[13.0] Jack: Massive thank you to… [14.4] Jack: Carlos Campos! [16.0] Jack: Art Faulkner. [17.84] Stephen: Sam Dahmer. [19.68] Stephen: On with the show. [20.68] Jack: Hello and welcome to Let's Drone Out. [56.96] Jack: You are joined by everyone's favourite curry kitten. [61.44] Jack: Sorry for talking. [62.44] Jack: Our Lord and Master Frank. [65.44] Jack: Good evening. [67.96] Jack: The man with the moustache, Steven. [70.28] Jack: Even and all. [71.96] Jack: And the rich but breathy, dirty, mixed stinky Chris. [76.72] Jack: Hello. [77.72] Jack: Hello and welcome. [82.16] Jack: Let's start the show. [83.16] Jack: I believe Frank, you've set this up. [85.96] Frank: Yes, so, well, I mean, a while back there was the Pop and Model show where there was [92.68] Frank: a load of tiny wheat racing sort of representing the FPV world there. [98.44] Frank: And so I got slightly involved in that I made some trophies for that. [104.48] Frank: So I was in a group chat with Chris G and Chris dirty mixed stinky who we have on tonight [109.92] Frank: and a few other people. [113.44] Frank: And so I thought, you know, it's beginning of October, the weather will have been turning [118.84] Frank: by then. [119.84] Frank: We'll be, you know, deep in our hibernations by now. [125.2] Frank: It would be good to have some sort of updates on what the tiny weeps are doing. [131.96] Frank: It's still quite summery outside at the moment, but nevertheless, we have Chris on. [136.56] Frank: So thank you very much for joining us. [138.68] Frank: It's all right. [139.68] Frank: Thank you for having me. [142.28] Frank: You kind of ran the racing, right? [145.2] Frank: Is my understanding at the pop show? [147.96] Kris "StinkyFPV": Yeah, so Chris G has the works where he flies with Papa Merfield last year. [156.12] Kris "StinkyFPV": He he had an event going on, but it wasn't there wasn't really any kind of tiny whooping [160.28] Kris "StinkyFPV": going on. He had like five inch racegates in a tiny whooping closure, kind of just asked [165.24] Kris "StinkyFPV": me to fly around them for a few hours and which was great because I didn't have to fight [170.2] Kris "StinkyFPV": for VTX time at all. [172.0] Kris "StinkyFPV": Like none of the people that were flying wings there didn't bother with VTX is I didn't bother [176.44] Kris "StinkyFPV": with FPV. [177.44] Kris "StinkyFPV": So we had the whole whole day to do it, which was a bit of a nightmare trying to manage [183.28] Kris "StinkyFPV": your batteries, keeping them going so that spectators were there. [187.24] Kris "StinkyFPV": We got to see that. And then this year was was was much bigger. [190.92] Kris "StinkyFPV": We had a much bigger turnout. [193.32] Kris "StinkyFPV": Lots of people come to see. [195.36] Kris "StinkyFPV": I did run the races. [196.44] Kris "StinkyFPV": I did a two day event because I wanted to do so when I say two day event, I mean, I [202.0] Kris "StinkyFPV": did a race one on one day and a race one on another day, which is why you ended up making [207.32] Kris "StinkyFPV": six trophies. [208.32] Frank: Yeah. [209.32] Kris "StinkyFPV": Yeah. [210.32] Kris "StinkyFPV": And the only reason why I did that was because we we had some pilots who said at the outset [214.12] Kris "StinkyFPV": that they couldn't make the first day or the second day. [216.36] Kris "StinkyFPV": So I didn't want to exclude them from a two day event. [220.08] Kris "StinkyFPV": So we just did single races on each day and then gave out prizes. [225.28] Kris "StinkyFPV": It was really good fun. [227.28] Kris "StinkyFPV": It was the tent was massive. [229.2] Kris "StinkyFPV": So I think next year we're going to try and get even more of the tent because there was [233.48] Kris "StinkyFPV": just so much space to play with inside. [235.4] Kris "StinkyFPV": There were only if there were only a few stands there. [237.6] Frank: Yeah. [238.6] Frank: I mean, for context, for anyone who hasn't been to any of the pop events. [243.0] Frank: So the pop is a manned airfield where they have a load of microlights and things flying [252.12] Frank: in and out. [253.64] Frank: And they also have the Light Aircraft Association rally, which means for that event, they get [260.24] Frank: in some really, really big markings to hold in all the various stores for that event. [266.0] Frank: And they, you know, happen to have the pop model show very close to that event. [272.56] Frank: And so the marquee people don't take the marquee down. [274.96] Frank: So there's an absolutely enormous marquee sitting next to the runway that gets shut [281.28] Frank: down for the big model flying so that there's enough space for jets and turbines to fly [287.16] Frank: on this what is usually a manned runway, but gets shut down for the event for the model [291.48] Frank: flying. [292.48] Frank: And then there's this really, really, really big marquee as, you know, otherwise it's empty. [298.92] Frank: And so basically there's, were there any, I think previously there's been some like [305.16] Frank: model railway stuff in a corner somewhere and like some little buggies in the corner [309.28] Frank: somewhere. [310.28] Kris "StinkyFPV": Yeah. [311.28] Kris "StinkyFPV": So they have like a little water display. [312.44] Kris "StinkyFPV": They had tanks. [314.16] Kris "StinkyFPV": I think last year they had slightly more in terms of the displays because they had they [318.52] Kris "StinkyFPV": had planes, tanks, they had a railway system, but this this year was so they did have the [324.0] Kris "StinkyFPV": model railways. [325.0] Kris "StinkyFPV": They still had the waterworks and the tanks, which was really good. [328.04] Kris "StinkyFPV": We got a chap called Mike who's based over in the race castle area. [333.72] Kris "StinkyFPV": He does a lot of small crawlers and we got him to come and do a stand as well, got people [339.48] Kris "StinkyFPV": really interested in that. [341.68] Kris "StinkyFPV": So it was a good, we had like, I don't know, I'd like to say we had like the lion's share [347.3] Kris "StinkyFPV": of spectators there because it's where it was situated by the airfield that the natural [353.08] Kris "StinkyFPV": flow of spectators was out of the airfield straight into the tent. [356.88] Kris "StinkyFPV": And then we just, they just come and sort of sat around the netted area and just watched [360.72] Kris "StinkyFPV": us fly. [361.72] Frank: Yeah. [362.96] Frank: And you presumably got this huge space to them filled with bits of track equipment, [369.04] Frank: whatever you can get hold of. [371.24] Kris "StinkyFPV": Yeah. [372.24] Kris "StinkyFPV": So fortunately, I'm a member of the Hanworth Tiny Whip Club and they've already got a [379.2] Kris "StinkyFPV": load of gates that I just basically, I basically nicked out of storage and used all of those. [383.84] Kris "StinkyFPV": So we managed to populate the area with tons of LED gates. [388.12] Kris "StinkyFPV": We even use some of Chris's five inch gates. [391.24] Kris "StinkyFPV": There was like a massive cubed five inch gate right in the middle of it all that we made [395.12] Kris "StinkyFPV": a feature out of and had to fly around. [399.48] Curry: It was, yeah, it was really good. [401.72] Curry: So on the subject of tiny whoops and racing, I feel the definition of a whoop has gone [407.84] Curry: a bit broad these days in terms of what you can have in some ways and motor and like motor [413.52] Curry: KV or power. [414.8] Curry: Do you have rules about what a tiny whoop is for racing terms? [419.32] Kris "StinkyFPV": Yeah, so definitely with the advent of these new frames, like the pro versions, they definitely [424.88] Kris "StinkyFPV": sort of convolute and people have to be a bit more restrictive or defined specifically [431.36] Kris "StinkyFPV": what the whoop is. [432.16] Kris "StinkyFPV": But to me, a tiny whoop really is something that's at 65 mils. [437.96] Kris "StinkyFPV": I don't really have anything. [438.84] Kris "StinkyFPV": So it's the size of my hand, essentially, is roughly the size of a whoop. [443.12] Kris "StinkyFPV": And then the one up from that, that's 65 millimeters. [445.92] Kris "StinkyFPV": The one up from that is 75. [448.88] Kris "StinkyFPV": People call them whoops, but I mean, there's so much more power to weight ratio in them [453.4] Kris "StinkyFPV": that you can do a lot more and they're more outdoor friendly. [458.56] Kris "StinkyFPV": They can still fly through a bit of gust of wind, whereas a 65 millimeter will quite easily [464.28] Kris "StinkyFPV": get knocked off course, even with the mildest gust of wind. [466.68] Kris "StinkyFPV": So I would say anything from a 65 millimeter frame to the pro frame, which is just ever so [474.2] Kris "StinkyFPV": slightly bigger. [474.84] Kris "StinkyFPV": It's about five mil bigger on each five or four mil bigger on each five millimeter prop [481.0] Kris "StinkyFPV": version versus four. [482.68] Kris "StinkyFPV": So that's the 75 pro versions. [485.84] Kris "StinkyFPV": They got a 65 pro and a 75 pro and the pro version is 45 millimeters prop size standard [492.36] Kris "StinkyFPV": 75 millimeters is 40 mil props. [494.92] Kris "StinkyFPV": And then you're at 35, I believe, for the pro version. [498.24] Kris "StinkyFPV": And then it's 31. [501.08] Stephen: And what are you designing the tracks for? [504.16] Stephen: What size do you have in mind when you think about the gaps and the speed and all that? [508.72] Stephen: 65, 65 millimeters. [510.44] Kris "StinkyFPV": So the gates, we try to build all of the gates or we try to encourage people to build all [516.6] Kris "StinkyFPV": of the gates to at least a 50 centimeter post by post so that all of the gates are sort of [522.44] Kris "StinkyFPV": regulation size, essentially, or they're all the same size regardless of what event you [526.64] Kris "StinkyFPV": might go to. [527.44] Kris "StinkyFPV": So with that size, trying to fit a 75 millimeter through that at speed can be a bit tricky [535.04] Kris "StinkyFPV": sometimes. [535.76] Kris "StinkyFPV": So it's often the best or normally we'll just define straight up that none of the bigger [540.84] Kris "StinkyFPV": quads will just have 65 only will accept 65 pro because it's still within that sort of [545.48] Kris "StinkyFPV": same size range. [547.92] Kris "StinkyFPV": And I think people feel like it gives them a slight advantage because you're running a [551.48] Kris "StinkyFPV": slightly bigger prop. [553.56] Kris "StinkyFPV": But I've seen people on standard 65 millimeters, completely trash, pro fliers. [558.28] Stephen: So I can go longer without the battery dying as well as a wee bit more efficient, the big [563.8] Stephen: prop. [564.88] Kris "StinkyFPV": Yeah, slightly more efficient. [566.08] Kris "StinkyFPV": You could definitely get maybe 30 seconds more flight time out of there. [568.84] Kris "StinkyFPV": It kind of really just depends on how aggressive you are on the throttle. [572.72] Kris "StinkyFPV": Like on average, you could probably get about, I don't know, about four minutes. [578.08] Kris "StinkyFPV": If you were really gentle and you were just cruising around probably four minutes on a [581.16] Kris "StinkyFPV": 65 millimeter. [582.88] Kris "StinkyFPV": And then if you were to go up to 75, you'd probably looking at about six, seven [586.48] Kris "StinkyFPV": minutes. [587.32] Kris "StinkyFPV": But it all depends on the build, how light you make it. [592.4] Kris "StinkyFPV": Because I think regardless of the KV that you can run on a motor, regardless of the [598.12] Kris "StinkyFPV": flight controller that you're using or the camera that you're using is ultimately always [601.52] Kris "StinkyFPV": going to come down to the weight ratio that you're pushing. [604.28] Kris "StinkyFPV": So the lighter you can make your work, the better it is going to fly. [608.16] Kris "StinkyFPV": The longer it's going to fly, the more you can do with it. [611.56] Stephen: So we're not on winter yet. [612.92] Stephen: People may not be, you know, stuck indoors, having to race indoors, but they might be [617.68] Stephen: thinking about buying parts and perhaps upgrading last year's or things they have in the [623.0] Stephen: cupboard. [623.68] Stephen: What would you recommend? [624.72] Stephen: What's your kind of go to choice of components that you prefer to race at the moment? [631.76] Kris "StinkyFPV": So for me then, the camera is the Foxy Pico camera. [637.68] Kris "StinkyFPV": It's just the easiest one to get in the UK. [639.92] Kris "StinkyFPV": Unfortunately, there's like a major shortage of work parts in the UK. [642.84] Kris "StinkyFPV": There aren't many. [643.8] Kris "StinkyFPV": You've got all your major shops, but every time they get something in, like some new [648.24] Kris "StinkyFPV": frames or some batteries or something, they're just gone instantly. [651.96] Kris "StinkyFPV": So you tend to find you'll be buying from China or you'll be paying the huge costs for [658.24] Kris "StinkyFPV": shipping from America. [659.32] Kris "StinkyFPV": But for products, normally I would use Foxy Pico or the tiny work pinch for a camera for a [668.0] Kris "StinkyFPV": flight controller. [669.76] Kris "StinkyFPV": I prefer the diamonds, the happy so that there's this happy model make this board called a [674.48] Kris "StinkyFPV": diamond board, which is normally the boards are either just square shaped by like square, but [680.8] Kris "StinkyFPV": they're 25 millimeter by 25 millimeter mounting, or you can get the cross shaped boards, which [685.92] Kris "StinkyFPV": are a bit easier to fit into some of the pro frames because they actually make the the whole [691.72] Kris "StinkyFPV": the mounting hole for the flight controller slightly smaller. [694.88] Stephen: Like scallop sides, aren't they? [696.48] Stephen: Instead of straight sides, they fit with a bigger duct. [699.84] Kris "StinkyFPV": Yeah, so so I prefer the the diamond purely because of its weight. [704.32] Kris "StinkyFPV": It's really light. [706.32] Kris "StinkyFPV": It's analog, but you can you can put a HDC BTX on it if you want to. [711.48] Kris "StinkyFPV": Motors. [713.08] Kris "StinkyFPV": So that's a tricky one. [715.4] Kris "StinkyFPV": It's not a tricky one. [716.88] Kris "StinkyFPV": For me, I've actually started winding my own motors. [719.88] Kris "StinkyFPV": Wow. [721.2] Kris "StinkyFPV": Crazy man, you might say. [722.36] Kris "StinkyFPV": Yeah, stupid. [723.44] Kris "StinkyFPV": Yeah. [724.52] Frank: Most of the winding. [726.48] Kris "StinkyFPV": Well, I mean, if you're if you're chasing the grams, winding your own motors can can literally [731.16] Kris "StinkyFPV": knock off a half a gram in total of the entire build and a half a gram on a on a whip that [735.6] Kris "StinkyFPV": weighs maybe 17 is 20 percent is ridiculous. [739.44] Kris "StinkyFPV": So it really does pay dividends. [741.84] Kris "StinkyFPV": Plus, there are some efficiencies to be to be bagged from winding your own motors. [748.88] Kris "StinkyFPV": But generally want them to get a higher KV or what are you aiming for? [753.56] Kris "StinkyFPV": Twenty four thousand is my golden ratio KV. [756.52] Kris "StinkyFPV": I don't really I think anything higher, you're just dumping current into the motors and [761.32] Kris "StinkyFPV": anything lower, you're you're really going to be pushing too much through potentially [766.8] Kris "StinkyFPV": the flight controller and you could you could pop an ESC on there. [771.96] Stephen: Right. Now those motors, the tiny motors had kind of this KV competition where everyone [778.52] Stephen: was claiming higher and higher KV's of the ratings to be trusted on tiny motors. [783.8] Stephen: Is the KV rating rating real or are they just imaginary numbers? [788.2] Kris "StinkyFPV": I think it's ballpark. [790.28] Kris "StinkyFPV": Whenever you see a KV on a motor, it's always ballpark. [793.24] Kris "StinkyFPV": I think the actual science to get an exact KV is actually quite difficult to do because [798.8] Kris "StinkyFPV": you've got it depends on the wire thickness, the number of wines you put on it. [803.96] Kris "StinkyFPV": So I always take them as sort of like a rough. [806.52] Kris "StinkyFPV": But if you're going to do freestyling in a work, then absolutely something like twenty [812.52] Kris "StinkyFPV": five, twenty six, thirty, I mean, like there's a chap in America called Ciotty who does he [821.4] Kris "StinkyFPV": swears blind to using higher KV motors. [824.28] Kris "StinkyFPV": But I kind of tend to disagree because I think you're just wasting a lot of current from [828.84] Kris "StinkyFPV": the battery. You can quite easily perform some of the same tricks you could do on a twenty [834.28] Kris "StinkyFPV": six thousand KV motor versus a thirty. [836.92] Kris "StinkyFPV": So for me, for racing personally, twenty four is the golden ratio. [844.12] Kris "StinkyFPV": I prefer that it's just very difficult to find motors that are actually off the shelf [849.0] Kris "StinkyFPV": at twenty four K. [849.84] Kris "StinkyFPV": Most of them are either twenty six, twenty seven, you can get some twenty two's and [854.68] Kris "StinkyFPV": some twenty twenty thousand's. [856.28] Kris "StinkyFPV": They're pretty decent. [857.16] Kris "StinkyFPV": So for the motors that I would recommend on a sixty five millimeter, for me, I prefer [867.92] Kris "StinkyFPV": seven oh two's. [869.04] Kris "StinkyFPV": So that refers the numbers referring to the actual size of the stator itself in millimeters [875.84] Kris "StinkyFPV": in height and in width seven oh two's aren't the smallest motors you can get, but they're [881.04] Kris "StinkyFPV": going to be the lightest in power to weight ratio. [886.2] Stephen: They're about the smallest you can get, I think. [888.72] Stephen: That's smaller than six oh three, isn't it? [894.08] Kris "StinkyFPV": Just ever since it's six oh three is taller, isn't it? [896.44] Stephen: Yeah, so it's a percent taller than seven oh two. [899.44] Kris "StinkyFPV": So yeah, so you're probably right there. [902.0] Kris "StinkyFPV": I think there are I always thought that you can get I thought you could get six oh two's, [906.8] Stephen: but I'm not sure. [908.48] Stephen: Maybe, maybe it's quite a new size. [910.96] Stephen: That one, isn't it? [911.68] Stephen: They kind of appeared last year, the seven oh two's. [914.84] Kris "StinkyFPV": Yeah, yeah, I suspect we haven't seen with the advent of all of these different types [920.8] Kris "StinkyFPV": of frames that are coming out that are experimenting with different prop sizes. [923.96] Kris "StinkyFPV": I kind of suspect that we're going to end up seeing something like seven oh two point [927.44] Kris "StinkyFPV": five's and eight oh two point five's, you know, the incremental increase is just to see [933.36] Kris "StinkyFPV": if you actually gain any benefit out of having a slightly bigger stator. [937.44] Kris "StinkyFPV": You do in most instances, you just there is a downside. [940.92] Kris "StinkyFPV": Like you they say the most efficient motor is an eight oh two motor and it is quite [949.24] Kris "StinkyFPV": efficient, but it's weight. [952.44] Kris "StinkyFPV": It's it's it's just