[337.49] Tony: We're hopefully going to Martins to do the On the Line Challenge X-Class race, which is kind of weird.

[353.49] Tony: Everyone racing X-Class this year, we were supposed to be in California, I think.
[358.49] Tony: And we've all been sent a track to set up.
[361.49] Tony: So Martins mapped it out, all his land, set it up, cut the grass.

[372.49] Tony: But yeah, then we've got to race this track times and then send our times in.

[379.49] Tony: The weather looks pretty bad, so don't think it's going to happen.

[397.49] Frank: Yeah, I think that's the biggest news, isn't it?
[400.49] Frank: The TBS Tracer.
[403.49] Lee: TBS Tracer.
[404.49] Lee: So this was an interesting one, because TBS Tracer, I had probably a good...
[413.49] Lee: about two months ago, and Trappy shipped me the kit, and I was playing with it.
[418.49] Lee: And it just, as I said in the video, just kind of works.
[421.49] Lee: It's basically a 2.4 gig version of Crossfire, is really what it is.
[426.49] Lee: And I was just explaining before the stream started.
[430.49] Lee: So I did my flying, and I thought, okay, everyone is going to do their normal kind of, you know, videos about it.
[438.49] Lee: So I said to Trappy, can we do, like, an interview video?
[441.49] Lee: And I'll kind of go through all this stuff, because he'd mentioned loads of things as we'd been talking before and as I got the kit.
[449.49] Lee: And he'd mentioned some really good stuff, some of which he wasn't willing to repeat in public, some of which he was.
[454.49] Lee: So I said, right, the stuff that you've got to talk about in public, why don't we do an interview video?
[459.49] Lee: It'll be a different video from me just going, Tracer, brilliant, which everyone else does.
[465.49] Lee: We can actually talk about the specifics and some of the technology.
[469.49] Lee: So he said, yeah, that's great, that's great.
[471.49] Lee: So trying to be professional and organized, we did the video.
[475.49] Lee: So we did the whole thing, you know, recorded it, and I had to sit up and it sat there.
[479.49] Lee: And then he delayed the release.
[482.49] Lee: So two, three, four weeks went by.
[485.49] Lee: And I'm pinging him going, when's it coming out, mate?
[488.49] Lee: Because I'm still flying with it, and it's still working great.
[491.49] Lee: And eventually he came back and he went, we're going to have to remake the video.
[496.49] Lee: So much has changed in the last five weeks.
[500.49] Lee: I was like, oh, right.
[502.49] Lee: OK, so we did it again, which is the one that everyone saw.
[506.49] Lee: And then it kind of we had loads of questions about it.
[510.49] Lee: But it's really interesting because the Tracer kit, the Ghost and the FRM302 stuff from FlySky,
[519.49] Lee: that we suddenly had this flurry of 2.4 gig radio systems.
[523.49] Lee: I know Curry was really funny.
[525.49] Lee: He mentioned on one of the one of the videos, it was like, you know, what a year 2020 is, you know,
[531.49] Lee: long range systems are now 2.4.
[534.49] Lee: And it is, it was really odd.
[536.49] Lee: It kind of all came around because there's these, I think, are the Centec chips.
[541.49] Lee: There's two Centec chips, LoRa based chips.
[544.49] Lee: Well, they're not LoRa based.
[545.49] Lee: There's actually several RF functions, one with LoRa anyway.
[548.49] Lee: But they would have been around for ages.
[550.49] Lee: And the FRM302 from FlySky uses that chip.
[552.49] Lee: The Ghost uses that chip.
[554.49] Lee: And Trappie is still being super evasive over whether or not they use the same chip in their system, the Tracer.
[564.49] Lee: So Pavel Spikowski, I know you've had Pavel on.
[568.49] Lee: Pavel and I were actually at one point trying to trace the tracks on the receiver.
[574.49] Lee: The chip is the packaging on the chip.
[578.49] Lee: Because talking to Trappie is going, no, it's not LoRa, it's different.
[581.49] Lee: And actually, the same chip can operate in three different modes.
[585.49] Lee: And that might be what he's taught.
[587.49] Lee: I think he's being deliberately evasive because he doesn't want to give away any kind of secrets of what they're doing.
[593.49] Lee: Yeah, exactly right.
[595.49] Lee: Which is infuriating for me because I do actually want to know what he's doing, but he's dancing.
[601.49] Lee: But the chip on all the Tracer stuff has had the numbers burnt off.
[606.49] Lee: Ooh, wow.
[608.49] Lee: So that immediately made it.
[611.49] Lee: So Pavel and I worked it out.
[613.49] Lee: And it looks pin-compatible with the same syntax, but I'd said to Trappie, so is it these chips?
