[0.0] Jack: Hello, and you're listening to Let's Drone Out, a special thank you to our lovely patrons
[6.28] Jack: that help donate so that we can pay the editor to remove the swear words and silly things
[11.36] Jack: we say.
[13.0] Jack: Massive thank you to…
[14.4] Jack: Carlos Campos!
[16.0] Jack: Art Faulkner!
[17.84] Stephen: Sam Dahmer.
[19.68] Stephen: On with the show.
[20.68] Jack: Hello and welcome to another episode of Let's Drone Out.
[57.41] Jack: Tonight we are joined by, hopefully fully recovered from Covid, Stephen.
[62.97] Jack: Hello, good evening and welcome.
[65.37] Stephen: Why are the windows swapping around?
[68.37] Stephen: Hierarchy or…
[69.37] Frank: I don't know.
[70.37] Frank: Jack just appeared and all of a sudden everything was moving and like settings being changed.
[77.17] Jack: No one's allowed to touch that.
[78.81] Jack: Frank's in charge.
[79.81] Jack: Our lord and master.
[82.81] Jack: Stop fiddling with stuff.
[85.25] Jack: Hello Frank.
[86.97] Jack: Fiddling.
[88.61] Jack: My buddy Carl.
[89.61] Jack: Howdy.
[90.61] Jack: And I'm bright so I fly.
[92.61] Jack: Hello.
[93.61] Stephen: Or Jake.
[95.89] Stephen: After the culmination of many months of research and shipping delays and fighting the good
[103.09] Stephen: fight, the cold has a result to talk about, I think, right?
[107.61] Koel: I do.
[108.61] Koel: I do.
[110.61] Koel: Like you said, after many months of twiddling my thumbs, waiting on the postman, yelling
[117.45] Koel: at Chinese manufacturers to make sure my things are delivered to me, I finally received the
[124.57] Koel: final parts of my seven-inch build, yes.
[129.17] Jack: Speaking of parts, Carl, I just sent you the pricing of getting the HD whatever.
[136.93] Jack: When you text me, I remember to send it to you.
[139.81] Jack: Oh.
[140.81] Jack: Oh, okay.
[141.81] Jack: It's not to derail you.
[142.89] Jack: But yeah, I am shocked.
[146.09] Jack: His soldering skills are now getting disturbingly good.
[150.89] Koel: I can show them.
[151.89] Koel: I can show them off.
[152.89] Koel: I actually just sent myself a screenshot.
[154.73] Stephen: What disturbing stuff has he been soldering?
[158.77] Koel: Well disturbing to you, probably, Steven.
[161.53] Koel: Kiss ultras.
[162.53] Jack: Yeah.
[163.53] Jack: He doesn't need me.
[165.53] Jack: He doesn't need me anymore.
[167.53] Jack: He asked me redundant questions that I have to shout at him.
[170.53] Jack: Yeah.
[171.53] Stephen: Well, you know, you gave him that first taste and after that, you know, he's just out throwing
[176.13] Stephen: money.
[177.13] Stephen: I just need a shirt that just says read.
[178.13] Stephen: It's asking for flight controllers.
[181.61] Koel: Let's see.
[182.61] Koel: Share screen.
[183.61] Koel: How do I...
[184.61] Koel: Oh, here it is.
[185.61] Koel: Okay.
[186.61] Koel: So, well, this is my...
[187.61] Koel: These are my soldering skills.
[188.61] Koel: This is like basically when before everything was done, but yeah, it's not too bad.
[195.61] Koel: It's getting there.
[196.61] Stephen: Like Christmas tree poor balls, Cole.
[198.97] Stephen: It's like a festive flight controller.
[200.37] Stephen: Look at those shiny little chrome domes.
[202.77] Koel: Well, you know, I'm trying.
[205.09] Koel: You know what?
[206.09] Koel: It's funny because I always see when Jack does his and then I'm like, okay, that's my
[210.13] Koel: standard.
[211.13] Koel: If mine aren't nice, shiny, silvery tests, I mean, balls of solder, then I have to redo
[217.73] Koel: them until they look like nice, shiny balls.
[219.85] Stephen: What makes me a bit sad is sometimes mine are lovely and shiny when I sold them and
[224.09] Stephen: I go back 10 minutes later and they've lost their shine and I'm like, oh, you got to get
[228.81] Koel: out that toothbrush and some ISO and give them a little.
[232.45] Stephen: Yeah.
[233.45] Koel: Yeah.
[234.45] Koel: But, uh, yeah, so that's my, that's my soldering there.
[237.57] Koel: And yeah, Flux is, uh, Flux is like, it's magic, man.
[242.97] Jack: Yeah.
[244.65] Jack: If they go, if they go dull after a while, it might be because you're mixing lead, uh,
[252.13] Jack: lead with unleaded solder or it might be, uh, two different, um, mixes.
[260.09] Jack: It could be soldering, Jack.
[262.09] Jack: Uh, that's it.
[263.09] Jack: Oh.
[264.09] Jack: Yeah.
[265.09] Jack: If you're like reheating something, you haven't put Flux on it and it's oxygenation.
[270.29] Jack: So put a bit of Flux on it, heat it up to let, you know, come to full.
[275.29] Koel: Well, you know, what I noticed too is like on the smaller pads that what I've found,
[281.29] Koel: again, just, just from doing my build and I'll show you guys the building in a second,
[285.13] Koel: but high heat, get in and out with the soldering iron, make sure you have Flux on, on, you
[290.89] Koel: know, before you start doing stuff.
[293.33] Koel: I feel like the longer I keep things on, like the longer I try to keep the heat on the pad,
[297.77] Koel: the worse my soldering gets.
[298.97] Koel: It's always like, I mean, unless it's a big pad, it's like, you just got to touch it and
[302.81] Koel: take it off and, and, you know, pray that the longer you leave stuff hot, the more like
[308.29] Stephen: nasty oxides and crap you end up in there.
[311.21] Koel: Yeah.
[312.21] Koel: But yeah.
[313.21] Koel: So this is my, um, this is my new seven inch, uh, long range build.
[317.81] Koel: It's uh, so it's the rad lion, rad lion frame, uh, which is, um, a Falcon rat.
[324.47] Koel: If you guys know a Falcon rat, the long range, uh, flyer from, from Canada.
[328.59] Koel: This is his frame and it's actually a, um, it's not like an official release one.
[334.83] Koel: Uh, it's like a beta version.
[336.77] Koel: Actually it was one of like his like early versions that I got handed down by a local
[340.15] Koel: friend of mine.
[341.15] Koel: But so yeah, it's a seven inch, uh, rad lion running kiss ultra V two.
[347.31] Koel: I've got, uh, the T Rex cam in the front Fox here, um, T motor F 90, 1300 KV motors, 28,
[356.91] Koel: oh six and a half's, um, rush solo tank and the top plate there, um, T motor F 55 V two
[367.17] Koel: ESC, uh, true RC singularity, uh, crossfire diversity, running a true RC bard pole and
[377.21] Koel: running, uh, obviously the immortal T on the front, uh, hero 11 mini and, oh yeah, BN two
[386.11] Koel: 20 GPS on the back.
[388.63] Koel: Uh, I don't know.
[391.15] Koel: Oh yeah.
[392.15] Koel: Yeah.
[393.15] Koel: I was actually able to do a little maiden flight, which was cool.
[397.35] Koel: And uh, believe it or not on the, uh, on the maiden flight, I got to go chase a train,
[402.95] Koel: which was pretty fun.
[403.95] Koel: Uh, it just flew so good right off the bat.
[406.11] Koel: I was like, well, the train's going by, what am I going to do?
[409.87] Stephen: And now one of the, uh, tuning authorities for ultra, there you are.
[417.95] Koel: I think I'm more like, uh, I'm, I'm, I would say the opposite of that, but, uh, oh yeah,
[424.95] Koel: Carolina, yeah, that the arms there, I think these ones, which are the earlier version,
[429.71] Koel: these are seven mil thick arms, but the official version, I think are eight mil.
[435.27] Koel: Um, but, uh, I was actually speaking to pretty thick, isn't it?
[441.03] Koel: Yeah.
[442.03] Koel: I think it helps keep the, the, the resonance frequencies and whatnot, but the, um, having
[446.83] Koel: these arm braces, actually talking to Falcon rat is, it helps to get those lower end or
[451.79] Koel: those lower end frequencies above 200 Hertz, which a lot of, um, a lot of seven inch quads
[459.91] Koel: have issues with that sort of like, you know, having that, that frequency resonant frequency
[464.75] Koel: under 200, which then gives tuning issues and, and weird stuff.
[469.63] Stephen: So if you want to be filtering out stuff that's of a high frequency, but I'm leaving the low
[475.71] Stephen: frequency stuff alone, cause that's kind of where your stick and put and prop wash happens
[480.95] Stephen: and you want to be able to notice prop wash and react to it.
[484.51] Stephen: And obviously you don't want your, like your, your stick inputs and things to the actual
[489.79] Stephen: intended moves to get filtered out.
[492.23] Koel: For sure.
[493.23] Koel: Yeah.
[494.31] Koel: I can show you guys, uh, the maiden flight.
[496.87] Koel: If you, if you care to see, um, we pull it up here.
[502.55] Stephen: I'm going to guess it's going to be in, in a window and you're going to have like filmed
[506.71] Stephen: the GoPro screen on your phone.
[509.03] Stephen: Um, wait, sorry, it's like, uh, hipster stylings on his video.
[516.39] Koel: Um, maybe, I don't know.
[519.07] Koel: I'm confused by what that means, but, um, let me see here.
[522.99] Koel: Let me see.
[524.75] Frank: Can you put a Paileroi camera on?
[526.75] Frank: Yeah.
