[289.21] Stephen: Obviously, when you go to hobby grade radio, the first thing you're going to do is to move
[294.21] Stephen: to a lipo or lithium chemistry to give yourself better reliability and better survivability

[302.21] Stephen: You won't have to charge as often.
[304.21] Stephen: We recommend you just throw them away.
[306.21] Stephen: Obviously, anyone who's been flying for a number of years is trying to make out.

[316.21] Tony: I've been taking it out and charging it to work bollocks where I can just plug the transmitter

[323.21] Stephen: You can just plug the bloody transmitter into the wall with a lipo in it, with a lithium pack in it.

[466.13] Frank: It seems like the voltage that the transmitter displays has no relation to the state of charge
[478.13] Frank: and the batteries inside it.

[487.13] Tony: Well, mine displayed 8.4 when I took it off charge and went out to the field and then

[495.13] Stephen: I mean, mine just displays what the battery is inside it.
[499.13] Stephen: On the receiver side, sometimes you can get the wrong light, the wrong sensor, so you
[504.13] Stephen: can pick up the voltage from somewhere that isn't the light bulb, but on the transmitter
[508.13] Stephen: side, I've not normally seen that go wrong.
[511.13] Frank: No, I thought it would just know what it needs to do, but I don't know.
[519.11] Frank: Caroline Tyler is also saying TX16S shows a low voltage on fully charged lions.

[533.77] Stephen: Does it show a low voltage because it's expecting like a 3S in there or something?

[540.77] Frank: I think I've gone through that sort of thinking of like, oh, maybe it's just that the low
[545.77] Frank: voltage alarm is at the wrong point or something like that.

[550.77] Frank: So I set the low voltage at like some massively high value and then some massively low value

[1059.14] NJ: I've not been doing much of the kind of the acro stuff that my channel sort of was built upon.
[1066.14] NJ: And then recently, I got a DJI FPV on The Quiet.
[1071.14] NJ: I don't think I even announced that.
[1073.14] NJ: And, yeah, that was a kind of an on The Quiet thing.
[1077.14] NJ: And had some fun with that, but that's kind of been in the box for a little while.

[1084.14] NJ: A little bit.

[1090.14] NJ: So the DJI FPV, there is only one of that one, I think.

[1101.14] NJ: So there was the DJI FPV, which was the open prop success thing.

[1110.14] NJ: Lots of problems, but still kind of loved.
[1114.14] NJ: But I knew that one wasn't for me.
[1116.14] NJ: And then the Avata 2 has just dropped, like, what is it?
[1118.14] NJ: 10 days ago or something.
[1120.14] NJ: It's not normal.

[1140.48] NJ: Which was a little bit annoying, because obviously I immediately want the remote control,
[1145.48] NJ: which is then, you know, you've spent a grand and then you find out you've got to
[1148.48] NJ: spend another 130 quid for a proper controller for it.
[1152.48] NJ: But the motion controller is...
[1154.48] NJ: I have flown it because I had that for three or four days before having the proper remote.
[1160.48] NJ: And it is brilliant what they've done in terms of the accessibility now.

