[17.7] Jack: Sam dama like he dread on with the show. [53.51] Jack: Hello and welcome back to another episode of let's try it out tonight wonderful lovely or great i thought is trying to remember which particular show this was that he was doing. [69.03] Jack: Enduring six three hundred and four isn't it three hundred and four. [76.65] Jack: And we're joined by our lord of master andrew slash frank hello everyone's favorite little munchkin bonjour that'd be me i'll take it yep and i'm bright until the fly hello and welcome back if we run out to talk about we'll just donate ourselves to like fireworks. [102.41] Frank: Just space them out one at a time. [104.79] Jack: Wait until it goes out and then like the next one. [111.67] Jack: Look how standard that is. [114.59] Jack: Two day old donuts and not good. [117.51] Jack: You should have microwaved them. [120.35] Jack: Oh yeah i've heard about that. [124.03] Tony: 10 minutes in the morning i mean 10 seconds in the microwave. [131.39] Frank: More fireworks that's what you're looking for isn't any. [134.31] Tony: Those at wings and wheels saturday richard warrick has just shown i'll be there on saturday i'm going up tomorrow. [144.55] Tony: I think i'm going up Saturday we're meeting at half five at the bar the foot is three o'clock now it was five 30 at the bar. [155.71] Tony: I got that wrong you have i've got it right if someone like tells me the time to meet me at a bar i know exactly. [164.55] Frank: What time it is sorry it's five 30 everyone no five 30 i put it in my calendar 530 meet up outside beer tents if you want to apologize now i'll take it if you want to apologize i apologize. [180.45] Frank: Immensely right now easily the the notification i had in my calendar for three o'clock at wings and wheels which remind me to buy some debt from cuz i'm getting a laser cutter on monday. [195.41] Frank: Is that happening it's well it's been booked in to be delivered so we'll see. [203.79] Jack: Can i bring some flight test phone and send you a file. [209.62] Frank: Maybe give me give me a week to make sure i've i've got everything sorted. [220.54] Tony: Caroline says that i'm there sunday the weather keeps looking worse and worse yeah it does but i've come saturday i was literally getting five 30 on saturday i was literally not gonna go but i'm gonna go we're going up tomorrow i think danny boy's follow me up. [234.98] Tony: Which is gonna pitch our tents and do our stuff and just in and out of rain who cares it happens just gonna make the most of a soggy wet weekend i think that. [248.8] Tony: At least we get to say hello to people in the chat cuz there'd be people there that we've seen in the chat and we're actually gonna meet them for real so that'd be quite cool. [259.1] Frank: caroline was asking if it's a laser cutter or a dodgy chinese engraver it's going to be at least 80 watts I can't remember if we paid for the upgrade but it's at least 80 watts. [275.02] Frank: So what's what what's the upgrade. [278.06] Frank: You well i mean you can buy different tubes so it could be like a hundred watts could be 130 watts you could get more out of a glass co2 laser tube but then you have to have a bigger chiller to go with it and control or possibly i don't remember how big a controller is but yes it's a co2 laser. [299.62] Frank: With a big load of mirrors and lenses and things and i'm looking forward to having something to play with again that isn't just typing on the keyboard can you engrave stuff like glass probably cool will you can you laser my hand i mean it won't be much of a hand at the end of it but yeah. [329.82] Tony: How powerful is it like when it disintegrate my hand or could i just burn the top layer of flesh. [341.06] Frank: So if it's 80 what then you can probably i can probably get it down to about 10 what's any less than that it's going to be in the pre ionization zone and it's not going to do anything good. [353.82] Tony: So there is a minimum that will be running at an eight watts is what do you want to get lasered so much what is wrong with your questions cool tech and i just want to see if it works if i could get a lasered ldo on something. [376.5] Jack: Just get an actual tattoo and surely that would be easier. [380.78] Tony: That won't come off. [385.86] Tony: will heal heal. [388.18] Jack: If well, I mean, when you have it ldo lasered off then you'll have a burn there. [395.42] Tony: I don't want to say the thing ldo like that is that you want a scar. [401.22] Tony: Well, it won't work well I don't really well I bruise easily I don't scar. [407.14] Tony: That bad should be all right. [409.78] Frank: If you fire. [411.78] Frank: eight watts of laser into it, I think you'll probably scar. [415.82] Frank: Well. [419.3] Frank: clamp your hand down so you don't move. [423.3] Tony: Screaming like