[620.49] Lee: And he came back and he went, well, there's lots of other chips that are pin-compatible with that packaging.
[626.49] Lee: And I was just like, OK, we're not going to get the answer, are we?
[629.49] Lee: So we've had a couple of goes with it.
[631.49] Lee: But actually, it just works.
[635.49] Lee: It's one of those really boring systems as a reviewer because you just snap it in the back.
[639.49] Lee: The Lua script works.
[642.49] Lee: Thank you, Double-A. That's really kind.
[643.49] Lee: It's one of those weird things that Trappies are one of those guys in TBSs.
[649.49] Lee: It's one of those subjects.
[650.49] Lee: I'm sure, Andy, you get it as well.
[652.49] Lee: When you do a video on one of those outfits that has a really strong polarizing effect.
[658.49] Lee: So people like Fat Shark, TBS, DJI Kit, you tend to get an element that you get the fanboy element,
[666.49] Lee: which are all like, yeah, it's the answer.
[670.49] Lee: And then you have the other end of the spectrum, which are all the haters.
[676.49] Lee: And you get this really weird polarizing effect.
[678.49] Lee: You can do a video on a flying wing or a model or a quad or whatever, and you get a general, you know,
[685.49] Lee: there's lots of shades of gray.
[687.49] Lee: With those kind of people like Trappie in particular, you have this really polarizing effect.
[694.49] Lee: It does seem to be, you know, you either love him or hate him.
[697.49] Lee: It's like, you know, the Marmite, Vegemite characters in the hobby.
[701.49] Lee: So you tend to attract this really weird reaction, similar to the one that I got with the Fat Shark stuff,
[709.49] Lee: the new HD stuff, the Shark Bite, is it?
[713.49] Lee: I still want to call it bite frost, because I keep doing that.
[717.49] Lee: I keep doing that.
[718.49] Lee: I had to redo the video twice because when I was editing it, I'd be like that, talking about it.
[725.49] Lee: I'd call it the wrong name.
[729.49] Lee: And it was when I was editing, I'd be like, ah, I've done it again.
[734.49] Lee: I mean, but this is an interesting thing.
[737.49] Lee: It's really funny that everyone's comparing it to DGI, and I don't think it bears comparison with DGI.
[743.49] Lee: The fact that people are even talking about it in the same terms as DGI.
[747.49] Lee: Greg at Fat Shark is over the moon about.
[749.49] Lee: He's doing his Snoopy Happy dance, because in his eyes, it's not a competitor for DGI.
[758.49] Lee: And it's amazing how many pundits came out with this stuff and did the, ah, you know, it's not DGI.
[767.49] Lee: And you know what, it's not.
[769.49] Lee: It's not.
[770.49] Lee: We don't know what it's going to cost.
[772.49] Lee: The performance is interesting.
[774.49] Lee: The performance is, you know, it's using the same kind of frequencies as analog does.
[782.49] Lee: Latency is about, from what I've been playing with here, about 15, 16, 17 milliseconds-ish.
[790.49] Lee: So it's not horrific.
[792.49] Lee: You know, most races would probably be, you know, you're rolling the rise at that kind of latency, but that's not bad.
[799.49] Lee: It's, you know, if you run a DGI system, that's not ridiculous.
[805.49] Lee: The power levels are interesting.
[808.49] Lee: The distance is, because of course we can only test it at 25 milliwatts legally here in the UK, can't we, everybody?
[815.49] Lee: Yes.
[816.49] Lee: I'll nod with me.
[818.49] Lee: Yes, Lee, we can't.
[821.49] Lee: So I'm going to be doing a video, and that's probably the first video I'll do with it.
[824.49] Lee: But the range is surprise, surprise with this system and a comparable analog system on the same power levels.
[832.49] Lee: It's about the same.
[834.49] AndyRC: Yeah, I was going to say, Lee, do you think this is going to be, is this them boxing out analog?
[842.49] AndyRC: Will this, do you know what I mean?
[844.49] AndyRC: Is that we've got the DGI thing.
[846.49] AndyRC: We've got the fact shock.
[848.49] AndyRC: Is there, is this an attempt to get rid of analog?
[852.49] AndyRC: Because that's what I watch.
[854.49] AndyRC: I can't remember the chap's name, but he's a friend of Greg's and he seemed to be very happy that we can do away with analog.
[860.49] AndyRC: Now, I don't think that's the case.
[862.49] Lee: Personally, I don't think the cat, I think, you know, a lot of people were jumping up and down and talking about the fact that it was a red cat who put all the money into fact shock somebody that whatever it was several weeks ago and never almost jump around.