[527.75] Frank: Oh, oh yes.
[528.75] Koel: Yes.
[529.75] Koel: Of course I did.
[530.75] Koel: Yeah.
[531.75] Koel: Yes.
[532.75] Koel: Yeah.
[533.75] Koel: Um, oh, are you talking about that thing where the outsides are like that or whatever?
[537.51] Stephen: Yeah.
[538.51] Stephen: Sometimes, uh, some, I was just joking because sometimes you'll like share the video and
[541.67] Stephen: it'll be like this little window of video in the middle, but that's, that's beautiful.
[545.11] Stephen: Can absolutely see what's going on.
[546.51] Koel: That's cool.
[547.51] Koel: Okay.
[548.51] Koel: Okay.
[549.51] Koel: So, so here it is.
[550.51] Koel: So basically you got my DVR on the right hand side, uh, you got, you know, you'll
[553.95] Koel: see what happens here, but so yeah, I basically, I got, I got satellites.
[558.91] Koel: I got nine pretty quick and then I was like, okay, well I guess I can take off and this
[563.03] Koel: is what the, oh yeah, I'm using a lithium ion.
[565.45] Koel: This is a 4,000 milliamp hour lithium ion.
[568.31] Koel: It can do 45 amp constant.
[570.89] Koel: And if you see on the right, there is, um, yeah, snow on the ground and there's also
[575.91] Koel: a huge flock of Canadian, um, Canadian geese.
[579.71] Koel: Wait, yeah.
[580.71] Koel: Canadian geese, there's like literally, I don't know if you can see just like normal
[583.87] Stephen: geese, but better behaved, you know, I got it.
[587.63] Koel: I think they're, yeah, there's a bunch of Canadian geese.
[590.11] Koel: Yeah.
[591.11] Koel: But so there's like, there were tons of them and they, they were like in the field.
[594.11] Koel: So I was like, okay, well I'll try and avoid them as much as I can, but let's go chase
[597.07] Koel: after this, uh, train for a moment.
[599.27] Stephen: Um, it's got some speed, hasn't it?
[602.23] Koel: Yeah.
[603.23] Koel: I mean, so yeah, I'm going 45 kilometers an hour.
[605.67] Koel: It looks like right now at one point I was going like 89 kilometers an hour according
[609.75] Koel: to the, according to, um, OSD there.
[613.67] Koel: But I mean, dude, for a maiden flight, if you check it, if you look at the OSD, it's
[618.95] Koel: flying beauty or sorry, the, um, the, the DVR, I should say it, I mean, how much better
[626.07] Koel: do I need it?
[627.07] Koel: Yeah.
[628.07] Koel: How much better do I need it to fly?
[629.07] Koel: I, I did get a bit of bounce back on some flips and rolls, but I'm not freestyling
[632.95] Koel: this drone.
[633.95] Koel: So, um, also first time flying over water, that little pond, I was like, well, I mean,
[639.35] Koel: I'm flying.
[640.35] Koel: So I guess I can probably do it.
[641.87] Koel: Um, was there any, yeah.
[644.51] Koel: So there, uh, a little bit of wind that day, not too bad, but yeah, at one point there
[649.07] Koel: I was going like 70 kilometers an hour catching up to this train.
[651.79] Koel: Now I'm going to do a second.
[653.79] Stephen: So that train's going to be doing like 30, 40 mile an hour and you're easily keeping
[658.11] Stephen: pace with it going a little bit faster than that.
[660.43] Stephen: Consistently.
[661.43] Koel: Yep.
[662.43] Koel: Yep.
[663.43] Koel: Yeah.
[664.43] Koel: It wasn't, uh, it wasn't too bad.
[665.43] Koel: And then in a few seconds here, you'll see, I do a bit of a turnaround.
[667.87] Koel: Uh, and then I kind of, I don't know how to say it, but I guess I do a little turnaround
[673.39] Koel: and I'm kind of diving down a bit.
[675.31] Koel: I start getting a bit of breakup, but, um, it's actually, it's, it's in a few seconds
[679.07] Koel: still, but I don't know, man, I was really impressed with this frame.
[682.15] Koel: The rad lion it's super solid kiss ultra rock solid and pretty low there.
[691.03] Koel: I know.
[692.03] Koel: I know.
[693.03] Koel: I mean, then again, like, I mean, if you ever watch Falcon rad, he's a huge advocate that
[697.87] Koel: he never uses anything more than, um, uh, 800 milliwatts.
[702.55] Koel: Actually I think it's right there when it, when the breakup gets a little bad, let me
[704.99] Koel: see if I can find it.
[705.99] Koel: So 85 kilometers an hour here.
[707.71] Koel: Oh yeah.
[708.71] Stephen: It doesn't look like it's struggling either.
[710.95] Stephen: You're not getting a bunch of sag or you, you still have like 21 something volts.
[714.59] Koel: Oh yeah.
[715.59] Koel: So you know what?
[716.59] Koel: I did two flights, um, just on this one pack and I got the first, the first flight was
[721.87] Koel: like 10 minutes.
[723.15] Koel: The second flight was like 10 minutes and there was still gas in the tank, man.
[726.51] Koel: I could have still gone another couple of minutes at least.
[730.07] Koel: So like with one pack, I'm, if I could get a 20 minute flight, I mean, I'm laughing and,
[735.23] Koel: um, you know, I'm going to start with one.
[737.63] Koel: I have two, maybe I'll do a six S two P configuration, but, um, but I also want to try out lipos,
[743.79] Koel: a big lipo as well and see how it goes.
[746.03] Koel: Um, but yeah, for maiden flight, not too shabby, man.
[750.55] Koel: I was, uh, I was super impressed.
[752.91] Stephen: I saw the current meters at zero.
[754.83] Stephen: That's the only thing that jumps out, but I guess that's just something to check before
[758.83] Stephen: you get out next time to tick the box.
[761.15] Koel: Totally.
[762.15] Koel: That's exactly what it was.
[763.15] Koel: I, um, basically in the GUI, all I had to do was in, um, I guess current sense or whatever.
[768.99] Koel: There's either ESC telemetry or flight can, uh, flight controller sensor or something.
[774.11] Koel: And I forgot to click over a flight controller sensor on it.
[777.31] Koel: So it's like that and it works perfectly fine.
[780.23] Koel: Now I just, now, now what I have to do is I need to calibrate the current sensor by,
[784.59] Koel: you know, doing the, how many milliamps in, how many milliamps out or whatever, and do
[788.99] Koel: the little divider for that.
[789.99] Koel: But other than that, it's working and uh, wait, congratulations.
[795.59] Koel: Thanks man.
[796.59] Koel: Yeah.
[797.59] Koel: It's, uh, it's, it's, it's a rewarding feeling, man.
[800.19] Koel: I, it's, it's basically, yeah, it's my second build I've ever done.
[803.67] Koel: Like basically like 95 ish percent on my own.
[807.59] Koel: Um, I got a bunch of help from, well, Jack was helping me a bunch.
[812.35] Koel: Uh, you know, I had a few questions for him, uh, some of the guys in the ultra discord
[816.39] Koel: were helping me out.
[817.39] Koel: Um, and, and you know what, there's actually a few things that I learned in the process
[822.11] Koel: as well.
[823.11] Koel: Um, let me see if I can pull up one other thing I can show you guys.
[827.39] Koel: Cause it was, um, let me see window, uh, bear with me here for two seconds.
[836.31] Koel: There was, um, a DVR thing that I wanted to show you guys and I guess it's not going to
[840.47] Koel: blur out my, um, my GPS coordinates, but I don't really care.
[844.39] Koel: It's fine.
[845.39] Stephen: Um, because it's like the window down, so we can't see the coordinates, I guess.
[850.71] Koel: I don't care.
[851.71] Koel: Man.
[852.71] Koel: It's like, whoop de do.
[853.71] Stephen: Oh my God.
[854.71] Koel: Yeah.
[855.71] Koel: And it's not like I was flying anywhere.
[856.71] Koel: I wasn't supposed to be.
[857.71] Koel: So it's all good.
[859.03] Stephen: Um, but, but you live on those train tracks.
[862.47] Koel: I do.
[863.47] Koel: I'm going to know where you live.
[865.23] Koel: Can you guys see this, uh, screen here with the DVR?
[867.79] Koel: Yeah.
[868.79] Koel: Yeah.
[870.11] Koel: So, um, oh wait, that's the wrong one.
[872.51] Koel: That's the absolutely wrong one.
[873.83] Koel: Uh, where is it?
[874.99] Koel: Oh, shoot.
[875.99] Koel: And now I'm okay.
[877.23] Koel: Here we go.
[878.23] UNKNOWN: Here we go.
[879.23] Koel: Here we go.
[880.23] Koel: Here we go.
[881.23] Koel: Uh, okay.
[883.39] Koel: So if you notice, um, my OSD elements, I guess I could have shown on the other one, but
[889.31] Koel: my OSD elements are in, you know, they're not in the best of, uh, positioning and stuff.
[894.31] Koel: So I didn't realize at first that I could.
[897.59] Stephen: I'm really obsessed with landing like just when one of the GPS digits ticks over.
[902.47] Koel: Well, so I didn't, and you're like just 50 quid, exactly 50.
[910.59] Koel: Yeah.
[911.59] Koel: Yeah.
[912.59] Koel: But, but basically I didn't realize that with kiss ultra V2 and with OSD elements that
[916.19] Koel: you can actually double click them and align to the left, to the right, to the center.
[920.91] Koel: And luckily Alexander Fedorov, the creator of ultra, uh, he was like, dude, align your
[928.39] Koel: like, what are you doing?
[929.63] Koel: And, and I was actually able to fix it because it bugged me.
[934.15] Koel: I was like, I can't get my, my GPS stuff all the way over on one side.