a girl. [425.1] Frank: yeah. [429.14] Frank: Jack's got something that will you know. [431.98] Frank: make it less. [433.82] Jack: I have got that Chinese engraver. [436.46] Jack: But I still don't want to stick my hand. [439.38] Tony: I know exactly what you're thinking about. [441.94] Tony: I think there'd be some there'd be some paraphernalia in his box of stuff to give [449.78] Jack: me I am I did my first 3d print the other day Frank congratulations what did you [457.42] Tony: print now Jack he keeps these things very quiet I know I keep keep quiet about what [465.34] Jack: I've been up to all my little test prints and everything and then I printed an [470.26] Jack: adapter for an alien and it is see it's it's right in there see that green bit [477.94] Jack: there oh yeah is that for the wolf pdb yeah the little impulse adapter what does it [485.14] Jack: mean and I've done all the little tests yeah here's my 3d printer and I did not [493.74] Jack: have a clue what I was doing the whole jury that's cute that's what is it [499.98] Jack: it's a fabrication too many it's the the turn the G thing right you said yes yeah turn [507.34] Tony: the G yeah so easy to set up and do I've always wanted a printer but I know I'll [511.82] Jack: lob it out my window yeah I got there at one point at 3 a.m. where I just wanted to [520.3] Jack: kick the whole the whole like leveling the bed with a bit of paper is completely [526.62] Frank: one more really it's not complete bollocks you're just doing it wrong all right well you [531.9] Jack: level to the head didn't you but then that's what she said then you need to figure out the [538.78] Jack: size of the paper to actually make it go to zero no because well if you if you're [548.14] Frank: excluding stuff out of it you you if you put it right on the bed then there's nowhere for [554.22] Frank: the plastic to come out you need it slightly higher than the bed and that's why you do like [558.94] Frank: a raft or whatever right you can get away without it but yeah but yeah you don't want [568.54] Frank: it actually squishing itself onto the plate yeah you want you want a little a tiny little [575.18] Frank: there's a little bit of a gap for it to slice a paper thin gap for it to squish the plastic [579.42] Jack: out into hmm okay feel engaged to take yourself now paper okay I've had a 3d printer for years [590.78] Jack: great way to waste pla yep frank the voice of reason maybe I shouldn't get one and carry on [601.18] Frank: asking people to print stuff for me I mean to be fair I've got one over there that I [608.78] Frank: am still trying to find the time to spend tuning it to get it to the point where I'm happy with it [615.5] Frank: because it does print but I'm just like it's not it's not good enough there's a big one isn't it [622.22] Frank: is one axis well not anymore like it does now print like it's accurate it's reasonably precise [634.62] Frank: but it's just the surface finish is just not not there so is this from years of sls [642.94] Frank: frank being like maybe but it's also because nj showed me photos of what he's getting on his [650.38] Frank: machines I'm like well now I can't print anything without getting it at least to that point but [656.62] Frank: that seems actually quite hard yeah but you're the printer lad you should be yeah the problem [664.62] Frank: is I have picked a printer that is that there isn't a whole lot of experience with because it's [671.82] Frank: early dev yeah you got the nyomi woowoo I did get the nyomi woowoo one the 3d print melt so it's got [683.42] Frank: a belt that it prints on like the old uh make about thingamatic which is what I started out on [692.06] Frank: it was my first 3d printer to play with um and it's at 45 degrees so it's kind of always [700.86] Frank: printing on a tilt so you could print you know end up printing the whole wingspan of a wing [710.38] Frank: all in one go potentially that's what I'm looking for but yeah I thought 3d printers would be good [718.24] Tony: for like if you broke something off you know and knob off your hoover and stuff you could just [723.2] Tony: like literally go on Dyson's website and go oh I need that bit well don't do that do they so no [731.68] Frank: this is what a company should do this though yeah this this would be a good repair thing [736.96] Frank: would be like if you don't if you're not selling the parts you should have to release the files [745.04] Tony: for people to print them I've got a freezer and I've did the it's got a plastic little [751.52] Tony: shut and it just snapped because it got so brittle because it's obviously cold [756.56] Tony: and it'd be great just to print that little catch because it's only a little bit of plastic [761.68] Tony: and if they just sent that so you could just print it out and do it