[19.2] Jack: Mikey dread on with the show drone out drone out tonight you're by my lord and master. [60.86] Stephen: Good evening. [63.74] Jack: And we are doing by steven good evening and i am bright and i'm useless hello frank it seems that you've got something lined up for us in the. [78.14] Jack: I'm with we've we've all brought things if you're not. [81.5] Jack: No. [84.82] Jack: Someone's someone's gotta be. [87.62] Jack: Bring your news item first. [90.46] Jack: My news item my news item is. [94.1] Jack: I'm a dickhead. [96.86] Frank: Well I mean you did come up at the weekend and we use the laser cutter. [102.3] Jack: Yes and I have nice smelling bits of wood thanks to you. [108.74] Frank: Fragrance. [110.78] Jack: I know I did something useful I to be honest I mean I have been feeling quite myself recently and I had a meeting on Tuesday and. [124.18] Jack: i've done a lot of sleeping so i've been doing a lot of self care I thought about flying today, but I just I just slept. [132.3] Jack: So so you were dreaming about fine. [134.54] Jack: Sometimes it's not a big. [136.42] Jack: Yeah i'm sorry i'm just like. [140.42] Jack: yeah i'm not i'm not with it, I have to live vicariously through you guys i'm sorry and your your topics. [148.94] Frank: What have you been living vicariously through andy i see these videos because he's put out a couple recently that have been very cool. [157.5] Jack: i've been worried about andy i see because he's he's got a black eye don't you know. [162.3] Frank: yeah well I think that's from strapping his DJI goggles on for so long. [167.94] Frank: Oh my God spending all day every day in his goggles with his head tracking. [172.98] Stephen: Does he even want to have a head tracker on it these days like every time I see him fly something he's got a head tracking. [179.66] Stephen: hmm pan and tilt on it it's pretty impressive. [183.06] Frank: He's stepping up so I mean he's he's had it on his fun cup for ages and he's recently put it on an acro watt which is a it's a criss-foss thing that's sort of a mid-wing sort of aerobatic type thing an acro watt there's there's there's lots of watts. [202.22] Frank: it's a foamy. [203.22] Frank: yeah he's been putting that on. [209.02] Frank: and the. [211.5] Frank: he's also. [212.26] Stephen: I mean he's a great EDF suddenly some like 6s or 8s EDF that tears around and makes a heck of a noise. [219.42] Frank: yeah he's been he's been building himself up so he's getting a big red arrows foamy again and the FMS one and he's he put Insta360 One R on it and it was the one that he posted today so you got all this nice stabilized footage from the cockpit in going through. [240.5] Stephen: all the sort of aerobatic maneuvers and then come in and land that thing it's butter clenching watching him come he's he's you know he's doing proper landing on gear and he's got foldable gear on it and oh my word as a quarter pilot that just looks terrifying. [256.58] Jack: he's he's got his B-cert he's BMFA trained he's he's he's old school he's he's a mode one you know he's he knows his stuff. [268.02] Frank: yeah BM I'm looking forward to him putting the I'm looking forward to him putting the head tracking on the on the red arrows one and getting fill up as well I'm sure that's the plan is is to get have a two ship of the EDF red arrows looks like something you wouldn't want to be facing the wrong way while flying. [286.74] Jack: it's got a blender in the open to get you yeah it's nicely packaged away in some nice. [294.5] Frank: Nice safety foam first. [303.06] Frank: plane landings are much more stressful than quads as rich borick absolutely take offs landings all of these things much scarier with planes. [312.9] Stephen: they will continue to be until someone makes a carbon fiber plane at which point it's just the spectators will be scared. [320.5] Frank: yeah I think you might have to speak to fossil stuff about that one I'm sure Martin's been talking about making a carbon fiber race wing crazy razor blade thing for quite a while. [333.86] Stephen: That would be awesome that might be what it takes to get me into flying wings that the knowledge that I wouldn't be able to destroy it the first time I landed it. [340.74] Frank: yeah I mean fossil is coming to LDO know in a couple of weeks time along with menace and nj is going to be there and quite a few other people so yeah hopefully there'll be lots of fun toys to see at LDO know I know menace is releasing something new between now and then so hopefully he'll bring whatever it is along. [371.62] Frank: yeah got some cool stuff I've I mean for this you know LDO know was meant to just be a meet up in a field try out the fields see you make sure that's all nice and good actually see people again just have a casual fly very easy not a setup there's been a better feature creep. [391.94] Frank: I do now have a car full of stuff that I'm bringing to LDO know already mainly because I can't be bothered to unload the car up the stairs into the attic where I am right now so it's just staying in the car between now and then. [408.5] Frank: yeah we should have have some good times we'll see how much of it actually works but I'm looking forward to it looking forward to seeing people and potentially adding a repeatable venue to the list should be nice I'm just watching this red arrow tear about the sky oh it's quite something isn't it oh my god. [438.5] Jack: He makes me miss Andy I see so much I miss my friend maybe maybe we can convince him to come back for our six years episode next week oh no way six years I know how the time and we're Tony bless as well. [460.43] Frank: Yeah it's only me and you Frank the original oh geez left ah well uh there might be one or two others coming as well you never know. [476.35] Jack: I know six years I know I can't believe it myself it's crazy isn't it good things have changed a lot. [484.91] Jack: What about that magic FPV organized meetup in September is this the one at the mines yeah is that prop fest no that one's next year right. [503.36] Frank: I think so yeah uh because there's I think there's another one there's there's one at the big house which is prop fest which is happening next year I think and then there's another one happening in a few weeks time that's in uh yeah where was it it was like a sort of the header of mine unit at the pit winding there we go. [533.04] Frank: Caroline knows what I'm talking about um yeah that would now I'm interested to see how that works because that is a thing I mean we were talking about uh FPV allocations and frequencies and everything last week with Cerberus. [551.44] Frank: I've slightly gone off pieced a little bit with the FPV frequency allocations for LDNO and I can I can talk a little bit about my reasoning behind that so with all the racing which is obviously what Cerberus is going to be doing and what a lot of the other events have been where there has been a mix of analog and digital. [582.08] Frank: And obviously a race everyone is powering on and settling down and getting everything working and then when everyone's working then you're flying and racing and then you you you know finishing landing crashing whatever and then you're powering off and then the next lot of starting up. [600.4] Frank: So when you turn on your DJI goggles and it goes into public channel it doesn't matter because no one's flying. [607.76] Frank: But if we're just having a casual meetup where people might be turning on and off at different times you're going to have this public channel powering on just while it's you know while you're finding your channel on your DJI unit. [622.48] Stephen: So right if you mean if there's a collision you get bumped into the public channel so you unintentionally end up in public channel even