[91.43] Tony: Yeah. And there was a massive fire on my way home when I was driving. I don't know what was on fire, but something was on fire. Just people, people have started bursting into flames now.
[105.95] Frank: That's, that's, that's what Jack's busy doing. He's just got the fire extinguisher out just, you know, he's got like, like all those lipos on his windowsill. He's got like a bucket of isopropanol. He's got his little ultrasonic cleaner full of isopropanol with added fire.

[296.15] Stephen: You've got to punch out the supports. And if you get the head speed to move when it's not printing faster than it moves when it is printing, you can reduce the stringing.

[308.15] Stephen: Yeah, you get the head to sprint between places where it's printing as fast as possible, then it like snaps the little stringy bits and they don't get drawn across the gap.
[317.15] Tony: This is what exactly why I buy them and just get one of these.
[322.15] Curry: Well, yeah, as now, like happily used by Andy, I see.
[326.15] Curry: And this is my first TPU.
[328.15] Stephen: Yeah. And then you'll come.
[331.15] Stephen: It'll be great until it spends too much time in the sun and degrades and the UV and falls apart.
[337.15] Curry: It's not resin. That's the mass tech thing.
[340.15] Stephen: I thought you were pointing at the resin printer.
[343.15] Stephen: Oh, God.
[344.15] Curry: Not a controlled environment printer.
[346.15] Curry: They offered me a resin printer.
[348.15] Curry: And I talked to Frank. I said, Frank, resin printers are no good for FPV, are they?
[351.15] Curry: And Frank said, no.
[353.15] Curry: They'll go crappy in the sun because that's how you cure them.
[356.15] Curry: And I was like, Oh, okay. So that's FDM.
[358.15] Curry: But my previous one couldn't print TPU.
[360.15] Curry: And this one can.
[361.15] Stephen: And that's the printer way you can get like live a slow mo or rather time lapse videos of your print and view on your phone.
[370.15] Stephen: But you need to pay a subscription service.
[372.15] Stephen: Have you managed to hack it open and figure out how to control it without the Creality uber brain intruding on your printing?
[380.15] Curry: Yes, I got so far.
[382.15] Curry: And this I might leave it a couple of weeks just in case you're still watching and I got upset with me.
[386.15] Curry: But there's there's there's a web interface to it on a port.
[390.15] Curry: If you guess the admin password of admin and they've got an interface there to the camera, but that doesn't work.
[396.15] Curry: However, there's also a telnet server running.
[399.15] Curry: But then you have to try and guess the password to that, which I can't guess.
[402.15] Curry: But I think because I also found a way to execute shell commands via the web interface.
[407.15] Curry: But I can't pipe things out into a file from a web interface.
[412.15] Curry: So I think what I need to do is chuck a script on the SD card and execute it via that to change the root password in that way.
[421.15] Curry: There's no stopping you, Kerry.
[423.15] Curry: Yeah, but I wasn't in a rush because it's not a huge hassle for me versus my other printer to take my SD card and go,
[431.15] Curry: Oh, I have to lean backwards a bit to do it.
[434.15] Curry: It was just I think it's quite nice to have the time lapse, but I want to do it from my desktop, not the phone.
[439.15] Curry: So you've got the option there with these types of taking the firmware off of it and putting something on akin to like octoprint or stuff like that.
[452.15] Curry: But then you do lose the functionality of the app.
[455.15] Curry: But it's a question of do you want the app.
[457.15] Curry: So I'll play around with it at the moment.
[460.15] Curry: I might get around to eventually everything at the moment.

[507.15] Curry: I think it's an interesting thing to go there with one quad given that it is a massive vendor.
[516.15] Curry: With lots of sticky out bits and holes to get stuck on.
[519.15] Curry: And Jack's famous for just like reversing onto a hill and calling it a house.
[525.15] Frank: But then they'll get to spend the entire weekend rebuilding things.
[529.15] Curry: Or climbing up big machines trying to find his quad.

[538.15] Tony: He normally lobs his chair and stuff.
[540.15] Stephen: Speaking of multiple quads, guys, you've never guessed what I've had an urge to do.