[938.31] Koel: It's like stuck.
[939.31] Koel: And then, you know, it was just a simple fix of just, you know, double click your, um,
[946.23] Koel: double click the OSD element, align to which side you want, and then you can move it nicely.
[951.51] Koel: Yeah.
[952.51] Koel: So, so that was really cool.
[953.51] Koel: So yeah, shout out to Alexander for helping me out with that.
[956.27] Koel: Um, and also, uh, there was a new setting in, in ultra V2.
[960.23] Koel: That's like a fly home alarm, uh, basically in alarms, you can set, um, basically like
[965.99] Koel: a message thing saying like, if you're going to be able to make it home in time or like,
[970.63] Koel: if not, and you know, it'll start yelling at you being like, turn around, like, what
[975.51] Koel: are you doing?
[976.51] Koel: Um, stuff like that though, because wind, well, yeah, yeah, I mean, it's, it's still
[984.03] Koel: nice to have.
[985.03] Koel: I think it's kind of a cool feature that he just implemented, but, uh, yeah, I, I mean,
[989.31] Koel: I haven't actually got to test it properly yet.
[991.03] Koel: I just kind of set it up in the configurator or the, the GUI or whatever, but, uh, yeah.
[996.67] Koel: So that's basically, uh, that's the gist of my, my new build and, and it flies and it's
[1002.03] Koel: great and I'm happy.
[1003.71] Koel: And I just need to heat shrink my, uh, my receiver and, and I'm good.
[1010.55] Koel: So it's always a success.
[1012.95] Stephen: So did you try the, uh, return to home then?
[1016.27] Koel: So you know what?
[1017.27] Koel: Um, I was actually speaking with, um, Alexander about this as well, because it's like, you
[1023.55] Stephen: don't need to miss it until you need it.
[1025.59] Stephen: And then it'll just work.
[1026.59] Stephen: And if it doesn't work, travel to my country and punch me in the face.
[1031.07] Koel: Well, I do have return to home on fail safe ticked, but, um, I basically like, um, I have
[1040.11] Koel: it set up for return home on fail safe, but I use the tango to, which doesn't have a whole
[1044.63] Koel: lot of switches and, uh, you know, buttons and whatnot.
[1048.23] Koel: So with my, like on my freestyle builds, for some reason I have level mode set up.
[1053.39] Koel: So I'm used to having like a level mode switch, which I never use.
[1057.07] Koel: So I don't know why the hell I even have it set up, but, um, it is useful for that stuff.
[1061.87] Stephen: Like when you're just like, Oh crap, where am I just level mode it and punch up?
[1066.91] Koel: Yeah.
[1068.23] Stephen: The thing is she's probably going to be way more useful to have that than, uh, than the
[1072.91] Stephen: freestyle ones.
[1073.91] Koel: Well, I guess by the same time, like I think having a switch for return to home would be
[1079.19] Koel: way more beneficial than a switch for level mode.
[1082.19] Koel: So I think what I'm going to end up doing is, is just ditching level mode for my seven
[1085.99] Koel: inch and, and just putting on return, enable return to home.
[1089.87] Koel: And then I, I still have to do some testing, obviously that and see how it works.
[1093.47] Koel: But yeah, it's, uh, it's, uh,
[1096.91] Stephen: look at the tango and seeing how few switches it actually has.
[1100.03] Stephen: Cause I thought it was relatively fancy radio.
[1103.39] Stephen: It has nothing.
[1105.87] Stephen: Oh, no, that's not very bad switches.
[1108.91] Stephen: That's weird.
[1109.91] Stephen: Yeah.
[1110.91] Stephen: Oh no, there's, there's some on the bottom on that.
[1113.03] Stephen: There's these weird little things.
[1114.55] Koel: There is little buttons on the bottom, but I mean, could I use that for return to home?
[1118.95] Koel: Like press a little button on the bottom.
[1121.19] Koel: I have, I have the one on the bottom left.
[1123.47] Koel: I have as a voltage, uh, it'll, it'll yell my voltage out to me.
[1128.71] Koel: Cause I, when I first started in the hobby, um, I, my first quad, it didn't, it, it only
[1134.99] Koel: had a voltage reading from the, the run cam FPV camera.
[1140.71] Koel: So, but after a few crashes, like for some reason it stopped updating.
[1144.47] Koel: So I had to make a button, which Jack helped me figure out where like, while I'm flying,
[1148.99] Koel: I didn't know what my voltage was at.
[1150.35] Koel: So I just press a button.
[1151.35] Koel: It would yell it out to me through my radio.
[1153.27] Jack: Um, but yeah, that's complete the story.
[1157.63] Jack: Come on.
[1158.63] Jack: It's a good one.
[1159.63] Koel: Wait, what do you mean?
[1160.63] Koel: Oh, where are you the one where you want to make me sound like an asshole?
[1164.79] Stephen: Well rather than forcing Cole to implicate himself, like we've got two, two pause and
[1173.23] Stephen: two, three pause.
[1174.39] Stephen: You've got like one for your flight modes, angle mode, and just reading the whoop store
[1181.63] Stephen: page that I found for this radio.
[1183.49] Stephen: So you've got like, you've got one for your like beeper, probably a two position for that
[1189.23] Stephen: and the two position for arming and then a three position for flight mode.
[1193.35] Stephen: That does not still leave you with a three pause that you could use for something else.
[1197.03] Koel: So, um, because I, uh, because I've been trained by Jack who apparently is stuck in the past,
[1203.75] Stephen: I have, I know you are the monster and he is the pupil.
[1208.23] Koel: Well no, sorry.
[1209.23] Koel: Yeah.
[1210.23] Koel: So I, I typically on freestyle quads have idle up set up on a, uh, on the three positions.
[1215.11] Koel: So it's like on the left three position, it's like high is, or I guess low.
[1220.03] Koel: Okay.
[1221.03] Koel: I'm gonna, I don't know.
[1222.03] Koel: I'm confused, but low is nothing.
[1224.67] Koel: The middle one is like the, you know, the idol, whatever.
[1228.71] Stephen: And then you need a little up on an, on a long range build.
[1233.03] Koel: I, the cranks of the exact railings are you no, no, he, uh, well, yeah, cranks are the
[1239.27] Koel: same thing.
[1240.27] Koel: He's like, what are you doing?
[1241.27] Koel: Running idle up, man.
[1242.27] Koel: He's like, it's not 2015 or whatever for like doing perching and stuff, right?
[1248.07] Stephen: So you turn off air mode and you can perch.
[1250.35] Koel: Yeah.
[1251.35] Koel: I don't, to be honest, I don't even know.
[1253.39] Koel: I don't even know.
[1254.39] Koel: Like that's, that's just what I was, what was, I was taught by Jack.
[1257.63] Koel: So yeah.
[1258.63] Jack: Yeah.
[1259.63] Jack: But you, you've done the old hand catch anyway.
[1261.63] Jack: Yeah.
[1262.63] Jack: Yeah.
[1263.63] Jack: I have.
[1264.63] Jack: Oh, look who's here.
[1265.63] Jack: Oh, he doesn't know.
[1266.63] Jack: I know.
[1267.63] Jack: I'm sorry.
[1268.63] Jack: I'm old as dog.
[1270.43] Jack: I'm sorry about that, Alex.
[1274.39] Jack: I'm sorry that Krunk has to repeat himself about that.
[1277.55] Jack: It's just some legacy.
[1279.47] Jack: Bullshit.
[1280.47] Stephen: Oh, Jack's just off to one side.
[1284.63] Stephen: There's a small alter with sharp who's picture and the instructions.
[1288.75] Stephen: Yeah.
[1290.47] Jack: Yeah.
[1291.47] Jack: There is.
[1292.47] Jack: I need to pay Ed to like Photoshop, do a little Photoshop of Carlos as Jesus.
[1300.07] Koel: So it's okay.
[1301.19] Koel: Can somebody, because all I know is idle up, can someone please explain to me what this
[1307.03] Koel: whole pre-arm and everything means?
[1309.67] Koel: Because I get it like, Hey, so you said the min command is still a thousand, right?
[1316.83] Koel: And then, or sorry.
[1319.59] Koel: I don't know.
[1320.59] Stephen: I get confused with this stuff, but Jack, do you want to explain it because it's your
[1323.71] Stephen: religion?
[1324.71] Stephen: You should.
[1325.71] Stephen: Oh, God.
[1326.71] Stephen: I should work.
[1327.71] Stephen: Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, but like, so it's idle up supposed to be like
[1331.79] Stephen: you engage the throttle, but you like disengage the pit loop so it doesn't freak out at low
[1338.03] Jack: throttle.
[1339.03] Jack: Yeah.
[1340.03] Jack: Yeah.
[1341.03] Jack: It's just, yeah.
[1342.03] Jack: The motors are during the back in the day when he used to have like the button for on
[1346.19] Jack: beat a flight, you know, stop motors spinning when armed.
[1350.63] Jack: It's the opposite of that.
[1352.63] Jack: Yeah.
[1353.63] Jack: Like just hide it because no one should use it.
[1356.55] Jack: Yeah, I know.
[1357.55] Jack: Yeah.
[1358.55] Jack: And pre-arm is just an extension of more on threshold.
[1363.43] Jack: You can't, I think it's called idiot threshold now.
[1366.91] Stephen: It was.
[1367.91] Koel: I forget.
[1368.91] Stephen: But yeah, well, it's designed to like control the problems you get with air mode when you're
[1380.03] Stephen: on the ground.
[1381.03] Stephen: Right.
[1382.03] Stephen: So that you don't get like bouncing quads when you're on the ground.
[1384.75] Jack: Well, yeah, but Keystone doesn't do that.
[1388.03] Jack: So why do you need it?