though you weren't supposed to be there you can't really do anything about it if someone's on that channel already. [633.36] Frank: Yeah or if you're changing from you know if you've been flying on 50 and then you go back to 25 then it's going to start you off on the public channel and until you pick one. [645.36] Frank: So you want to get out of the way of the public channel just so yeah so i've i'm rather than trying to squeeze in six channels and saying there's going to be you know just if someone accidentally goes on to the public channel. [660.0] Frank: Everyone's going to have a horrific load of intermodulation distortion because it basically reflects everyone on to everyone else and it will go horribly messy. [670.56] Frank: Assume that there is going to be something on public channel what's the best we can do and if you have you can get five frequencies around that basically perfectly so you can have. [683.84] Frank: I'm going to have to look it up I think it's one R1 R3 R4. [694.08] Frank: R8 and F7 and so you've got everything is nicely spaced out so you basically get perfect IMD ratings. [708.8] Frank: Until sort of both F7 might get a little bit of interference from a public channel we shall see otherwise this this this was kind of the way to make me most comfortable in thinking that you know because I know from painful experience how much. [729.52] Frank: How much a good event and everyone coming at the end of the day and going that's a good day depends on making sure that frequencies will work nicely with each other. [741.28] Frank: Because if if you try and mess about with it and have too high a power or too many people on it or not the right separation between where you're flying and. [751.84] Frank: Where you where the pilots are all of this kind of stuff if you have any slight wiggles if people are getting noise you just have a lot of very grumpy pilots and it's not a good day so I've made sure that even with the public channel on there and everyone else using all the other channels. [773.44] Frank: The rating on the ET heli tools IMD calculator is as good as IMD 60 at the moment so for me that's that's my like okay I'm comfortable setting that out we'll go with that and then people can turn things on and off willy nilly and we hopefully don't have to worry about it that's that is my reasoning behind that we'll see how it works. [803.52] Frank: Because it's not going to be approach yeah so it's not it's removing is one fewer pilot anyone time but it will mean that you can have people turning on and off flying around. [819.28] Frank: As they like without having to wait for everyone to land and then turn something else on and all that kind of stuff so hopefully it means that we can have someone flying out doing some endurance stuff just for hours and hours while someone else is going up and doing some a one minute packed doing just all out freestyle. [840.16] Frank: That's that's the thinking cool so we'll try that out and we'll report back and see how that goes. [846.0] Stephen: It's going to be an experiment isn't it always got lots of things to experiment with I think we've got a decent area so hopefully people can also spread out a bit you know if there is a signal conflict so long as we don't have people blasting one lot everywhere which of course they won't do because it's illegal in this country of course no one would dare go above 25 milliwatts for fear of offcom because they're you know we love and respect you trees have ears and antennas. [876.24] Stephen: Right yeah so hopefully we'll be able to you know distance ourselves just go for a bit of a walk and set up yeah away from everyone else we don't we don't yeah we don't want to upset the Wi-Fi for the trees. [889.76] Frank: I do have a few backup locations as well like if if everything goes horribly wrong and everyone's like this is terrible I have I've already got plans and backup plans and what about right what about the ultimate backup plan there's there's there's the huts at the main site we have a huts it has [919.76] Frank: chairs in it has a microwave it has a kettle it has a toilet it has a kitchen sink there's a literal kitchen sink involved got everything wow there's a pizza oven there's an outdoor I don't know if it works I can't imagine anyone's used it for years but it's there if someone's love to go it's a rather. [941.12] Frank: It's a log fired pizza oven yeah yeah outdoor is there wood there it's called wood farm so probably. [957.04] Jack: Because you actually have this dave yep send the coming side I do remember them having trees last time I was yeah yeah I know dry wood though not wet wood yeah. [966.24] Jack: So hopefully it all works out I mean I remember the last ldo and like it heavily raining and then this Tupperware quads flying about and just being like totally I mean other than nearly killed my zoom recorder oh yeah yeah that was that was horrible but apart from that I just we you know. [995.52] Jack: Well under this gazebo yeah that that was that was quite good yeah with the windscreen wiper on the front of the Tupperware box yeah just all stood around like a little fbv screen a little like. [1009.36] Stephen: I do I do have a can of conformance coating which I keep threatening to use. [1013.36] Stephen: Yeah it's Peter Streeple's like what is it rain the know the corrosion hex you can buy them now that was a deep six or something you buy them pre waterproofed and they ship you these funky little things like where they actually produce plastic seals that go over your flight control and your vtx and they even put a little special rubber grommets and they give you like especially cut bits of silicon that you can go in there to block up everything. [1040.88] Stephen: And they're like yeah you can buy this ready made all you need to do is when you go flying make sure that you like strap an empty drinks bottle onto the top just to make sure it doesn't sink and they've got videos like they go into the water and they just take off straight out of the water just flip upside down in the water turtle mode in the water and then take off absolutely magic yeah the ultimate toy there is a lake nearby. [1067.44] Frank: I know I've always wanted to do that to float out you know like you know me and a bit of a thing and yeah because I would like to do something on the sea because there's there are like rules about stuff in the in the waterways and I'm like but illness see it's the sea I thought you were gonna say there's rules about what you can do in the uk but once you're a couple of miles out. [1094.56] Stephen: Oh no I'm running 50 watts yeah international waters yeah I know what how many how many meters how many miles out do you need to be for international increase stick because that was the the get around for the old pirate radio back in the day and they increased it a whole bunch to make it less easy to run radio stations out there so not sure. [1124.78] Frank: I mean the alternative is get something into orbit so you know there's enough up there as it is. [1135.79] Stephen: It's like a collection of old takeaway containers up there right now. [1140.99] Stephen: It's like a student flat with bits of foil just sort of cruising on. [1144.43] Stephen: It used to be eight miles yeah I heard it used to oh my god so I I noticed something on a more technical note appears all those who are being chuffed about running BL heli 32 maybe slightly less chuffed because it looks like the latest release somewhat buggered up the erpm measurement. [1167.87] Stephen: Which is bad news for anyone that was trying to use that to do filtering yeah the RPM filtering that that everyone was kind of raving about for. [1178.27] Stephen: Yeah and I've only I've only got one BL heli 32 quad because I'm a cheap