting involved
[1982.62] Frank: from all sorts of different corners of of the hobby generally um so we've we've kind of been
[1987.9] Frank: trying to keep it as a uh a model model air show but rather than being a lot of scale
[1998.06] Frank: balsa models with some drones tacked on the side we're trying to be kind of the latest stuff up
[2004.46] Frank: front with other things around the edge um so we've had uh the the um south hampson university's
[2014.7] Frank: um big big 3d printed um um unmanned aerial vehicle that's kind of you know got two internal
[2025.26] Frank: combustion engines and can go for ages um and for launching things around uh wind turbines and
[2033.26] Frank: coral reefs and all sorts of stuff um and we've had uh the x class and we've had uh all sorts of
[2041.98] Frank: things that we've we've been having uh obviously this year we can't have an in-person event so
[2047.5] Frank: we're dragging everyone together for it's gonna be online yeah a day of uh live online interactive
[2055.9] Frank: live streams and videos um that are on loads of different channels all over the internet but we're
[2062.46] Frank: pulling them together so that you can see them at mini air show dot code at uk new yeah so there's uh
[2070.38] Frank: so it's an online air show yeah that's the idea we'll see how it goes um so as well as the opal
[2078.06] Frank: um we'll hopefully have some freestyle um which we've done previously um still working out the
[2087.1] Frank: sign up for that but that should be going up soon as well alie barrett in the chat is doing a
[2092.78] Frank: velocidrone uh tournament in the evening um and we've also got um and he's he's he's built like
[2101.18] Frank: pop him like he has built pop him in velocidrone um it's pretty impressive how quickly he put

[2115.02] Frank: going on there we've also got uh paul jaggers um potentially doing some tiny loop go racing