bigger. [954.2] Kris "StinkyFPV": So it's it's it just adds more weight unnecessarily to the work when you could be flying [958.88] Kris "StinkyFPV": something that's super lightweight. [962.16] Kris "StinkyFPV": So I think I remember this. [963.84] Kris "StinkyFPV": Sorry, but no, it's just because it all comes down to weight, in my opinion. [969.48] Stephen: Yeah, I think I remember a French guy. [971.56] Stephen: I remember his name, but he did all his flights in a farmhouse in the middle of nowhere and [975.68] Stephen: had this kind of Woop dungeon set up underneath. [979.32] Stephen: Angry Don, Angry Don. [981.0] Stephen: Yeah. And he was he was pushing for the seven oh two motors and also the kind of ultra [986.84] Stephen: lightweight, smaller flight controllers as well. [989.48] Stephen: So a lot of this stuff has come from him. [990.96] Stephen: And I think he had some spectacular falling out with the manufacturers after kind of getting [995.8] Stephen: these ideas built. [997.72] Stephen: It looks like we're starting to see the reap the rewards of his work now. [1001.96] Kris "StinkyFPV": Yeah, it's a bit of a shame actually, because he was he was kind of innovative in in the [1007.64] Kris "StinkyFPV": work scene and he was really pushing some like some really cool designs, some new sort [1012.56] Kris "StinkyFPV": of like canopy designs. [1014.04] Kris "StinkyFPV": And yeah, he kind of just sort of went a little bit south for him, really, I think with Happy [1019.6] Kris "StinkyFPV": Model, they just and I think it's even like, I mean, I don't know how salty, I'd be bloody [1024.04] Kris "StinkyFPV": salty if I came up with all these ideas. [1025.96] Kris "StinkyFPV": And then a year down the line and all of a sudden I'm seeing them come to market and [1028.92] Stephen: everyone's like, so a lot of people have that experience dealing with like mass [1035.72] Stephen: manufacturing. So it's a lot of times. [1038.88] Stephen: Yeah. [1039.96] Stephen: Other shows with Hydra for more information. [1043.96] Stephen: Yeah. [1044.6] Frank: Is there still any holdouts in the racing scene that are still like on on like brush [1049.28] Frank: miters or anything? [1050.28] Frank: Or is everyone like, is everyone staying up to date with the latest stuff in the race? [1056.16] Kris "StinkyFPV": I think most people nowadays are brushless. [1058.44] Kris "StinkyFPV": I don't really see. [1059.28] Kris "StinkyFPV": I mean, I know people, some of the people, because I've only been in this hobby for a [1062.36] Kris "StinkyFPV": couple of years and I know the people that have been in it for a lot longer have got [1066.2] Kris "StinkyFPV": shelves of old whoops that were all brushed that they don't use or fly anymore. [1073.66] Frank: Curry indicating towards the shelf, presumably. [1077.42] Curry: Yes, sorry, a whole bunch of them up there. [1080.22] Curry: They work quite nicely as very gentle quads to fly around indoors and be able to go through [1085.38] Curry: little gaps. But yeah, you were just talking about like the KV of motors like 24, 26. [1091.5] Curry: If I try and fly 22,000 KV indoors, it's a nightmare. [1095.34] Curry: It's like, it's just it's like a pinball watching it bounce off the walls. [1099.74] Curry: That's my flying. [1100.9] Curry: I'm sure in the hands of someone half decent, it would be fine, but not for me. [1105.7] Kris "StinkyFPV": There there is a learning curve to when you're flying. [1108.14] Kris "StinkyFPV": There's certain things that you can do to tame the whip a little bit. [1110.54] Kris "StinkyFPV": But there is definitely a learning curve to flying the smaller quads, say in your front [1114.42] Kris "StinkyFPV": room or under your sofa or something like that. [1118.02] Kris "StinkyFPV": The one thing you could do is is lower the camera angle. [1120.3] Kris "StinkyFPV": So have it almost like five degrees rather than something like 45 degrees. [1125.06] Kris "StinkyFPV": You could definitely tame it that way. [1130.82] Kris "StinkyFPV": I can't think there was a moment my mind's gone blank. [1134.02] Frank: Is everyone, what about there's because there was the HP batteries, right? [1139.1] Frank: That was a that was a big thing a while ago. [1142.38] Frank: Is that everyone going to HP? [1143.66] Frank: Is everyone giving up on HP? [1145.02] Frank: What's the standard there? [1146.14] Frank: What about that? [1147.1] Kris "StinkyFPV": There is preference, I think. [1149.5] Kris "StinkyFPV": Most people I know that fly whips these days all fly HP batteries now. [1154.78] Kris "StinkyFPV": But there in itself is a bit of a nightmare because batteries are like gold dust. [1159.66] Kris "StinkyFPV": They're very hard to get hold of. [1161.02] Kris "StinkyFPV": And you tend to find that you'll end up buying them from Aliexpress or places like that, [1167.58] Kris "StinkyFPV": really, because they just don't they don't have the shops in the UK. [1170.98] Kris "StinkyFPV": They don't have good stock of them, unfortunately, or they do that. [1173.34] Kris "StinkyFPV": They'll be selling things like dot com batteries rather than tattoo ones. [1176.78] Kris "StinkyFPV": And there is an element of lipo snobbery in the in the in the hobby, to a degree. [1184.46] Kris "StinkyFPV": I mean, I only fly tattoo because I just I've tried a lot of the batteries [1188.38] Kris "StinkyFPV": and they're just the ones that perform the best for me. [1190.5] Kris "StinkyFPV": They give me that really at the very end when you're starting to feel the sag [1195.5] Kris "StinkyFPV": of the battery, they really they still keep giving you. [1198.22] Kris "StinkyFPV": Hello, Zoe. [1199.86] Kris "StinkyFPV": Hey, Zoey, FPV in the chat. [1201.58] Kris "StinkyFPV": Hello. I hope you're doing well. [1204.86] Stephen: 3D whips. Oh, I've never tried that. [1208.14] Stephen: I don't think I could, you know, I mean, you know, I mean, you need a lot of power [1212.1] Stephen: to hold 3D because unless you have props as well. [1214.94] Frank: I feel like props on whips are barely kind of sculpted. [1222.3] Frank: I feel like they're not very 3D, very asymmetrical. [1225.94] Stephen: You throw away a lot of thrust in reverse thrust. [1228.7] Stephen: I'm not sure it would actually hold its weight. [1231.06] Kris "StinkyFPV": No, no, no. [1234.1] Kris "StinkyFPV": Well, a lot of people say you've got the turtle mode option on there. [1237.7] Kris "StinkyFPV": So for anyone that's listening, if your whip lands on its on its top, [1242.58] Kris "StinkyFPV": you can turtle mode and then get right up. [1244.46] Kris "StinkyFPV": But the problem with whips is there's no control on it. [1246.9] Kris "StinkyFPV": You basically just go full throttle with when you turtle mode. [1251.38] Kris "StinkyFPV": So a lot of people don't actually turtle mode because it can pop an ESC [1255.98] Kris "StinkyFPV": on the flight controller. [1258.18] Stephen: I remember it was a couple of years ago [1260.3] Stephen: where turtle mode only worked on some whips because they just didn't all [1264.18] Stephen: have enough power or some of them were too heavy and couldn't. [1267.82] Kris "StinkyFPV": Yeah, yeah. If you've got if you've got an ultra lightweight whip, [1271.3] Kris "StinkyFPV": nine times out of ten, even a bi-blade will push it over. [1273.98] Kris "StinkyFPV": But if your whips, say, pushing 20 grams and you've got a bi-blade on it, [1278.06] Kris "StinkyFPV": you're probably just going to spin on the floor. [1281.22] Kris "StinkyFPV": You're not really going to be able to write yourself up. [1282.98] Kris "StinkyFPV": So but the props themselves, [1287.0] Kris "StinkyFPV": they're pretty robust things. [1289.92] Kris "StinkyFPV": I think I've never had a problem with any of the props. [1294.0] Kris "StinkyFPV": And the most problems I do see are them pinging off in a severe crash [1300.2] Kris "StinkyFPV": because they're all push fit, essentially. [1302.0] Kris "StinkyFPV": So in a really big crash, you can you can ping one off with it [1305.76] Kris "StinkyFPV": and go flying somewhere. [1307.92] Kris "StinkyFPV": And there are nine men to find in the dark. [1309.84] Stephen: Oh, I remember trying to change props to test out different props. [1313.24] Stephen: And if I wasn't careful, I just pulled the shaft clean out of the motor. [1318.24] Frank: There were a mark there. [1320.88] Kris "StinkyFPV": So there is actually a tool out in the market now. [1323.88] Kris "StinkyFPV": Now, this thing is like coveted. [1326.0] Kris "StinkyFPV": It's called the prop popper. [1327.68] Kris "StinkyFPV": I think it was made by a chap called Winston FBV. [1331.48] Kris "StinkyFPV": And Tiny Whips sell it. [1333.4] Kris "StinkyFPV": This thing is it's like a little hook with a press on the top [1337.48] Kris "StinkyFPV": and you just hook under the prop and you press and the pop just pops off. [1342.4] Kris "StinkyFPV": It's no no more of this wrestling and cutting your fingers open [1345.44] Kris "StinkyFPV": and destroying all your bleeding fingertips. [1350.8] Stephen: It's way worse than trying to get a big five inch prop off [1353.16] Stephen: because those things are just sharp and tiny, sharp edges and nothing else. [1359.32] Kris "StinkyFPV": Yeah, you do end up with some slight cuts or your fingers develop calluses [1362.84] Kris "StinkyFPV": like you're playing guitar or something and you just start tacking them on. [1367.4] Frank: Nice. So how how about props, then? [1370.56] Frank: Is there like a standard prop that everyone's using? [1374.0] Frank: Do you just get whatever you can get hold