skate so I've been using BL heli s for everything and experimenting with like jsc and blue j and all this stuff. [1190.99] Stephen: I've been quite happy with that I got BL heli 32 I'm like right let's get ready for the pro time the serious yeses and then I open this up and I'm like. [1200.07] Stephen: What the hell is this looks like complete windows 95 garbage persevered and I'm like right I'm sure I've got the smoothest flying quad now and then. [1211.31] Stephen: Boom spot this bug and apparently it's measuring erpm wrong so if you're on 32.8 you probably want to downgrade to 32.7 right now because there's it's introducing a ton of noise into the RPM measurements and 32.8 BL heli 32. [1226.91] Stephen: Oh oops oops yeah and the reason you would have gone to this latest version is to get the variable PWM so the idea being you can get some grunty like. [1238.71] Stephen: Low frequency PWM for low throttle and then when you up the throttle it would shift into a higher speed PWM which would give you better efficiency but. [1251.67] Frank: Why would you want to be in lower PWM. [1256.27] Stephen: Because because talk is proportional to the strength of the magnetic field and an inductor does not immediately generate a magnetic field inductor needs a little bit of time to build up the field and so. [1271.11] Stephen: So yeah apparently the difference between like 24 kilohertz and 48 kilohertz was enough that like the inductor wasn't having enough time in each of these pulses at 48 kilohertz to generate as much field as it did with 24 kilohertz where it was switched on for a longer time and it just had the ability to generate a stronger field and get more talk. [1293.23] Frank: Yeah I had a brain fart I was thinking you're talking about like PWM going from the flight controllers the year see like it was like 2015 and that's like the motor control PWM Chris Ross has a nice little diagram on his video where he likes the wiring and the actual MOSFET putting current through the motor windings. [1313.35] Stephen: If you remember a while ago there was a big fuss about everyone running like tiny whoops were discovering that if you use these fancy new BL Heli S firmwares and you went from the default 24 kilohertz with BL Heli S and you jumped up to 48 or 96 kilohertz you're getting a lot more flight time because there's a massive efficiency saving when you got to say 96 kilohertz on on tiny whoops you get minutes more flight time sometimes and it makes a massive difference but. [1341.39] Stephen: Yeah, maybe it's not ready for the prime time just yet into this variable pick up a new if you if you're saying it's about. [1349.35] Frank: The if the issue is. [1351.95] Frank: I'm still trying to get my wrap my head around this, so the issue is if it switches too fast. [1358.95] Stephen: Your inductor isn't going to respond because you're you're coiling your motor is essentially an inductor and it's going to reject you doing things quickly because that's what cause it takes time to saturate and build up the magnetic fields and it takes time for the field to drop off and if you're if you're not if you're trying to slice up that time into little chunks when it's on and then have a chunk when it's off and then a chunk when it's on. [1384.31] Stephen: You're building up the fields and then decaying building up the field and decaying you and you just end up with less of a strong field available compared to having biggest bigger widest chunks when that field is on and generating that pull or push and then off. [1398.99] Frank: hmm okay, and so. [1402.71] Stephen: Maybe measurable like you seriously have to increase your kids when you go up to the higher pwm frequencies because it's just not as responsive. [1410.67] Frank: i'm just wondering is that a case of. [1413.55] Frank: it's because the tiny motors are just spinning so literally fast that it makes a difference, or is it because. [1421.35] Frank: The coils themselves are smaller and so there is less inductance there so i'm just wondering is it a case of you don't really do you need the pwm to be variable. [1432.67] Frank: Oh it's under the course of flight or do you need it just to be variable in terms of this quad needs to run this color that's this quad needs to run this color hurts kind of yes and no right. [1442.31] Stephen: Ideally it helps if you've got a small quad to run on kind of a faster pwm frequency because you're smaller quad is. [1454.87] Stephen: It's that loss of talk isn't as much of a problem for your small ones right they don't necessarily need it. [1461.71] Stephen: I think is it's the general guideline i'm just going to try and turn the light on and that kind of makes sense. [1468.19] Jack: yeah it's like the battle of the led lights for you guys. [1472.27] Stephen: yeah sorry I was trying to sync up with frank and I realized that this wasn't really working so i've gone back to. [1479.75] Stephen: yeah I try and turn the light on blue and it makes me orange because i've got this dodgy webcam so lovely. [1487.67] Frank: This this is a 20 pound Xiaomi yi rip-off like a rip-off of a rip-off of a rip-off at this point. [1499.03] Stephen: I don't blame run cam for this one yeah oh nice it's the USB run it's also about 20 quid yeah. [1508.15] Stephen: But evidently 20 pounds not as well spent as yours. [1511.47] Frank: This one has the disadvantage of it's actually a little android unit and you have to tell it to go into a USB. [1520.91] Frank: webcam mode uvc mode all right yeah but. [1525.99] Frank: I mean it doesn't matter on this because it's running windows at the moment, but when I have tried to run it on Linux Linux doesn't tell it that is accepted it and so it immediately just kind of goes out well that didn't work so i'll go back into. [1541.15] Frank: Boom likewise here some different modes but anyway. [1546.75] Stephen: yeah so so generally these tiny little whoop tiny whoops running 96 kilohertz people say oh yeah it's not quite as responsive but you just get so much more battery. [1558.15] Stephen: timeout your battery that people don't complain as much it's generally okay because you're not like thrashing the crap out of them. [1564.79] Frank: hmm i've i've i've seen tiny racing at wings and wheels they were running the crap out of some of them. [1573.67] Stephen: yeah you don't like hold the throttle wide open and try and punch out of a tree though do you. [1582.63] Jack: boosted outside chatting to the Cornwall lads and someone managed to like crash out and then slip out the edge of the roof and sidewall of the tent. [1593.91] Jack: One was then outside the 10 and then and then it all we were chatting and then all we heard is this whoop just go past us and then back into the 10. [1607.51] Stephen: Always trying those corner hacks. [1609.19] Jack: As we just had like on the side of the 10 lurked and then there's a whoop outside and it just like nothing to see here just straight in the tent in real life nice. [1629.51] Stephen: So just bizarre. [1632.87] Stephen: Noice anyway so yeah the idea was that you'd be able to switch pwm frequencies and to be honest i [1639.19] Stephen: haven't heard anyone that wanted that feature it was just a feature like because we can do it let's do it it turns out maybe way a little bit longer sounds like a complicated other things but i'm a big fan of rpm filtering so yeah definitely get rpm filtering working if you haven't done already. [1657.51] Frank: But avoid. [1660.23] Frank: The old heli what was it. [1662.63] Stephen: 32.8 32 yeah there's there's some graphs i posted a link in the chat a few comments ago and there's some nice pictures and basically the best plots with 32.7 and 32.8 and 32.8 just has an f ton of noise over it compared to 32.7. [1681.75] Frank: I think go bad good