[97.17] Koel: They're not too shabby weather's been all right bit of rain bit of sun bit of clouds but i can't complain right now it's above i think it's above 20 today so yeah.

[125.45] Koel: I looked at the weather and I said hmm I guess I have cleaned up everything I need to around my house for the most part and.
[133.73] Koel: I don't have a ton of work to do this morning and it's only the early afternoon still for me, so I was like all right i'm gonna go fly for batteries and.
[141.81] Koel: It only took like 20 minutes to charge them up, which is nice and I yeah I got a little bit of flying in today.
[147.61] Stephen: So what kind of area are you flying around.
[150.37] Koel: So it was it's actually like this.
[154.85] Koel: Basically just outside of the city I live in there's like.
[158.81] Koel: I guess like some like country roads kind of thing but off of this one little country road there's these train bridges.
[166.65] Koel: That basically like well I guess it's car bridges that are trained bridges I guess what's the right term for it basically there's road that goes over the train.
[175.01] Koel: And there's there's actually one that goes under and then there's one that goes over and I was like I've been there a bunch of times like we used to go there as kids and just kind of hang out.
[185.05] Koel: I was like this would be a pretty cool place to fly FPV so I.
[189.01] Stephen: mean it sounds like a cool place to power live a train.
[192.77] Stephen: yeah so they're out so long as the train was stationary and there was no one on board the train that would be.
[201.13] Koel: Well it's usually just I think it's like usually freight trains cargo trains going by it's not like passenger trains or anything but yeah so for the last time the train was stationary and there was no one on board the train was the fly tracing in.
[213.61] Koel: Well so the only the difficult thing is that to do any of these power loop type things you may be speaking of there would be no chance of doing it over a train because you could really only do it under the.
[227.77] Koel: You said there was one bridge under the train and one bridge over the train so I thought you could like follow.
[233.61] Koel: Well technically technically speaking you could and I wasn't actually thinking about the under one because no trains came by today on the underneath one but.
[244.77] Koel: The one that I could go under I should say but yeah actually no that's a good point I should try that one of these times maybe that'd be kind of cool but I don't know that's a good point.
[257.41] Koel: I mean one of the legalities I have to check that out.
[261.41] Stephen: I mean if you're going to be as fetus I mean yes absolutely.
[267.45] Koel: Yeah well actually so I did so besides my flying I actually did a bit of soldering today too or desoldering I guess you could say.
[276.37] Koel: So for some really weird reason.
[279.29] Koel: You know the keynote camera the analog cameras they have like the video and power and all that stuff but they also have like the remote control leads like the ground and the control well I've tried hooking up.
[294.37] Koel: Basically the controls to my flight controller because my flight controller supposedly can like through the flight controller and through the sticks I can go in and like change the analog camera parameters.
[305.13] Koel: But I don't know if it's that my camera or if I'm just stupid or if I just suck and I can't figure it out but I've never had any good luck being able to like access the analog cameras OSD and menus and whatnot but I seem to consistently get this weird issue where.
[324.57] Koel: Basically every now and again my my camera will essentially like.
[330.81] Koel: Like the OSD elements seem to like flicker and I used to think it was like oh it's a it's a bad ship or it's a bad ground or it's a bad something and I fiddle around with the wires I mess around with a bunch of different stuff and it didn't do anything well.
[344.81] Koel: I basically de soldered the camera control parts for wires from the camera to the flight controller and essentially once I took those off I had no more of that weird stuff so I either put them in the wrong pads or they weren't grounded properly or something was finicky in there I don't exactly know it was.
[363.81] Stephen: Camera control was always a bit of a dark art but that wasn't really a universal standard it was a bit like sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't yeah you don't have to read that far down camera control for and posts to find people reaching for their box of resistors and soldering extra resistors onto various pins all gets a bit much okay so I'm not the first person to go down this rabbit hole essentially.
[393.81] Koel: No definitely not yeah well that's good to know because like I was like to hell with these this camera control wires it I don't use them if I need to I can plug in the little you know one that came with the camera.
[406.81] Stephen: Yeah I mean how unless you're constantly going from like day mode to night mode to day mode to night mode like no what are you using it for.
[414.81] Koel: Well exactly like the only reason I ever need that remote is to just turn off the built in OSD elements that come stock so that there's nothing from the camera manufacturer I guess but it's really weird how some people just leave it on and then they have their other OSD from the flight controller and they've never removed like the run cam OSD.
[435.81] Koel: Which is kind of funny yeah they look at you like what do you mean there's nothing wrong here can't you see it can't you see it.
[442.81] Stephen: It's like overlapped OSD elements from different sources you're just like what's going on it's no problem it's always it's always been like that yeah you go around that house and they've like wallpaper to room and then there's just a massive patch missing in the middle and that's fine.
[458.81] Koel: It's just always been like that yeah yeah yeah so I basically I got that sorted out and I basically oh and I also had to re refocus my analog camera because when I was in Taiwan I like smashed into some crazy shit out of Bando and it knocked my camera just slightly out of focus where I could still fly perfectly fine.
[481.81] Koel: Not a big deal but I like the last few times I was I looked close and I'm like wait why why can't I just see everything in such good detail like like an inch or two from the camera okay I'm gonna have to go back in and slowly getting a migraine the longer you fly trying to stare and I can't focus why can't I focus.
[501.81] Koel: Yeah yeah so so basically it was like okay focus the camera take off the stupid camera control wires and now everything is resolved and then I got out to fly so that was it was a success except the last annoying thing was on at the very end of my last battery.
[518.81] Koel: Then a train decided to come and I'm like no that's what I want to get the shots so I sent up one of my like almost dead batteries and kind of ran it a little too low but it's okay.
[531.81] Stephen: That sounds absolutely correct.
[533.81] Stephen: That is the right thing to do.
[534.81] Frank: It doesn't get you at all.
[537.81] Koel: No I was like I'm like okay because I'm going to get a risk assessment obviously of course.
[545.81] Stephen: So long as the risk assessment was in and filed which obviously did because it was his last battery had plenty of time to file the risk assessment.
[552.81] Stephen: Yeah it was all good.
[553.81] Frank: It's a dynamic risk assessment.