[1167.48] NJ: I mean, once I tossed out how it works, I literally gave it to the missus and said,
[1171.48] NJ: look, I'll teach you to fly in about, you know, under a minute.
[1174.48] NJ: And she was moving around in the house with it, like going through doorways and stuff.
[1178.48] NJ: It's so intuitive and brilliantly done.
[1183.48] NJ: And you can completely control how fast it moves in all directions as well.
[1189.48] NJ: And it makes good use of its sensors and stuff.
[1191.48] NJ: So it's excellent.
[1193.48] NJ: It's taken...
[1194.48] NJ: Like, I thought there was a kind of a...
[1198.48] NJ: Like a bandwidth, if you like.
[1199.48] NJ: You've got sort of beginners here and you've got...
[1202.48] NJ: And you're consumer-y beginners here.
[1204.48] NJ: And then at the other end, you've got your FPV pro pilots.
[1208.48] NJ: And then you stick a DJI thing in between those two places.
[1213.48] NJ: And it will move more off to the beginner consumer-y side than it will appeal to the proper FPV side.
[1221.48] NJ: And the FPV drone was that kind of first thing.
[1225.48] NJ: The open prop success thing was the first thing that kind of started
[1228.48] NJ: to move a little bit further towards the FPV market and a little bit further away from the consumer guys.
[1236.48] NJ: And this new Avata 2, because the Avata 1, I think, moved further away from the FPV guys.
[1244.48] NJ: It had too many problems.
[1245.48] NJ: It had washout problems that you have with ducks and all kinds of stuff that just made it...
[1248.48] NJ: Yeah, and it was underpowered, exactly.
[1250.48] NJ: The new Avata 2, the power to weight is great.
[1253.48] NJ: It's a much more slick design.
[1257.48] NJ: There's a lot more to love about it.
[1259.48] NJ: It flies really nicely.
[1261.48] NJ: And what they've done, really, is they've come this way a little bit towards the FPV guys by making it fly really nicely.
[1268.48] NJ: But also, they've gone this way, too, massively, really, in terms of accessibility for people who've never even...
[1275.48] Stephen: So what's changed in terms of accessibility, then?
[1278.48] Stephen: Because they've kept the control.
[1280.48] Stephen: The look of the controls, what you get, is pretty much the same as it always has been.
[1284.48] Stephen: So how's it responding differently compared to the earlier models?
[1288.48] NJ: I think it's... Do you know what it is?
[1291.48] NJ: The thing I can compare it to the most, that motion controller specifically, it's like...
[1297.48] NJ: It kind of makes it feel like a Nintendo Wii.
[1300.48] NJ: It's just got that same kind of...
[1304.48] NJ: Pick it up, swing it around, in a few seconds you kind of get what's going on.
[1309.48] NJ: But the math has gone into programming that and properly making sure that shaky hands don't cause a problem.
[1319.48] Stephen: I saw a guy with a potato, the original DJI FPV, with a one-handed love toy controller in the park.
[1327.48] Stephen: And he was trying to look cool, right?

[1345.48] Stephen: This thing's yo-yoing up and down. He's got no control over the height whatsoever.
[1350.48] Stephen: He's like putting in too much throttle and no throttle and too much throttle and no throttle.
[1354.48] Stephen: He's steering and just kind of veering drunkenly to one side and overcorrecting.
[1358.48] Stephen: So did they kind of change the way it responded to the pilot's inputs and dampen a lot of that stuff down, do you think?
[1365.48] NJ: Well, as soon as you get it, they put a lot of red tape on all of it, actually.
[1371.48] NJ: Well, I say red tape, it's like yellow tape.
[1374.48] NJ: Tape you can cut with a pair of scissors.
[1377.48] NJ: The first thing you do when you pull this thing out of the box is it's immediately in a beginner mode,
[1384.48] NJ: where in terms of you pull the trigger right the way in, it will do no more than a couple of mile an hour forward.
[1391.48] NJ: And the lateral movement, everything's restricted down to we know you need to feel this thing out before we're going to let you take off beginner mode
[1401.48] NJ: and have a few more meters per second.
[1404.48] NJ: And then you've got to go through some more of that tape and turn some more things and check some more boxes
[1409.48] NJ: and agree to some more things to go into sport mode.
[1411.48] NJ: And then if you want that to be faster, you've got to go, you know, it's that kind of thing.
[1415.48] NJ: It's like if you go hunting for it, they'll let you have it.
[1417.48] NJ: But in the first instance, they're like, well, we'll keep this all very restrained and we'll let you adjust to what this thing does.
[1424.48] NJ: But it's it's kind of interesting the way it works.
[1428.48] NJ: And the other thing was, I think it's pretty horrible to hold if you're a left hander, which I am.
[1434.48] NJ: That joystick is the right hand, really.
[1437.48] NJ: But for me, it's actually.
[1440.48] NJ: Yeah. Look at those. Yeah.
[1443.48] NJ: Yeah. Yeah. There we go.
[1445.48] Jack: That's the one of this three left handers and only two right handers.
[1451.48] Jack: Let me let me just fix the problem. Hang on.

[1464.48] Stephen: It's amazing how far you have to go to get a mouse that isn't rubbish.

[1473.48] Stephen: I've been playing games since like Doom and Quake.