to know we'll wait for the next one. [1689.27] Frank: What else been going on the caa i checked my email today and got i saw an email from the caa [1697.75] Frank: saying we've made some recommendations about drone flying you should read them so i read them so they're fairly short they're basically saying. [1709.67] Frank: Make sure you have props and that they are attached which is why i put a little learn. [1720.31] Stephen: Are they going to follow this up with guidance on making sure your motors are attached. [1727.67] Frank: Probably yeah they're doing the important things first but yeah so looking in the we did a poll [1736.39] Frank: as we were waiting while jack was getting his clothes and. [1741.99] Stephen: Check not just the surface edge of the propeller but also the hub slash root and attachment points. [1748.47] Stephen: What do we check it do we have propeller checking tools do you lick them. [1752.39] Frank: Just give them a little chew yeah a little more on them make sure they're like. [1758.87] Jack: Yeah they're props yeah that's what they were. [1763.51] Stephen: Yeah so we use original or manufacturer approved parts so all those prop whittlers out there stop [1769.27] Jack: whistling those props they're not so yeah yeah yeah not not safe to dremel the end of your props off. [1777.03] Frank: Oh yeah blunt nose i forgot about those days noise how did you forget. [1783.35] Stephen: Yeah yeah i think cross checks your pre-flight procedures so along with have i plugged in the [1791.03] Stephen: battery i have to also now check the propellers this is too much frank i'm never going to get any [1795.51] Frank: flying done it's outrageous. But saying this you know we did the poll uh how the so the question [1804.15] Frank: was that we put in the poll in the chat while we were waiting for jack to get his clothes on. [1807.83] Frank: Have you ever had a poop a poop a prop come loose accidentally 84 said sure who hasn't [1816.39] Frank: so there you go the CAA has recognized this and it's giving you good advice because clearly [1823.03] Frank: it was because you weren't thinking about it and not because you failed. [1829.11] Jack: Check your nuts lads yeah check your nuts and and women. [1834.31] Stephen: On the flip side um you can be a little bit too uh too strong on those those prop nuts and i've [1840.87] Stephen: actually disassembled some fancy blue alloy prop nuts that i got which i thought looked the part [1847.11] Stephen: and matched my blue standoff so and i was going to have the the smoothest looking quad and [1852.23] Stephen: apparently yeah that they're not those alloy prop nuts are not necessarily made to be strongly [1857.43] Stephen: tightened the manufacturer told me they sort of disassembled themselves and i was left with [1863.35] Stephen: a little disk of metal at the top a little nylon washer and just a regular nut hmm so wow i'm i'm [1874.55] Frank: impressed that the nut disassembled from itself before the nyloc bits disassembled from it that's [1882.79] Jack: that's quite uh quite an achievement there i use the prop the the the prop 2000 [1893.19] Frank: and uh and on uh what was i for those of you listening at home jack has held up something [1902.31] Stephen: orange and small uh a cordless screwdriver i believe with the uh the old m5 attachment or [1910.47] Jack: um uh you know the yeah the eight mil prop adaptor tool and it was the v uh the v3 t motors [1922.39] Jack: and i got the nut so badly cross threaded that bits of it spewed out the top [1929.75] Stephen: have you ever actually cracked shot by tightening it no never i did it radio [1936.79] Jack: but they they were real props i used to explode just by looking at them [1944.39] Stephen: i still got a bag of king kong props before they rebranded to ldarc know these 30 40 props that [1951.99] Stephen: flew really beautifully but the instant you tapped anything they just exploded [1957.83] Stephen: straight up exploded some of the best t mount props for flying but went through backs them [1963.59] Jack: oh not good man i remember when i first met frank that was when you first could get the [1969.59] Jack: the indestructible props oh yeah well that was that was the event where we learned about them [1975.03] Frank: wasn't it because after people going around and just like props disintegrating and after people [1981.19] Frank: like actually making it around a lap of a track without having their props disintegrated what's [1986.55] Jack: mind blown like people just giving them out just being like here fpv family this is the way [1994.23] Frank: yeah because everyone was in the habit of like buying you know an enormous bag of props for a [1999.43] Frank: session and then they're like oh we can fly through these leaves and the props come out [2004.39] Frank: the other side unscathed i'm never going to need another pair of props again here have them [2008.55] Jack: um yeah i know a little thin thin is anything thin and orange and bi-blade props i i have a set [2021.19] Jack: a couple of sets down there somewhere oh man what i wouldn't give can you can you bring [2026.71] Jack: some to ldo know for me to give them a go i want to see you explode them on a punch out [2033.91] Jack: they won't they won't they were literally like the countryside's littered full of them [2042.63] Frank: uh i will put them on the uh zmr and bring them along and you can [2050.87] Jack: do whatever you need to do with them yeah you need to clone the um you need to clone the id [2057.99] Frank: though for it clone the i've done all that i've kind of cloned the entire radio over it's fine [2066.23] Frank: oh fantastic this episode was recorded in front of a live online audience downloaded and edited [2072.23] Frank: to make sense when it played audio only censored to please the itunes people hosted on the internet [2077.59] Frank: forwarded through to your podcast provider downloaded playing on your device and is now [2081.91] Frank: playing in your ears all thanks to our patreons consider joining them and you'll also get other [2087.43] Frank: online benefits find out more at patreon.com forward slash let's drone out but yeah uh i will [2094.63] Frank: also be bringing my baby trine not that it's had the tail tune since it was last reflashed [2101.51] Frank: i have many years ago so it probably won't fly but i'll bring it um i'm looking forward to seeing [2108.71] Frank: lergies uh [2115.11] Stephen: flying with three you don't know in the same direction yeah feedingly ambitious [2121.67] Stephen: we'll we'll find out i guess uh we'll be flying in circles that's how you'll spot him it would [2126.47] Frank: be the guy flying in tight circles angie is asking in the chat will there be a helipad [2134.07] Frank: ldo no he's bringing a fleet um i mean the the not quite a field hasn't been mown for [2142.87] Frank: about 10 years it's had some goats on it they might eat a helipad i don't know uh if we can [2150.55] Frank: sort of stake them in the middle and give them a short leash maybe they'll just kind of eat out [2155.83] Frank: a nice helipads area i was just saying you can just 3d it and just you just need a field [2163.03] Jack: yeah blend his own um yeah like you might want to keep the goats away from menace because he's [2171.59] Jack: he had the the old goat he might be slightly traumatized i i think the idea is to keep the [2177.43] Stephen: goats away from us anyway so okay nj says that we should lay some food out in h shape [2186.23] Frank: i'm not sure whether that's to mow out an h shape or whether the food is to go through the goat [2191.51] Stephen: and leave some markings of an h shape feed the goats some korma and then guide them [2201.83] Frank: yep um boy os what are you bringing anything exciting out of