yourself that's what I [765.6] Tony: thought 3d printing was all going to be about but it's not is it it's just not well the problem is [772.08] Frank: that however good your 3d printer is it's only going to do what you've got a file for [779.76] Frank: and you know the you know I think that has been what has caused 3d printers to really take off [786.16] Frank: is that there is more usable and freely available software to actually make stuff you know [793.6] Frank: there's the fusion 360 it's a big one there's the um tinker pad stuff like that um but you know [803.36] Frank: I I taught like eight year olds within a couple of days how to use tinker pad to make things [810.64] Frank: to print like I reckon you could do stuff on tinker pad Tony in four days [817.76] Tony: I don't know where that was going [822.08] Jack: in he could be worse could have gone like in five [827.52] Frank: thanks rag yeah um so you know but there is that and that's but it's there's still an element [836.56] Frank: you've got to be able to measure stuff and work out what shape it is because that's as stupid as [843.04] Frank: that sounds that's actually not that simple like if you've got a shape in front of you [848.8] Frank: how do I make that shape is actually a skill that you know scan it actually learned through [854.4] Jack: like three years of degree not like break it up into break it up into simple shapes and measure [862.48] Frank: from there well yeah exactly and it's you know where are you going to need to for example a [869.2] Frank: lego brick however much you measure a lego brick you're not going to be able to print something [873.44] Frank: that works as well as a lego brick as an actual lego brick because the precision is in molding a [882.0] Frank: lego brick is like insane it's like one of the most precise things that there is that is man-made [888.48] Frank: it's crazy um but if you were printing a lego brick you wouldn't want to be it to be exactly [896.48] Frank: what a real lego brick is like you'd want to be able to work out okay well the tolerance on my [901.44] Frank: machine is a bit like this so i'm going to oversize this and undersize that and maybe [906.88] Frank: redesign this bit to have a bit more flex in it by putting some slots in the side or something [910.64] Frank: like that so there's all that kind of thing is that you're not just copying and pasting it [916.48] Frank: you're having to redesign it to work with what you got so i was very surprised with the fabricator [924.32] Jack: too uh because i made it and the the little um nut certs that go into the carbon fiber it made a [933.44] Jack: really satisfying click over the top of them it was it was really sort of was that your day done [940.88] Jack: then you like hmm it felt nice yeah it felt yeah it was very satisfying like it's snap fits are [951.68] Jack: good i think when it works it's nice yeah he's yeah that sort of like you know i felt i felt [959.12] Jack: fulfilled and uh but it did take me about a day to do that well just put them things in or build [967.76] Jack: the whole thing but like get it to print like i had numerous failed i don't think it's gonna work for [975.28] Tony: me i normally stamp on stuff or throw it out or a bit higher yeah i think a 3d printer [985.6] Frank: is a bit like a quad that you only ever tune or build like it never flies that's that's [993.52] Frank: pretty much what you're learning yeah i don't think 3d printing is for me [1002.16] Jack: the annoying thing was it started printing like it printed half the print really lovely [1008.48] Jack: and like the other side of it it kept like lifting and like clipping [1012.88] Tony: and then screwed up and then if there's a draft in the room or something it will make it go wrong [1020.88] Tony: yeah yeah right if you breathe in them if you lean over it go this is doing well that just makes it [1028.96] Jack: yeah i i found like walking away from it really helped i was nowhere near my 3d printer when i [1035.92] Jack: finally got it to print successfully yeah it was like a watch 3d printer never does what the [1043.68] Jack: you want it to oh my god but like yeah my first one was promising and then i made some adjustments [1050.72] Jack: and then it was just spaghetti for the next like seven hours and then it sort of like started [1057.68] Tony: coming back now i know why people like go to work leave it but then check on it with with [1064.72] Tony: like they set up cameras i've seen people with cameras looking at their printer i'm like what [1069.84] Tony: are you doing i'm just checking my print up just checking it and i'm like oh it's gone wrong and [1074.72] Tony: then they can cancel the print remotely and stuff and i'm like oh fair enough yeah give it give it [1080.48] Frank: a few years there'll be like some machine