[1478.48] NJ: I'm a bit more of a conformist when it comes to those other sort of bits and pieces.
[1482.48] NJ: So I will, you know, I use although I have a separate numpad, which I use on the left side.
[1488.48] NJ: I always want to use the mouse right hand.
[1493.48] NJ: But yeah, the controller does that felt more natural because you've essentially what you're doing with that.
[1500.48] NJ: Your your rudder is think of it like an F-16 like flying a joystick on an aircraft.
[1506.48] NJ: But left and right rather than being roll is actually effectively rudder.
[1511.48] NJ: So as you tilt left, it's sort of doing that combination turning thing for you, ruddering slightly left.
[1520.48] NJ: And then as you pull the trigger, you're going faster.
[1522.48] NJ: And then if you pitch forward or backwards with the motion controller, that's your up and down in the traditional sense.
[1529.48] NJ: So it's this thing of like you pull back and the head points up, it will go up.
[1533.48] NJ: But where your limitations are is that you're always in an attitude mode.
[1537.48] NJ: So obviously when you think I'm doing this amazing dive, what's actually happening is the quads level and the cameras pointing straight down.
[1544.48] NJ: Right. Right. So it's never actually going to be there's no way to get a kind of manual mode experience out of it.
[1549.48] NJ: But it's it's still good. You can still get some some pretty awesome footage with it.
[1554.48] NJ: No, I've not worked our way to do that with the motion controller yet.
[1557.48] NJ: I dare say someone will find that way.
[1559.48] NJ: Hack it probably. That could be fun.
[1562.48] NJ: Although if you saw steals slightly, slight mockery video of it, clearly, clearly, because perhaps you didn't get sent one by DJ.
[1570.48] NJ: I'm not sure.
[1571.48] Stephen: Well, I don't think a lot of people are getting them this time around.
[1573.48] Stephen: I think DJI have made that big splash.
[1575.48] Stephen: And the thing I've noticed is compared to like the FPV drone, everyone seemed to have an FPV drone and was promoting it.
[1582.48] Stephen: There were a lot of freebies floating around this time. Right. So much.
[1586.48] Stephen: Not seeing as much of that.
[1589.48] NJ: Yeah. Yeah, it's interesting. I'm never quite sure how that works, but I'm sure there's probably a marketing strategy to sell the jillions of them that involve picking people with lots of zeros after their sub numbers, maybe.
[1603.48] NJ: Or it might be a thing where, you know, Steel might just he's the kind of person he's not going to pull punches, is he?
[1609.48] NJ: If he wants to hate on it, he will.
[1611.48] NJ: And maybe that's part of the reason why they didn't send it to him.
[1615.48] Stephen: He's quite happy to do a little comedy skit as well.
[1618.48] Stephen: And, you know, have a bit of fun with it because why not? What are you going to lose?
[1621.48] NJ: Well, this is it. But on the whole, I think this flies better than the DJI FPV.
[1627.48] NJ: OK, that's good.
[1628.48] NJ: It's really good. Lovely flow machine. Great power to waste.
[1631.48] Stephen: Which is impressive because it's got smaller props. It's got prop guards.
[1635.48] Stephen: It's got it's got less power overall than the DJI FPV. And yet they've produced a better flying machine.
[1641.48] Stephen: So that's a good job. Absolutely.
[1643.48] NJ: Yeah, I think because it's a lot, a lot lighter than the FPV.
[1648.48] NJ: And I think that the DJI FPV, having flown that quite a lot, it was it was too heavy, really.
[1655.48] NJ: It was it's quite a lump. And I think DJI solved the problem with that thing by saying, well, let's just throw more voltage at it.
[1661.48] NJ: Let's give it give it more power and then people won't complain.
[1664.48] NJ: But that didn't make up for the ion pack.
[1667.48] NJ: Yeah, it didn't change the fact that it made for a bit of a janky handling experience.
[1673.48] NJ: And it wasn't, you know, when it was falling, it would fall like a stone.
[1678.48] NJ: And just having lots of power doesn't necessarily solve that problem.
[1681.48] NJ: It just makes things a little more hairy and not that nice to fly.
[1685.48] Stephen: The more obvious architectural limitations of all that power and all that weight.
[1689.48] Stephen: Whenever you do tap something, you've got such a huge amount of momentum behind you.
[1693.48] Stephen: The stuff just explodes and crumple. Yeah, exactly.
[1697.48] NJ: Whereas this thing, because it's I think it's three hundred and something grams, it's not a lot.
[1702.48] NJ: It just sort of it's it's got that floatiness to it.
[1705.48] NJ: That's actually quite quite desirable for for that nice sort of flowy FPV stuff.
[1711.48] NJ: And it also means low inertia, which, you know, requires its own piloting solutions for certain maneuvers.
[1718.48] NJ: But low inertia also means it's it's pretty crash resilient.
[1721.48] NJ: It just sort of hits things and bounces off it in a sort of almost comedy fashion.
[1724.48] NJ: Then you pick it up and carry on. Lovely.
[1727.48] NJ: But the tear down did scare me.
[1729.48] NJ: I saw a tear down of that thing and I get your care refresh because that's not something.
[1735.48] NJ: You know, I like repairing stuff.
[1737.48] NJ: I'm quite happy to crack soldering like taking apart a German automobile or something.
[1741.48] Stephen: You know, you're going to have to get a lot of manuals and a lot of specialist tools.
[1746.48] NJ: Yeah, you'd be buying a lot.
[1747.48] NJ: Definitely be buying a lot of specialist tools. But it's interesting.
[1749.48] NJ: I can actually where is the drone?
[1753.48] NJ: We'll have to get you said 300 grams as well.
[1758.48] NJ: Yeah, it's three something.
[1759.48] NJ: I thought that was an odd choice.
[1760.48] Stephen: Can you get the ducts off to get it down to that crucial 249?
[1765.48] NJ: You couldn't get rid of those.
[1767.48] NJ: I mean, they're more than they are.
[1770.48] NJ: They're there.
[1771.48] NJ: Yeah, they're structural.
[1772.48] NJ: But I certainly know like in these back corners here, these are where they're hiding the antennas
[1777.48] NJ: on these kind of thicker, cornery bits.
[1780.48] Stephen: I saw a video saying that there are four antennas.
[1784.48] NJ: Yeah.
[1785.48] Stephen: On each of the hoops there.
[1787.48] NJ: Yeah. Yeah.
[1788.48] NJ: So it's and yeah, I'm not quite sure how they have done it.
[1792.48] NJ: But one thing that you have found in the past is you tend to find one direction when you're
[1798.48] NJ: flying a quad long range gives you better reception than the other.
[1801.48] NJ: And most of the time flying away is great reception.
[1803.48] NJ: You fly towards yourself from that far away distance and the antennas might get slightly
[1808.48] NJ: undesirable.
[1810.48] NJ: What?