beauty told you know [2210.47] Stephen: i was going to try and get some rovers going oh yes that i've got two rovers three but one is [2217.83] Stephen: definitely an indoors one um i've got this tank that i've been meaning to work on for absolutely [2222.63] Stephen: ages it's got like an f7 in there and it's got the whole i now set up with compass and everything [2228.71] Stephen: i had a couple of cameras but i couldn't quite get the camera fixing properly and i think it's [2232.15] Stephen: still on d8 so i might move the tank over to express rrs and uh and upgrade it to the latest [2237.67] Jack: i now see if we can get that working man the not a mavic the sheldon's coming so sheldon can just [2249.3] Jack: but frank can you buy me some more props please so i saw someone else who did a not a mavic and [2255.62] Stephen: they had this funky little thing where they used the original props but they put a 3d printed [2260.34] Stephen: bit in that stopped the props rotating stop the blades rotating and just turn them into regular [2265.3] Jack: bi blades yeah we can't be asked for that not us f that i mean yeah the props flex and then just [2274.26] Jack: smash onto the side of the mavic anyway so it's had about three or four new top plates [2278.9] Stephen: hang on they flex and how would they hit the side of the mavic if they didn't hit it in its [2282.98] Jack: original form the arms are the same length aren't they uh they flex yeah once you flex down you've [2289.78] Jack: got this slight flaring out the back and they flex down and then hit the hit the back of the [2298.02] Jack: of the of the mavic that's you know because it's it's that shape it's triangular shaped [2304.26] Stephen: i think you're actually putting enough like deflection on the prop from punching it that [2309.7] Jack: you caused the tip of the to go down or up the side of the body yeah so you've got you've got [2316.9] Jack: like this angle uh yeah uh this angle usually it would clear and then as you go down it will hit [2324.98] Jack: the hit the bottom oops i can get the mavic hang on be cool to see it though he's there for sure [2332.47] Stephen: oh and he's off yeah so i've got a tank lurking around here somewhere but i can't remember where [2339.43] Stephen: i put it starting to tidy up trying to make this uh make it look presentable round it's hidden [2345.75] Jack: somewhere that happens on a weekly basis unfortunately i'm back i've got look at that full mavic pro [2354.55] Jack: look how sad that label there god damn these people make me sick we unfold it we uh oh god i've [2367.02] Jack: done it the wrong way hang on uh this ain't in the caa guidebook next week drone the correct way [2375.1] Stephen: yes they're only bringing out the guidance on chewing battery leaves next week right so you can [2379.66] Jack: see the back angles like a slight oh it's the actual body of the mavic so normally if you're [2386.7] Stephen: flying the propeller would be going up rather than down so how is the propeller going down [2394.97] Stephen: yeah yeah i get that but like so if you if you rivet the propeller is going to flex up at the tip [2400.97] Stephen: so how is it flexing down at the tip unless you're like flying in 3d mode upside down towards the [2407.21] Frank: ground oh you're flying in 3d Sheldon it's the motor braking means that the propeller isn't [2417.29] Frank: generating enough thrust and so it's being pushed by the air into the arm of the mavic [2425.45] Jack: yeah look see we kind of see you know now i see yeah yeah like you know you can kind of see the [2434.33] Jack: carnage that is being friends with Sheldon it involves um there was we were trying the old [2445.29] Jack: rust the center bits in salt water so that they rust and the props hold their shape [2452.73] Stephen: you're what hey so i was trying to say there's actually a 3d printed doodad that stops the [2459.13] Stephen: props folding like stops them folding in yeah but that's more expensive than salt and water [2468.04] Stephen: there's metal pins in there i think there's qualifiers that need to be added to that but [2472.12] Stephen: i'm not sure whether i want to be mr pedant [2477.72] Jack: well we discovered it from you know uh insurance drones coming back and their props being you know [2484.92] Jack: dunked in seawater could you know they would rust in place yeah yeah exactly like super glue or [2493.0] Jack: anything yeah but then you have to individually do it you know salt and water you know you just [2499.08] Jack: chuck them all in there laying out straight and then they rust to seizure [2506.76] Stephen: there's a certain terrifying logic to this but it's still terrifying yeah yeah that's that's it [2517.24] Stephen: uh so anyway mr tangus i would i would open him up he's got far too many screws [2524.68] Stephen: um so yeah there's there's i've got a camera there it looks like there's a baby ritel that [2529.48] Stephen: i've earmarked out and this is a cadex eos something which is rubbish i was going to [2534.52] Stephen: try and put the ritel inside there it's actually opening and i've opened it and there's a usb [2540.84] Stephen: extension lead for configuring the flight controller down there as well sort of all [2545.48] Stephen: floating around in there so usb extension lead yeah so you can like yeah plug in your laptop [2551.08] Stephen: inside and it takes a 2s in the bottom oh fantastic i modded it from the janky [2560.44] Stephen: connectors it comes with onto an xt 30 so i've got a little xt 30 on the bottom there doin doin doin [2566.12] Stephen: yeah it's fast but it's kind of cute and it's got a load of lead fishing weights in the nose [2570.92] Stephen: because it used to want to go which made it very difficult to fbv so did you just used to see sky [2579.0] Stephen: constant though pretty much well to be honest even if it's not sky it's an ultimate an [2584.92] Stephen: alternating view of ground sky ground sky ground sky which makes me want to hurl after about 10 [2589.16] Frank: seconds yeah i think that was carrie's experience with the open hd on the on the little car wasn't [2596.2] Stephen: it as well yeah yeah there's a reason people don't really fpv cars that they're kind of impossible to [2601.72] Frank: tune to the point where you're yeah fat sharks that's where they came from right there's cars [2607.24] Frank: around uh yeah going around the the paved racetracks little model cars that's that's where [2614.12] Stephen: fat sharks started i guess if you're a really nice paved racetrack and you don't have seams [2618.76] Stephen: and stuff that would exactly someone recommending the fimmy x8 mini i think i've seen a couple of [2624.04] Stephen: reviews for those up fimmy has been doing stuff a while now i must say i haven't really um [2629.32] Stephen: experimented with camera drones the good old fat shark day speaking of fat shark it looks like [2636.63] Stephen: they've uh they've just released the new shiny right shark bite hello spider [2644.87] Frank: i haven't i haven't seen anything about the new shark bite is that so so they've just put some [2649.83] Stephen: dedicated you know you used to have the old limb pit module that sat on the fan mountain kind of [2655.19] Stephen: major goals really front heavy and then had panel antennas on it well they've just released [2659.99] Stephen: these fat shark scalp goggles it looks like there's some pre-release versions that are being [2664.39] Stephen: flogged on guest fpv um and it's going to be a fat shark goggle that just does uh like shark bite [2672.71] Jack: yeah they're the old box goggles yeah you know they're only 250 bucks though which is hopeful [2679.03] Stephen: the trouble is there's only 50 bucks for this beta version it's not the final