[550.15] Stephen: Yeah, you wouldn't have believed it, but it happened.
[553.15] Curry: Officially, just to let people know, Cole is coming across because he's your dodgy mule for getting the price.
[564.15] Stephen: It's been a hot pile of carbon action, the yellow.

[569.15] Tony: Smuggling props.
[571.15] Stephen: You can't get it in the UK.
[575.15] Stephen: So, yeah, I started with this. Oh, my God, what a pretty quad.
[578.15] Stephen: Oh, it's a lovely yellow and a color coordinated.
[581.15] Stephen: It's never been.
[582.15] Stephen: And this is a Recon 5, which was the last word in light long range as of 18 months ago.
[590.15] Stephen: But it flew like a plate of jelly on a hot day.
[595.15] Stephen: It was really frustrating to tune.
[597.15] Stephen: And actually, for a long range, there's not a lot of space for a battery.
[600.15] Stephen: That's a GoPro mount bolt there.
[602.15] Stephen: It's not terribly big.
[603.15] Stephen: So quite a struggle to actually fit any sizable battery on there.
[608.15] Stephen: So I swapped it all over.
[610.15] Stephen: And I went, instead of the French connection, I went for British.
[614.15] Stephen: British.
[615.15] Stephen: British Rome with Chris Rosser's AOS 5 long range, which is like his ultra light.
[622.15] Stephen: But as you can see, it's a bit dead catty.
[624.15] Stephen: So you get those props out of you.
[626.15] Stephen: So that's the latest little beastie.
[629.15] Stephen: And strangely enough, the fact it's got a lot of space for batteries.
[632.15] Curry: I swapped it all over, but you seem to have two completely built quads there.
[635.15] Curry: So when you say swapped it all over, I just brought some more parts and built another quad.
[639.15] Stephen: I changed the motors because I felt like going 6S, that one was 4S.
[643.15] Stephen: So I went from the T-motor 2203.5 on like 2,700 kV for 4S to the RC in power 2105.
[655.15] Stephen: So from 2203.5 to a 2105 at 1,850 kV for 6S because I just had a lot of 6S cells.
[665.15] Stephen: And I was not convinced that, well, I just fancified buying more random crap.
[671.15] Stephen: Who am I lying to?
[672.15] Stephen: So we've got new motors here.
[674.15] Stephen: So it's a little 6S ripper, fun times.
[677.15] Tony: What are you bringing?
[679.15] Stephen: So I'm bringing this, which is a 5-inch ultra light.
[683.15] Stephen: And then I'm bringing, obviously, everyone needs a regular 5-inch.
[687.15] Stephen: So that one apparently has an iFlight twin G, and good thing too,
[691.15] Stephen: because iFlight sold them as twin gyros with one of the gyros bound to blow up.
[696.15] Stephen: This one did blow up.
[697.15] Stephen: It also had a bit of metal stuck in one of the back motors.
[700.15] Stephen: Don't know how long it's been there, but it was causing quite a bit of trouble.
[704.15] Stephen: So that is now running on the second of the two gyros and is a happy bunny.
[709.15] Stephen: Then I will also be bringing the 5.5-inch, a little bit more cruisy,
[714.15] Stephen: a little bit more leisurely, not quite so crazy high rate.
[717.15] Stephen: And then wireless headset.
[720.15] Tony: Is that a big one in the background?

[745.82] Stephen: Failsafe said he wanted someone to run a stall where they would show off avatar,
[750.82] Stephen: and therefore he needed someone with a partially built quad.

[755.82] Stephen: There's an AOS 3.5 that keeps breaking on me.
[759.82] Stephen: So that's going to get an avatar HD thing in there for flying.
[762.82] Stephen: And then we've also got just several small micros that happen to be in my pocket.

[1132.34] Curry: It came into some nonsense like, well, at Tesla, they do it with robots.

[1141.34] Stephen: You could do that in any random body shop without screwing it up, couldn't you?

[1148.34] Curry: So, yeah, it was a comment.
[1150.34] Curry: Yeah, we're doing some annoyances.

[1155.34] Curry: This is my worst year for having family things that are going on and on.

[1196.34] Curry: and then going back there because we didn't check out the first time well enough.

[1212.34] Curry: Mostly because I keep driving that sort of distance on a weekly basis at the moment.

