[354.82] Koel: wavetable synthesizer in the garbage at this random apartment and uh
[361.46] Koel: I was like, well i'm gonna take that and I don't know why but I just wanted to do it. So

[368.42] Koel: It had a very non-standard plug on the back and uh where I was living at a time in toronto
[373.94] Koel: There was a guy a german guy next door who his son. Well, his name was helmet
[378.74] Koel: Or helmet and uh, his son happened to be in electronics and he put a standardized three, you know, like the whatever kind of
[386.42] Koel: Power cables in the back of like a computer like the three prong kind of whatever so he iced
[391.94] Stephen: ic
[393.22] Stephen: Whichever one it didn't plug for power or something did it?
[396.5] Koel: Yeah, it's like the two and then the ground at the bottom or whatever. It's like this sort of like yeah

[404.1] Koel: Yeah, so he so he slapped that on there for me and this was way before I knew anything about electronics. So

[415.62] Koel: But the problem is this is a 1985 synthesizer that has the same original button or cell. Um
[423.14] Koel: A coin cell battery from 1985. So all of the memory all of the programmed
[430.02] Koel: Sounds and whatnot. They they're forgotten every time the thing is turned back off

[439.22] Koel: And the confidence I guess to replace this because it's it's a weird. Uh
[444.02] Koel: It's a very weird sort of way that it's like a coin cell battery with some terminals stuck onto it

[454.1] Koel: Taken this board out and i've now put on this coin cell

[1269.24] Stephen: With my uh full-on radiomaster shill gear on and yeah, it's fantastic. It's
[1275.96] Stephen: I think it's everything that I kind of wanted but didn't know I wanted because i've been using my little yellow radio for ages
[1282.6] Stephen: And I thought oh, that's fine because I
[1285.16] Stephen: I could use the gimbals and hit the extremes the gimbals quite easily on that whereas the tx16s. I was always like
[1292.92] Stephen: trying to balance this great lump of a radio and I could never really kind of
[1298.76] Stephen: Use the gimbals fully. It was always like
[1302.84] Stephen: You know working around the mass of the body of the radio and I never I didn't really find a comfortable position where I get
[1309.96] Stephen: Full throw on the gimbals but with the boxer for whatever reason
[1313.72] Stephen: And I can just do that. I don't feel like i'm having to constantly like
[1318.84] Stephen: move this
[1320.2] Stephen: giant lump of radio around
[1323.16] Stephen: To to use the gimbals and so it just it feels great feels really really good. Um

[1331.96] Stephen: Of how good gimbals radiomaster do as well. Like i've had a couple of jumper radios and
[1338.36] Stephen: they've creaks literally
[1341.16] Stephen: I had to change the gimbals on the t light because they just started creaking and my t8
[1346.84] Stephen: The gimbals started creaking and they're really kind of
[1350.36] Stephen: I think that's the one thing i've got against plastic gimbals that they develop a bit of creakiness over time
[1355.4] Stephen: even the wall effect ones they just kind of
[1358.12] Stephen: Start to deform or weave it and you get this sort of
[1363.64] Stephen: In the gimbal
[1365.08] Stephen: Um, and it's got none of that. It's it's absolutely lovely
[1367.88] Stephen: So yeah, I configured my telemetry screens and zoomed around and i'd also flashed the latest walkstell firmware
[1374.68] Stephen: I've been running the beta the tester
[1377.72] Stephen: Test that bit, but I flashed the the latest walkstell firmware that has multiple font pages
[1382.68] Stephen: You've got your white fonts your red fonts your green fonts and your orange fonts
[1386.84] Stephen: and so all the warnings come up in different colors and
[1390.12] Stephen: Splendiferous it was it was working really well
[1395.72] Stephen: I didn't screw around with that. No, I mean
[1398.12] Stephen: I'm not a racer. I can't pretend to have anything close to the reaction times for that
[1403.56] Stephen: But uh, yeah, I really enjoyed the colored fonts at least
[1407.16] Curry: Yeah, i'm glad they they raised the limits on that because it was at three as I found out when I tried to store
[1414.12] Curry: And uh your your custom fonts will now work with osd playback in the goggles, which is quite nice
[1420.76] Stephen: Yeah, I got a pack from sneaky and uh, he'd instantly pushed it from
[1425.64] Stephen: The previous version of three up to fourteen
[1428.68] Stephen: So he's got like three in our fonts the three argi pilot fonts and
[1434.6] Stephen: Like eight different beta flight fonts and there's a special font. If you look at them, they're just png files and you can see
[1443.08] Stephen: It's purely a replica like the white green blue
[1446.76] Stephen: right green amber red, um
[1450.28] Stephen: Yeah
[1451.4] Stephen: Really nice does the job can't complain. It seems less flickery as well
[1455.4] Stephen: I didn't have any osd flickering which is good because the previous walks now versions
[1460.04] Stephen: Were giving it a bit flickering on the osd. Yeah, I agree
[1463.64] Curry: I noticed that they said one outstanding problem is
[1467.0] Curry: The flicker is still there if you record on the vtx
[1473.61] Curry: uh, so that's
[1476.65] Curry: Still to fix I think they've improved it but they haven't
[1479.77] Curry: Eradicated it completely as my understanding. I do notice when I bring up the menu

[1486.57] Stephen: The you know land disarm bring up the osd menu
[1490.65] Stephen: And until I move a line up or down in the osd menu, it like doesn't bother to render it
[1495.93] Stephen: But if I go up and down suddenly ping the osd
[1499.93] Stephen: Uh, you know conflict menu appears
[1502.57] Stephen: Because I usually go in there and be like oh just
[1505.21] Stephen: Bump up my filters a bit more just bump that up a little bit more
[1508.25] Stephen: See if we can get closer to the uh, the the bleeding edge of performance just so I can
[1513.37] Stephen: Fly badly and the flight controller deals with all that
[1516.73] Stephen: Gotta love that very nice. I noticed they've
[1519.85] Stephen: Dropped a new vtx as well. So that camera came out but they've also

[2432.42] Stephen: And so you can have a dotted rectangle that covers a portion of your fpv feed
[2438.66] Stephen: And so if you've got an hd camera
[2441.7] Stephen: That is pointed somewhere around your screen that doesn't cover the whole of the fpv feed
[2446.9] Stephen: You can now have a box on your fpv feed to represent where your hd camera is, which is kind of interesting