product there [2683.99] Stephen: they're these kind of like early release testing versions and so it's not really clear what they'll [2688.55] Stephen: stick at 250 or they're going to shoot up because 250 dollars if if we get a fair conversion should [2693.75] Stephen: come to about 180 quid which is it's pretty great yeah it's doable i know it's 1080p screen [2700.87] Stephen: in there as well isn't there yeah uh with no input so you're you're kind of you're a bit [2706.71] Stephen: f'd if you want to use them for anything else literally what i was going to ask is it got any [2710.79] Stephen: HDMI input with fat chunks pedigree but the first thing they do when they release a digital goggle [2718.63] Stephen: is they would absolutely get their existing customer base on board by including a analog [2723.59] Stephen: module bay but they appear to have just gone and not done that whatsoever because i'll say [2731.03] Stephen: they were telling people to go forth and propagate yeah i would have thought they'd want to [2737.19] Frank: make sure that not only because i mean that they're the fat shark it's not it's not like the [2741.91] Frank: uh uh you know tbs or someone who's like got to focus on selling the radio gear like yeah [2749.35] Frank: they've they've survived so far by selling goggles and let everyone else deal with the [2754.47] Frank: modules you'd have thought they'd have an HDMI input that could accept you know DJI stuff could [2761.03] Frank: accept open HD stuff could accept whatever you throw at it including you know phone laptop it [2769.99] Stephen: does give me a somewhat unfair impression of a fat shark but having seen divimath kind of step [2774.87] Stephen: up and start to push this HD zero stuff HD zero being the name of the actual divimath tech [2780.15] Stephen: behind all of this that makes it tick which is being rebranded by fat shark as [2785.11] Stephen: shark bite right now we're actually seeing HD zero start to appear as a brand name from divimath [2792.15] Stephen: which is akin to like rich wave start to step up and say you're now going to see rich wave [2798.95] Stephen: vtxes instead of you know fly with vtxes or happy model vtxes or whoever at the risk of [2808.31] Frank: sounding like an idiot what's or who is divimath what's so divimath are the people who make the [2814.39] Stephen: chipsets in these right so you know like all the analog kit all basically has the same [2820.95] Stephen: tuner on both ends that takes your signal and gives you the actually isolates the signal [2828.55] Stephen: let's see you send a composite signal from a camera and put it over the airwaves [2833.75] Stephen: or takes the signal off the airwaves and feed it out as a composite signal so that digital [2840.71] Stephen: solution also has a similar chip which is taking something from your mippy camera instead of a [2846.31] Stephen: composite signal i mean the early ones i think actually did take composite mippy is just this [2851.67] Stephen: like you know 20 pin ribbon cable thing that they use for digital cameras so kind of similar to what [2858.23] Stephen: dji uses mippy really describes the electrical connector more than the actual interface as far [2864.15] Frank: as i can okay so is it kind of like a embedded version of hdmi is it is that fair oh man it's [2873.19] Stephen: more like uh it's more like saying a db9 port or something well because it doesn't actually say [2880.87] Stephen: anything about the data that's carried across it right it just says like there's this many pins in [2884.95] Stephen: a plug so it's like it's saying it's a jst plug i guess would be a good oh right okay your camera [2891.27] Stephen: uses a jst plug and there's common conventions that go with that but obviously you can't plug [2895.51] Stephen: a shark by camera into a dji system even if the cable is the same so it sounds like a challenge [2900.63] Stephen: doesn't necessarily say that it's a signal compatible it's just socket compatible um [2908.31] Stephen: um yeah so so the people who who make all this stuff seem to be stepping up and coming out from [2913.75] Stephen: behind the shadows somewhat and and they're now starting to make more noise and it does look a [2919.27] Stephen: bit like fat shark just sort of moving very slowly on this one and the fact they weren't able to put [2926.39] Stephen: analog in with the digital solution makes it feel like they've really just taken a reference [2931.59] Stephen: implementation that the digital team's given them and just gone all right we'll put it in a shell [2936.87] Stephen: and we'll sell it and would it really have taken much effort for them to put a signal switcher in [2942.23] Stephen: there so they could switch in an analog signal as well well i mean i guess that kind of makes a bit [2947.27] Frank: of sense that you know to take analog and make that into something is gonna that's gonna be [2954.31] Frank: another bit of hardware i guess that's that's going to be quite different i don't know i just [2959.91] Frank: feel like you know maybe maybe that wouldn't be worth it oh well they've already presumably buying [2965.83] Frank: it in enough bulk and have all the connections and know how to do it they already produce goggles [2971.03] Stephen: with hdmi in yeah and they already have this module which runs with hdmi out so like why [2978.55] Stephen: couldn't they just have taken an existing pair of fat shark goggles and the shark bite module [2983.51] Stephen: and just put it all in a single case without an hdmi port exposed on the outside i would be [2990.23] Frank: interested to know if there is actually some you know there's there's usually some reasons [2996.23] Frank: behind this kind of thing jack you know some people do i that's why i'm saying it looks like [3004.23] Stephen: they've just taken a reference implementation and just chucked it in a case instead of actually [3008.31] Frank: engineering it we've what we've had some fat shark people on the show before yeah they won't [3014.39] Jack: come on again they hate us they hate me one of the two but um what like another thing that i've [3022.71] Jack: been sat here wondering is like what antennas go on those on those goggles because you know like [3030.39] Jack: the the little you know limpet module that you get for the normal fat sharks have got a nice [3036.23] Jack: little patch antenna i'm like they don't look like they come with antennas let alone patch or [3043.43] Stephen: otherwise so which which goggles these the scout goggles uh so i think someone was saying that [3051.51] Stephen: based on what we'd seen before they were kind of expecting the scout goggles to have a couple of [3055.83] Stephen: panel antennas in the front because that receiver box ships with it's got you know your sma mounts [3061.59] Stephen: on top but it includes two internal panel antennas at the front you know they're inside [3068.55] Stephen: yeah yeah fair enough and if you look at the shell of the scout that's a logical [3073.27] Stephen: goggle to choose if you want to wedge a couple of panels inside cool no worries i was just slightly [3079.11] Frank: confused by it you know just talking about patch antennas there uh makes you think about you know [3087.19] Frank: how there's you know been a sort of general development from sort of uh wound 3d bits of [3095.75] Frank: wire making antenna to having a pcb with traces on it and those traces being an antenna and there's [3102.71] Frank: been um a couple of projects that i've seen recently doing a similar sort of thing with motors [3109.51] Frank: so rather than having wound bits of copper uh wires making up a motor people have been working [3116.95] Frank: on making sort of traces on a pcb to be a motor because sort of as