[1831.48] NJ: And, you know, I went out and did some flying with this and I felt like I'd done four or five
[1836.48] NJ: packs and I'd done two batteries.
[1838.48] NJ: You know, it's it really getting 10 plus minutes out of it.
[1841.48] Stephen: Even flying.
[1842.48] NJ: I would say I'm pretty sure both of those flights were 15 minutes each and doing a fair
[1849.48] NJ: you know, fairly smooth on the set.
[1851.48] NJ: I'm not, you know, bang the throttle and just absolutely rip it to pieces.
[1855.48] Stephen: If you're flying super hard, maybe like 12 minutes, but you still get over 10.
[1860.48] NJ: Yeah, yeah, it's it's it's very it's very good.
[1863.48] NJ: It really is.
[1864.48] NJ: And the sensor, the thing I'm excited to try with this actually is the low light because
[1868.48] NJ: the the sensor, which I think is straight out of their latest action cam, the HDR and the
[1874.48] NJ: low light performance on this is is pretty exceptional.
[1877.48] NJ: So, yeah, quite looking forward to doing a bit of night flying as well.

[1944.48] NJ: So, yeah, I think the way you fly, Tony, I'm not I'm not sure.

[1953.48] NJ: I think if you just like because you you enjoy you enjoy a nice field like us Brits do right.
[1959.48] NJ: We're just coasting over the crops and just getting all these.
[1962.48] NJ: So for that kind of thing, it's it's stunning.

[1978.48] NJ: I think for that kind of thing, it's it's brilliant.

[1985.48] NJ: The other thing is considerably quieter than the Nevada one.

[1990.48] NJ: They'll know it just it literally screams.