of that buys, tries? [1377.76] Frank: I mean, I feel like quad blades was standard like a few years ago. [1381.44] Frank: So many things have moved on since then. [1384.08] Kris "StinkyFPV": Yeah. So with the power of the motors these days and the lightweight of them, [1387.24] Kris "StinkyFPV": you don't necessarily need quad blades anymore. [1389.48] Kris "StinkyFPV": Tri-blades seem to be the most used prop in Tiny Whips. [1396.64] Kris "StinkyFPV": You get some people that fly bi-blades because they just like the feel of bi-blades. [1399.72] Kris "StinkyFPV": I personally fly bi-blades because I like to have that kind of [1403.24] Kris "StinkyFPV": skid feel in a turn, essentially. [1406.8] Kris "StinkyFPV": Tri-blades will give you a lot of grip in a turn. [1410.44] Kris "StinkyFPV": So you could you could pretty much come up to a gate full pelt turn [1414.8] Kris "StinkyFPV": and then go the other way kind of thing. [1416.92] Kris "StinkyFPV": With bi-blades, it's more of a you've got to swoop in and you've got to come in. [1420.2] Kris "StinkyFPV": You've got to make the line right. [1423.24] Kris "StinkyFPV": So tri-blades definitely for makes HQ gem fan. [1429.04] Kris "StinkyFPV": They're the ones that I primarily see most people use. [1434.08] Kris "StinkyFPV": HQ are more about I think the consensus, as far as I understand it, [1438.32] Kris "StinkyFPV": is that HQ make efficient props. [1441.6] Kris "StinkyFPV": Gem fan makes really grippy props, essentially, [1446.28] Kris "StinkyFPV": props that will allow you to get that turn on a dime kind of thing [1450.44] Kris "StinkyFPV": into and out of whatever it is you're doing. [1452.72] Kris "StinkyFPV": As long as you've got the battery to do it. [1454.76] Stephen: As long as you've got the battery, as long as your LiPo is not screaming at you. [1458.24] Stephen: Speaking of screaming LiPo is one thing that's kind of exploded [1462.52] Stephen: over the last couple of years has been going from from everyone [1465.96] Stephen: but everyone flying PH 2.0 and hating it. [1469.12] Stephen: So through a brief phrase where people are like, [1471.32] Stephen: I'll just sold an XT 30 on with like Bob Ruggie in that flying the larger toothpick stuff. [1477.44] Stephen: And now we're seeing like, what are we up to? [1480.2] Stephen: Three different standards for plus the BT 2.0. [1484.4] Stephen: There's a beta FB one and GMB one and a third one that appeared recently. [1489.04] Stephen: So what's the deal with all that? [1491.6] Kris "StinkyFPV": So as I understand it, so BT 2.0 came in and because it's essentially something like it's [1499.68] Kris "StinkyFPV": tantamount to like an XT 10. [1501.92] Kris "StinkyFPV": So it just allows a lot more current to pass through. [1505.0] Kris "StinkyFPV": So it's better than either the rolled or folded pins that you can get from the PH connectors. [1510.84] Kris "StinkyFPV": So it's just it just allows a lot more current to pass through. [1514.84] Kris "StinkyFPV": But as I understood it, I think beta FPV had because it was it was a [1520.6] Kris "StinkyFPV": licensed product from beta FPV. [1524.0] Kris "StinkyFPV": So a lot of people didn't want to miss. [1526.24] Kris "StinkyFPV": I don't think a lot of companies wanted to pay the license and then [1530.36] Stephen: GMB just come up with the Apple accessory route then like. [1532.8] Stephen: Yeah, of course, anyone can use this if you pay us. [1536.36] Kris "StinkyFPV": Yeah, pretty much. Yeah. [1538.08] Kris "StinkyFPV": And I think most companies did sort of like because you just saw a lot of pilots switch to BT 2.0. [1542.44] Kris "StinkyFPV": So anyone that was making a LiPo would probably see a dip in PH battery sales. [1546.48] Kris "StinkyFPV": So they just thought, OK, if we're making these little one S sticks [1549.96] Kris "StinkyFPV": and people just aren't using them because of the PH connector, let's switch over. [1554.68] Kris "StinkyFPV": But GMB did something rather clever, actually. [1556.68] Kris "StinkyFPV": They've if you heard of the A30. [1560.48] Kris "StinkyFPV": So this is new connector that's just come out, which is pretty much exactly the same as a BT 2 connector. [1565.56] Kris "StinkyFPV": But what they've done is they've put a groove on the LiPo side. [1570.48] Kris "StinkyFPV": So it's kind of like a guide groove so that the connector is comparably different to the BT 2 connector that it doesn't infringe on anything. [1579.28] Kris "StinkyFPV": But you can actually still use BT 2 LiPo in the plug. [1583.52] Kris "StinkyFPV": So it's brilliant. [1585.56] Kris "StinkyFPV": So I think a lot of people are a lot of people are switching over potentially to the A30. [1589.2] Kris "StinkyFPV": It's a much of a muchness, really, if even they're exactly the same. [1593.6] Kris "StinkyFPV": They're both they both deliver the same amount of current and they're both the same size. [1598.52] Stephen: What's your preference? What do you find easier? [1600.32] Stephen: Because ultimately, it's like can I easily buy the battery leads and can I easily buy the batteries? [1606.0] Stephen: What's the easiest to get hold of? [1609.6] Kris "StinkyFPV": So I use sticks now, so I don't actually have any battery leads. [1613.76] Kris "StinkyFPV": So the lead comes on the connector itself, which is a BT 2 connector. [1621.26] Kris "StinkyFPV": But most of the LiPo's I buy a stick LiPo, so they actually have a connector on the top rather than a cable. [1627.66] Kris "StinkyFPV": Again, a weight savings thing. [1630.26] Kris "StinkyFPV": But for connectors on the actual website, it doesn't really matter. [1633.3] Kris "StinkyFPV": You can use the A30 or the BT or well, if pH if you're using pH batteries. [1637.98] Kris "StinkyFPV": But for any LiPo that has a BT 2 connector on it, you can use an A30 or a BT on the WOOP. [1645.22] Stephen: Is it just what the easiest type of LiPo to get? [1648.34] Stephen: So it's BT 2, the one the best selection. [1652.66] Kris "StinkyFPV": Tattoo probably tattoo are probably the best ones or the easiest ones to get hold of. [1657.66] Kris "StinkyFPV": There always seems to be a good stock on AliExpress for those plus all the major companies in America, [1662.18] Kris "StinkyFPV": like Tinywoop and Weebleeds, and I think FYS Crafts. [1667.46] Kris "StinkyFPV": They generally stock all of those now, BT 2 LiPo's. [1672.26] Kris "StinkyFPV": But it's just the name of the actual connector. [1677.82] Kris "StinkyFPV": So that's what I would advise anyone to go for if they were looking to buy some LiPo's. [1682.94] Kris "StinkyFPV": pH is absolutely fine. [1684.3] Kris "StinkyFPV": If you're just getting into it, pH is absolutely fine. [1687.74] Kris "StinkyFPV": It's going to give you enough light time and it's going to get you in the air. [1691.82] Kris "StinkyFPV": The LiPo's will last just as long as BT 2. [1693.98] Stephen: I use them for my lazy house cruising. [1695.98] Stephen: I've got like a mob light, which is 19 grams on a 75 mil frame and [1701.74] Stephen: can cruise around the house on a pH 2.0. [1704.46] Stephen: I'm not pushing it and it gets me like five minutes in the air. [1707.74] Stephen: So at that rate, it's enough to get that sort of power throughs on such an efficient quad, [1713.9] Kris "StinkyFPV": if it's not very simple. [1716.3] Kris "StinkyFPV": So because I mainly race them, most of my, pretty much all of my LiPo's are BT 2 connectors. [1723.82] Kris "StinkyFPV": So it just makes it easier for me to, if I'm going to do some sort of like cruising or freestyling, [1728.94] Kris "StinkyFPV": I'll just use the same LiPo's essentially. [1731.42] Kris "StinkyFPV": But it doesn't really matter if you're just starting out. [1733.42] Kris "StinkyFPV": If you're racing, then I would probably say, or I would push you to go towards BT 2, [1738.22] Kris "StinkyFPV": just because you're just going to, it eliminates that sag towards the middle and the end of the [1743.26] Kris "StinkyFPV": battery. When you're really pushing to try and finish off your three laps or however many laps [1747.26] Kris "StinkyFPV": you're doing, you're just not going to feel that sag and you can keep pushing it. [1751.26] Stephen: And it would be wonderful to like take off and not instantly be down to like 3.6 volts. [1756.54] Stephen: That would be, that'd be awesome. [1759.42] Kris "StinkyFPV": Yeah. That's the other thing as well. [1760.54] Kris "StinkyFPV": Yeah. When you take off, you still have four volts just for about five seconds and then, [1765.18] Kris "StinkyFPV": then you're into the threes. [1766.38] Kris "StinkyFPV": But it's really good. So yeah, so BT 2 LiPo's for chargers, there's, there's so many different [1774.14] Kris "StinkyFPV": options for chargers at the moment. The Whoop Store is the main one that everyone's getting [1779.1] Kris "StinkyFPV": at the moment, because it just makes, it just takes a lot of the pain out of the process. [1783.5] Kris "StinkyFPV": Really, you can storage charge them very easily on that. So I would recommend the Whoop Store [1790.38] Kris "StinkyFPV": if anyone was going to get one. In terms of a full quad, a bind and fly is pretty good. [1799.16] Kris "StinkyFPV": If you're just starting out and you want to get into it, I would probably recommend or point you [1803.16] Kris "StinkyFPV": towards a bind and fly, which is you get the whole thing in one, essentially for maybe a hundred [1809.16] Kris "StinkyFPV": quid and that happy model do them. You get the happy model, maybe the six and maybe the seven [1814.76] Kris "StinkyFPV": beta FPV have got