[155.58] Jack: If you didn't keep, if you kept still enough, you'd start sinking into the mud.

[201.42] AndyRC: But when Bojo announced that we were allowed to sit on a bench now,

[207.5] AndyRC: And my very first flight, I landed in a tree.

[214.94] AndyRC: But I spent the entire day flying.
[217.74] AndyRC: It was, yeah, it was really nice, actually.
[221.74] AndyRC: Now, those city works, when you hit a tree,
[225.58] AndyRC: they just bounce off them and land on the ground.
[228.46] AndyRC: So I didn't have to do any climbing.
[230.38] AndyRC: But, yeah, I really want to get back to the big flying field and do some.
[236.54] AndyRC: I've been looking at some big EDF jets.
[238.94] AndyRC: I fancy a go at one of those.
[242.54] Curry: The reason they don't get stuck in a tree is they're too heavy, of course.
[245.5] Curry: The trees just break and they come down.
[247.42] Curry: That's one advantage of something as much fun.
[249.66] AndyRC: Yeah, I thought that the branches will get stuck, but they don't.
[253.26] AndyRC: Because, yeah, there's nothing really to get stuck.
[255.5] AndyRC: The props are quite thick and everything's thick.
[258.38] AndyRC: And I watched the video back and it just sort of bounced off everything.
[262.62] AndyRC: Either that or I was lucky.
[263.98] AndyRC: But, yeah, they're really fun to fly through trees.
[270.54] AndyRC: Because I saw your video, Wayne, on the green hornet.
[274.38] AndyRC: But I got loads of trees around here.
[276.46] AndyRC: It's amazing how you can sort of navigate through the trees.
[279.9] AndyRC: And you can flip them and not get in too much trouble either.
[283.26] Curry: Yeah, someone suggested that he wanted to get one for going through trees.
[286.46] Curry: I hadn't thought of that.
[287.74] Curry: I thought, oh, well, that gives me something to do.
[290.06] Curry: Because you know how easy it is to catch a ghost branch.
[292.62] Curry: And it would just take your prop and you'll spin down to the floor
[295.18] Curry: pretty easily a lot of the times.
[296.78] Curry: So it'd be quite good just trying to get through a little bit further
[300.22] Curry: and not have to worry about hitting little branches
[302.54] Curry: that just ruin your day all the time.
[305.1] AndyRC: Yeah, I know you, Tony, you were considering this.
[308.54] AndyRC: But this is definitely becoming a thing, isn't it?

[345.9] Tony: I've bought a Hero 7 to take it down.
[349.26] Tony: So I could take it down to Jacks and get him to take it apart.

[366.86] AndyRC: because the 7, I think you're carrying out the 7 to work,
[372.22] AndyRC: but you have to have really odd mounting.

[380.3] AndyRC: because it doesn't have the hypersmooth or anything.

[470.06] Tony: but it's a bit of a risk, isn't it, taking apart?

[581.02] AndyRC: you do, and then you destroy an expensive GoPro,
[585.34] AndyRC: it's that could be really damaging to your ego.
[588.78] AndyRC: So I might leave it for a bit, but it's an interesting concept.

[597.26] AndyRC: but I did receive a message off a particular company

[610.3] AndyRC: but I think they've seen how popular it is.
[613.1] AndyRC: And it's probably not going to be cheap, I'd imagine,
[617.5] AndyRC: because, you know, you'll probably have to buy the GoPro
[620.62] AndyRC: and then they do the work for you or something like that.

[633.1] Curry: So it's not like GoPro actually,
[635.98] Curry: they did move away from the certain ships
[639.1] Curry: that they were using, but it's not GoPro.
[642.14] Curry: I don't think their chip sets proprietary, is it?
[644.78] Curry: So somebody could look at that and say,
[646.7] Curry: oh, we could build something quite similar to that,
[648.62] Curry: but perhaps they can't replicate the firmware.

[653.42] Curry: try to bring out lightweight cameras
[654.78] Curry: to emulate GoPros don't do that well.

[662.86] Tony: the 20-gram one, Insta360, whatever it's called, the Go.