[877.49] Lee: And it's the end of fact shock, fact shock dead.
[880.49] Lee: And it was like, OK, well, actually, there's loads of analog vendors out there who would love fact shock to sod off and leave a big gap in the market.
[889.49] Lee: All the sky zones and the East and everybody else, right, would just run into and desperately try and kill each other to get to the spot that fact shock has.
[900.49] Lee: So even if you took fact shock out as an analog goggle manufacturer, it wouldn't stop analog doing it because actually with analog, I mean, you know, OK, who's got the DJI system in here?
[913.49] Lee: Because I know, Andy, you have, I have.
[915.49] Lee: Oh, I was three.
[916.49] Lee: So only have right. OK, OK.
[918.49] Lee: So so that that's the poor side.
[920.49] Lee: So so so those guys have tried it out.
[925.49] Lee: So so if you try the DJI system and let's assume that everyone has for the moment and if we ever get together, obviously, Andrew and, you know, Brighton, you can have a go.
[939.49] Lee: But but once you've done the DJI system, you are spoiled a little bit because if you if I go to the field and I start with analog, I'm quite happy until I put the DJI stuff on.
[950.49] Lee: You think, oh, that's that's a bit that's quite a lot clearer. I like that. And then it's only when you go back to analog that you think, holy crap.
[958.49] Lee: And then you realize the drop.
[960.49] Lee: And the thing is with this is that this isn't this is a whole goggle system.
[967.49] Lee: So the image that you get in your goggles only depends on the resolution.
[971.49] Lee: So if you have an old pair of dominator twos, which, right, which are great goggles for analog, if you if you try and display a 720p image on those panels, it's going to look crap.
[985.49] Lee: Doesn't matter, right? Because that's the resolution. If you got something like a modern set of HDOs, HDO twos, then it's it looks a lot better.
[995.49] Lee: Is it DJI quality? No.
[1001.49] Lee: Does it work in a different way? Yeah, completely. You know, there's some cute there's some cute stuff in it.
[1007.49] Lee: And, you know, I'm going to continue to fly and play around with it. I actually have put it on a quad.
[1013.49] Lee: And so as apologies for everybody, because the way I've mounted, this is horrific.
[1017.49] Lee: But this is this was my this is my test rig. So just just live with it.
[1021.49] Lee: Seven inch Lee. Why, thank you. Yes.
[1028.49] AndyRC: It's the way I'm sat. So that is the way my trousers have just wrapped up.
[1039.49] Lee: There we go. Jack, we managed 19 minutes without you.
[1049.49] Lee: So yes, it is a seven inch. Well spotted. I like I like seven inches.
[1055.49] Lee: They they feel better.
[1059.49] Tony: Someone sound cut that.
[1063.49] Lee: So you know what? That might be a thing from a patron. He's just a whole lot of sound.
[1069.49] Lee: So it's it's not it's mounted on the top. I know it's a terrible place to put it.
[1073.49] Lee: And but the thing is, with these units, you have to have a little bit of space on top.
[1078.49] Lee: But I've only put it on here because I want to put it on a wing and fly it on the A.R. wing, which we'll talk about in a minute.
[1085.49] Lee: But the danger with a wing is if you're flying out of range and you suddenly start to lose range, whereas with the quads,
[1092.49] Lee: you can kind of, you know, break and stop and come back with a wing you kind of committed.
[1098.49] Lee: So if it flies out of range, you kind of you kind of got to hit your return to home or try and bank it and bring it back in a range.
[1105.49] Lee: So so no, no, it's what I'm glad.
[1110.49] Lee: I'm glad everyone picked up on it as we were doing the bottom jokes.
[1113.49] Lee: So so I as a system, I quite like it. It's it's going to be interesting how it all works out.
[1121.49] Lee: I'm glad they brought it out because when Fat Shark were bought by Red Cat, is it Red Cat?
[1127.49] Lee: I want to call it Red Hat because that's a Linux thing.
[1134.49] Lee: But but when they would do it, I kind of speak into the guys at Fat Shark.
[1139.49] Lee: And I said, you know, the easiest way for you to shut up all the detractors out there who were saying it's the end of Fat Shark is to bring out a new product.
[1151.49] Lee: And they and they kind of have it's just a shame it's still not final, final.
[1156.49] Lee: It's a shame the VTX is a bit smaller. The VTX runs incredibly hot.
[1162.49] AndyRC: I was a bit confusedly because haven't didn't get FPV sells a load for I'm making this up for like two hundred and fifty dollars.