them. Oh, that's the Whoop Store. Yeah. So that's, that's the goal to send [1821.0] Kris "StinkyFPV": for any Whoop pilot, essentially. Yeah, it really gives you, it just takes the pain out. So you can, [1829.72] Kris "StinkyFPV": you can change straight up to storage charging those LiPo's the moment you've used them. [1833.48] Kris "StinkyFPV": Because it was always a bit of a pain to storage charge and back down to 3.85 volts. [1839.32] Kris "StinkyFPV": You'd have to either hawk the charger or you'd have to know your charger well enough that you [1844.76] Stephen: could type the input as well. So you can just take like a phone power bank and charge a Whoop [1850.76] Kris "StinkyFPV": that's handy. Yeah. Looks interesting. Yeah. So that's, they're kind of like the standard [1857.72] Kris "StinkyFPV": now to be honest with you. They came, this is like version three that you're looking at the moment, [1862.6] Kris "StinkyFPV": but they are, yeah, they just, they just make life a lot easier. [1866.44] Frank: This episode was recorded in front of a live online audience, downloaded and edited to make [1871.08] Frank: sense when it's played audio only, censored to please the iTunes people, hosted on the internet, [1876.12] Frank: forwarded through to your podcast provider, downloaded, playing on your device and is now [1880.44] Frank: playing in your ears. How long did it [1892.6] Stephen: take to get storage charging on Whoops? It seemed, seems like an eternity. It was like five years [1898.36] Stephen: before a product came out that would actually storage charge rather than you just take a handful [1903.0] Stephen: of fistful of puffy cells out of the bag. When you go, I'd say it's probably only been in the last [1909.88] Kris "StinkyFPV": year and a half that we've actually had a solution like the Whoop store to, to just remove it. I've [1916.04] Kris "StinkyFPV": been using like a parallel board on my, on my sky RC charger. And I've just been having to parallel [1923.88] Kris "StinkyFPV": charge parallel storage on those ones. It's not ideal at all. Yeah. So it does make it a lot easier. [1930.52] Curry: It is. And if you, modern charges still won't do it. And I've even asked about it. Like last time [1936.12] Curry: I looked at a charger and it's like, can you do, can you do one S storage on this? No, no. [1941.16] Curry: That's, that's another thing. So yeah, I think the Whoop store is the only thing, [1945.0] Curry: the only sort of commercial product I know about that will storage charge one S's. [1949.88] Curry: And that could do one S off of a parallel. Yeah, you can do it in parallel with a parallel board, [1956.6] Curry: but then you're just treating like each one. No, no, no, you can do it as a one S on a parallel board. [1961.8] Stephen: It'll take a one S cell, but in order to get one S to work, it expects the one S cell to present [1967.72] Stephen: a voltage both on like the, on the, the JST. So on the, whatever it's called, the balance port [1978.12] Stephen: and the other port. So what you have to do is you have to bridge the one S pin on the balance port [1983.88] Stephen: with the actual charge pin. That's like an XD 30 and then put a B a pH two off that or something. [1991.08] Stephen: So you like split the lipos so it goes to both. So you can make a lead that way. Yeah. And then [1998.36] Stephen: it thinks, Oh yeah, I can do that because it's a, I can balance charge this one S even though it's [2002.84] Stephen: one S and balance charge doesn't mean anything with one S cell against the other non-cells. [2010.2] Stephen: And yeah, there's some dumb logic in there where even if it's one cell, it's like, [2014.12] Stephen: I must have it connected to both. Otherwise I won't be able to tell what voltage the individual [2018.2] Stephen: cell is at. There's only one cell make that leap. Interesting. I mean, [2028.2] Frank: I was just seeing num skulls posted something about a crossfire something. So what, what radio [2038.04] Frank: stuff is, is generally common. Cause I mean, last time I was, had anything to do with works, [2043.08] Frank: it was like the, the SPI receivers on their fast guy. So it was a bit of, a bit of a while ago. [2049.08] Kris "StinkyFPV": Exactly. Yeah. So it, well, ERS basically is, it came out and it just kind of a blue, [2055.88] Kris "StinkyFPV": blew all the competition for me anyway, it blew all the competition out of the water. And I [2059.16] Kris "StinkyFPV": didn't really see the point in using another receiver type. I mean, they've got crossfire [2064.68] Kris "StinkyFPV": whoops out now. And I think there's a lot of people that are rejoicing now that it's like, [2070.2] Kris "StinkyFPV": finally it's taken that long to get out. But for a radio, anything that actually has an ERS [2076.52] Kris "StinkyFPV": protocol built in. Oh, it's just the crossfire. Yeah. I think a lot of people would have been, [2081.88] Kris "StinkyFPV": they've been asking for this for a very long time. And Nubidrone finally came to market with it. And [2086.6] Kris "StinkyFPV": I think everyone was like, yay, finally. I don't really want an antenna that's twice the size of [2092.12] Kris "StinkyFPV": my quad. Yeah. I personally don't use it. Just cause I find the, the ERS antennas are just tiny [2103.64] Kris "StinkyFPV": as hell. Either it's a little ceramic tower, which is very, very tiny or it's a copper wire. [2111.88] Kris "StinkyFPV": Yeah. And the distance you can get on those things. It's just in comparison to like FRS guy [2116.68] Kris "StinkyFPV": and the old protocols, it's just unreal. It's crazy. And I had this conversation with all [2122.68] Kris "StinkyFPV": my friends at the club. He doesn't seem to think he can feel the difference between, [2127.88] Kris "StinkyFPV": or the latency difference between ELRS and say, oh, FRS guy, I certainly could. [2132.68] Kris "StinkyFPV": And at the moment I had, I started using LRS. It was like, oh, whoa, okay. I'm actually in [2136.68] Kris "StinkyFPV": control of this now. This is responding to what I'm telling it to do. And I'm, [2140.68] Kris "StinkyFPV": I'm not getting micro fail safes or telemetry issues when I'm literally about 10 meters away [2147.16] Stephen: from myself. Yeah. You don't just fly behind yourself and then suddenly find that the quads [2153.7] Stephen: on the floor for no reason. Yeah. Yeah. Pretty much. I feel like we're just watching Steven do [2158.66] Stephen: some shopping now. He was recommending earlier. So that was 75 quid. What I was going to point [2165.62] Stephen: people to was that the one he was talking about earlier, which I do have myself. I've got a couple [2170.98] Stephen: of these, the little diamond F4 board. It's absolutely minute and it weighs almost nothing. [2178.34] Stephen: And it's got a VTX built on us as well. So if you can get them, you see, just plug your camera in [2184.02] Stephen: there and then some solder pads, the motors. And you have to solder the motors, but it's designed [2189.22] Stephen: to be super light. So yeah, you end up with some impressive flight times. Once you've got this kind [2195.22] Kris "StinkyFPV": of weight saving. Yeah. It's sort of the average weight for a race work these days, I think is, [2201.14] Kris "StinkyFPV": is around 16 to 17 grams. Yeah. It's as tiny as hell. It is really, really lights, but [2209.38] Kris "StinkyFPV": you've got people who normally come into those compositions and they've made frame modifications. [2213.62] Kris "StinkyFPV": They've got ultra lightweight canopies. I've seen one guy come in. He had gone round and dremeled [2222.02] Kris "StinkyFPV": holes in the, the whoop ducks on the entire frame. He'd literally systematically gone around [2227.62] Kris "StinkyFPV": the entire frame and dremeled holes in it as a, as an attempt to save weight. So people do to, [2232.34] Stephen: do go to extreme lengths to try and Oh, and the Reni screws as well. I've forgotten about them. [2238.18] Stephen: Impossible, extremely expensive screws that are tiny. Yeah. There's nylon glass screws. [2244.26] Kris "StinkyFPV": They do actually crazy enough. They do actually save you some weight, but [2248.98] Stephen: your grand pinch in there, like 50 pence of screw as well. And you can only buy them in bags of a [2254.34] Kris "StinkyFPV": thousand or something stupid. They are ridiculous. Yeah. What we tend to do is we do a group order. [2261.94] Kris "StinkyFPV": So we put like a post out on Facebook and to everyone and say, Hey, we're going to do some, [2265.78] Kris "StinkyFPV": we're going to buy some screws. And then we try and get as many people involved in this possible [2270.66] Kris "StinkyFPV": that way. Yeah. It takes the cost out of it quite a bit. Someone needs to just parcel them up and do [2276.02] Kris "StinkyFPV": bags of 20 of them on eBay. Well, I'm junkie. Um, he used to sell them. So there's, um, sadly [2283.94] Kris "StinkyFPV": it's not up anymore. Um, it closed down this year. Uh, it was race castle and drone junkie. [2288.58] Kris "StinkyFPV": And the chat that run it, um, Jim, he, he had a bunch of running screws that I bought from him. [2295.86] Kris "StinkyFPV": I just thought that was easiest because it was, he's based in the UK. He's selling them quite [2300.34] Kris "StinkyFPV": cheap, but he, when I spoke to him, he's like, it's the pain in the ass to get them because [2304.82] Kris "StinkyFPV": they cost the bloody bundle and he, and they have to, we have to wait weeks for them to come [2308.26] Stephen: from China sometimes. So, and then he's got to spend hours, pour it one massive bag of screws [2312.9] Frank: into hundreds of tiny bags. Yeah. Yeah. He allows you to like, you only gave me 19. I ordered 20. [2322.18] Kris "StinkyFPV": Yeah. I think if I remember correctly, you could order it per screw, [2325.22] Kris "StinkyFPV": which I thought was a bit of a bit of a weird thing to do really. Yeah. [2329.38] Frank: So by weight shouldn't usually announce [2334.42] Stephen: it's a lot of screws in little bags for that as well. [2344.02] Curry: So what about video system? Is that stayed analog because it's easier and lighter or have people [2349.7] Curry: started to transition to HD zero or was there no advantage in this sort of scale of racing? [2355.78] Kris "StinkyFPV": So analog does have the advantage because with HD zero, you're immediately adding [2362.42] Kris "StinkyFPV": a straight up four gram VTX to the whole, to the whole setup. So which is like 19 grams. [2371.22] Stephen: You're adding like an extra quarter of the weight straight on there. [2375.78] Kris "StinkyFPV": Whoops become obese. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Well, there's a lot of people out there are doing [2381.7] Kris "StinkyFPV": really good work to try and, um, reduce the weight by printing these foam, um, [2388.18] Kris "StinkyFPV": these light foam, dense canopies or trying to do their own grommets. Um, personally, my methods [2396.42] Kris "StinkyFPV": is to take a pair of snips and start cutting away at the frame because there's small things like [2401.22] Kris "StinkyFPV": you could do, like cut some spokes away. It doesn't really say the VTX for a second. [2406.1] Kris "StinkyFPV": Yeah. So what they, so they give you a UFL connector on there. If you want to have a UFL, [2417.06] Kris "StinkyFPV": but I actually sold a copper wire to the active element on it, just because it's, it's [2423.7] Kris "StinkyFPV": point one four of a gram say you're going to be what, like 10 meters away from the whoops. [2428.58] Kris "StinkyFPV": So who cares? Yeah. Um, well, even on that thing, I could still fly up to about [2432.42] Kris "StinkyFPV": 200 foot and I still get clear signal on the VTX with a copper wire. So it's absolutely fine. [2438.98] Kris "StinkyFPV": I raced HD zero at pop. Um, this year, um, took first place on the first day. Didn't mean to [2449.94] Kris "StinkyFPV": winning my winning the competition I'd set up. Um, it's great to be honest with you. I, [2455.7] Kris "StinkyFPV": I, if I could, I would fly HD zero all the time, or I race HD zero all the time. It's just the [2462.9] Kris "StinkyFPV": clarity of image that you get. You can, everything is telegraphed. Everything is, you can see so [2468.66] Kris "StinkyFPV": clearly with it. There's no latency problems. Um, even when you're, maybe you've got four or five [2476.42] Kris "StinkyFPV": whoops coming up to a gate. Um, and depending on what antenna setup you've got on your goggles, [2482.58] Kris "StinkyFPV": uh, when analog whoops crossover, you could potentially get, uh, bleeding on signal or you [2487.78] Kris "StinkyFPV": could just get some fuzz in the screen. I just don't get that with, uh, with HDZ. I get maybe [2492.66] Kris "StinkyFPV": a little bit of speckles, you know, the rainbow speckles, but I mean, that happens split second [2497.22] Kris "StinkyFPV": and then I'm, I'm clear picture again. So HDZ for me, um, I would recommend anyone to do HDZ. [2506.34] Kris "StinkyFPV": It's if you're going to do it though, um, make sure you, you print a canopy that can cover or [2512.98] Kris "StinkyFPV": encase the entire VTX because otherwise you'll just have a camera that sits right at the very [2518.18] Kris "StinkyFPV": front of it and you'll have all this VTX space at the back that's exposed unless you want to [2522.42] Kris "StinkyFPV": run the shields, but the shields themselves will add more weight on top of it. So it just becomes a [2528.26] Stephen: losing fight in the end. And you've got that little Mippy cable. You've got to squirrel away [2532.66] Stephen: and make sure it doesn't get snagged on anything as well. Yeah. Yeah. So I guess that's the ultimate [2537.3] Kris "StinkyFPV": weak point for me. Uh, I don't, the Mippy cable is, is a real weak point. If you're not very careful [2545.3] Kris "StinkyFPV": with how you place it, uh, a small prang dent, one of those tiny little microfibered cables and [2553.06] Kris "StinkyFPV": that's it, that's the Mippy cable gone and you'll have to go and pay six quid to buy another one. [2558.42] Kris "StinkyFPV": And that's what I've, I've gone through quite a lot of Mippy cables doing that, just trying to [2562.26] Kris "StinkyFPV": find the best way to mount it, to try and mount the cable so that it doesn't hit anything. Um, [2567.86] Kris "StinkyFPV": put foam under the camera canopy to try and sort of protect it. [2573.94] Kris "StinkyFPV": Yeah, essentially. If you're flying it in a bigger quads, I've never had any, I've never heard of [2577.86] Kris "StinkyFPV": anyone flying anything bigger than a warp with the HD zero have a Mippy problem because it's the [2582.66] Kris "StinkyFPV": Mippy's under like five inches or five millimeters of carbon. So it's never going to get larger quads. [2588.82] Stephen: So I tended to damage those cables on DJI by yoinking them under something when I was [2594.66] Stephen: installing them or trying to fold them around a sharp bend. But once they were installed, [2599.14] Kris "StinkyFPV": I never had any issues. Yeah, exactly. And it's the same thing. Um, it just becomes, [2605.86] Kris "StinkyFPV": there becomes a challenge to find the correct mounting solution when you're putting it, [2611.62] Kris "StinkyFPV": because you can run the VTX on top. You can run it underneath in the frame. [2616.34] Kris "StinkyFPV": There's just loads of different variations and options, um, on how you actually build the [2620.42] Stephen: whip itself. Do you think the weight is going to encourage people to have like digital only races [2626.58] Stephen: where there's more of a level playing field and people can bask in the beautiful technical glory [2631.54] Stephen: of that picture without worrying about being undertaken by some stinking kid on a 15 gram [2638.82] Kris "StinkyFPV": lightning fast boot? I hope so. Well, eventually, yeah. Um, we've started to pop them did include [2644.5] Kris "StinkyFPV": HD zero this year. And I would like to do that going forward. Maybe have a spec HD zero race where [2651.3] Kris "StinkyFPV": the, the all up weight is going to be sort of 21 grams or something like that. [2656.02] Kris "StinkyFPV": Any 21 grams and above, uh, they actually do a spec race at the moment in America. [2660.34] Kris "StinkyFPV": It's called the underground whoop leak and it's 75 mil based. I think the all up weight for that [2666.02] Kris "StinkyFPV": has to be 40 grams. So if you build like, yeah, if you build something like, I think it's 40 [2670.82] Kris "StinkyFPV": grams, including the battery, that's quite a lot, isn't it? It is quite the whole idea is to, it, [2677.22] Kris "StinkyFPV": it makes the 75 mil feel slightly more like a bigger quads. So you can't just throw it into [2682.9] Kris "StinkyFPV": turns and expect it to respond because you're going to have too much inertia and weight in [2687.3] Kris "StinkyFPV": your drift out of the corner. So you just, it levels the playing field so that it now becomes [2693.22] Kris "StinkyFPV": about the skill of the pilot. Uh, when you're doing these races and I've seen some of them, [2698.5] Kris "StinkyFPV": uh, they look fantastic. You can still go really fast and the courses are tailored to be slightly [2704.42] Kris "StinkyFPV": different with a whip track. You probably have a gate here, a gate there, a gate here, a gate [2707.62] Kris "StinkyFPV": there. And it'd just be like a carnage of going through it. But these ones are just sort of like [2711.06] Kris "StinkyFPV": gliding through sweeping turns more like an American car as well. So they probably feel [2715.94] Stephen: more at home. You know, you can't, can't turn unless you're practically stopped. Otherwise [2720.58] Kris "StinkyFPV": you got wobbled. Yeah, there's a few of those in there. So I would love to do a spec HDZ race. If [2728.18] Kris "StinkyFPV": I could get one in the UK, I think a lot of people would probably say at the moment, it's just a bit [2733.54] Kris "StinkyFPV": too heavy. And, and I, so this is speculation in my own head with, um, because like Carl's come [2742.66] Kris "StinkyFPV": out recently with like a V3 for the race, VTX, I'm kind of of the mindset that a V2 for the [2747.94] Kris "StinkyFPV": whipboard is coming out at some point. I mean, it has to, we've had that whipboard for a year [2752.74] Kris "StinkyFPV": and a half now it's due an update. So potentially a lighter VTX is around the corner. I don't [2760.26] Kris "StinkyFPV": necessarily know, but that would be fantastic when they get through their backlog of chips [2765.14] Stephen: that are sitting in their warehouse, I guess. And then they go to print some more and maybe [2769.06] Stephen: there's a smaller option available to them, makes everything smaller and lighter. That would be [2773.94] Kris "StinkyFPV": great. I suppose. So you've got, there are a couple of pilots in the industry that are trying to push [2778.26] Kris "StinkyFPV": to, uh, get manufacturers to make products that are lighter. So you've just had the beta, um, air [2784.9] Kris "StinkyFPV": frame that's just come out. It's a 65 mil frame, but they've used less material in the injection [2790.58] Kris "StinkyFPV": mold. So