[1499.84] AndyRC: There's some weird stuff going on with transmitters that has been for a long time.
[1504.4] AndyRC: And so jumper came out and copied FR sky stuff that upset our sky.
[1511.6] AndyRC: But then within jumper, they split up.
[1514.4] AndyRC: And they've made two identical transmitters themselves.
[1518.4] AndyRC: Once called radio, not identical.
[1520.64] AndyRC: But there's not that much difference between them.
[1524.88] AndyRC: So there's that going on.
[1525.84] AndyRC: And there's they've got so jumpers got a new transmitter coming out called the T 18.
[1531.6] AndyRC: And that that now that one's interesting, because you know,
[1536.48] AndyRC: all these transmitters are multi protocol transmitters.
[1540.16] AndyRC: The T 18 has got our nine built into it.
[1543.84] AndyRC: And I'm very skeptical about that, because how many times have they changed the hardware
[1549.36] AndyRC: when it comes to our nine?
[1551.12] AndyRC: I think that's a big risk sticking our nine in there as a chip, you know, because
[1558.24] Frank: it maybe it means that they've given up on the R&D on the R9 and whatever it is.
[1563.04] Frank: Now, that's what it's going to be for the foreseeable future.
[1567.52] AndyRC: Well, I'm not too sure if it, you know, when it when they announced all of this access protocol
[1574.08] AndyRC: and our nine, they said it wasn't going to need hardware changes that this is our sky.
[1579.2] AndyRC: And then noise, then all of a sudden there's a new terrain is there's a
[1583.2] AndyRC: all the receivers, if you want over the air, you have to buy all new receivers.
[1589.28] AndyRC: So very.
[1590.88] AndyRC: And then I also think as well, if you go in long range, I mean, I've tried the R9 system.
[1596.48] AndyRC: And if you're on a budget, then sure, but crossfire is would be impossible to replace
[1604.0] Jack: for me. So yeah, I don't I don't even know, like what to or whether I should flash from
[1615.2] Jack: my tyrannis, because I got the 2019. And is it true if I flash it, then all my X4 R's
[1626.16] Jack: stop working.

[1630.8] Curry: It's the module, isn't it? Yeah.
[1633.2] Curry: If you update OpenTX, you're okay, but don't update the module.
[1636.8] Curry: That's why you see this.
[1638.96] Curry: I've been on the budget end of the really is I've got this one instead.
[1644.4] Curry: Which is actually okay, except the fact this is so weird, because it runs OpenTX.
[1650.96] Curry: But can you see a screen or any setup buttons?
[1653.04] Curry: No.
[1654.0] Curry: So it runs a they forked off a version of OpenTX 224.
[1660.0] Curry: You have to go into the OpenTX companion, of which they've made a special version
[1664.96] Curry: to try and fiddle about with the endpoints to make it work.
[1667.84] Curry: And it's only got one model memory.
[1669.12] Curry: So it's not, it's not gonna set the world off fire.
[1671.76] Curry: But it is about 30 quid.
[1673.28] Curry: And it flies quite well.
[1674.8] Curry: This feels one model memory, a one model memory.
[1678.88] Curry: So this is essentially, if you've got whoops, you can do your whoops in the same configuration
[1686.48] Curry: and use it like that.
[1687.52] Curry: And it's got USB and it works on the sim.
[1689.68] Curry: And it recharges the battery when you plug it in.
[1691.52] Curry: So it's not bad.
[1692.48] Curry: It's only 30 quid.
[1693.36] Curry: So it's cheaper than a controller.
[1696.0] AndyRC: You only need one model memory if you keep all your settings the same.
[1700.48] AndyRC: Anyway, that's that's pretty, pretty cool.
[1703.52] AndyRC: 30 quid on it.
[1704.64] AndyRC: And the proper gimbals as well.
[1706.8] AndyRC: They they're sending me one.
[1708.24] AndyRC: But because I fly mode one, they got to do some stuff.
[1712.0] Curry: Yeah, my only problem was it arrived.
[1715.76] Curry: And it sort of made this shaky noise when I rattled it.
[1718.96] Curry: And I had to open up twice, because there was there was a weight here which had come loose.
[1723.84] Curry: And then when I turned it on, it rattled again, because there's this little piezo buzzer
[1727.84] Curry: to act as like a haptic thing.
[1729.2] Curry: And that had come out.
[1730.96] Curry: So I had a look at the interior.
[1733.12] Curry: It didn't look like an easy conversion to mode one.
[1735.44] Curry: I had to say the gimbals didn't quite look the same.
[1738.08] Curry: It's not like you could just swap things over easily.
[1741.12] AndyRC: So is it D16 and D8?
[1744.64] Curry: Yeah, it can even do D16, FCC and LBT and D8.
[1748.96] AndyRC: How does it do that with no screen as it got like you have to
[1752.64] AndyRC: as it let up see down see left see right see by.
[1757.04] Curry: At the back here, there's a bind button and a setup button.
[1760.0] Curry: If you just press bond on its own, it goes into bind mode.
[1762.64] Curry: If you press bind, whilst holding down the power button for a while and then you let go,
[1769.92] Curry: it changes as there's this little there's an LED here,
[1774.08] Curry: which goes it goes green when I turn on and it should hopefully go to blue.
[1777.76] Curry: That little purple flash there three flashes means it's D8.
[1781.36] Curry: One flash is D16 FCC two flashes D16 LBT.
[1786.16] Curry: So the setup options are a pain in the ass.
[1789.44] Curry: I will not lie to you there.
[1793.92] Curry: It was actually okay, the gimbals feel quite good that there was one of them
[1797.04] Curry: which was really flicking around on beta flight, which didn't want to center nicely.
[1801.52] Curry: But it didn't seem to have any drift issues. So not all bad.
[1805.68] AndyRC: Yeah, it looks interesting. Yeah.
[1809.28] AndyRC: I assumed it was just going to be a D8 transmitter.
[1812.72] Curry: But yeah, I think that first one was just a D8.
[1815.76] Curry: So they they've upped the game slightly on this one to make it more compatible.
[1819.92] AndyRC: I'd ask you what the range is like.
[1821.92] AndyRC: But I imagine you can you've gone.
[1823.68] Curry: It can go all the way from here to my garden.
[1825.92] Curry: Oh, God. That's all I've tested.
[1828.4] Curry: So I've only tested it on a WOOP obviously, because I haven't been out anywhere.
[1832.56] Curry: My problem is I still feel kind of locked down because where I sort of lost my fly field,
[1838.08] Curry: it was like 10 minutes away.
[1839.2] Curry: It's now like an hour's trench through the woods or after dry for like 40 minutes.
[1844.0] Curry: So I'm still sort of stuck inside to a great extent, unfortunately.
[1847.76] Curry: So yeah, I still want to do I've got a whole bunch of things building up now
[1851.92] Curry: that I'm like, Oh, once once lockdowns done, I'll have a look at this to see what
[1855.76] Curry: the range is like, to see what the flying is like.