[2030.48] NJ: All right. Yeah, that's the other two, which I think is I think that's raised an eyebrow perhaps with a few people.
[2037.48] NJ: People are like, oh, so I can do that. Yeah, I totally can.
[2042.48] NJ: I'm enjoying it. I've got no, you know, I'm my regret in spending a thousand pounds is slowly softening as I enjoy this thing more.
[2050.48] Frank: But I was going to say that it's still an expensive drink at the price that it is, as Shawnee Bean says,
[2058.48] Frank: you need to have deep pockets for one. Do you think it is meant to be a sort of professional tool, a video maker's tool?
[2067.48] Frank: Or is it is it more of a toy than a tool? Where do you think the answer is?
[2075.48] NJ: That's a tricky one, because I mean, if you talk to any serious cinematographers, they want to put, you know,
[2082.48] NJ: they want to put a red on top of a drone that weighs seven kilos and fly that thing around.
[2088.48] NJ: And that's the only thing we'll do. The reality of it is there's definitely shots from considerably less expensive drones making their way into film and TV and cinema.
[2101.48] NJ: And we know this kind of thing definitely has a space. It definitely has space there.
[2109.48] NJ: Would I say it's targeted to those people? I don't think so. But it's like anything once the mainstream adopt this, you'll start seeing that this will start featuring and it will get used.
[2120.48] NJ: And what they've really done here, it's about this sensor. It's really, really good.
[2126.48] NJ: Like the actual picture quality, the low light handling, the high dynamic range is the best I've seen on a digital, on any digital system.
[2136.48] NJ: This new sensor is bonkers. You can literally be facing the sun and have an object just obscuring the sun.
[2145.48] NJ: And you can see detail in the shadow on that object with the sun on the other side of it, which is just nuts.
[2151.48] NJ: You know, by right with anything else, you've got mostly black. It blows all that out. But this, you can see just so much detail.
[2160.48] NJ: So yeah, I think it can definitely live in that world, but I don't think they're necessarily saying, you know, this is targeting the pro cinematographer audience.
[2169.48] NJ: But I guarantee you that it will be in their bag. They'll have one.
[2172.48] Frank: Yeah. It's not going to be for the, yeah, it's not going to be for like big shoots with hundreds of people, but for like a single person shooter doing some video, like Tony said, like for an advert that's going to go on a Facebook ad or a YouTube ad or an Instagram ad or something.
[2189.48] Frank: Like someone who's doing like a quick shoot with only a few people running around, doing lots of different things.
[2195.48] Frank: It could be the sort of the sinewoop for them, I guess.
[2199.48] NJ: Oh, definitely. And the fact that it's, you know, it's this small, it's quiet and it lasts easily. And then it's also, you know, I mean, I saw in the chat, actually, Zoe made a good point.
[2211.48] NJ: They've, you know, people hate on DJI, but they've done so much. Yeah. I've got just that shot up there. My flame wheel DJI with the NASA, the NASA M and the GPS.
[2224.48] NJ: Me and DJI go back a long way, right?
[2229.48] Frank: Reviving is F450, I believe.
[2233.48] Frank: Oh, really? Yeah.
[2235.48] NJ: Unfortunately, you've got to tell us about it, but you'll have to keep an eye on this channel because I will look at getting that thing running again one day. It's got the motors that you had to balance because they were so bad to use the old laser trick on the arm to balance the motors and with a bit of masking.

[2253.48] Jack: I've heard a rumor that he might be coming back, if we all promise to stay.

[2294.48] NJ: But I guess this new sensor is going to make its way into the separate unit at some point.

[2305.48] NJ: I think this is the first time that I would, I'm actually not bothered about there being a GoPro on there because this is that good that you've essentially mitigated that.
[2319.48] NJ: And that's taken a while to get to that point. That's really saying something.
[2324.48] NJ: But I can't remember, I'm not sure what the name of the latest DJI action camera is, but I know it fared up really well against GoPro.
[2331.48] NJ: And it's yeah, it's that sensor they've gone and put in this. So yeah, it's very interesting. I have crashed it once as well.
[2339.48] NJ: I haven't got a lot of crash data on it yet, but it's been at the top of a 30 foot tree and fallen through all the branches and landed.
[2346.48] NJ: And I just broke one prop. In fact, the props here.

[3807.95] NJ: And he lost video just before he went flying through the hole.