it's much lighter. Um, it has much lower profile. And I think a lot of people are going to [2795.86] Kris "StinkyFPV": transition to the airframe going forward just because it's, it's lighter overall. Um, you know, [2803.06] Kris "StinkyFPV": flying these Trinity university. Is that, is that whoop related? So I just saw Caroline's [2808.82] Kris "StinkyFPV": message. It is indeed. Yeah. That's brilliant. Actually. I did reach out, um, to a lot of the [2819.46] Kris "StinkyFPV": people that I know that do work racing around the UK and in, uh, Europe just to get a list of things [2826.26] Kris "StinkyFPV": to, to sort of reel off. Um, so if I do it from the beginning of the year, you have this competition [2834.74] Kris "StinkyFPV": run, it's called the Birmingham international, uh, race day. And it's, it's hosted by a chap called [2840.26] Kris "StinkyFPV": Matt Snell. And it's a fantastic, it's an international competition. Last year we had [2847.3] Kris "StinkyFPV": people from Germany, people from Italy, people from Poland to come over and, uh, a chap called [2853.22] Kris "StinkyFPV": Phobos, uh, won the race. But that's a really, that's a really intense competition. Um, and [2860.02] Kris "StinkyFPV": appended to that, that weekend we do what we do a whoop house. So we, we hire a big house, [2866.74] Kris "StinkyFPV": get as many people to stay there as possible. And we do like a mini competition and races in [2870.66] Kris "StinkyFPV": the actual house as well. That was brilliant. Last year we had so much fun doing that. [2876.26] Kris "StinkyFPV": So that's in January, uh, normally hosted, uh, in, uh, in Birmingham, uh, in January, [2884.58] Kris "StinkyFPV": the, the next one is the, uh, wins and wheels is the next big event. Um, [2889.62] Frank: if you're aware of wins and wheels, I believe, yeah, wheels, middle of June, sort of that one. [2896.58] Kris "StinkyFPV": Yeah. Uh, that's hosted by, there's a group of people that call themselves, [2901.78] Kris "StinkyFPV": we're called the whoop council. Um, we're, we're a group of people that are trying to [2909.06] Kris "StinkyFPV": create more whoop events in the UK. So we've all come together. Um, and we're all pulling our [2914.18] Kris "StinkyFPV": resources, um, all of our equipment, gates, uh, HDC VRX is event VRX is things like that to try and, [2922.5] Kris "StinkyFPV": um, such reduced the cost, uh, for anyone that's having to sort of wants to do something like this. [2928.98] Kris "StinkyFPV": Um, and we're trying to sort of host more. So I used a lot of the things that they, [2932.26] Kris "StinkyFPV": they supplied for pop them, which was really useful. So there's, there's wings and wheels pop. [2938.34] Kris "StinkyFPV": Um, we hope to make a calendar feature going forwards. I think we had, we had a really good [2944.1] Kris "StinkyFPV": time this year around. So I think the guys in the airfield were quite happy with the response. [2949.86] Kris "StinkyFPV": So hopefully next year we can, we can do another one. Yeah. Um, then towards [2957.78] Kris "StinkyFPV": say that's around September time. And then towards the end of the year, [2961.86] Kris "StinkyFPV": you've got SGDC, uh, it's the South Gloucester drone club based in Bristol. [2968.18] Kris "StinkyFPV": They do a little mini whooply cause it's like five, five whoop races, um, from October to January. [2975.7] Kris "StinkyFPV": It's one, one race a month. Uh, and that's really good. Great little environment to, [2980.02] Kris "StinkyFPV": to get involved with. Everyone's really, really helpful there. Uh, the clubs, [2983.22] Kris "StinkyFPV": just a really nice club to, to visit actually. Uh, they've got this massive venue in a, [2989.06] Kris "StinkyFPV": in a sports complex and the whoops, it's, it's, it's just really nice to go to. [2994.82] Kris "StinkyFPV": So for big events, that's in the UK. That's all I'm aware of at the moment. I, um, [3001.14] Kris "StinkyFPV": we hope we're going to make some more events, uh, in the coming years, but it's [3007.86] Kris "StinkyFPV": because I've only been in this hobby for a couple of years. [3010.1] Kris "StinkyFPV": And when I first joined the Hanworth group, they used to tell me that prior to me coming, [3019.06] Kris "StinkyFPV": they, they hosted these work nights, but they, they were always chock-a-block with pilots. [3024.02] Kris "StinkyFPV": They always had too many pilots to actually be able to get up and fly sort of thing. And then, [3029.7] Kris "StinkyFPV": then COVID happened, lockdown happened, and now you, you kind of limited to maybe four or five [3033.7] Kris "StinkyFPV": pilots, um, a night if you're lucky. So it's a bit difficult to do sort of like organized races like [3039.14] Kris "StinkyFPV": that. So I, I, I, so the question is yet, how, how has the, how has the hobby peaked? You know, [3045.38] Kris "StinkyFPV": have I come in at the, at the ass end of it and it's just kind of like tapering off now or, [3050.26] Kris "StinkyFPV": so I think that's where the whip council comes in. They want to try and [3054.18] Kris "StinkyFPV": promote, um, and generate more events for a lot of people to go to. [3059.3] Frank: So if, if anyone is listening, who's like, has a little local group or something, um, [3064.1] Frank: and wants to get involved, maybe host, uh, an event, a wider being a national event with, [3070.58] Frank: how do they get in touch with the work council? Where, where, where's the light to shine in the [3075.3] Kris "StinkyFPV": sky? They're, um, they're pretty uncontactable actually. I would say, yeah, it's a, it's just [3082.1] Kris "StinkyFPV": a Facebook group. Um, I would say in the first instance, if you reach out to, I'm going to throw [3087.78] Kris "StinkyFPV": names out now and they're probably going to kill me for this. Um, so you can, you can reach out to [3091.3] Kris "StinkyFPV": myself. Um, my name is Chris Smith or Dettie McStinky. Um, Matt Snell, who runs the Birmingham [3097.14] Kris "StinkyFPV": one, uh, Mike Brooks, who runs the drone racing Cornwall club, uh, Paul Jaggers, who runs the [3107.54] Kris "StinkyFPV": London indoor flying club. Um, he actually, I think he doesn't necessarily run too. He does [3112.26] Kris "StinkyFPV": the indoor London club, which is a bar in London, actually, which is a quite cool place to go and [3116.9] Kris "StinkyFPV": fly. And then he also is a member of the Hanworth club, which is in Feltham. So if you reach out to [3124.58] Kris "StinkyFPV": any one of us, I'm sure, I'm sure there was a few other names in the group that I'm forgetting, [3129.14] Kris "StinkyFPV": but if you just reach out to one of us, um, we'll, we'll be in contact. Matt's really active in the [3134.9] Kris "StinkyFPV": scene. Paul's active in the scene. So is Mike. So we all try to keep, um, as I read the ground as [3142.5] Frank: much as possible with regards to any news for whipping in the UK outside of the council, uh, [3152.02] Frank: where, where does sort of a lot of work stuff get, uh, sort of, where does it happen? Is it, is it [3158.74] Frank: on Facebook? Is there a discord? Is it just people knowing each other? Yeah. So it is a bit of a, [3168.74] Kris "StinkyFPV": I found it initially difficult at first to find information on this, but once you start, once you [3174.74] Kris "StinkyFPV": find one FPV group, like it becomes a, you just, you just get introduced to all of them all of a [3180.34] Kris "StinkyFPV": sudden. Um, so there's tiny whip UK. There's a Facebook group page on, um, called tiny whip, [3187.86] Kris "StinkyFPV": tiny whip UK. And that's, uh, like, uh, we post a lot of information on there. If anyone's a member [3194.5] Kris "StinkyFPV": of that, it's free to join. Um, you, you'll generally get most of the information that we [3199.06] Kris "StinkyFPV": find out from there. Matt always shares posts from Birmingham, Mike shares posts. So all of [3204.42] Kris "StinkyFPV": the information that we do get, we drop into that chat. So I would say it's not a chat, it's a [3209.54] Kris "StinkyFPV": Facebook page. So tiny whip UK is probably the best place to go for that. Um, there isn't really [3216.5] Kris "StinkyFPV": far short of that. It becomes a case of who you know, really. And that's, and that's the problem [3221.38] Kris "StinkyFPV": with the hobby is, is cause it's so niche and it's so small. There are probably a league table [3227.06] Kris "StinkyFPV": or website or something where people know. No. No. So that's one of the, the ideas that we're [3232.5] Kris "StinkyFPV": actually bounding around at the moment is, is doing a whoop league that, that is done over a year [3238.1] Kris "StinkyFPV": and over and it incorporates all of the, the big events. So they'll, they'll all contribute to [3243.22] Kris "StinkyFPV": points over the, over the year in the league. Um, and they would also do something like set races. [3250.18] Kris "StinkyFPV": So some one club would publish a track and then every other club has to race that track and set [3256.34] Kris "StinkyFPV": the best time they could possibly set on that kind of that kind of interaction between clubs. [3261.3] Kris "StinkyFPV": Cause there's, there's, there's only about four or five, well, five now that Caroline's just pointed [3266.66] Kris "StinkyFPV": out one there that I wasn't aware of. Um, but there, there aren't that many clubs that I know [3271.54] Kris "StinkyFPV": of in the UK. Um, you've got Hanworth, uh, you did have race cars or sadly that's not happening [3278.58] Kris "StinkyFPV": anymore. Um, you have drone racing Cornwall, which is quite a big