[2045.97] Frank: So they've clarified that, yeah, they mean what it actually
[2049.81] Frank: weighs instead of because there was a big concern a few months ago that
[2055.89] Frank: technically the definitions that they'd used were maximum takeoff mass,
[2062.13] Frank: which is based on basically thrust rather than actual weight.
[2068.85] Frank: And therefore, you know, if you have a
[2072.29] Frank: like a toothpick that's got six kilos of thrust, then is that considered a six kilo model?
[2083.57] Frank: And they've clarified that if you built it yourself, then yeah, it doesn't matter
[2090.61] Frank: what it could be. It's what it actually is.
[2095.25] Frank: Which is what everyone kind of assumed anyway, but someone had gone, hold on.
[2099.33] Frank: There's a little detail there. It's a bit of an issue.
[2103.89] Curry: Yeah, somebody sounds like they're even more pedantic than me, because to me, it sounds like
[2109.25] Curry: what is the weight of your or the mass of your quad? I was like, well, it weighs this much.
[2114.37] Curry: Somebody's like, actually, I think what you mean is the thrust capacity.
[2119.89] Frank: And like, well, that was what it was. We all hate that guy.
[2122.93] Frank: Maximum takeoff mass. And maximum takeoff mass is a technical phrase that is used in lots of
[2131.01] Frank: technical documents. And therefore, based on the general aviation, maximum takeoff mass means the
[2137.97] Frank: maximum that that aircraft could be and still take off. So that's based on the thrust or the
[2147.89] Frank: structural integrity of the thing and not how much it actually weighs at the time. Because,
[2152.69] Frank: you know, if you put three tons on it and it still just gradually gets up in the air,
[2157.41] Frank: then it's still that is its maximum takeoff mass.
[2160.85] Curry: That is weird. It serves them right for trying to be clever with words instead of just saying
[2166.21] Curry: it can't weigh more than this.
[2167.81] Frank: Exactly. Yeah. Basically, someone has accidentally trodden on a kind of aviation
[2177.89] Frank: technical term landline. And we just mean the actual mass. Don't worry about it.
[2184.29] Curry: Did anything come of the fact that like, I remember the original definitions always said
[2190.77] Curry: the maximum, let's call it the maximum weight can be this much, not including the fuel. And we're
[2196.37] Curry: like, oh, LiPo is a fuel. It just says we can take the fuel out at the end of the flight.
[2202.93] Frank: Is that any clearer now? How much it actually weighs, then that's including the battery because
[2211.01] Frank: that's how much it weighs whilst it's flying. That means it's also going to include the fuel

[2515.71] Lee: amazing. It's just if you compare it to some of the really high end radios that you get your hands
[2520.03] Lee: on, it doesn't feel quite as nice. But actually, the black plastic, I think hides a multitude of
[2526.35] Lee: sins. I think it is a slightly nicer plastic, to be fair. But the big deal for me is that I mean,
[2531.87] Lee: is the bigger doobies at the back. It's it's not as nice for pinching. Oh, thanks.