[1171.49] Lee: I'm not making that up. No, they sold. It's the same deal.
[1175.49] Lee: So it's the same kind of thing that they did with the original, whatever it's called.
[1181.49] Lee: Yeah. You see, now I'm overcorrecting myself. I have to. There we go. Bite for us. Bite for us. Yeah.
[1186.49] Lee: Yeah. There it is. That's the one that I pulled out of the unit.
[1190.49] Lee: The really interesting thing about this and the thing that I might be that I think might be a game changer for Shark is something that I didn't think we could talk about yet.
[1199.49] Lee: The person who's been testing it has basically been posting on everybody's.
[1203.49] Lee: So you had to actually look what the name was that I couldn't remember by shark by system that can remember.
[1211.49] Lee: He's been so so there is as well as that VTX unit, there's another smaller version, which is small enough to go on a week.
[1220.49] Lee: That'd be game changing, wouldn't it? And that's a twenty five two hundred milliwatt unit.
[1225.49] Lee: Now, if if they at the moment that's been tested and it's working very well.
[1230.49] Lee: And again, I didn't think we could talk about that, but he's been posting everywhere about it.
[1234.49] Lee: So I haven't let the cat out of that bag. But imagine having a whoop with that kind of system on it.
[1242.49] Lee: That's something you can't do with GGI.
[1244.49] Lee: You know, so it might be a system for other places where you're not going to use analog or and you're not going to use DGI.
[1251.49] Lee: So be interesting. See, I've got I've got the HDO to use.
[1256.49] AndyRC: And when I saw two hundred and fifty dollars, OK, let's convert that 250 pounds.
[1262.49] AndyRC: You've already got the HDO to. That's quite attractive, isn't it?
[1266.49] AndyRC: I was even thinking, you know, yeah, I could pick I could pick that up.
[1271.49] AndyRC: It's just whether this I think the thing that cements DGI, it's the fact that like people are creating Bynum flies and putting it in it.
[1281.49] AndyRC: And I think if we see that with this shock by the thing, then that that's when it that's when you kind of know it's become a thing, isn't it?
[1289.49] AndyRC: When people go to start making frames for it, they start.
[1293.49] AndyRC: And that's when I'm thinking, like, maybe I need to maybe I need to get this.
[1298.49] Lee: Yeah, I think that would that would be for me, the bit where I would feel that that was the tipping point that starts to become more mainstream.
[1309.49] Lee: The receiver unit itself is a little it's 80 grams, which doesn't sound like a lot, but it's quite a little bit of weight stuck at the front of the goggles.
[1318.49] Lee: If you're not if you're used to wearing the DGI goggles, which are quite a lot bigger, then you kind of use that weight on your head.
[1325.49] Lee: But you're going to need an upgraded strap on your on your goggles really for them.
[1330.49] Lee: But it's yeah, I think it's one of those that we've just got to watch and see how it actually works.
[1336.49] Lee: It's got me interested for sure. Yeah.
[1339.49] Lee: Lots of the videos that I watched when it first came out because my my units were typically stuck in customs.
[1347.49] Lee: It's one of those, you know, you love those, Andy, don't you?
[1349.49] Lee: Where you get the little letters from customs. Yeah, absolutely.
[1355.49] Lee: You love that whole stuff. And unfortunately, it meant that mine was about three or four days later than everyone else's, which meant that everyone else has already made their videos.
[1366.49] Lee: And a lot of them were basically going, ah, it's not DGI. And you kind of go, no, it's not DGI.
[1373.49] Lee: If it was DGI, it would have a DGI logo on it. It's something else.
[1378.49] Lee: And I think that I think there's a sliding scale where one and two is crappy analog that we're all flying seven, eight years ago.
[1384.49] Lee: We're really crappy cameras, you know, average single channel receivers.
[1390.49] Lee: Then, you know, three or four on the scale from one to ten is modern analog FPV with high end cameras from run camera.
[1397.49] Lee: Fox here, really good diversity receivers from people like Immersion RC and others and good goggles like your HDOs, your O3Os, your whatevers, you know.
[1409.49] Lee: And then you've got kind of at the other end of the spectrum, you've got kind of at the nine or ten is DGI kit.
[1414.49] Lee: I think the big question is where on that scale does this put you with a half decent set of goggles?