learning watching the camera and like automatically [1088.32] Frank: adjusting things and then just working out ah it's all gone to and then it'll just machine learn [1096.64] Jack: its way into setting your house on fire that's yeah at least it's my favorite it can be a pain [1107.15] Jack: but it's so youthful so magical pain so is that the stuff that's better than abs pgge well [1118.35] Frank: better it's that's a strong word it's like but all plastics are different like they're [1127.52] Frank: good for different things all materials are good for different things a lot like that [1135.68] Jack: well it started off so promising and then and then i tried to make a slurry [1143.84] Frank: that looks that looks a bit weak for sovereignty for a slurry yeah tpu is rewarding if you get [1154.59] Frank: right is that the flexible stuff tpu yeah i tell you what seeing all the flight test stuff [1161.39] Frank: with a lightweight pla like that looks that looks nice i would like to be able to do that [1168.75] Jack: well you can with your new fangled machine well but i need to spend some time on it [1174.11] Frank: that's the problem and time is an issue frank gets distracted i mean look at his way where's [1180.75] Tony: that where's that i saw that what's happening with the is it just sitting on the side [1187.07] Frank: is something else that's waiting for me to spend some time on it and tune it this is a recurring [1192.27] Tony: theme here yeah has anyone seen the just your bar will release video about 10 minutes before [1199.23] Jack: we went live no funnily enough no i think really kind of find painkillers but um yeah you you [1208.59] Jack: mentioned it and i've i've i've got it i've you need some stuff out because it's so literally [1216.43] Tony: just come out because open tx new vermin update oscar lang the g if anyone remembers him oscar's [1226.99] Tony: already on it yeah look at this crossfire shot isn't it crossfire shot so it's a communication [1234.35] Frank: protocol instead of being between the receiver and the flight controller what we're looking at [1241.55] Frank: is the protocol between the radio as in the the bit with the gimbals in it and a screen and some [1252.35] Frank: buttons and your radio module that sits in the back either built into it or in the like a module [1259.23] Frank: bay or on the whatever else on the on the back so there's there's that little wire between [1266.43] Frank: those two computers the one sitting and that's connected to the gimbals the one connected to [1270.83] Tony: the actual rf that's enough line to to slow you down when you're a racer yeah so there's probably [1278.51] Frank: not but it seems like there's a you know there's there's a little buffer there that's you know [1285.39] Frank: taking your actual stick inputs and saving it there and waiting for the other one for the [1291.39] Frank: actual rf module to be free and doing its next cycle and then it picks it up and it seems like [1299.55] Frank: what's going on there is so there's a version of open tx and a version of the crossfire module [1307.31] Frank: firmware that then instead of them waiting for stuff to be ready they're actually being [1314.27] Frank: synchronized and so they're on the same kind of loop time so um i think in the same sort of way [1321.63] Frank: as we were looking at having like your PID loops synchronized with your ESCs and things like that [1327.55] Frank: yeah um it's the same sort of idea but between your radio and your rf module [1336.11] Tony: wow well done frank you literally learned that in two seconds before we went live [1341.47] Frank: i have PDFs open i have blogs open yeah absolutely yeah so it's been it looks like [1351.95] Frank: it's been in like nightly builds for almost a year um but judging by the fact that you saw it on [1362.27] Frank: joshua barber's video i imagine this means it's now out and released i think it has been but you [1371.71] Tony: have to open you have to update open tx on your controller or presume this episode was recorded [1378.83] Frank: in front of a live online audience downloaded and edited to make sense when it played audio only [1384.19] Frank: censored to please the itunes people hosted on the internet forwarded through to your podcast [1388.27] Frank: provider downloaded playing on your device and is now playing in your ears all thanks to our [1393.79] Frank: patreons consider joining them and you'll also get other online benefits find out more at patreon.com [1400.43] Frank: forward slash let's drone out clive life pv says western got controversial hmm i'm scared i was [1408.59] Frank: hoping that we might be able to get someone on who was actually there but it's one of these [1414.51] Frank: weird events where i mean it's one of these weird incidents where loads of people saw it [1420.99] Frank: but then you try actually try and find someone who actually saw it firsthand and wasn't just like [1426.11] Frank: a friend or a friend saw it and sort of struggling to get hold of so if anyone does actually have [1433.63] Frank: some i've had a first person view of the incident i have an fbv of it yeah then please do let us know [1443.47] Frank: do we know what happened then what you could anonymously you know talk to us off stream or [1449.95] Frank: preferably we'll get you on stream and you can talk through it but uh so they say um who's they [1459.71] Frank: the government the the the friends of friends of friends of friends of friends okay um there was [1469.87] Frank: some race well i don't know if it was actual racing going on but there was flying going on [1473.87] Frank: on the track late in the evening when all the fireworks were going off and everything because [1477.63] Frank: that's a thing that happens at western park people don't know so so the racing is done and dusted [1484.27] Frank: yeah just open which is free from what i can tell okay and then um some people [1494.51] Frank: that were in the big house which is also a hotel didn't like that there was still drones flying [1502.27] Frank: past their window at some time yeah and they came out and voiced their displeasure um um [1513.15] Frank: when this wasn't as effective as they'd hoped they took matters into their own hands um and [1522.59] Frank: ripped some controllers out of someone's hands as they were flying around what yeah really that's [1529.55] Tony: that's that's the the rumor that's the tsp wow so someone got arse didn't like the noise went [1538.67] Tony: downstairs and went about a few beers and we have to always see it and took the control while [1543.87] Frank: someone's flying while someone's flying dangerous you know it goes and crashes into a tree or [1549.95] Frank: something um but it sounds like again this is all like here say who knows it's like multiple [1557.07] Frank: people saying this is what they've heard but no one has a first hand account so take all this [1563.95] Frank: with a pinch of salt but apparently uh it's now with the bmfa are trying to basically put together [1573.15] Frank: a case for assault um to say you can't be doing you can't rip someone's controller out of their [1579.47] Frank: hands that's dangerous yeah you know should we read our disclaimer out yeah [1589.07] Frank: who's expressed by anyone on this show our personal and may not reflect the views of others [1595.07] Frank: anything we talk about it may well be bollocks we don't have any we weren't there [1603.39] Tony: but it's only strong multiple people have said dave story said yet frank it was the staff [1611.39] Jack: that wasn't us saying that flame dave story you can sue him dave story [1623.39] Tony: someone said it was a karen doing it that's like new like literally like you could if someone [1630.19] Tony: rips that controller out your hand your flying rim you could they could have lucky there was a [1636.03] Tony: tree they crashed in because there was you know you could have literally gone into the crowns [1641.39] Tony: like i've had a quad hit me in the face and it you know so i went to hospital if you imagine [1649.39] Tony: that hitting a kid or well probably not it's like it's like pulling someone out of a diesel [1656.27] Jack: automatic vehicle once you remove that person that car is gonna carry on going you know like [1664.03] Jack: it will just it will keep going wow you know so it's like it's soaring the steering wheel [1672.43] Tony: may have been staff apparently but we're not but can can we do disclaimer again should we [1680.59] Jack: yeah i know well we didn't name the staff but no that is not what i think it was no better [1691.79] Tony: that's crazy you can't do that to people yeah did you see it did you or did you see it with [1699.39] Tony: your own eyes dave we're saying you do you want to come on have a chat come on tell us you were [1705.23] Tony: there we'll send you the link come on have a chat i don't know i don't know whether we want to do that [1717.06] Frank: as rumor has it read that out yeah dave is dave story said at 8 39 pm uh rumor has it quote [1727.94] Frank: apparently screamed in pilot's ears land then tried to snatch tx end quote [1735.46] Tony: ed quote of dave story at 8 39 pm nothing linked to elio or tony jack or [1747.54] Frank: that is scary isn't it it's not the way to do it is it no but the fact that this is like such a [1756.1] Frank: you know unusual thing to happen uh is at least you know a good sign right this is this first [1763.78] Frank: time i've heard of something like that happen in the uk at least what else can we talk about [1770.5] Frank: uh gail got in touch the other day oh yeah yep uh gail if people