[2576.51] AndyRC: the 18 is going to have the R nine chip in it. And I think that is a really big gamble,
[2582.51] AndyRC: considering how much the R nine hardware keeps changing. What do you think about that on the T
[2589.15] AndyRC: 18? Have you got some fish and fish and water? Yeah. For those who will listen on the podcast,
[2599.71] Lee: I've just done that whole curl lip thing. I'm not a fan of the R9M. I don't think it's a very good
[2604.99] Lee: system. I think for the money, it's not bad. But if you're trying to use it for serious long range,
[2609.55] Lee: I don't think it cuts the mustard. And that I haven't got the T 18. So I haven't got it yet.
[2616.43] Lee: The challenge. And interesting, the one I think the review sort of is turning into talking about
[2620.75] Lee: this bloody radio, which wasn't why I came on. But anyway, the it's a new bit of tech that's
[2625.71] Lee: come out. And it's one of the main bits of text. It's big news. Yeah, we have lots of big tech,
[2631.63] Lee: have we? So the inside of this, the big changes that have gone from the ribbon cables to proper
[2636.35] Lee: discrete connectors. And lots of people, including me, have had problem with the T 16,
[2642.59] Lee: because those ribbon cables get loose over time and come undone. And then you have whole sets of
[2648.35] Lee: switches that are on daughterboards stop working. These guys have kind of gone, that was a really
[2654.03] Lee: bad decision. And the internals a little bit better. So so so that there's kind of two
[2659.95] Lee: methodologies here between the radio master guys, and the jumper guys. The T 18, I think,
[2666.35] Lee: is really interesting for those who want to do on iron and stuff, but don't the module,
[2670.51] Lee: why not? You can if you're clever, you can use electronics within the antenna that essentially
[2678.03] Lee: make it appear longer for the on iron and lower wavelengths without having to have two antennas.
[2684.19] Lee: If you're a ham or amateur radio guy, you know what I'm talking about. But it's, it's, it's just
[2691.63] Lee: so exciting to have so much choice on radios like this. Because last time I was on, if you remember,
[2698.51] Lee: we were talking about you know, we're doing that whole back to the future thing. And we were
[2702.67] Lee: talking about the fact that you went here about the thing where we were saying, would you recommend
[2709.55] Lee: the free sky radios right now? And none of us would put our hands on our hearts and say, yeah,
[2714.51] Lee: we wholeheartedly would. Whereas two years ago, we probably would. It's kind of fun that we've got
[2720.51] Lee: choices. Because the other thing as well is this sucker will bind to free sky version one point x
[2727.79] Lee: receivers, and version 2.1. And later receivers. So that whole issue that free sky have introduced
[2734.11] Lee: by upgrading the firmware, which is, which doesn't work with the old stuff and the bind and fly
[2740.19] Lee: stuff. It doesn't matter if you have one of these, it works with both are tested, it works great.
[2745.47] Lee: So it's, yeah, how it how it survives in the field, day after day, month after month, I don't know.
[2755.23] Lee: But so far, we're not in a great position either. So so far. So good.
[2761.23] Curry: I thought free sky would try to lock people out with that version two. And that was
[2765.79] AndyRC: gonna know what I thought sky I tried, I tried so long to like, be on board with what they're
[2774.35] AndyRC: doing. But it just seems like they're digging their own grave now, doesn't it? You know?
[2780.67] Lee: Well, the whole thing with the free sky version two point x update the firmware is they were
[2785.07] Lee: addressing a dangerous bug that had happened to a number of pilots and actually more than you think
[2790.27] Lee: I did a poll on the channel, because I thought it was one of those things that they would kind of
[2793.87] Lee: know. So it's genuine, man. Yeah, yeah, there is a genuine, but about 5% of all the people who