[1427.49] Frank: As Tony has shown, there's, you know, DGI system isn't perfect.
[1432.49] Frank: Like, if you have two of you flying a bit close together, you can suddenly have a lock up and fall out of the sky.
[1439.49] Frank: I don't know how I haven't, I guess, not enough people have been flying for long enough on the short bite to really know that if you lose signal with the short bite
[1451.49] Frank: and then you come back in range because it's got the kind of blocky breakup, analog skewing morphism thing going on.
[1460.49] Frank: But is that enough to not completely lock you out?
[1464.49] Tony: I think I think it does come back because I've watched a bit of Bardwell and he drove up on his tractor.
[1472.49] Tony: And it went completely and then he turned his head or faced the goggles back towards it and it come back on pretty instant.
[1480.49] Tony: So, yeah, not like the DGI, which took more than 20 seconds.
[1485.49] AndyRC: Grumpy FPV has got a very good point here, I think.

[1527.49] Lee: If they can only afford 120 quid and they get some cheap box goggles, a cheap BTX camera and they're flying and enjoying it, you know what?

[1600.49] Lee: The way that the DGI system and interestingly, SharkBite, get it right.
[1607.49] Lee: I should have had a drink, shouldn't I? I never taught every time again.
[1613.49] Lee: The way that SharkBite works is that the the the eight channels that it's mapped to are basically raceband.
[1621.49] Lee: Some of them are not exactly raceband, but they're pretty close.
[1625.49] Lee: The interesting thing is the DGI system also pretty much uses raceband.
[1629.49] Lee: The weird thing is, is that I think channels seven and eight are swapped.
[1633.49] Lee: Interestingly, it looks if you look at the channel assignments again, we're getting quite deep into this now.
[1639.49] Lee: I'm not talking about this in the videos yet.
[1641.49] Lee: So everyone is watching when they talk about when I do this bit on the video, as you can go.
[1645.49] Lee: Yeah, I can fast forward.
[1647.49] Lee: I'm LDO, but seven and eight are turned around on the DGI system.
[1652.49] Lee: So it doesn't match raceband completely.
[1654.49] Lee: Unfortunately, these boys have done the same thing.
[1657.49] Lee: But if you look at how much of the band it's using around that central point, it's a digital system, right?
[1666.49] Lee: Whereas the DGI system uses a little bit more bandwidth, and that's because it's a bidirectional system.
[1672.49] Lee: It's sending telemetry down from the model to the goggles and it's sending RC information up through the link as well, which is why you can use the controller.
[1683.49] Lee: This is a one-way FPV system.
[1687.49] Lee: So it's only one way from the model down to the goggles.
[1691.49] Lee: There isn't a bidirectional link.
[1694.49] Lee: So in terms of how much bleed you get each side of each channel, it is actually a lot less.
[1700.49] Lee: I'm trying to figure out a way to show that.
[1703.49] Lee: And what I'm thinking is maybe, you know, like the band scanner that you get on like Fusion and the things like that,
[1711.49] Lee: is maybe try and show the peaks.
[1713.49] AndyRC: Yeah, I've done that.
[1715.49] AndyRC: I actually did it with the DGI.
[1717.49] AndyRC: And, you know, when Tony was getting the...