yeah with the little iron [3125.83] Stephen: rotor with magnets in there for low torque applications i'd have thought right presumably [3131.67] Frank: uh i feel like you're going to be fairly currently limited but if you have you know [3136.15] Stephen: uh i mean is it's your esc current limited because yeah pdb and all that kind of thing [3141.59] Frank: like you can get a lot of current going through a pcb um but that that could be brushless motors [3150.55] Stephen: right it sounds amazing for for stuff like whoops right and that's going to be where it'll end up [3155.35] Stephen: if anything and it makes me think of that really expensive little prototype quad that has a bunch [3161.67] Stephen: of python scripts with it was it called the flyway or fly mini or something that was very expensive [3168.31] Stephen: and it was around years ago and it was there was a trend a while ago for things where the arms were [3174.07] Stephen: part of the pcb i don't know if you remember those tiny little quads yeah this all looks quite [3179.91] Stephen: neat let's get oh yeah that's not too shabby is it it looks like he's moving a decent chunk of math [3186.47] Frank: yeah 2.3 grams centimeters that's not it's got you know the old square wave on the go [3196.39] Frank: for a first for a first draft it's not bad yeah not bad at all the esc built on board [3205.43] Stephen: it's nice anything that can keep the weight down and make it cheaper to manufacture it's [3209.51] Stephen: going to be good right i wonder if that's kind of more of a servo-y kind of thing [3216.87] Stephen: i forgot i was not impressed in the in the chat sounds like someone might have some experience [3221.19] Frank: with those carolina was not impressed with pcb brushes motors that's a shame well maybe give it [3229.43] Stephen: a year or two yeah i mean it depends on the application i think a lot of stuff you could [3235.51] Stephen: probably live with the fragility as long as you keep the weight down so that the impact force is [3240.31] Stephen: is really small but obviously you get to like anything above like two and a half inch props [3245.99] Frank: it's going to be smashed to pieces also think about the the cost difference because i mean like [3250.71] Frank: have you seen the machine you need to wind a motor and people always annoyed that the tiny [3256.47] Stephen: motors aren't cheaper but it's taking the same machinery and pretty much the same you know [3261.83] Stephen: magnets and labor to to wind an 0802 as it takes some wind job like 2306 so [3271.67] Frank: so yeah to be able to just go ah it's going in the pcb process which again i mean it's not a [3278.55] Frank: small cheap easy process but it's the scale at which you can do things is just enormous [3286.79] Stephen: i'm sure people like ggi be happy to get on that because they don't care if their stuff breaks do [3290.87] Stephen: they it's just uh just more money for the warranty program cool yeah i mean that's that's [3297.19] Frank: probably because it's not going to be massive talk for a dgi thing is it it's going to be [3302.07] Frank: they don't have a 10 to 1 thrust to weight ratio do they so they don't do aggressive maneuvering [3307.35] Frank: either it's pretty sloppy maneuvering isn't it yeah that's that's pretty cool could be interesting [3314.71] Frank: to see especially i don't know if it would make it more miniaturized or not because i mean if you [3320.55] Frank: having to put it on a and traces on a pcb you're gonna have minimum spacing on there compared to [3326.71] Stephen: just like enameled copper wire i guess it depends if the pcb could be structural as well [3335.11] Stephen: and if you go really small then your pcb could be structural [3339.67] Stephen: it needs to be super small though what's jack what are you taping together down there [3344.87] Jack: oh sorry i was just putting it away before i lost it are you getting out the gaffer tape there [3352.79] Jack: no um checking out the sin rn i will you check out i've always been thinking about those um [3367.74] Stephen: synchronous reluctance motors apparently i was thinking about those those motors that zoe fpv [3372.86] Stephen: was banging on about ages ago she she was talking about some fantastic intelligent motor i think it [3378.3] Stephen: kind of included the esc in the motor there were some yeah some very precisely driven things [3384.54] Frank: i've been i've been following a lot of projects recently with a technology that zoe fpv was [3390.46] Frank: talking about uh when she was you know wanted to make 3d quads much better and basically be able [3398.06] Frank: to have much better air mode on on 3d quads was uh phrase that i had in my head seconds ago [3413.9] Frank: field-oriented control foc um so this is where you've got basically a censored motor so there's [3423.18] Frank: a uh a magnet on on your rotor of your motor and then there's a sensor on that using that to know [3431.42] Frank: exactly how in what position your motor is at any second this these for they yeah so rather than [3438.86] Frank: just using oh if you know the because usually your esc doesn't actually know whether your motor is in [3447.98] Frank: pointing directly north or whether it's 30 degrees out or where it is it just knows oh the the [3456.14] Frank: magnetic field has changed or something right exactly it's just going you know the the the [3463.74] Frank: field has changed so therefore i'll switch the field the other way um or to the next field um [3471.1] Frank: so but putting on this extra little sensor means that you know exactly what position it's in and [3477.66] Frank: so you don't have to wait for the voltage to to drop you can just manually sort of adjust it [3485.82] Frank: on the fly even when it's not spinning really fast because that's what if you if you watch a [3491.74] Frank: slo-mo video of a normal motor on a quad actually spool up from being stationary you'll see it kind [3501.02] Frank: of flap back and forth for a bit until it's fast enough and it's kind of built up enough momentum [3506.7] Stephen: that it it's that the air seems on crawlers people favor brushed motors because they talk [3511.9] Stephen: about this cogging at low speeds where you can actually watch the poles kind of chug past the [3517.66] Stephen: motor and then you get very bad control because you don't tend to have kind of full-on sinusoidal [3523.66] Stephen: control and you don't know where the poles are so this is a phenomenon you get at slow speeds [3527.9] Stephen: where you're just jumping between the poles and when you get up to a certain speed that's just [3531.82] Stephen: averaged out and it vanishes but at slow speeds that cogging where you're you're far enough away [3537.66] Stephen: from a pole that you kind of leap towards it and then you slow and then you chug onto the next one [3542.14] Frank: it's kind of unavoidable unless you have sensors right yeah but it also means you can do other [3549.18] Frank: funky things so uh tom stanton did this one with the with his he had a helicopter with a [3558.38] Frank: compliant mechanism it might not be a complaint mechanism might have just been a couple of hinges [3564.22] Frank: so that instead of having a servo actuating the blades it was just speeding up and slowing down [3569.74] Frank: the motor as it was you know micro pulsing the motor yeah it was micro torque pulsing the motor [3577.1] Stephen: and he had the blades on a hinge so that when he torqued the blades it would alter the pitch [3582.22] Stephen: so he could actually get collective control of the blades yes without having a servo for [3589.34] Frank: exactly that's that's that's exactly that is mind-blowing that is so cool i would love to have [3596.14] Frank: like my