[1224.34] Curry: else she tells me I'm doing everything wrong all the way up there,
[1227.34] Curry: which is a bit grating after 200 miles.

[1255.34] Curry: I did that thing with the little thing that looked like the little black hornet.
[1260.34] Curry: And a bunch of people told me,

[1266.34] Curry: And I thought I should try that because I can't fly helicopters,
[1269.34] Curry: so I should immediately buy myself some 3D one and smash it into the ground.

[1275.34] Frank: The ground and then the ceiling and then the ground and then the ceiling, yeah?
[1278.34] Curry: Yeah, it was fun enough to fly that little silly one around
[1283.34] Curry: because I found out that flying line of sight in a helicopter
[1285.34] Curry: is so much more easy than the quad because it looks different.
[1290.34] Tony: It looks different, doesn't it?
[1292.34] Curry: You know, those quads, they just look like Xs.
[1294.34] Curry: traditional uniformity.
[1296.34] Stephen: They look like helicopters.
[1298.34] Stephen: Bugger, isn't it?

[1300.34] Curry: I thought I'm going to try it.
[1301.34] Curry: So I'll start off slow.
[1303.34] Curry: Just try flying it without the upside-downy bits
[1308.34] Curry: and then build up slowly if it survives.
[1312.34] Curry: I have had a look at it.
[1313.34] Curry: It does feel rather flimsy,
[1314.34] Curry: but people tell me that you can smash it into the ground
[1316.34] Curry: and it doesn't break into a million pieces.
[1318.34] Curry: Is it a brushless one?
[1320.34] Curry: I don't think it is, actually.
[1322.34] Stephen: Because that 110 size would be on the cusp of low-end brushless versus brush.
[1327.34] Curry: It says, large torque, coreless motor.
[1330.34] Curry: That means brushed, yeah.
[1333.34] Curry: And then here, it says 1106 powerful brushless motor.
[1336.34] Curry: Oh, maybe it's got a brushed motor on the tail
[1340.34] Stephen: and the main rotor is brushless.
[1342.34] Curry: Yeah, I don't know.
[1344.34] Curry: Anyway, I thought that would be fun.
[1346.34] Curry: Give me some new project.

[1349.34] Curry: Although, didn't I realise that I'll have to film with the GoPro
[1352.34] Curry: and the GoPro in wider in a helicopter this big
[1354.34] Curry: unless I'm flying a one-inch from my face.

[1358.34] Stephen: Wait a minute, you do full 3D six foot in front of your face.
[1361.34] Stephen: Yeah, that would be fun.
[1363.34] Frank: If you're doing it line of sight, though,
[1365.34] Frank: can you not do the trick of having the camera on your head?

[1371.34] Stephen: Just put one of those giant plexiglass face shields in front of you.

[2228.34] Stephen: got a little monitor here which he's got for his giant octo
[2231.34] Stephen: so I could kind of keep an eye on it.
[2232.34] Stephen: And he did a couple of batteries.

[2235.34] Stephen: I suggested he should have the last flight
[2238.34] Stephen: and predictably it kind of went over into another field

[2314.34] Stephen: You know, you've got to keep it somewhere where you don't lose signal

[2370.34] Stephen: What we need to do is to make every OpenTX or HDX radio
[2374.34] Stephen: come with Bluetooth by default,
[2376.34] Stephen: and then just that functionality can be table stakes
[2380.34] Stephen: for every single radio, and you know it's going to work,
[2382.34] Stephen: and it would just be used much more widely.
[2384.34] Stephen: The instant you have to mess around and try and find jack cables
[2387.34] Stephen: and figure out if they work or not,
[2389.34] Stephen: it all just kind of goes out the window.

[2944.34] Stephen: needs a ton of different voltages to actually make it function.

[2952.34] Stephen: It needs a ton of different voltages internally
[2955.34] Stephen: so they've got a whole load of different BEX

[2959.34] Stephen: when you try and cram that many different voltage rails into something.

[3011.34] Curry: and I tried multiple times to make it work with Gyroflow
[3016.34] Curry: and whenever I put it into Gyroflow, it would just get worse.