[3814.95] NJ: So he kind of, as you would, just carry on piloting the manoeuvre.
[3818.95] NJ: And just hope that then when you hit return home, something good happens and it's all right.

[3831.95] NJ: When he looked at the footage, what happened is, it carried on its track from where it lost signal,
[3837.95] NJ: went through the hole on its own, on that trajectory, stopped, turned around,

[3878.95] NJ: What we think was going on was it's basically radar sweeping with these sensors to make sure that it's not hitting anything on the way back.
[3886.95] NJ: Because it was staying straight, but it was doing this swing emotion.
[3889.95] NJ: And we think the sensors were basically having a good look on the way back to make sure there's nothing to hit.
[3895.95] NJ: It's pretty smart.
[3896.95] NJ: And then it did.
[3897.95] NJ: So that kind of stuff, I think, that's super cool, if that's really what's going on.
[3903.95] NJ: That's very cool indeed.
[3904.95] NJ: But that guy was lucky.
[3906.95] NJ: I mean, what awesome footage.

[3966.95] NJ: And there's there's no more pushing the pushing the flight envelope and what that thing can do.
[3971.95] NJ: The money is going into something else.
[3973.95] NJ: That floor has been fired.
[3974.95] NJ: And there's another floor in the office is a DJI.
[3977.95] NJ: That's now carrying any white.

[3982.95] NJ: I think someone put a GoPro on one and that flew pretty horribly.
[3988.95] NJ: So I mean, I think they've they basically said, look, you've got a great camera.
[3993.95] NJ: You don't need to put anything else on there.
[3995.95] NJ: And I think it would be detrimental more so to this if you were to put any weight on it.
[4001.95] NJ: But I guess I'd say like any quad, there's probably they're probably perfectly capable of doing a bit of lifting.
[4009.95] NJ: Depending on what you know, if you wanted to do an egg drop or something.
[4014.95] NJ: I don't know what the kids do these days with drones.
[4019.95] Tony: It's what I was thinking differently, but I don't really want to say what I was thinking.

[4065.95] NJ: The one that always upset me was when GoPro kind of snubbed the FBI.

[4070.95] NJ: I've still got my I'm never going to sell my GoPro session as rubbish as it was.
[4074.95] NJ: That thing was they were so perfect for drones.
[4077.95] NJ: It's like they just ignored us and went, no, we're bringing out big cameras with heavy screens on the back and you FPV guys can go and do one.
[4085.95] NJ: It's like how much cool footage did we do to help GoPro sales?
[4089.95] NJ: I'm telling you, we did.
[4092.95] NJ: They didn't help at all.
[4095.95] NJ: I know there's that new version, isn't there?
[4097.95] NJ: There's the 11 mini, 11 mini.
[4100.95] NJ: Yeah, the mini where they've kind of gone back to that slightly.
[4102.95] NJ: But I feel like that's a company that could have, you know, that we're supposed to be all about the action and action stuff.
[4110.95] Jack: We're good enough to record their Formula One racing around and we're good enough to chase their suit divers and capture epic jumps of motocross.
[4130.95] Jack: But then when it comes to their insurance, they're like, if you break this using a drone for like we did on the advert, you're not covered.
[4140.95] Jack: And it's like, hang on a minute.
[4142.95] NJ: Like that's what that's what is probably is probably it was probably some some abuse, shall we say, of the the insurance cover on these products that we also might have been people that basically buried GoPro eventually.

[4163.95] NJ: We had kind of the same deal going on with Currys.
[4165.95] Stephen: Well, when like five people are in three times a weekend getting their GoPros replaced every weekend, questions are going to be asked.

[4182.95] NJ: But just to quickly address something Digby Dan's asked, he said, did you use the drone tweaks FCC hack?
[4189.95] NJ: So the thing is with the FCC hack and I got to spend a bit of time chatting with the developer of this.
[4197.95] NJ: And he did send me a code to mess around with trying that versus the CE version.
[4203.95] NJ: They're doing something so freaking clever with the frequency hopping DJI now that honestly, it sort of defies logic how well this works in the standard mode.
[4222.95] NJ: The range is just exceptional.
[4224.95] NJ: And it's to do with these bands that it's found that are legal to transmit video over that aren't just two point four and five point eight.
[4232.95] NJ: There's other bands as well.
[4233.95] NJ: Some of it like this.
[4235.95] NJ: I'm trying to remember what the bands were.
[4237.95] NJ: There's I think there's another two.
[4238.95] NJ: Isn't it great to have longer range, but they found other ways to get around it.
[4244.95] NJ: And it's constantly switching between these three or four bands and maintaining this 40 to 60 bit, you know, megabit.