[556.81] Frank: You don't write it down and you just do things.

[565.81] Koel: No I had a checklist out I had the bulletin board I had the pen you know I was all above board on this but no I obviously I took what I did was my dynamic risk assessment was okay get out the lipo checker see which one has the most left and then.

[587.81] Koel: So I just like very gently throttled like in the general direction of of it and then sort of went near it but I was playing safe with it so and I landed in just fine.

[997.81] Frank: high power radio transmitters or whatever which don't seem to

[1010.81] Frank: So we've always struggled in the past but I've spoken to the
[1014.81] Frank: organizers and one evening when no one is doing any of those
[1019.81] Frank: things for some amount of time I'm getting used to one of
[1024.81] Frank: their circus tents to do some tiny whooping rounds.

[1029.81] Frank: We're also using their projectors.
[1031.81] Frank: We've got people bringing the HD zero gear and load of other
[1034.81] Frank: gear so that we can stream tiny stuff to the screens.

[1040.81] Frank: We're not doing it as a full organized race or anything
[1043.81] Frank: because basically we don't trust that someone in the festival
[1046.81] Frank: would have something going on that completely ruins
[1049.81] Frank: everything.
[1050.81] Frank: But if nothing else we'll be hanging around the circus tent
[1053.81] Frank: waiting for signal to arrive.
[1056.81] Tony: No, it's like wormhole aliens come through,
[1060.81] Tony: ruined tiny whoop day.
[1064.81] Frank: I think it was the last event where we got a satellite
[1068.81] Frank: selfie where we all went out into one particular bit of the
[1072.81] Frank: festival field and sort of looked up and waved because we
[1078.81] Frank: knew a particular satellite was going over and we knew the
[1081.81] Frank: people or someone knew someone who like operated the satellite
[1084.81] Frank: and could take a picture at that moment.

[1090.81] Frank: There's also some people with some very, very high power
[1094.81] Frank: lasers that they rarely get to play with.
[1098.81] Frank: And so there's no Tams and everything and like lasers that
[1102.81] Frank: are so like you see it like just it's crazy.

[1284.81] Tony: I did take it downhill last weekend and it's so much
[1292.81] Tony: different to the analog bike because it's so much heavier.
[1296.81] Tony: Great for going up hills, but going down, oh my God,
[1299.81] Tony: all my shoulders are raking because it's just like throwing
[1302.81] Tony: around so much weight compared to my other one.