[1389.03] UNKNOWN: I don't know.
[1390.03] Stephen: I mean, it's just because we were, oh, you see a Mr. Steele video five years ago and
[1394.99] Stephen: you like spent an entire weekend trying to figure out how to copy it.
[1397.95] Stephen: And now you're like, that's time.
[1399.63] Stephen: I can't let it go.
[1400.63] Jack: Worse.
[1401.63] UNKNOWN: Snake.
[1402.63] Jack: Snake back in the day.
[1406.71] Koel: Cole use pre-arm.
[1407.71] Koel: Okay.
[1408.71] Koel: Yeah.
[1409.71] Koel: That the cranks are the same thing.
[1410.71] Koel: He said to switch it to that.
[1411.71] Koel: So I, I was I was messing around with it a bit, but it's pretty arm.
[1415.47] Stephen: Is that just a two stage arm?
[1417.15] Stephen: Like safety?
[1418.15] Stephen: Yeah.
[1419.15] Jack: Safety arming.
[1420.15] Jack: Yeah.
[1421.15] Jack: Yeah.
[1422.15] Jack: Yeah.
[1423.15] Jack: And then it will allow you to go into arm or something.
[1425.55] Stephen: I just do it all on the radio so I don't even need a channel for it because you can
[1428.99] Stephen: make on Edge TX or Open TX.
[1431.55] Stephen: You can make stickers.
[1432.91] Jack: Yes.
[1433.91] Jack: You sacrifice your trim switches, didn't you, in order for a pre-arm?
[1438.07] Stephen: Yeah.
[1439.07] Stephen: I mean, I have zero need for the trims.
[1441.43] Stephen: So yeah, I have like trim right and a switch that's also on my right hand and I just hold
[1446.39] Stephen: the trim right and flip the switch and the switch is dead unless I'm holding trim right.
[1451.91] Jack: Rank is a Philistine here.
[1453.91] Jack: This, this, this throws Frank under the bus.
[1456.31] Jack: Oh yeah.
[1457.31] Jack: Thank you for coming back.
[1460.11] Jack: Frank is the type of scumbag who changes the value to negative instead of reversing the
[1469.03] Jack: servo direction in output.
[1471.07] Koel: She's like, she's like, I'll turn off pre-arm for you, or idle up for you.
[1478.68] Koel: Cool.
[1479.68] Jack: I'll turn off.
[1480.68] Jack: Right.
[1483.86] Jack: So when you're trimming, Frank has to trim backwards.
[1488.5] Frank: Well, I solved that problem by not trimming.
[1491.66] Frank: Yeah.
[1492.66] Stephen: I mean, you don't really need to trim on a quad, do you?
[1494.7] Frank: Oh yeah.
[1495.7] Frank: I mean, Jack's talking about servos anyway.
[1497.9] Frank: So like if you have a fixed wing without a flight controller and say you've got your
[1504.82] Frank: roll doing two servos, but in different directions, so it's like you've got a fixed wing.
[1510.74] Stephen: You still got trim on your throttle axis, so you could use that as you could switch that
[1514.94] Stephen: one to be like a momentary.
[1518.1] Stephen: So if you do need to grab a switch, just take the trim off throttle because you never need
[1522.02] Stephen: to trim throttle.
[1523.02] Jack: Yeah.
[1524.02] Jack: Well, what about gas aeroplanes?
[1526.02] Jack: You need to trim to that.
[1527.82] Stephen: When did you last fly a gas aeroplane?
[1530.82] Stephen: Never, ever.
[1531.82] Stephen: Frank, when did you last fly a gas aeroplane?
[1537.82] Frank: 2003, maybe.
[1541.46] Frank: So yeah, moving on.
[1542.46] Jack: You can use the throttle trim.
[1544.46] Jack: At least it had 2000 in it.
[1547.18] Jack: You know, it was 2000 and.
[1550.18] Frank: Yeah.
[1551.42] Frank: This episode was recorded in front of a live online audience, downloaded and edited to
[1555.54] Frank: make sense when it played audio only, censored to please the iTunes people, hosted on the
[1560.38] Frank: internet, forwarded through to your podcast provider, downloaded, playing on your device
[1564.58] Frank: and is now playing in your ears.
[1566.5] Frank: All thanks to our Patreons.
[1568.9] Frank: Consider joining them and you'll also get other online benefits.
[1572.18] Frank: Find out more at patreon.com forward slash let's drone out.
[1576.78] Stephen: So you know how I've got absolutely no problem with impulse control.
[1580.54] Frank: Not at all.
[1582.78] Frank: Yeah.
[1583.78] Frank: What's it called the MT-12, is it?
[1590.22] Stephen: Yeah.
[1591.22] Jack: I think we should challenge Steven to fly a quad using nothing but trims.
[1601.02] Stephen: And look, look, challenge me to fly a quad using this.
[1607.14] Stephen: I've got a joystick down here and I've got enough access to fly a quad.
[1615.34] Jack: Yeah.
[1616.34] Jack: Like cranking the for anyone who like it's a it's a car wheel stick.
[1623.18] Koel: Yeah.
[1624.18] Koel: It seems like everyone's getting into the cars this time of year.
[1627.94] Stephen: I went really deep on the logical switches.
[1630.54] Stephen: And you can see if I hit the logical switch and it's armed, it goes green.
[1636.78] Stephen: And so it's, it doesn't, it's not working mate.
[1643.1] Stephen: And so if I pull the throttle, the throttle axis is completely dead.
[1646.7] Stephen: It doesn't send any signal until I arm it.
[1650.74] Stephen: And then when I go backwards, it does the police funny thing.
[1654.38] Stephen: And then I hit that it just throttles to zero.
[1658.42] Stephen: And so it does like arming on the radio for a car is very flashy.
[1664.82] Stephen: So if I accidentally pick it up and like, when I reach to grab it and hit the trigger,
[1669.22] Stephen: then my car doesn't like disappear off into a bush over a wall into a child or something.
[1677.66] Frank: So what are you going to control with it?
[1679.14] Stephen: I mean, there's, there's cars, hovercrafts, well, cars and maybe quad copters.
[1684.34] Stephen: But I thought I would try with a whoop.
[1686.82] Stephen: I'll see if I can, I can use my, my thumb on the wheel like that, you see, and do that.
[1692.18] Stephen: And it's going to be challenged.
[1693.18] Stephen: And I thought the wheel's going to be your, and obviously the trigger has to be throttle
[1697.86] Stephen: really.
[1698.86] Stephen: And then I've got, I could probably do an angle mode job with, with that, or I've got
[1703.46] Stephen: to disable the trims as well, because they're not doing anything useful.
[1707.1] Stephen: It's just trimming everything.
[1708.1] Stephen: It's got so many trims for like every, because it's got pots all over the place.
[1713.02] Stephen: It's got like four trim switches and you're like, what, what did I just hit?
[1718.06] Stephen: Something beeped.
[1719.06] Stephen: And then it keeps going center, center.
[1720.42] Stephen: And I'm like, what?
[1721.42] Stephen: Which one?
[1722.42] Stephen: There's no obvious lettering on the trim switches.
[1726.62] Stephen: So you're just like, I need to trim the steering, but I've got four trim switches.
[1731.26] Stephen: What the hell am I doing?
[1733.26] Koel: It just looks like you have a drill.
[1734.5] Stephen: You're ready just to like do some home renovation, express all arrests and it's nice.
[1741.02] Stephen: And for anyone who's curious, all the weird little extras, like the joystick stuff, they
[1745.18] Stephen: just seem to come as standard.
[1746.78] Stephen: So you get like a proper carry case and you get the extra switch panel and the funny little
[1752.54] Stephen: joystick adapts on a strap and everything as standard.
[1756.3] Koel: So that's cool.
[1758.34] Stephen: Pretty good deal.
[1759.34] Koel: Yeah.
[1760.34] Stephen: Nice bit of kit.
[1761.34] Stephen: Nice.
[1763.84] Stephen: Oh, and they throw in a receiver as well.
[1765.64] Stephen: You get like a PWM receiver thrown in.
[1768.8] Stephen: Well, one, the RadioMaster E3C, it's a three channel with voltage telemetry.
[1776.88] Stephen: And that's that's really the main reason why I like this so much is the ability to do cars
[1781.92] Stephen: and get a voltage readout and not kill my lipos, because the first thing that happened
[1786.68] Stephen: when I got a car was like, I just killed three lipos in a row, like, yeah, I'm racing it
[1792.4] Stephen: through grass.
[1793.4] Stephen: There's a bit of resistance on the grass.
[1794.92] Stephen: Oh, is that resistance?
[1796.44] Stephen: Oh, no, the battery is like five volts on a 2S.
[1802.4] Koel: No bueno.
[1804.48] Jack: Have you seen any of you?
[1806.16] Jack: Speaking of gas powered aircraft, have any of you seen Andy's new video after 15 years?
[1816.56] Jack: See, it does happen in the turn of the millennia.
[1821.44] Jack: I haven't watched it yet.
[1823.44] Koel: Oh, you mean the Nitro one, the for the brand newest newest one?
[1826.48] Koel: Yeah.
[1827.36] Koel: Oh, no, I didn't see it.
[1828.56] Koel: I didn't see it yet.
[1829.64] Jack: I know.
[1830.16] Jack: Look at that.
[1830.8] Jack: That's got an engine.
[1835.0] Jack: Show us, show us, choke and everything.
[1837.68] Jack: Oh, you want.
[1838.48] Jack: Okay, hang on.
[1839.48] Jack: Show us, show us, Jack.
[1842.2] Jack: Well, it's not mine to I'm sure he won't mind to me.
[1846.64] Jack: At least show us the thumbnail.
[1848.08] Jack: At least show us the thumbnail.