[3019.34] Curry: Because all the Gyro data,
[3021.34] Curry: you can see it literally going out in different stages.
[3025.34] Curry: People are happy with the Pro,
[3028.34] Curry: but they're a little bit, I think, quite justifiably upset
[3031.34] Curry: that they launched this camera,
[3033.34] Curry: they used this sort of buzzword of like,
[3035.34] Curry: works with Gyroflow and people are like,
[3036.34] Curry: oh, that's good.
[3037.34] Curry: It's cheap and it's 1080p, 60, we all buy that.
[3039.34] Curry: Loads of people bought it.
[3041.34] Curry: Didn't get very good results from it.
[3043.34] Curry: And then they're like, oh, don't worry about that.
[3045.34] Curry: Here's a Pro version.
[3046.34] Curry: We've gone back and we've done it
[3048.34] Curry: and now it works better, which is all very good.
[3050.34] Curry: But I did ask them, I said,
[3053.34] Curry: what are you going to do about all these people
[3054.34] Curry: that have got the original
[3056.34] Curry: and a bit upset about it?
[3058.34] Curry: Are you going to give an upgrade
[3059.34] Curry: or are you going to fix it?
[3060.34] Curry: And they've insisted that you're going to continue to work
[3064.34] Curry: on the firmware and have it work better with Gyroflow.

[3074.34] Jack: especially when you didn't take the initial Gyro

[3108.34] Curry: I'm not doing 4K because 4K only goes to 30 frames a second.

[3119.34] Curry: because it was a bit stuttery even at 30
[3121.34] Curry: and he was using 2.7K 60.
[3124.34] Curry: So I did that and that gives it enough resolution.
[3126.34] Curry: So when it does zoom in,
[3128.34] Curry: if you did that at 1080p,
[3129.34] Curry: you'd end up with like horrible blocks and stuff
[3132.34] Curry: at 2.7K is okay for doing that.
[3134.34] Curry: But yeah, the test is going to be,
[3136.34] Curry: how will it do on a five inch?
[3137.34] Curry: Because lots of people want to put it on a five inch,
[3141.34] Curry: not because they're like, oh, this is better than a GoPro,
[3145.34] Curry: but because they don't want to risk a GoPro.
[3148.34] Curry: They want a nice cheap camera, which is okay.
[3150.34] Stephen: Outside the States,
[3151.34] Stephen: you can't just take it back to a supermarket
[3153.34] Stephen: and get it replaced.

[3157.34] Curry: And yeah, I managed to replace my GoPro once.