remember from uh well we've [1780.02] Frank: had her on a few times but most recently uh reading our fortunes in some drone tarot cards [1789.86] Jack: that was that was bloody hilarious dishonored tarot cards i love that [1798.34] Frank: um yeah gail got in touch a few days ago asking if anyone would be interested in [1807.94] Frank: uh having oh yeah she she's offering to pay someone to one-on-one teacher through building [1816.58] Frank: and tuning uh not me uh a five inch was um with uh djoy uh fpv setup i'll help but i'll take [1833.06] Tony: her to fly but no building and i'm tuning maybe but maybe we could double team it tony maybe i [1841.22] Jack: could go through the build with her and you jesus i like visions then [1852.5] Jack: chinese finger cuffs [1855.7] Frank: oh dear uh but if anyone is interested uh gail has uh said oh please put my email up on the show [1867.14] Frank: tonight uh gail photo at hotmail.co.uk there we go if anyone wants what does she want she wants [1879.94] Frank: someone to help her build and learn to tune well build and tune a five inch quad she needs [1887.78] Jack: someone to teach her to fly i'm remotely doing that with a buddy of mine [1893.7] Frank: is pop them on in august frank um i don't know nothing to do with it uh might be i think [1906.82] Frank: is is that now pop a model show i think uh let me let me have a quick look [1918.37] Frank: let me have a look 21st to the 22nd of august uh it looks like that is [1931.49] Frank: up and running um but yes there is not a mini air show i don't know what the deal [1940.29] Frank: is going to be with drones there there might not even be any drones [1944.45] Frank: clive fpv says the tbs mambo is out soon i don't know what that is i've not heard about that from [1952.37] Frank: anyone nor have i because no one would tell me anything that was under an nda [1961.92] Frank: yeah this is the fifth one i'm just going straight to version five um [1970.08] Tony: who's got the lovely birds i can hear in the background [1975.92] Tony: they literally i'm like i'm not in the city anymore [1987.04] Jack: i went and visited frank and it was like a molo model village i went to the cricketers [1995.12] Jack: and there was like a pub dog and i we would like when i drove frank to his house we passed an air [2003.04] Jack: fix model shop it had like and it was just so i don't know whether any of you have been watching [2011.52] Jack: the jeremy clarkson farm thing but that's where frank lives yeah pretty much i mean he's got a [2018.72] Jack: local shop and you know who's just like don't forget you crossed over like a level crossing [2025.04] Frank: with like a little signal box next to it it's like it's very picturesque oh it's unreal it is [2031.92] Frank: it it's yeah it really is makes a difference from when you last visited me and i was like [2037.52] Frank: and here's where someone got shot and here's where someone ran out of their window to escape [2042.72] Jack: gangs and yeah it's a bit different i know that the memorials are flowers for like people dead [2052.56] Jack: poor dead teenagers pretty much yeah this is where my phone got stolen out of my hand [2058.8] Frank: and this is where i hunted down the people that stole it yeah all of that [2064.08] Jack: um look what i had to buy i had to buy a new some money a new need for one of my for one of [2074.0] Jack: my antennas because yeah frank lost it is it you or frank it was frank i was i was flying [2084.32] Jack: flying at the time it wasn't it wasn't the time where he's like i'm in complete control and then [2090.64] Jack: just went boom and then just flew straight into the ground how much did they rush you for a bit [2098.64] Tony: of plastic that you could have printed on your 3d printer no you can't because the 3d print bit [2104.16] Jack: would be full of water this was four pounds four quid on that yeah but you know it keeps keeps [2112.96] Frank: nick does so first thing i need to uh cut on my laser cutter is a a grid for uh [2119.84] Jack: vac form millennia yes maybe that would be quite good actually we remind you we could just vac [2126.64] Tony: form this does that affect the tune of the antenna if it's not on then uh yeah but or is it just [2135.92] Jack: protection uh it's mainly protection it is tuned to have it on there so i'd probably bet you're [2143.76] Tony: probably better having it on than having it off yeah i never thought i'd ever say that ever yeah [2150.4] Jack: i mean like it's you know with lid on it's tuned to like you know 520 and then when you take the [2157.68] Jack: lid off it's tuned to five five fifteen or something like that you know it's just like [2165.36] Jack: like you know and this is one of the old school ones that are like frank is there activity outside [2170.96] Jack: yours are these are