[1849.8] Jack: Look at this.
[1850.48] Jack: Look, look.
[1851.84] Jack: That's from the past.
[1853.0] Jack: That is it's like made of stone.
[1858.16] Jack: Oh, look, this will scare you.
[1860.92] Jack: I mean, Stephen's like, Cole, if you're worried about not flying when you don't know what
[1866.88] Jack: battery voltage, Stephen doesn't trust servos.
[1870.4] Jack: No, no.
[1873.24] Jack: Everyone has their sticking points.
[1875.76] Jack: You know, like helicopters scare me.
[1880.36] Jack: You know, at least with planes.
[1881.56] Jack: They like gliding stuff, whereas helicopters beat the air into submission.
[1886.6] Jack: They're like flying abominations.
[1889.6] Frank: Well, the scary thing about a gasser like that is like, if you receive a radio dies, if
[1894.2] Frank: you like, or if the battery comes out or something, if something bad happens to the
[1898.96] Frank: electrics and your servo on your throttle is like stuck open, like all of a sudden
[1905.04] Frank: you've got this just engine that's just continuing until it runs out of fuel.
[1911.44] Stephen: They spell awful as well.
[1913.24] Stephen: Like I've seen guys at the field setting these up.
[1915.48] Stephen: They spent so long getting them in the air.
[1918.16] Stephen: It's almost like they love covering themselves in gas fumes.
[1922.08] Stephen: Oh, it's stank.
[1923.12] Stephen: And then they fly around for a couple of minutes and then they land and like rev the
[1927.32] Stephen: engine a bunch of parts just revolting.
[1929.92] Jack: It probably took 14 years to charge it because it's a nice battery.
[1936.0] Jack: That's probably what took so long.
[1938.8] Koel: What kind of gas are they running in that?
[1940.6] Koel: Do you know?
[1941.0] Koel: Like where there's like a nitro or.
[1943.84] Stephen: Oh, you say nitro, but what, what is nitro?
[1946.88] Stephen: Exactly.
[1948.04] Stephen: No one really knows generic term for some hobby fuel, isn't it?
[1952.96] Frank: Yeah, it's like the night, but the nitro methane is, is even like, that's the stuff
[1957.84] Frank: to stop it going bang.
[1958.92] Frank: Right.
[1959.56] Frank: I can't remember.
[1961.2] Frank: It's, it's controlling the octane.
[1963.76] Jack: It's going to be a mixed fuel.
[1965.16] Jack: Right.
[1965.44] Jack: Some sort of dinosaur juice.
[1967.24] Jack: I know that.
[1969.88] Stephen: Are they just mini two strokes with very volatile fuel?
[1973.32] Stephen: Is that what?
[1973.72] Frank: Yeah, basically, you do get four stroke ones and you even get like radial ones.
[1981.64] Frank: And like, do you need like an oil fuel mix, right?
[1984.52] Frank: For that.
[1985.56] Jack: Yeah.
[1985.88] Jack: You're in the fuel, I think.
[1987.88] Jack: Yeah.
[1989.08] Jack: It's like, it's the, the smoke that comes out of it.
[1993.24] Jack: I mean, look, it's literally.
[1996.16] Jack: Yeah.
[1996.36] Frank: That's probably why Andy wants to fly it, right?
[1998.48] Frank: It's like, he's probably got another little servo just to do.
[2003.24] Frank: It's got a fart can on the back.
[2006.44] Frank: So make it like really rich.
[2008.32] Frank: Just produce a cloud of smoke out the back.
[2011.44] Frank: I mean, that's a boring.
[2013.08] Jack: It's like a blender with twigs strapped to it.
[2019.36] Jack: I mean, the wings held on with elastic bands.
[2022.8] Stephen: I mean, if you're worried about jet turbines, how that's kind of an engineering
[2027.52] Stephen: feat, but that just looks like an old lawnmower.
[2030.92] Stephen: Well, it is.
[2032.24] Stephen: Yeah.
[2032.88] Jack: That it's one that's pointed towards your face at times.
[2036.56] Stephen: Yeah.
[2037.48] Stephen: Like the problem with my lawnmower is it's facing the ground and I hate that idea.
[2042.56] Stephen: So let's like, hair it around the sky.
[2048.68] Koel: Right.
[2049.08] Koel: Long enough.
[2052.28] Koel: The smoke was to hide your mistakes back in the day.
[2057.2] Koel: That's funny.
[2058.88] Koel: Yeah.
[2059.4] Frank: There are definitely a group of people for whom the smell of nitro is very much.
[2067.2] Frank: Excites them.
[2068.16] Frank: Sex.
[2068.48] Frank: Yeah, exactly.
[2070.16] Frank: Exactly.
[2070.6] Frank: Jack.
[2071.76] Frank: Yeah.
[2073.6] Stephen: How are you groping for something sensible?
[2076.56] Stephen: I just had to vlog the excites them sexually.
[2079.4] Stephen: Yeah, that's fine.
[2081.36] Stephen: Okay.
[2082.36] Stephen: A bunch of guys standing around cars.
[2086.24] Koel: Boners.
[2087.64] Stephen: That's yeah, exactly.
[2091.36] Stephen: Look at the exhaust pipe on that.
[2093.0] Stephen: You would, you would.
[2099.24] Koel: Nothing like the smell of nitro.
[2102.88] Jack: They get high off them.
[2103.76] Jack: I know I rabid dogs.
[2107.2] Jack: I mean, I show the dog bank accounts.
[2110.44] Stephen: That's the trouble.
[2113.2] Jack: I wish Andy was here to defend himself.
[2116.88] Koel: Oh, Robert said the nitro guys at his, at their field, pretty sure they all wear diapers.
[2124.24] Stephen: Excited by the nitro.
[2127.08] Frank: It's because they keep drinking it.
[2128.52] Frank: Well, you're not going to do that.
[2130.6] Frank: You're going to have that effect on you.
[2132.96] Frank: Yeah.
[2134.08] Frank: Tells from excitement, because you can't handle it.
[2138.24] Jack: I'm not even excited at all.
[2139.72] Jack: And I still do that.
[2142.24] Jack: Well, you've probably flown a lot of nitro in the past.
[2145.88] Jack: No, I don't even think you can get the fuel anymore.
[2150.28] Jack: I think they're all just rambling around for it.
[2154.72] Jack: So is it like methanol?
[2156.36] Jack: We banned it, didn't I?
[2159.56] Jack: Because it's, you know, the Captain Planet's going around punching them in a dick.
[2165.8] Stephen: Don't the big fancy trucks, like the Redneck trucks, they run on methanol.
[2171.84] Stephen: That's like a really volatile fuel.
[2174.72] Stephen: They do that.
[2175.96] Stephen: It's nitro the same, because it's a pink fuel, isn't it?
[2178.64] Stephen: It's like always dyed pink, much like a, I guess that's what you were drinking.
[2185.8] Koel: What is not?
[2187.88] Koel: Currently, Model Shop and Leads still sells it, according to Caroline.
[2192.4] Frank: I've still got some glow plugs in the glow pack wrench somewhere.
[2196.0] Frank: But it should be a challenge.
[2197.76] Stephen: You guys who do know how this stuff works should make some sort of like basic nitro
[2202.96] Stephen: flying vehicle from scratch to prove you can still do it.
[2209.04] Stephen: It's got to be able to one take off.
[2211.12] Stephen: That's it.
[2211.64] Stephen: That's the only requirement.
[2212.84] Stephen: Take off and we require a zero fatality guarantee.
[2217.4] Stephen: That's it.
[2218.44] Stephen: And of course, the rules in the road should be met for all participants.
[2221.32] Frank: So as long as no one dies, like if we lose a limb, that's not a fatality.
[2228.84] Frank: So don't pass the test, right?
[2232.4] Frank: Oh, there you are.
[2233.32] Stephen: Nitro methanol was diesel and oil next, according to Robert there.
[2237.96] Frank: Because I do know that like the guys that are still into their gatas big time and
[2244.08] Frank: have been for the past 50 years, like they are missing a few fingers, quite a few of them.
[2250.64] Frank: Wow, that's that ain't no joke.
[2255.4] Jack: Yeah, 10% to 40% of nitro methane mixed with methanol.
[2262.72] Frank: There we go.
[2263.12] Frank: Richard Warwick in the chat is calling you out on your sh**, Jack, because even Amazon
[2267.64] Frank: are selling it.
[2268.2] Frank: So there you go.
[2270.08] Jack: Yeah, I know.
[2270.68] Jack: I weren't I was joking.
[2272.92] Jack: I was like, you know, because you can't buy it as a drink to make you more manly anymore, which
[2279.48] Stephen: you could in 1983.
[2284.2] Jack: It's fine.
[2285.0] Jack: I was joking.
[2288.08] Jack: New cologne.
[2288.92] Jack: Yeah.
[2289.56] Stephen: Yeah.
[2292.8] Stephen: Yeah, I'm sure that the mini tooth is on the shelf next to high karate back in the day.
[2297.16] Frank: Caroline Tyler is going to be flying a VTOL this weekend.
[2302.8] Frank: What is the weather going to be like this weekend?
[2304.24] Stephen: I haven't actually looked.
[2305.24] Stephen: It's been a spate of VTOLs.
[2307.2] Stephen: That's a that if anything is a newsworthy area of VTOLs because all of a sudden, it's like
[2313.32] Stephen: manufacturers have figured out like, you mean, we can put a servo on these engine mounts?
[2319.36] Stephen: This is incredible.
[2320.32] Stephen: Like we never realized all this time that you could combine motor mounts with servos and some
[2326.0] Stephen: of the people's minds just blown.