dream would be to take the wing that i've built and haven't successfully flown yet [3601.66] Frank: after however many years it's taken me to build it i'm wrong well it just sits there waiting for [3609.26] Frank: me to take it out because it's it's gonna need gonna need a day of me learning well relearning [3615.34] Frank: how to tune stuff in the autopilot and actually doing it for that um but i would love to take [3621.18] Frank: that and do that with that so instead of having just the two servos doing um thrust factoring of [3627.66] Frank: the two motors on the back of the wing if it if it was just the torque pulsing so there were just [3633.26] Frank: literally only two moving parts on the entire wing that would be amazing i wish i could find i'm [3640.14] Stephen: scrolling through zoe's fp zoe fpv's feed now trying to find the name of these special motors [3645.34] Stephen: that were this all in one like sense it was a long time ago yeah but evidently they didn't [3652.14] Stephen: find the mass market they wanted i think she wanted something like a hundred dollars a motor [3656.3] Stephen: and i guess that was just a hard no for for most people i mean for x x class stuff that's probably [3662.7] Stephen: not too bad is it oh but these were only like 22 size they were they were pricey but they had [3670.78] Stephen: that fantastic control so you could just because the trouble with 3d tends to be you need to really [3676.38] Stephen: work very hard to control that point where you where you're changing from 3d to 2d is it you get [3684.06] Stephen: this cruddy transition so yeah apparently you can style your way through it if you're a good pilot [3693.26] Stephen: and you kind of give yourself a bit of hang time in between the two of them i've iq motors yes [3698.06] Stephen: someone says in the chat that's the one iq motors i've tried doing 3d a bunch of times it's fun [3702.62] Stephen: they always crash but the transitions are definitely rough yeah i mean the other thing is [3708.94] Frank: i actually watched a very to write video this week um i i enjoyed it quite a bit it was this uh bone [3716.3] Frank: drone uh where where they've uh it was someone else has come up with the concept but they [3723.9] Frank: made a version of it so you sort of move your motors basically in line with each other so you [3730.7] Frank: just got a sort of cartoon bone with two motors at one end two motors at the other so they're very [3736.7] Stephen: very slightly offset imagine when people say compressed x they just take the piss and they [3743.26] Stephen: compress it so much they have to put one motor upside down so the prop doesn't hit the motor [3747.74] Frank: next to it exactly that's kind of what you're getting at and and so you've just got this this [3753.74] Frank: long very long thin drone i just thought that looks that look great that's absolutely up my [3759.9] Frank: street of weird builds um as you can see it is a sausage quad so i i quite like the [3772.54] Frank: look of that i would quite like to make a sort of x-class size one of those [3776.86] Stephen: and i think that could be quite fun so yeah i found iq control not very confused [3786.6] Jack: but uh yeah it kind of hang on let's have a look at [3791.16] Stephen: hang on uh there's some it flying yeah i can't believe i think van over was it who got it [3799.19] Stephen: through this gap and it's just an absolute piss take gap that's hilarious they keep getting [3808.06] Frank: cleaner and cleaner as i go on it's an impressive video you should watch it yeah it's nice to see [3814.22] Stephen: they're actually building new interesting stuff and not just trying to wedge in a product and [3818.46] Stephen: now i do like it when they take these odd concepts and they really push them and go for it [3822.62] Stephen: some good stuff there i think they had some kind of flying getting flying race skates in the past [3828.46] Stephen: right they built this huge flying race skate flew through it i feel like this is the sort of thing [3835.98] Stephen: that i should be doing with the laser cutter yeah make your own frames they're wild do something [3842.62] Stephen: a bit nutty what what the thing is is like what a flying race skate for ldo no make a flying race [3850.54] Frank: gate a hovering gate hmm it's very tempting but i feel like i may have already overcommitted on [3858.78] Frank: things that i said i would prepare for ldno so all right you're like actually on the end of the [3864.54] Stephen: laser cutter and it's going to be running solid 23 hours a day for the next three weeks i would [3872.74] Stephen: love to do that but it's unlikely i found these iq motors on mouser who wants to guess how much [3879.78] Stephen: in iq motorist well on mouser it's a 2306 2200 kv uh 130 pounds actually no [3892.9] Stephen: oh it's 64 quid yeah but but it weighs 114 grams [3904.26] Stephen: it's almost as much as four regular motors but you don't need near sea so is that yeah [3909.78] Frank: but my ears aren't that heavy right i guess it looks pretty awesome [3918.79] Frank: fusi you don't have to run a lead some long signal wires [3923.51] Stephen: presumably yeah it's got a uart in there apparently you can program this it runs [3929.67] Stephen: a d shot 1200 so it'll do the regular d shot stuff which is kind of cool [3936.15] Stephen: do you see it doesn't look bloody cool um i'm putting links in the chat let me just dump it [3943.43] Frank: when are you doing your your can bus quads jack no no one's released one [3952.5] Stephen: well no one's released one they've really got can bus in inaf haven't they [3956.34] Jack: an argy pilot certainly has well i don't like all the pilot all it does is like scream at you [3962.42] Frank: about what centers you do or don't have you do not have the correct qualification to fly this [3969.62] Jack: step away look at these man look at this beasts this is some serious some serious stuff [3981.06] Stephen: yeah just feed it straight from the pdb oh go down a bit i want to see the the geodesic structure [3993.29] Stephen: it's not really that impressive they just sort of wedged against a wall [3996.97] Stephen: okay maybe a bit of string just out of shot not really how flying's meant to work no no [4005.93] Jack: showed how the sausage is made by getting rid of it how much the thing is with that shot is [4014.47] Stephen: at no point can you see the top of it so there could just be a bloke with a bit of string [4018.55] Jack: no they do they do show look when it drops back down you can no they don't know no no they do [4025.91] Jack: staying at a shop look look here oh come on no they could have they could have hidden a string [4033.51] Jack: in those pixels there all right on that note it's uh the end of the show um guys you've been [4042.15] Jack: you've been listening to uh another episode of lecher drone out and uh it will be six years next [4048.79] Jack: episode i believe um massive shout out to all our patrons that keep us going thank you caroline for [4055.59] Jack: the uh the super chat we we appreciate it uh you've been joined by our lord master andres [4062.07] Jack: at frank hi do you want to give another shout out to ldo no we full uh i mean we might be able to [4069.91] Frank: squeeze in a couple more people but it's pretty tight it's pretty exclusive club uh if you're [4077.99] Frank: desperate drop us a message let's run out at gmail.com uh or wherever else you can find us [4086.71] Jack: so and we've been joined by steven thanks guys it's weird not saying bellrick anymore [4094.15] Jack: whatever man if he's there in the after the bellrick cv track it's okay [4100.79] UNKNOWN: oh thank you thank you um and i've been bright sci-fi thank you guys and good night bye bye thanks guys