these local youths going go home from the pub yeah they're all pleasant and [2178.72] Jack: skipping and stuff making daisy chains um i i i read somewhere the um old uh luxe releasing a new [2195.92] Jack: board as well lumineer lumineer luxe yeah lumineer luxe i thought you'd like that um i do like that [2208.8] Jack: uh like i it's like i think they're doing a h7 or something did anyone see nurks video [2219.6] Tony: i watched it this morning i was like no this afternoon i thought oh my god [2224.48] Tony: did you really do that they'd done a uh 12 hour race oh yeah i heard about might have completed [2232.24] Tony: a lap by then i don't know how many laps i read like 1500 1600 but there was just like literally [2240.72] Tony: lap after lap after lap for just 12 hours i just can't think of anything more [2251.52] Frank: why why would you do that well it was it was trying to follow the lemon wasn't it it was like [2257.12] Frank: a endurance 24-hour race you know i think i think that's quite interesting but i think you [2265.44] Frank: would have to have some fairly good can you imagine flying sick just like the thing is [2273.36] Frank: at that point the quads going around the track are not the interesting thing the interesting [2278.56] Frank: thing is like the pilots having nervous breakdowns for trying to be like at that level of focus for [2286.0] Tony: that much i think there was i don't know how many pilots were it was per team [2293.76] Tony: was it more than full because i think nirk did fly but he was like doing changing batteries and [2300.24] Tony: stuff like that um but i i watched it and i was like oh my god this is like yeah i mean once you've [2310.64] Frank: seen the quad go around enough time since not gonna be so interesting but i still think i [2315.92] Frank: watching the teams but you'd need like cameras and microphones in the pits [2321.12] Frank: and that's where the the drama is going to be happening like and that that could be you know [2327.76] Frank: if you recorded that and i feel like it could end up being a bit like the uh scrappy challenges [2334.16] Frank: not scrappy well that as well but also like robot wars or scrappy challenges or something [2338.0] Frank: like that where you end up with like people getting very stressed about trying to get something [2343.6] Frank: kind of fixed in time but i don't know i think it could be entertaining but only [2352.72] Frank: not for a whole 12 hours 12 hours not watching it real time wouldn't be very entertaining i wouldn't [2359.36] Frank: want to go there basically into time it could be an interesting it could be like it could be an [2365.44] Frank: interesting live stream potentially i like to kind of jump in and out of to have on in the [2372.0] Tony: background or yeah to edit that down while i was painting my house something like that and watching [2382.56] Tony: it dry yes exactly not i was i was just like why are you doing this yeah at the other end of the [2392.16] Frank: scale uh i keep seeing uh some some videos of fpv uh formation flying and that it does look quite [2402.08] Frank: fun so is that wings this is this is like some nice well look at all that it's too much information [2413.76] Tony: on the screen for me and it's not even moved over to the side look move that over put that down i [2420.08] Jack: mean they've still got the fox ear label up i mean older curry would hate that [2428.0] Jack: that is so cool though you just need to the like nj would have a massive erection for this if you [2434.72] Jack: like just in thundercats and being like don't even speak about thundercats gay formation and [2443.36] Frank: sheldon we're looking at so we're looking is is the cockpit view of i'm gonna get it wrong i [2459.52] Frank: don't know what it is is it like an f 18 15 some some fights oh don't do that someone will know in [2470.4] Frank: the chat um and the you know flying into the sunset with a four ship diamond formation so it's [2479.12] Frank: you one you're looking out and you can see one on the left in front of you one on the right in front [2484.64] Frank: of you one almost directly ahead of you in some point if i ain't bad just says there you go i'm [2490.32] Frank: glad someone knows stash cares yep um flying off into the sunset blue sky going good work [2500.0] Tony: by johnson i just can't believe he hasn't moved any of that stuff on for a bit there is quite a [2507.44] Tony: lot of osd on there what we got we've got like literally we are is that right for us is that [2513.76] Tony: what the top that's 45 10.8 volts down the bottom in the middle that that is throttle position isn't [2523.36] Frank: it oh that's 45 i don't know acro 22 in the 3.68 volts 10.8 volts maybe not there's [2535.12] Tony: a hundred milliwatts i'm guessing it's 591 meters away from his home