[2327.6] Stephen: And like 2023, there's been three or four different companies like even jumper released a
[2332.36] Stephen: VTOL that, you know, budget manufacturers like that coming out with VTOLs.
[2336.56] Stephen: It's interesting.
[2337.88] Jack: I think I think it's because they finally got the code down and it was a feature in a flight
[2346.0] Jack: controller that's newer than the KK2 probably.
[2349.68] Frank: Yeah, but I feel like I have to pass on the message from payments that I'm sure he would be
[2356.92] Frank: screaming right now, which is that whilst a lot of them are being sold, they don't tend to
[2365.76] Frank: come with great settings.
[2367.64] Frank: Yeah.
[2367.96] Stephen: So if you want to enter like Tesla, if you want to be the member of an ongoing beta test or like
[2374.4] Stephen: Windows 11, if you want to be the member of an ongoing beta test for the concept of a vertical
[2379.56] Stephen: takeoff and landing aircraft, some of them are for sale at reasonable prices.
[2384.48] Stephen: They never have actually been flown by anyone else before it arrives at your doorstep.
[2389.48] Stephen: So, you know, good luck with that.
[2393.16] Frank: Because, you know, paying this is put it out there that he's refusing to review any more VTOLs
[2400.96] Frank: just because he spends all his time trying to get them to fly and then them crashing because
[2408.0] Frank: basically that maybe it hovers if you're lucky.
[2413.16] Frank: Maybe it flies, you know, fixed wing if you're lucky, but it definitely doesn't switch between
[2420.76] Frank: one and the other without just nose diving and bursting into flames.
[2424.6] Stephen: And I'm pretty sure these, at least at the start of the year, they were limited ardu pilot.
[2429.48] Stephen: Maybe I now have had some progress with VTOLs.
[2431.96] Stephen: Yeah, there's definitely progress.
[2434.52] Stephen: But it's not mature.
[2436.08] Stephen: So you're probably going to be back where you were with tricopters many years ago.
[2440.16] Stephen: It's going to be awesome.
[2441.4] Frank: Leave tricopters out.
[2444.16] Frank: Oh, no, you said Jack's trigger word.
[2449.2] Stephen: Well, I'm just thinking of the only other combination of motor mounts and servos that jump.
[2452.92] Jack: Why is he still talking?
[2460.4] Jack: I wonder if your brother's nice enough to cut the laughing at the end of that.
[2468.16] Jack: Have a shuffle round in the show and then just put that towards the end.
[2474.4] Jack: Sorry, Stephen.
[2475.36] Jack: Yeah, I know.
[2476.2] Jack: Tricopters.
[2478.04] Stephen: Yeah, it's just challenging, isn't it?
[2479.72] Stephen: You've got a lot of mechanical linkages under stress and stuff.
[2483.24] Stephen: And I think the fact with tricopters is relatively simple because you're not trying to
[2489.24] Stephen: totally change flight modes.
[2490.76] Stephen: Whereas you're doing this kind of let me just pull the tablecloth off underneath the glassware
[2496.28] Stephen: a trick with VTOLs where you need enough height that you can swivel that servo around
[2501.36] Stephen: before everything hits the deck.
[2504.44] Frank: Yeah, you need.
[2507.4] Frank: But you've got you're trying to get your your wings to be moving fast enough, but also
[2512.6] Frank: pointing barely level.
[2515.28] Frank: But then to get fast enough, you've got to tilt forwards and then that's creating a
[2520.48] Frank: load of like downforce.
[2522.52] Frank: And then you're trying to rotate these propellers that are moving really fast.
[2526.84] Frank: And then you've got like gyroscopic moments from them.
[2529.2] Frank: And they're like, oh, it just seems like a lot of a lot of hard work.
[2534.0] Frank: Tail sitters seem much more sensible to me, just like you keep the propeller pointing in
[2538.96] Frank: the same direction as the wing and you just fly forwards.
[2542.64] Frank: You just take off vertically, you know, just just screaming for the sky and then you just
[2548.56] Frank: gradually pitch down.
[2549.56] Stephen: It does capture everyone's imagination, I think, right?
[2551.96] Stephen: Yeah.
[2552.96] Stephen: Because they're the perfect kind of delivery system that you can just poise that thing
[2557.44] Stephen: really easily and descend like a tail setter.
[2559.88] Stephen: It's always going to be problematic to descend.
[2562.92] Stephen: And if you do have some vision of doing like pseudo delivery systems or carrying a large
[2569.96] Stephen: payload, then it's nice to be able to do a really easy hover.
[2577.12] Frank: Speaking of large payloads and delivery systems, the other big news that was this week was
[2587.88] Frank: the new DJI system, which is quite interesting, if perhaps slightly threatening, the DJI
[2598.36] Frank: fly cart or sky farts, they keep calling it a fly cart 30.
[2605.2] Frank: Yeah.
[2606.4] Stephen: Yeah. So it's it's it's the alternative loads and loads of donkeys or a car.
[2612.68] Stephen: What you really want is DJI.
[2616.64] Stephen: Here's an area where DJI haven't yet solidified a monopoly.
[2619.96] Stephen: Help them get the full set, guys.
[2622.28] Stephen: Come on.
[2624.2] Frank: Maximum payload of 30 kilos, speed of 20 meters.
[2629.28] Stephen: Actually, in the in the asterisk bit, that was with a double battery config.
[2632.92] Stephen: I think with a single battery, it was even 40 kilos.
[2636.56] Stephen: Well, that's a lot.
[2639.16] Stephen: That's like Tony.
[2641.36] Stephen: Yeah, it's a child or Tony.
[2646.48] Koel: Yeah, pretty, pretty crazy, man.
[2648.2] Koel: Those things are massive.
[2649.56] Koel: Like those things are huge.
[2651.88] Stephen: I mean, those props, then that must be like twenty four.
[2654.8] Jack: And like how he's wearing safety glasses.
[2658.0] Frank: Just basically it explodes.
[2662.24] Stephen: I'd probably go for like at least something that covered the neck area.
[2670.96] Koel: Yeah, it's it's definitely a it's a pretty cool bit of tech.
[2675.16] Koel: But yeah, it's it's pretty crazy, man.
[2678.28] Stephen: It's I mean, there we are.
[2680.68] Stephen: We can see it landing next to someone now.
[2682.4] Stephen: Kind of gauge how big it is.
[2685.12] Frank: Yeah, I mean, a bunch of companies have built big delivery drones like this
[2690.92] Frank: before and they're using them as we know from Chris G.
[2694.48] Frank: So do things like move things between oil rigs and stuff to that point.
[2700.16] Stephen: Like we'll talk about DJI and we don't really like DJI.
[2704.36] Stephen: We don't think that they're a great company by any stretch.
[2707.16] Stephen: And we'd really love to hear from small companies and act as free publicity
[2711.44] Stephen: for them to tell us about the awesome things that they are doing
[2715.96] Stephen: and offering genuine innovation outside of what is rapidly becoming a sky monopoly.
[2722.4] Stephen: So if you know, kind of call up DJI
[2726.96] Stephen: is a DJI.
[2727.92] Stephen: If you are if you are involved in one of these companies,
[2731.36] Stephen: it would be fantastic to have you on the show.
[2734.08] Stephen: So if you're out there and you're doing cargo delivery systems
[2738.28] Stephen: and you have genuine commercial aspects for drones beyond photography,
[2743.08] Stephen: we'd love to talk to you.
[2744.12] Stephen: I think there will be a fascinating topic of discussion.
[2746.64] Stephen: So let us know.
[2748.96] Koel: Yeah, Jack, I mean, I I don't mind DJI as a company
[2753.28] Koel: when it comes to like camera stabilization units or
[2758.8] Koel: for the little little mini little DJI mini drones and stuff like that.
[2763.88] Koel: Yeah, I mean, I don't I don't dislike them as a company.
[2766.48] Koel: I think I think what they're doing is pretty cool.
[2769.56] Koel: They're they're, you know, making a platform that
[2772.96] Koel: or they're refining a platform that no one else has gone,
[2776.28] Koel: gotten to be able to like it's it's it's basically the apple of drones.
[2780.96] Koel: Right. That's how I've always compared it is like they're
[2783.84] Koel: I feel like they're they copied.
[2785.32] Koel: I don't want to say copied.
[2786.28] Koel: And again, any views expressed, yada, yada.
[2788.6] Koel: But it's like
[2791.52] Stephen: you know what I think of the amount of vertical integration, right?
[2795.32] Stephen: That's what Apple's got.
[2796.28] Stephen: They don't just do the software.
[2797.76] Stephen: They do the software that only runs on their hardware
[2800.4] Stephen: and they do the hardware that can only use their software.
[2803.24] Stephen: And you want to assume that you can only use their app store.
[2807.08] Stephen: And it's like this full vertical integration.
[2809.2] Stephen: And DJI does exactly that.
[2811.0] Stephen: And so the positives of DJI are that tight integration
[2814.08] Stephen: where you know that this product will always work.
[2816.68] Stephen: This product will always work with this product.
[2818.76] Stephen: And it's going to be rock solid.
[2820.68] Stephen: The downsides are exactly the same as Apple.
[2823.32] Stephen: This product must always work with this product
[2825.88] Stephen: and must always work with this product.
[2827.68] Stephen: You don't get to choose if you want to go do something wacky and wonderful.
[2831.36] Stephen: You better hope that there's some like you can't be trusted to open.
[2836.44] Stephen: Do a little bit of tinkering.
[2837.88] Stephen: Otherwise, it's not going to happen.
[2839.6] Jack: Yeah, I do.
[2841.28] Jack: I mean, I think that you buy own you, of course.
[2844.56] Koel: I mean, I've tinkered with my DJI drones in the past.
[2847.96] Koel: I've I've done.
[2850.12] Koel: And you know, stuff like that.