[3246.34] Curry: That is my theory, because what Runcam said to you is
[3250.34] Curry: it would do 1080 60 and they said put it on 1080 50
[3254.34] Curry: if you're going to do gyro,
[3256.34] Curry: which kind of says to me already that
[3258.34] Curry: there's not a few cycles to do this.
[3260.34] Curry: And the facts, it's all going.
[3264.34] Curry: It was just the fact that when I got the new one
[3267.34] Curry: and had a look at it and everything just matched up lovely,
[3270.34] Curry: it's like this first one is obviously writing out crap
[3273.34] Curry: and the gyro flow can't, you know,
[3275.34] Curry: it's crappy and crap out sort of thing.
[3278.34] Stephen: I mean, you can record all the gyro data in the world,
[3281.34] Stephen: but if it's not synced to the video, it's crap all used, right?
[3284.34] Curry: Exactly.
[3285.34] Curry: People like writing the video like,
[3286.34] Curry: why don't you do a black box recording?
[3288.34] Curry: And it's because I don't have hours to do this for a not very good,
[3295.34] Curry: you know, I want something easy.
[3296.34] Curry: And already, if you're just doing like the easiest thing,
[3299.34] Curry: which for me was put it into gyro flow,
[3302.34] Curry: do an auto sync takes about three minutes.
[3305.34] Curry: Do we're clicking a few buttons.
[3308.34] Curry: We're taking mostly the defaults and we're saying render.
[3311.34] Curry: That's about 10 minutes.
[3312.34] Curry: So we're still extra stuff.
[3314.34] Curry: We're doing like, you know,
[3315.34] Curry: 13 minutes is long enough extra on top of what I would be doing.
[3319.34] Curry: Because don't forget, this is per video and you'll go out
[3322.34] Curry: and you do, you know, four, eight flights,
[3325.34] Curry: weren't you and stuff.
[3326.34] Curry: And then you might want to not use Stephen
[3328.34] Curry: because you never do videos too lazy.
[3331.34] Curry: But if you're making, if you're going to make a video of your flight
[3335.34] Curry: over FPV drone fish, you'd want to do all the recording.
[3337.34] Curry: You'd run it all through gyro flow.
[3339.34] Curry: You'd be an extra couple of hours of processing just to go
[3342.34] Curry: and then look at this stuff in an editor and decide what's good.
[3345.34] Curry: So you don't want to have to spend even more time bringing black box
[3350.34] Curry: recordings manually trying to sync this to get it right.
[3354.34] Curry: And then even when you're flying, you'd be like,
[3356.34] Curry: I must get that black box data off and then delete all the black box data.
[3360.34] Curry: So I'm ready for the next one.
[3361.34] Curry: And then I have to write down on some note paper about what's what.
[3364.34] Stephen: And we've had some people say, oh, you might need to play with a low pass filter,
[3368.34] Stephen: but you you're running like 43 Hertz low pass.
[3371.34] Stephen: So quite a quite aggressive filtering.
[3375.34] Curry: I wasn't on that one because I hadn't given any information about the low pass
[3380.34] Curry: on the original we were because RunCam said do it.
[3383.34] Curry: And then other people said, don't do that.
[3385.34] Curry: I think the problem is, as soon as something doesn't work quite right,
[3389.34] Curry: then there's like legend builds up about how you process it.
[3393.34] Curry: And, you know, it's the manufacturer should step up and say,
[3398.34] Stephen: this is the settings that we used.
[3400.34] Stephen: These are results that we get.
[3402.34] Stephen: Here's the best practice, but they rarely do.
[3405.34] Stephen: They leave the community to figure out what the best practice is,
[3408.34] Stephen: which sucks because then you're like, who do I trust more?
[3411.34] Stephen: This person in the community, this other person is horrible.
[3416.34] Curry: Yeah, absolutely.
[3417.34] Curry: It comes down again to I think we talked about it before.
[3421.34] Curry: It's basic functional testing.
[3423.34] Curry: If RunCam had gone out and flown that seriously,
[3426.34] Curry: then they'd have said, this mounts no good.
[3429.34] Curry: This is all wobbly.
[3430.34] Curry: Get rid of that one.
[3431.34] Curry: Use the TPU one for starters.
[3433.34] Curry: And then they'd have done testing on various squads
[3435.34] Curry: and they'd have put it into Jaroflow and said, oh, this makes worse than Jaroflow.
[3438.34] Curry: There must be something wrong.
[3439.34] Curry: Let's go back and look at the firmware and see what's going on and fix it.
[3443.34] Curry: But they never did.
[3444.34] Curry: They just said, look, it writes Jaroflow.
[3446.34] Curry: That's a buzzword.
[3447.34] Curry: Tick.
[3448.34] Curry: Let's get it out there for sale.
[3450.34] Curry: Loads of people buy it.
[3451.34] Curry: And then it gets into this annoying thing where some people are saying,

[3458.34] Curry: You just have to spend four hours.
[3460.34] Curry: The amount of time they want me to spend on it,
[3463.34] Curry: I could literally draw each frame with a mouse and stuff and say, there it is.
[3468.34] Stephen: Considering RunCam didn't bother to go to Jaroflow
[3471.34] Stephen: and create a profile that actually suited their hardware,
[3474.34] Stephen: which would have been trivial for them to do, I think.
[3477.34] Stephen: Yeah, they should have done the lens profile.

[3481.34] Stephen: Mr. Death FPV has some fit bits there.
[3483.34] Stephen: He says he's getting good results.
[3485.34] Stephen: But it sounds like that's kind of detective work you've got to do as an end user.
[3490.34] Stephen: And that's not good enough when you say that your product supports something.
[3493.34] Stephen: You should provide an example of how to use it.

[3498.34] Curry: The fact that you've got this camera and it's easy,

[3506.34] Stephen: And for most people, spending it for 20 or 30 quid to get one that just works,