[2799.31] Lee: responded to my poll said they had experienced the book. I've never seen it in five years of flying.
[2804.27] Lee: I don't know. What is the book then? So the book is that you see it more with LGBT rather than FCC,
[2812.67] Lee: and it can cause uncommanded extreme movements of the channel. So if that's connected to your
[2819.15] Lee: throttle or use a servo for a control or into your beats flight control, whatever it is,
[2824.35] Lee: it'll make the model do pretty horrific stuff. Now, so what free sky did is they went, okay,
[2830.03] Lee: we're going to fix this tick V good. And what they did is they fixed it. But in version 2.0,
[2835.07] Lee: the firm where they also introduced extra levels of encryption, which meant that it wouldn't work
[2840.59] Lee: and changed funds, a number of things fundamentally, again, this is my loose understanding,
[2846.27] Lee: which meant that it wouldn't bind or work to anything else. So if you upgraded your receivers
[2851.07] Lee: or one radio to the version 2.0 with the firmware, you had to upgrade everything. And that's the
[2857.31] Lee: thing that I had an issue with. It's like, hang on a minute. Why can we not have radios? Bearing
[2863.63] Lee: in mind that I've got one, I'm looking at the radio master that can do it. Why don't you give
[2867.95] Lee: us the option of having one or the other and be able to choose? Why not force us? Because the
[2874.67] Lee: the result of that change was that if you upgraded your radio to the version 2.0 with the firmware
[2880.75] Lee: to match the receivers to fix this issue, you then couldn't bind to all of these bind and fly,
[2886.11] Lee: tiny whoops, all these little quads that we get in. And if you got a quad in with an older version
[2894.03] Lee: of the firmware, you'd have to update it to version two to use it. And that just felt like
[2897.95] Jack: a really draconian way of handling the problem to me. What's going to happen with the stuff like
[2907.63] Jack: the stuff we've receivers built into it, like the SPL? All that won't work, probably.
[2917.07] Lee: Yeah, all that won't work. So you lose the ability to bind with all of that stuff, which is,
[2922.43] Lee: I think, I personally think that was potentially part of the FreeSky decision to do it because
[2929.63] Lee: that then limits all of these people that have cloned and copied the protocol that they have.
[2935.87] Lee: And it kind of shuts all that down. But the backlash, I think, has been so severe in the
[2940.59] Lee: 2.1 version of the firmware, they've removed some of that additional encryption and security.
[2946.27] Lee: So now if you use version 2.1, you can bind to it with things like these multi-protocol radios.
[2952.19] Lee: So you can do one or the other. But again, it was just a really weird way of doing it.
[2957.55] Lee: And it felt like they were trying to use a sledgehammer to crack a peanut and to penalize
[2962.51] Lee: all of us. If you're a new pilot and you've only got two quads, then updating it is a pain in the
[2968.99] Lee: arse, but it's no big deal. If you're like us, where you have multiple, maybe 20 receivers,
[2974.51] Lee: some of them are buried inside models or hot glued inside foam wings or God knows what else,
[2982.03] Lee: that is such a massive deal. Because as soon as you flash your radio,
[2985.31] Lee: you can't talk to all those older versions of the receivers that you've got buried away.
[2989.39] Jack: Yeah, I'm not looking forward to flashing like, you know, I think I've got like about five
[2995.79] Jack: D4R2s and, you know, and then God knows, two or three X4Rs. No, the X4Rs and the XDRs.
[3006.35] AndyRC: Yeah. If you don't update them, you cannot open TX all you want. Just don't update it. Basically,
[3016.59] Curry: you know, I've never had D4R2s on these and D8R2s, the old ones and all sorts.
[3025.71] Curry: Nothing's getting updated because I'm not digging those out of foam.
[3029.63] AndyRC: I'm glad that it is just the module actually, because I'm running a nightly
[3035.07] AndyRC: on my X9D. I really need to update it to the official open TX.