[1723.49] AndyRC: If you fly with other people, 50 megabits out of the question, because it uses a separate channel.

[1730.49] AndyRC: But I've had a look at the DGI thing on the normal one, and it actually takes up about the same as analog.
[1739.49] AndyRC: Like when you look at the spike through a spectrum analyzer, would that be the right word? Yeah.

[1745.49] AndyRC: Yeah, so I only fly... 50 megabit is amazing.

[1750.49] AndyRC: I prefer I'd rather fly with friends than use 50 megabits.

[2050.49] Lee: I actually think it was because it was about air flow, modern FPV.

[2061.49] Lee: Having the wings come off was a big thing of mine as well.

[2100.49] Lee: And usually the first version is a bit cheap.
[2103.49] Lee: So you have to do two or three version.
[2105.49] Lee: Each mold is like 70 to $120,000 to make.
[2109.49] Lee: It's ridiculous.

[2111.49] Lee: so there was one point where they were just going to add wings onto the
[2116.49] Lee: existing AR wing.
[2119.49] Lee: And then one day I get some pictures from them with this thing in it,
[2127.49] Lee: which is all, it's all like 3d models.
[2129.49] Lee: And I was kind of going, what's that?
[2132.49] Lee: And they went, Oh, it's the new AR wing pro.
[2135.49] Lee: And I was like, is it?
[2136.49] Lee: Okay.
[2137.49] Lee: So, so we started looking at it and working through it.
[2141.49] Lee: And, and then eventually we were getting ready.
[2145.49] Lee: Then new year happened Chinese new year,
[2148.49] Lee: which turned into Chinese new never,

[2300.49] Lee: The reason it was like that was because literally arrived and solid model

[2369.49] Lee: Cause I won't release mine until you've done yours.

[2383.49] Lee: So the, so the way the wings available now,

[2395.49] Lee: uh, the cruise is only about five, six amps with a 7,000 milliamp power
[2400.49] Lee: lithium ion pack in here. You can get the best part of an hour's flying.

[2406.49] Lee: I mean, I've got my, as you can see at the moment,
[2409.49] Lee: it's still got the DJI system on the front and flying it with a DJI system is,

[2418.49] Lee: Put it on 16 nine and it is, it is fantastic.

[2424.49] Lee: I fitted a folding prop.

[2428.49] Lee: my bike over there, uh, because, because the bottoms are flat.

[2432.49] Lee: if you don't have the folding prop on and you don't have the brake on, uh,

[2437.49] AndyRC: My, uh, my friend Phil texts me, uh, and I woke up to this text and it said,