[2852.28] Jack: But you will get corrected.
[2857.32] Frank: We've seen Jack to power late with a Mavic something.
[2861.48] Stephen: Yeah. No, I've had that.
[2864.64] Stephen: So so zero says Bamboo Lab was DJI.
[2867.36] Stephen: Shout out to Bad Tech and his kind of lowdown on this,
[2870.52] Stephen: because it appears that the Bamboo Lab guys actually left DJI
[2876.76] Stephen: a while back when it started to become less interesting.
[2879.76] Stephen: And it sounds like the chief motor
[2883.72] Stephen: scientists and a thrust engineers ended up at Bamboo Lab instead.
[2888.84] Jack: That's cool.
[2890.96] Jack: We could not know that.
[2892.36] Koel: Yeah, there's actually a buddy of mine
[2896.48] Koel: from from out here in Canada.
[2897.72] Koel: He he's a big 3D printing guy and he's got tons of bamboo lab machines, I guess.
[2903.36] Koel: Yeah. And he rants and raves about them.
[2905.32] Koel: Apparently, they're just great.
[2906.88] Frank: Yeah, I mean, that is that is probably the lessons I've learned from DJI.
[2910.76] Frank: Right. It's like, make sure that what you do like just works.
[2916.32] Frank: Let the community build out what they need and then work on that.
[2921.96] Frank: So, you know, the very, very early DJI phantoms like
[2927.12] Frank: the you know, you had to fit a gimbal to it or you had to fit a GoPro to it.
[2931.56] Frank: We had to do anything else.
[2932.56] Frank: And it's just gradually built that out
[2935.32] Frank: so that their products always kind of just work.
[2939.24] Stephen: Well, remember the really, really early DJI stuff that was like flamewheel and things.
[2943.92] Stephen: Right. Yeah, true.
[2946.08] Stephen: So I'm worried a little bit that, you know, Bamboo Lab may start out
[2949.52] Stephen: with what you've got now that looks like a great product.
[2951.68] Stephen: But my concern is in like four or five years time,
[2955.04] Stephen: you might be with an HP situation where you're like, you buy this
[2958.88] Stephen: pool of printer filament and it doesn't talk to you about your Bamboo Lab.
[2963.64] Stephen: Yeah, yeah. Yeah.
[2965.0] Stephen: I mean, I just changed my ink cartridge today
[2967.16] Stephen: and like got a reconditioned one from a third party.
[2970.48] Stephen: And you look on the cartridge, it's got all these pointless circuitry on it.
[2974.24] Stephen: And the circuitry is purely there to ensure that the printer will only accept
[2978.68] Stephen: a cartridge that was created by HP.
[2981.64] Stephen: It's pure monopoly power at work.
[2985.08] Jack: The yeah, you can't be trusted to install.
[2988.8] Jack: You're lucky it lets you put paper in there.
[2991.88] Jack: Yeah, you know what?
[2993.2] Koel: If you want to hear someone that
[2996.56] Koel: if you want to hear someone that will rant to the nth degree about stuff like that,
[3001.8] Koel: go look up Louis Rossman.
[3003.52] Koel: He's got a whole bunch of videos about HP.
[3005.72] Koel: He's fine with that.
[3007.64] Koel: Yeah, yeah.
[3010.12] Jack: They should have stuck with Nixie clock.
[3013.04] Jack: Read out
[3015.32] Jack: seven segment.
[3018.4] Stephen: What's really frustrating watching that happen?
[3020.32] Stephen: Because I think Louis Rossman is fighting for these really great ideas
[3024.68] Stephen: and everyone likes them and starts backing them.
[3027.36] Stephen: And then the bill gets into the House of Government
[3030.48] Stephen: and all the vested corruption takes hold.
[3033.56] Stephen: And then they got the bill and they end up passing something
[3036.32] Stephen: that has all these exemptions.
[3037.68] Stephen: That means it's not effective anymore.
[3039.68] Jack: And then this, you know, the the the long winded name for it.
[3045.96] Jack: It's written on a multimeter.
[3048.56] Jack: No, it's called a meter voltmeter.
[3053.64] Jack: It's not like multimeter.
[3055.68] Jack: It's like metro non equal something or other.
[3059.92] Jack: What is the word?
[3061.16] Jack: It's written in your your lab.
[3064.08] Jack: The meterology thing.
[3067.64] Frank: Metrology.
[3068.76] Jack: Retro and tabulator.
[3071.08] Jack: Oh, what is the word?
[3074.04] Jack: It's not. Yeah, I know that's a fluke.
[3076.12] Stephen: Retro turbo and tabulator, mate.
[3078.68] Stephen: No.
[3081.28] Jack: Metrony on it.
[3082.28] Jack: Model.
[3083.32] Jack: It sounds like that, but it's not that.
[3085.36] Jack: Does anyone know?
[3086.36] Jack: Yes. Seven segments.
[3088.44] Koel: I do not know.
[3089.92] Jack: Like vacuums are all hoofers.
[3093.08] Stephen: Did you notice that Jack just tucked the multimeter into bed next to him?
[3098.76] Jack: Oh, yeah, baby.
[3101.16] Koel: Do you kiss it?
[3101.92] Koel: Good night.
[3103.0] Jack: I come into you later, baby.
[3106.4] Jack: I've got some on the forehead to use it.
[3109.92] Stephen: Yes.
[3110.52] Stephen: Half a tank of nitro and a multimeter there.
[3112.84] Jack: The party's just getting started.
[3117.64] Stephen: All right.
[3118.24] Jack: That's the correct name for.
[3123.08] Jack: Uh,
[3126.08] Frank: Cole, you let us listen.
[3127.68] Frank: Well, Jack Googles.
[3130.16] Jack: What?
[3132.56] Frank: Well, well, Jack is googling.
[3136.0] Frank: We were talking about 3D printers.
[3137.68] Frank: Made me think about flying 3D.
[3142.6] Frank: Can I bring printers?
[3145.16] Frank: Not flying 3D printers,
[3147.24] Frank: flying 3D quads.
[3150.4] Frank: Zoe FPV was on on a Gary's podcast recently and talking about a lot of stuff.
[3156.72] Frank: It was quite interesting.
[3157.64] Frank: So like formal or formalized freestyle competitions and flying 3D and all the
[3165.44] Frank: kinds of things.
[3166.0] Frank: So he's been doing very exciting episodes and just been streaming
[3170.8] Frank: recently as well, doing like live streams of her and other people in a discord.
[3177.48] Frank: She's obviously got this growing community going and they've been live streaming
[3184.24] Frank: their flights just sort of on on this live stream, which was quite cool.
[3190.96] Frank: So if you're looking for something to watch, I highly recommend Zoe FPV's streams.
[3197.68] Stephen: Related news, if anyone wants to have a go flying 3D, I think you'll find out that
[3203.64] Stephen: Bluejay have recently started to push out a release.
[3208.2] Stephen: I don't know if it's out just yet, but there was so there was a bug with 3D
[3211.84] Stephen: throttle in some versions of Bluejay and there's an RC.
[3216.76] Stephen: Oh, yeah, it's still an RC mode, but I think they're about to finalize it.
[3220.84] Stephen: So the current Bluejay not 20.1 RC2 fixes 3D mode.
[3227.28] Stephen: It works fine.
[3228.84] Stephen: It was broken 0.7, apparently, which is a bit annoying.
[3234.4] Stephen: So, yeah, give it a go, fly it, get it on a switch.
[3238.6] Stephen: What I tend to do is I've got my angle mode and I've got, you know,
[3242.6] Stephen: acro mode with air engaged and then I've got another switch position up that up
[3247.4] Stephen: the top of on the three position, which disables air mode and puts on 3D mode.
[3252.6] Stephen: And so you can kind of take off normally and get up to a sensible height,
[3257.0] Stephen: give yourself a bit of a bump on the throttle and flick it into 3D mode and go crazy.
[3261.92] Stephen: And hopefully you get control of it before it hits the deck.
[3265.64] Stephen: It's all good fun. Nice.
[3268.08] Frank: Yeah, they were doing a lot of sim flying as well.
[3270.76] Frank: So there's a couple of sims that they've got 3D working quite well,
[3276.64] Frank: apparently, I mean, not perfectly, they're saying.
[3280.84] Frank: But close enough that you have to go there maybe without
[3284.96] Frank: quite so much risk of setting fire to something.
[3289.0] Stephen: So we have volt-ohm milli-ameter.
[3292.36] Frank: Is that what you're looking for, Jack?
[3295.4] Stephen: If you've got continuity checker, it's not just a volt-ohm milli-ameter,
[3301.32] Stephen: is it a volt-ohm diode milli-ameter?
[3303.76] Stephen: Oh, volt-ohm auditory diode milli-ameter.
[3307.76] Jack: Metro, I don't know.
[3311.08] Jack: It's written, you know, in those drawers, you've got to work, Frank.
[3318.34] Jack: Yeah. I know what you mean.
[3321.74] Jack: Yeah, it says multi-metrology, that's all it says.
[3324.98] Jack: Yeah, multi-metrology, yeah, something like that.
[3327.78] Stephen: That's not nearly as impressive as you were building it up to, man.
[3331.1] Stephen: Oh, it is. It's really mind-keeping.
[3333.06] Frank: It's just multi-meter, but it was broader than the multi-meter,
[3338.46] Frank: so we just put a different label on the box.
[3341.94] Stephen: Question from Robert. Sorry.
[3344.66] Stephen: Steven, is your throttle in the middle at 3D mode or is it full range?
[3349.18] Stephen: So, yeah, when I flick to 3D mode,
[3353.98] Stephen: the throttle goes from minus 100 to plus 100.