[3105.87] Lee: It seems to be progressing well. They've obviously changed the name so that if you Google for it,

[3117.31] Lee: the DJI HD system. It's very different from analog. I think it looks like it's an awful
[3124.03] Lee: lot more complimentary if you have analog pilots flying at the same time, which I'm excited about
[3131.31] Lee: because flying the DJI HD stuff with my mate means we have to try to be at polar opposite ends
[3136.51] Lee: of raceband to try and be out of each other's way. That's not always possible with all the kit we've
[3142.35] Lee: got, but it would be nice to have an HD system. I'd sacrifice a little bit of clarity for the HD
[3148.67] Lee: image for the ability to fly with two or three other mates on an analog system or maybe one or
[3154.75] Lee: two of them on the fat shark HD system as well. Just the ability to choose and just fly what you've
[3161.87] Lee: got rather than everyone have to do one or the other would just be so nice. I also think it's
[3167.39] AndyRC: going to look so much better through the HDO 2s than it will on a computer screen as well.
[3175.55] AndyRC: That's been my experience of the HDO 2s. I thought about because you can do the analog
[3184.43] AndyRC: mod with the DJI goggles. I did that and flew it for a bit and then went back to the HDO 2s.
[3192.67] AndyRC: When it comes to analog, it's got to be the HDO 2s. It'd be really interesting to see what that
[3198.83] AndyRC: shark bite looks like through those. We'll have to see how much they cost as well.
[3205.55] Curry: I think one of the things we talked about, potentially it was after hours we might not
[3209.47] Curry: talk about on the show is fat sharks seem to be using a quite unfortunate quad to demonstrate
[3215.71] Curry: that with. It was all over the place. In fact, that first video was taken down, wasn't it,
[3219.95] AndyRC: where Greg was flying. They did another video. The other video is much better. Some people just
[3238.27] AndyRC: love to hate this. One thing I don't like about the DJI thing coming out is these people that just
[3246.03] AndyRC: can't be open-minded and are just so one-track mind. It never even crossed my mind when the
[3252.91] AndyRC: DJI thing came out. Analog is dead. Of course, it's not dead. How can it? There are people like
[3258.99] AndyRC: that, unfortunately. I was impressed. I was intrigued. Anything that's new tech and different.
[3267.71] AndyRC: I've got the HDO 2s. I'd love to see what it is like. It needs competition as well. DJI,
[3278.51] AndyRC: if you look at their camera drones, they've always been complacent. They lead the camera drone
[3285.79] AndyRC: thing. When they bring out a new one, it's like, oh, they've changed the color. Oh,
[3290.59] AndyRC: it's got an extra sensor. Competition is good, I think.
[3299.15] Lee: I think you're right, Andy. I think the competition, having other systems, interestingly,
[3302.91] Lee: Connex pinged me about something that they've got going on. Having other HD systems just keeps
[3308.51] Lee: everybody on their toes and honest. I've got the DJI HD system as well now. I play with it. I've
[3315.71] Lee: just put it into the mini drag. That's hopefully going to be made next week. The really thing that
[3322.03] Lee: bugs me is why the hell didn't they do something like put a HDMI output on the goggles? It's really
[3329.15] Lee: basic stuff, this. It's just because you could argue that it locks you into that ecosystem a
[3337.23] Lee: little bit more because the only way you can get HDMI out of the HD system from DJI is to buy the
[3343.07] AndyRC: smart controller. It turns out that it actually needs a processing board. The DJI system doesn't
[3358.43] AndyRC: have HDMI out. It needs a separate processor to convert the signal into a picture. It was a
[3370.03] AndyRC: really bad choice. I think the DJI have got another monitor. I think it's called something
[3376.27] AndyRC: crystal or something like that. I know that there's no raw video coming out of that USB
[3388.03] AndyRC: connector on the DJI. It needs a processor to create the signal, which is very silly.
[3398.11] AndyRC: 600 quid for those smart controllers. That's really disappointing for the DJI. Hopefully,
[3405.55] AndyRC: they could come out with just a little box that processes the signal and you can just have HDMI
[3412.43] AndyRC: out. For now, I think they probably looked at their arsenal of products and thought,
[3419.15] AndyRC: oh, the smart controller has got this processor in it. We'll make it work with that first.
[3427.79] Lee: That's the information I was given. I was just disappointed. When they arrived,
[3432.03] Lee: I was unpacking them because every other set of goggles I've had for the past three years
[3436.83] Lee: have had a HDMI port out. They've had a HDMI port input actually, most of them. I'm looking
[3445.15] Lee: around thinking there's got to be an HDMI outright, surely, because how do I plug them
[3449.87] Lee: into my mate's goggles so he can see what I can see? The answer is, I can't. It was just like,
[3454.99] Lee: oh, you're joking. My mate has to stand there as I grin like an idiot flying an HD. He's got,
[3462.35] Lee: what's it like? I have to say, it's really, really clear. Then afterwards, I send him the link to
[3468.43] Lee: the YouTube video so we can see it. He goes, oh, it's lovely, won't it? The moment's lost. There's
[3472.99] Lee: none of that collaboration, unless he goes and spends 600 quid on set of his own goggles.