[1309.81] Tony: It was fun going up.
[1313.81] Tony: It's actually more fun going up and going down,

[1318.81] Koel: I was wondering what bike you got there, Tony.
[1321.81] Tony: It is a white E160.
[1325.81] Stephen: The two seem to be overlapping a whole lot.
[1328.81] Stephen: There's very few FPV reviewers that haven't reviewed
[1332.81] Stephen: an e-bike recently.
[1333.81] Stephen: They're probably in the minority now.
[1336.81] Tony: Yeah, it's more of an e-mountain bike than an e-bike
[1339.81] Tony: that viewers get.
[1341.81] Stephen: A bit of a premium job.
[1343.81] Stephen: Not down the shots job.
[1345.81] Stephen: Yeah.
[1346.81] Tony: It's quite expensive.
[1347.81] Tony: It's like buying a car.
[1350.81] Stephen: Or a motorbike, rather.
[1352.81] Tony: Yeah, probably like a motorbike.
[1354.81] Tony: Actually, my mate bought a motorbike and my bike was
[1356.81] Tony: more expensive than his motorbike.

[1363.81] Stephen: It won't be too long before we start limiting the use
[1368.81] Stephen: of petrol engines.
[1371.81] Stephen: Makes sense to get in on the action.
[1375.81] Tony: Well, I went from here to Brighton and back the other day.

[1380.81] Tony: I literally just got on it and saw a sign.
[1382.81] Tony: It said Brighton.
[1383.81] Tony: I went, you're all right then.
[1387.81] Tony: It was a noisy ride.
[1389.81] Tony: We have to recharge that.

[1392.81] Tony: You had to go all the way down the 23, basically on the
[1395.81] Tony: paths next door to the motorway.
[1397.81] Tony: There was a particular bit where no barriers and the cars
[1400.81] Tony: are doing 70 miles an hour towards you around a bend and
[1403.81] Tony: you're going on to board the traffic and it's just so loud
[1407.81] Tony: and scary.
[1409.81] Tony: I didn't like it.
[1411.81] Frank: It doesn't sound encouraging.
[1416.32] Tony: No, it wasn't a nice ride.
[1418.32] Tony: But the fact that you can ride from here to Brighton
[1421.32] Tony: or walk to Brighton is pretty cool.
[1423.32] Stephen: What's the kind of cruising speed and how many miles you
[1425.32] Stephen: get at that?
[1427.32] Tony: Cruising.
[1428.32] Tony: When I've got cocoa on me, probably, well, if I keep
[1432.32] Tony: under the limiter, which is 15 and a half mile an hour.
[1436.32] Tony: So if I cruise at 15 mile an hour, basically.
[1440.32] Stephen: You're saying you haven't disabled the limiter, Tony.
[1443.32] Tony: If I do, my warranty gets disabled.
[1446.32] Stephen: Oh, revolting.
[1448.32] Tony: So it's after two years when my warranty on the motor runs
[1451.32] Tony: out, she will be chipped.
[1454.32] Stephen: Until then, no.
[1456.32] Stephen: 15 mile an hour must not even be getting the motor warm on a
[1460.32] Stephen: decent talking motor.
[1462.32] Tony: Not really.
[1463.32] Tony: Not really.
[1464.32] Tony: I mean, it depends.
[1465.32] Tony: You can have it on eco, auto, MTB mode, all turbo.
[1469.32] Tony: So if you went turbo all the way there and back, you'd
[1471.32] Tony: probably run the battery completely out.
[1474.32] Tony: But if you were all the way back there and back, you could
[1478.32] Tony: probably still have 40 percent battery.
[1482.32] Stephen: What, like 50 miles on a charge?
[1486.32] Tony: Probably 60, 70.

[1570.32] Stephen: And she got some just regular bike from second hand from a
[1576.32] Stephen: store down the road, just completely standard hybrid chassis.
[1581.32] Stephen: And it was like, wow, yeah, I'm so fast now.
[1586.32] Stephen: Zoomed off and then got one of those switch wheel conversions.
[1589.32] Stephen: So you get like an electric front wheel.

[2495.44] Frank: I know the sort of rulebook for air shows
[2498.44] Frank: went from being like a little A4 document that you could print out at home

[2505.44] Frank: And then there was the shore of incident where in the UK
[2509.44] Frank: the air show regulations have gone through like five different editions
[2513.44] Frank: and now like a enormous stack encyclopedia of regulations.

[2524.44] Frank: But they also allow a lot more pyrotechnics.