one drone circle is based [3287.14] Kris "StinkyFPV": up in Manchester. They are trying to reignite. Um, they used to do a lot of local, uh, races, [3296.1] Kris "StinkyFPV": but they're trying to reignite that. That one's done by Craig Hannon, um, and Dan Carpy, I believe. [3303.86] Kris "StinkyFPV": Um, and those are the only ones that I kind of really know of, like the, the bigger clubs that [3310.74] Kris "StinkyFPV": inter kind of interact SGD sees, I think is more five inch racing focus, but they do sort of like [3317.54] Kris "StinkyFPV": in the, in the downtime, they do a little, the little mini whoop league. So it'd be good if we [3320.98] Frank: could get one of them. Yeah. I mean, I'm, I'm sure there's, there must be a bunch of the [3328.02] Frank: five inch quads clubs that, uh, you know, coming into winter are going to be [3332.42] Frank: doing less and less. And I know just thinking about it, I mean, at the moment, the, uh, team [3339.38] Frank: GBR, the, the five inch, uh, racing team that the BMFA sponsored to go out to Korea and do their [3348.26] Frank: national racing. That's going on at the moment. They're at the world drone racing championship, [3353.94] Frank: so which combination of words describes that event out in Korea at the moment. And, um, uh, [3361.7] Frank: Cerberus who, uh, runs killer quads has just been made chairman of the BDRA. Um, I know he's, [3370.02] Frank: he's held a tiny event before, so I wonder whether, you know, there might be some kind of [3377.62] Frank: collaboration there. That would be nice. Yeah. So he, he works quite closely with Matt Snell, [3382.74] Kris "StinkyFPV": actually. He did the, um, the race directing for Birmingham. I would suspect he's going to be doing [3387.86] Kris "StinkyFPV": it again for the Birmingham coming up. So yeah, Cerberus has done quite a few things and [3396.42] Kris "StinkyFPV": he does a little, he does do a little local whoop night at a pub in Birmingham. I can't [3402.66] Kris "StinkyFPV": remember what nights though they are though. Just thinking about actually there's two more. There is, [3407.62] Kris "StinkyFPV": there is a tiny whoop club in Hull, but I can't remember who runs it. Um, and there is a whoop [3414.42] Kris "StinkyFPV": night hosted down in Brighton by a chap called Mike Pinker. Jack, Jack, you must know this person. [3423.38] Stephen: Come back to us. Also, if there's any web developers out there who like tiny whoop, [3429.7] Stephen: please, please for the love of God, someone just put all this information somewhere, [3433.7] Stephen: people can find it screaming out for it clearly. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, that's, that's probably a [3438.9] Kris "StinkyFPV": takeaway for me off of this is to actually try and consolidate somewhere that's easy for everyone. [3445.38] Kris "StinkyFPV": To have access to this information for sure, where we can then post up all of this, um, [3450.26] Kris "StinkyFPV": this good stuff and can get people involved. It sounds like people have a magic list of [3455.46] Stephen: bookmarks. And once you've got this magic list of like 37 special bookmarks to various groups and [3460.9] Stephen: forums on the internet, you're on the inside. That's it. Yeah. Yeah. You definitely much on [3467.94] Kris "StinkyFPV": the outside looking in and then we might invite you in and then, you know, we'll assess if we like [3472.98] Kris "StinkyFPV": you or not first. And if we like you, you're going to take the knowledge and you've got to [3477.06] Stephen: be able to recite the 37 whoop chapters of the UK without prompting because you're not allowed [3484.58] Curry: to write it down and you will be judged by the whoop council and your entry loaded on [3492.98] Kris "StinkyFPV": punishments are quite severe out here. So be careful. It's actually, uh, the community is [3499.38] Kris "StinkyFPV": really, really helpful. This one of the boons about this hobby is the, the community behind [3504.18] Kris "StinkyFPV": tiny whoops and bigger quads in general are just so friendly and so helpful that you could just [3510.18] Kris "StinkyFPV": turn up with a bind and fly goggles and a radio and say, I don't know what I'm doing. And someone [3514.9] Kris "StinkyFPV": will sit down, work it through with you, get you in the air. I think that's what, I think that's [3520.66] Kris "StinkyFPV": what we really liked the most about it is everyone is just, even if you're racing someone and you're [3524.58] Kris "StinkyFPV": in a competition and their work just suddenly just crashes out, you get like 10 pilots come [3530.1] Kris "StinkyFPV": running over to him. What can we do? Here's some props. Here's a frame. Here's a flight controller. [3534.26] Stephen: It's so much more friendly for beginners as well. Like the stakes are that much lower than trying [3539.06] Stephen: to like scream around with a six, six S five inch, which, you know, could do serious damage with a [3545.46] Stephen: little whoop like, Oh no, you hit me in the head. Oh, I'm fine. Yeah. Yeah. Well, after all, yeah, [3552.58] Kris "StinkyFPV": there is a thing called face punching in the, in the hobby, which is basically just flying your [3556.58] Kris "StinkyFPV": whip into someone's face. They're so like, they're just not going to cause, I mean, the whip would [3561.86] Kris "StinkyFPV": end up worse off than it flying into your face. It is so light, but that's enough to watch out. [3567.54] Kris "StinkyFPV": That's the only thing. Oh yeah. Yeah. That's why we usually target Tony, I think. [3574.34] Kris "StinkyFPV": Yeah. Unfortunately I've had the whip caught in my hair a few times. That's that's painful. [3578.66] Stephen: Challenging. Please, please. Someone, someone must have a proper move at all. Please, please. [3586.66] Kris "StinkyFPV": It normally just results in you pulling it out and you left up with these giant [3589.22] Kris "StinkyFPV": curls in your hair that just stay there for weeks. Could be worse. Yeah. Yeah. [3595.06] Kris "StinkyFPV": So, um, I did want to, there was a, one other thing as well. Um, there is, uh, a friend of [3601.78] Kris "StinkyFPV": my Martian McFly is hosting a whip night on the 20th of October. Um, that one is in Essex. [3609.38] Kris "StinkyFPV": I might be going to that if I can get myself to it, but it's, it's just a one night whip fun. Um, [3615.3] Kris "StinkyFPV": Martian's a really nice guy. He's actually one of those people. He got me into winding my own [3620.5] Kris "StinkyFPV": motors. Um, he's an absolute nut job. He just, he loves it. I don't know. One of those people [3627.22] Kris "StinkyFPV": that likes that kind of pain. Here he is. Hello. So yeah. So if anyone is actually interested in [3638.34] Kris "StinkyFPV": actually getting into, uh, winding your own motors, uh, tap up Martian, great source of [3643.62] Kris "StinkyFPV": information. Really friendly video, right? If you are looking for him on YouTube. [3648.82] Kris "StinkyFPV": Yeah. He's done a few videos. I think he's doing something. He's planning something a little bit [3652.9] Kris "StinkyFPV": more where he's actually going to put a lot of information online for people to actually go and [3656.98] Kris "StinkyFPV": see. Cause there is, there is a, there is a few people out there that are now starting to do that. [3665.7] Stephen: I've done a lot of stuff with quads, but I've never considered winding a motor. Anytime I've [3669.78] Stephen: looked at the information, shied away from it. So, uh, kudos. It's all I can say there. [3675.62] Kris "StinkyFPV": Yeah. Especially on those 702 motors. Oh my word. [3678.98] Kris "StinkyFPV": You just, you go blind after 10 minutes. [3686.18] Frank: Well, thank you very much. Hopefully we've, we've kind of collected together an entire body of [3692.02] Frank: knowledge of works, uh, into one episode. Um, well, hopefully there's sort of more events [3699.86] Frank: come out of it. Cause, uh, you know, I'm sure there are a lot of people that are flying in [3706.1] Frank: their own spaces. Uh, I've seen lots of tiny whips just going around after like, uh, a day [3713.7] Frank: at the fields. So I'm sure they're around. Be good to kind of network everyone back together. [3719.06] Kris "StinkyFPV": Uh, yeah. There are a lot of, um, in solo whoop flyers. And I think there are a lot of other [3729.38] Kris "StinkyFPV": people that are potentially wanting to get into something that not so much serious, but wanting [3734.34] Kris "StinkyFPV": to join a group of people that are all like-minded and just have fun flying the work. So if, if anyone [3740.98] Kris "StinkyFPV": wants to get in contact or all needs help arranging an event, please reach out. Um, we're really happy [3746.98] Kris "StinkyFPV": to do so. In fact, we'll encourage and we'll try and make it the best event we can for you guys. [3753.69] Frank: Yeah. Awesome. Well, hopefully all that happens, but thank you very much for coming along tonight. [3759.85] Frank: Thanks for having me. Wow. It's been great. Uh, you have been listening to Let's Drone [3765.05] Frank: Out. Tonight we have had Curry. Goodbye. We've had Steven. Good luck to all you whoop flyers [3773.21] Frank: over the winter. We've had Chris slash 30 McStinky. Adios. And I have been Andrew S. Frank. [3782.89] Frank: Jack left us early in the show. Uh, hopefully we'll see him again shortly, but thank you for [3789.05] Frank: listening to Let's Drone Out and good night. Thanks to our wonderful Patreons at the bottom [3794.01] Stephen: as well for keeping the show going. Good night everyone. Telemetry lost.