[3357.58] Stephen: So if you're taking off and you get to mid-throttle
[3361.14] Stephen: and your hover point is, say, like 25% throttle,
[3365.18] Stephen: then you're going to need to give the throttle a bit of a blip
[3369.54] Stephen: and go into 3D mode, and hopefully you can kind of catch it,
[3374.66] Stephen: because all of a sudden, now you're in neutral throttle,
[3378.1] Stephen: 50% halfway up the stick, and your 25% throttle
[3381.94] Stephen: is now about, like, 62% of the way up the stick,
[3386.7] Stephen: so you need to make that adjustment before things go weird.
[3392.46] Stephen: So, yeah, in the middle, it's going to be zero throttle in 3D flight,
[3397.3] Stephen: and if you're below 50%,
[3401.58] Stephen: when you make the transition to 3D mode,
[3403.42] Stephen: your motor is going to reverse and you're going to start accelerating towards the ground,
[3407.3] Stephen: which is why you want to give it a bit of a blip and then go into 3D mode,
[3410.94] Stephen: so it's not quite such a round, 1,000-man.
[3418.54] Stephen: But, yeah, it works. I mean, just put it on a switch.
[3421.14] Stephen: What you need to do is make sure you disable air mode,
[3423.22] Stephen: because air mode and 3D mode are not good bedfellows.
[3426.74] Frank: Well, I think Zoe was saying that there's been some changes made to that
[3430.54] Frank: or there's some adjustments.
[3431.98] Frank: She was definitely talking about air mode,
[3434.22] Frank: and air mode being on, she has some testing to do.
[3437.5] Frank: Don't do it.
[3438.06] Stephen: It's nice to watch this, Joey. Go watch the stream.
[3440.54] Stephen: I personally wrote the documentation and checked the developers
[3443.94] Stephen: and don't enable air mode with 3D mode.
[3447.5] Stephen: Don't do it, because the motor mixer doesn't account for 3D mode
[3451.22] Stephen: and it's going to wig out, and I've tried it myself
[3453.34] Stephen: and it wigs out a little bit, and I talk to other people
[3455.18] Stephen: and they're like, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.
[3458.46] Stephen: I actually wrote the docs that said, don't do that,
[3460.7] Frank: so I'm pretty sure you shouldn't do that.
[3463.58] Frank: What camera angle were you flying or are you flying 3D?
[3466.66] Stephen: Too much, which is what I rapidly found out when changing 3D mode.
[3470.98] Stephen: Yeah, you really want to be keeping it smooth
[3473.3] Stephen: and getting us 10 degrees maybe,
[3475.62] Stephen: so you can get a little bit of forward motion,
[3477.3] Stephen: but yeah, things are going to get wacky if you do a 45-degree camera angle
[3482.42] Stephen: and then you're in 3D because you've just not got a clue where you're going.
[3486.1] Stephen: It's going to be difficult.
[3487.94] Stephen: You're going to see where you've been.
[3489.58] Koel: You're just looking at the ground, basically, aren't you, then?
[3492.26] Stephen: Yeah, yeah, you're like...
[3494.22] Stephen: See, when you flip upside down, you're going to be looking at the ground,
[3497.58] Stephen: but not even the ground in front of you,
[3499.02] Stephen: it's going to be the ground that's basically behind you.
[3501.46] Stephen: Oh, yeah.
[3502.18] Stephen: Oh, that's where I was, that's where I was.
[3503.86] Stephen: It's not really helpful for navigation, so yeah,
[3506.54] Stephen: flat camera angle really helps.
[3508.7] Stephen: Yeah.
[3510.14] Stephen: But you don't tend to do high-speed stuff in 3D.
[3512.18] Stephen: It's mostly just, you know, you're doing tricks around obstacles.
[3515.98] Stephen: If you look at the flying Zoe does,
[3517.62] Stephen: not to put words in her mouth or anything,
[3519.46] Stephen: but a lot of it is you find something that's interesting
[3522.9] Stephen: and you invert and then invert again,
[3525.34] Stephen: and you're doing those inverted, non-inverted transitions around something.
[3529.82] Stephen: You're not getting a ton of forward speed
[3531.58] Stephen: because you're not going to be able to see very well
[3533.78] Stephen: if you get a ton of forward speed.
[3536.18] Frank: Some of these pilots in Zoe's stream were like flying,
[3543.46] Frank: like doing knife edge through gaps
[3546.78] Frank: and then like Matty spinning that are just like very extreme stuff.
[3552.42] Stephen: You should link to that.
[3553.38] Frank: I don't know which one first streams.
[3554.74] Frank: I saw she purposed in a couple, but that would be awesome to see.
[3558.26] Frank: I can't remember which one it was either,
[3560.78] Frank: but I will have a look through maybe while you're finishing up.
[3565.98] Stephen: I'll post it in the comments.
[3567.26] Stephen: Give it a go.
[3567.78] Stephen: So especially with a new version of BlueJ.
[3569.66] Stephen: I think with other stuff, it works, but it's nice to be able to smash that like button.
[3574.38] Stephen: It's nice to be able to do it on lighter cords,
[3576.5] Stephen: which is where the BlueJ stuff comes in handy because you're going to crash.
[3581.14] Stephen: Like there's no two ways about it flying 3D mode.
[3583.74] Stephen: You can be a pretty good pilot.
[3586.38] Stephen: Suddenly, the throttle does other stuff and suddenly everything feels different.
[3591.18] Stephen: Crashing is fairly likely.
[3593.1] Stephen: So pick something light and try it over grass if you can.
[3597.98] Koel: Good idea.
[3599.26] Stephen: Yeah, it's a giggle.
[3602.06] Jack: I like how you were the one who wrote the documentation of a butterfly.
[3606.78] Jack: Thank you, Stephen.
[3608.22] Jack: No one ever read.
[3610.06] Stephen: Well, hopefully it makes it onto Google.
[3612.02] Stephen: That's the name of the game, right?
[3613.74] Stephen: So someone searches for it and be like,
[3615.66] Stephen: why is this thing not working?
[3616.82] Jack: Why did Air Mode during 3D cut my dick off?
[3624.78] Stephen: All right, I'll put the penis severance hashtag in there and see if you can promote it.
[3629.98] Stephen: Recently, I actually started writing some docs for people getting started as well.
[3635.42] Stephen: So I've done this whole section on ESC firmware to try and make it easier to find the right
[3641.1] Stephen: firmware versions because there's been a whole load of versions released and some
[3645.22] Stephen: BL Heli 32 versions do not work very well at all.
[3648.34] Stephen: There's been some almost experimental releases from BL Heli 32 and they've just been a disaster.
[3655.02] Jack: Do you remember the speed EB, where they used to just blow up?
[3659.78] Stephen: Yeah, there's some where you just get hot motors and it's not syncing properly.
[3665.02] Stephen: There's rattling noises and yeah, it's not good.
[3668.14] Stephen: So I've done a couple of tables to say these are the reliable versions and canvas the
[3672.82] Stephen: opinions of racers and things and yeah, like that.
[3676.62] Stephen: And I also did a page on VTXs and Log-in Digital to kind of describe the pros and cons of each
[3681.34] Stephen: and what each offers in terms of configuration.
[3684.9] Stephen: So yeah, slowly moving the docs for it.
[3688.46] Stephen: Not fast, not exciting, hopefully useful.
[3692.46] Jack: Thank you, Stephen.
[3693.46] UNKNOWN: Now walking fast.
[3694.46] Jack: Frank, I don't know whether you want to, I don't know, maybe talk to Zoe at some point
[3703.26] Jack: in the near future.
[3705.26] Frank: We'll be good to have her back on after so many years.
[3710.3] Jack: I do miss her.
[3712.3] Jack: Yeah, Zoe, if you're listening to this, which you probably won't, unless someone wants to
[3717.18] Jack: send a link to this, we do miss you and hope you're doing all right.
[3721.22] Jack: That's all we've got time for.
[3723.54] Jack: It has been a wonderful packed hour.
[3725.74] Jack: Thank you to all our wonderful Patreons who are scrolling past.
[3733.74] Jack: Daniel R. Upton.
[3735.74] Jack: Daniel Coboni.
[3736.74] Jack: Don Robinson.
[3737.74] Jack: Swanee Rheem.
[3738.74] Jack: Thank you.
[3739.98] Jack: You guys are all.
[3742.98] Jack: Oh, yeah.
[3743.98] Jack: Newest, newest boy.
[3745.98] Koel: Yes, sir.
[3747.98] Koel: Canadian boy Marcel.
[3748.98] Koel: Who?
[3749.98] Jack: Yeah.
[3750.98] Jack: And, uh, Cole, I'm a little proud of you.
[3756.22] Jack: I don't say it enough.
[3757.22] Jack: I usually just grunt at you and like responding like passive aggressive read the manual.
[3766.74] Jack: Well done.
[3767.74] Jack: Well, thanks buddy.
[3768.74] Jack: I appreciate it, man.
[3769.74] Jack: Or as Alexander says, read the f-ing wiki.
[3773.06] Jack: Why are you talking to me?
[3775.06] Jack: Um, uh, we've been joined by a lot of master Andrew Frank.
[3781.06] Frank: Bye.
[3782.06] Jack: Uh, the reason why you still have your penis and can use be our heli 32, Stephen.
[3789.18] Stephen: All the best.
[3790.18] Stephen: I'm off to watch some 3d flying clips.
[3792.74] Jack: My buddy Cole.
[3795.38] Stephen: See ya.
[3796.38] Jack: And I've been surprised by fly.
[3799.18] Jack: You.
[3800.18] Stephen: Good night.
[3801.18] Stephen: Thank you.
[3802.18] Stephen: Bye.
[3803.18] Stephen: Bye guys.
[3804.18] UNKNOWN: Telemetry loss.