[4254.95] Stephen: I saw Oscar Lang's video and he was like, all right, let's compare the two bands.
[4258.95] Stephen: And he's like, oh, it went down to like 58 megabit.
[4262.95] NJ: Oh, yeah.

[4264.95] NJ: You can't see it.
[4265.95] Stephen: Yeah.
[4266.95] Stephen: The other side of the valley stuck in the middle of a load of trees behind a log and like 58 megabit.

[4278.95] Tony: You could you could get rid of the five eight and do the two four and see through more.

[4289.95] NJ: But the the way it's hopping around all this stuff and handshaking and it's just doing such an insane job that we've just been flying through like right through words right to the other side.

[4304.95] NJ: And Andy, I think Andy's just dropped a video, actually, Andy Kirby.
[4309.95] NJ: And he's he's left the drone hovering in his house and he's gone for a walk on his estate, which is obviously packed with five point eight and two point four interference.
[4318.95] NJ: And he's gone for a walk to see how far it gets on on CE and FCC and they were pretty much basically the same.
[4328.95] NJ: And it's more about it's that thing of like throwing power at the problem doesn't necessarily solve it when you're talking about congestion.
[4336.95] NJ: And also the fact that the power difference is it's like speed or anything else.
[4340.95] NJ: It's it's a non-linear.
[4342.95] NJ: You get an exponential.
[4344.95] NJ: Precisely, it's exponential.
[4346.95] NJ: You've got you've got to put way more in to get that little more difference.
[4350.95] NJ: So that's one thing.
[4352.95] NJ: The only thing that there is absolutely zero clarity on that I'm having lots of the occasional comment on some of my videos is like do the FCC hack because they limit the speed of the DJI drone in in CE mode and it's unlimited in the FCC.
[4368.95] NJ: And my argument is how in manual mode I can fly as fast as I want.
[4373.95] NJ: I just tip it to 90 degrees and jam the throttle.
[4376.95] NJ: And I've definitely gone over 60.
[4379.95] NJ: That's the only way they could do it.
[4382.95] NJ: But there's nothing there that feels like I'm throttle limited on a four, you know, years and years and millions of packs of right for us.
[4389.95] NJ: I know what for us is that this doesn't seem like there's anything being held back.
[4394.95] NJ: That's the only way I could see they do this.
[4396.95] NJ: So I will test the two different modes to see if I can.
[4401.95] NJ: And I'll do it as an audio test.
[4403.95] NJ: You know, you can hear the top noise.
[4405.95] NJ: Fresh battery.
[4406.95] NJ: Listen to the pitch.
[4407.95] NJ: Tell us what notes it is.
[4408.95] NJ: Full climb out.
[4409.95] NJ: Yeah, we get a bit of air training at the same time.
[4412.95] NJ: Bit of interval training.
[4414.95] NJ: But I think the only way that they would impose any kind of limit would be in sport mode.
[4420.95] NJ: And then they limit the speed at which you can, you know, the max angle, if you like, can limit the amount of speed in an ATI mode, you know, in their sport mode where it's got self-leveling.
[4432.95] NJ: That could be limited, sure.
[4435.95] NJ: And then in FCC, it's unlocked.
[4436.95] NJ: But there are people saying, oh, they limit it in manual mode.
[4440.95] NJ: And I'm literally like, that's almost impossible.
[4443.95] NJ: They have to have some very clever math to work out what angle I'm at and sneakily reduce my angle at the same time, maintaining my camera angle and also slightly reducing my throttle so I don't notice.
[4455.95] NJ: It's like, it's ridiculous.
[4457.95] NJ: So as Stephen pointed out, the only way it would be is if you've got the the throttle was limited compared to FCC mode.
[4466.95] NJ: But I would I will be shocked if that is if that is the case.
[4470.95] NJ: But I'm going to test that and set that straight.
[4472.95] NJ: There's a lot of misinformation about it.