[2462.49] Jack: When you landed, I was surprised it wasn't like a bobsled.
[2466.49] Lee: Well, this was the funny thing when I was, so the,
[2468.49] Lee: the story with this is, um, lockdown happened on Thursday.
[2472.49] Lee: Uh, I'm trying to respect the lockdown and also my wife's a teacher.
[2475.49] Lee: So we are being particularly careful about who we, um,
[2479.49] Lee: interact with because being a teacher,
[2482.49] Lee: is interacting with literally hundreds and hundreds of families by proxy of
[2487.49] Lee: the kids. So, uh, we are trying to be careful anyway.
[2491.49] Lee: So the Wednesday was the last day and, uh, uh, a local guy,
[2496.49] Lee: a guy called Adam who very kindly said, look, I'm, I'm local.
[2499.49] Lee: I'll come and help you. I was like, brilliant. Okay.
[2501.49] Lee: Wednesday was literally the one day in between this rainstorm finishing and
[2506.49] Lee: the next rainstorm starting in the bloody North, which, so, um,
[2510.49] Lee: I said, great. I'll meet you at this field.
[2512.49] Lee: Last time I was at the field was a week before the corn was still in there.
[2516.49] Lee: And I was thinking about the land is going to be a bit tricky cause I'm
[2519.49] Lee: literally going to have to bring it down the, uh,
[2521.49] Lee: cause those of you that have watched some of my maiden videos,
[2523.49] Lee: you've probably seen that corn grow over the year. Um, and it was,
[2528.49] Lee: I thought it was going to be a bit muddy. I'll set my wellies, uh,
[2530.49] Lee: but it'll be fine. Anyway, we turns up.
[2533.49] Lee: I looked over the fence and it is,
[2535.49] Lee: it just looks like the battle of the song has happened.
[2539.49] Lee: The word water. And then Adam turns up and I was just like,
[2544.49] Lee: would we've got no other choice.
[2546.49] Lee: It's either now or we don't do this thing.
[2549.49] Lee: So I'm thinking the law that the launch is going to be all right. Right.
[2552.49] Lee: Cause I'm using, I now have also launched and that'll do all the hard work.
[2555.49] Lee: So I'm not worried about that. It's got plenty of power.
[2557.49] Lee: The landing is going to be exciting. So, um, and of course with a maiden,
[2561.49] Lee: you don't know how floaty the wing is. So as I brought it in,
[2564.49] Lee: I'm thinking, right, I need to be reasonably low cause I don't want to,
[2568.49] Lee: you know, kind of overshoot. And somebody mentioned on the sonic, um,
[2573.49] Lee: uh, model for, and they said, all that landing was a bit sketchy.
[2576.49] Lee: I said, no, it wasn't sketchy. What I was doing,
[2578.49] Lee: I was trying to miss all of the mud and literally land in the verge at the
[2583.49] Lee: side, which I did. And, and, and the wing was so felt so good,
[2588.49] Lee: even though it was a maiden, I could literally just cut the engine, saw,
[2592.49] Lee: and kind of, it was only about 20 feet away. Um, and then,
[2596.49] Lee: and then the guy who, who came and did the maiden did a flight and landed it
[2600.49] Lee: even closer. It was absolutely brilliant. So, uh, so no, it,
[2604.49] Lee: it was less than ideal. And in any of the circumstances,
[2607.49] Lee: I'd have been like, no, sack this, we'll go and find somewhere else.
[2610.49] Lee: But it was like, this is the one shot that we've got to do this.
[2614.49] Lee: Although I don't think we actually legally, you know,
[2617.49] Lee: we don't have to not go out and fly. Um, I,
[2621.49] Lee: I will probably be doing the maiden of the other thing I want to talk about.

[2735.49] Lee: stuff on the top. Um, and this is, this is actually the, you know,
[2738.49] Lee: the, the stuff that they put on cars, that, that wrap material.
[2742.49] Lee: Yeah. Yeah. That's what that is. Don't be fooled. It's not carbon fiber. Um,
[2747.49] Lee: but it does look absolutely awesome.

[2758.49] Lee: the laminating film is the stuff that you iron and it's,

[2770.49] Lee: you just put it on like it would any kind of vinyl, you know,
[2773.49] Lee: you just started one edge and work your way along. Um, but, uh,

[2780.49] Lee: I'm interested because it's not everyone looks at this and says, oh, it's a,
[2784.49] Lee: it's a, it's a drag. Um,
[2787.49] Lee: and I get why you think that because I thought that when I first saw it,
[2790.49] Lee: but now having built it, it is nothing like a drag.
[2794.49] Lee: It might have to resemble a drag in terms of the layout.