point [2547.28] Frank: a lot of stuff on there there that's the way what happened to frank did you knock the camera [2555.76] Frank: don't worry [2559.2] Tony: comfy fpv it's nowhere to be found email email right and then if forward some stuff on [2570.94] Tony: is there any more than the two seconds we watched frank no that's pretty much it for that one but [2576.62] Frank: there's this one as well which is like again something that is that someone shared or something [2583.9] Frank: so he's like built this trailer so he's got three [2587.34] Frank: massive screens around him plus oh my god this is incredible with like a load of dials and knobs [2594.54] Frank: and things and another little kind of ipad he's type screen in it he's got the whole full full on [2601.1] Frank: like proper headset man so he must have like three cameras on there i guess one for each screen [2607.34] Frank: he's got one pointing out straight ahead with a load of osd on it one straight [2612.54] Frank: well one to kind of 60 degrees left one kind of 60 degrees right and it's some scale model [2622.54] Frank: of some airliner i mean it says in the in the thing in addition 14 and i think from [2631.34] Frank: that he's just reading around i think it's like he's a professional pilot of that particular [2637.02] Frank: airliner and he's just like built this cockpit and so he's flying it real real time after [2644.94] Frank: yeah and he's in that yeah so he's in the trailer flying fpv with this like crazy sim [2652.46] Frank: looking setup but an actual model that's flying around that is so cool and he's got the um [2661.38] Frank: that that's really good yeah he's got all the proper little dials and all on his left hand [2667.06] Frank: and everything yeah hotas all of that nice nice cool this is retired underscore pilot [2676.02] Frank: if anyone wants to find it on youtube by the way that is really cool also before we go uh i [2684.74] Frank: want to plug the the stream that i spent my weekend setting up with planes tv at duxford [2694.1] Frank: i watched that yeah [2700.02] Frank: what did you think i liked it i enjoyed it good yeah so that was that was this was my desk for [2707.06] Frank: the weekend like a tricaster and another little control surfacing all the audio stuff and yeah [2715.78] Frank: had a bunch of cameras around like proper nice tv cameras um yeah it was good fun playing around [2724.42] Frank: with like actual professional video or vision what are you saying we're not professional [2729.94] Frank: i mean i mean can you swear there we we we are using an online vision mixing surface we we don't [2740.9] Frank: have a control surface well jack does but that's cheating i saw i saw something that my granddad [2751.7] Tony: flew on that live stream and it was it was yeah the catalina yeah it was the catalina [2759.7] Tony: he flew on that and maintained it in the second world war something yeah it got stuck in lockness [2766.58] Frank: a little while ago what one one got stuck there did it that particular one from duxford uh went [2773.7] Frank: up there for some filming uh landed and then had some engine trouble and couldn't take off again [2781.3] Jack: but they managed to fix it if only if only we had tony's granddad [2789.86] Jack: i know digging around in the engines can you tell him could you imagine [2798.82] Tony: there is definitely a point a palm tree in madagascar with tony's granddad was here [2806.74] Tony: because that is where he was he was stationed i think we're done if anyone has any suggestions [2814.98] Frank: for topics we should talk about on the show uh things that we might have missed any new [2821.94] Frank: product releases any events that are going on any groups any new pilots uh anything interesting [2830.58] Frank: that you think we should have on the show or talk about on the show please do let us know [2836.5] Frank: let's drone out at gmail.com uh facebook.com slash let's drone out uh anything else that [2844.18] Frank: you can think of there's probably a let's train out on there drop us a message please do no it's [2852.58] Jack: um it's a very you know it's gone of the days where everyone was releasing a a new five inch [2860.98] Jack: quads every five minutes and you know hobby king was trying to keep up and you know there was all [2868.42] Jack: this all this new stuff so we we we do need a need a bit of a help kind of keeping up and [2875.14] Frank: finding out all these little things so if you can clive mentioned prop fest uh yeah i've been in [2881.22] Frank: touch with them a few times uh we'll get them on once they've got a bit more of a plan together [2887.22] Tony: it's like two years in the future isn't it at least year in a bit yeah there's a little bit [2893.62] Jack: of it no guys you've been listening to let's show now thank
