[808.98] Frank: Did anyone see the news about the drone sightings over Lake and Ethan Mildenhall and all that?
[820.74] Stephen: It was actually a police helicopter that got really close to a U.S.

[826.74] Stephen: And then the police helicopter blamed it on drone flyers and they all knew it was a helicopter.
[831.74] Stephen: No one said anything.
[832.74] Stephen: I mean, they get away with it.
[834.74] Frank: Well, sort of, sort of close.
[835.74] Frank: So it was the helicopter had got permission to fly over the air base and it spotted three red lights above it.
[847.74] Frank: In other words, an aeroplane.
[849.74] Frank: Three aeroplanes.
[851.74] Frank: And it decided to try and go up to try and reach them.
[855.74] Frank: Wait, let's just pause there, Frank.
[857.74] Stephen: So a helicopter sees aircraft above it and the pilot's response was,
[863.74] Frank: go off.
[864.74] Frank: At least helicopter.
[865.74] Frank: Go on to have a look.
[866.74] Frank: There were some drones.
[867.74] Frank: They thought there were some drones in the area.
[869.74] Frank: So they should go and see where where the drones are going and see if they can track.
[872.74] Frank: Over an air base.
[874.74] Frank: Yeah.
[875.74] Frank: And so chased them for like some number of minutes.
[880.74] Stephen: And they noticed the drones were moving at somewhat improbable speeds for battery operated vehicles.
[885.74] Frank: And they were reporting all this back to the the military like controllers who knew where
[892.74] Frank: the F-15s were saying these three red lights are still ahead of us.
[896.74] Frank: And we're not getting any closer.
[897.74] Frank: And they're still above us.
[898.74] Frank: And it's like, yep.
[901.74] Frank: And they didn't catch them.
[902.74] Frank: And they didn't put them put this together.
[905.74] Frank: It got reported in the news as drones swarming around military air bases.
[910.74] Frank: And in Hudson of UAV hive as Freedom of Information requested the background all this.
[919.74] Frank: And it's gone very clearly.
[921.74] Frank: It was these F-15s that they know about.
[923.74] Frank: Has it been put back on the news?
[925.74] Frank: No.
[927.74] Tony: They put it back on the news saying sorry.
[930.74] Stephen: Which is the people at the air base getting really annoyed at drones and the police getting really annoyed at drones.
[938.74] Stephen: And so tacitly conspiring to make sure that drones were blamed.

[944.74] Frank: But so, yeah, the three red lights above the American air base turned out to be three American.

[1075.74] Stephen: which is a continuation of Dom's prior work,
[1079.74] Stephen: doing OSDs on things that are not embedded purpose-built OSD chips,
[1084.74] Stephen: but rather general purpose MCUs that have the ability to deal with analog signals,

[1092.74] Stephen: Some people have done some demos of stuff
[1095.74] Stephen: and they will also manage to do what was previously thought impossible.
